A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH AND PULLEY SEPERATED A/C COMPRESSOR SEIZED UP SERPENTINE BELT GOT DAMAGED FROM THE SEIZE. TRUCK WOULD STALL AND LOSE POWER AT STOP LIGHTS AND INTERSECTIONS BECAUSE IT WAS SEIZING AND TAKING ENERGY FROM THE BATTERY AND TRUCK. WAS TOLD IT WAS A CAM SENSOR THE WHOLE TIME IT WAS THE A/C COMPRESSOR PULLEY AND CLUTH THAT DISCONNECTED AND FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING. SCARIEST THINNG EVER IN MY LIFE. AND THE FACT I CANT GET A A/C BYPASS PULLEY FOR THIS YEAR OF THIS TRUCK IM BASICALLY SCREWED BECAUSE ITS A MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC MY CHILDREN ARE IN REMOTE LEARNING FROM HOME FOR SCHOOL I CANT WORK BECAUSE OF THAT I CANT THERE FOR I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY A NEW A/C COMPRESSOR AND SERPENTINE BELT OR GET THEM INSTALLED. IN MAY 2019 WAS LEAVING A PARKING AREA AND CAR REPEATED SAME THING. TOOK LONGER TO STOP, BUT HAD THERE BEEN ANOTHER CAR OR PEDESTRIAN IN FRONT OF ME, COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS. WITHIN THE LAST WEEK, (JUNE 15), IF CAR IS IDLING EITHER AT LIGHT OR IN PARK, ENGINE WILL START RACING. TURN OFF CAR AND RESTART, IT WILL START AGAIN, BUT WITHOUT MY TOUCHING ACCELERATOR, WHEN CAR IS IN DRIVE WILL "CRUISE " AT 25 MPH. FORD VEHICLE SHUTS OFF SPORADICALLY WITH MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY. THE BRAKES ALSO SEIZE UP TO THE POINT WHERE THEY OVER HEAT AND COULD CATCH FIRE. THE MOST RECENT EVENT HAPPENED MAY 15TH AFTER PICKING THE CAR UP FROM MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TO TRY AND REPAIR WHAT FORD DEALERSHIPS HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REPAIR. IT SHUT OFF ON THE WAY HOME. MAY 16TH THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A OVER A YEAR. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS AND WAS RECENTLY AT AUTO NATION FORD IN UNION CITY GA FOR OVER A MONTH AWAITING A PART THAT NEVER SHOWED UP. I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP AND TOOK IT TO ANOTHER LOCAL SHOP THAT WAS ABLE TO SECURE THE PART AND REPLACE IT, BUT THAT STILL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SO FAR, I'VE SPENT UPWARDS OF $8000 IN THE SPAN OF A YEAR AND THE ISSUE STILL HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVE. REPAIRS FROM BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS TO THE CALIPERS AND HYDRAULIC SYSTEM AND EVEN A FULL 4X4 TRANSFER CASE ASYMBLEY SO FAR NONE OF THE REPAIRS HAS WORKED. IT HAS SHUT OFF IN THE PAST WHILE DRIVING TO WORK ON THE EXPRESS WAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AREAS. THIS VEHICLE IS JUST UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND OTHER VIDEOS OF FORD OWNERS THAT ARE ALSO GOING THROUGH THIS ISSUE WITH THE SAME RESULTS. I HAVE VIDEO WHICH IS THE BEST VISUAL SINCE THERE ARE MULTIPLE WARNINGS THAT POP UP.

