THE OTHER DAY I TOOK A RIDE IN MY TRUCK AND UPON DRIVING APPROXIMATELY TWO BLOCKS FROM MY HOME THE STEERING CONTROL OF THE CAR TOTALLY FAILED. IMAGINE DRIVING YOUR CAR AND AT SOME POINT, YOU LOSE THE CAPABILITY OF CONTROLLING YOUR CARS DIRECTION WHILE HOLDING YOUR STEERING WHEEL. ONE CAN ONLY IMAGINE IF I WAS GOING 65 MILES AN HOUR AND DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY THEN LOSING THE ABILITY TO TURN YOUR WHEELS. I AM BLESSED THIS MALFUNCTION HAPPENED WHEN I WAS ONLY TRAVELING 10 MILES AN HOUR. AFTER CALLING A TOW TRUCK AND HAVING MY CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, IT WAS DETERMINED THE CONTROL ARM BOLT HAD BROKEN OFF THEREFORE LOSING TOTAL CONTROL OF THE CARS STEERING CAPABILITY. THIS IS UNHEARD OF AND SOMETHING LIKE THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN AT ALL DURING NORMAL USE. WITH ALL OF THIS I CONTINUE TO THINK ABOUT HOW LUCKY I WAS TO SURVIVE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM OF THIS SORT AND HOW I COULD HAVE FATALLY INJURED SOMEONE ELSE WITH THIS DEFECTED CONTROL ARM OF THIS VEHICLE. SO, I DECIDED TO MAKE A CALL TO GM AND REPORT THIS ISSUE AND TO ADVISE THE COMPANY OF A PROBLEMATIC ISSUE WITH THE DESIGN OR ENGINEERING OF THE HUMMERS CONTROL ARM STEERING COMPONENT THE COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE ACKNOWLEDGED MY COMPLAINT AND RECORDED MY DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENTS AND THE ISSUES OF THE CARS STEERING SYSTEM. I REITERATED MY CONCERNS ABOUT THE ISSUES AND HOW NOT ADDRESSING THIS IN SOME SORT OF A RECALL MAY RESULT IN DEATHS. I AM ATTACHING PICTURES OF THE PART WHICH THE BOLT HAD BROKEN SO YOU MAY CONSIDER A RECALL OF THE VEHICLE'S CONTROL ARM. I GUESS PEOPLE NEED TO GET HURT BEFORE YOUR COMPANY ACTS AND TAKES THIS SERIOUSLY. SALESMAN MR LAWRENCE SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT SELL A VEHICLE WITH SEAT BELTS THAT DID NOT WORK THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR WAS NOT REPAIRED AS STATED. I TOOK DELIVERY OF THE USED VEHICLE 2-18-19 AT 0800 APPROXIMATELY
EXHAUST LEAKING BECAUSE MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKEN , THIS IS MY SECOND HUMMER , MY LAWYER HAS A HUMMER ALSO AND I BELONG TO HUMMER GROUP HERE IN FLORIDA
EXHAUST BOLTS BROKEN , LEAKING EXHAUST FUMES INTO VEHICLE , ENGINE FIRE ???? CITY DRIVING
VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES FROM START TIME, WAS STATIONARY AND UNOCCUPIED FOR APPROXIMATELY 10-25 MINUTES. VEHICLE INTERIOR CAUGHT FIRE AT THE BASE OF THE TOP SITTING AREA OF THE REAR SEAT, FLAMES FROM FIRE MELTED THE OVER HEAD INTERIOR LIGHT AND IGNITED A FIRE ON THE HEAD LINER, WHICH CAUSED THE FIRE TO SPREAD UNDER NEATH THE HEADLINER AND ROOF OF THE VEHICLE, MELTING THE EXTERIOR PAINT. THERE WAS NO PRIOR INDICATION OF BURNING WHEN DRIVING OR AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO THE FIRE. FIRE DEPARTMENT ADVISED IT WAS BELIEVED TO BE RELATED TO REAR SEAT HEATERS MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING COMBUSTION THAT LEAD TO AN INTERIOR FIRE. DOORS WERE LOCKED PRIOR TO THE FIRE, AND STORE SURVEILLANCE DIDN'T SHOW ANY SIGNS OF EXTERIOR TAMPERING WITH THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HUMMER H2. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE CORRODED, WHICH CAUSED THEM TO RUPTURE AND LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HUMMER H2. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS APPLIED MORE THAN ONCE AND IT TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LINE WAS RUSTED AND FRACTURED. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS CAUTIOUSLY DRIVEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LINE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HUMMER H2. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A TREE AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE LEFT ARM AND CHEST. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WOULDN'T GO OUT. TOOK IT TO THE GARAGE AND THEY PULLED UP THE CODE PO442, EVAP LEAK. THEY DID A SMOKE TEST AND FOUND OUT THE FUEL PUMP UNIT WAS ALL RUSTED OUT AND ALSO THE STRAPS HOLDING THE FUEL TANK IN WAS ALL RUSTED OUT. ONE OF THE STRAPS WAS COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF AND ONLY ONE WAS HOLDING THE TANK BUT IT WAS ALL RUSTED. CALLED A DEALER BECAUSE THIS PART SHOULD HAVE AN 80,000 MILE WARRANTY BUT THEY SAID IT WAS UNDER POWERTRAIN AND IT WOULDN'T BE COVERED. HOW COULD THIS BE POWERTRAIN WHEN IT WAS AN EMISSIONS ISSUE. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE. IT PROBABLY COULD OF CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE VEHICLE IS ONLY A 2006 WITH 65000 MILES ON IT SO HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN. *TR
1. NORMAL DRIVING IN TOWN AND HIGHWAY 2. FAILURE OF THE DRIVERS SIDE & PASSENGER SIDE EXHAUST MANIFOLD BOLTS; CAUSES EXHAUST GASES TO FILL ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND BYPASSES THE CATALYTIC EMISSIONS EQUIPMENT. 3. DRIVERS SIDE HEAD HAD TO BE REMOVED, BROKEN MANIFOLD BOLTS EXTRACTED FROM THE HEAD, NEW MANIFOLD AND STRONGER MANIFOLD BOLTS INSTALLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HUMMER H2. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE WINDOW REGULATOR ASSEMBLY REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,664.
AT FIRST THE WASHERS JUST KEPT SPRAYING AND WOULDN'T STOP. I HAD TO TAKE OUT THE FUSE TO GET IT TO STOP. I RECENTLY PUT THE FUSE BACK IN AND NOW IT WON'T WORK. THE WASHERS WILL JUST START SPRAYING OUT OF THE BLUE AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND YOU CAN'T GET IT TO STOP. IT DECREASES YOUR VISIBILITY. I HAVE READ THAT THEY HAVE HAD RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY HAVE ALOT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES. ALSO THE HEATING UNIT ON MY DRIVER SEAT RANDOMLY COMES ON BY ITSELF AND WON'T SHUT OFF. I BOUGHT THIS HUMMER USED AND NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES UNTIL RECENTLY. I HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY RECALL NOTICES BUT I WONDER IF I SHOULD OF. THIS IS DANGEROUS ISSUES. *TR
HEAVY FUMES ARE PRESENT INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE AFTER THE FUEL TANK IS FILLED AND PERSISTS UNTIL THE FUEL GAUGE READS 7/8 OF A TANK. HAVE NOT DETERMINED WHAT IS CAUSING THE FUMES OTHER THAN IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS FULL. CURRENT SOLUTION IS TO NOT FILL UP THE FUEL TANK COMPLETELY. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 HUMMER H2T. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND THE ON-STAR SYSTEM DID NOT ACTIVATE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT BUT THE MANUFACTURER PLANNED TO SEND A TEAM OF SPECIALISTS TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,000. UPDATED 09/1/610

STEERING IS VERY SLOPPY AND VAGUE AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THERE IS TOO MUCH NON ACTIVE MOVEMENT TO CORRECT DIRECTION. I HAVE TO MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AT LEAST 6 INCHES CONSTANTLY TO EVEN KEEP THE TRUCK STRAIGHT. I HEAR GM HAS WEAK PITMAN ARMS ETC.. ALSO THE STEERING JUDDERS AND VIBRATES AND SOMETIMES IT GETS STUCK AND GOES WHEN COLDER USUALLY. SOMETIMES BRAKES ARE STRONG, SOMETIMES THEY ARE WOODEN AND LACK GRIP ALMOST RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT. I KEEP MUCH DISTANCE TO THE OTHER CARS SO I DID NOT CRASH. BUT I GET A SCARED SENSATION WHEN CONTROLS DON'T WORK CORRECTLY. *TR
