TRUCK IS EXPERIENCING THE 'DEATH WOBBLE'. VIOLENT SHAKING AND BOUNCING OF THE FRONT END AND STEERING ASSEMBLY. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES- ALWAYS AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AFTER HITTING A CHANGE IN PAVEMENT SURFACE- BRIDGE JOINT; POTHOLE, ROUGH ROAD. BOTH WHEN EMPTY AND WHEN TOWING A TRAVEL TRAILER. HAS HAPPENS GOING STRAIGHT AND ALSO ON CURVES. THE VIOLENT SHAKING CONTINUES UNTIL THE TRUCK SLOWS DOWN TO A CERTAIN POINT (UNDER 30 MPH?) THEN IT RETURNS TO NORMAL OPERATIONS. HAVING TO SLOW DOWN ON THE FREEWAY IS DANGEROUS! THERE ARE NUMEROUS ARTICLES, VIDEOS, ETC ONLINE THAT DETAIL THE PROBLEM. THERE IS ALSO A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT (I AM NOT PARTY TO IT ). FORD NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM AND FIX IT! THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED! IT IS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS AND IF THE DRIVER PANICS OR ISN'T SKILLED IT COULD RESULT IN A VERY SERIOUS CRASH. FROM WHAT I HAVE LEARNED FORD'S RECOMMENDED FIX DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. CUSTOMERS SPEND A LOT OF MONEY REPLACING PARTS BUT THAT ISN'T THE SOLUTION. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. MY TRUCK IS BONE STOCK AND WELL MAINTAINED. THIS IS AN ENGINEERING DEFECT, NOT A CUSTOMER MAINTENANCE ISSUE.

PERIODIC LOSS OF CONTROL DUE TO EXTREME SHIMMY OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE FORD DEATH WOBBLE. ALTHOUGH THE TRUCK IS A 2010 IT NOW HAS 40,463 MILES, HAS NO OFF ROAD USE, TIRES KEPT BALANCED AND ROTATED PER FORD SERVICE, HAS BEEN TREATED LIKE A BABY AND IS STILL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE PROBLEM STARTED OCCURRING AROUND 30,000 MILES. AT UNPREDICTABLE TIMES THE FRONT OF THE TRUCK WILL VIOLENTLY START SHAKING AT SPEEDS ABOVE ABOUT 50 MPH. I HAVE RUN INTO A DITCH WHILE TRYING TO REGAIN CONTROL, OTHER TIMES HAVE SWERVED OUT OF MY LANE OF TRAFFIC. THIS CONDITION RENDERS THE $59,000 TRUCK HIGHLY DANGEROUS. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE TRUCK. THE FORD DEALER SAID THEY COULD REPAIR THE TRUCK FOR ABOUT $1000 BUT THIS IS NOT MY FAULT, ALL PROPER MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN DONE. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN GENTLY DRIVEN. FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO RECALL AND REPAIR THE TRUCK. THE PROBLEM STARTED AT ABOUT 30,000 MILES. THE LATEST OCCURRENCE WAS JUNE 7, 2020. *TR

WE RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS AS A USED TRUCK, PRIVATE SALE. WHEN TRAVELING OVER 45 MPH, IF VEHICLE HITS A BUMP OR CATCHES A RIDGE, THE STEERING CREATES A FEEDBACK THAT VIOLENTLY SHAKES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. IMMEDIATE, RAPID HARD BRAKING IS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS OCCURS FREQUENTLY, IS COMMONLY KNOWN AS FORD DEATH WOBBLE, IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO RECALL.

