THIS CAT HAS LEFT ME STRANDED MANY TIMES. LIKE AT THE MOMENT THE CAR HAS OVER HEATED AND I'M PULLED OFF THE SIDE OF HWY 26 HEADING TO PORTLAND. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAT TO MY MECHANIC SEVERAL TIMES AND UPON ITS RETURN WITHIN DAYS THE CAR IS DOING THE SAME THING. THE STEERING IS A MESS. THE CAR IS ALL OVER THE ROAD I'VE TAKEN IT TO LESSCHWAB 4 TIMES GOTTEN TWO ALIGNMENTS WITHIN A 2 MONTH PERIOD AND STILL CAR DOESN'T DRIVE RIGHT. I'VE REPLACED THE HEAD GASKET,,STARTER,BATTERY,TIRES, THE LIST GOES ON AND ON. THIS IS NOT AD DEPENDABLE CAR. I'M 60 MILES FROM HOME AND WONDERING HOW I'M GONNA GET BACK HOME. THANK YOU SUZUKI

I HAVE SPENT OVER $1500 FIX THIS PROBLEM AND IT STILL EXISTS I DID ALL THE WORK MYSELF I HAVE WORKED ON CARS MY WHOLE LIFE AND AM A MECHANIC. Summary

I PURCHASED A NEW 2004 SUZUKI FORENZA IN JULY OF 2004. I MUST SAY IT'S BEEN OK. IN APRIL OF 2008, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND WOULD NOT GO OFF. I TOOK IT TO HAVE IT SERVICED AT JIFFY LUBE, AND THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC WITH A COMPUTER TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM AS IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF THINGS. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC SHOP, WAS TOLD THE COOLANT WAS LOW, AND THEY SAW A SPOT ON THE ENGINE AND MAYBE THE ENGINE WAS SUCKING UP THE COOLANT, TO BRING IT BACK IN 2 WEEKS AND THEY WOULD CHECK THIS. IN THE MEANTIME I THOUGHT THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND TOOK IT TO A SUZUKI DEALER AFTER I HEARD THE WORDS COULD BE AN ENGINE PROBLEM. THE SUZUKI REPAIR SHOP INITIALLY SAID, THE CAR NEEDED A COMPUTER UPDATE, AND THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE SAME DAY, I PICKED THE CAR UP, AND IT WAS DRIVING WORSE THAN BEFORE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND CAR WAS NOT STARTING IN THE MORNING . I TOOK THE CAR IN AGAIN, THE NEXT WEEK, PAID $244.00 FOR A $20.00 PART, THEY KEPT THE CAR 3 DAYS, (WAITING THE $20.00 PART TO COME IN SUPPOSEDLY), PICKED THE CAR UP ON FRIDAY 5/16, SUNDAY 5/18, SAME PROBLEM BACK AGAIN, CALLED SUZUKI DEALERSHIP, WAS TOLD TO BRING CAR BACK IN AND THEY WOULD LOOK AT IT. IN THE MEANTIME MY EXTENDED WARRANTY IS NOW EXPIRED (OR COURSE) AND I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET FOR OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS MODEL CAR AND READ 7 PRIOR COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME PROBLEMS. MOST OF THE COMPLAINTS MENTIONED NO ONE COULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. IT APPEARS THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAPPENS BEFORE THE PAYOFF OF THE CAR, AND IT NO ONE CAN FIND THE PROBLEM, HOW IS THE CONSUMER TO HANDLE THE PROBLEM. THE PRIOR COMPLAINTS ALSO NOTED THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP 4 OR 5 TIMES, STILL NO SOLUTIONS. WITH OUR ECONOMY THE WAY IT IS TODAY, ISSUES WITH OUR CARS JUST ADD TO THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIX/ADVISE/CONSULT OR SOMETHING ABOUT HOW TO GET THIS ISSUE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AND CAR NOT STARTING IN THE MORNING RESOLVED. *TR

Summary

I PURCHASED A 2004 SUZUKI FORENZA, STICK SHIFT NEW. AT OR ABOUT 12,000 MILES IT STARTED TO CUT OFF AFTER DECELERATING TO EITHER MAKE A TURN OR ENTER THE INTERSTATE FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I'VE TAKEN IT TO TWO SEPARATE DEALERSHIPS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WITH THE HOPES THAT THEY COULD FIND AND SOLVE THE PROBLEM. SO FAR THEY HAVE FAILED IN THEIR ATTEMPTS. THE CAR STILL CUTS OFF AFTER IT BEEN RUNNING FOR AWHILE WHEN YOU'RE STOPPING OR SLOWING DOWN AND THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED. IN THESE INSTANCES I HAVE TO EITHER STOP THE CAR IF I'M COMING TO A TRAFFIC LIGHT TO RESTART OR IF I'M TRYING TO ENTER A BUSY HIGHWAY I HAVE TO COME OFF THE CLUTCH TO RESTART. I DON'T THINK THIS IS HOW A NEW CAR IS SUPPOSE TO DRIVE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AS I'M LEAVING WORK AND ATTEMPTING TO ENTER INTERSTATE 95 WHICH IS BUSY, AS I'M SLOWING DOWN TO ENTER THE CAR CUTS OFF AND ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I'VE HAD TRACTOR TRAILERS BEHIND ME ACCELERATING TO ENTER AS WELL AND ALL I CAN IMAGINE IS THEM SLAMMING INTO MY REAR. CERTAINLY FRIGHTENING. HAS THERE BEEN ANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE SO THAT I CAN TAKE THIS INFORMATION TO THE DEALERSHIP AND PERHAPS LEND THEM A HAND IN CORRECTING THE PROBLEM BEFORE I'M SERIOUSLY HURT? THE CAR ONLY HAS ABOUT 23,000 MILES AT THE PRESENT. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOU HELP IN ANYWAY. *NM

Summary

I AM NOT SURE IF THIS IS REALLY A DEFECT OR NOT, BUT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. MY CAR WAS LEGALLY PARKED ON THE STREET WHEN IT WAS TOTALED BY A DRUNK DRIVER GOING 70 MPH IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION. SOME HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT DEPLOY BECAUSE THE KEY WAS NOT IN THE IGNITION, BUT OTHERS (INCLUDING THE BODY SHOP OWNER) CLAIM THAT I HAD A FAULTY AIRBAG SENSOR ON MY CAR. IF THIS IS A DEFECT, I WANT THE SUZUKI MANUFACTURER TO KNOW ABOUT IT SO THAT NO ONE WILL GET HURT. IF NOT, JUST DISREGARD THIS MESSAGE. I FEEL STRONGLY THAT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MANUFACTURING GLITCH. MY NEW CAR HAD MANY ASSEMBLY LINE GLITCHES WHEN I BOUGHT IT NEW IN JULY OF THIS YEAR. FOR INSTANCE, THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD CONSTANTLY SWITCH ON AND OFF EVEN WHEN MY FOOT WAS NOWHERE NEAR THE BRAKE OR IF THE CAR WAS PARKED AND TURNED OFF. ALSO, A FEW DAYS AFTER THE PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE, THE ALIGNMENT WAS SO BAD THAT I ALMOST FLEW OFF THE FREEWAY INTO A CONCRETE GUARD RAIL. THESE PROBLEMS WERE ALL SAFETY ISSUES. THEY BOTHERED ME SO MUCH THAT I DOUBT I WILL EVER BUY ANOTHER SUZUKI AGAIN. *AK

I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2004 SUZUKI FORENZA FROM A SUZUKI DEALER IN TUCSON ARIZONA ON 05/21/04. FROM THE FIRST DAY WE DID NOT FEEL THAT A/C WAS WORKING CORRECTLY AND WAS COOLING AFTER A APPROX 30 MIN DRIVE. I BOUGHT A TEMP GAUGE TO CHECK THE VENT TEMP AND THE READING WILL NOT GO LOWER THEN 50F. ALL DRIVER'S SHOULD KNOW THAT A NICE COLD A/C SHOULD REACH 40F AT ITS BEST PERFORMANCE. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE FREON WAS LOW AND HAVE CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. THE A/C WORKED GOOD FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND STARTED PERFORMING THE SAME AS BEFORE. SECOND TIME, I TOOK THE DEALER TECHNICIAN WITH HIS DIGITAL TEMP READER ON A DRIVE. THE OUTSIDE TEMP WAS 106F AND THE VENT TEMP WAS 48F. PLEASE NOTE WHEN I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE CAR WAS RUNNING FOR MORE THEN 30 MINS. DEALERSHIP REFERRED TO THE SUZUKI TECH LINE AND TOLD ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE A/C. THERE EXPLANATION WAS THAT IF THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS 99F THEN THE VENT TEMP SHOULD BE HIGHER THEN 50F AND AS IT WAS 106F OUTSIDE, YOUR A/C IS WORKING FINE. THE DEALER WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE A SHODDY, CHEAP AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. PLEASE CHECK ALL ITEMS ON THE CAR PRIOR TO BUYING A SUZUKI AUTOMOBILE. *JB

Summary

Suzuki is recalling certain model year 2004-2006 Forenza and model year 2005-2006 Reno vehicles manufactured from September 23, 2003, through March 7, 2006. Increased resistance due to poor contact between the terminals of certain wires can generate heat that can melt the splice pack used to connect the power circuit wires for the headlamps. This can result in intermittent or total loss of low/high beam headlamp function.
