Hi my van started smell a lot to fuel so I looked for leaks and I found a big leak on the fuel rail rack dripping a lot of fuel on the side of engine when engine is running and the car is unsafe to drive and I’m very worried about this problem. This happened after my car stalled on the street and it never wanted to start again and when I make it start again it started smell gas

MY 2005 KIA SEDONA WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE AND IT CAUGHT FIRE IN THE DASH IN FRONT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THAT IS WHERE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT SAID IT STARTED. IT WAS A TOTAL LOSS, ONLY HAD 115,000 MILES, NO ISSUES. THANK GOD IT WAS AT 8 AM AND WE WERE AWAKE, EARLIER MY WHOLE FAMILY AND OUR HOME MAY HAVE BEEN GONE AS WELL.

MY KIA SEDONA STARTS WHEN IT WANTS TO. I HAVE POWER TO THE DASH LIGHTS, RADIO, AND OTHER ELECTRONICS. THE COMPANY HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE THE 2002 VERSION AND WITH HIGH MILES. IT HAS TO DEAL WITH THE "AN ISSUE WITH THE FACTORY VEHICLE IMMOBILIZER CONTROL MODULE CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO THINK IT IS BEING STOLEN. THIS WILL IMMEDIATELY DISALLOW THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING.". WHILE THIS IS GOOD MOST OF THE TIME, IT ISN'T GOOD SINCE IT DOESN'T SET OFF THE "ENGINE LIGHT" SO MECHANICS CAN READ THE COMPUTER. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR A MONTH AND MISSED NUMEROUS DAYS OF WORK DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THE MECHANICS THAT ATTEMPT TO WORK ON MY VEHICLE, CAN NOT GET IT TO DUPLICATE THE "NOT STARTING", IT WILL START EVERY TIME FOR THEM. MAKING ME FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR TWO MONTHS AND IT DRAINING MY FINANCES. I DID SOME RESEARCH OF MY OWN AND DISCOVERED THAT ON WWW.REPAIRPAL.COM HAS MANY WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. KIA WANTS ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE NEAREST KIA DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THE NEAREST DEALER IS 6 HRS AWAY AND THERE IS NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WOULD MAKE IT THERE. I COULDN'T EVEN DRIVE IT 2 HRS WITH OUT AN ISSUE. I FEEL SINCE THEY KNEW THERE WAS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS MODULE ON THIS VEHICLE, THEY SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT AND MAKE COMPENSATION FOR THE CUSTOMER.
WHILE DRIVING AT APPROX 55MPH ON BOTH A 2 LANE HWY AND THE INTERSTATE HWY, THE VAN WOULD SUDDENLY MAKE A LOUD BANG SOUND, JUMP, AND THE RPMS WOULD GO UP TO OVER 4000 AND SOUND LIKE IT WAS IN 2ND GEAR. ENG LIGHT CODE SAID INTAKE TRANS SENSOR, WHICH I HAD REPLACED. SAME PROBLEM HAPPEND 2 MORE TIMES AFTER THAT AND STILL NOT FIXED.WILL WORK FOR A WHILE AFTER SHUTTING CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT BUT SAME PROBLEM HAPPENS AFTER ABOUT 20 MILES. CODE STILL READS INTAKE SENSOR PROBLEM EACH TIME. I TRIED USING OFF BRAND SENSORS THE FIRST 2 TIMES AND AN AUTHENTIC KIA SENSOR THE 3RD TIME. THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE IN PERFORMANCE, JUST THE COST OF THE PARTS.
MY AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND I TALK TO KIA ABOUT IT THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME A PRICE FOR TO TAKE IT OFF I HAE A WHEEL BEARING PROMBLE TO. I HAD TO GET MY WHEEL BEARING REPAIR TO.

3/29/2016...MY 2005 KIA SEDONA HAS STEERING PROBLEMS. THE STEERING WHEEL IS TIGHT OR STIFF AND OFTEN DIFFICULT TO STEER ESPECIALLY IN MAKING RIGHT TURNS. MY MECHANIC EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM THIS MORNING WHEN DRIVING IT AND SAID IT IS THE STEERING COUPLER. WHEN HE CONTACTED A LOCAL KIA DEALERSHIP THEIR PARTS DEPARTMENT TOLD HIM THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ITEM. HOWEVER, IT SEEMS WHEN I CALLED TO ARRANGE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE RECALL ADDRESSED, I LEARNED THAT THERE IS NO OPEN RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AT THIS TIME BUT THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL BACK IN 2005 ON THE STEERING COUPLER AND WORK HAD BEEN DONE. HOWEVER, I DIDN'T PURCHASE THE VAN UNTIL 2007 AND WAS UNAWARE OF THAT RECALL. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS STEERING PROBLEM THAT IS OCCURRING NOW IN MY KIA SEDONA VAN AND THAT IT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AGAIN BY KIA AND BELIEVE THAT OTHER OWNERS MAY BE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS IN STEERING THEIR VANS AS I AM. THE STEERING COUPLER NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AGAIN.

FUEL TANK LEAKS DUE TO CORROSION NEAR FILLER TUBE. THIS IS A SIMULAR PROBLEM TO THE FUEL TANK CORROSION EXPERIENCED BY 2006-ON KIA SPORTAGES. DESCRIPTION: FUEL WILL LEAK FROM THE TANK WHEN THE TANK IS FULL DUE TO RUST/CORROSION OF THE TANK NEAR THE FILLER TUBE. THE VEHICLE IS OPERATED/OWNED IN MICHIGAN, AN AREA THAT USES LARGE AMOUNTS OF ROAD SALT DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. FUEL LEAKAGE IS POSING A POTENTIAL FIRE/EXPLOSION RISK AS FUEL VAPORS FROM THE LEAKAGE MAY BE IGNITED. FUEL LEAKAGE OCCURS BOTH WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. IF THE VEHICLE IS PARKED IN A CLOSED GARAGE THE VAPORS CAN ACCUMULATE, ELEVATING THE RISK FOR FIRE/EXPLOSION. (SIMULARLY THE REAR COOLANT LINES RUST THROUGH AS WELL DUE TO ROAD SALT, WHICH IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE KIA SEDONA)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ACCELERATION AND THE SPEED INCREASED WITHOUT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. WAS LEAVING OUR LOCAL WALMART ; AND WHEN ALMOST TO THE INTERSECTION; FELT THE CAR WHEEL WOBBLE LIKE I GOT A FLAT TIRE. WITH NORMAL TRAFFIC BRAKING FRONT BRAKE START TO SHUTTER AND BRAKE PEDAL WITH PULSE MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STOP THE VEHICLE EVEN DURING A NORMAL STOPPING ACTION WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL TIMES WHERE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN HARD TO STOP DURING EMERGENCY SITUATION WHICH REQUIRED EXCESS PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP. CHANGED ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS BETWEEN THE YEAR 2066- AND MOST RECENTLY 2014 4 TIMES WHICH STILL HAS NOT CORRECTED THE CONDITION. THE VEHICLE HAS 48900 MILE ON THE VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE NEED TO BE EVALUATED FOR SAFETY DEFECTS THAT COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. *TR

WE HAVE A 2005 SEDONA WHICH WE LOVE. IT'S BEEN A GREAT CAR FOR US. UNFORTUNATELY, WE HAVE HAD ONGOING ISSUES WITH IT FOR SOME TIME NOW. OUR MAIN PROBLEM AND CONCERN RIGHT NOW IS WITH THE FRONT END STRUTS AND OR ALIGNMENT. THE NOISE AND KNOCKING AT LOW SPEEDS (ESPECIALLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STAND-STILL) IS TROUBLESOME, BUT MORE TROUBLESOME IS THAT WE CONSTANTLY NEED TO REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES. WE ARE GOING ON OUR 4TH SET OF NEW TIRES (FOR THE FRONT ALONE) DUE TO ALIGNMENT ISSUES. NO BALANCING OR ALIGNMENT WORK HAS HELPED. AFTER HOURS OF RESEARCH ON LINE, IT SEEMS THAT THE FRONT BRAKES MAY BE UNDERSIZED CAUSING THE ROTORS TO OVER HEAT AND WARP. THE STRUTS ALSO SEEM TO HAVE A WRONG TYPE OF MOUNT SYSTEM AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO BE FOUND ON THE WEB FROM PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. THERE IS A TSB ON THE TOPIC (CHA015) REGARDING NEW STRUT MOUNTS, BUT WE ARE NOT SURE WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT NOW. HTTP://WWW.KIA-FORUMS.COM/KIA-CARNIVAL-SEDONA/26537-SEDONA-FRONT-STRUTS.HTML HTTP://FORUMS.EDMUNDS.COM/DISCUSSION/16289/KIA/SEDONA/KIA-SEDONA-STRUT-ISSUES HTTP://FORUMS.EDMUNDS.COM/DISCUSSION/7565/KIA/SEDONA/KIA-SEDONA-TIRES-WHEELS WE ARE SO DISAPPOINTED AND KIA SEEMS TO BE DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. THE PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE AND WE FEAR THAT THERE IS A SAFETY CONCERN HERE. *TR
I GOT THESE TIRES FROM WAL MART ON 07/03/2012 IN JULY I WENT TO TAKE WIFE TO WORK FOUND MY TIRE FLAT CHANGED OUT FOUND SIDE WALL CAME APART. THIS WAS A 60000 MILE TIRE WHY WOULD THIS HAPPENED I HAVE BEEN MECHANIC FROM OVER TEN YRS. NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH TIRES. COULD YOU TELL ME WHY?
THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM STARTS WHEN I'M ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND HAVE TO MAKE AN "IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED" BRAKING MANEUVER AT HIGHER SPEEDS OF 65-70MPH.(SLOWER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU = PANIC STOP, EXITING TO AN OFF RAMP AND A HARD STOP) WHEN BRAKING HARD THE CARS BRAKES SOUNDS LIKE THE ABS SYSTEM CAN'T GET A GRIP SO TO SPEAK AND THE WHOLE CAR SHUDDERS.THE CAR BRAKES BUT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR WEARING SOMETHING OUT. I HAVE HAD A MECHANIC TEST DRIVE THE CAR BUT HE COULD NOT REPLICATE THE CONDITION. I HAD NEW ROTORS PUT ON TO NO AVAIL. THE CONDITION CONTINUES AS OF TODAY UNDER THOSE CONDITIONS I'VE MENTIONED. I WILL LIVE WITH THE PROBLEM. THANK-YOU *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN THE CLEAR ROAD TURNED INTO BLACK ICE GOING AROUND A CORNER, I THEN GOT PULLED INTO SNOW AND THEN SIDE SWIPED A TELEPHONE POLE THAT SENT ME INTO A BOULDER BIGGER THAN MY CAR. THE IMPACT WAS AT 30MPH AND THE AIR BAGS WERE SUPPOSED TO DEPLOY BETWEEN 7 AND 10MPH. MY HEAD WHEN INTO THE WINDSHIELD 2 TIMES AND BOUNCED OFF THE STEERING WHEEL. MY WIFE SLAMMED HER HEAD OFF THE DASH AND MY DAUGHTER HAD A SEATBELT BRUISE. THE AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED AND KIA HAS A SO CALLED FIX FOR THE AIRBAGS BUT ITS STILL NOT OUT OR RECALLED YET. WHEN THE AMBULANCE SHOWED UP THEY HIT THE BLACK ICE AND ALMOST SLID INTO US. ABOUT 20 TO 30 MINS AFTER THE AMBULANCE SHOWED UP THE TOWN HAD A SALT AND SAND TRUCK COME OUT AND FIX THE CORNER. ON THE WAY TO THE HOSPITAL THE EMT TOLD ME I WAS THE 5TH OR 6TH PERSON TO CRASH IN THE SAME SPOT THIS YEAR. AND THE YEAR HAD JUST BEGUN. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY THE ENGINE WAS PUSHED BACK 2 TO 3 INCHES AND I HAVE PICS AND VIDEO OF THE DAMAGE. THE AIRBAGS COULD HAVE SAVED US A LOT OF PAIN AND SUFFERING AND HUGE HOSPITAL BILLS. *TR
DEAR OFFICER, I HAVE PURCHASED 2 SETS OF FOUR TIRES (ASSURANCE TRIPLETRED, 215/70R15) IN SUMMER 2010 AND 2011 (HYUNDAI XG AND KIA SEDONA). I FOUND THAT ONLY ONE OF TIRES SHOWS A KIND OF CRACKS A LOT ON THE SIDE (I HAVE THE PICTURE) RELATIVELY. I CHECKED THE DATE OF MANUFACTURING ON THE TIRE AND FOUND 'BLANK'. THREE OF FOUR SHOW THE YEAR AND WEEK (0923...). I ALSO FOUND THAT ONE OF FOUR TIRES IN MY ANOTHER CAR HAS NO DATE EITHER. IT'S ODD AND SUSPICIOUS TO ME. I HAVE GOT THEM ALL FROM A GOODYEAR STORE. I HAVE SOME PICTURES TO SHOW THE EVIDENCE. I AM SO SCARED WHEN I REALIZED THAT I HAVE DRIVEN MY CARS ON ILLEGALLY UPDATED OR SOLD TIRES. [XXX] P.S. I ALREADY CONTACTED GOODYEAR AND GOT FEEDBACK FROM MY CONTACT PERSON AT GOODYEAR, SAYING THAT IT'S ODD BUT CAN BE HAPPENED. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
IN JUNE AND JULY OF 2011 I PURCHASED 4 YOKOHAMA 215/70R15 98S AVID TOURING S TIRES FOR MY 2005 KIA SEDONA VAN. WITHIN THE LAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 TIRES DUE TO SEPARATION. DRIVING IS BOTH HIGHWAY AND CITY WITH AT LEAST 80 MILES HIGHWAY 5 DAYS EVER OTHER WEEK. SINCE PURCHASING THE TIRES I HAVE DRIVEN 46,000 MILES. THE FIRST SEPARATION OCCURRED AUGUST 1, 2012 WITH MILLAGE AT 157,000. THE SECOND ON NOVEMBER 21, 2012 AT 164,000 MILES. THE THIRD SEPARATION OCCURRED FEBRUARY 1, 2013 AT 176,000 MILES. THE SYMPTONS INDICATING A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES ARE; A. WOBBLING OF THE VEHICLE AT VERY LOW SPEED, B. PULLING TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT, C. INTENSE VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEED (>55). WE ARE LUCKY THERE HAVE BEEN NO ACCIDENTS RELATING TO THESE DEFECTIVE TIRES. THE FIRST TWO TIRES WERE REPLACED UNDER THE TIRE DEALERS WARRANTY PROGRAM. I LOST CONFIDENCE IN THE MANUFACTURER AND MODEL AFTER THE THIRD SEPARATION AND WITH CREDIT FROM YOKOHAMA PURCHASED FOUR NEW TIRES; DIFFERENT MAKE AND MODEL. ALL THE TIRES WERE RETAINED BY THE DEALER. THE LAST TIRE HAD A MANFACTURE DATE OF 81S0610. *TR

2005 KIA SEDONA BRAKE SYSTEM IS NOT SAFE. I HAVE REPLACED THE FRONT PADS, CALIPERS, WHEEL BEARING, AND DISKS MULTIPLE TIMES. WHEEL BEARING AND CALIPERS WERE FROZEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *TR
REAR COOLANT LINES ARE LEAKING ANTIFREEZE, CAUSING OVERHEATING, AND VEHICLE STALLING. *TR
SEAT BELT BUCKLE FELL OFF. THE CABLE THAT SECURES THE BELT BUCKLE TO THE SEAT WAS SEVERED IN HALF. THE WHOLE BUCKLE JUST CAME OFF IN MY HAND. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THREE HOURS AFTER ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WAS COMPLETED, THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE STARTED IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND UNDERNEATH THE DRIVERS SEAT. NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND STATED THAT IT WAS ELECTRICAL. A REPORT WAS FILED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED HER THAT THEY NEEDED TO SEE PICTURES AND THE FIRE REPORT BEFORE THEY COULD INVESTIGATE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK. THE CONTACT HAD TO EXIT FROM ANOTHER DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO UTILIZE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE ROTORS ON THE VEHICLE WERE WARPED WITHIN TWO THOUSAND MILES. THE CONTACT HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER REPEATEDLY FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY, THEY PURCHASED AFTER MARKET ROTORS THAT WARPED AS WELL. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO REDESIGNED A ROTOR THAT WARPED AS WELL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EVERY ROTOR PLACED ON THE VEHICLE WARPED WITHIN TEN THOUSAND MILES. WHEN THE ROTOR WARPED, IT MADE THE VEHICLE EXTREMELY HARD TO HANDLE. THIS PROBLEM HAD ALSO CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO NEED TO NEW TIRES AND AN ALIGNMENT. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED SINCE THE VEHICLE BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9500. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
I GOT MY 2005 KIA SEDONA IN 5/2006 USED. SINCE THAT TIME, I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE BRAKES REPLACED (PADS AND ROTORS) AT LEAST 6 TIMES, HAVE HAD TO HAVE 4 SETS OF TIRES AND HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE AIR CONDITIONING REPLACED. THE COMPRESSOR IN THE A/C WENT COMPLETELY OUT IN 2009. THIS IS ALL IN ADDITION TO: REPLACING SPARK PLUGS, FANS, ETC ETC. I HAVE SPENT A HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY ON THIS VAN AND IT STILL SHAKES, PULLS ETC AND THE BRAKES ARE ABOUT TO HAVE TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. *TR
MY DRIVERS SIDE POWER WINDOW WAS NOT ALWAYS COMING UP OR DOWN I BROUGHT IT IN TO THE KIA DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE SWITCH HAD MELTED. THEY ALSO PUT IN A NEW MOTOR FOR THE POWER WINDOW. TOTALING $689 AND THE WARRANTY ISN;T THERE TO HELP US. IT WAS A SECOND HAND VAN. WE ARE CONCERNED SINCE IT IS A 2005 KIA SEDONA AND ITS THUS ONLY 5 YRS OLD AND THAT THE FACT IT MELTED AFTER OVER HEATING. *TR
I OWN A 2005 KIA AND WE HAVE REPLACED THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIME BECAUSE IT SQUEALS AND MOANS AND THEY SHAKE THE CAR WHEN APPLIED BUT REPLACING THEM DOESN'T SEEM TO HELP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH HE FELT A VIBRATION WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. WHEN HE PULLED OVER HE NOTICED THAT THE FRONT END SUSPENSION HAD FALLEN APART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HER TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS THE CONTACTS DRIVING HABIT THAT CONTRIBUTED TO THE FRONT END SUSPENSION FAILING. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED FOUR TIMES AND IS CURRENTLY WAITING FOR THE FIFTH PART TO BE INSTALLED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WHEEL BEARINGS AND THE KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY WHICH HAS FALLEN APART FIVE TIMES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 123,442.
I HAVE A 2005 KIA SEDONA EX AND THE BRAKES HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A LITTLE WEAK FOR THE VEHICLE BUT AFTER HAVING BRAKE ISSUES WITH THE ROTORS GLAZING (BECOMING TO HOT) AND HAVING TO REPLACE PADS WAY TO OFTEN ABOUT EVERY 6-8 THOUSAND MILES I DECIDED TO GO ONLINE AND LOOK UP ISSUES AND IT SEEMS THAT MODEL YEAR HAS HAD SEVERE BRAKE ISSUES THAT KIA KNOWS ABOUT AND SAYS THEY ARE WORKING ON AN UPGRADE THAT THE OWNER CAN PURCHASE BUT YET NONE HAVE BEEN RELEASED TO DATE. MULTIPLE OWNERS COMPLAINING OF EXACT SAME ISSUES REGARDING THE BRAKING SYSTEM BEING WAY TO SMALL FOR THE VEHICLE WEIGHT AND I THOUGHT THIS NEEDED TO BE AT LEAST BROUGHT TO YOUR ATTENTION. KIA'S FIX IS TO REPLACE ROTORS AND PADS BUT THE VEHICLES HAVE THE EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS WITHIN SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.. THIS COULD AND ALMOST HAS CAUSED ME TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT. LOVE THE VAN HATE THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND AM CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE USE OF AFTERMARKET DRILLED AND SLOTTED BRAKE ROTORS TO REDUCE HEATING ISSUES.. I AM 37 YR OLD WITH A WIFE AND 7 YEAR OLD SON AND I DON'T DRIVE MY VAN HARD BUT WHEN I NEED IT TO STOP I EXPECT IT TO STOP... *TW
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH OUT OF A PARKING GARAGE HE NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE RACK AND PINION; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE IS STILL OCCURRING. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 71000.
FAILURE OF RIGHT PASSENGER REAR HUB, A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THE 2003-2005 KIA SEDONAS. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL, I WAS ALMOST IN A VEHICLE ACCIDENT FOR THE REASON THAT MY HUB UNIT BROKE ON MAY WAY TO WORK ON THE HIGH WAY. THIS HAPPENED ON SATURDAY 16, 2010. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS; THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE WHEN PRESSURE WAS APPLIED TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. SUDDENLY, THERE WAS NO POWER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE EMERGENCY LANE; HOWEVER, REVERSE WAS THE ONLY FUNCTIONAL GEAR. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY IN "REVERSE" CAUTIOUSLY TO A NEARBY RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 85,000.
