THERE ARE TWO SAFETY ISSUES WITH THIS MINI VAN. THE FIRST ONE IS FOR THE DOOR HANDLES/LATCHES ON THE BACK SLIDING DOORS ON DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR IT AND APPARENTLY IT WAS FIXED IN 2009 BUT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM AGAIN THAT IS GETTING WORSE. WHEN I TRY TO OPEN THE DOOR TO GET MY CHILD OUT THE DOOR HANDLE DOES NOT ENGAGE, I HAVE TO TRY TO OPEN FROM INSIDE AND SOMETIMES THAT DOES NTO ENGAGE, SO THEN I HAVE TO SLIDE THE LOCK BACK AND FORTH AND CONTINUE TO TRY TO OPEN THE DOOR UNTIL IT FINALLY OPENS. THIS OBVIOUSLY IS A BIG SAFETY PROBLEM IF WE WERE EVER TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT ETC. I CALLED MAZDA AND THEY SAID RECALL IS CLOSED AND THEY CAN NOT HELP ME UNLESS I WANT TO PAY DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF 140 AND THEN WHATEVER THE REPAIR IS ON TOP OF THAT. THE SECOND PROBLEM IS THE BRAKES. THEY DO NOT WORK WELL UNDER IDEAL CONDITIONS, BUT WHEN IT RAINS SOMETIMES THEY STOP WORKING ALL TOGETHER. I'VE ALMOST BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES WHEN THEY SUDDNELY GO SOFT AND JUST STOP WORKING. I HAVE TO CONTINUOUSLY PUMP THE BRAKES TO TRY TO GET ANY TRACTION AND THEN STOP DRIVING UNTIL THEY DRY OUT. WE'VE HAD THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM REPLACED AND MECHANICS SAY NOTHING IS WRONG, BUT OBVIOUSLY THIS IS JUST A BAD DESIGN AND SOMETHING IS DEFINITELY WRONG. WE CAN'T AFFORD A NEW CAR BUT DON'T' FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR, NOT SURE WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT.
INTERMITTENT LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. LOSS OF STEERING CAPABILITY AS WELL. THE LOSS IS SUDDEN AND CAUSES THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AS STEERING BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. THIS IS DANGEROUS. I ALMOST RAN OFF THE ROAD ONCE AND HIT A MEDIAN ON ANOTHER OCCASION. ITS LIKE A TIME BOMB, YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU WILL LOSE THE ABILITY TO STEER THE CAR. DASH LIGHTS ALL LIGHT UP AS WELL AND SOMETIMES POWER IS RESTORED BUT THE ABILITY TO STEER THE CAR IS NOT. CAR IS OUTSIDE OF THE RECALL YET STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL ISSUE AND MAZDA CLAIMS NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE. ADDITIONAL VEHICLES NEED TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST AS THERE ARE MORE VEHICLES AFFECTED OUTSIDE OF THE VIN'S INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. SINCE. ACCORDING TO MAZDA, THEY COMPLY WITH NHTSA WHEN ISSUING RECALLS, MORE VEHICLES NEED TO BE INCLUDED AS THERE IS A MULTITUDE OF MAZDA 5 OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALL VEHICLES.
BRAKE PEDAL SPONGY AFTER ABS SYSTEM ACTIVATED,SEEM LIKE ABS CONTROL UNIT FAULT PUMP AIR IN BRAKE SYSTEM.IT IS A SAFETY ISSUES WITH A LOT OF MAZDA MODEL.MAZDA HAD TO DO SOME BEFORE SOMETHING BAD,ACCIDENT HAPPENS
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR FLEW OPEN WITH MY 5 AND 3 YEAR OLD IN THE CAR. WHEN I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO CLOSE IT I COULD SEE THAT THE LATCH WAS FROZEN OPEN. I COULD NOT GET IT TO LATCH AGAIN UNTIL THE TEMPERATURE HAD BEEN WARMER FOR HALF THE DAY. IT HAS BEEN COLDER THAT 25 DEGREES FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS.
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, MADE A U TURN AND SUDDENLY ALL LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD WENT OFF AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO TURN ON AND OFF WITH NO KEY IN THE IGNITION AND CAUGHT FIRE. I HAD PARKED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE ROAD ON A CITY STREET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 126,481.
