ISSUE WITH CAM SHAFT SENSOR FAILURE. REPLACED BANK 2 AND NOW BANK 1. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE ACCORDING TO ALL OF THE PEOPLE COMPLAINING. THIS WAS PART OF A RECALL FOR 2003 MODELS, BUT NOT FOR 2006 MODELS. CAR HAS 121,000 MILES AND RUNS SMOOTH, EXCEPT FOR THE CAM SHAFT SENSOR FAILURES. IT IS BECOMING DANGEROUS, BECAUSE IT IS KILLING THE ENGINE WHEN IT TRIPS AND HAVING THAT HAPPEN AT 70MPH ON THE INTERSTATE IS A CONCERN FOR INJURY.

ON MAY 8TH BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE LOCAL COLONIAL NISSAN OF MEDFORD, MA AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR WITH A FUEL ISSUE, WHICH DID COST ME $1,200 THE NEXT DAY THEY CALLED ME TO BRING THE CAR BACK AS THEY HAD FORGOTTEN TO TIGHTEN UP A FEW THINGS. WENT BACK AND LEFT THE CAR THERE FOR A FEW HOURS. THE NEXT DAY MAY 11TH, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND HAD TO BRING THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED DUE TO A WIDESPREAD DEFECT WHERE COOLANT LEAKS INTO THE TRANSMISSION, CAUSING TRANSMISSION FAILURE. WHEN THAT COOLANT MIXES WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID IT CREATES A TOXIC HELL STEW THAT DESTROYS THE TRANSMISSION. GIVEN THE OCTOBER 2012 CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT, NISSAN IS ASKING THAT I PAY $3,000 TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION. I DID ALSO PAY FOR ANOTHER PART, WHICH DID COST ANOTHER $250. SO WITHIN A WEEK I PAID $4,450 TO FIX MY CAR, WHILE I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS ISSUE BY NISSAN AND I AM THE FIRST OWNER OF THIS CAR.

I RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED VEHICLE AT NORFOLK MOTORSPORTS IN NORFOLK VA. THEY HAD BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THRU INSPECTION AND IT DID NOT PASS IT, ACCORDING TO THE MANAGER, IT WAS MISSING THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER AND THEY WAS GOING TO BUY THE WHOLE COMPONENT FOR IT INSTEAD. I HAD A MEETING WITH THE OWNER OF THE COMPANY ALONG WITH THE MANAGER, SALESPERSON; THE OWNER HAD STATED TO ME AND MY FIANC AT THE TIME THAT HE COULD HAVE EASILY CLIPPED THE WIRE TO THE SEAT AND IT WOULD PASS INSPECTION. ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER I FINALLY RECEIVED THE VEHICLE AND NOW THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS SHOWING THAT ITS ON "OFF", TO ME, THIS INDICATES THAT THEY TRIPPED THE WIRE TO LET IT PASS INSPECTION. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THEY TRIPPED THE WIRES FOR THE TIRES LIGHTS ON IT. I HAD ASKED FOR MONEY BACK BUT WOULD NOT GIVE IT TO ME SINCE IT IS CONSIDERED A "LEMON". THEY ARE ONLY WILLING TO GIVE ME A TRADE-IN INSTEAD. TILL THIS DAY I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE TITLE BECAUSE AT THE TIME OF SALE THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO CALL THE DAY BEFORE AND THEIR ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL WOULD GIVE IT TO ME. THEY HAVE BEEN GIVING THE RUN-AROUND ON THIS VEHICLE THAT I HAVE PAID IN CASH FOR. THEY NOW WANT TO ME TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT IS THE" ENGINE SERVICE LIGHT", ALONG WITH ANOTHER LIGHT ABOUT THE TIRES. I AM AFRAID THEY WILL ALSO TRIP THE WIRES ON THAT VEHICLE SO IT WILL PASS INSPECTION. THEY TRYING TO FORCE MY HAND INTO SOMETHING THAT I DO NOT WANT INSTEAD OF GIVING MY CASH BACK THAT I GAVE TO THEM FROM THE BANK. *TR

THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, HAD IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA. WHY HAS THERE BEEN NO RECALLS. IT SEEMS THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DATE IS WHEN I RECEIVED MY CAR FROM THE BODY SHOP AFTER 3-CAR WRECK. DROVE IT TO WORK AND THE CAR HAD NO POWER TO CLIMB A HILL. CALLED INSURANCE COMPANY, TOOK IT BACK THEY DID NO REPAIRS TO THE ENGINE, SO IT WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. SHORTLY AFTERWARDS THE CAR WASN'T DOWNSHIFTING PROPERLY, THEN IT STARTED MAKING A SOUND LIKE IT WAS STUCK IN A SPIN CYCLE AND SHOOT OUT CAUSING THE CAR TO GO FASTER. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP NOTHING. SO WITH THE CAR DOING THE SPIN CYCLE AND SHOOTING OUT FAST, IT STARTED MAKING THIS THUMPING NOISE FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THIS WAS SO FREQUENT I THOUGHT THE ENGINE WAS ABOUT DROP OUT, SO I TOOK IT TO TRANSMISSION SHOP; THEY FOUND A CODE FOR AN ELECTRICAL SOLENOID AND RESET IT. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. A WEEK LATER IT DID BUT ALL THE TIME. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THIS TIME THEY WITNESS THE PROBLEM AND CALLED THE CORPORATION TECH'S; WHO RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE IDLE RELEARN AND ODOMETER CLUSTER (MILES OFF). THEY WERE REPLACED BUT MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, INSURANCE COMPANY SENT A THIRD PARTY INSPECTOR OUT. HE FOUND OUT THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE ARE BAD AND IS NOT RELATED TO THE ACCIDENT. I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATION RECEIVED A CLAIM NUMBER, A MONTH LATER THEY CALLED TO SAY THEY ARE NOT GOING TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECKOUT MY PARKING BRAKE BECAUSE THE LIGHT FOR IT DIDN'T COME ON WITH THE OLD ODOMETER CLUSTER BECAUSE I DROVE MY CAR HOME FROM THEIR SHOP AND IT WAS ENGAGED BUT NOTHING INDICATING THAT IT WAS. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT EXPLODE FROM THE WRECK EITHER AND ALSO THE CAR TIRES WILL NOT MAINTAIN THE PROPER AIR PRESSURE. HAD TO GET MY OIL RECHECK SEVERAL TIMES AFTER GETTING THE OIL CHANGED. THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE HERE IN HAWAII WITH ALL THIS TRAFFIC, STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE THE REPORT FROM THE INSPECTOR IF YOU WANT IT. *TR

WHILE DRIVING TO VISIT MY GRANDSONS ON CHRISTMAS EVE, THE REAR DRIVE WHEEL BROKE. THE WHEEL BROKE FROM THE CAR AND TRAVEL DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN AND GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I COULD ONLY SIT HELPLESS AS I WATCH THE BROKEN WHEEL BOUNCE DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE WHEEL CAME TO A STOP MORE THAN 400 YARDS. A QUOTE FROM THE CHP OFFICER, "IT NEVER HAPPENS THIS WAY. USUALLY THE WHEEL LANDS ON SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR CAUSING A ACCIDENT." THIS IS THE SECOND WHEEL THAT HAS BROKE ON MY CAR. SUMMER 2011 I HAD TO REPLACE A CRACKED WHEEL WHEN GETTING NEW TIRES. THE REMAINING TWO WHEELS ON THE CAR HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT AND CRACKS HAVE BEEN FOUND. SINCE MY INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF NEW WHEELS, I'M FORCED TO REPLACE THEM MYSELF. WHILE DOING SOME INVESTIGATIVE WORK, I HAVE FOUND MORE THAN A DOZEN CASES JUST LIKE MINE. THE TIRE SHOP I VISITED TODAY SAID THEY HAVE HAD 3 OTHER NISSAN 350Z - 2006 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. HOW MANY CASES HAVE NOT BEEN REPORTED? NISSAN WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND RECALL THEIR BAD BATCH OF WHEELS FROM 2006. WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO MAKE NISSAN RESPONSIBLE AND RECALL THESE WHEELS? *TR

I HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED AND FOUND ALL 4 CHROME WHEELS HAD CRACKS AND WAS ADVISED TO PARK VEHICLE AS IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. I CONTACTED THE SERVICE MANAGER AT MY DEALERSHIP AND HE ADVISED THAT THE RIMS ON MY VEHICLE WERE SENT OUT TO BE CHROMED BY SOMEONE ELSE OTHER THAN NISSAN CAUSING NISSAN NOT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE CRACKED RIMS. THIS VEHICLE, A TOURING ROADSTER 350Z WAS BOUGHT NEW FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WITH THESE CHROME RIMS ALREADY ON THEM, THIS OTHER DEALERSHIP ALSO HAPPENS TO BE OWNED BY THE CURRENT DEALERSHIP I GO TO. THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID THE DEALERSHIP ALSO WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE THEY ONLY WARRANTY THIS FOR 3YEARS/36,000. MY VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 19,600 MILES ON IT. *TR

WHILE DRIVING IN A HEAVY RAIN, WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON A MEDIUM SPEED, THE WIPERS STOPPED. BY TURNING OFF AND ON THE WIPERS, I COULD NOT GET THEM TO RESTART. WHILE TRYING TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, THE WIPERS BEGAN WORKING AGAIN ON THEIR OWN. THEY WERE OFF FOR APPROXIMATELY 45 SECONDS. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN, APPROXIMATELY 1 MONTH LATER. IN A 45 MINUTE DRIVE HOME, IN HEAVY RAIN, THE WIPERS QUIT ON 3 OCCASIONS. EACH STOPPAGE SEEM TO LAST FOR 30-45 SECONDS. THEY WOULD RESTART ON THEIR OWN, THERE DIDN'T SEEM TO BE ANYTHING THAT I COULD DO TO START THEM. I TOOK THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO FIX. THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND TO BRING IT BACK WHEN IT WAS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME. I TOLD THEM THAT IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS AND I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE IT IN THE RAIN AS IT WAS TOO HAZARDOUS. THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AS THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN CORPORATE, THEY HAD THEIR TECH DEPARTMENT TRY AND TROUBLESHOOT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THEY FOUND NOTHING. I NOW HAVE A VEHICLE WHICH I FEEL IS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS IN INCLEMENT WEATHER AND HAVE HAD NO SUPPORT FROM THE MANUFACTURER IN RESOLVING IT.

ON 10/6/2010 I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND EVALUATION OF PROBLEM IN SHIFTING MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION HAD PROBLEM WITH 1-2 AND 4-3 SHIFTS WITH GRINDING AND DIFFICULTY SHIFTING. THE CAR WAS FOUND TO HAVE A FAULTY TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO FOUND TO HAVE, AS STATED BY THE TECH, NO VISIBLE OIL IN THE ENGINE. THIS INDICATES A CONSUMPTION OF 5+ QUARTS WITHIN 6500 MILES. A TSB BY NISSAN: NTB07-088 DATES BACK TO 2007 OF HIGH OIL CONSUMPTION. THE NEWEST TSB (NTB07-088D) ONLY REPLACES THE SHORT-BLOCK OF THE ENGINE AS WAS DONE BY THE DEALER. THIS HAS NOT ADDRESSED THE DAMAGE OF THE ENGINE DUE TO OIL STARVATION, AS THE TSB COVERS ONLY PARTIAL OIL CONSUMPTION, NOT NEAR TOTAL AS IN THIS CASE. AS OF THE REPAIR, THE ENGINE HAS A ROUGHER IDLE AND THE NEW TRANSMISSION IS STILL DIFFICULT TO SHIFT FROM NOW 1-2 AND 5-6. *TR

I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN 350 Z IN 2009 WITH A CLEAN TITLE AND WAS EXCITED ABOUT THE PURCHASE INITIALLY HOWEVER, TO MY DISMAY I BEGAN NOTICING THE CAR WAS CONSUMING OIL AT AN UNUSUAL RATE. THIS FIRST SYMPTOM I OBSERVED WAS A RATTLING NOISE ORIGINATING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I THEN CHECKED ALL MY FLUIDS AND NOTICED THAT THE MOTOR OIL DIPSTICK WAS NOT REGISTERING OIL, I THEN PROCEEDED TO CORRECT THE OIL LEVEL. I NOTICED THAT ABOUT THREE (3) MONTHS LATER THE RATTLING NOISE RETURN AND UPON CHECKING THE CAR WAS WITHOUT OIL AGAIN. I HAVE NOTICED THAT IT HAS BECAME NECESSARY FOR ME TO REFILL THE ENGINE WITH MOTOR OIL ROUGHLY EVERY THREE (3) MONTHS. I CONDUCTED SOME RESEARCH ONLINE WHEREBY IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT 2006 NISSAN 350 Z'S WHERE SYNONYMOUS WITH MYSTERIOUSLY CONSUMING OIL. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA WHERE I WAS GIVING THE RUN AROUND. I AM ASKING NHTSA TO ASSIST IN WHATEVER WAY POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE WITH 2006 NISSAN 350 Z'S REMEDIED, THANKS. *TR