I OWN A 2005 KIA SEDONA WITH THE SAME BRAKE PROBLEMS AS THE OTHER COMPLAINTS. THE DEALER REPLACED THEM UP UNTIL THE WARRANTY RAN OUT AND NOW IT ALL COMES OUT OF MY POCKET. I'VE HAD THE BRAKES DONE AT LEAST 5 TIMES ON THIS VEHICLE AND THIS IS RIDICULOUS. DOES SOMEONE NEED TO DIE IN ORDER FOR THIS TO BE CORRECTED?? THE ENTIRE FRONT END SHAKES AND STUTTERS HORRIBLY AND EVERY TIME I'VE BEEN TOLD MY BRAKES/ROTORS NEED REPLACED. *TR
2ND COMPLAINT FOR THE 2005 KIA SEDONA - REAR TIRE WEAR. EVERY SET OF TIRES I PUT ON THE VEHICLE NEED TO BE REPLACED IN THE BACK AFTER 6 MONTHS DUE TO EXTREME INSIDE WEAR. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A PRIVATE REPAIR SHOP AND THEY STATED THERE WAS NO WAY TO ADJUST AND SUGGESTED TAKING TO A DEALER. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND GOT THE SAME RESPONSE - PLUS NO AFTERMARKET PART TO PUT ON IT EITHER. OF COURSE IT TOOK ME 3 MONTHS TO GET A RESPONSE OUT OF THE DEALER ON THE AFTERMARKET QUESTION. NOW, EVERY 10,000-15,000 MILES I REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES WITH NEW, AND PUT THE OLD ONES ON THE BACK. I EVEN TOOK THE TIRES TO THE DEALER FOR SHOW AND TELL....THEY HAD NO ANSWER FOR THE PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2005 KIA SEDONA VAN WITH LESS THAN 34,000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN PULSATING PROBLEM IN WHAT I THOUGHT WAS MY BRAKES BUT NOW KNOW THAT IT IS THE ROTORS ON MY VAN. WHEN DRIVING ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I APPLY MY BRAKES THE SHAKING AND PULSATION MAKES ME THINK I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STOP. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I FIND THAT MANY SEDONA OWNERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS. I TOOK IT IN TO MY LOCAL KIA DEALER TODAY(7/28/2009) AND THEY TOLD ME THAT YES MANY HAVE THIS PROBLEM BUT IT IS NOT SOMETHING THAT IS COVERED WITH MY WARRANTY. I HAVE TO HAVE THEM REPLACED OR TURNED AT A COST TO ME OF SOME $400. WHY WHEN SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE WHY HAS NO ONE ISSUED A RECALL TO FIND OUT WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. I AM JUST AS FRUSTRATED AS THE OTHER OWNERS TRYING TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. I GUESS IT IS GOING TO TAKE A FEW PEOPLE GETTING HURT OR KILLED BEFORE THIS ISSUE CAN BE RESOLVED. *TR
I AM WRITING A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE ROTORS AND BRAKES ON MY 2005 KIA SEDONA. I KNOW MANY OTHERS THAT OWN THE SAME TYPE OF VAN AND ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY KNOW AND ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. THEY HAVE TOLD ME THAT THE ROTORS NEED TO REPLACED AND THAT THE BRAKES ALSO NEED TO BE. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN SEVERAL TIME TO HAVE MY BRAKES CHECKED AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY ARE FINE AND THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ROTORS AND THAT IT IS A DEALER PROBLEM. I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS TO BE LOOKED INTO MORE AS TO I WOULD NOT WANT TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT WITH SUCH A PROBLEM TO MY VAN. *TR
ON JUNE 20TH I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MY WIFE THAT OUR VAN HAD OVERHEATED AND SHUT IT SELF OFF IN THE INTERSECTION, (LUCKILY THERE WAS NOT MUCH TRAFFIC.) WHEN I ARRIVED I FOUND THE VAN OUT OF COOLANT. I REFILLED THE COOLANT AND CHECKED FOR LEAKS, FINDING NONE I DROVE THE VAN HOME. UPON ARRIVAL AT HOME I FOUND THE VAN TO BE ALMOST OUT OF COOLANT AGAIN, BUT FOUND NO LEAKS. I REFILLED IT AGAIN AND THE NEXT DAY AFTER A SHORT TRIP I FOUND A LARGE PUDDLE OF COOLANT UNDER THE VEHICLE. I TRACED IT BACK TO TWO METAL LINES COMING OFF THE BACK OF THE MOTOR. I CALLED KIA FOR SERVICE AND WHEN THE I TOLD THEM IT WAS LEAKING COOLANT, THEIR RESPONSE TO ME WAS "OFF THE BACK OF THE MOTOR?". AFTER TALKING WITH HIM FOR A FEW MINUTES I WAS TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY FOR THAT ITEM EXPIRED AT 60000 MILES AND OUR VAN HAS 65000. I SCHEDULED THE SERVICE, THEN BEGAN THINKING ABOUT HOW QUICKLY HE KNEW EXACTLY WHERE IT WAS LEAKING FROM, AND THEN I SEARCHED ONLINE FINDING A TSB FOR THE REPAIR. THIS PROMPTED ME TO CONTACT KIA TO SEE IF THEY WOULD STILL COVER THE REPAIR AND AFTER SPEAKING WITH AN AGENT AND A COUPLE PHONE CALLS LATER I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT. THE LEAKING COOLANT COMES FROM TWO METAL COOLANT LINES THAT RUN TO THE REAR OF THE VAN FOR THE REAR HEATER. THESE LINES RUST AND CORRODE OVER A COUPLE YEAR PERIOD ALLOWING THEM TO LEAK. I WAS TOLD BY THE GENTLEMAN AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT I AM LUCKY AS MOST PEOPLE DON'T CATCH THIS IN TIME AND DO LOTS OF DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR OF THE VEHICLE. I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IF THE VEHICLE JUST DIES IN A TRAFFIC IT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, AND IF THE VEHICLE DIES IN INCLEMENT WEATHER INJURY OR DEATH COULD OCCUR. KIA IS OBVIOUSLY AWARE OF THE SITUATION DUE TO THE TSB AND AT THE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD ONE MANUFACTURER USES ALUMINUM LINES WITH A PLASTIC COATING TO PREVENT THIS FROM OCCURRING, SO THEY ARE AWARE OF A SOLUTION. RIGHT NOW IT IS GETTING THE LINES REPLACED WITH THE SAME TYPE OF LINES THAT CORRODED, SO I WILL BE BACK IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. *TR
FROM THE FIRST DAY I DROVE MY 2005 KIA SEDONA OFF THE LOT IT HAS VIBRATED WHEN THE BRAKES ARE USED. EVEN AFTER HAVING THEM REPLACED IT CONTINUES TO VIBRATE SO I DID NOT REALIZE IT WAS A BIG BIG PROBLEM UNTIL I STARTED TO READ THE REPORTS ON IT NOW I CANNOT WAIT TILL I HAVE IT PAID FOR SO I CAN BUY SOMETHING ELSE...THE BRAKES ALSO MAKE A MOANING NOISE AND/OR SQUEALING NOISE...THIS IS NOT ALL THE TIME BUT IT IS AGGRAVATING ...WILL NO BUY KIA PRODUCT AGAIN...THE ONLY REASON I GOT THIS ONE WAS THERE WAS NOT MUCH CHOICE AFTER KATRINA HIT AND NOW I AM STUCK WITH IT FOR A FEW MORE YEARS...WHY WON'T THEY FIND A FIX FOR IT BEFORE SOME ONE IS REALLY HURT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT FELT A PULSATING SENSATION WHEN BRAKING, WHICH CAUSED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE TO SHAKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH OR LESS ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE CONTACT EXERTED MUCH EFFORT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THE VEHICLE STEERED IN ONE DIRECTION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO MAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL BEFORE IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS POSSIBLY RELATED TO THE RACK AND PINION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. RECENTLY, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THERE WERE NO JURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THEY WERE CONTRIBUTED TO THE INTERMITTENT JOINT SHAFT, WHICH WAS A COMMON DEFECT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
BRAKES SQUEALED AT SLOWER SPEEDS. BRAKES REPLACED USING KIA PARTS TWICE IN 2 YEARS. EVENTUALLY, BRAKING AT HIGH SPEEDS (OVER 35MPH & ON HWY) CAUSED VAN TO SHAKE EXCESSIVELY, AND STEERING WHEEL TO VIBRATE, ALONG WITH RETURN OF SQUEALING NOISE AT LOWER SPEEDS. KIA PARTS USED AGAIN TO REPLACE BRAKE DISCS, ROTORS 01/09. WITHIN ONE MONTH THE SQUEALING AND THEN SHAKING PROBLEMS RETURNED. GOODYEAR FOUND OTHER REPORTS OF THIS SAME PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE KIA PARTS WITH AN UPGRADED AFTERMARKET BRAND OF PARTS. NO PROBLEMS SINCE! WE HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE TIRES 3 TIMES BEFORE THIS LATEST FIX. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC FOR REPAIR. THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V232000 (WHEELS); HOWEVER, HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. SHE FELT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BECAUSE THE WHEEL BEARINGS WERE VERY UNSAFE. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH HER PARTICULAR VEHICLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,800.
I OWN A 2005 KIA SEDONA THAT I PURCHASED NEW. I PUT THE FIRST SET OF BRAKES ON IT AT 15,000 MILES. IT NOW HAS 52,000 AND I'M GOING TO HAVE TO PUT THE FIFTH SET ON. I CONTACTED KIA DIRECTLY AND THEY TOLD ME THEIR WASN'T A RECALL BUT THERE WAS A BRAKE SYSTEM UPGRADE THAT I COULD PURCHASE. I ASKED IF THEY WERE AWARE OF A BRAKE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID ONLY IN CERTAIN AREAS ,DEPENDING ON THE TERRAIN. I AM 32 YEARS OLD AND HAVE NEVER SEEN NOTHING LIKE THIS AND I HAVE ALWAYS LIVED HERE. AT 52,000 MILES I SHOULD JUST NOW BE PUTTING ON THE FIRST SET OF BRAKES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHENEVER THE CONTACT ATTEMPTS TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKES BEGIN TO MAKE A MOANING SOUND. THE CONTACT ONLY NOTICED THE SOUND WHILE BRAKING AT LOW SPEEDS. HE DID NOT NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCES BEFOREHAND AND THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER SEVERAL DIFFERENT TIMES. THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. UPDATED 09/17/08. *LJ UPDATED 09/24/08. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND THE KEY WAS STILL IN THE IGNITION, THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO ACCESS THE VEHICLE WITHOUT CALLING FOR AUTO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT WAS DISPLEASED TO DISCOVER THAT THERE WAS AN AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK MECHANISM. HE WAS CONCERNED THAT IF THERE WERE A BABY OR SENIOR CITIZEN IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THEY COULD POSSIBLY BE INJURED. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE UNAVAILABLE.
IN REFERENCE TO CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 05V232000. MY KIA SEDONA HAS THE DEFECTIVE WHEEL BEARINGS AS INDICATED BY THE REPORT, BUT SOMEHOW HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL. MY VEHICLE IS BEING SERVICED BY KIEFER KIA IN EUGENE, OREGON. THE DEALERSHIP IS MAKING, AND PAYING FOR, NECESSARY REPAIRS. TO MY UNDERSTANDING, HAD WE NOT FOUND THIS ISSUE BEFORE OUR WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED WE WOULD HAVE BEEN LIABLE FOR THE COST OF REPAIR. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS RECALL EXTENDED THROUGH MY VIN #, IF YOUR FINDINGS SUPPORT MY COMPLAINT. MORE-SO FOR REASON TO COVER ANY OTHER PAST/FUTURE RECALLS FOUND THAT OUR VAN MAY BE AFFECTED BY. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE BRAKES MADE A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE WITHOUT THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED. WHEN THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE FRONT BRAKES WERE PAST THE SAFETY STANDARDS AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED, BUT LASTED ONLY 14,000 MILES. THE BRAKES WERE SUPPOSED TO LAST 30,000 TO 40,000 MILES. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED INFORMATION THAT STATED THE BRAKE SHOES APPEARED TO BE TOO LIGHT FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,730 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,777.
THIS VAN HAS BEEN IN 3 TIMES FOR BRAKES THE ROTORS KEEP WARPING. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE KIA PLACE TWICED AND TO IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP THE THIRD TIME. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE VAN FOR 2 YEARS (MAY 08). THE OTHER DEALERSHIP SAYS, THAT I WILL HAVE TO REPLACE THE ROTORS EVERY 6 MONTHS. THE ROTORS BECOME WARPED "EXCESSIVE LATERAL RUN OUT" PER KIA THE FRONT TIRES WEAR EXCESSIVELY, AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STAY ALIGNED. ALL THAT KIA WILL DO IS REPLACE THE FRONT ROTORS AND PADS UNTIL THE WARRANTY IS OUT THEN THE CONSUMER PAYS. I HAVE RESEARCH ON LINE THE FRONT BRAKES ARE UNDERSIZED, CAUSING THE ROTORS TO OVER HEAT AND WARP. THE STRUTS SEEM TO HAVE A WRONG TYPE OF MOUNT SYSTEM AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED. KIA IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT THIS THEY STATE THAT IT IS DRIVING HABITS. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS, KIA'S FINAL STAND IS THAT IT IS MY DRIVING HABITS. THEY ARE NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SAFETY FLAW IN THEIR ENGINEERING OF THE FRONT END BEING IN ADEQUATE FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. KIA NEEDS TO STAND UP AND FIX THERE VANS'. I HAVE REPLACED 6 TIRES IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. *TR
EVERY 2-5 THOUSAND MILES THE ROTORS BECOME WARPED "EXCESSIVE LATERAL RUN OUT" PER KIA THE FRONT TIRES WEAR EXCESSIVELY, AND THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STAY ALIGNED. ALL THAT KIA WILL DO IS REPLACE THE FRONT ROTORS AND PADS UNTIL THE WARRANTY IS OUT THEN THE CONSUMER PAYS. AFTER HOURS OF RESEARCH ON LINE THE FRONT BREAKS ARE UNDERSIZED, CAUSING THE ROTORS TO OVER HEAT AND WARP. THE STRUTS SEEM TO HAVE A WRONG TYPE OF MOUNT SYSTEM AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. TWO WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT END BRAKES BEGAN VIBRATING AND SHAKING WHEN THEY WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, AND THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED TWICE. THE PURCHASE DATE AND SPEED WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26,657 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,399.
