I purchased this vehicle for my 16 yr old daughter 1 yr ago. The car has a clean carfax and has had no accidents. Upon purchasing the car the headlights continue to burn out. Taking it to a Mazda dealership i learned the headlight assembly unit was melting. I had to purchase 2 used headlight assembly because new from the dealership are 1,000 a piece. 2 used but perfectly working headlights were installed and within a yr the headlights had burned out again. I went to change the bulbs only to learn the headlight assembly were once again burnt. I have to purchase 2 new headlight assembly again but the mechanic can not guarantee that this burning situation won't occur. After calling around to places to find headlight assembly I have come to find out many are burnt. This seems like a real problem considering you need headlights to drive at night. Spending 1,000 everytime my headlights burn out seems 100% unreasonable and the fact that there is cleary a wiring issue within the headlight assembly unit itself seems to be a problem. I have been on multiple forums and this is a common issue. Please fix the problem!!!!!!

after exiting the highway at 65+mph turned the corner and the rear of the car dropped and started dragging the ground without warning . pulled over to see rear suspension on the ground .i contacted dealer about it and they seem to be aware of similar complaints but do not seem to care .could have been different outcome one minute earlier !! this is the second time the frame collapsed on me in this car the first time was the recall 2818l same thing broke without warning . this is bad metal in the frames and someone is gonna die before mazda admits the cars are unsafe as lots of these cars are still on the road .

Consumer stated there is significant rust on on side, where control arm attaches to steering. Vehicle has been repaired.

The wheels were turning in and the steering was really hard to keep straight had to turn the steering wheel almost half around car make Loud screaming noises.tires went flat ..i have 6 grandkids lucky I wasn't going fast the car could of flipped .subframe broke in half on passenger side rusted right out.i got this car from right way dealership in Saginaw Michigan in march of 2019 they never told me or never contacted me that there was a recall for the subframe breaking.could of killed someone!!!!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

I THEN I SAW D LIGHT DISAPPEAR ON THE PANEL AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN VERY HIGH RPM MODE. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING I SAFELY TRIED TO PULL ON THE RIGHT AND STOPPED TO SEE WHATS WRONG BUT COULDN'T FOUND ANYTHING. I TURNED OFF VEHICLE FOR A MINUTE AND STARTED AGAIN. IT WORKED FINE FOR 5 MIN AND AS SOON AS I REACHED 55 OR 60 MPH THE D LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AGAIN AND AGAIN I GOT HIGH RPMS AND JERK. IT ALMOST HAD CAUSED THE ACCIDENT AS THE OTHER VEHICLE ALMOST HIT ME FROM THE BACK. IT FELT LIKE ENGINE BRAKING. THEN I DROVE VERY LOW SPPED ON INNER CITY ROAD WITH MY BLINKERS ON TO REACH HOME SAFELY. NOW DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT IT WILL COST ME MINIMUM $3000 TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. I THINK ITS A KNOW ISSUE TO MAZDA AND THEY SHOULD FIX MY VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ATLEAST. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCDONALD MAZDA (10345 W COLFAX AVE, LAKEWOOD, CO 80215, (720) 449-9900) WHERE THE CROSS MEMBER WAS INSPECTED, BUT THEY REFUSED TO INSTALL A SIDE MEMBER (FOR REINFORCEMENT). THE DEALER ALSO HAD NOT REPLACED THE AIR CONDITIONER DRAIN HOSE AND NO RUST PROOFING WAS APPLIED TO THE CROSS MEMBER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO NON-COMPLIANCE OF THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT BEING DRIVEN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,981. *BF CONSUMER STATED UPON SEEING THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE I IMMEDIATEDLY NOTICED CORROSION COVERING LARGE PORTIONS OF THE CROSS MEMBER. THERE WERE SEVERAL CORRODED MOUNTING HOLES AND LARGE WELDS THAT HAD SIGNS OF ADVANCED DECAY. THE DAMAGE WAS OBVIOUS AND I TOOK SEVERAL PICTURES AND RECORDED A VIDEO SHOWING THE WIDESPEAD CORROSION. WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN, I HIT THE BRAKES TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH SOMEONE WHO PULLED IN FRONT OF ME AND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL LOCKED INTO A POSITION TURNED TO THE RIGHT. IT SEEMS THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE IN 2018 FOR CERTAIN STATES, AND WHILE I DO NOT CURRENTLY RESIDE IN ONE OF THE AFFECTED STATES, I USED TO AND MY CAR DID FOR MOST OF ITS LIFE.

