The contact owns a 2010 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated while her husband was driving 45 MPH and approaching a traffic light, he had to depress the brake pedal to the floor to stop the vehicle. The driver stated that the advance trac and ABS warning lights were illuminated but turned off shortly after. The driver stated after a week, he experienced the failure again and same the warning lights were illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the ABS module and HCU unit to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 161,000.

Northtowne Lincoln (21 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO 64118) was also contacted and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer for service. The contact left his vehicle in the possession of the dealer and after several days, he was notified that parts were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

I traded in this 2010 Lincoln MKZ on November 24, 2018 at Classic Acura in Beaumont, Texas. Since that time I have contacted both Lincoln Motor Company by phone and email plus Kinsel Ford-Lincoln of Beaumont, Texas in person and by phone. These contacts were done multiple times and today I received another recall notice (19S54-ABS HCU Valve Concern (17X29) on the 2010 Lincoln that I no longer own. has not been keeping whoever is the new owner of the 2010 Lincoln MKZ advised of recalls.

I CHECKED THE VIN AND THIS VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED AS BEING INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BUT IT DEFINITELY HAS THE PROBLEM. I SPOKE WITH FORD AND UNLESS THE RECALL INCLUDES THIS VIN THEY WILL NOT REPAIR AS A RECALL, BUT RATHER AT MY EXPENSE. I WAS TRAVELLING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES PER HOUR AND THE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME BRAKED HARD CAUSING ME TO BRAKE HARD AS WELL. IT WAS A RAINY MORNING AND THE ABS ACTIVATED AND I FELT THE BRAKE PEDAL SOFTEN AND GO DOWN ABOUT ANOTHER INCH WHERE IT STILL PROVIDED BRAKING BUT I CAN FEEL THAT IT IS LOWER THAN BEFORE AND THERE IS A POINT AT WHICH I CAN FEEL THE BRAKES BUT STILL NEED TO DEPRESS FURTHER TO ACHIEVE GOOD STOPPING. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED. PREVIOUS TIMES THE BRAKES SEEMED OK THE NEXT DAY. THIS TIME I CAN STILL FEEL THAT THERE IS SOMETHING VERY DIFFERENT.

ON 6/11/18 A 3RD LETTER ARRIVED FROM LINCOLN DATED MAY,2018 ADVISING ME THAT PARTS ARE ANTICIPATED TO BE AVAILABLE DURING THE 2ND AND 3RD QUARTER OF 2018, AND THAT LINCOLN WOULD PAY UP TO $45 PER DAY FOR A RENTAL VEHICLE WHILE WAITING FOR PARTS. HOWEVER, $45 PER DAY WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF RENTING AN EQUIVALENT VEHICLE. A CALL TO LINCOLN INFORMED ME THAT THAT CAR RENTAL ALLOWANCE HAS BEEN INCREASED TO $55 PER DAY (WHICH WILL STILL NOT COVER THE COST OF RENTING AN EQUIVALENT VEHICLE. I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA WHERE THE HOT HUMID CLIMATE PUTS MY CAR AT GREATER RISK. I RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE IN JUNE 2018 THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER TO BE DRIVEN AND I JUST RECEIVED MY RENTAL CAR ON JULY 10, 2018... THERE IS STILL NO PARTS CURRENTLY BEING DISTRIBUTED IN ORDER TO REPAIR MY CAR. MY VEHICLE HAS SAT, I HAVE HAD TO PAY A MECHANIC TO COME FLUSH IT AND PUT IN NEW BATTERIES ETC TO MAINTAIN IT AFTER NOT BEING DRIVEN. WE DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR OFTEN AND WE DECIDED TO LET IT GO UNTIL THE FIRST RECOMMENDED CHECKUP. IT WAS CHECKED AND THE ALIGNMENT WAS FOUND TO BE IN SPECS AS PER FORD. THERE WAS ALSO A LETTER TO THE DEALERS STATING THAT THE DRIFT WAS A "CHARACTERISTIC" OF OTHER FRONT WHEEL DRIVE FORD PRODUCTS AND THERE IS "NO PROBLEM" WITH THE VEHICLE! I HAVE CONTACTED FORD EVER SINCE THE SERVICE AND THEY WILL DO NOTHING TO REPAIR IT. IF I LOOK AWAY AND DON'T REALIZE I HAVE EASED THE PRESSURE OF HOLDING THE WHEEL, THE CAR CHANGES LANES TO THE RIGHT AT ANY GIVEN TIME. NEVER TO THE LEFT WITH "ROAD CROWN IN THE ROAD, CROSSWINDS" OR WHATEVER AS DESCRIBED IN THE LETTER FROM FORD.