THE STEERING WHEEL BECOMES STIFF WHILE IN MOTION AND A WARNING YELLOW STEERING LIGHT TURNS ON ON DASHBOARD. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR THE LAST FOUR YEARS. WE EVEN HAD IT CHECKED WITH A MECHANIC WHO COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. AFTER THE CAR COOLS DOWN, THE STEERING STARTS WORKING AGAIN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, SINCE WHILE DRIVING, THE WHEEL BECOMES INOPERATIVE, THEREFORE, MAY CAUSE A TRAGIC ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE SUN ROOF SHATTERED WITHOUT IMPACT. AS A RESULT, SMALL PIECES OF GLASS FELL ON THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR CUTS TO THE HANDS THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO AVOID A COLLISION AND MERGED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NO IMPACT TO THE SUN ROOF THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 158,914.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. WHILE STOPPED IN TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND CAUGHT FIRE. A POLICE OFFICER EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 139,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PLASTIC GUARD AROUND THE TIRE FRACTURED AND DETACHED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE BRAKE LINE WAS CUT BY THE PLASTIC AND CAUSED THE DRIVER TO CRASH INTO A ROCK WALL. THE BRAKE CALIPER AND DRIVER DOOR WERE DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
WE'VE OWNED OUR MAZDA 5 2006 SINCE 2009. THERE WERE 22,000 MILES ON THE CAR WHEN WE PURCHASED IT. IN 2016, IT HAS 138,000 MILES. DURING OUR OWNERSHIP, WE HAVE PURCHASED 2 NEW TIRES AT 60,000, 2 NEW TIRES AT 73,000, 2 NEW TIRES AT 82,000, 2 NEW TIRES AT 104,000, 1 TIRE AT 107,000, 2 NEW TIRES AT 116,000, AND 1 NEW TIRE AT 124,000. WE ARE RESPONSIBLE ABOUT ROTATING AND BALANCING THE TIRES EVERY 5-6,000 MILES. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN PUNCTURED ON AT LEAST 3 OCCASIONS, DUE TO UNEVEN WEAR. WE REPLACED THE FRONT STRUTS AND REAR SHOCKS AT 126,000 MILES IN HOPES OF CORRECTING UNEVEN WEAR (DONE BY THE MAZDA DEALER). WE WERE JUST NOTIFIED TODAY THAT ONE TIRE HAS AGAIN WORN UNEVENLY (ON THE INSIDE, AS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE ISSUE...) WE ARE CAREFUL DRIVERS AND OWNERS AND HAVE NEVER HAD (NOT HEARD OF) A CAR WITH THESE KINDS OF UNEVEN TIRE WEAR PROBLEMS. MOST MILES HAVE BEEN ADDED IN THE CITY, BUT WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE ON SEVERAL LONG-DISTANCE VACATIONS. WE HAVE ALL OF THE DOCUMENTATION BUT DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO UPLOAD AT THIS MOMENT. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WANT THE DOCUMENTS.
THE MAZDA PART USED IN 2006 IS EXACTLY THE SAME PART USED IN 2007-2009 WHICH HAVE A NHTSA RECALL, SO WHY ISN'T THE 2006 COVERED? IT'S THE SAME PART WITH THE SAME INHERENT DEFECT. OUR POWER STEERING PUMP HAS FAILED WITH LESS THAN 75,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THE FAULT CAUSES THE POWER STEERING LIGHT TO COME ON AND THE PUMP STOPS WORKING MAKING THE STEERING VERY HEAVY, IT CAN HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING, AT A LIGHT, OR STATIONARY. THE PUMP IS ELECTRICAL SO SOMETIMES TURNING OFF THE CAR AND TURNING IT BACK ON "RESETS" THE SYSTEM AND IT WILL WORK FOR A LITTLE WHILE BEFORE FAILING AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA MAZDA5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE SLIDING DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT MERGED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, SHE DISCOVERED THAT THE LATCH WAS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V463000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. THE CONTACT WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURES LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V374000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE STILL RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 149,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA MAZDA5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LATCH ON THE REAR PASSENGER AND DRIVER SIDE DOORS SEIZED AND FRACTURED WHILE THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA MAZDA5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AFTER THE STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V374000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,224.