WE HAVE A 2010 FORD F250 SUPERDUTY DIESLE WITH APPROX 105K MILES ON IT. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE CITY HIGHWAY (ROUTE 15 SOUTH IN WILLIAMSPORT, PA) AT APPROXIMATELY 64 MPH I WAS ON A BRIDGE THAT THE ROAD TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT TO MERGE INTO ANOTHER HIGHWAY AND WHEN I HIT THE EXPANSION JOINT THE TRUCK STARTED TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE OUT OF CONTROL BOUNCING THE TRUCK TOWARD THE RAIL GUARD. I APPLIED THE BREAKS TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN. IT TOOK ALL THE STREGNTH I HAD IN MY ARMS TO KEEP THE TRUCK ON THE ROAD. WHEN AT APPROX 35MPH THE SHAKING FINALLY SUBSIDED. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN OUR TRUCK. MY HUSBAND HAS EXPERIENCED IT A FEW TIMES. AFTER RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THAT THERE IS A FORD TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 18-2268 FOR THIS AND IT IS BEING CALLED THE DEATH WOBBLE. WE ARE TAKING OUR TRUCK IN TOMORROW TO BE SERVICED AT OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER, BUT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE AND SHOULD BE A FORD RECALL. EVERYTHING I AM READING ONLINE IS POINTING TO A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE STEERING LINKAGE DAMPER/ADJUST ASSEMBLY AND CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE AXLE AND THE BEARINGS IN THE HUB ASSEMBLY. ALWAYS OCCURS AT SPEEDS ABOVE 55 MPH SEEMING TO RESULT AFTER A SLIGHT BUMP OR SEAM IN THE ROAD IS PASSED. FOR INSTANCE AFTER HITTING A BRIDGE SEAM AT 65 MPH EXPERIENCED SUDDEN, VIOLENT VIBRATION THAT ONLY RESOLVED AFTER THE TRUCK SLOWED CONSIDERABLY. COULDN'T EFFECTIVELY STEER JUST HELD ON AND LUCKILY DIDN'T HIT OTHER CARS BUT THAT WAS DUE TO EVASIVE ACTION BY OTHER DRIVERS.

ISSUE #1 AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND AFTER HITTING A BAD BUMP ON ROAD, THE TRUCK WOULD GO INTO AN UNCONTROLLABLE WHEEL HOP. THE ONLY WAY TO BRING VEHICLE BACK UNDER CONTROL IS TO SLOW DOWN BELOW 40 MPH. THIS NEARLY CAUSED A WRECK ON THE INTERSTATE. ISSUE #2. THE TRUCK CAB BUSHINGS WILL CRUMBLE IN YOUR HAND. THIS CAUSES A VERY HARSH RIDE OVER ANY TYPE OF BUMPS. I WAS TOLD BY FORD DEALERSHIP THIS IS NOT COVERED EVEN THOUGH THERE IS ONLY 62K MILES ON IT. IT COST OVER $1600 TO HAVE THESE 2 ISSUES FIXED. I HAVE 3 OTHER FRIENDS WITH THE SAME YEAR MODEL TRUCK THAT HAD TO HAVE THE SAME THINGS REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP SAY THEY REPLACE THE SAME THINGS ON 3 TO 4 TRUCKS A MONTH. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FORD SHOULD BE REPLACING FREE OF CHARGE.

SINCE I HAVE OWNED THIS TRUCK FROM 2010 TO CURRENT I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS AND A TRANSMISSION OVERFLOW RELIEF VALVE. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS KEEP POPPING THE STUDS WHICH ALLOWS FUMES INSIDE THE TRUCK UPON A $2000.00 BILL EVERY TIME... THIS ISSUE COULD CAUSE THE WHOLE EXHAUST SYSTEM TO FALL RIGHT OUT FROM UNDER THE TRUCK WHILE DRIVING. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THE TRANS OVERFLOW....EVERYTIME IT HAPPENS IT SPITS THE FLUID OUT ALL OVER THE EXHAUST WHICH CAUSES A FIRE EVERYTIME. I HAVE BEEN REPORTING THESE PROBLEMS SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED THE TRUCK.THESE PROBLEMS NEED TO BE ADRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR WORSE.