THESE STOCK TIRES LASTED 22,000 MILES, WHICH IS IN LINE WITH MY EXPECTATIONS. I REPLACED THEM WITH THE HIGHER TREADWEAR RE-11 TIRES, WHICH HAVE A TREADWEAR RATING OF 180. THESE TIRES HAVE COMPLETELY WORN OUT AFTER ONLY 5,500 MILES. I FEEL BRIDGESTONE HAS A FAULTY RUBBER MIXTURE OR ELSE THERE IS FRAUD IN THEIR TREADWEAR METHODOLOGY. I HAVE NOT CHANGED MY DRIVING HABITS OR EVER GONE RACING IN ANY MANNER WITH THESE NEW TIRES. THE RE-11S NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED FOR ACCURATE TREADWEAR. *TR

ON MAY 11,2010 I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER ON MAUI. THE WHEELS ON OUR CAR STARTED TO DISINTEGRATE AND BREAK UP CAUSING US TO SWERVE AND STOP ON THE ROAD. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE NEW WHEELS FOR $5550. THE FACTORY REP JOHN HOOKANO, MY WIFE AND I MET AFTER TWO WEEKS OF THE CAR SITTING AT JIM FAULK NISSAN WITH NO FOLLOW UP CALL. HE SHOWED US THAT THE ORIGINAL WHEELS WERE ALUMINUM ALLOY, AND NOT CHROMED AND STATED THEY MUST BE AFTERMARKET OR CHROMED WITHOUT FACTORY AUTHORIZATION, HE THEN SHOWED US A BULLETIN ISSUED FROM NISSAN 2008, STATING THEIR POSITION NOT TO CHROME THE WHEELS. WE PURCHASED A 2006 350Z GRAND TOURING SPECIAL EDITION WHICH INCLUDED NAVIGATION SYSTEM, BREMBO BRAKES, BASICALLY EVERY OPTION INCLUDING CONVERTIBLE. WHEN I EXPLAINED I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW FROM THE DEALER IN ARIZONA AND THEY DID A DEALER TRADE FOR IT. WHEN IT ARRIVED FROM PEORIA ARIZONA'S NISSAN DEALER THE CHROMED WHEELS WERE ON IT. WE TOOK DELIVERY AT LAMB NISSAN IN PRESCOTT ARIZONA, AS IS, WE CHANGED NOTHING. WHEN I SHOWED THE FACTORY REP A SERVICE REPAIR ORDER FROM WHEN THE WARRANTY WAS IN EFFECT, WHICH MADE REFERENCE TO THE CLICKING WHEELS AND THAT WE HAVE CONTINUED TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM HE IGNORED MY COMMENT. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 36,000 MILES AND YES THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. I DID PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IN WHICH I WAS TOLD DOES NOT COVER WHEELS. HOWEVER I BELIEVE IF THE NHTSA INSPECTOR LOOKED INTO THIS FAULT WOULD BE FOUND WITH EITHER THE MANUFACTURER OR THE DEALER. I CONTACTED LAMB NISSAN AND THE GENERAL MANAGER ED WALSH FOUND THE RECORDS THAT INDICATE I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH THE WHEELS ON IT FROM THE ORIGINAL DEALER WHO TOOK DELIVERY OF THE CAR, AND THAT IT DID IN FACT ARRIVE WITH CHROME NISSAN WHEELS. HE SAID I WILL CREDIT $1000 TO A NEW SET. WE EMAILED NISSAN EARLY ON AND GOT A RESPONSE WE WILL BE CONTACTED VANESSA FIORELLO CONSUMER AFFAIRS NEVER RETURNS MY EMAIL. *TR

I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN 350Z CONVERTIBLE. I HAD THE 06 WHEELS AFTERMARKET POWERCOATED IN MAY 2007. ROUGHLY A MONTH LATER, I FOUND THAT ONE OF THE WHEELS HAD CRACKED. I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT WHEEL, HAD THE WHEEL POWERCOATED TO MATCH THE OTHER THREE. ROUGHLY 4 MONTHS LATER, I DISCOVERED TWO MORE WHEELS HAD CRACKED. RESEARCHING THE CAUSE OF THE CRACKS LED ME TO THE COMPLAINTS FILED EARLIER ON THE SAME WHEEL BEING AFFECTED BY THE CHROMING PROCESS. MY BIGGEST FEAR IS AS WE ALTER THE WHEELS, WE ARE IN ESSENCE AGING THE WHEEL AND DISCOVERING IT TO BE OF SUBSTANDARD QUALITY TO BEGIN WITH. I KNOW OF THREE OTHERS WHO HAVE HAD ATLEAST ONE WHEEL CRACK AFTER POWDER COATING. 4/9 WHEELS LOCAL TO ME HAVE CRACKED AND 1/4 IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. *TR

SEVERE OIL CONSUMPTION 1QT EVER 3 TO 5 HUNDRED MILES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM IN EARLY 2007 WITH AN ENGINE NOISE. THEY COULD NOT HEAR IT. THEY TOOK MY VEHICLE ON 2 DIFFERENT TIMES AND PUT OVER 500 MILES ON IT. WITH NO REPAIR. THIS VEHICLE HAS 76,000 MILES ON IT NOW AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY. AT THE TIME I WAS TOLD THERE WHERE NO TSB'S AND IF THE ENGINE FAILED THEY WOULD COVER IT. I HAVE JUST FOUND THE TSB NTB07-088B REGARDING THIS ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM BROWN AND BROWN NISSAN IN MESA AZ BY ME. IT IS A 2006 NISSAN 350Z ENTHUSIAST WITH A 6 SPD MANUAL TRANS. *TR

Summary

I BOUGHT A 2006 NISSAN 350Z. ONE MORNING AFTER ABOUT 4,000 MILES OF MOSTLY HIGHWAY DRIVING, I HEARD A STRANGE SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD THAT SOUNDED LIKE VALVE TAPPING. IT GOT LOUDER AND LOUDER AS THE ENGINE GOT WARMER. I RECOGNIZED THE SOUND FROM AN OLD WORK VAN THAT I USED TO HAVE BEFORE THE ENGINE BLEW DUE TO IT HAVING NO OIL. SURE ENOUGH, THE CRANKCASE WAS EMPTY. THERE WAS NO OIL AND THE ENGINE TOOK A FULL 5 QUARTS OF OIL. THERE ARE NO EXTERNAL OIL LEAKS ON THE ENGINE. I FOUND OUT THAT THE NISSAN "REVUP" ENGINES IN THE 2006 350Z HAVE AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, WHERE, AFTER AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, INFORMED ME THAT BURNING 1 QUART OF OIL PER 1,000 MILES IS NORMAL. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAS ISSUED A TSB. THEY NEED TO DO A RECALL, AN ENGINE SEIZING CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AND KILL PEOPLE. THANKS FOR LISTENING. *TR

MY 2006 NISSAN 350Z WAS PURCHASED WITH 21,000 MILES IN AUG OF 2007 AND I NOTICED THE ENGINE WAS CONSUMING ALOT OF OIL. I TOOK IT INTO NISSAN OF DOWNTOWN LA AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT MY YEAR AND MODEL HAS THIS ISSUE AND ORDERED A NEW ENGINE. IN NOV OF 2007 I CALLED NISSAN TO COMPLAIN THAT I HAD NOT GOT A NEW ENGINE AS YET AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT A REP WOULD CONTACT ME. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE REP (RIKKI) I GOT MY NEW ENGINE WITHIN A WEEK AND IT WAS INSTALLED. BUT THE CAR WAS NOT RUNNING PROPERLY AND WAS VERY SLUGGISH. AFTER 3 VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY LOOKED INTO THE MATTER AND ADVISED ME THAT THEY MADE AN ERROR WHEN THEY INSTALLED IT. THE NISSAN REP RIKKI PROMISED THAT I WOULD GET 2000 FOR MY TROUBLES. NOW I GET NO RETURN CALLS OR ANYTHING. THIS IS NOT SAFE! NISSAN SHOULD NOT BE SELLING CARS WITH ENGINE ISSUES AND WHEN THEY DO REPAIR IT, IT SHOULD BE DONE PROPERLY! *TR

