AFTER MANY TIMES AT SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS EXPLAINING LOSS OF POWER, SHAKING AND BUCKING WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, SMOKE WHEN STARTING, ROUGH RUNNING. DEALERS NOT ABLE TO FIX SPECIFIC PROBLEM. I STATED THAT WHEN FUEL FILTER WAS CHANGED BY MY MECHANIC HE TELLS ME MY TANK IS DELAMINATING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I TELL ONE DEALER AND SHOW HIM THE CONTENTS OF THE FILTER REPLACEMENT WHICH IS RUSTY METAL AND FLAKES AND HE SAYS HOW DO I NOT KNOW THAT THAT DIDN'T COME FROM SOMEONE ELSE TRUCK.THAT WAS FROM KENNEDY FORD IN JENKINTOWN PA. I SAID TO REMOVE THE FUEL FILTER AND CHECK THEY REFUSED. I HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WITH FORD WHICH COST OVER 4000.00 AND THIS IS THE SECOND TIME AROUND I PAID FOR SAID WARRANTY. I CALLED FORD EXTENDED WARRANTY AT THAT TIME AND THEY SAID IT WAS COVERED UNDER THE TANK CODE 6010. I HAVE A 100.00 DEDUCTIBLE WHICH I HAVE USED SO MANY TIME FOR REPAIRS OF THIS TRUCK. I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, SHE HEARD A LOAD EXPLOSIVE NOISE AND LOSS CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE MOVING ACROSS SEVERAL LINES OF TRAFFIC BUT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL AND STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE TREAD WAS MISSING BUT STILL HAD AIR. THE SPARE TIRE WAS PLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE AND THE TIRE WERE TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT TIRE STORE WHERE THREE OF THE FOUR TIRES WERE REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE BUT THE CONTACT STATED SHE HAD TO PAY FOR THE FOURTH TIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12T019000 (TIRES) PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. FAILURE TO REPLACE RECALLED TIRES. -- MADE OVER A HALF DOZEN CALLS TO BF GOODRICH AND DISCOUNT TIRE. ALVIN AT GOODRICH SAID HE WAS SENDING ME A DAMAGE CLAIMS PACKAGE IN THE MAIL -- NEVER RECEIVED. BROUGHT VEHICLE INTO DISCOUNT TIRE (NOV. 15TH, 2016)FOR INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT, THEN SENT HOME. CALLED BACK MITCH AT DISCOUNT TIRE (96TH LN N., BROOKLYN PARK, MN) AND HE TOLD ME HE'D DEFINITELY CALL ME BACK BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY -- HE NEVER DID. CALLED MITCH THE NEXT DAY AND HE AGAIN SAID HE'D DEFINITELY CALL ME BACK BEFORE THE END OF THE DAY. AGAIN HE DIDN'T. CALLED GOODRICH TIRE NOV.19TH,2016 AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK ON THE DELAY - JOE FROM GOODRICH CALLED BACK AND SAID HE GOT NO RESPONSE FROM MITCH AT DISCOUNT TIRE. CALLED DANNY AT DISCOUNT TIRE AND TOLD I NEEDED TO COME BACK IN (MONDAY NOV. 21ST) JUST TO MEASURE TREAD DEPTH, BUT STILL NOT REPLACE (TREAD DEPTH IS STILL ABOUT 9/32 IN.(60%+ USABLE DEPTH)). BY MONDAY I'D COME DOWN WITH AN ILLNESS SO NEVER MADE IT IN (NOT THAT I SHOULD SINCE THIS WAS JUST ANOTHER "PUT OFF" PLOY. SO WHAT I'M GETTING FROM GOODRICH AND DISCOUNT TIRE IS: -- STALLING -- NOT CALLING BACK -- MAKING NEEDLESS TRIPS TO THEIR SHOP. THESE ARE DANGEROUS DELAMINATING TIRES -- RECALL NUMBER 12T-019 DOT BE1LJD114910 LT 245/75R16. TIRE BLOWOUT (NOV. 1ST,2016) DAMAGED THE VAN'S RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL, WHEEL WELL AND TAILPIPE. I WAS LUCKY, I'VE READ THAT DELAMINATION OF THESE TIRES OFTEN CAUSES WHEEL LOCKUP AND SUBSEQUENT VEHICLE ROLL-OVER. SO THEY ARE ENDANGERING MY LIFE AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD BY NOT REPLACING THESE TIRES.