VEHICLE HAS MULTIPLE BRAKE ISSUES...REPLACED FRONT ROTOR AND PADS 3 TIMES, AND REPLACED FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS TWICE. VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT WITH 7,226 MILES AND NOW HAS 20,000 MILES. THE BELTS WERE REPLACED TWICE AND THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS FIXED TWICE SO FAR. VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT AT ZEISER MOTORS IS ST. THE 2005 KIA SEDONA I OWN HAS BEEN PLAGUED BY NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. THE FIRST OF WHICH IS A BRAKE MALFUNCTION. IT WAS THUMPING WHEN BRAKING AT HIGH SPEEDS THEN GRINDING WHEN BRAKING AT LOW SPEEDS. THE PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, ROTORS MACHINED, THEN THEY WERE REPLACED. ALSO, THERE IS A JOINT OR STRUT PROBLEM B/C . WHEN YOU GO OVER A BUMP IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD IT SOUNDS CREAKY AND AS IF IT MIGHT SNAP. ALSO, POWER DOOR LOCKS HAVE BEEN SERVICED TWICE. IN ADDITION THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY SHAKY. THE DEALER BLAMED THAT ON ALIGNMENT. ALSO, THE TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED AT LESS THAN 25K AND PROBABLY HAVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED SINCE 15K. THIS IS DUE TO THE BRAKE PROBLEM I AM CERTAIN. ALL ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THESE ISSUES RESOLVED HAVE BEEN BLOWN OFF BY THE DEALER -- UNTIL 11/07 WHEN I DEMANDED THAT THERE WAS INDEED SOMETHING WRONG. *TR
BRAKE ROTORS WARPING. BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES AND DOING IT AGAIN. FIRST TIME WAS AT 1,982 MILES THEN AGAIN AT 3,895 MILES AGAIN AT 8,190 MILE AGAIN AT 14,285 MILES AND NOW AGAIN AT 18,000 MILES. THEY HAVE RESURFACED(X2) REPLACED THE ROTORS (X1) THE ROTORS AND REPLACED THE PADS ALL 4 TIMES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE VEHICLE HAS KUMHO, SIZE P195/55R15 TIRES. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS FLAT. THE TIRE WAS REMOVED TO REVEAL THAT THE INSIDE SIDE WALL WAS CRACKED. NO NAILS OR HOLES WERE FOUND IN THE TIRE. THE INNER RING OF THE TIRE APPEARED AS IF IT WOULD POP. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE TIRE WITH A FULL SIZE TIRE AND DROVE TO THE DEALER WITH THE TIRE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TIRE HAD BEEN DRIVEN ON WHILE IT WAS UNDERINFLATED; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DISAGREED. THE TIRE HAS YET TO BE REPLACED. THE WEATHER WAS COOL AND DRY AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. NO PICTURES WERE TAKEN AND NO INVOICE WAS ISSUED. THE DOT NUMBER AND OTHER TIRE INFORMATION WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 20,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED AT 8,700 MILES. AT 16,400 MILES, THE VEHICLE NEEDS NEW ROTORS AND READJUSTING OF THE REAR BRAKES. AS A RESULT, THE BRAKES PULSATE AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SHAKE AND MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO BRAKE. WHEN SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO HER RIDING THE BRAKES WHILE DRIVING. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,400 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,700.
I OWN A 2005 KIA SEDONA LX THAT WAS PURCHASED APRIL 05'. I'D NOTICED OFF AND ON FOR THE PAST 3-4 MONTHS A MUSTY ODOR PERMEATING FROM THE VENTS WHEN USING THE AC. I INQUIRED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AS TO WHETHER OR NOT THIS VEHICLE HAD A FILTER FOR THE COOLING UNIT AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE OLDER KIA'S DO NOT HAVE FILTER SYSTEMS. IT WAS FURTHER EXPLAINED TO ME THAT I WAS PROBABLY SMELLING MOLD FROM CONDENSATION THAT BUILDS UP ON THE EVAPORATOR, WHILE USING THE AC, DRAINS INTO THE RESERVOIR AND OVER TIME MOLD FORMS. TO PREVENT THE CREATION OF MOLD THE VENT WOULD NEED TO BE CHANGED TO NORMAL AIR FLOW, MANUALLY, PRIOR TO SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF. TO REMOVE THE MOLD THE EVAPORATOR NEEDS TO BE CLEANED AND TREATED WITH AN ANTI-FUNGAL SPRAY. AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE AFORE MENTIONED SERVICE IS TO DIRECTLY SPRAY THE ANTI-FUNGAL AGENT INTO THE VENTS WHILE THE HEATER IS ON HOPEFULLY, KILLING THE MOLD AND ELIMINATING THE SMELL. I'VE CONTACTED KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS AGAIN INFORMED THAT THIS IS CLASSIFIED AS A "MAINTENANCE" ISSUE, WHICH ISN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY (COST ANTICIPATED $1,000). GOOD NEWS THOUGH, ALL KIA'S FROM 2006 THROUGH PRESENT DAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A CABIN FILTER; AND AN AUTO-SWITCH FOR AIR FLOW, PREVENTING MOLD. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND HAD A FILTER SYSTEM OF SOME KIND BEEN USED THERE WOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE WITH MOLD. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER TO INFORM THE CONSUMER OF THIS HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH ISSUE. SO WHILE I'M BEING TOLD THAT THIS ISN'T A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM, BUT RATHER A "MAINTENANCE" ISSUE, THE VENTS CONTINUE TO BLOW THE AIR DIRECTLY TOWARD MY FACE, THUS CAUSING HEALTH RISK EXPOSURE. I KNOW THAT PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE GONE TO GREAT LENGTHS TO EXPLAIN SIGNS AND WARNINGS OF MOLD EXPOSURE AND REQUEST PREVENTATIVE MEASURES BE TAKEN SINCE THERE ARE MOLD EXCLUSIONS, SURELY MANUFACTURES SHOULD BE HELD TO THE SAME STANDARD. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME OF LOOKING INTO THIS MATTER. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS UNKNOWN, HOWEVER, THEY REPLACED THE ROTORS. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE DRUMS AND PADS WERE REPLACED. THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000. UPDATED 12/12/2007 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED KIA DOES NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THIS AND DENIES THERE IS A PROBLEM. UPDATED 12/12/07 *TR
BOUGHT NEW JAN-2006, EARLY MORNING START UP CAR WOULD MAKE LOUD GURGLE AND HISSING SOUND,THEN WHEN PUT INTO GEAR THE BRAKES WOULD GRAB AND MAKE A GRINDING FEELING THROUGH THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PULL TO THE RIGHT AS IT STARTED TO ROLL. KIA SAYS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. FINALLY IT WAS DETERMEND THAT ABS MODULE WAS BAD, AND REPLACED.NOW SEPT 2007 IM HAVING THE SAME TROUBLE AGAIN.BUT WORSE. CAR WILL NOT STOP ALL THE WAY EVEN WHEN BRAKE PEDAL IS APPLIED AT FULL FORCE. THE CAR JUST DOES NOT WANT TO STOP. CAUSING THE CAR TO CONTINUE ROLLING THRU AN INTERSECTION.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A GRINDING NOISE AND THE BRAKES VIBRATED WHEN THEY WERE APPLIED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE WAS TOO HEAVY FOR THE BRAKING SYSTEM AND CAUSED THE BRAKES AND ROTORS TO WARP. THE BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR MORE TIMES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,086 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
HAVE A 2005 KIA SEDONA AND THE VAN HAS 22,000 AND HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP FOR BRAKE PROBLEMS OVER 6 TIMES. SINCE 8/05 HAS BEEN BACK IN FOR SERVICE FOR OIL LEAKS, REMOTE PROBLEMS, TIRE PROBLEMS. THE ROTORS HAVE BEEN CHANGED, THE PADS, EVERYTHING HAS BEEN DONE BUT AFTER A LITTLE TIME PASSES THE NOISE AND THE PULSATING COMES BACK. THE VAN STARTS TO PULL WHEN YOU GO TO PUT ON THE BREAKS AND IT MAKES NOISES. KEEP BRING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY FIX IT WITH NEW BRAKES, ROTORS, PADS BUT THE PROBLEM KEEPS COMING BACK AND BACK. SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AND PADS, AND ROTORS SO MANY TIMES WITH VERY LITTLE MILEAGE ON IT. *JB UPDATED 12/12/07 *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE TOOK APPROXIMATELY FIVE SECONDS TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY STALL WHEN IDLING. THE VEHICLE WOULD RESTART, BUT THEN SHUT OFF AGAIN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS PRESENT. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE OR DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 39,000. UPDATED 01-16-08. *KB THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO A FAULTY ENGINE CONTROL MODULE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH THE FRONT BRAKES WOULD SQUEAK AND GRIND. THE DEALER STATED THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE BRAKES, HOWEVER; THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED. THE BRAKES OPERATED NORMAL AFTER BEING REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RETURNED AFTER TWO MONTHS. THE VIN, ENGINE SIZE AND CYLINDERS WERE UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ROTORS AND BRAKES CONSTANTLY OVERHEAT AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO VIBRATE AND SHIFT OUT OF ALIGNMENT WHEN HE DEPRESSES THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE FAILURE WAS NOTICED WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY CONTINUOUSLY INFORM HIM TO REPLACE THE BRAKES. HOWEVER, THE VIBRATION ALWAYS RECURS WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF HAVING THE BRAKES AND ROTORS REPLACED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE WHEEL HUB SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE CAUSED HER TO CRASH INTO A TREE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SHOP AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE INSURANCE COMPANY STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. SHE THEN SEARCHED ONLINE AND DISCOVERED RECALL NUMBER 05V232000 (WHEELS). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL BECAUSE IT APPLIED TO ALLOY WHEELS, NOT ALUMINUM. SHE BELIEVES THAT HER VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 78,041.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED THE MIDDLE ROW SEATS TO DETACH FROM THE FLOOR AND SLAM INTO THE FRONT SEATS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE REPAIR SHOP. THEY STATED THAT THE PLASTIC LATCH BROKE. THERE ARE PICTURES AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 27,000.
MY WIFE WENT TO START OUR 2005 KIA, SHE HEARD THE STARTER CLICKING. SHE THEN TURNED OFF THE VAN. TRIED A SECOND TIME, HEARD THE STARTER CLICKING AND TOOK OUT THE KEY, THE CLICKING NOISE CONTINUED, THEN SMOKE CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD, HER FATHER HAD TO PUT THE FIRE OUT WITH A GARDEN HOSE. *JB
CONTINUAL PROBLEM WITH ROTORS WARPING. CAUSES VEHICLE TO BE DIFFICULT TO STOP OR SLOW DOWN. *TR
2005 KIA SEDONA VAN WITH MULTIPLE DEFECTS CUSTOMER STATES, MOTOR AND TWO FREON UNITS FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING WERE REPLACED, ALONG WITH VARIOUS OTHER THINGS, VEHICLE HAS A STUCK THROTTLE DURING INCLEMENT OR COLD WEATHER WHICH CAUSED AN ACCIDENT**SB DURING A RAINSTORM, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, SUBSEQUENTLY THE MOTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR CAME OFF TRACK, THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF AND THE BACK WINDOW LATCH. THE ACCELERATOR BECAME STUCK AND THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL. THE CONSUMER HIT HER PORCH AND A TREE. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED REGARDING THE STICKING OF THE THROTTLE. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES WOULD GRIND WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED AT THE FAILURE MILEAGE (28,934 MILES) AND AGAIN AT THE CURRENT MILEAGE (52,773).
FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS ON THE 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE ROTORS ARE OVERHEATING WITH NORMAL DRIVING AND HAD TO BE RESURFACED AT 15000 MILES. THE BRAKE PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 23000. THE ROTOR HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 34000. *AK KIA MANAGER TOLD ME THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 KIA SEDONA BRAKE SYSTEM AND SUGGESTED THAT I MAKE A COMPLAINT TO NHTSA.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 55-65 MPH, THE BRAKES PULSE WHENEVER THE CONTACT IS DRIVING DOWNHILL. SHE HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOP FOR THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC REPEATEDLY STATES THAT THE SQUEAKING IS NORMAL AND A PART OF NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE FAILURE IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 17,000 MILES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 17,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.
IN JAN 2006, AFTER ONLY 12,000 MILES ON MY 2005 KIA SEDONA, WE TOOK OUR CAR IN FOR FRONT BRAKE WORK. THE FRONT WHEELS VIBRATED WHEN COMING TO A STOP. THE KIA DEALER RE-TURNED THE ROTORS AND IT FIXED THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY. THE PROBLEM RETURNED BUT WE HAVE IGNORED IT UNTIL NOW (JULY 2007) WHEN AT 40,000 MILES THE KIA DEALER SAYS THIS IS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE, NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM FOR $450. *TR
OWNER OF A KIA SEDONA 2005 WITH PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES SINCE 3,612 MILES, AND OTHER PROBLEMS FROM FIRST DAY OF THE BUY. THERE IS A NOISE WHEN BRAKING, TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR 16 TIMES AND STILL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
STARTING IN NOVEMBER 2006 THE 2005 KIA SEDONA STARTED MAKING A LOUD GROANING NOISE WHEN COMING TO A STOP, USUALLY AT LESS THAN 20 MPH. BY JANUARY 2007 IT STATED HAPPENING ALMOST EVERY STOP. A STRONG VIBRATION COULD BE FELT THROUGH THE PEDAL TOO. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER IN MAY 2007 IN THE HOPES OF IT BEING REPAIRED, AS WE COULD TAKE IT NO MORE. THEY SAID THEY LOOKED AT IT AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I ASKED IF THEY HAD DONE THE TSB # KT20070402401 BY KIA. THEY SAID IF THE MECHANIC FOUND NOTHING , AND THEY DID NOT LOOK AT THE TSB. THE TSB, STATED THAT THE BRAKES SHOULD BE CHANGED IF THE CUSTOMER REPORTED THE PROBLEM WE HAD. THEY DID NOT WANT TO DO IT. WE TOOK THE VAN AND DROVE IT. WITHIN 15 STOPS AND LESS THAN 1 HOUR LATER THE GROAN WAS BACK. I WILL BE TAKING IT BACK TO DEALER, AND MAKING THEM DO THE TSB. MY WIFE AND I REFUSED TO TOW OUR POP UP CAMPER OR DRIVE LONG DISTANCES AS WE WERE AFRAID THE BRAKES WILL FAIL!*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. IN NOVEMBER 2006 THE WHEELS BEGAN TO VIBRATE, AND MADE A LOUD NOISE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP FROM 20 MPH. THE MEHANIC RESURFACED THE ROTORS, AND CLEANED AND READJUSTED THE REAR DRUMS. IN FEBRUARY OF 2007 THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE SAME MECHANIC REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND FRONT ROTORS AND READJUSTED AND CLEANED THE REAR DRUMS AGAIN. ON MARCH 1, 2007, THE NOISE RETURNED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. ON MARCH 7, 2007, THE FAILURE RETURNED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE FRONT ROTORS WERE RESURFACED AND THE REAR DRUM WAS READJUSTED. CURRENTLY, THE FAILURE IS OCCURRING AGAIN AND THE CONTACT IS NOT PLEASED THAT IT HAPPENS VERY TWO MONTHS. THE BRAKES HAVE NOT FAILED AGAIN YET, BUT THE VEHICLE FEELS AS IF IT MAY SHUT OFF. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 47,700 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000. *AK
BOUGHT VAN NEW. AT 9K STARTED VIBRATING. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED ROTORS. AGAIN AT 20K. THEN THEY REPLACED THE REAR DRUMS FOR VIBRATING. THEN THEY TURNED ROTORS AND DRUMS TO CORRECT VIBRATION. MECHANICS AND SERVICE MANAGERS ALL TELL ME IT'S A KNOWN PROBLEM BECAUSE VANS WEIGHT WAS INCREASE TO GET BETTER SAFETY RATING, BUT THEY USED LIGHT WEIGHT BRAKES AND THEY CAN'T HANDLE THE HEAVIER VAN AND OVERHEAT AND WARP. AFTER ALL THIS, THEY TELL ME KNOW THAT THEY WON'T COVER TO FIX ISSUE ANY MORE, SAYING IT ISN'T A SAFETY ISSUE. IF THEY ROTORS/DRUMS AREN'T SUFFICIENT TO STOP VEHICLE CORRECTLY, SEEMS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. NEED TO HAVE THIS INVESTIGATED AND ACTION TAKEN. I HAVE OPENED A CASE W/ KIA CORP. TO REVIEW AND MAKE A DECISION. PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR FURTHER DETAILS OR MORE INFO. THANKS. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE ROTORS HAD TO BE TURNED TWICE AT 14,944 MILES AND 19,076 MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IN DECEMBER 2006 A LARGE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE WAS FELT WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE. THE DEALER STATED THAT BOTH ROTORS WERE CORRODED. ON APRIL 7, 2007, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 25 MPH IN WET AND ICY CONDITIONS, WHILE APPROACHING A TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL HALF A BLOCK IN ADVANCE, AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT DECREASE IN SPEED AND THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY SIGNIFICANT PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. A LOUD THUMP WAS HEARD FROM THE FRONT LEFT TIRE BRAKE WHILE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THAT BOTH FRONT BRAKES WERE GLAZED AND THE ROTORS WERE CORRODED. THE DEALER APPLIED AN ANTI GLAZE CHEMICAL AND TURNED THE ROTORS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,076 ,AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,944. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE DEALER INFORMED HIM THAT KIA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND RESULTS FROM THE FACT THAT THE ROTOR IS UNDER SIZE FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE SEDONA. UPDATED 05/04/07*TR
AT 10,616 MILES I HAD TO HAVE MY BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS FIXED DUE TO SQUEALING; THE DEALERS MECHANIC TURNED THE ROTORS AND REPLACED THE PADS. NOW AT 20934 MILES THE SAME REPAIR HAS TO BE DONE AGAIN. WHEN I QUESTIONED THE MECHANICS ABOUT THIS I WAS TOLD THEY ARE HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE 2005 KIA SEDONA DUE TO THE BRAKES NOT BEING SUFFICIENT FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE VEHICLE. I WAS ALSO TOLD NEVER TO TOW A TRAILER EVEN THOUGH MY VAN IS RATED TO TOW BECAUSE THE BRAKES MAY FAIL. WHEN I CONTACTED KIA COMPLAINTS THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO HELP ME, AND DENIED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES ON THE 2005 SEDONA. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET I HAVE FOUND THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM FOR MANY OTHER 2005 SEDONA OWNERS. THERE IS EVEN A DISCUSSION ABOUT IT ON WWW.EDMUNDS.COM IN THE FORUMS SECTION. I AM PLEADING WITH THE NHTSA TO INTERVENE REGARDING THIS MATTER BEFORE THERE IS A LOSS OF LIFE! *JB
ROTORS WARPED AT 20,000 MILES. WAY TOO SOON FOR THIS KIND OF WEAR. *JB
I OWN AN 05 KIA SEDONA, BOUGHT NEW, HAS HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS FROM THE BEGINNING. THE DEALER, THAT SERVICES - NOT THE ONE I BOUGHT FROM, HAS SERVICED THE VEHICLE FROM THE FIRST, TOLD ME THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS WORKING ON GETTING REPLACEMENT PARTS AND THAT AS SOON AS THEY CAME OUT I WOULD BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO RECEIVE THE PART. NOW, MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND I AM HAVING TO COVER THE COST OF REPLACING THE PARTS EVERY 3-4000 MILES WHEN I GET OIL CHANGES AND THE DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT COVER IT ANY LONGER BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE I HAVE HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES (THAT THE DEALER CANNOT "FIND THE PROBLEM") THEY SAY THAT IF A PROBLEM OCCURS THEY WILL COVER FIXING IT BECAUSE IT'S BEEN ONGOING BUT THAT'S WHAT I WAS TOLD ABOUT THE BRAKE PROBLEM. THE BRAKES ARE SO BAD THAT THE WHOLE VAN SHAKES AND DOESN'T FEEL LIKE THE BRAKES ARE GRABBING OR ARE GOING TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND MY CHILDREN ARE LEARNING TO DRIVE IN THE VAN. *JB
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. WHEN HE ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE IT SHOOK. THIS GENERALLY HAPPENED DURING CLEAR ROAD CONDITIONS, AND WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE ROTORS SHOULD BE REPLACED DUE TO OVERHEATING AND WARPING. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE REASON FOR THE OVERHEATING AND WARPING. THE BRAKES, ROTORS, BRAKE PADS AND BRAKE SHOES HAVE BEEN REPLACED FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS APPROXIMATELY EVERY 3 MONTHS. THE VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS 30,000 MILES. *AK UPDATE 4/25/07*TR
I OWN A 2005 KIA SODONA VAN, I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH IT "HESITATING" AND "CUTTING OFF' WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. *JB
FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE PURCHASE IN OCTOBER, 05, I HAVE HAD PULSATING BRAKES THAT DON'T WANT TO STOP ON CONTACT. THE LOCAL DEALER INFORMED ME THERE WAS A PART COMING OUT TO REPLACE/REPAIR AND AS SOON AS IT WAS OUT, I WOULD BE ONE OF THE FIRST TO GET MY VEHICLE FIXED. EVERY 3-4 000 MILES AT OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION, I HAVE HAD WORK DONE ON MY BRAKES AND KIA HAS COVERED THE COST. EVERY TIME I GO IN AND COMPLAIN, THEY FIX THE PROBLEM AND TELL ME IT'S STILL IN "PROCESS". WHEN MY VEHICLE ROLLED OVER 60,000 MILES, THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AND NOW KIA IS TELLING ME THEY WILL NO LONGER COVER THE COST TO REPAIR THIS ONGOING MANUFACTURE PROBLEM. *JB