FOR SOME REASON THE BRAKE ROTOR ON THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL WARPS VERY QUICKLY AFTER DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. THE ROTOR THAT WARPS MAKES THE STEERING WHEEL SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL STEERING. ALSO WHEN BRAKING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE SHAKING DECREASES IF THE BRAKE PEDAL IS STOMPED ON HARD BUT THIS RESULTS IN "BRAKE CHECKING" THE VEHICLE THAT IS FOLLOWING BEHIND THE CAR. TO TRY TO CORRECT THE ISSUE THE FRONT ROTORS WERE MACHINED SEVERAL TIMES, REPLACED, MACHINED AGAIN BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. AT LOWER SPEEDS THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD AND BACK FORWARD AND BACK AS THE BRAKE CATCHES AND RELEASES THE WARPED ROTOR.

I HAVE THE OPEN AND DANGEROUS RECALL ( # 2818I ) STILL PENDING AT THIS TIME. IT WAS HARD ENOUGH JUST TO GET THE DEALERSHIP, IN ORDER TO INSPECT THE CAR FOR CORROSION IN THE CONCERNING AREAS. I DON'T FEEL THAT THE CAR IS SAFE TO DRIVE AT THIS TIME AND PREFER THAT NO ONE RIDES WITH ME WHEN DRIVING IT, JUST FOR THE SAFETY OF OTHERS. THE TECH WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM THE JOB AS HE STATED HE COULD NOT REMOVE THE SUB-FRAME AND KEEP IT IN TACT. THE TECH REPORTED THAT THIS CREATED A HAZARDOUS AND UNSAFE CONDITION AND THAT UNTIL REPAIRED WITH A NEW OR OTHER-WISE IN-TACT SUB-FRAME THE CAR WOULD BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. UPON CHECKING ON-LINE I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS QUICKLY BECOMING A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE MAZDA 6 OF THIS MODEL YEAR (2009 TO 2019). LEFT HER HOUSE AFTER AN HOUR, DROVE TWO BLOCKS AND CAR COMPLETELY LOST ALL STEERING, LIGHTS ON DASHBOARD STARTED FLASHING, BRAKES WENT. CALLED AAA AND WAS TOWED TO STEVE'S SERVICE STATION WHERE ON MONDAY THE CAR WAS DEEMED "TOTALED". THE ENTIRE SUB-CARRIAGE WAS COVERED IN RUST & CORROSION, THERE WERE HOLES, PIECES OF METAL FROM THE CAR MISSING AND MAJOR CRACKS ALL UNDERNEATH AND ENCASING THE BRAKES AND OTHER PART OF CAR. LATER THAT EVENING WHEN I WENT TO LOOK AT IT I NOTICED IMMEDIATELY THAT THE PASSENGER TIRE WAS POINTING OUTWARD A LITTLE BIT. I JACKED THE CAR UP LOOKING TO SEE IF A TIE ROD OR CONTROL ARM HAD BROKE ONLY TO FIND THAT NEITHER HAD BROKE. I LOOKED AT THE FRAME AND SEEN HOW BADLY IT WAS RUSTED AND NOTICED IT ACTUALLY HAD BROKEN APART AND WAS SHIFTED. THIS AREA OF THE SUBFRAME IS DIRECTLY UNDER THE A/C UNIT WHICH DRIPS STRAIGHT DOWN ONTO THE FRAME AREA THAT IS ROTTED. WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY THE REASON THE THE FRAME RUSTED AND BROKE AND SHIFTED CAUSING THE TIRE TO POINT OUTWARD. CALLED MAZDA AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK TO RETRIEVE THE CAR. CURRENTLY WAITING ON THEIR INSPECTION AND A CALL FROM MAZDA CORP TO SEE IF THEY WILL BE COVERING THE REPAIR. AFTER READING EVERYONE ELSE'S ISSUES WITH THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM I'M ASSUMING MAZDA WILL TELL ME IT'S OUR PROBLEM. THE CAR IS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD AND I'VE SEEN OTHER'S WHO'S CAR ARE EVEN NEWER AND MAZDA IS TELLING EVERYONE IT'S NOT DEFECTIVE. I STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH IT NOT BEING A MANUFACTURED DEFECT WHEN CLEARING THE WATER FROM THE A/C DRIPPING DOWN IS CAUSING ALL THESE SUBFRAMES TO RUST MUCH FASTER THAN ANY OTHER PART OF THE FRAME. WILL TAKE A MONTH TO REPAIR [RENTAL PROVIDED]. NOTE- THE PAST 6 MONTHS I'VE HAD OTHER ISSUES INCLUDING: ELECTRICAL (FUSE FOR RADIO/LOCKS/INT LIGHTS KEEPS BREAKING; AFTER 1.5 HOUR DIAGNOSTIC CAUSE STILL UNKNOWN. THE DAMAGE IS LARGELY CONCENTRATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE SUB FRAME BUT BOTH DRIVE AND PASSENGER SIDES ARE IN VARYING STATES OF CORROSION. I CAN CONTRIBUTE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION UPON REQUEST BUT I WANTED TO ADD TO THE ON-GOING INVESTIGATION THAT HEAVY CORROSION TO THE POINT OF ME QUESTIONING THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF SAID SUBFRAME IS FOR SURE AN ISSUE I'M EXPERIENCING. I HAVE NOT CHECKED THE WELDS TO THE VARIOUS SUSPENSION COMPONENTS ATTACHED TO SUB FRAME BUT THE PINCH WELDS ALONG THE INTERIOR EDGE OF THE SUB FRAME HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED ALLOWING THE INGRESS OF ADDITIONAL WATER WHICH I BELIEVE IS ACCELERATING THIS ISSUE. THE WHOLE LOWER SURFACE OF THE SUB FRAME TOWARDS THE REAR OF THE SUB FRAME HAS BEGUN CORRODING AS WELL AND THE PAINT COVERING THE SUB FRAME HAS BUBBLED UP OR SEPARATED ALONG THE EDGE OF THE CORROSION.