2006 FORD E-350 CUTAWAY WITH THOMAS BUS BODY HAS SEVERE RUST DAMAGE TO STRUCTURAL FLOOR SUPPORT BEAM IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF REAR WHEELS.
I HAVE BCT TIRES THAT ONLY HAVE 10K MILES ON THEM, AND AROUND 2 YEARS OLD THEY ARE SIZE LT 275 75 R 16 LOAD E I HAVE THEM MOUNTED ON A 2006 FORD E450 BOX ON THE REAR, THIS IS THE SECOND BLOW OUT THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED WHERE THE TIRE SEPARATES JUST ABOVE THE BEAD. MY TRUCK IS NOT OVER WEIGHT, NOR DO I DRIVE OFF ROAD OR ABUSE THE TIRES. I BOUGHT THEM THROUGH CHERRY TIRE IN MAYBROOK NY 12543. THE OWNER JUST SOLD, AND THE NEW OWNER CLAIMS TO HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF HOW TO ASSIST ME WITH GETTING IN TOUCH WITH A USA REP FOR THEM. I FIND THAT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION AS I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND "BANG" JUST BLEW BOTH TIMES ? AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH AND FINDING OUT THESE WERE CHINA TIRES, JUST TODAY I PURCHASED NEW ALL 4 ON THE REAR OF THIS TRUCK. I HAVE IN MY POSSESSION THE 2 BLOWN TIRES, AND THE OTHER 2 THAT ARE STILL INTACT. THE FIRST BLEW ON THE INNER PASS REAR, THE SECOND ON THE OUTER DRIVERS SIDE. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD MULTIPLE ISSUES SINCE ITS PURCHASE. WE HAVE REPLACED ALL INJECTORS, WITH SOME INJECTORS REPLACED MORE THAN ONE. FINALLY, IN APRIL 2014 WHEN THE MOTOR OVERHEATED WE WERE FORCED TO REPLACE THE MOTOR. *TR
STARTED THE VAN TO PULL AHEAD ABOUT 5FT FORWARD IN MY DRIVEWAY. AS I DROPPED IT INTO DRIVE THE VAN TOOK OFF LIKE A BAT OUT OF [XXX]. SMASHING INTO MY CLASSIC CORVETTE PUSHING IT THREW THE BACK WALL OF THE GARAGE AND ALMOST TAKING OUT TWO OF MY 2- YEAR OLD GRAND CHILDREN WHO WHERE PLAYING IN THE GARAGE AT THE TIME. I PULLED THE VAN TO THE RIGHT OF THE GARAGE CRASHING AND BURYING THE VAN ABOUT 8FT DEEP INTO THE GARAGE WALL. ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD DID THE CORVETTE NOT HIT THE TWO GRAND KIDS AS IT SAILED THROUGH THE GARAGE 26 FT AND OUT THE BACK WALL. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF DAMAGE TO BOTH VEHICLES AND MY GARAGE, BUT THANK GOD MY GRAND KIDS WERE NOT HURT. FORD IS PUTTING PROFIT BEFORE PEOPLE BY NOT FIXING THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH ON SMOOTH, FLAT PAVED ROAD, THE RSC (ROLL STABILITY CONTROL) AND ABS (ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM) LIGHTS CAME ON WITH AN ANNOYING LOUD BEEP. WE ALSO FELT A PULSATION IN THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN THE DRIVER PULLED OVER. HE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE WARNING LIGHTS TURNED OFF TEMPORARILY, BUT STARTED UP AGAIN. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT BUT RECURS DAILY. WE TOOK IT IN TO HONOLULU FORD WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED FOR $225.00 AND THE DEALER QUOTED US $2,100.00 TO CHANGE BOTH THE ELECTRONIC AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNITS. WE ASKED WITH SUCH AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR, CAN THEY GUARANTEE THIS WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY REPLIED WITH "NO". THEY WANTED TO START BY CHANGING THESE UNITS FIRST. I CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND A HOST OF COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE SAME PROBLEM AND SOME THAT PAID FOR THE EXPENSIVE REPAIR BUT FOUND THE PROBLEM ONLY TO CONTINUE, SO NATURALLY I AM A SKEPTIC TO PAY THIS REPAIR COST AND CONTINUE WITH PROBLEM. I THOUGHT PERHAPS YOU CAN HELP GET FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD E-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 3 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED OPERATION AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE OIL COOLING SYSTEM WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE DID NOT HOLD WHEN ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE PARKING BRAKE UNIT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR EITHER FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
DRIVING ABOUT 30 MILES PER HOUR BEGAN TO CHANGE INTO LEFT LANE TO GO AROUND CAR AS LIGHT WAS TURNING GREEN. HEARD A LOUD SOUND THINKING MY TIRE BLEW. SUDDENLY STEERING WENT OUT OF VAN. COULD NOT CONTROL VEHICLE AS STEERING WHEEL WAS IN 360 DEGREE MOTION. HIT BRAKES TO STOP UNFORTUNATELY REAR ENDED A LADY. SHE WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. WITNESS ALSO HEARD THIS LOUD SOUND THINKING IT WAS A TIRE PROBLEM. THIS IS A 2006 E 350 FORD CARGO VAN. *TR
THIS VEHICLE IS THE CHASSIS FOR A 2006 PLEASURE WAY INDUSTRIES EXCEL TS MODEL CLASS B VAN CONVERSION. THE MAINTENANCE OF THIS VAN HAS BEEN EXCELLENT WITH RECORDS TO PROVE SUCH. SINCE OUR PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE IN MAY OF 2012, WHEN IT IS DRIVEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS HIGHER THAN 50 MPH, THE STEERING BECOMES "LOOSE" AND THE FRONT END WEAVES BACK AND FORTH. THE STEERING ALSO PULLS TO THE RIGHT EVEN WITH PROPER ALIGNMENT. TWICE THE DRIVER NEARLY LOST CONTROL DUE TO THE UNRESPONSIVE STEERING. THE REAR END IS TOO HEAVY FOR THE WEIGHT IT MUST BEAR THUS CAUSING A "WHEELY" EFFECT ON THE EXTREMELY LIGHT FRONT END. THIS CAUSES THE REAR END TO BASICALLY DRIVE THE VEHICLE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN ISSUE WITH THE FORD E350 SUPER DUTY VAN. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS MADE TO PLEASURE WAY REGARDING THE MODEL YEARS FROM 2004 THROUGH 2011 AND YET THEY CONTINUE TO PRODUCE THIS PRODUCT. WE HAVE HAD TO MAKE MAJOR ADDITIONS TO THE ORIGINAL FORD SUSPENSION TO MAKE THIS VEHICLE MARGINALLY SAFER TO DRIVE. THESE INCLUDE REAR WHEEL SPACERS, REAR SWAY BAR, HEAVIER SHOCKS, NEW HARDER SIDEWALL TIRES, ALIGNMENT CAMS, STEERING DRAGLINE, ROADMASTER ACTIVE SUSPENSION KIT. WE HAVE DOCUMENTATION FROM MANY OTHER OWNERS OF THIS SAME VEHICLE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND ARE "SCARED TO DEATH" TO DRIVE THESE VANS ON PUBLIC HIGHWAYS. *TR

THE FUEL TANK IN MY DIESEL FORD VAN (2006) IS DELAMINATING. I HAD 2 INJECTORS REPLACED ALONG WITH THE FUEL REGULATOR AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECTIVE FUEL TANK.($2,000) FORD WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS PART FAILURE. NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK, FUEL PUMP AND FUEL FILTERS AS A RESULT. THE REPAIR WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL $2,000. FORD IS BLAMING THE DIESEL FUEL FOR THIS PROBLEM. I ONLY FILL UP AT MAJOR FUEL STATIONS AND WHEN I DO THERE IS ONLY 1 CHOICE FOR DIESEL FUEL AT THE PUMP.