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS WARPED ROTORS. THE ROTORS WERE RESURFACED, BUT THE NOISE RETURNED AT 12,782 MILES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT 25,000 THE PROBLEM RETURNED AND THE ROTORS WERE RESURFACED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT THAT WAS MAKING THE ROTORS WEAR OUT PREMATURELY. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 35000.*AK CONSUMER STATES WHEELS TORQUE 100 FT LTRS WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT 40 MPH. THE CONSUMER STATES THAT SERVICE DEPT. NEW VAN PURCHASED WITH 3 MILES ON IT BACK TO DEALER ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO DEAL WITH BRAKE ISSUES, SHUTTERING AND "MOANING" SOUND. FIRST TIME ROTORS CUT AND BRAKES "CLEANED" (APPROX 5500 MILES). SECOND TIME COULD NOT REPLICATE THE MOANING SOUND (11300 MILES). THIRD TIME REPLICATED MOANING SOUND COMING FROM REAR DRUMS, DEALER RESURFACED DRUMS (APPROX 11600 MILES). EVERYTHING SO FAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO NO COST WAS INCURRED UP TO THIS POINT. REPLACED ROTORS AND FRONT PADS DUE TO REGULAR MAINTENANCE 5 MONTHS AGO (APPROX 23000 MILES). EVERYTHING FINE UNTIL 30000 MILE SERVICE WHERE BRAKES ARE ADJUSTED (REAR) AND EXTREME SHUTTERING OCCURS FROM REAR (PERHAPS MASKED BY NOT HAVING PROPERLY ADJUSTED REAR BRAKES). APPEARS TO BE DRUMS THAT ARE OUT OF ROUND. WILL PAY $125 EACH DRUM AND APPLY MYSELF AS THEY ARE CLEARLY OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT IT SEEMS THAT THERE IS SOME INHERENT PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES ON THIS VAN. 3500 LBS AND TOO SMALL OF A BRAKING SYSTEM. THIS IS MY SECOND NEW KIA SEDONA AND 3RD NEW KIA VEHICLE IN THREE YEARS. LOVE THE BRAND - WISH THEY'D FIX THE BRAKE ISSUE....THIS IS GOING TO GET EXPENSIVE NOW THAT IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. SEEMS LIKE THE MAJORITY OF COMPLAINTS ARE FOR THE BRAKES. *JB
TL* - THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. THERE WAS A PULSING, BRAKING, PULLING MOTION AS IF THE VEHICLE WANTED TO GO IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTION WHEN THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE BRAKE. TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING HIS 2005 KIA SEDONA WITH A FAILURE MILEAGE OF 23000, AT 40 MPH ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED IN FRONT OF HIM AND HIS HORN FAILED. 2005 KIA SEDONA LX PURCHASED NEW FROM DEALER ON 3-10-05. ON 3/24/05, TOOK VAN IN FOR INITIAL OIL CHANGE AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK BRAKES AS WELL BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE NOISE, GRINDING, AND A PULSATING WHEN USING BRAKES. MILEAGE WAS 2890. WHEN TECHNICIAN CHECKED BRAKES, THE ROTORS WERE FOUND TO BE WARPED, SO THEY WERE RESURFACED. ON 9/17/05, TOOK VAN BACK IN FOR GRINDING NOISES AS WELL AS TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE. MILEAGE WAS 7781. 2005 KIA SEDONA BOUGHT VAN BRAND NEW 9/11/2004 ON 10/3/05 TOOK VAN IN FOR SERVICE AND CHECK UP VIBRATION IN FRONT END WHEN APPLYING BRAKES, WAS TOLD BY DEALERSHIP ROTORS NEEDED TO REPLACED AND WORK WAS COMPLETED, MILEAGE AT TIME 11,706. IN MARCH OF 06 TOOK VAN IN FOR SERVICE AND HAD SAME COMPLAINT OF VIBRATION IN FRONT END WHEN APPLYING BRAKES, WAS TOLD IT WOULD NEED THE REAR BRAKES CLEANED AND ADJUSTED NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY MILEAGE APPROX. 15, 000 MILES. FRONT END STILL VIBRATED WHEN APPLYING BRAKES TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR 20,000 MILE CHECK AND SERVICE AND DEALER ADVISES ROTORS AND BRAKES ARE WORN OUT MILEAGE IS 20,398. DEALER WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY, TALKED TO KIA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ADVISED FOR DISCUSSION WITH FIELD REP, HE ADVISED CUSTOMER SERVICE HE WILL NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY. AT THIS TIME I WILL NOT LET KIA DEALERSHIP REPAIR BRAKE PROBLEM, I HAVE ORDERED HIGH PERFORMANCE BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS TO REPLACE OEM EQUIPMENT. TALKED WITH OTHER CONSUMERS WHO OWN SAME YEAR AND MODEL OF VAN THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. *JB
PURCHASED VEHICLE IN 5/2005. RETURNED TO DEALER IN AUGUST AT 3500 MILES, FOR BRAKE NOISE. WAS TOLD THE ROTORS WERE WARPED FROM SITTING ON THE LOT BEFORE THE SALE OF THE VEHICLE. ROTORS WERE TURNED. NOISE STOPPED FOR A MONTH OR SO. DEALER WENT OUT OF BUSINESS, WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER BECAUSE OF LOUD NOISE FROM BRAKES, SOUNDED LIKE A LARGE TRUCK WHEN STOPPING. INITIALLY WAS TOLD THE MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, BUT AFTER TEST DRIVING IT, THEY REPLACED PADS. NOISE STOPPED BRIEFLY, BUT THEN THE VEHICLE WAS OVER THE 12K WARRANTY FOR THE BRAKES. I'VE HAD THE CAR AT MY MECHANICS SHOP TWICE. HE SAID THE REAR BRAKES ARE VERY LARGE FOR THIS CAR, AND FRONT BRAKES ARE TINY WITH CHEAP SHOES. BRAKES MAKE NOISE ALL THE TIME, AND THE CAR SHUTTERS WHEN STOPPING AT HIGH SPEEDS OR GOING DOWNHILL. PROBLEM STILL NOT RESOLVED. *JB
BRAKE NOISE AT DIFFERENT STOPPING SPEEDS,VIBRATION AND WOBBLE (THIS IS A NEW REPLACEMENT VEHICLE) EXACT PROBLEM ON THE FIRST VEHICLE. ONE DEALER REFUSED TO WORK ON BRAKE PROBLEM AT 5000 MILES. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE ROTORS WERE WARPED BECAUSE THE REAR BRAKES WERE NOT ADJUSTED CORRECTLY CAUSING THE ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS TO BE DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN LOOKED AT FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES AND THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THE BRAKES WERE MANUFACTURED INCORRECTLY.
BREAKS AND ROTORS CHANGED 5 TIMES. ABS SYSTEM REPLACED. MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED. EMERGENCY BREAK DOESN'T WORK EITHER. KIA STILL DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IS WEARING MY BREAKS AND ROTORS IN ABOUT EVERY 10 DAYS. BOUGHT THE VAN WITH 18 MILES ON IT AND THIS ALL STARTED AT 2700 MILES. VAN IS GOING BACK IN TOMORROW. RENTED TWO OTHER KIA SEDONAS 2005 AND BOTH HAD BREAK PROBLEMS. *NM
2005 KIA SEDONA, WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED VEHICLE, ONLY ABOUT 3 WEEKS OLD, I WENT OUTSIDE TO START IT AND SMOKE CAME POURING OUT OF STEERING WHEEL AREA, SO MUCH SO THAT I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CALLING 911 AFTER GETTING MY YOUNG CHILD OUT OF HER CAR SEAT AND OUT OF VAN, THE SMOKE WAS SIGNIFICANT AND JUST STOPPED AS QUICKLY AS IT STARTED, I TOOK THE VAN IN AND THEY ACTED LIKE I WAS CRAZY AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG, THEN LAST WEEK WITH ONLY 30,000 MILES ON THE VAN, I PULLED INTO THE STORE PARKING SPACE AND CAME OUT AND THE STEERING COLUMN AND WHEELS AND IGNITION WERE COMPLETELY LOCKED AND FROZEN, THE VAN HAD TO BE TOWED IN TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE NO ONE COULD GET THE STEERING COLUMN OR IGNITION TO UNLOCK, THEY TOLD US IT WAS A CABLE THAT WAS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT, I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A CABLE BEING ABLE TO RENDER A CAR COMPLETELY INOPERABLE AT 30,000 MILES, WHAT IS IT WENT OUT OF ADJUSTMENT WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY!!!! I STRONGLY FEEL THERE IS SOMETHING FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG WITH THE STEERING COLUMN AND CONNECTED SYSTEMS IN THE STEERING COLUMN AND THEY ARE NOT TELLING US THE TRUTH WHEN WE TAKE IT IN FOR REPAIR. *NM
JULY 2006 I NOTICED A SMELL OF BURNING BRAKES OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. BUT AFTER I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF FOR AN HOUR THE SMELL DISAPPEARED. THEN ON JULY 4TH 2006 WE WERE 10 MILES FROM HOME AND NOTICED THE RADIO TURNED OFF, THEN A FEW MORE MILES THE GAUGES ALL TURNED OFF, THEN BY THE TIME WE GOT OFF THE FREEWAY, THE CAR TURNED OFF. WE THEN TURNED IT BACK ON, THE RADIO AND GAUGES ALL WORKED UNTIL WE DROVE TO THE DEALER WHICH WAS CLOSED SO WE DROVE ONE MORE MILE TO A SAFE PLACE TO PARK. AT THIS TIME THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. WE LOOKED IN THE ENGINE, THE FUSE BOX WAS SMOKING AND WHEN OPENED, ALL THE FUSES WERE MELTED DOWN AND ALL THE WIRES WERE MELTED TOO. WE THEN GOT IT TOWED TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY 7/5/06. THE CAR HAS NOW BEEN AT THE DEALER FOR OVER A WEEK AND HALF, AND WILL NOT BE READY UNTIL NEXT WEEK. I AM HOPING THE NEW WIRING THEY PUT IN DOESN'T BURN AGAIN. THIS IS THE SECOND MAJOR TROUBLE WITH THIS NEW CAR UNDER 9000 MILES. THE FIRST TROUBLE WAS ONE WEEK AFTER BUYING THE NEW CAR WITH 3 MILES ON IT. DROVE INTO MY DRIVEWAY AT HOME ON A STEEP HILL TO FIND I HAD NO BRAKES. THE TROUBLE WAS A KINKED BRAKE LINE THAT BROKE ... VERY SCARY. *JB
2005 SEDONA BRAKES SQUEAK WHEN APPLIED. *TS THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THE ROTORS WERE GLAZED. BOTH FRONT ROTORS WERE RESURFACED. ONE WEEK LATER THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE BRAKES CONTINUED TO MAKE NOISE. THIS TIME THE DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT ROTORS. THE NOISE CONTINUED AND THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THAT BRAKE NOISE WAS NORMAL. NM
THE DAY I PURCHASED MY 2005 KIA SEDONA THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING. THAT WAS REPLACED, THEN THE LIGHTER WENT. AGAIN THE RADIO AND THEN WITHIN THE FIRST THREE WEEKS THE BRAKES AND FRONT END WHICH HAS BEEN THE ONGOING PROBLEMS AND CONCERN TO DATE. WITH NUMEROUS TRIPS UP UNTIL 9/05 AND MY TAKING IT TO YET ANOTHER DEALER 9/05-1/06 LEADING TO IT BLOWING OUT A TIRE AND NOW THEM TELLING ME ALL ALONG OF COURSE THAT NOTHING IS OUTSIDE OF "NORMAL" OR THEIR FAULT ETC. HOWEVER BUYING THIS VEHICLE NEW AND IT SOUNDING AND LIKE SOMETHING I'VE NEVER HEARD BEFORE (AND I'VE DRIVEN FOR 20 YEARS MANY TYPES OF CARS NEW AND VERY OLD!) LET ALONE THE WAY IT SHAKES.. YET THEY ALWAYS LED ME TO BELIEVE I WAS NUTS. THEY DID REPLACED THE ROTORS FINALLY ONLY AFTER I TOOK IT TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO DOCUMENTED IT NEEDED IT AND I TOOK IT BACK WITH THE PAPER WORK AND THAT WASN'T UNTIL AUGUST (I BOUGHT IT IN MAY) AND THEY'D BLOWN ME OFF FOR TWO MONTHS. I'VE CALLED KIA MAIN OFFICE WHO ALSO IS MAKING IT NOT THEIR PROBLEM IT'S A "NORMAL" WEAR ISSUE. THERE IS NO CAR THAT SOUNDS AND FEELS LIKE THIS UPON BRAKING. READING YOUR SITE AT LEAST I KNOW I'M NOT ALONE FINALLY WHICH IS WHAT *THEY* WANT YOU TO THINK! *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERS WHERE THEY DETERMINED THE CYLINOID VALVE WAS STUCK IN THE CLOSED POSITION. THE CYLINOID WAS REPAIRED AND THE NEXT DAY THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AGAIN. WHEN THE DEALERS ALERT, THEY ADVISED THE VEHICLE TO BE TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO SHOP. THE INDEPENDENT AUTO SHOP ALSO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE CYLINOID VALVE WAS BEING STUCK IN THE CLOSED POSITION. WHEN THE CONTACT RETURNED TO DEALERS, THE DEALERS YELLED DIRECTING THE CONTACT TO GET OFF OF THE PROPERTY. NO FURTHER SERVICE WAS PROVIDED TO VEHICLE.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED A MONTH AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED, A ROARING SOUND WAS HEARD EVERYTIME THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER 4 TIMES AFTER THIS INCIDENT. THE DEALER DETERMINED THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT OF BRAKE FAILURE. THERE ARE ALSO PROBLEMS WITH ADJUSTING THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BACKWARDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER IN APRIL 2006 WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER ALSO LOCATED RECALLS FOR DRIVER SIDE SEATS BUT THE VIN NUMBER OF THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