Summary

I WAS DRIVING 75 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON INTERSTATE 69 BETWEEN SHEPPARD AND CLEVELAND TEXAS AND THE VEHICLE STALLED AND DIED IN THE INSIDE LANE. WHEN I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IT WAS FLASHING A GREEN WRENCH AND WOULD ONLY RESTART IN A REDUCED POWER MODE. FORD DEALER DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS CRANK CASE OVERFILLED BY 13 QUARTS DUE TO FAILED HPFP. THIS WAS A NEW FORD ENGINE WITH ONLY 13,000 MILES ON IT WITH A 24 MONTH UNLIMITED MILEAGE WARRANTY. DEALER ADVISED THAT FORD WILL COVER HPFP REPLACEMENT BUT WILL VOID BALANCE OF WARRANTY IF I DO NOT PAY $7,000 TO REPLACE ALL OTHER FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM COMPONENTS. FORD BASES DETERMINATION ON UPLOADED PHOTOS FROM DEALER THAT THEY CLAIM SHOW EVIDENCE OF "RUST" WHICH THEY CLAIM INDICATES FUEL CONTAMINATION. THEIR PHOTOS WERE OF THE HPFP STRAIGHT OFF THE TRUCK AND COVERED WITH DEISEL. AND WHAT THEY CLAIM IS RUST IS ACTUALLY LIGHT REFRACTION OF THE DEISEL (PHOTO LABELED HPFP WITH DEISEL) I WITNESSED BOTH THE REMOVAL AND THE PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE PUMP. AT THAT TIME I ASKED THAT THE DEISEL BE WIPED OFF BEFORE THE PHOTOS BUT WAS TOLD THAT THAT WAS NOT ALLOWED. I RETURNED TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND RETRIEVED THE PUMP FOR INDEPENDENT TESTING FOR RUST AND TOOK PHOTOS AFTER WIPING OFF THE DEISEL. PHOTO LABLELED WITHOUT DEISEL FORD RECOMMENDED VERBALLY THAT I CHECK TO SEE IF MY AUTO INSURANCE COVERS CONTAMINIATED FULE BUT THEN REFUSED TO GIVE ME ANYTHING IN WRITING, INSTEAD REFERRING ME TO FORD OGC REVEIWING THE INTERNET I SEE THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED EVENT. THESE BOSCH HPFP HAVE BEEN FAILING FOR YEARS. IT IS A DISGRACE THAT FORD IS EXTORTING - COERCING ME TO PAY FOR THE BALANCE OF THE INJECTION SYSTEM WHILE ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAILED HPFP. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?

THEN THE WHINE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A BELT ENDED UP BEING BROKE OFF EXHAUST BOLTS ON MANIFOLD. 16 HRS AT $1300 PLUS PARTS MAYBE ANOTHER $130. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS FORD AT ALL. Summary

WHILE DRIVING ON ANY HIGHWAY IF YOU HIT A SMALL BUMP OR GO OVER AN OVERPASS AT A SPEED GREATER THAN 35MPH THE SUSPENSION AND FRONT WHEELS START SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND THE STEERING WILL LOSE CONTROL. YOU HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP BEFORE IT WILL STOP. THE VIOLENT WHEEL AND SUSPENSION OSCILLATION CAN CAUSE THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL. SINCE THIS OCCURS ON MAJOR OVERPASSES AND TURNS IT HAS AN INCREASED LIKELIHOOD OF CAUSING ACCIDENTS WHICH COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THE STEERING AND SUSPENSION ISSUE COULD CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. THE NHTSA MUST INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE WITH FORD IMMEDIATELY OR IT WILL RESULT IN HIGHWAY ACCIDENTS THAT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THERE IS AN OVERWHELMING AMOUNT OF CONSUMER COMPLAINTS AND DATA TO SUGGEST THE ISSUE IS WIDESPREAD AND THAT THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE SUSPENSION AND STEERING OF THESE VEHICLES. A FEDERAL INVESTIGATION IS NEEDED ALONG WITH A MANUFACTURER RECALL OF THE DANGEROUSLY DEFECTIVE SUSPENSION AND STEERING ASSEMBLIES OF THESE VEHICLES.

A FEW DAYS LATER I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I DIDN'T HIT A POTHOLE OR ANY OBSTRUCTION. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, IF I'M NOT PAYING ATTENTION OR DON'T HAVE BOTH HANDS ON THE WHEEL, THERE IS A SERIOUS RISK I WILL CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT AS THIS RATHER LARGE TRUCK WANTS TO GO CAREENING ACROSS MULTIPLE LANES OF TRAFFIC UNTIL THE SPEED IS REDUCED TO BELOW ~40MPH AND THE VIOLENT SHUDDERING CEASES. WHILE TRAVELLING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THROUGH A CURVED AREA OF HIGHWAY, VEHICLE HIT A SMALL BUMP. VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY IN THE FRONT END AND STEERING WHEEL. SHE ADVISED ME THAT SHE SAW THE INCIDENT AND SAID THAT MY FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE LOOKED LIKE IT WAS ABOUT TO FALL OFF. I CHECKED SUSPENSION AND DID NOT NOTICE ANY OBVIOUS PROBLEM. I CHECKED LUG NUTS AND ALL WERE TIGHT. I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM A VACATION AND CONTINUED DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 125 MORE MILES WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER RESEARCHING ON INTERNET, I AM SURE THAT I EXPERIENCED WHAT IS BEING REFERRED TO ON THE INTERNET AS THE "DEATH WOBBLE" MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 59,000 MILES AND IS ALL STOCK. TIRES HAVE RELATIVELY GOOD TREAD AND WERE INFLATED AT PROPER PRESSURE. I THINK THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AND SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND I AM FORTUNATE THAT IT DID NOT. IT FELT VERY DANGEROUS. THE FRONT END OF THIS TRUCK SHAKES VIOLENTLY TO THE POINT OF ALMOST CAUSING IT TO FALL APART. THIS HAPPENS WHEN YOU HIT ANY UNEVEN ROAD ABOVE 55 MPH. YOU CAN'T STEER AND HAVE TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND BRING THE VEHICLE DOWN TO ABOUT 30MPH BEFORE IT STOPS. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME ON THE FREEWAY AND HAVING TO STOP AND BRING IT DOWN TO 30MPH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN LOS ANGELES. *TR