ON 06/12/2018, MECHANIC CALLED TO INFORM ME THAT RIGHT FRONT SUBFRAME/ENGINE CRADLE WAS RUSTED THROUGH TO THE POINT THAT IT HAD CRACKED. HE WAS SHOCKED THAT IT DIDN'T FAIL CATASTROPHICALLY AT SPEED ON HIGHWAY. MAZDA DEALER ADVISED TO CALL MAZDA DIRECTLY TO FILE COMPLAINT. MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND A USED/SALVAGED CRADLE TO MAKE REPAIRS AND MAZDA DEALER INFORMED HIM THAT A CRADLE THEY ORDERED IN DECEMBER 2017 HAD JUST ARRIVED IN MAY 2018 - QUOTED PRICE TO REPAIR WAS ROUGHLY $1,600 PARTS/$1,000+ LABOR. CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW IN SEPTEMBER 2010 AND HAS JUST SHY OF 84,000 MILES.

THE SEVERE CORROSION APPEARS TO BE ISOLATED TO THE RIGHT SIDE WITH THE REST OF THE SUBFRAME SHOWING SURFACE CORROSION NORMALLY SEEN IN AN AREA THAT USES ROAD SALT SUCH AS MINNESOTA. I BELIEVE THAT THE CAUSE OF THIS FAILURE IS THE AIR CONDITIONING EVAPORATOR DRAIN DRIPPING ON THE SUBFRAME. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE ATTACHED PICTURES THERE IS NO DRAIN HOSE USED TO DIVERT THE WATER FROM THE EVAPORATOR AROUND THE FRAME AND OVERBOARD. IN AUGUST WE TOOK THE CAR TO JENKINS MAZDA IN OCALA WHERE WE BOUGHT IT. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD TRY TO EXPEDITE THE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE IT WOULD BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.IN SEPTEMBER THE REPLACEMENT STILL HAD NOT COME SO THEY ASKED US TO STORE THE CAR WITH THEM. WHEN SUNLIGHT HITS THE SURFACE NOT ONLY IS THE SUN REFLECTED OFF THE SURFACE OF THE DASHBOARD BUT IT'S ALSO PROJECTED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD INSTANTLY BLINDING THE DRIVER OF THE RIGHT HALF OF THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD, TURNING THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD INTO YET ANOTHER MIRROR BOUNCING DIRECT SUNLIGHT INTO THE EYES OF THE DRIVER INSTANTLY BLINDING THEM. VISIBILITY IS SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED AND IT BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE OTHER MOTORISTS ON THE ROAD. ALSO THIS MELTED DASHBOARD IS THE SURFACE OF THE PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG. BEING THAT IT'S DEFECTIVE AND MELTED ONE WOULD BE LED TO BELIEVE THAT THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG WOULD ALSO BE EFFECTED OR DEFECTIVE. THE GLARE OFF OF THE AIRBAG / DASHBOARD AND THE PROJECTED LIGHT REFLECTED OFF THE WINDSHIELD IS CONSTANT ALL TIMES WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING. THIS IS NOT JUST DANGEROUS IT'S DEADLY AND A GENUINE HAZZARD TO THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGERS, AND EVERY SINGLE MOTORIST AND THEIR OCCUPANTS THAT PASS BY THE DEFECTED CAR AND