GASOLINE LEAKING UNDER GAS TANK OF VEHICLE. WAS TOLD BY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO FIRST CALL FIRE DEPT. DID THAT. THEN HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER. SAID THEY REPLACED A FITTING THAT WAS CAUSING THE LEAK. DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. DAY LATER AFTER SITTING IN THE DRIVE WAY THE WHOLE TIME GAS WAS LEAKING AGAIN. VEHICLE IS NOW BEING TOWED BACK IN TO THE DEALER AGAIN. *JB
I AM WRITING TO ALERT YOU TO A DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH THE SPRINGS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RECLINING MECHANISM OF THE SEATS IN THE 2005 SEDONA. WE HAVE AN LX MODEL WITH THE CAPTAINS CHAIRS. I HAD NOTED PREVIOUSLY THAT THE SEATS WOULD SPRING FORWARD QUITE RAPIDLY WHEN THERE WAS NOT A PERSON IN THE SEAT AND THE HANDLE IS PULLED. THE SEAT BACKS ARE QUITE HEAVY AND FLING FORWARD WITH SOME FORCE. THIS FORCE WAS READILY APPARENT THIS PAST THURSDAY (5/11/06). OUR SIX-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS SITTING IN THE CHAIR IN A RECLINED POSITION. SHE STOOD UP AND FACED THE SEAT IN ORDER TO RAISE THE SEAT TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION. WHEN SHE PULLED THE HANDLE, THE SEAT FLUNG FORWARD AND HIT HER IN THE HEAD. SHE SUSTAINED A CUT TO HER RIGHT FOREHEAD THAT REQUIRED A VISIT TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND THREE STITCHES. SHE ALSO SUSTAINED A BRUISE TO HER UPPER EYELID. LUCKILY, THE SEAT DID NOT HIT HER EYE DIRECTLY. *NM
I BOUGHT MY 2005 KIA SEDONA IN SEPTEMBER 2005. IN THE MONTH OF APRIL I NOTICED MY HUB CAPS WERE PEELING. WHEN I CONTACTED MY KIA DEALER HE INFORMED ME THAT IT WAS NOT A DEFECT BUT INSTEAD THEY WHEELS MUST HAVE BEEN CLEANED WITH AN ACID BASE CLEANER. I TOLD HIM I HAD ALREADY CONTACTED MY CAR DETAILER AND THEY SAID THEY DO NOT USE ANY CLEANER LIKE THAT BECAUSE THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE FACT THIS CAN HAPPEN. WHEN I RELAYED THIS TO THE SERVICE MANGER AT THE DEALERSHIP HE SAID THEY MUST BE WRONG. BUT IN ANY CASE HE WOULD REPLACE ONLY THE ONES THAT WERE PEELING AND WOULD ONLY DO IT THIS ONE TIME. FROM NOW ON I WOULD HAVE TO PURCHASE THEM. HE ALSO SAID HE HAD OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND HE ONLY REPLACED THEIRS ONCE AND SOME HAVE PAID TO HAVE THEM REPLACED UP TO FOUR TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. BUT AGAIN HE SAID IT'S NOT KIA'S PROBLEM. I THINK HE NEEDS TO RETHINK THIS AND KIA DOES TO. THEY USE CHEAP PLASTIC HUB CAPS AND NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. *NM
BRAND NEW VAN FROM THE START BRAKES WOULD SHAKE REALLY BAD. CALLED THEM, THEY OF COURSE TRIED TO BLAME ON SOMETHING ELSE, NOT WARRANTY, SO I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC I HAVE USED FOR 20 YEARS, THEY SAID TAKE IT BACK, GET NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS. TALKED THEM INTO IT WITH A LOT OF DOING. NOT LONG AFTER THAT I WAS GOING DOWN A HILL AND WHEN APPLIED BRAKES VAN SOUNDED LIKE A TRAIN STOPPING, I EVEN HAD THE GIRL FROM KIA SERVICE DEPT. ON THE PHONE WHEN IT HAPPENED THE SECOND TIME AND SHE HEARD IT THROUGH THE CELL PHONE, WELL, OF COURSE THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING AND WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING. IT DOESN'T DO IT ALL THE TIME, MAYBE 3-4 TIMES A MONTH. BUT IT HAS STARTED SHAKING AGAIN, AND STILL SOUNDS LIKE A TRAIN. WHAT TO DO, WHAT TO DO! *NM
I BOUGHT A NEW KIA SEDONA ON 2-27-06 HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIO. THE FIRST TIME I HAD IT IN TO BE CHECKED, THEY WERE GOING TO PUT IN A NEW RADIO BUT IT WAS DAMAGED IN SHIPPING. THEY ORDERED ONE PUT IT IN ON THE 10TH OF MARCH 06, THAT NIGHT THE VAN STARTED CAUGHT FIRE AND WAS TOTALED. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE, AT ANY SPEED, THE VEHICLE VIBRATES AND MAKES A LOUD NOISE. THE DEALER MADE NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS AT ISOLATING THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE REAR BRAKE DRUMS, ROTORS, AND PADS. THE REPAIRS HAVE NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. UPDATED 03/28/06
11/9/05 CHECK BRAKES. *AK
WARPED ROTORS UNDER NORMAL DRIVING, NOISE AND VIBRATION, REPLACED ROTORS WITH SAME TYPE OF ROTORS. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 2000 MILES WARPED ROTORS AGAIN. CAN NOT GET ANY HELP FROM KIA DEALER OR KIA REPS. *JB
1) VEHICLE SHUTTERS AND MAKES ROARING NOISE WHEN BRAKING DOWN HILL. BRAKES OVERHEAT AND SLIDE AND DO NOT STOP WELL. VEHICLE SHUTTERS WHEN BRAKING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS BUT MORE SO GOING DOWN HILL. 2) TIRES NEED BALANCE AND ROTATING EVERY 2000 MILES AND ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS NEED REPLACING EVERY 2000-4000 MILES. THE BACK SHOES ARE GLAZED OVER 3) FIRST TIME ROTORS AND PADS WERE REPLACED AND BACK SHOES UNGLAZED. SECOND TIME ROTORS TURNED AND THE BRAKE PADS WERE NOT REMOVED AND BACK SHOES UNGLAZED. THIRD TIME ROTORS AND PADS ARE GOING TO BE REMOVED AND BACK SHOES UNGLAZED. THIS VEHICLE HAS 7000 MILES ON IT AND THE DISTRICT MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP AGREES THIS IS EXCESSIVE AND HE DID NOT MAKE ME FEEL CONFIDENT THAT IT CAN BE FIXED. THEY ARE CLAIMING THIS YEAR AND MODEL HAD BRAKE ISSUES. ON THE FOURTH TIME I WILL SUE FOR LEMON LAW. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF WRITING A LETTER TO THE MANUFACTURER. I HAVE CONTACTED THE CORPORATE OFFICE. *JB
AROUND 4500 MILES HAD VIBRATION WHEN BRAKING. DEALER SAID THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY WARPED ROTORS. THEY WERE REPLACED. NOT TWO MONTHS LATER I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. HAD TO PAY FOR ROTORS TO BE MACHINED. SAME WEEK, ROTORS HAD TO BE MACHINED AGAIN. ONE MONTH LATER SAME PROBLEM. HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THE PADS. *JB
A REGULAR MAINTENANCE AT THE DEALERSHIP CAUSED A DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE'S BRAKES, A TIRE ROTATION DEFECT AND A STEERING PROBLEM(VEHICLE KEEPS ON PULLING TO THE RIGHT AND BRAKE PEDAL TOO SOFT AND ALMOST TOUCHES THE FLOOR WHEN USED-BRAKE INEFFECTIVE). THE DEALER DID NOT SHOW ANY SIGNS OF CONCERN ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE DESPITE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE. NO CHOICE BUT TO CONTACT COMPANY'S HEADQUARTERS. *JB
I BOUGHT MY VERY FIRST NEW VEHICLE IN SEPT 2005, AND HAD MY FIRST AUTO ACCIDENT LESS THAN SIX WEEKS LATER. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ON FRIDAY, OCT 28, 2005. I CAME UPON A VEHICLE STOPPED IN MY LANE. I PUT THE BRAKES ON, AND LEFT A SMALL SKID MARK. I HAD PLENTY OF ROOM TO STOP MY VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO. ONCE I PRESSED THE BRAKES, I REALIZED I WASN'T SLOWING DOWN AND PRESSED HARDER ON THEM. THERE WAS SOME JERKING AND IT FELT LIKE I WAS HOPPING UP THE ROAD. MY VEHICLE NEVER SLOWED DOWN AT ALL. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I CRASHED INTO THE REAR END OF THE STOPPED CAR. IT CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO MY FRONT END, AND DAMAGE TO THE BACK OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. ALSO, MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE BODY SHOP WAITING TO BE LOOKED AT, BUT THEY ARE ESTIMATING THE COST AT $8,000 OR MORE IN DAMAGE. I REALLY FEEL ANGRY ABOUT THIS BECAUSE I AM A CAUTIOUS DRIVER, AND I FEEL THIS ACCIDENT WAS NOT MY FAULT. I FEEL THE BRAKES ON MY VAN DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. *NM
DT: THE CONTACT STATED CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. AFTER A WHILE IT RESTARTED. CONTACTED DEALERSHIP, THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT TO BRING THE CAR IN. ON THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP THE VEHICLE STALLED NINE TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP ADJUSTED THE IDLING AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. LESS THAN A WEEK LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN, AND THE CAR DID NOT STALL. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP; THEY SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE SENSOR. THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE UNTIL THE NEXT WEEK. THE DEALERSHIP ASSURED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STALL UNTIL IT COULD BE REPAIRED. THE CAR STALLED AGAIN WHILE TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP WAS ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. A FEW DAYS LATER, WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE SOUNDED AS IF IT WAS REVVING. CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN, TOOK THE CAR IN THE SAME DAY,. THIS TIME THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THIS PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR STALLED SEVEN MORE TIMES.*AK
DT: THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER CONCERNING THE THROTTLE CABLE, AND BECAUSE HE IS IN ANOTHER COUNTRY SERVING IN THE MILITARY, THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL. MANUFACTURER SAID HE HAS TO BUY THE PART. *AK
DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHEN BRAKE WERE APPLIED THE VEHICLE SHOOK IN FRONT. REPLACED THE PADS AND ROTORS TWICE WITHIN A WEEK. THE ROTORS WERE WARPED, AND NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. DEALER SAID THEY WERE GOING TO CALL A REPRESENTATIVE TO HANDLE THE CASE. MANUFACTURER SAID THIS IS NOT A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. *AK
DT: THE CONTACT STATES SHAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH BRAKES SINCE APRIL OR MAY 2005. THE BRAKES WERE SQUEAKING AND THE ROTORS WERE WARPED. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD THE CONTACT THAT THE ROTORS WERE WARPED FROM THE BOAT WHERE THE CAR HAD BEEN SHIPPED. THEY REPLACED THE ROTORS. ALSO, THEY REPLACED THE BRAKES AND THE PADS. IN ADDITION, FILED SOME KIND OF CLIPS AND DUSTED THE PADS. SHE HAS HAD THE BRAKES WORKED ON OR REPAIRED A TOTAL OF FIVE-SIX TIMES SINCE APRIL. RIGHT NOW THE BRAKES WERE JERKING BADLY WHEN SHE STOPPED. THE RUBBER PIECE THAT GOES AROUND THE WINDOW TO SEAL THE WINDOW WAS BAD. THE PIECE WOULD ROLL UP EITHER ON THE OUTSIDE OR THE INSIDE OF THE WINDOW. . THEY ORDERED A DIFFERENT PIECE THREE TIMES AND STILL HAVE NOT HAD IT FIXED.*AK