I OWN A 2006 MAZDA5 AND THE SEATBELT BASE CONNECTOR FELL APART, LITERALLY COLLAPSED AND ALL THE PIECES OF HARD PLASTIC CAME OFF LEAVING AN UNLATCHABLE METAL PLATE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX THE THING BECAUSE IT IS TOO EXPENSIVE FOR MY SINGLE MOM FIXED BUDGET OF 3 KIDS AND NO WORK BECAUSE I ATTEND SCHOOL FULL TIME. *TR
I AM FILING A COMPLAINT AGAINST FLOW MAZDA OF FAYETTEVILLE NC BECAUSE OF THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER FAILING TO PROVIDE DEALER WARRANTY INFORMATION AND/OR TIRE MANUFACTURER WARRANTY INFORMATION AT TIME OF PURCHASE OF 3 TIRES ON 23 FEB 2013 1420 EST. AS A RESULT I JUST FOUND OUT YESTERDAY JULY 31, 2014 AFTER 0920 HRS. EST THAT DUE TO NOT FOLLOWING "OWNERS OBLIGATIONS" IT WAS MY FAULT FOR A REALLY VAGUE TERM - "LACK OF MAINTENANCE". I ALSO ATTEMPTED TO FILE AN OFFICIAL COMPLAINT WITH [XXX] OF FLOW MAZDA UNFORTUNATELY HE DID NOT WRITE ANYTHING DOWN AND HE TOLD ME IT WILL BE STORED IN HIS HEAD. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA MAZDA5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK ON THE RIGHT HINGE OF THE REAR HATCH. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT THE FAILURE, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN. *TR
UPDATE - TIRE WEAR/SUSPENSION. I CONTACTED MAZDA USA VIA E-MAIL ON 5/31/13. I RECEIVED A RESPONSE CONCERNING THIS MATTER AND WAS GIVEN A CANNED RESPONSE BUT IT WAS BASICALLY "SORRY FOR YOUR LUCK" YOU WILL NEED TO TAKE TO A MAZDA DEALER TO SEE WHAT STEPS "YOU" CAN TAKE TO ENSURE A BETTER LIFE FOR YOUR VEHICLE AND TO TRY TO AVOID SUCH COSTLY REPAIRS. THERE WAS NO OFFER TO ASSIST. I CALLED THE REP AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD THE SAME THING. I ASKED HOW MANY REPORTS OF THE ALIGNMENT/TIRE WEAR ISSUES WERE REPORTED TO THEM AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT PROVIDE THAT INFORMATION. I'VE RE-CHECKED NHTSA'S WEB PAGE AND NOTED THESE ISSUES FROM 2006 TO 2011 MODELS ARE HEAVILY DOCUMENTED. PAGES AND PAGES OF THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTS. WITH THE UNEVEN TIRE WEAR OF MAZDA 5 VEHICLES HAPPENING TO THE INNER WALL OF THE TIRES, A REGULAR DRIVER CAN NOT SEE, THE OUTSIDE OF THE TIRE APPEARS TO HAVE PLENTY OF TREAD, WHILE THE INSIDE OF THE TIRE IS PRACTICALLY BALD. THIS CAUSES POTENTIAL BLOW OUTS, AND DRIVING HAZARDS - BOTH MY BLOW OUTS - INNER WALL WEAR! PLEASE HELP ASAP! *TR
PURCHASED 06 MAZDA 5 TOURING IN 8/2007 - HAD FIRST PROBLEM WITH TIRES - HAD BLOW OUT ON HIGHWAY - PULLED OFF ROAD - HUSBAND CAME AND NOTED THE INNER WALL OF TIRE WAS WORN BADLY AND BLEW - ON OUTSIDE TIRES APPEAL FINE BUT WAS TOLD ALL 4 TIRES NEEDED REPLACED DUE TO WEAR ON INNER WALLS. REPLACED - 1.5 YEARS LATER - SAME INNER WALL WEAR ISSUES - REPLACED TIRES. 1 YEAR LATER - REPLACE FRONT STRUTS - 6 MONTHS LATER - REPLACED FRONT TWO TIRES DUE TO INNER WALL WEAR. 1 YEAR LATER REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES DUE TO INNER WALL WEAR - TOLD TODAY THAT I WILL NEED NEW TIRES ONCE AGAIN.... SAME ISSUE, INNER WALL WEAR - ALSO TOLD I WILL NEED NEW FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION. PER MULTIPLE SITES, THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE AND CREATES SAFETY RISKS.... NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSES BY MAZDA ASAP! *TR
2006 MAZDA 5 STEERING WHEEL GOT STUCK 4 TIMES IN LAST 2 MONTHS FOR FRACTION OF SECONDS WHILE MAKING EITHER LEFT OR RIGHT TURN DRIVING AT 10-15 MPH (ONE TIME AT AFTER I STOPPED AT STOP SIGN). THE STEERING WHEEL GOT SO HARD I COULD NOT TURN IT AND THEN ALL OF SUDDEN I WAS ABLE TO TURN. TOOK IT TO DEALER BUT THEY SAID THEIR DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS DID NOT FIND ANY ISSUES AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. *TR
BOTH FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS NEED TO BE REPLACED 1 YEAR/12,000 MILES AFTER BEING INSTALLED. SERVICE WAS DONE BY THE DEALER. CAUSED EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR ON THE INSIDE TREAD REQUIRING NEAR ONE YEAR OLD TIRES TO BE REPLACED TO PASS INSPECTION.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT DRIVING ABOUT 25 MPH DOWNHILL. MECHANIC COULD NOT FIND FAULT. DRIVING UP A WINDING CAYON ROAD, POWER STEERING WENT OUT, CAUSING ONE TO USE FORCE TO TURN VEHICLE. NO RECALLS ON THE 2006 MAZDA5, HOWEVER RECALLS ON THE 2007. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BY MAZDA YET THEY DID NOT ISSUE A RECALL. NO WARRANTY DUE TO BEING OVER 50K MILES. *TR
I WAS LOOKING IN NADAGUIDES IF FOUND A REPORT OF A PROBLEM WITH DAMPING NOISE IN FRONT SUSPENSION AND I FOUND A RECALL CAMPAIGN 05V412000, AND I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS CAR WAS ISPECTED BECAUSE I BOUGHT THE CAR THREE MONTHS AGO IN A DEALER IN PUERTO RICO. OTHER INFORMATION I WILL LIKE TO KNOW IS IF THE MAZDA 5 PRESENTS PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT SUSPENSION, SHOCKS ABSORBER OR OTHER PARTS RELATED. MY ANTICIPATED THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA MAZDA5. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V463000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH). APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS LATER WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WAS STUCK IN A PARTIALLY OPENED POSITION. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. AFTER REPEATED ATTEMPTS THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE EXTERIOR. ONCE THE DOOR OPENED THE DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 44,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND STAYED ON. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE IDLE CONTROL MODULE AND SPEED SENSOR BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, IT WOULD SHAKE AND THEN STALL. A MECHANIC STATED THAT THE INTAKE MANIFOLD VACUUM VALVE WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL 05V412000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING: EXHAUST SYSTEM). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
1. EVENT LEADING UP TO FAILURE: ENGINE LIGHT ON. BROUGHT IN TO MAZDA 5 FOR SERVICE. ENGINE MOUNT APPEARS TO HAVE BROKEN. BELIEVE WEIGHT OF ENGINE ON TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND VIBRATION RELATED TO ENGINE MOUNT RESULTED IN BREAKAGE OF TEMPERATURE SENSOR. 2. THE FAILURE, HOW OFTEN IT OCCURS, ITS CONSEQUENCES ENGINE MOUNTS IN 2006 MAZDA 5 ARE MADE OF PLASTIC AND RUBBER ENGINE MOUNT THAT HAS A SIGNIFICANTLY HIGH FAILURE RATE. SEE HTTP://REPAIRPAL.COM/DEFECTIVE-ENGINE-MOUNT-MAY-CAUSE-EXCESSIVE-VIBRATIONNOISE-460 FOR SUMMARY AND HTTP://WWW.FINISHLINEPERFORMANCE.COM/PDF/MAZDA5/BULLETIN/03-001-07-1823.PDF FOR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN. FROM RESEARCH. DEFECTIVE ENGINE MOUNTS CAN CAUSE SIGNIFICANTLY EXPENSIVE DAMAGE TO ENGINE MAKING IT A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT WILL IMPACT DRIVABILITY OF VEHICLE. MAZDA 5 REFUSES TO HANDLE SUCH ISSUES AS THEY ARE OUT OF WARRANTY DESPITE THEY ARE A DESIGN FLAW. 3. WHAT WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE FAILURE OUT OF POCKET REPAIRS AT SUTHERLIN MAZDA MALL OF GEORGIA INCLUSIVE OF SERVICE AND PARTS TO REPLACE NUMBER 3 ENGINE MOUNT AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR ADDITIONAL NOTES: 2006 MAZDA 5 HAS UNDERGONE TWO PRIOR RECALLS ALSO SAFETY RELATED. ENGINE MOUNT FAILURE AND ADDITIONAL COMMON PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE MODEL CAN BE FOUND AT HTTP://REPAIRPAL.COM/CARS/MAZDA/5. BELIEVE THIS SHOWS A PATTERN OF VEHICLE DESIGN NEGLIGENCE. PLEASE INQUIRE IF MAZDA HAS REPORTED ISSUE TO NHTSA REGARDING DEFECTIVE ENGINE MOUNTS AND FAILURE RATES OF THESE MOUNTS ASSOCIATED WITH MAZDA TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (SEE PREVIOUS PDF URL). *TR
JUST TOOK OWNERSHIP OF A 2006 MAZDA5 TOURING FROM MY BROTHER-IN-LAW. HE JUST REPLACED THE TIRES RECENTLY DUE TO EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR ON THE INSIDE WALL. IF YOU LOOK FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR, THE TIRES ARE TILTED IN AT THE TOP. TIRE STORE SAYS ACCORDING TO MAZDA, THE ALIGNMENT ARE IN SPEC. I CHECKED THE FORUMS AND FOUND MULTIPLE OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND TO FIX IT, THEY HAVE TO INSTALL AN AFTERMARKET CAMBER KIT. THERE IS A NEGATIVE CAMBER ISSUE ON THESE CARS. I DON'T WANT TO RUIN THESE NEW TIRES AS THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. WHY DOES MAZDA NOT REALIZE THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE? THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO FIX THIS INSTEAD OF HAVING THE OWNERS SPEND MONEY TO FIX IT ON THEIR OWN. CAN YOU GET MAZDA TO PUT OUT A RECALL??? *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, A DEER RAN IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES TO AVOID CRASHING INTO THE DEER. THE BACK PASSENGER FELL OUT OF THE BOOSTER SEAT WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND HIT HIS HEAD ON THE BACK HEAD REST OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES . THE CONTACT THEN NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELT HAD FAILED TO GRIP ONTO THE SEAT AND IT WAS BROKEN. THE DEALER WAS INFORMED ABOUT THE FAILURE AND THEY REPAIRED THE SEAT BELT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110000.
AT 62,000 MILES HAD A NOISE IN THE REAR. TOOK IT TO DEALER WHO SAID IT WAS THE SHOCKS. THIS IS THE 3RD SET OF SHOCKS THAT HAVE BROKEN. MAZDA WAS GOOD ABOUT IT AND WILL COVER MOST OF THE COST. DEALER STATED THAT THEY SEE THIS A LOT AND THAT MAZDA HAS RESIGNED THE SHOCKS SO HOPEFULLY IT WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE GOING FORWARD. THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER BECAUSE OF THIS REDESIGN SO IT WILL BE A FEW WEEKS BEFORE THEY COME IN. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN DRIVING UNDER 5 MPH, THE POWER STEERING WOULD LOCK AND SHE WOULD HAVE TO UTILIZE EXTREME BODILY FORCE TO MANEUVER THE STEERING WHEEL. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ENTIRE STEERING PUMP YET THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,729 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 92,194.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEY HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO DEALER FIVE TIMES TO HAVE THE CONTROL ARMS REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO PERMANENTLY REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING A CRASH DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,528 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
I HAVE HAD MY 2006 MAZDA 5 TOURING FOR APPROXIMATELY 3.5 YEARS. THIS WILL BE THE 4 SET OF TIRES I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE DUE TO INSIDE WEAR. *TR
NEED TO REPLACE THE TIRES AGAIN. 5TH TIME SINCE OWNING THE CAR. WHEN IS MAZDA GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA MAZDA5. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SUMITOMO TIRES WERE WEARING THIN. THE DEFECTIVE TIRES WERE REPLACEMENT TIRES WERE MANUFACTURED BY SUMITOMO, SIZE P205/50/R17, AND THE DOT NUMBER WAS U2H4. THE TIRE LINE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE TIRES WERE REPLACED AT LEAST FOUR TIMES. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED TO HAVE SOMEONE INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS WERE INCORRECT AND RELAYED THAT INFORMATION TO THE DEALER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 29,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 8,000.
CAR WON'T MOVE FORWARD WHEN I ACCELERATE THE GAS PEDAL FOR A MOMENT THEN IT JUMP FORWARD AND BECOME DRIVABLE. THIS HAPPENED VERY OFTEN IN THE MORNING. *TR
OIL LIGHT BEGAN TO FLICKER ON MAINTAINED MAZDA 5. ADDED 2 QUARTS OIL. FOLLOWING DAY ENGINE BEGAN TO RATTLE , JERK AND STOP GOING 65 MPH ON FREEWAY. A ROD FROM WITHIN THE MOTOR CRACK AND PUNCTURED THE OIL PAN CRACKING THE MOTOR. A NEW MOTOR IS REQUIRED. WAS ADVISED BY INSURANCE MECHANIC SENT FOR SECOND OPINION WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT. MAZDA SAYS IS NOT COVER BY WARRANTY BECAUSE OF MILEAGE ON CAR. *TR
1. PURCHASE VEHICLE USED IN 2009 WITH 170,000 KMS 2. SINCE DAY ONE, HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH DOOR LATCHES / LOCK AND UNLOCK - HAPPENS ON RANDOM OCCASSIONS AND ESPECIALLY IN COLD/ WET OR HUMID CONDITIONS. ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO LOCK / UNLOCK THE REAR PASSENGER DOORS USING THE KEYFOB OR THE INTERIOR VEHICLE SWITCHES, (I HAVE TO UNLOCK/LOCK THE REAR VEHICLE DOORS MANUALLY). 2. TODAY FOR THE FIRST TIME, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN (WHILE DRIVING) AS IT DID NOT LATCHED CLOSED. THE RIGHT SIDE REAR SLIDING DOOR STILL WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED......THOUGHT IT WAS FROZEN, BUT DEALER SAYS NO - NOT FROZEN - IT'S A FAULTY PART / SWITCH CAUSING ISSUE. 3. ASKED DEALER ABOUT RECALL INFO - THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL SERVICE FOR THAT DOOR LATCH PROBLEM HAS ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER.....THEREFORE, THIS ISSUE WILL BE MY PROBLEM TO PAY FOR (OUT OF WARRANTY). 3. INTERMITENT ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE. DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLICKER AT TIMES. GAS DOOR POPS OPEN FOR NO REASON, AND AT TIME WILL NOT STAY CLOSED OR WILL NOT OPEN. 4. UNEVEN TIRE WEAR. HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 9 MONTHS AND THE TIRES ARE ALREADY BALD ON THE INSIDES ONLY. VEHICLE FEELS LIKE IT HAS A VIBRATION OR SUSPENSION PROBLEM SINCE DAY ONE, BUT THE DEALER CLAIMS NOTHING IS WRONG, NO PROBLEM AND ALIGNMENT IS FINE? THEY BLAIM IT ON MY TIRES OR MY DRIVING. BUT, I HAVE READ SEVERAL POSTINGS ABOUT THESE SAME ISSUES. *TR
SQUEAKY NOISE FROM FRONT AND REAR SUSPENSION ON MAZDA5 2006. IT MADE YOU FEEL THAT THE WHOLE FRONT END OR REAR PARTS READY TO FELL OFF THE CAR. MAZDA DEALER HAS REPLACED FRONT AND REAR BUSING RUBBERS BUT PROBLEM CAME BACK AFTER 2 YEARS. ALSO, THE CAR HESITATE AND SUDDEN JUMP WHEN GASSING, IT HAPPENS IN THE MORNING. *TR
HANDBRAKE ON MAZDA 5 FAILED TO ENGAGE WHEN STOPPED , THE HANDBRAKE PULLED UP BUT WITH NO TENSION WHATSOEVER , A CHILD COULD HAVE LIFTED IT . I HAD PULLED UP TO A CARPARK AND PUT THE GEAR TO NEUTRAL , BUT THE HANDBRAKE WOULD NOT ENGAGE WHEN I LIFTED IT , IT WAS IN COLD CONDITIONS , ( COLD FOR REP OF IRELAND ) -4 'C, I USE THIS CAR TO FERRY MY CHILDREN AROUND , THROUGH ONE SEARCH I FOUND THIS SITE WHICH HAS A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE MAZDA 5 HANDBRAKE HTTP://MAZDAFORUM.COM/FORUM/ARCHIVE/INDEX.PHP/T-7528.HTML . PLEASE PLEASE DO SOMETHING! *TR