2010 FORD EXPEDITION WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND. A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO THAT WAS ON THE NORTHBOUND SIDE, MADE A LEFT-HAND TURN IN FRONT OF THE EXPEDITION WITHOUT YIELDING RIGHT OF WAY TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE EXPEDITION WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MPH AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP LEAVING SKID MARKS ON THE PAVEMENT. THERE WAS NO TIME TO REACT AS IT TOOK PLACE SO QUICKLY. THE VEHICLES COLLIDED RIGHT FRONT TO RIGHT FRONT. THEN AS THE VEHICLES CONTINUED IN MOTION THE EXPEDITION WAS DRAGGED SIDEWAYS INTO A T-BONE TYPE POSITION WITH THE SIDE OF THE SILVERADO, AND THE FRONT OF THE EXPEDITION SLIDE DOWN THE SIDE OF THE SILVERADO IN THIS POSITION CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE SILVERADO'S PASSENGER FRONT FENDER, DOOR, EXTENDED CAB DOOR AND FRONT OF THE BEDSIDE. THE BACKEND OF THE SILVERADO CAME UP OFF OF THE GROUND AND THEN THE VEHICLES SEPARATED. THE WHOLE FRONT OF THE EXPEDITION WAS TAKEN OFF. IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS SURPRISED THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND ADVISED US TO STAY OUT OF THE VEHICLE AT THAT POINT. THERE WERE THREE OCCUPANTS IN THE EXPEDITION, ALL WEARING SEATBELTS, INCLUDING THE DRIVER, A PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT AND A PASSENGER IN THE RIGHT SEAT OF THE SECOND ROW OF SEATING. THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER WAS HEAVILY BRUISED ACROSS THE CHEST FROM THE SEATBELT LOCKING UP. HOWEVER THAT PARTICULAR SEATBELT WOULD OFTEN LOCK UP AND START CINCHING DOWN ON WHOEVER WAS OCCUPYING THAT SEAT ON A REGULAR BASIS PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT. AND WHEN THE SEAT BELT WOULD DO SO IT WOULD HAVE TO BE UNFASTENED AND LET TO PULL ALL THE WAY BACK IN, PULLED BACK OUT AND REFASTENED. SO EVEN WITH ITS PRIOR APPARENT DEFECT IT STILL LOCKED UP IN THE COLLISION, JUST NO AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT.

I PURCHASED A NEW SET OF PIRELLI TIRES FOR MY 2010 FORD EXPEDITION IN FEB. 2015 & THEY COST ME $1,800.00. I THOUGHT I WAS PAYING FOR A A BETTER SET OF TIRES. IN AUG.,6 MTH. LATER, MY FAMILY WENT ON A TRIP TO NC IN THE EXPEDITION & ON OUR WAY HOME MY FRONT PASSENGER TIRE COMPLETELY CAME APART FROM THE INSIDE OUT ON THE INTERSTATE. MY TIRE SENSOR LIGHT HAD COME ON MAYBE 10 MINUTES AT MOST PRIOR TO THE TIRE EXPLODING, WE SHOULD'VE HAD TIME TO MAKE IT TO A GAS STATION. I BROUGHT MY CAR TO SARASOTA FORD THE NEXT DAY & WAS TOLD I SHOULD HAVE IMMEDIATELY PUT A SPARE ON MY CAR & BROUGHT THE TIRE IN BECAUSE MOST LIKELY THE VALVE STEM WAS LEAKING & THEY WOULD'VE COVERED THE TIRE. JIMMY SAID THAT I RUINED THE TIRE BECAUSE OF DRIVING ON IT WITH LOW TIRE PRESSURE. I PAID THE $225.BECAUSE I STILL HAD A SPARE TIRE ON MY CAR & I WASN'T COMFORTABLE WITH IT & I WASN'T GETTING ANYWHERE TRYING TO TELL HIM THAT I DIDN'T BELIEVE YOU CAN BE GIVEN A 10 MIN.WARNING TO GET YOUR TIRE OFF THE ROAD BEFORE IT JUST DISINTEGRATES. I'M NOT SURE IF IT WOULD'VE GONE DIFFERENTLY IF I'D BEEN A GUY! I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH SARASOTA FORD A LONG TIME & THEY HAVE ALL OF MY SERVICE LOG