EVERY MOTORIST WHO INTERACTS WITH THIS DEFECTIVE MAZDA AND THE BLIND DRIVER. UPON A ROUTINE INTERIOR CLEANING I NOTICED THAT THE DASHBOARD AREA WAS STICKY/TACKY TO THE TOUCH. I USED A HIGH QUALITY INTERIOR CLEANER TO TEST A SMALL SPOT TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO TREAT IT. WHILE DOING THE TEST SPOT CLEANING THE DASH WAS LITERALLY RUBBING OFF ON THE RAG I WAS USING. THE SUBSEQUENT REMOVAL OF THE DASH MATERIAL LEFT THE TEST SPOT VERY REFLECTIVE. IN THE DECADES I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON AND REBUILDING CARS I HAVE NEVER COME ACROSS A DEFECT LIKE THIS. I PARK IN OPEN PARKING LOTS AND USE SUN SHADES INSIDE THE CAR TO HELP PROTECT THE INTERIOR. THE SUN SHADES ARE USED APPROXIMATELY 80% OF THE TIME DURING SUNNY WEATHER. I AM CURRENTLY AFRAID TO ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE DASH FURTHER BECAUSE I FEAR THAT THE GLARE WOULD BE INCREASED AND CAUSE A FURTHER SAFETY HAZARD WHILE DRIVING.

ATTACHED IS THE BRIEF TIMELINE OF THE INCIDENTS BASED ON THE PAPERWORK. REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR POWERED DOWN THE CAR HAS 'MUSHY BRAKES' WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL "COLLAPSING" TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE APPLIED PRESSURE. AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE HAD THREE PREVIOUS ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE PROBLEM ADDRESSED, WHICH WERE UNSUCCESSFUL. THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE WAS NOT EVEN CONSIDERED UNTIL A MECHANIC FRIEND OF MINE SUGGESTED THEY LOOK AT THE MASTER CYLINDER AS THE ROOT CAUSE, WHICH WAS LOOKED AT ON INSPECTION #3 THROUGH CHECKING OF CODES AND NOT FINALLY ADDRESSED UNTIL INSPECTION #4. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A FUNDAMENTAL PARTS PROBLEM THAT IS NOT BEING ADDRESSED BY MAZDA, WHICH COULD HAVE THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS LIABILITY CONCERNS FOR THE COMPANY SHOULD THERE BE ANY FURTHER DEFECTIVE PARTS MANUFACTURED AND INSTALLED. I AM COMFORTABLE SAYING THAT AS I HAVE NOT HEARD ONE COMMENT OR STATEMENT FROM GALLO MAZDA ABOUT CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER OR MAZDA CORPORATE ABOUT ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGER IN REGARDS TO THE AIRBAG IS UNDER THIS DASH AND FOR THE DRIVER BEING BLINDED BY THE REFLECTION OF THE MELTING DASHBOARD AS IT IS SHINY. I CHECKED WITH MAZDA AND THE SAID THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT AND WOULD NOT COVER ANY COST TO FIX IT. MY VEHICLE IS A 2010 MAZDA 6. I FEEL THE MAZDA SHOULD COVER THIS BECAUSE THEY SOLD A CAR WITH DEFECTIVE MATERIALS THAT CAN COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE.

THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE 2010 MAZDA 6, 2.5L HAS MELTED FROM HIGH TEMPERATURE OF THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE UNITED STATES. THE SURFACE HAS BECOME VERY STICKY AND REFLECTIVE. THE STICKY MATERIAL HAS GOTTEN SMEARED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD AND IS NOT REMOVABLE, THE MORE YOU TRY TO WIPE IT AWAY SO THE READ CAN BE SEEN THE MORE IT SMEARS BLOCKING MORE AND MORE OF THE VIEW. WHEN THE SUN HITS THE WINDSHIELD THE SMEARS COMPLETELY BLOCK THE BEHIND VIEW AND THE LIGHT REFLECTS OFF OF THE DASH SURFACE, NOW A STICKY SMEARED LIQUID, IT REFLECTS INTO MY EYES WHILE DRIVING CAUSING TEMPORARY BLINDNESS TO THE POINT I HAVE TO SLOW DOWN AND BRAKE SOMETIMES PULLING OFF THE ROAD DUE TO LOST VISABILITY. NO CLEANERS OR CHEMICAL DETERGENTS WERE EVER USED TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD, THE DASH MELTED FROM NORMAL HOT SUMMER TEMPS. APPARENTLY MAZDA KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM AND FAILED TO DISCLOSE IT AT PURCHASE, IF THEY DID I WOULD NOT OF BOUGHT IT. IT COSTS 1,500.00 TO FIX AND MAZDA REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. ONCE THIS STICKY SUBSTANCE GETS ON THE WINDSHIELD IT IS PERMANENT. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT AND I'M SURE WILL LEAD TO DEATHS.

THIS IS THE THIRD COMPLAINT I HAVE FILED REGARDING THE MELTING DASHBOARD. I FORGOT TO MENTION IN THE PREVIOUS COMPLAINT THAT THE MELTING PASSENGER DASHBOARD IS ACTUALLY NOT A TRUE DASHBOARD, IT IS AN AIRBAG FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER. I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THE MELTING, PERMANENT, EXTREMELY STIKY, SEMI LIQUID EXTERIOR OF THE AIRBAG WILL FAIL TO RUPTURE PROPERLY ALLOWING FOR NORMAL DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAG. IT MAY RUPTURE TOO EASILY CAUSING DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAG WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE, POSSIBLY BREAKING THE NECK OF A CHILD OR INJURING AN ADULT. IT COULD NOT RUPTURE COMPLETELY CAUSING A LAG IN THE TIME OF DEPLOYMENT AND MAY NOT INFLATE COMPLETELY. IT COULD ALSO POSSIBLY PREVENT DEPLOYMENT COMPLETELY. IN ADDITION TO CAUSING DEFECTS IN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BLINDNESS OR EYE INJURY AS WELL AS SKIN INJURY CAN OCCUR AT TIME OF AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT CAUSED BY AN EXPLOSION OF THE STIKY LIQUIDATED AIRBAG SURFACE SPRAYING INTO THE FACE, EYES, AND MOUTH OF PASSENGERS. THE LIQUIFYING AIRBAG SURFACE MIGHT ALSO LEAK INTO INTERNAL AIRBAG COMPONENTS CAUSING MALFUNCTION. REMER THAT WHEN SOMEONE REFERS TO THE PASSENGER SIDE DASHBOARD MELTING, IT IS ACTUALLY THE SURFACE OF THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG. I AM A PROFESSIONAL CAREER AUTOMOBILE MECHANIC WITH OVER TEN YEARS EXPERIENCE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM.