DELAMINATION OF FUEL TANK CAUSING CLOGGING OF FUEL SYSTEM AND ENGINE STALLING. *TR
APPARENTLY THE ADVANCED TRACK SYSTEM (STABILIZES THE VAN TO PREVENT ROLLOVER) AUTOMATICALLY PERFORMS TESTS. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT DOES IT RANDOMLY AND WHILE I'M DRIVING. WHEN IT IS IN TEST MODE, I TEMPORARILY LOOSE CONTROL OF MY BRAKES AND STEERING!!!!! IT SEEMS MORE FREQUENT IN THAT IT HAS DONE IT TWICE IN THE PAST MONTH, TODAY BEING ONE OF THE TIMES. I ACTUALLY REAR ENDED SOMEONE TODAY BECAUSE MY BRAKES DID NOT WORK!!!!!! I THINK THE SYSTEM IS A GOOD IDEA BUT THE SELF TESTING CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL IS DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW I HAVE A TICKET, A RECORD, 2 VEHICLES TO REPAIR AND PROBABLY AN INCREASE IN INSURANCE! GREAT VAN BUT THIS PART SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *TR
FORD 6.0 DIESEL ENGINES HAVE ISSUES IN RESPECT TO THE SEALS ON THE OIL PUMPS FOR THE INJECTION SYSTEM. IT IS NOT A QUESTION OF IF THE SEALS WILL FAIL, IT'S WHEN. WHEN THE SEALS FAIL, THE ENGINE WILL SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY LEAVING THE DRIVER WITHOUT POWER STEERING OR BRAKES. I HAVE TWO (2) VEHICLES FAIL IN TRAFFIC CAUSING THE DRIVERS TO ATTEMPT TO EXIT THE ROADWAY WITHOUT BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE "O-RING" SEALS USED THROUGH-OUT THE INJECTION SYSTEM. UNFORTUNATELY, I DON'T HAVE THE OLD PARTS AVAILABLE, BUT WITH APPROXIMATELY TEN OF THESE VEHICLES IN OUR FLEET, I'M SURE IT WON'T TAKE LONG BEFORE ANOTHER ONE FAILS. THIS EFFECTS ALL 6.0 FORD DIESEL MOTORS IN ALL MODEL VEHICLES FROM 2004-2008. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HAS NOT BEEN A SAFETY RECALL ON ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS MOTOR. AS MENTIONED, IT IS NOT A QUESTION OF IF THE ENGINE WILL FAIL, BUT WHEN. *TR

THE STEERING ON OUR 2006 PLEASURE-WAY RV VAN CONVERSION MODEL EXCEL TS ON A FORD E-350 CHASSIS COMPLETELY GAVE OUT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. FORTUNATELY, THIS OCCURRED ON A RESIDENTIAL SIDE STREET NEAR OUR HOME AFTER A STOP SIGN, SO THE VEHICLE COULD BE SLOWED TO A STOP WITH NO FURTHER DAMAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL RV REPAIR SHOP, AND THE COMPLETE STEERING MECHANISM - STEERING GEAR AND CORE FOR STEERING BOX - HAD TO BE REPLACED, AT A TOTAL COST OF $1,603.96. THE OLD PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. A LETTER HAS BEEN SENT TO FORD, WITH A COPY TO YOUR AGENCY, NOTIFYING THEM OF THIS STEERING FAILURE AND REQUESTING REIMBURSEMENT.*TR
DURING SAFETY CHECKS ON A 2006 FORD E-350 15 PASSENGER (CHURCH) VAN IT WAS OBSERVED THAT APPROXIMATELY 9 OF THE 13 REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELTS WERE UNAVAILABLE BECAUSE THE BELTS OR BUCKLES HAD SLIPPED DOWN THROUGH THE SEAT CUSHIONS AND WERE LYING ON THE FLOOR. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO PUSH THE (DOUBLED UP) BUCKLES / BELTS BACK UP THROUGH THE SEAT. IT WAS NECESSARY TO USE A TORX T-50 BIT ON A 3/8 RATCHET TO REMOVE THE SEAT BELT ANCHOR BOLTS AND THREAD THE BELTS DOWN FROM THE TOP AND THEN RETIGHTEN THE ANCHOR BOLTS. IT APPEARS LIKELY THAT THE BELTS WILL SOON SLIP BACK TO THE FLOOR. THIS CONDITION SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM BY THE NHTSA BECAUSE OF THE FREQUENCY OF REPORTS OF CRASHES INVOLVING SIMILAR 15 PASSENGER VANS, OFTEN OVERLOADED WITH UNRESTRAINED STUDENTS. SEAT BELT USE WOULD BE ENCOURAGED BY ENSURING THAT THE BELTS REMAIN READY FOR USE AT ALL TIMES. THERE WERE PLASTIC INSERTS IN SOME OF THE SEAT BELT 'HOLES' WHICH APPEARED TO BE INTENDED TO KEEP THE BELTS IN PLACE. BUT, THE PLASTIC INSERTS PREVENT PUSHING BELTS UP FROM UNDERNEATH AND DO A POOR JOB OF KEEPING THE BELTS FROM SLIPPING DOWN. A MUCH BETTER TETHER SYSTEM IS NEEDED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD E-350. DURING A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE CHECK, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 34000.
RE: NHTSA ITEM NUMBER 10021216 MOST OF THE VEHICLES IN THE DCAS MANAGED FLEET, AS WELL AS MOST OF THE VEHICLES AT DEPT OF CORRECTION HAVE THIS CONDITION OCCURRING. THIS LEADS TO DEACTIVATION OF THE ABS SYSTEM, AND A LACK OF SAFE BRAKING UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS. FORD WILL NOT EXTEND ANY WARRANTY CONSIDERATION ONCE THE VEHICLES HAVE COME OFF WARRANTY. THE CITY OF NEW YORK IS BEING CHARGED APPROXIMATELY $1,500 FOR EACH VEHICLE NEEDING OUT OF WARRANTY SERVICE. CONSIDERING THE SAFETY NATURE OF THIS FAILURE, I THINK FORD SHOULD HAVE A RECALL. *TR
FORD IS KNOWINGLY INSTALLING FAULTY DIESEL FUEL TANKS IN LIGHT TRUCKS SINCE 2002 AND REFUSING TO REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEFECT CAUSES THE FUEL SYSTEM TO BECOME CLOGGED RESULTING IN A LOSS OF POWER. THEREFORE CAUSING A TRAFFIC SAFETY HAZARD. THE RESULTING DAMAGE TO FUEL SYSTEM AND ENGINE COSTS 6,000.00 PLUS. IN MY CASE I HAVE A FORD E350 W/A 6.0 DIESEL MOTOR W/ 80,000 MILES STILL UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE CLAIMS THIS IS NOT COVERED. CHECK WEBSITE WWW.FINISHING.COM/442/19.SHTML FOR MORE DETAILS. FAILURE OF INJECTORS AND INTERNAL OIL COOLER LED TO IMMEDIATE ENGINE SHUT DOWN CAUSING IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, ETC. THIS HAPPENED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, (1 WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE DURING 8AM MORNING TRAFFIC, 2 WHILE TOWING A 5TH WHEEL RV IN HEAVY AFTERNOON TRAFFIC IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE WITH NO SHOULDER AVAILABLE FOR ME TO GET OFF HIGHWAY). AS I OFTEN PULL RV'S TO THE FAR WEST, IT GREATLY CONCERNS ME AS TO WHAT THE OUTCOME WOULD BE IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE ON A 6% DOWNGRADE IN THE MOUNTAINS. I HAVE HAD THREE INJECTOR FAILURES RECENTLY. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD E-350. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. AT TIMES, THE VEHICLE WOULD RESTART IMMEDIATELY, BUT AT OTHER TIMES, IT WOULD RESTART AFTER AN HOUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON FIVE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. DURING THREE OF THE VISITS, THE DEALER FOUND NO FAILURES. ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS, THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE SENSOR. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 80,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER PLACED A COMPUTER IN THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE CODES FOR THE DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THE VEHICLE HAS A LOOSE RATTLE NOISE AFTER DRIVING OVER BUMPS. THE CONSUMER PROVIDED MULTIPLE REPAIR INVOICES. UPDATED 08/13/07 *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD E350. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE STEERING BEGAN VIBRATING AND SHAKING. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR. THE DEALER BALANCED THE TIRES. HOWEVER; THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS LATER THE DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING GEAR BOX AND PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT; WHICH, DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. ALSO, THE CONTACT SMELLED EXHAUST FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE , AND THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE. APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS LATER THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED AND THE EXHAUST FUMES BECAME STRONGER AFTER BEING REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED. WHEN ENGAGING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT CAUSED HIM TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DUE TO IT EXTENDING TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT WAS AWARE OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE 9000. *AK