I PURCHASED A 2006 HUMMER H2 AT CERRITOS HUMMER. I CURRENTLY HAVE ALMOST 55,000 MILES. TODAY I WAS PARKING MY CAR AND NOTICED THE STEERING WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN. ALSO THE BRAKES WERE REALLY WEAK. I USED ALL THE ENERGY I HAD TO GET INTO A GAS STATION DRIVEWAY. I DROVE ABOUT 1 BLOCK BECAUSE I NEEDED GAS WHERE I NOTICED OIL DROPPING UNDER THE CAR. I CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AND THE OIL WAS COMING OUT NEAR THE POWER STEERING PUMP. I OPENED THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR AND SAW THAT THERE WAS VERY LITTLE OIL BECAUSE IT HAD DROPPED UNDER MY CAR. MY STEERING IS TOO HARD TO TURN AND THE BRAKES ARE ALMOST NON EXISTENT PULLING INTO THE GAS STATION. I CALLED CERRITOS HUMMER AND TALKED TO THEIR SERVICE MANAGER AND HE SAID I WAS PAST WARRANTY. I TOLD HIM THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS EXACT PROBLEM, BUT HE SAID NO AND GOT VERY LOUD AND MEAN TO ME. I TOLD HIM HE DID NOT HAVE TO GET MEAN BECAUSE HE CAN ONLY DO WHAT THE COMPUTERS AND PROTOCOL SUGGESTS, BUT HE DID NOT DO ENOUGH RESEARCH PRIOR TO REJECTING ANY RECALLS. HE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO TOW MY CAR THERE AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO INSPECT AND THE CHARGES COULD BE HIGH DEPENDING ON THE PROBLEM. I SAID THERE WAS A RECALL BUT HE REJECTED IT AGAIN IN A STRONG TONE. I DID NOT WANT TO ARGUE IN CASE THEY HAVE TO REPAIR MY CAR. I THINK THAT THIS PROBLEM IS A SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUE BECAUSE A WEAK PERSON WOULD NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO PULL INTO THE PARKING LOT AS I DID. I PULLED VARIOUS MUSCLES IN MY ARMS AND SHOULDERS STEERING THE CAR INTO THE GAS STATION. I DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER CAR AND I DON'T THINK I CAN PAY THE COST TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED APPROXIMATELY 25 MILES TO CERRITOS HUMMER. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT PAY ANY TOW CHARGES NOR INSPECTION COSTS NOR COSTS TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. I SPEND WAY TOO MUCH MONEY AT THEIR DEALERSHIP TO BE TREATED THIS WAY. I AM USUALLY AN EASY GOING GUY, BUT THE TREATMENT HE GAVE ME REALLY ANGERED ME. MY BACK ARMS AND SHOULDERS HURT BECAUSE THE STEERING WAS SO HARD. *TR
THE AIR FILTER COVERS ON MY H2 GET HOT AND START DEFORMING "RIPPLES" IN THE PLASTIC. THE PLASTIC MOLDING BETWEEN THEM WHERE THE WIPERS GO THROUGH DEFORMING ALSO. I HAVE REPLACED 4 AIR FILTER COVERS IN UNDER 6,000 MILES. AND 1 WIPER MOLDING. I AM NOT SURE OF THE CONSEQUENCES. HUMMER SAYS IT'S NO PROBLEM. I HAVE 1 OF THE AIR FILTER COVERS THAT HAS FAILED IN MY POSSESSION. ACCORDING TO GM/HUMMER THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THEY WILL JUST KEEP REPLACING THEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC H2 HUMMER. HE STATED THAT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD ILLUMINATE AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED WHEN HE ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND CLOSED THE DOOR. HE STATED HE WOULD HAVE TO SHUT THE LIGHT OFF MANUALLY. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 12,572.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 GMC HUMMER H2. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND DROVE INTO A CANAL. THE TOW MECHANIC STATED THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINT SNAPPED AND CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED SCRATCHES FROM THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 8,000.
2006 HUMMER H2 FIXED 3 TIMES FROM DEALER THERE IS A SQUEAK COMING FROM THE REAR PART OF THE VEHICLE THE NOISE OCCURS WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS SUCH AS A SPEED BUMP ALSO WHEN STOPPING AND GOING...AND ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY. *JB
BRAKES ARE VERY NOISY (SQUEAKING) DEALER GRINDED DOWN BRAKE PADS AND REMOVED AND SANDED THE ROTORS. STILL HAVE SQUEAK NOT AS BAD. VERY CONCERNED ON BRAKE ISSUE AND JIMMY RIG FIX AT 6000 MILES