Summary

WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 60MPH ON LOOP 250 HERE IN MIDLAND, TX I WENT OVER AN OVERPASS CHANGING FROM THE PAVEMENT TO CONCRETE. AT THAT POINT I COMPLETELY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO VERY BAD FRONT WHEEL WOBBLE. I WAS ONLY ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL BY COMING TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP VERY CLOSELY AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE NOTICED THIS DEATH WOBBLE BEFORE ON MY 2007 FORD F-250 AND NOW IT HAS STARTED ON MY 2010. I TOOK THE 2007 TO THE DEALER MANY TIMES AND THEY COULD NEVER DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM OR WOULD USE AN EXCUSE THAT THEY ADJUSTED THE AIR PRESSURE ON TIRES. THIS PROBLEM IS A MAJOR ISSUE AND WILL CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENTS IF IT HAS NOT ALREADY. AFTER ARRIVING AT WORK I SEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR OTHERS WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND IT SEEMS ALL FORD F-250 4X4'S HAVE THE SAME ISSUE ALL THEY WAY UP TO THE CURRENT MODEL. THERE ARE TONS OF YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOWING EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME STATING THAT FORD WILL NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE! Summary

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2010 F-250 SD, 6.4L PICKUP. I WAS DRIVING ALONG A CITY SURFACE STREET AND LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR, AND NOTICED A THICK WHITE CLOUD BANK BILLOWING BEHIND ME, GENERATING FROM MY EXHAUST PIPE. I ABOUT HAD A HEART ATTACK, THINKING MY TRUCK JUST BLEW AN ENGINE. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE IT BACK TO HAVE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO FIX IT. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT,? FORD IS AWARE OF THE SMOKING ISSUE AND CONSIDERS THIS NORMAL WITH NO FIX?. THEY MENTIONED THIS COULD BE CAUSED BY MOISTURE CONDENSATION. THAT DOESN'T SEEM FEASIBLE SINCE HERE IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST THERE?S MOISTURE IN THE AIR JUST ABOUT ALL YEAR LONG. THE TRUCK CONTINUES TO BLEACH THIS HEAVY, THICK SMOKE, ABOUT EVERY 20 TO 40 MILES, FOR APPROX. 45-120 SECONDS. I?M CONCERNED ABOUT THIS BEING A PUBLIC HAZARD/SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN IT BILLOWS, I CAN SEE CARS PEELING OUT FROM BEHIND ME, THINKING MY TRUCK IS ON FIRE. I'VE EVEN HAD PEOPLE PULL ALONG SIDE MY TRUCK AND GIVE ME AN EARFUL, ALONG WITH SEVERAL OBSCENE GESTURES. IT'S IRONIC THAT THIS 6.4L DIESEL ENGINE HAS BEEN ADVERTISED AS CLEAN BURNING, LESS POLLUTION, IF A POLICE OFFICER OBSERVES THIS, I COULD GET A TRAFFIC CITATION. WE HAVE EXPRESSED OUR SAFETY CONCERNS AS WELL AS CONCERN FOR THE ENVIRONMENT AND RE-SALE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, (NOT TO MENTION HOW EMBARRASSING THIS IS WHEN THE TRUCK BILLOWS). MANY PHONE CONVERSATIONS HAVE TAKEN PLACE WITH THE SERVICE DEPT. AS WELL AS BRINGING THE TRUCK BACK AND WE STILL CANNOT GET THIS RESOLVED. IT'S A HEAD SCRATCHER TO ME AS TO WHY THE SALESMAN DIDN'T MENTION THIS ISSUE WHEN WE FIRST LOOKED AT THE TRUCK, SURELY HE SHOULD KNOW THE PRODUCT HE IS TRYING TO GET RID OF. *TR