THIS VEHICLE DOES NOT TRACK STRAIGHT, EVEN ON A LEVEL ROAD. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (ABOVE 50 MPH) IT HAS A DECIDED PULL TO THE LEFT, REGARDLESS OF THE LATERAL SLOPE OF THE ROAD. CONSTANT CLOCKWISE PRESSURE ON THE STEERING WHEEL IS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO KEEP VEHICLE FROM DRIFTING IN A LEFTWARD DIRECTION. IF DRIVER ATTENTION IS DIVERTED FOR ONLY AN INSTANT THE VEHICLE IS LIKELY TO PARTIALLY INTRUDE INTO THE LANE TO THE LEFT, WHICH ON AN UNDIVIDED HIGHWAY COULD BE AN ONCOMING TRAFFIC LANE (HENCE THE SAFETY ISSUE). I CALLED THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF MY MAZDA DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT LEAST TWICE WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR AFTER PURCHASE (JANUARY 2010). THEIR ANSWER WAS NO ANSWER--THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG MECHANICALLY AND THERE WERE NO BULLETINS FROM MAZDA ON THE SUBJECT. THEY VERIFIED THE ALIGNMENT AND ROTATED THE TIRES LEFT TO RIGHT, BUT NEITHER OF THESE SOLVED THE PROBLEM. NEARLY FIVE YEARS LATER THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND SEEMS EVEN MORE PRONOUNCED THAN IT WAS ORIGINALLY. A RECENT CHECK WITH THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THERE IS STILL NOTHING FROM MAZDA. IF IT WAS TOUCHED BY A WINDOW SUN SCREEN OR BY YOUR HAND, THE DASHBOARD COLOR AND MATERIAL ROLLED OFF AND SPREAD TO ANYTHING THAT WAS ACCIDENTALLY RETOUCHED. THE 800 NUMBER MAZDA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER TOLD ME THAT IT WAS UP TO THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP TO DECIDE WHAT COULD BE DONE ABOUT THE PROBLEM. PARETTI MAZDA AT 4000 VETERANS BLVD., METAIRIE, LA 70002 HAD ME BRING THE CAR IN ON JULY 2, 2014 WHEN THE MAZDA DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE WAS AVAILABLE TO LOOK AT IT. AT 3:00 P.M. THAT SAME DAY, I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD TO DECIDE BEFORE 5:00 P.M. WHETHER OR NOT I WOULD ACCEPT THE OFFER OF MAZDA GIVING ME A NEW $226.96 DASHBOARD PART AND MY HAVING TO PAY $324.84 TO THEM FOR LABOR. IT WAS A ONE TIME ONLY OFFER FOR THAT DAY. THE ENTIRE SCENARIO IS UNETHICAL. I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO LET MAZDA DO THIS JOB AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT MAY HAPPEN AGAIN IN A FEW YEARS. THE SERVICE ADVISER SAYS THAT THE TECH SEES THERE ARE AFTERMARKET SEAT COVERS ON THE SEATS, AND THEREFORE WHOEVER PUT THOSE ON, BROKE THE LUMBAR KNOB CONNECTION. THE INNER TAIL LIGHT LENSES ON BOTH THE DRIVER & PASSENGER SIDE OF MY 2010 MAZDA 6 TOURING ARE PHYSICALLY MELTING AND BECOMING SEVERELY DEFORMED. THE OUTER, CLEAR LENSES ARE NOT DAMAGED AND THE MELTING IS ORIGINATING IN THE VICINITY OF THE BULBS. CAR HAS NOT BEEN ALTERED FROM THE MFG AND BULBS ARE MANUFACTURER RECOMMENDED. CAR HAS 48,000 MILES ON IT AND BEYOND THE 36,000 MFG WARRANTY THEREFORE MAZDA WILL NOT REPLACE THEM FOR FREE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SUPPLIER, DESIGN OR MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT CAN POSSIBLY CAUSE A FIRE OR REDUCED BRAKE LIGHT VISIBILITY AND THIS PART SHOULD NOT MELT.
