TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD E-150 EQUIPPED WITH MICHELIN LTX M/S TIRES, SIZE: PT245/70 R16. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION. THE CONTACT VEERED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, EXITED, LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE, AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR SPARE TIRE MOUNTED UNDER THE VEHICLE HAD EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING. MARK MCLARTY FORD (4400 LANDERS RD, NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR 72117, (501) 945-1200) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 133,901.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDEL SPRING BROKEN, DOOR CLOSES BUT MAY OPEN IN EVENT OF CRASH THIS WAS ONLY RECALLED FOR CERTAIN MODELS NHST CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 11V049000
AS THE DRIVER APPROACHED AN INTERSECTION THE BRAKE PEDAL LOCKED UP AND THE VEHICLE COULD NOT SLOW TO STOP CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AS THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION ON A RED LIGHT. THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY TWO MONTHS BEFORE AND WAS SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. HOWEVER THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN. (THIS COMPLAINT IS SIMILAR TO COMPLAINT NUMBER 10918568 AND THAT COMPLAINT IMPROPERLY NOTED THAT THERE WAS NO POLICE REPORT - THE REPORT IS ATTACHED WITH THIS COMPLAINT. ALSO, THIS COMPLAINT SUPPLEMENTS THE PRIOR INFORMATION BY PROVIDED THE SERVICE TICKET. THE TICKET SHOWS A FUEL PUMP RELAY FUSE MELTED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD E-150 EQUIPPED WITH FOUR VIGOROUS HT301 (NA) TIRES, SIZE LT 225/75R/16E (NA). WHILE DRIVING OVER 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND VIBRATED SEVERELY. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TWO REAR TIRES EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD E-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS FAILED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
FUEL GAUGE---WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, FUEL GAUGE SAID I STILL HAD 185 MILES TO FILL UP. THE ENGINE STOPPED AND EVERYTHING WENT DEAD. NO POWER TO ANY THING. HAD TO HAVE TRUCK TOWED APPROX. 25 MILES TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER. AFTER 4 HOURS OF LOOKING FOR THE REASON, I WAS TOLD THE FUEL SENSOR HAD GONE OUT AND THE COST WOULD BE OVER 1,200.00 TO FIX. I HAVE NEVER SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN BEFORE. THIS IS THE FIRST FORD I HAVE PURCHASED AND HOPEFULLY THIS IS NOT A SIGN OF THINGS STILL TO HAPPEN. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED FOR HIS SAFETY SINCE HE HAD NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT TIRES RELATED TO THE NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13T012000 (TIRES). THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE DEALER REGARDING THE TIRE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THEY WOULD BE SENDING THE REPLACEMENT TIRES BUT DIDN'T INDICATE HOW SOON THEY WOULD RECEIVE THEM. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AFTER STARTING MY VAN ON THE MORNING OF 02/06/2014, MY LOW TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ALERTED ME OF LOW AIR PRESSURE IN ONE OF MY TIRES. I CHECKED MY TIRES TO SEE WHICH TIRE WAS LOW, AND NOTICED THE TREAD SEPARATING FROM THE LEFT REAR TIRE. BECAUSE OF THIS TIRE CONDITION I INSPECTED MY OTHER THREE TIRES AND NOTICED ALL OF THE TIRES HAD SLIGHT TREAD SEPARATION. I QUICKLY MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES AT BELLE TIRE OF BELLEVILLE, MI. AT THIS TIME I WASN'T AWARE OF ANY RECALL ON MY TIRES. AFTER READING AN ARTICLE ABOUT TIRE RECALLS ON FEB,24 2014 FOR MY VEHICLE, I CALLED MICHELIN TO SEE IF MY TIRES WERE PART OF THE RECALL, BUT WITHOUT THE OLD TIRES I COULD NOT PROVE THE TYPE OF TIRE I HAD, THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF MY TIRES. OKAY I UNDERSTAND THAT, BUT MY TIRES ONLY HAD 36000 MILES AND HAD TREAD SEPARATION. I TOLD THE MICHELIN REP THEY MAY WANT TO EXPAND THE RECALL BECAUSE MY TIRES WERE FALLING APART AS WELL. 12/1/2010 EXPLANATION OF TWO LIFE THREATENING SITUATIONS SITUATION ONE: ON MAY 4, 2010, I THE CONSUMER, WAS DRIVING FROM JOHNS CREEK, GEORGIA TO CHATTANOOGA, TENN. THE TRIP WAS ON GEORGIA HWY 400 SOUTH FROM OLD MILTON PKWY TO I-285 WEST AND NORTH ON I-75. THE TIME WAS BETWEEN 3:30 PM AND 5:30PM. THE VAN WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND WAS MOVING FROM THE LEFT TO THE RIGHT SIDES OF THE TRAFFIC LANE. THE TRAFFIC WAS CONSIDERED NORMAL FOR I-75 WITH 18 WHEEL TRUCK AND PASSENGER CAR TRAFFIC. THE VAN WAS DRIVEN WITH THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 65 AND 75 MPH. IN THE DALTON, GEORGIA AREA OF I-75 THE VAN WAS APPROACHING AN OVERPASS. AT THE OVERPASS THE PAVEMENT MUST HAVE CHANGED IN LEVEL BECAUSE THE VAN JUMPED IN THE AIR AND TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT APPROACHING THE LEFT GUARD RAIL. FORTUNATELY, THE CONSUMER DRIVER WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL BEFORE HITTING THE GUARD RAIL OR THE TRUCK ON THE RIGHT. THE VAN WAS RETURNED TO CHEROKEE FORD ON MAY 5, 2010 FOR CORRECTION OF THE DIFFICULT CONTROL PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED TO DATE. SITUATION TWO: ON OCTOBER 15, 2010 I THE CONSUMER, WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON GEORGIA HWY 400 FROM OLD MILTON PKWY TO THE ABERNATHY EXIT. THE TIME WAS BETWEEN 2:30PM TO 2:45PM. TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY WITH PASSENGER CAR TRAFFIC AND THE VAN WAS TRAVELING IN THE MIDDLE LEFT LANE OF THE FOUR LANE HIGHWAY. TRAFFIC SPEED WAS NORMAL FOR GEORGIA 400 ABOUT 65 TO 75 MPH. THE VAN WAS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND WAS MOVING FROM THE LEFT TO THE RIGHT SIDES OF THE TRAFFIC LANE, SIMILAR WITH SITUATION ONE. FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND WITH NO CHANGE IN THE STEERING WHEEL DIRECTION THE VAN WENT LEFT INTO THE FAR LEFT LANE. I TRIED TO RETURN TO THE MIDDLE LEFT LANE, BUT THE VAN WOULD NOT RESPOND WITH A SLIGHT TURN TO THE RIGHT. AFTER SOME DISTANCE, UNKNOWN, THE VAN DID RESPOND AND RETURNED TO THE MIDDLE LEFT LANE.