YOU DRIVE THIS TRUCK ON ROUGH ROADS AND THE TRUCK IS BOUNCING ALL OVER AND CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL WHICH MADE ME GO OFF THE ROAD. AS SOON AS YOU HIT BUMPS THE TRUCK SWAYS EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT WHICH HAS GOT ME IN CLOSE CALL FOR AN ACCIDENT. THEN THIS TRUCK LOOSES ALL THE CONTROL PANEL AND SMOKES IN THE CAB AFTER 3 TRIES THEY REPLACED A MODULE THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME WHAT IT IS. FORD KEEPS TELLING ME THIS TRUCK HAS STABILITY ISSUES AND ITS JUST THE WAY IT IS. PLEASE CHECK INTO THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. THE PLOW WHICH CAME WITH THE TRUCK FULLY UP HITS THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING WHICH THEY THE DEALER SAYS IS NORMAL BUT COULD GET HUNG UP CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. YOU REALLY NEED TO SEE AND TRY THIS TRUCK FOR YOURSELF TO SEE HOW UNSAFE IT IS. *TT

2010 F-250 40K MILES HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP SINCE PURCHASED 14 SERVICE REPAIRS AND 8 OF THE 14 REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MAJOR, TRANSMISSION WAS LEAKING AND DOWN SHIFTING WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, HAD TO BE REPAIRED, CRUISE CONTROL WENT OUT WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AND THE TRUCK LOST ALL POWER WHILE ON A HIGHLY CONGESTED HIGHWAY, IT HAS HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A FEW TIMES NOW, DEFECTIVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FUEL, SPEEDOMETER. EGR VALVES WENT OUT AND STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF A INTERSECTION WITH A 30 FOOT TRAILER, WHICH THAT HAPPENED TWICE, FORD SAYS WELL THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ANY OTHER VEHICLES THAT THEY HAVE DEALT WITH. THIS HAS RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES, WHICH CAUSES TRAFFIC CONGESTION AND COULD POSSIBLY RESULT IN MAJOR ISSUES OR ACCIDENTS, TRUCK WAS PURCHASED TO HAUL A TRAILER AND WE DO NOT TRUST IT AT ALL SINCE IT HAS BROKE DOWN SO MANY TIMES. WHEN YOU PRESS THE ACCELERATOR LOADED OR UNLOADED IT HAS A HESITATION BEFORE IT GOES, SOMETIMES IT TAKES AWHILE TO GET UP TO SPEED, FUEL INJECTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED ALSO. WHEN THE CLEANING EXHAUST SYSTEM IS ON IT STARTS TO DECELERATE AND YOU LOSE A GOOD AMOUNT OF POWER. *KB

THE DPF / CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER INITIATED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION, THUS, DRASTICALLY REDUCING THE BOOST AND POWER TO THE VEHICLE WHEN IT WAS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL. THE DRASTIC LOSS OF BOOST AND POWER PUT ME IN IMMINENT DANGER DUE TO ON COMING TRAFFIC AND MY VEHICLE AND I WERE IN THE BROADSIDE POSITION. A MOTORIST HAD TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION TO AVOID SLAMMING INTO THE SIDE OF MY VEHICLE BY RIDING ONTO AND OVER THE MEDIAN. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO RETRIEVE HIS NAME AND PHONE NUMBER. I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE TEAM FORD LAS VEGAS FOR REPAIR, HOWEVER, THE TRUCK CHECKED OUT ACCORDING TO FORD'S SPECIFICATION. ON 3/10/11 SERVICE MANAGER BOB RAHALA CONTACTED FORD CONSUMER RELATIONS IN MY PRESENCE AND THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED "FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WE ARE WORKING ON IT; YOU WILL BE CONTACTED WITHIN 48 HOURS WITH THE FURTHER INFORMATION". I RECEIVED THE CALL FROM FORD CONSUMER RELATIONS 23 HOURS LATER AND THE REPRESENTATIVE STATED "THE TRUCK IS OPERATING ACCORDING TO SPEC, THERE IS NO PROBLEM". PLEASE BE ADVISED, FORD IS AWARE OF THE BOOST AND POWER LOSS WHEN THE CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER MODE IS IN EFFECT. MY FORD CASE NUMBER IS 0527870691 WHICH FORD CLOSED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT REQUIRES ACTION IMMEDIATELY.

WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS FOR AT LEAST 15-20 MINUTES, THEN WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN OR COME TO A STOP. THE PROBLEM MANIFESTS ITSELF. ENGINE BEGINS TO HESITATE, SPUTTER, SHAKE AND LEADS TO A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER AND BEGINS TO BLOW TONS OF WHITE SMOKE, I , MEAN A CLOUD OF SMOKE. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME IT IS HUMID OR RAINING OUT AND EVEN IN BETWEEN. IT HAS HAPPENED FROM DAY ONE. JUST PICTURE THIS SCENARIO PLAYING OUT, AS YOU ATTEMPT TO CROSS A BUSY INTERSECTION, PASSING OR GETTING ON A HIGHWAY, PULLING A TRAILER AND CLIMBING A HILL OR MOUNTAIN TOTALLY DANGEROUS CONDITION. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT OF THE SAME CONDITION MANIFESTING ITSELF.THE EVIDENCE IS ON THE INTERNET DIESEL FORUMS AND BLOGS AND FORD SAYS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THIS CONDITION DOES NOT GENERATE ANY TROUBLE CODES OR LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD, WHAT A NIGHTMARE : VEHICLES AFFECTED ARE FORD F-250,350,450 ETC SUPERDUTY 6.4L DIESEL ENGINE IT IS A SHAME THAT YOU PAY UPWARDS OF $ 50,000.00 OR MORE FOR THESE VEHICLES AND THEY ARE POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING AND THE MANUFACTURER ONLY MAKES EXCUSES FOR AN OBVIOUS MODEL WIDE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM/ CONDITION HAS MANIFESTED OVER 25 TIMES IN MY VEHICLE IN ONLY 6 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP. I AM SCARED TO PASS, PULL TRAILERS, CROSS INTERSECTIONS BECAUSE THIS CONDITION LEAVES THE CAR POWERLESS FOR MULTIPLE SECONDS AT WILL REPEATEDLY. WE NEED YOUR HELP, TO FORCE THE MANUFACTURER TO COME CLEAN AND OWN UP TO THIS DEFECT ONCE AND FOR ALL IT AFFECTS 2008-2010 MODEL YEARS, THEY HAVE A TSB FOR THIS ON THE FIRST BUILD OF VEHICLES, THERE ARE 3 BUILDS I BELIEVE, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM IS STILL PRESENT IN THE LATER BUILDS. WOW UNBELIEVABLE. *TR

Summary

I BOUGHT A 2010 FORD F 250 SUPER DUTY TRUCK ON JUNE 11 2010. I BEGAN TO HAVE INTERMITTENT BRAKE PROBLEMS (NO STOPPING) THE PROBLEM INCREASED UNTIL I WAS ALMOST UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE ( AT 15 MPH ) WITH ALL MY WEIGHT ON THE PEDAL ( ALL 240 POUNDS OF ME). I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO THE DEALER SHIP (HARPER MOTORS MID CITY FORD IN EUREKA CA.) IT HAS BEEN THERE FOR TWO DAYS. TODAY I WAS INFORMED THAT A FORD ENGINEER HAD BEEN THERE AND NOT ONLY WERE THEY ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM IN MY TRUCK. THAT THEY SUBSEQUENTLY TOOK OTHER BRAND NEW 2010 F 250'S ON THE LOT AND WERE ABLE TO GET SIMILAR FAILURES IN THOSE VEHICLES. I WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THIS, THAT THEY BELIEVED THAT IT WAS AN INHERENT PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. I AM REFUSING TO TAKE THE TRUCK BACK AS I HAUL HEAVY LOADS IN MY CONTRACTING BUSINESS AND CAN NOT DRIVE A VEHICLE THAT WILL NOT STOP. I AM AMAZED AT THE CAVALIER ATTITUDE OF THIS DEALERSHIP, BUT NOT SURPRISED AS I HAVE HAD PREVIOUS PROBLEMS THERE OVER THE YEARS. I WILL ALSO BE ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE WITH AN ATTORNEY AS I BELIEVE THEY WILL BE STUBBORN AND DIFFICULT TO MOVE FROM THEIR POSITION FROM WHAT I HAVE HEARD SO FAR. I HAVE AS OF YET, BEEN UNABLE TO CONTACT FORD MOTOR CORPORATION REGARDING THIS PROBLEM AND BELIEVE THIS IS A GOOD START HERE. *TR
