I HAVE BEEN SMELLING GAS FROM MY CAR FOR YEARS BUT JUST NEVER HAD THE MONEY TO GET IT LOOKED AT. I EVEN CALLED ABOUT RECALLS CONCERNING THE FUEL SYSTEM THAT I FOUND OUT ABOUT THROUGH RESEARCH IN 2015 BUT WAS TOLD THEY HAD BEEN CLOSED SO I WOULD BE CHARGED FOR THE REPAIRS EVEN IF IT WAS PREVIOUSLY COVERED UNDER RECALL. I NO LONGER FILL MY TANK WITH GAS BECAUSE THERE IS A LEAK. I JUST GOT MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP, THEY STATE THAT I NEED A NEW FUEL TANK, AND FUEL LEVER SENSOR AND SENDER. ALSO, HAVE OIL LEAKS IN 2 PLACES, THEY TELL ME I NEED UPPER & LOWER INTAKE GASKETS. AS WELL AS VALVE COVER GASKETS & OIL PUMP DRIVE O-RING REPLACED AND OIL PAN GASKET REPLACED. ALSO, NEEDS WATER PUMP AND DRIVE BELT REPLACED.I ALSO FOR THE PAST 3 OR SO YEARS HAVE TO KEEP A PEN OR PENCIL IN MY CAR TO INSERT UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL TO RELEASE MY KEY .
FUEL TANK IS LEAKING; THERE IS A HISTORY OF A RECALL THAT HAS NEVER BEEN REPAIRED ON THIS VEHICLE. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY FOR 45 MINUTES AND WHEN GOT HOME NOTICE THERE WAS GAS COMING FROM MY PONTIAC AZTEC. DID SOME RESEARCH AND NOTICE THERE'S A RECALL. CALL BUICK AND THEY TOLD ME MY VIN IS NOT COVER UNDER THE RECALL. REALLY?
LIGHTING GOES OUT AT NIGHT WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS
I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MY VEHICLE FOR 2 MONTHS BECAUSE MY MECHANIC TOLD ME MY VALVE COVER GASKETS WERE LEAKING ON TO MY EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND THAT IT WHY IT WAS SMOKING WHEN WE STOPPED. I TALKED TO MY LOCAL GM DEALER AND THEY SAID IT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL SO THEY COULD NOT HELP, SO I HAVE THREE CHOICES LET IT SIT IN MY DRIVEWAY, PAY SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO GET IT FIXED OR DRIVE IT TILL IT STARTS ON FIRE. IT HAS THE 3800 MOTOR LIKE ALL THE OTHER CARS IN THE RECALL. I CAN GET A LETTER FROM MY MECHANIC IF NEEDED.
KEY STUCK IN IGNITION ONCE CAR TURNED OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY SINCE FIRST OCCURRED IN 2010. THE ONLY WAY TO REMOVE KEY IS TO OVERRIDE PARK SHIFT INDICATOR, WHICH WOULD ALLOW KEY TO BE REMOVED WHILE VEHICLE IN MOTION, THEREBY DISABLING POWER STEERING AND BRAKING. THERE IS NO FIX THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE OVERRIDING PARK SHIFT INDICATOR PER DEALER.

I HAVE BEEN HAVIBG ISSUES WITH MY CALL STALLING AND FUEL LEAKAGE FPR AWHILE NOW AND WHILE CHECKING THE WEBSITE FOR RECALLS I NOTICED THERE WERE 4 RECALLS ON MY CAR. WHEN CALLED TO TRY AND HAVE THE RECALLS FIXED, I WAS TOLD THAT MY CARS VIN WASN'T ON THE LIST FOR ANY RECALLS. BUT THE ISSUES DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL IS THE EXACT ISSUE I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING FIR THE LAST YEAR OR SO. WHY NOT LET ME BRING THE CAR IN TO BE CHECKED AND IF THE ISSUE MY CAR IS HAVING IS THE PARTS ON THE RECALL LIST, JUST REPLACE THEM. BUT NO NOT GM, THEY REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK AT THE CAR. SO DISAPPOINTED IN GM, ESPECIALLY SINCE I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER GM VEHICLE. LOOKING IN TO REPLACING IT NOW.

2004 PONTIAC AZTEK RALLY - THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN APRIL 2010 - YOU GET INTO THE CAR, TURN IT ON AND START DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE SPEED OF THE CAR INCREASES SLOWLY UNTIL YOU HAVE TO PUT ON THE BRAKE TO STAY WITHIN THE POSTED SPEED LIMITS. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY NOW. A CHEVROLET DEALER, FIRST TRIED A NEW BATTERY & GAVE IT BACK TO US. WITHIN 2 MILES OF THE DEALERSHIP IT STARTED AGAIN. WE TOOK IT BACK - THEY HOOKED IT UP TO A COMPUTER - FOUND NOTHING - SO THEN THEY REPLACED THE CAR'S COMPUTER SYSTEM - WE LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND IT STARTED AGAIN - WE TOOK IT BACK AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT GMAC AND MAKE SOME INQUIRIES. NO ONE KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT BUT IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE WAY IT IS. *TR
AFTER NOTICING A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR WAS DRIPPING FUEL ONTO THE ENGINE. THE FUEL WAS COMING FROM THE CASE SEAM AND NOT THE FUEL LINE OR CONNECTION TO THE FUEL RAIL. *TR
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS ON MY 04 AZTEK 1 MONTH AGO AND NOW THE REAR BEARINGS ARE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE HAS 69,000 MILES. *TR
I NOTICE THE SMELL OF GAS ON MY DRIVE WAY, AFTER A FEW DAYS I NOTICE IT WAS COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. I NOTICED IT WOULD ONLY DO IT WHEN I PARKED FORWARD (SO THE CARS FRONT END WAS INCLINED) I THOUGHT IT WAS COMING FROM THE CLAMP, I TIGHTEN THE CLAMED. DID NOT WORK. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND SAID IT WAS THE SEAL AROUND THE TANK BUT THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX IT WITH A PATCH. WE NOTICED THIS ABOUT A FEW DAYS AGO AND ARE WAITING TO SEE IF A RECALL LETTER WE RECEIVED WAS THE ONE FOR THE GAS TANK. CROSS OUR FINGERS! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC AZTEC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD CONSTANTLY OVERHEAT. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND JUST THE GAUGE WAS DEFECTIVE. LATER, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED TO THE POINT THAT THERE WERE BELL-LIKE SOUNDS COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND STATED THAT THE ENGINE HEAD GASKET HAD BLOWN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE ESTIMATED COST OF $3,000. IN ADDITION, THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT THE ESTIMATED COST OF $7,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS LESS THAN 100,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS HAD BE REPLACED AT 62000. I AM NOW HAVING TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE AGAIN 7 1/2 MONTHS LATER. THE DEALER TOLD ME THERE WAS A SELECT FEW SERIAL NUMBERS ON THE WHEEL BEARINGS THAT THEY WERE BEING REPLACED UNDER A SAFETY ALERT BUT MINE WAS NOT ONE OF THEM.. SO EVEN THOUGH I WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING TO PAY FOR MINE TWICE. *JB
REPLACED LEFT FRONT WHEEL BEARING ON 3/20/07 AND THEN HAD TO REPLACE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING 4/25/07 46,000 MILE ON CAR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 PONTIAC AZTEK. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT SMELLED GAS. HE PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER AND DISCOVERED A FUEL VALVE LEAK. THE DEALER WOULD NOT PERFORM THE REPAIR UNDER RECALL NUMBER 07V349000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE). THE COST FOR THE REPAIR WAS $804. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE IGNITION WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND THE VEHICLE WOULD START AFTER THE THIRD ATTEMPT. THE DEALER ALSO REFUSED TO REPLACE THE PART UNDER RECALL NUMBER 05V157000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION). THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 42,901.
HEAD GASKET BLOWN ON 2004 PONTIAC AZTEK RALLY, 3.4L ENGINE, 39,880 MILES. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED 3 MONTHS AGO WITH 37,000 MILES AT SOUTHTOWNE HYUNDAI IN RIVERDALE, GA - 770-471-1000. THEY TOLD ME THE CAR WAS MECHANICALLY SOUND AND HAD PASSED A 60-POINT INSPECTION. RECENTLY, UPON DRIVING UP A 5-MILE HILL, ABOUT MIDWAY THE CAR STARTED OVERHEATING. I LET IT COOL DOWN, TURNED OFF THE A/C, TURNED ON THE HEATER AND DROVE BACK APPROX. 5 MILES TO THE NEAREST SERVICE STATION. THE CAR DID NOT INDICATE ANY MORE OVERHEATING. TECH'S COULD NOT FIND A LEAK. THERE WAS NO MORE OVERHEATING UNTIL A COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER. ON MY WAY TO GET AN OIL CHANGE, IT HAPPENED AGAIN. TOOK IT TO PONTIAC SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY DIAGNOSED A BLOWN HEAD GASKET. I RESEARCHED THE INTERNET, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON FAILURE FOR THIS PARTICULAR CAR. PONTIAC SAID IT WILL FIX FREE OF CHARGE IF I PAY $1,100 FOR MAINTENANCE SERVICE (REPLACING ALL FLUIDS - WHICH HAD BEEN DONE 3,000 MILES AGO AT THE SOUTHTOWNE HYUNDAI). LUCKY FOR ME, THE HEAD GASKET DID NOT BLOW ON A HIGHWAY OR HEAVY TRAFFIC BUT CLOSE TO THE DEALERSHIP. I AM NOW WAITING FOR REPAIRS THROUGH PONTIAC. *TR

I PURCHASED A 2004 PONTIAC AZTEK IN JUNE OF 2005 WITH 18K ON THE UNIT I DROVE MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES FOR MY JOB IN ALL OF 05' AND THE BEGINNING OF 06' I HAD TO HAVE THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL BEARING REPLACED IN JUNE OF 06' AND THEN THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IN JAN/ FEB. OF 07' THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE THE VEHICLE IS BARELY OUT OF WARRANTY AND IS FALLING APART / ALSO THE REAR HATCH IS FAILING THE HATCH WILL NOT OPEN PROPERLY WHEN THE BUTTON IS PUSHED OR YOU HAVE TO PULL UP ON THE HATCH WHEN YOU PUSH THE BUTTON / VERY FRUSTRATING. *NM
I OWN (2) AZTEK'S, A 2002 AND A 2004. I RECEIVED A LETTER IN SEPT 06 STATING THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH FRONT BEARINGS WEARING PREMATURELY ON 2002 AZTEK'S. THE LETTER STATED THAT THEY WILL REPLACE ANY DEFECTIVE BEARINGS WITHIN (5) YEARS OF DATE OF PURCHASE OR 60,000 MILES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST. SINCE MY 2002 AZTEK IS LOCATED AT MY VACATION HOME, IT HAS ONLY 18,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS NOT EXHIBITED THE WORN BEARING SYMPTOMS. HOWEVER, MY 2004 AZTEK DID HAVE THE BEARING ISSUE AT 48,000 MILES. I CALLED PONTIAC AND THEY SAID THEY WOULDN'T COVER THE EXPENSE BECAUSE IT IS NOT WITHIN THE VIN RANGE. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS, THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY EXPECTED THE RECALL TO BE EXPANDED TO LATER MODEL AZTEKS AND TO KEEP MY RECEIPT FOR REIMBURSEMENT AT A LATER DATE. I HAVE SINCE TRIED TO RECOUP MY MONEY TO NO AVAIL. BEWARE, REGARDLESS OF WHAT YEAR AZTEK YOU HAVE, YOU WILL MOST LIKELY EXPERIENCE THE PREMATURE BEARING WEAR BEFORE 50,000 MILES. MAKE SURE YOU ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AS SOON AS YOU EXPERIENCE THE SYMPTOMS, HUM GROWL OR GRINDING COMING FROM THE FRONT WHEELS. TALKING WITH PONTIAC CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE IS A JOKE. THEY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT LOSING A CUSTOMER. NO WONDER THE AMERICAN AUTOMAKERS KEEP LOSING MARKET SHARE. *JB
ON APRIL 17, 2006, I BROUGHT MY 2004 AZTEK IN TO THE PONTIAC DEALER BECAUSE THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND VIBRATION COMING FROM UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL BEARING WAS FAILING, AND THAT IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. SINCE IT WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY, AT 63,031 MILES, I PAID FOR THIS REPAIR. THEN, ON SEPTEMBER 13, 2006, I HEARD THE SAME NOISE AND VIBRATION COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE OF MY VEHICLE. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, AND PAID TO HAVE THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL BEARING REPLACED. THERE IS A RECALL NOTICE OUT ON THIS FAILURE, IF THE VEHICLE IS UNDER 60,000 MILES AND 5 YEARS OF SERVICE. I DID NOT SEE THIS RECALL NOTICE ON YOUR WEBSITE. I BELIEVE THESE FAILURES COULD HAVE POTENTIAL SEVERE CONSEQUENCES, AND GM SHOULD REIMBURSE ME FOR THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. *NM

PASSENGER SIDE FRONT BRAKE CALIPER. BOTH CALIPERS AND SHOES HAD TO BE REPLACES AT 38,000 MILES. *NM
ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2006 I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED MY 2004 PONTIAC AZTEC TO HAVE AN OIL CHANGE DONE. WHILE I WAS THERE, THE MAINTENANCE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT MY RIGHT WHEEL BEARING HUB ASSEMBLY WAS GOING TO NEED REPLACED VERY SOON. I WAS SHOCKED! LAST YEAR THE LEFT WHEEL BEARING HUB ASSEMBLY NEEDED REPLACED. I WAS VERY UPSET. I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT WITHIN 2 YEARS BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS ASSEMBLIES NEED REPLACED. I BEGAN TO LOOK ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THERE WERE SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAD SIMILIAR PROBLEMS WITH THE PONTIAC AZTEC. THIS MUST BE ADDRESSED. MY WIFE SPOKE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GENERAL MOTORS. NEITHER WERE WILLING TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. *NM
THE WELD BETWEEN THE FUEL TANK INLET CHECK VALVE AND THE FUEL TANK HAS FAILED CAUSING A GAS LEAK. THERE WAS AN EARLIER RECALL ISSUED (NHTSA RECALL NO. 03V454/GM RECALL NO. 03055) THAT WAS LIMITED TO 79 VEHICLES. I OWN A 2004 MODEL THAT IS NOT ONE OF THE 79 VEHICLES AND I AM ENCOUNTERING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AS WHAT IS OUTLINED IN THE RECALL. I BELIEVE MORE VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED THAT WHAT IS NOTED BY GM. *JB
WHILE DRIVING CAR WILL COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN, LOSING STEERING AND BRAKES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE LAST SIXTY DAYS. THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE SECOND TIME A DIFFERENT DEALER REPLACED A PART THAT THEY THOUGHT COULD BE CAUSING THIS PROBLEM, BUT APPARENTLY IT ISN'T. THE THIRD TIME I STOPPED TO GET GAS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE CAR FINALLY STARTED UP AND I DROVE IT A SHORT DISTANCE HOME. THE DEALER IS GOING TO CHECK IT OVER AGAIN AND HOPEFULLY FIND A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM, BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED BECAUSE OF THE MALFUNCTION. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT NO PARTICULAR SPEED THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE LIGHTS ON THE RADIO INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE STALLING. THIS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS PUT IN PARK THEN RESTARTED AND OPERATED PROPERLY. THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED A NEW CHIP IN AN EFFORT TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, BUT THIS HAS NOT REPAIRED THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED THE VEHICLE BE PULLED OVER AND TOWED IN, TO DETERMINE THE CODES ON THE COMPUTER.
DT: THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED 6 TIMES. THE BRAKES CONTINUOUSLY SQUEAL AND CRUNCH. THE DEALERSHIP CONTINUES TO REPLACE ITEMS ONE AT A TIME. THEY HAVE NOT STATED WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. THE MANUFACTURER REQUESTED THAT THE CONSUMER RETURN TO THE DEALER. THE PROBLEM STARTED APPROXIMATELY APRIL 15, 2005. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW. *JB
DT: 2004 PONTIAC AZTEC HAS A RECALL FOR IGNITION SWITCH. HOWEVER, THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALLED DUE TO VIN. THE VEHICLE STALLED AS DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL, BUT PONTIAC WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THIS VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, NO REPAIRS AS OF YET.*AK *JB
DT: THE CONSUMER STATES THAT JUST TWO DAYS OFF OF THE LOT SHE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HER ABS BRAKING SYSTEM. A NEW HARDWARE KIT WAS INSTALLED AND IT STILL DID NOT HELP THE PROBLEM. THE ABS PROBLEM WAS THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REALLY SHAKY AND MADE SOME TYPE OF NOISE WHILE BRAKING. IT WOULD MAKE HER BRAKE PADS WEAR OUT REAL QUICK. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER PUT NEW SPRINGS ON THE SUSPENSION. THE CONSUMER HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES, POWER STEERING, GAUGE IS BROKEN, RADIO LIGHTS. THE GEAR STICKS AND SHE HAS TO HOLD IT REALLY TIGHT AND PULL IT REALLY HARD TO MAKE IT GO INTO ANOTHER GEAR AND IT MAKES A BOOM SOUND. *TT
DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED IN A PARKING LOT BY MYSELF, MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF ON ME. THE BATTERY LIGHT FLASHED AND I LOST THE STEERING AND BRAKES. I HAD TO SLAM ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO AVOID HITTING A PARKED VEHICLE. THIS INCIDENT WAS REPORTED TO GM AND WAS TAKEN TO WAYNE WOODRUMS PONTIAC DEALERSHIP IN MACOMB, IL. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, THERE WERE NO CODES. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE INCLUDING BRAKING ISSUES THAT CAN NOT BE FIXED, PCV VALVE FAILURE, AND CURRENTLY IT IS STRUGGLING WHILE DRIVING AND LOUD RATTLING, I AM CALLING WOODRUMS BACK TOMMORROW MORNING. I AM UNSURE OF THE DATE THIS HAPPENED, ALL OF MY PAPERWORK IS IN ANOTHER LOCATION. I DO KNOW IT WAS IN NOVEMBER OF 2004. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY THE 3.4L ENGINE WOULD STALLS WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED OF 10 MPH OR LESS. VEHICLE WOULD RESTART. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO THE DEALER ON ONE OCCASION, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. CONSUMER WILL BE TAKING THE VEHICLE BACK IN FOR ANOTHER INSPECTION.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH ON A DARK BACK ROAD, AND SWITCHING FROM HIGH BEAM TO LOW BEAM, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED. *AK
THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH DRIVING VISIBILITY BOTH DURING DAYLIGHT AND DARK OF NIGHT. THE SPOILER DESIGN/LOCATION PART OF THE BODY SEPARATED THE UPPER GLASS AND LOWER SOLID DOOR. BF *SC

DRIVING ABOUT 5 MPH ENGINE SHUT DOWN. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. *AK
GAS LEAKING FROM THE AREA NEAR THE FUEL TANK WAS NOTICED WHEN THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A GARAGE. PREVIOUS TO THAT THE CAR WAS PARKED IN A APARTMENT PARKING LOT, SO THE GAS LEAK MAY HAVE EXISITED DAYS EARLIER. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO INJURIES OR FIRES BECAUSE OF THIS BEFORE IT WAS DETECTED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE WHOLE FUEL TANK AND SEAL. GAS WAS APPARENTLY LEAKING FROM A SEAM IN THE FUEL TANK. THOUGH SOME 2004 AZTEKS WERE RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM, MINE WAS APPARENTLY NOT ON THE RECALL LIST.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DO SO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
WHEN ROLLING THE WINDOWS DOWN AIR WAS COMING IN AND CAUSING A TURBULENCE IN THE VEHICLE. ALSO, IT WAS TOO LOUD, IT SOUNDED LIKE THE VEHICLE WAS GOING TO EXPLODE.*AK
WHILE PROCEEDING DOWN A STEEP HILL IN NORTHEREN PA THE ABS FAILED AND THE PONTIAC AZTEK BEGAN TO FISHTAIL AS THOUGH ON ICE. IT HAD TWO FRONTAL IMPACTS AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY.
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. *AK
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING AREA THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT THE STEERING COLUMN AND BRAKES LOCKED UP. THE DEALER CLAIMED THAT A POWER STEERING PUMP WAS INSTALLED ON THE VEHICLE. THE POWER STEERING COLUMN IS STILL WHINING AND THE BRAKES ARE STILL GRINDING AND THE STARTER IS STILL HESITATING. *NM THE FRONT AND BACK BUMPERS SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL HAD A LOT OF PLAY, THE WINDSHIELD CONTAINED NUMEROUS CHIPS, THE WINDOWS SQUEALED WHEN OPENING AND CLOSING, THERE WAS A CONSTANT WHINING SOUND COMING FROM THE STEERING WHEEL, THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP WHEN IN MOTION, AND THE VEHICLE WAS NEVER PROPERLY ALIGNED. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR THE WHINING, BRAKES AND THE STARTER, THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WAS LATER TOLD THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP HAD AN AIR BUBBLE. THE ENGINE WAS ALSO SLOW TO START AND WOULD CLICK AT TIMES. *SC *JB
WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, A WINDING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE THEN STALLED. THE CONSUMER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO. THE DRIVER APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT. THE TRANSMISSION LOCKED UP. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER. THE DRIVER TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THEN RESTARTED IT. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT A STEERING PUMP WAS NEEDED, BUT THE BRAKES AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE CONSUMER INFORMED THE MECHANIC THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED MORE THAN ONCE. THE DEALER AND THE MECHANIC WERE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON VACATION MY AZTEC JUST SHUT OFF. I HAD IT TOWED THEY RESET THE COMPUTER AND SENT IT OUT THE DOOR. EIGHT HOURS LATER IT DID IT AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED BACK AND THEY FOUND A BAD IGNITION RELAY!! THIS THING IS NOT EVEN FOUR MONTHS OLD. *AK