I CURRENTLY OWN A 2006 NISSAN 350Z W/ MANUAL TRANSMISSION, THAT HAS A MAJOR OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS LOSING OIL AT A RATE OF 1 QUART PER 1,000 MILES. NISSAN CORP. AGREED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE, WITH WHAT THEY SAID WAS THE COUNTER MEASURE FIX TO THE ISSUE. NOW, THE NEW REPLACEMENT ENGINE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE LESS THAN 4K MILES ON THE NEW ENGINE, AND THE DEALERSHIP (JOHN ELWAY NISSAN IN RIVERSIDE), CONFIRMED THE ENGINE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME OIL LOSS PROBLEM. NISSAN CORP. HAS RELEASED A TSB ON THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER THE RESOLUTION THEY PROVIDE (REPLACE WITH COUNTER MEASURE ENGINE), IS NOT A FIX. THOUSANDS HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS MATTER, AND NISSAN CORP. SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DECEIT. THIS ISSUE ALSO AFFECTS OTHER YEARS AND MODELS (I.E. INFINITY G35 COUPE), WITH THE SAME ENGINE. *TR

I NOTICED MY 2006 350Z WAS USING SMALL AMOUNTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. AROUND 21,000 MILES I SAW A DRAMATIC INCREASE IN OIL USAGE. MORE THAN 1 QUART LOW AT ONLY 1900 MILES INTO MY OIL CHANGE. I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH DEALER TO SHOW OIL CONSUMPTION AND IT HAS INCREASED AS TIME HAS GONE ON. THIS WILL RESULT IN DECREASED VALUE OF MY CAR AS THE WORD GETS OUT TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET A FAIR TRADE IN VALUE OR EVEN SALE MY AUTO ONCE THE KNOWLEDGE OF OIL USAGE IS PUBLIC. THE DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME THAT THEY WILL REPLACE THE ENGINE, BUT HAS FAILED TO DO SO OR EVEN GIVE ME A DATE FOR THE REPLACEMENT. I FEEL THEY ARE DOWNPLAYING MY SITUATION IN THE HOPES THAT I WILL JUST GO AWAY. NISSAN WAS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE IN MID 2005. I PURCHASED MY CAR IN MID 2006. I FEEL THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO ME AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. *TR

I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN 350Z MANUAL 6 SPEED. AFTER SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES, THE CAR STARTED TO BURN AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF OIL. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. I STATED THAT THIS WAS A NEW CAR AND NEW CARS DO NOT BURN OIL. NISSAN CONSUMER RELATIONS WAS CONTACTED AND AFTER ALMOST A YEAR AND WITH MANY THREATS TO HIRE AN ATTORNEY AND SUE FOR CONSUMER FRAUD, NISSAN FINALLY AGREED TO REPLACE THE ENGINE. I HAVE 3,000 MILES ON THE NEW ENGINE, AND EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT CONSUMING OIL AS BEFORE, IT IS STILL BURNING SOME, WHICH IS NOT NORMAL. THIS HAS CREATED A SITUATION WHERE I NEED TO CARRY OIL WITH ME CONSTANTLY IN CASE THE OIL LEVEL GOES LOW AND I HAVE TO REPLACE BURNED OIL. THIS COULD RESULT IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF I NEED TO STOP ON A FREEWAY OR IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. *TR