UPON RECEIPT OF THE VEHICLE FROM MY VAN POOL OFFICE IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WAS STIFF AND DID NOT SELF CENTER AFTER MAKING LANE CHANGES. THE STEERING WILL CONTINUE TO GO IN THE DIRECTION OF THE LANE YOU MOVED INTO. IT ALSO HAS A CONSTANT PULL TO THE LEFT WHEN GOING STRAIGHT. IN 7/06 IT WAS NOTICED THAT THE SIDE DOORS MADE A LOUD POPPING SOUND ONCE EACH WAY WE DROVE TO/FROM WORK. AFTER ABOUT TWO WEEKS I DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE TOP LATCH BECOMING DISENGAGED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE DOOR RATTLES. *NM

DT: THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS AN ACRID SMELL COMING FROM THE AIR-CONDITIONING VENTS. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO BE AN AIR COMPRESSOR FAILURE IN THE AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM. THE CONTACT HAS TEN 2005, AND 3, 2006 VEHICLES. ALL 13 HAD THE ALTERNATORS REPLACED BY THE DEALER BEFORE THE BUSES WERE PUT INTO SERVICE. THERE HAVE BEEN 3 ALTERNATOR FAILURES, 2 HIGH PRESSURE PUMP FAILURES, 1 CLUTCH FAN FAILURE AND 5 VEHICLES WITH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ISSUES.*AK UPDATED 8/15/2006 - *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IDLING FOR FIVE MINUTES OR MORE BLUE SMOKE CAME FROM THE EXHAUST AND THERE IS A STRONG EXHAUST ODOR. UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION THE SMOKE DISSIPATES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE ENGINE TURBO, THE EGR VALVE, THE AIR FLOW SENSOR AND PUT ADDITIVE IN THE FUEL TANK. THESE REPAIRS HAVE NOT SOLVED THE PROBLEM.
THIS IS MY SECOND NOTE TO YOU ABOUT THIS, I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM YOU CONCERNING MY FIRST. FORD HAS BEEN SCAMMING PEOPLE FOR OVER 10 YEARS BY USING AN OIL PRESSURE SWITCH INSTEAD OF A PRESSURE TRANSDUCER IN ALL THEIR VEHICLES (INCLUDING MY NEW 2006 E350). IT DOES NOT INDICATE THE AMOUNT OF OIL PRESSURE (LIKE ALL GAUGES DO) ONLY IF THERE IS PRESSURE OR NOT, BASICALLY THE SAME AS AN IDIOT LIGHT. THEY TELL US WE ARE BUYING A VEHICLE WITH A GAUGE AND IT IS NOT REALLY ONE. I HAVE 9 EXPERTS AND MECHANICS THAT WILL TESTIFY ON MY BEHALF AND DOZENS OF LETTERS FROM OTHER INDIVIDUALS. I WANT FORD TO REPAIR OR REFIT MY VEHICLE WITH A TRUE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE LIKE THE MANUAL SAYS, AND ALSO REFIT ALL OTHERS WHO THEY HAVE SCAMMED OVER THE YEARS TELLING THEM THEY HAVE A GAUGE WHICH INDICATES AMOUNT OF PRESSURE WHEN THEY ONLY GAVE US ONE THAT TELLS US IF WE HAVE SOME OR NONE. THANKS AND I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU ON THIS, IT SEEMS LIKE A CLASS ACTION SUIT IS APPROPRIATE. *NM
DT: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE DESIGN OF THE RUNNING BOARDS. THEY WERE DESIGNED TOO SMALL, WITH NO GRIP, SLANTED DOWNWARD, AND LOCATED TOO HIGH ON THE VEHICLE. A PASSENGER OF THE VEHICLE SLIPPED ON THE RUNNING BOARD, BUT SHE WAS NOT INJURED. THERE WERE NO HANDLES TO ASSIST THE CONTACT WHEN ENTERING THE VEHICLE. SEPARATELY, SHE NOTED THE INSIDE HANDLE ON THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WAS DIFFICULT TO OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS LEASED.*AK