I RECEIVED A FACTORY SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL TODAY CONCERNING MY 2005 KIA SEDONA MINIVAN. I PURCHASED IT IN FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA WHILE STATIONED AT EGLIN AFB, FL. I RECEIVED MILITARY ORDERS TO MOVE TO MINOT AFB, NORTH DAKOTA AND FOUND THAT THERE ISN'T A KIA DEALER WITHIN 286 MILES OR 5 1/2 HOURS. THERE IS AN AUTHORIZED KIA SERVICE LOCATION IN MINOT, ND AT DON BESSETTE MOTORS BUT CAN ONLY USE THEM FOR EMERGENCY FACTORY SERVICE. THE FACTORY RECALL CONDITION STATES THAT IN FREEZING CONDITIONS, WHICH NORTH DAKOTA FALLS INTO THAT CATEGORY, CAN CAUSE THE THROTTLE CABLE TO FREEZE DURING NORMAL OPERATION ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO MAINTAIN OR ACCELERATE SPEEDS WITHOUT WARNING AND MAY CAUSE A CRASH. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE KIA MOTOR COMPANY TO EITHER AUTHORIZE ME TO HAVE MY CAR WORKED ON HERE IN MINOT OR HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST KIA DEALER AT THEIR EXPENSE AND HAVE IT FIXED. I WORK IN TRANSPORTATION FOR THE MILITARY AND HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH RESISTANCE FROM A CAR COMPANY TO FIX A MISTAKE ON ONE OF THEIR OWN CARS. THANK YOU. *JB
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2004 KIA SEDONA. APPROXIMATLEY THREE MONTHS AGO, WE RECEIVED NOTICE OF A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. IT WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN IN TO HAVE THE REPAIRS MADE - OR SO WE THOUGHT. WHEN WE RETURNED TO GET THE VEHICLE WE WERE TOLD THAT IT NEEDED REPAIR, BUT THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT PROVIDE THE DEALER - BILL JACOBS - JOLIET, IL - WITH THE PARTS NECESSARY FOR THE REPAIR. AS OF TODAY'S DATE 9-7-05 THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I HAVE MADE COMPLAINTS TO KIA, NUMEROUS CALLS TO THE DEALER AND EACH TIME WE ARE TOLD THE PARTS ARE EXPECTED ON A BOAT THE NEXT DAY AND AMAZINGLY THEY NEVER ARRIVE. *JB
DT: AFTER THE OWNER PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON JULY 2 2005, SHE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER ON JULY 9 2005. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS 05V329000. IT WAS ABOUT THE THROTTLE CABLE STICKING. THE OWNER WAS UPSET BECAUSE AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT MAKE HER AWARE OF ANY RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE OWNER BELIEVES THAT IF A CAR HAS A SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM, THE CAR SHOULD NOT BE SOLD UNTIL REPAIRED. THIS SHOULD BE A LAW. CARS SHOULD NOT BE SOLD WHEN THEY HAVE OUTSTANDING RECALLS. THE OWNER IS CONCERNED THAT SOME PEOPLE AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, WOULD NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THESE RECALL LETTERS THAT ARRIVE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE AND THEY COULD END UP IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE REPAIRED BEFORE THE CAR IS SOLD. *JB
DT: THE CONSUMER OWNS A 2005 KIA SEDONA. SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 6-20-05, AND TWENTY MINUTES AFTER SHE DROVE THE CAR OFF THE LOT, THE RADIO QUIT WORKING ALONG WITH THE IGNITION LIGHT ILLUMINATING. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY COULD NOT SERVICE THE CAR THAT DAY BUT MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME BACK ON 6-22-05. THE DEALERSHIP KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR THREE DAYS. ON 7-26-05 THE BRAKE WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND MADE A LOUD TICKING NOISE WHILE TURNING. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS, AND THEY RESURFACED THE BRAKES AND THE IGNITION. ON 7-31-05 THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CONSUMER TRIED TO PUMP THE BRAKES AND THEY WOULD NOT CATCH. TO KEEP FROM HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT, SHE VEERED TO THE LEFT AND RAN ONTO THE MEDIAN, CAUSING TWO BLOW OUTS ON THE DRIVER'S FRONT AND REAR. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AAA, AND THEY REPLACED ONE OF THE TIRES AND PLACED THE SPARE ON THE VEHICLE. THERE WHERE NO INJURIES IN THIS ACCIDENT. ALSO, ONE OF THE TIRES IN THE ACCIDENT LOOKED AS IF SOMEONE HAD TAKEN A KNIFE AND CUT THE TIRE. THE CUT WAS SO CLEAN THAT THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO REPAIR THE TIRE OR THE RIM. THE CONSUMER HAD TO BUY A NEW TIRE AND RIM. ON 8-18-05 THE VAN WAS TAKEN BACK TO KIA,. THE CONSUMER WAS GIVEN A RENTAL CAR. THE CONSUMER HAD GOTTEN THE VEHICLE BACK ON AUGUST 28, 2005. ON 8-19-05 THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER CONCERNING THE GAS PEDAL AND BRAKING PROBLEMS. *AK (11/30/05) THE EMISSION LIGHT HAD COME ON AND SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS A LOUD TICKING SOUND HEARD WHEN TURNING THE STEERING AND A COIL WAS REPAIRED AS A RESULT, THE GREASE SEAL LEAKED AND THERE WAS A HESITATION WHEN THE VEHICLE KICKED INTO GEAR. *SC
ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, MY NEW 2005 KIA SEDONA, WITH 4300 MILES ON IT, HAS SHUT DOWN WHILE TRAVELING THE 1ST TIME AT AROUND 40 MPH, AND THE LATEST TIME TRAVELING DOWN I10 OUTSIDE OF TUCSON, AZ WITH 3 KIDS AND 2 OTHER ADULT PASSENGERS, TRAVELING AT ABOUT 65 MPH. WE PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRIED TO RESTART CAR. AFTER 5-10 MINUTES, THE CAR RESTARTED, WAS PUT IN DRIVE, AND MOVED A FEW FEET BEFORE SHUTTING DOWN AGAIN. THIS TIME IT DIDN'T RESTART AND WE TRIED TO CALL THE 800 TOW NUMBER THAT KIA GAVE US. WE COULDN'T GET THROUGH TO ANYONE, SO THE AZ HIGHWAY PATROL GOT A TOW TRUCK THERE IN 5 MINUTES. NOT ONLY ARE WE OUT 300.00 FOR THE COST OF THE TOW, BUT IT HAS BEEN SITTING AT THE DEALERSHIP SINCE 08/22/2005. THEY SAID THAT THEY WON'T GIVE US A RENTAL CAR SO WE HAD TO RENT ONE OURSELVES AT THE DEALERSHIP. I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER JOHN ON THE SATURDAY FOLLOWING AND HE SAID HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE DIAGNOSIS WAS AND THERE WAS NOBODY IN SERVICE ON SATURDAY, BUT HE WOULD CALL ME ON MONDAY MORNING(TODAY) AND HAVE SOMEONE "ON IT" FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. I RECEIVED NO CALL. I CALLED AROUND 5:00 PM TO FIND IT WAS JOHN'S DAY OFF AND HE WOULD BE RETURNING TUESDAY MORNING. I WAS THEN TRANSFERRED TO A "SERVICE TECH" WHO PULLED UP ON HIS COMPUTER THE DIAGNOSTIC OF MY CAR. HE SAID THAT THEY HAD OR IS SUPPOSED TO ORDER A NEW REAR ENGINE MOUNT. HE SAID THAT HE DIDN'T KNOW HOW LONG THE PART WOULD BE BECAUSE IT LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD TO GET IT FROM JAPAN(HQ), AND ALSO DIDN'T KNOW HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE TO INSTALL OR WHY THAT WOULD BE MAKING THE CAR SHUT DOWN. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE WHOLE SITUATION, AND DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING A CAR THAT NEEDS TO HAVE A PART REPLACED AFTER 4000 MILES, THAT KEEPS THE ENGINE FROM FALLING OFF THE FRAME OF MY CAR, ESPECIALLY WITH INFANTS IN MY CAR. PLEASE ADVISE ME ON MY RIGHTS(IF ANY), AND CONTACT ME ASAP AT THE PHONE NUMBER PROVIDED. THANKS FOR ANY HELP AND CONCERN. *JB
DT: CALLER SAID AT 4950 MILES VEHICLE STARTED WOBBLING. THIS HAPPENED WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN. WHEN HE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID THE ROTORS WERE WARPED, AND HAD THEM REPLACED. DT: 2005 KIA SEDONA. THE CAR WAS BOUGHT IN MAY, AND IT STALLED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FIST TIME VEHICLE STALLED WAS IN JULY. CONSUMER'S HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND WHEN APPROACHING A LIGHT THE CAR STALLED. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. SECOND TIME THAT VEHICLE STALLED WAS WHILE DRIVING ON I95 AND SLOWING DOWN 20 -25 MPH. AGAIN,NO INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AT THIS TIME. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. A THIRD TIME THE CAR STALLED, BUT IT WAS RESTARTED IMMEDIATELY. CRANKED THE CAR AND IT ONLY STAYED FOR JUST A FEW SECONDS. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST TWICE. . THE CONSUMER MADE IT TO A GAS STATION AND PUT MORE GAS INTO THE GAS TANK WHICH SHOWED A LITTLE OVER TANK. STARTED BACK UP AND DROVE HOME. THE FORTH TIME, WHILE DRIVING ON A HILL HIT THE GAS PEDAL AND THERE WAS A DECREASE IN ACCELERATION AND VEHICLE STALLED. THE CAR HAD AT LEAST TANK OF GAS. NO INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON PRIOR TO THE CAR STALLING. *AK

DT: THE CONSUMER MADE A COMPLAINT ON JUNE 30TH, 2005 FOR HIS KIA. HE RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE PROBLEM, KIA HAS HAD THE VEHICLE FOR OVER WEEKS. BEFORE THE CONSUMER TOOK IT THERE THEY ASSURED HIM THEY HAD THE PART IN STOCK. HE CONTACTED THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER, AND THE MANUFACTURER. AMY REPRESENTING THE MANUFACTURER SAID THEY WERE SETTING THE PART ASIDE WITH HIS NAME ON IT AND THAT WAS 10 DAYS AGO. THE DEALER STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE PART. DT: ON JUNE 13, 2005 CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL 05V232000, AND THE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. AT THAT POINT HE WAS WAITING ON THE PARTS TO COME IN. ON JUNE 20,2005 AMY AT KIA IN CARTERSVILLE CALLED THE CONSUMER AND INFORMED HIM THAT THE PARTS WERE IN AND THEY WERE RESERVED IN HIS NAME. ON JUNE 29,2005 HE CALLED TO ARRANGE FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE TAKEN IN AND HAVE THE RECALL WORK DONE. WHEN HE ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WERE NO PARTS. HE THEN CALLED ALVINA AT CONSUMER AFFAIRS AT KIA AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULD NOT GET THE PARTS. THE NUMBER FOR KIA: 800-333-4542 EXTENSION 45935, THAT IS THE MANAGER FOR CONSUMER AFFAIRS, ALVINA.*AK
TOOK MY 2005 KIA SEDONA VAN IN FOR THE 7 TIME SINCE 12/2004 TO HAVE BRAKES REPLACED. SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE TECHS AND THEY SAY THAT KIA SEEMS TO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT BRAKING SYSTEM ON THIS VEHICLE, AND IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTOR TELLS THE SERVICE DEPT. TO JUST KEEP REPLACING THEM. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS REPLACED THE BRAKING SYSTEM MANY TIMES, BUT THE KIA MOTORS REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM.
DRIVING OUT OF SPOT AT PARKING LOT MY WIFE HAD THE STEERING TO HARD TO TURN AND THE ENGINE WAS ACCELERATED. SHE COULD NOT TURN AND HIT A CAR ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL
