Vehicle is having same exact issues as recall 21TH01 but toyota says it's not under recall. Vehicle is currently at the dealership and is being repaired because it is not safe to drive with the steering issue. Dealer agrees that it should be covered.

VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HAVING A LEFT REAR SPEED SENSOR AND SPEED SENSOR WIRE WAS BROKEN DUE TO A PIECE OF PLASTIC PART CAME SEPARATED FROM THE WHEEL. HAVE ALL KINDS OF LIGHTS COME ON DASHBOARD AND FLASH ON AND OFF, UNTIL SENSOR IS REPLACED WITH NEW AT AN ASTRONOMICAL RATE, WHICH CANNOT BE REPLACED AT THIS TIME. FEEL THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED RECALLED FOR THIS ISSUE, AS THE WIRE IS JUST HANGING THERE, ATTACHED TO THE WHEEL UNDERNEATH AND SHOULD BE FIXED AND ATTACHED SOMEWHERE ELSE, WHERE IT IS NOT LESS LIKELY TO BE PULLED OR DISRUPTIVE ON THE FUTURE, BY OTHER VEHICLES LIKE MINE IS. SHOULD BE ON A RECALL LIST AS I DO NOT KNOW IF OTHER TOYOTA OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD JUST BLINK OFF/ON CONTINUOUSLY, EVEN WHEN IT STARTS AND FROM THE TIME THE VEHICLE STOPS. CANNOT SEE THE SPEED ON THE DASHBOARD WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.
THE BLUETOOTH SIGNAL (PHONE CALLING) KEEP DISCONNECTING. THE DEALER, TOYOTA OF SEATTLE TRIED TO FIX 4 TIMES AND THEY REPLACED THE UNIT LAST TIME BUT I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY KEEP BLAMING ON APPLE IPHONE.

2018 TUNDRA INTEGRATED BRAKE CONTROLLER INTERMITTENTLY DISCONNECTS TRUCK FROM TRAILER WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE. TRUCK BRAKES STOP ARE ACTIVATED BUT TRAILER IS DISCONNECTED. TIRES BEGIN TO SMOKE AND THERE IS A BURNING SMELL FROM THE TIRESNOT BEING ABLE TO SLOW OR STOP THE TRAILER. WE HAVE TAKEN 4 TRIPS AND IT HAPPENS ON ALL OF THEM. TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SAID THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX. HUNDREDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINT ON THE INTERNET. THIS FORM ONLY ALLOWS DATE ENTRY FOR ONE INCIDENT. BUT THE OCCURRENCE IS EVERY TRIP. IN FACT, WE DON'T HAVE BRAKES CONNECTION NOW AND TOYOTA DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY DON'T HAVE A FIX.

I GET A MESSAGE FROM THE DEALER TO SAY I HAVE FUEL CONTAMINATION AND IT'LL COST $1400 PLUS TANK REFILL, NO MENTION OF THE ERROR CODES THAT WERE ON! APPARENTLY THEY SAID DUE TO A MIS-FIRE IT THROWS THOSE CODES. I NEVER FELT AND MIS-FIRING WHILE DRIVING, WE PICKED THE TRUCK UP, FILLED HALF THE TANK ADDED INJECTOR CLEANER AS A PRECAUTION......THERE WERE NO RUNNING PROBLEMS, THE ERROR CODES HAVE GONE.... A ELECTRICAL ANOMALY....

NOT HABING TRAILER BRAKES IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND BELIEVE THAT IF I PAID FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEM I SHOULD HAVE TO BUY AN AFTERMARKET ONE JUST TO PULL MY TRAILERS SAFELY. 2ND ISSUE IS ONCE AGAIN ELECTRICAL, THE RADIO SHUT ON AND OFF EVERY 10 MINUTES OR SO...WILL NOT KEEP PRESETS SAVED ETC, TOLD TOYOTA AND THEY TRIED TO DOWNLOAD AND UPDATE AND SAID THE RADIO WOULDN'T EXCEPT THE DOWNLOAD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 1906060300. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,900.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 14,531.
TOYOTA SAFETY SENSE SENSORS RANDOMLY MALFUNCTION AND FLASH FALSE WARNING LIGHTS. MY TRUCK WILL TELL ME TO BRAKE AND BEEP ALARMS AT ME EVEN IF NOTHING IS IN FRONT OF ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED AROUND 10 TIMES, AND ONE TIME MY TRUCK SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES ON THE INTERSTATE FOR NO REASON. LUCKILY THIS WAS AT NIGHT WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND. MYSELF AND MANY OTHER FOLKS HAVE HAD SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THIS SYSTEM AND TOYOTA DOES NOTHING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM.
COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM ENGAGED RANDOMLY WITH NO KNOWN CAUSE AT LOCATION TRAVELED ON A FREQUENT BASIS. AT BETWEEN 40-45MPH ON A SUNNY DAY AT TEMPERATURE IN UPPER 60'S AND A LOCATION THAT I TRAVEL MULTIPLE TIMES A WEEK, THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM ENGAGED ON THE DASH BOARD. THERE WERE NO CARS, GUARD RAILS, TREES OR OTHER MAJOR METAL OBJECTS ON OR NEAR THE ROAD AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. TOYOTA SERVICE MGR INDICATES THAT THERE WAS NO DATA LOGGING OF THE EVENT AND TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO REPRODUCE; INDICATES THAT WITHOUT 'EVIDANCE', THEY CANNOT MAKE A REPAIR. HOWEVER, THE EVIDENCE OF INTERMITTENT SENSOR OR COMPUTER FAILURES IS NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE IF PROPER DATA LOGGING EQUIPMENT IS NOT INSTALLED IN THE SYSTEM. PREVIOUSLY, THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM HAD BEEN ENGAGED BY AN ONCOMING BUS IN THE ADJACENT LANE (NORMAL DAILY DRIVING CONDITION, NO EXPECTATION OF COLLISION) AT 30MPH. PARKING COLLISION SENSOR (LEFT FRONT) WAS ALSO TRIGGERED IN MINOR SNOWFALL AT LOW SPEED IN A PARKING LOT. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER 12/2017 AND HAD ALL SCHEDULED SERVICES.

IT CAME BACK ON. I CHECKED MY VIN# AND MY TRUCK IS NOT LISTED FOR THE SAME RECALL THAT I HAVE SEEN OTHERS GET.
THE PRECOLLISION WARNIG SYSTEM KEEPS MALFUNCTIONING FOR NO REASON. I HAVE THEM REPLACE 3 SENSORS, WINDSHIELD CAMERA AND FULL SAFETY HARNESSES ALREADY. HUNDREDS F OTHERS HAVE THIS ISSUE. EVEN THE REGIONAL TECH FOR TOYOTA HAS GIVEN UP AND TOLD ME TO CALL TOYOTA CORPORATE. BUT CORPORATE SAYS IT DOESN'T EFFECT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE. PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM WARNING AND "BRAKE" WARNING LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON AND WARNING ME FOR NO REASON, TOYOTA HAVE REPEALED THE SENSOR 3 TIMES SO FAR AND THE SYSTEM KEEPS FAILING, MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS THE VEHVIAE WILL START BRAKING FOR NO REASON AND END UP GETTING REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS BEEN HAPPING SINCE WE BOUGHT THE TRUCK, PICTURES SHOWS ALL WARNING OVER THE LAST 14000 MILES.
TOYOTA INFORMED ME THROUGH MAIL TO MY ADDRESS THAT MY NEW 2018 TOYOTA TUNDRA "FAIL TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS (FMVSS) NO.208," "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION," AND 214, "SIDE IMPACT PROTECTION." WHEN I CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER PROVIDED 1-888-270-9371 TO ASK IF THEY WOULD BE WILLING TO COVER THE COST OF TAKING THE VEHICLE TO AN ALTERNATE REPAIR FACILITY LOCATED ON MY ISLAND, THEY REFUSED, NOT ONLY DID THEY REFUSE BUT THEY CLAIMED THAT ONLY A TOYOTA AUTHORIZED DEALER COULD PERFORM THE REPAIR. WHEN I ASKED HOW I WAS SUPPOSE TO DEAL WITH THE SAFETY RECALL WITHOUT AN OPTION TO BRING MY VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD JUST HAVE TO FIGURE THAT OUT ON MY OWN, WHEN I ASKED FOR THE RESPONSE IN WRITING THEY ALSO CLAIMED THAT TOYOTA WOULD NOT PROVIDED THAT.
THE AVOIDANCE COLLISION RADAR CAN BE INTERMITTENT. SOMETIME, IT DETECTS THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, THEN STOP WORKING AND MY TRUCK WILL ACCELERATE TOWARDS THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. AT OTHER TIME, THE WARNING LIGHT WILL COME ON, SAYING THE SENSOR NEEDS TO BE CLEANED, EVEN THOUGH THE WINDSHIELD IS SPOTLESS AND DROP MY TRUCK OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL, CAUSING A QUICK DE-ACCELERATION. I WAS IN FRONT OF A SEMI-TRUCK GOING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND THE SEMI-TRUCK CAME CLOSE TO HITTING ME IN THE REAR END. I'VE HAD THIS INTO MY TOYOTA DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE SOFTWARE DOES NOT RECORD WHEN THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM ISN'T WORKING. I CONSIDER THIS PROBLEM TO BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HAVE AVOIDED USING MY CRUISE CONTROL MOST OF THE TIME.

WELL IT DOESN'T NOT WORK, MY TRUCK GOES INTO TOYOTA TODAY 8/28/2018 AT FRED ANDERSON TOYOTA TO BE CHECKED AGAIN SINCE THE SOFTWARE RECALL UPDATE. PRE COLLISION SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON AT VARIOUS TIMES DASH READS "PRE COLLISION UNAVAILABLE" CAR HAS 500 MILES ON IT AND IS A WEEK OLD, I HAVE TAKEN CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT SHOULD ONLY HAPPEN IF THE VEHICLE WAS IN AN ACCIDENT, IT WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT, THE SENSOR COMES ON AND OFF AT VARIOUS TIMES, SPEEDS.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V122000 (ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. AVONDALE TOYOTA WAS CONTACTED AGAIN AND REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE DUE TO ITS AGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 3,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE PCS "PRE-COLLISION SYSTEM" SHUTS OFF ALL THE TIME! WHEN CRUISE CONTROL IS ON AND IS SUPPOSED TO SLOW DOWN BY ITSELF WHEN THERE'S ANOTHER CAR IN FRONT OF YOU ACTUALLY ACCELERATES MY VEHICLE THAT CAN CREATE A SEVERE ACCIDENT BY CRASHING INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME! THE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED ON THE RADAR BASE SYSTEM THAT IS SUPPOSED TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT AND IT ACTUALLY SPEEDS IT UP WHICH CAN CAUSE A FATALITY!
PCS SYSTEM RANDOMLY TURNS ITSELF OFF, RENDERING RADAR CRUISE CONTROL AND OTHER SAFETY FEATURES USELESS. STARTED WITH LESS THAN 500 MILES ON THE CAR. IT HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP 3 OCCASIONS AT THIS POINT WITH ALL UPDATES COMPLETED AND PCS LIGHT STILL ILLUMINATES ON ITS OWN.
VEHICLE PRE COLLISION SYSTEM (PCS) MALFUNCTION/OFF LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE UPON ENGINE START AND TURN OFF ONCE SEVERAL MINUTES HAVE PASSED WHEN DRIVING. LIGHT SEEMS TO ILLUMINATE MORE OFTEN WHEN THE TEMP IS <40F. UNKNOWN IF THE PRE COLLISION SYSTEM IS ACTUALLY WORKING WHEN THE MALFUNCTION LIGHT ILLUMINATES.
TOYOTA'S PRE COLLISION SENSOR IS UNRELIABLE AND INTERMITTENTLY PRODUCES AN ERROR "PCS SENSOR UNAVAILABLE -- CLEAN SENSOR". THE SAFETY PORTION OF THIS COMPLAINT COMES WHEN DYNAMIC CRUISE CONTROL IS SET. WHEN THE SENSOR NO LONGER DETECTS A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU, AND THERE IS CLEARLY THERE, THE VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED BEFORE THE ERROR SHOWS ON THE DASH CLUSTER IF THE CRUISE CONTROL IS SET ABOVE THE TRAFFIC FLOW. I EXPECT AND REALIZE THAT THIS SITUATION COULD OCCUR, AND I AVOID USING THE SYSTEM. HOWEVER, IF SOMEBODY NOT FAMILIAR WITH THIS FAULT IS USING THE PCS SENSOR AND DOES NOT REALIZE THIS PROBLEM, THEY WILL END UP REAR ENDING ANOTHER VEHICLE, POSSIBLY AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED BEFORE THE SYSTEM SHUTS ITSELF OFF AND LETS OFF THE THROTTLE. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE. SEVERAL OTHERS ON DIFFERENT FORUMS HAVE DESCRIBED SIMILAR SITUATIONS WHERE ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN NARROWLY AVOIDED BECAUSE OF THIS FAULT. THE LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN HELPFUL IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE AND HAVE PULLED CODES FOR A FORWARD CAMERA COMMUNICATION ISSUE. A NEW CAMERA HAS BEEN ORDERED AND WILL BE INSTALLED NEXT WEEK.
THE PRE COLLISION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES A VARIOUS TIMES. THE CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT WORK WHEN ILLUMINATED. THE SENSOR HAS BEEN KEPT CLEAN. IT DOES NOT GIVE A FAILURE CODE AT THE DEALER. IT WAS REPROGRAMED. THE PRE COLLISION BRAKING WAS A MAJOR FEATURE IN MY BUYING PROCESS AND IT DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY.
PRE COLLISION LIGHT COMES ON WITH THE VEHICLE ONLY HAVING 300 MILES ON IT. CYCLE ON AND OFF TO RESET BUT THE LIGHT STAYS ON. RECOMMEND REPLACING THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE PCS. POLLED OTHER 2018 TUNDRAS AND 85% OF THE THEM ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THE FEBRUARY RECALL DID NOT FIX THIS ISSUE. LIGHT WILL COME ON ONCE THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TURNED ON.
MULTIPLE EVENTS. 2500 MILES ON VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING 70MPH IN CRUISE CONTROL THE PRE-COLLISION WARNING CAME ON AND VEHICLE APPLIED BRAKES FORCEFULLY WITHOUT ANY VEHICLE AHEAD OF MY VEHICLE UNTIL I TURNED OFF CRUISE CONTROL. AFTER THE EVENT THE TRALER BRAKE MALFUNCTION STATEMENT AND WARNING LIGHTS WERE ON. PRE -COLLISION FAILURE LIGHT RESET AFTER KEY CYCLED OFF AND BACK ON. FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES IN MULTIPLE DRIVING CONDITIONS, CURRENTLY TRAILER BRAKE FAILURE LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED. EACH TIME I HAD TO EXIT OR PULL OVER AND STOP VEHICLE, CYCLE KEY TO HAVE WARNING CLEAR.

DRIVING TRUCK ON FREEWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON AT 80-85 MPH. ROAD WAS FLAT AND IT WAS A CLEAR SUNNY DAY. NO CARS NEAR THE TRUCK AND THE PRECOLLISION SENSOR WENT OFF CAUSING THE TRUCK TO ALMOST EMERGENCY BRAKE BEFORE I TURNED CRUISE CONTROL OFF. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK TO CAUSE THIS. A FEW WEEKS BEFORE THE PRECOLISION SENSOR AND LANE DEPARTURE SEMSOR WENT OFF AND TIL ME THE TRUCK NEEDED TO BE TAKEN TO DEALER. THE SENSORS HAVE GONE OFF A FEW TIMES SAYING THEY ARE INOPERABLE.
INTEGRATED BRAKE CONTROLLER NOT FUNCTIONING. TOOK IT TO DEALER A WEEK AND NOT RESOLVED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TEJAS TOYOTA (19011 HIGHWAY 59 N, HUMBLE, TX 77338), BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,800.
RECEIVED A PRE-COLLISION MALFUNCTION AND TRAILER BRAKE ERROR MULTIPLE TIMES. WAS INFORMED THE FAULT OCCURRED DUE TO COLD WEATHER. WAS INFORMED THAT RECALL SOFTWARE UPDATE WOULD RESOLVE ISSUE BUT HAS OCCURRED TWICE SINCE WITH THE LATEST OCCURRING 1/12/2018. ALSO, HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING A RATTLING/VIBRATION NOISE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN OCTOBER; TOYOTA HQ INVOLVED. LATEST DIAGNOSIS IS A FAULTY ECU; AWAITING REPAIR AND VALIDATION.
THE INTRINSIC TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE GAIN COULD NOT BE SET INITIALLY. THE DEALERSHIP COMPUTER SYSTEM COULD NOT DETECT THE PROBLEM. THE ONLY WAY THE PROBLEM WAS RECOGNIZED WAS BY ATTACHING A TRAILER OR A TRAILER SIMULATOR TO THE TRUCK. THE DEALERSHIP NOTED THAT ALL THE 2018 TUNDRA TRUCKS ON THEIR LOT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT COULD LEAD TO ACCIDENTS IF THE DRIVER IS NOT AWARE THAT THE TRAILER BRAKING SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. WE WERE PERSISTENT AND THE DEALERSHIP DID REPLACE THE CONTROLLER WITH ONE THAT DID WORK. HOWEVER, THIS CONTROLLER COULD NOT BE ORDERED FROM TOYOTA, BUT ONLY FROM THE SUPPLIER THAT MAKES THEM FOR TOYOTA. AFTER OUR TRUCK WAS AFFECTED, WE FOUND MANY REPORTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM ON THIS TRUCK. THIS PROBLEM WAS DETECTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER WE PURCHASED THE TRUCK BY THE TECHNICIAN WHO INSTALLED THE GOOSENECK HITCH.

On March 4, 2020, Toyota expanded the recall to include certain 2014-2015 Toyota 4Runner and Land Cruiser, 2018 Avalon, Corolla, 2014 FJ Cruiser, 2017 Sienna and Lexus 2018 ES 350, 2018-2019 GS 300, 2013-2014 GS350, 2014-2015 GX 460, IS 350 and LX 570, 2014 IS F, 2018-2019 IS 350, LC 500H and LS 500H, 2013-2015 LS 460, 2015 NX 200T and RC350, 2017 RC 200T and RX 350. Toyota also removed the 2018-2019 Toyota 4Runner and Land Cruiser and 2018-2019 Lexus GX 460 and LX 570 and 2019 NX300 from inclusion in this recall. On March 19, 2020, Toyota expanded the recall to include 2015 Lexus GS350 vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Toyota Tundra vehicles equipped with LED headlight assemblies. Due to a wiring error, the front turn signals may not flash brightly enough. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