RECORDS. I GET MY OIL CHANGED EVERY 3,000 MI , MY TIRES ROTATED EVERY OTHER OIL CHANGE & THE RECORDS WILL SHOW THAT I TAKE CARE OF ANY NEEDS THAT MY CAR HAS, I DON'T IGNORE THEM AS HE WOULD IMPLY. ON 04/14/2015 MY FRIEND OUR 2010 FORD EXPEDITION EL LIMITED IN THE DRIVEWAY AND WENT INTO THE HOUSE. APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS LATER SHE HEARD THE ALARM GO OFF AND WENT OUTSIDE TO INVESTIGATE. THE CAR HAD DARK TINTS ON THE WINDOWS BUT THE CAR LOOKED DARKER THAN NORMAL THEN SHE REALIZED SHE COULDN'T SEE IN THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS FULL OF BLACK SMOKE. A FEW SECONDS LATER SHE SAW A SPARK COMING FROM THE MIDDLE SECTION OF THE DASH BOARD THEN ALL THE WINDOWS BLEW OUT AT ONCE AND THE CAR BURST INTO FLAMES. SHE CALLED 911 AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT MANAGED TO KEEP THE FIRE FROM SPREADING TO MY HOUSE AND MY NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE. THE FIRE WAS SO HOT IT MELTED THE FRAMES OF MY WINDOWS AND SCORCHED THE SIDING ON THAT SIDE OF THE HOUSE. THE TREE, BUSHES , GRASS AND LIRIOPE ON THAT SIDE OF THE HOUSE CAUGHT ON FIRE AND THERE IS GLASS ALL OVER MY YARD. THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. I UNDERSTAND THAT FORD HAS HAD SIMILAR FIRES IN THE PAST WITH EARLIER MODELS. APPARENTLY THEY HAVE NOT FIXED ALL OF THE PROBLEMS. THE CAR WAS WORKING WELL UNTIL THE DAY IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE ARSON INVESTIGATOR SAID THAT IT LOOKED LIKE IT MIGHT HAVE STARTED IN THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM. NOW I AM READING THAT FORD HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH A "DEFECTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH THAT HAS CAUSED TRUCKS TO GO UP IN FLAMES? SIMILAR TO HOW MY EXPEDITION WAS DESTROYED. I ALSO READ THAT FORD EXPEDITIONS AS WELL AS OTHER FORD TRUCKS HAVE HAD A ?POSSIBLE DEFECT IN THE SPEED CONTROL DEACTIVATION SWITCH?. THE ARTICLE STATED THAT, ?SOME SWITCHES COULD LEAK. THERE IS NO WAY TO ACCELERATE ENOUGH TO PASS THE VEHICLE YOU'RE ATTEMPTING TO PASS UNLESS THEY SLOW DOWN FOR YOU SO THE ONLY OPTION IS TO COAST AND RESUME YOUR POSITION BEHIND THE VEHICLE YOU WERE ATTEMPTING TO PASS. THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES THAT I REMEMBER. UNFORTUNATELY IT ONLY NEEDS TO HAPPEN ONCE IN THE WRONG SITUATION TO HAVE POTENTIALLY DEADLY CONSEQUENCES. I HAVE RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE BEEN ADVISED THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. I'VE DONE THIS TWICE AND NOW IT APPEARS TO BE NEEDED AGAIN AFTER ONLY 3 OR 4 MONTHS. WE HEADED TOWARDS A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE MOTOR STALLED AGAIN, NOW ON A BUSY FREEWAY - AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, WHILE COASTING, THE MOTOR DID RESTART. THAT DEALERSHIP HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 24 HOURS BUT FOUND NOTHING. THEIR COMMENT: "IT IS RUNNING FINE NOW - IT IS LIKELY ELECTRONIC - TAKE IT TO YOUR LOCAL DEALER". WE LEFT THE NEXT DAY FOR THE 240 MILE TRIP HOME. WE WERE ON A MAJOR FREEWAY DURING "RUSH HOUR" EXTREMELY CONGESTED TRAFFIC (DUE TO CONSTRUCTION) WHEN THE MOTOR STALLED ONCE AGAIN. WE HAD JUST MERGED FROM 2 LANES TO 1 AND MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO "MUSCLE THE VEHICLE" INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND ONTO THE SHOULDER. THIS TIME, AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS, NOTHING. WE WERE STRANDED ON A MAJOR FREEWAY WITH 2 DOGS AND ENDLESS 65 MPH TRAFFIC FLYING BY. AFTER UNLOADING OUR DOGS INTO THE MIDST OF THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION, OUR 2010 EXPEDITION WAS LOADED ONTO A FLATBED TRUCK TO BE HAULED THE 65 MILES REMAINING TO OUR HOME (AND THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE). AFTER 3 DAYS OF DIAGNOSTICS FOUND NOTHING, SOMEONE AT FORD (DETROIT) SUGGESTED THE "WIGGLE-WIRE" TEST BEFORE, AS A LAST RESORT, REPLACING THE COMPUTER SYSTEM. WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, THE WIRES WERE WIGGLED UNTIL ONE ACTUALLY STOPPED THE ENGINE. IT HAD BEEN "CRIMPED", AS WIRES WERE "MERGED" FROM MANY TO A FEW AT THE FACTORY, EVENTUALLY CAUSING A SHORT. THE STALLING ENGINE COULD EASILY HAVE RESULTED IN AN HORRIFIC ACCIDENT. AND, I AM NOT CONVINCED IT IS TRULY "FIXED".

AS SOON AS I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, THE ENGINE RACED, I HEARD THE TIRES SKID AND THE TRUCK LURCHED FORWARD FAST OUT OF MY CONTROL. I IMMEDIATELY PRESSED HARD ON THE BRAKE WITH BOTH FEET, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE. MY TRUCK WAS GOING TOO FAST TO STOP AND IT REAR-ENDED THE BLUE TRUCK. AFTER THE IMPACT, I IMMEDIATELY PUT MY TRUCK IN PARK, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND GOT OUT TO CHECK ON THE PASSENGERS OF THE BLUE TRUCK. THE LADY DRIVER OF THE BLUE TRUCK GOT OUT TOO. I ASKED THE LADY DRIVER IF SHE WAS ALRIGHT. SHE OPENED THE BACK DOOR TO HER TRUCK AND I SAW TWO GIRLS IN THE BACK SEAT. I ALSO ASKED THE LADY IF HER CHILDREN WERE OKAY AND SHE SAID THEY WERE. THE LADY DRIVER OF THE BLUE TRUCK AND I WENT TO THE BACK OF HER TRUCK TO LOOK AT THE DAMAGE. THE TRUCKS WERE FAR ENOUGH APART FOR US TO STAND BETWEEN THEM. HER TRUCK HAD SCRATCHES AND THE TAILGATE WAS DENTED. THE FRONT END OF MY TRUCK WAS DAMAGED FROM THE IMPACT AND THE TRAILER HITCH ON THE BLUE TRUCK. AS WE WERE LOOKING AT THE DAMAGE, I HEARD A LOUD MOAN COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BLUE TRUCK. I WALKED OVER AND SAW ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES, A LADY ABOUT MY SIZE, ON THE GROUND BETWEEN THE BLUE TRUCK AND THE CURB. TWO OTHER EMPLOYEES WERE TRYING TO HELP HER. AT THAT MOMENT, THE MANGER OF THE CAR WASH CAME AROUND THE CORNER TOWARD US AND I TOLD HIM TO CALL 911. THE EMPLOYEE WAS CARE FLIGHTED TO THE HOSPITAL

AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS HARD T GET STOPPED AND VIBRATED. UPON INSPECTION THE BRAKE PADS HAD CRYSTALLIZED AND MELTED THE ROTORS. THERE WAS NO WARNING THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS FAILING. I OWN A 2010 FORD EXPEDITION EL. THIS IS THE 2ND 2010 FORD EXPEDITION EL THAT I HAVE OWNED WITH PROBLEMS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY'S STANCE IS THAT THEY ARE REPLACING THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS UNDER WARRANTY, HOWEVER THEY CAN NOT TELL ME WHAT CAUSED THIS, AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO GET AN ENGINEER INVOLVED.