SOMETIMES DRIVING, I HEAR LIGHT CRACKLING NOISE COMES AND GOES. FOR 9 MONTHS CHECKUP, I MENTIONED IT TO DEALER. HE SAID THEY TEST DROVE IT AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. ON SAT EVENING, 8-25, THE FRONT RT SIDE OF RIM CRACKED & CAME OUT BOUNCING OFF FREEWAY! SCARY & DANGEROUS! WE JUST LET THE CAR SLIDE AND SCRAPE ON THREE WHEELS OFF THE NEXT EXIT. I HAD SPARE TIRE PUT ON & SLOWLY GOT THE CAR BACK HOME, IN SHOCK! MONDAY I HAD CAR TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER & THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO FIX MY CAR BECAUSE OF THE WHEELS. I DIDN'T KNOW WHY....BUT MANAGER THERE CALLED FOR MY PERMISSION TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO MY DEALER WITH ALL CHARGES PAID BY DEALER. I WAS DISAPPOINTED, DISRESPECTED, MISTREATED,& LIED TO. BOUGHT CAR IN GOOD FAITH & THEY LIED TO ME SOME MORE! I CALLED NIS MANUF CONSUMER AFFAIRS & FOUND OUT THAT THOSE RIMS WERE DIPPED CHROME! DEALER HAD NERVE TO GIVE ME SAME RIMS & TRY TO RETURN CAR BACK WITH DAMAGE BREAKING THE DISCS & LOWER ARM. ALSO REPAINTED THE SCRAPED BUMPER. HAVE PICS OF SLOPPY WORK WITH CAMERA PHONE. I EXPLAINED TO THEM I WANT IT FIXED BRAND NEW LIKE WHEN I FIRST DROVE OFF THAT LOT WITH IT AND I THOUGHT THEY UNDERSTOOD. I STILL NEED PRO TO THOROUGHLY INSPECT CAR. ALTHOUGH REPAIRS MADE, I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING CAR ANYMORE. I SAID FIX CAR LIKE WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT IT- BEFORE THE DEFECTIVE WHEEL CAME OFF WITH REAL RIMS. HE ORDERED & PLACED IT ON MY CAR. SAT NIGHT, DEALER CALLED TO PICK CAR UP. I ASKED FOR INVOICE AND PAPERS. THEY SAID COME BACK MON. ASKED THEM TO HAND WRITE THAT THE RIMS ARE STOCKED & EVERYTHING NEW LIKE WANTED SO I CAN DRIVE OFF FEELING SAFE. THEY SAID CAN'T. AGAIN I LEFT DISAPPOINTED. NOTICED HEADLIGHTS DIMMER THAN BEFORE & ONE SIDE HIGHER THAN THE OTHER. MON, TOLD SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT LIGHTS. RESPONSE, "WE'RE SUPPOSED TO JUST REPLACE WHEELS." DON'T KNOW IF I HAVE RIGHT WHEELS OR NOT. I NEED A NEW CAR .DEALER NOT CONCERNED WITH PUBLIC SAFETY, ONLY PROFITS. I HURT EMOTIONALLY & PHYSICALLY! *TR

DRIVING HOME ONLY 1/8 MILE FROM MY HOUSE, I COLLIDED HEAD ON WITH A SMALL PICK-UP TRUCK. MY NISSAN 350 CAR SPUN SEVERAL TIMES AND CAME TO REST. MOST OF THE DAMAGE WAS TO THE DRIVER SIDE AND FRONT END. FRONT BUMPER COMPLETELY GONE. DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT COMPLETELY GONE, PASSENGER SIDE INTACT. DRIVER SIDE DOOR CAN ONLY OPEN A FEW INCHES, PASSENGER SIDE-FINE. DRIVER SIDE WINDSHIELD CRACKED DUE TO HOOD BEING PUSHED BACK INTO CAR, PASSENGER SIDE-FINE. MY CONCERN AND MAJOR COMPLAINT IS THAT WHILE MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED, THE DRIVER SIDE NOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. HAD I BEEN TRAVELING AT HIGHER SPEEDS OR NOT WEARING MY SEAT BELT AND MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, I COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY BEEN HURT DUE TO THIS, WHAT I FEEL TO BE A, MALFUNCTION. TO ADD, I HAD A 2004 NISSAN 350Z PREVIOUSLY IN WHICH I HAD GENTLY HIT A CURB, FRONT, DRIVER SIDE AND MY SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED IMMEDIATELY. FOR THE ACCIDENT AND THE SIGNIFICANT MORE DAMAGE THAT JUST OCCURRED, THERE IS NO WAY THAT THE AIR BAGS SHOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED. I SEE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS RESEARCHING THIS AND I AM GREATLY CONCERNED. *JB