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WOULD SUDDENLY STALL. IT HAPPENED AT LOW SPEEDS UP TO SPEEDS NEAR 50MPH. EVERYTHING WOULD BE FINE, BUT THEN IT WAS LIKE THERE WAS A STUMBLE AND THE ENGINE WOULD SHIFT TO IDLE, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT CUT OUT, BUT WOULD ONLY IDLE. IF WE TURNED THE CAR OFF, WAITED A MINUTE, THEN RESTARTED THE CAR, IT WOULD DRIVE FINE (UNTIL THE PROBLEM REPEATED ITSELF AT ANOTHER RANDOM TIME). THE DEALER MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR. THEY FIRST CHANGED THE THROTTLE BODY, BUT THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN TO US WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF THE REPAIR. THEY NEXT CHANGED THE ACCEL PEDAL, BUT IT AGAIN HAPPENED AS WE PULLED OUT OF THE DEALER ACROSS TRAFFIC LEAVING US VULNERABLE TO A SEVERE ACCIDENT. FINALLY, THEY REPLACED A GROUND WIRE FOR THE ACCEL PEDAL AND THE PROBLEM "SEEMS" TO BE RESOLVED. I SAY "SEEMS" BECAUSE THE CAR DOES NOT DRIVE LIKE IT DID BEFORE THE PROBLEMS STARTED. THERE STILL SEEMS TO BE A STUMBLE, BUT NO STALLING. SINCE THE CAR DOES NOT STALL, WE ARE NOT TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT WE GET VERY NERVOUS EACH TIME WE FEEL A SLIGHT STUMBLE. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS SIMILAR TO THE "DRIVE-BY-WIRE" PROBLEMS EXPERIENCED BY TOYOTA DRIVERS AND HAS POTENTIAL FOR A SEVERE ACCIDENT, SO I THOUGHT IT WAS WORTHY OF REPORTING. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 MAZDA 5. I HAVE GONE THROUGH 4 SETS OF TIRES BECAUSE THEY WEAR ON THE INSIDE. I AM ABOUT TO REPLACE MY 5TH SET. THIS IS A VERY COSTLY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. MAZDA SAYS ITS DRIVING HABITS THAT IS CAUSING THIS, I DRIVE MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES. *TR
BOUGHT THE MAZDA5 NEW IN JUNE OF 2006, SINCE THEN WE HAVE PUT 22,000 MILES ON THE CAR, THE TIRES WHICH WERE TOYO'S WORE OUT AT 21,000 MILES ON THE INSIDE, OUTSIDE LOOKED LIKE YOU COULD DRIVE ON THEM ANOTHER COUPLE THOUSAND MILES. INSIDES WERE DOWN TO THE CORDS. TIRES WERE ROTATED EVERY 7,000 MILES. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE PROBLEM AND THEY SAID THEY COULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT AND TO CONTACT MAZDA USA. I CONTACTED MAZDA USA, AND THEY DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM, I EVEN TOLD THEM THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE I HAVE SPOKEN WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I REALLY FELT AND STILL FEEL LIKE THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH THIS CONDITION BECAUSE ANY OF THE TIRES CAN BLOW OUT AT ANY MOMENT WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. *TR
MY 2006 MAZDA5 WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS 28,000 MILES. THE PARKING BRAKE CAN BE PULLED UP FULLY WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED, YET IT DOES NOT STOP THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING ONCE PUT IN DRIVE. I CAN EASILY DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT REALIZING THE PARKING BRAKE IS ON. ON ALL MY OTHER VEHICLES, THE PARKING BRAKE STOPS THE VEHICLE WHEN IT IS APPLIED WHETHER IN DRIVE OR PARK. IT APPEARS TO BE A VERY WEAK PARKING BRAKE, WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE IT IS BASICALLY USELESS. THE BRAKE DOESN'T HAVE THE NECESSARY STRENGTH TO HOLD THE CAR IN PLACE WHEN PARKED. *TR
SEATBELT IN MY 2006 MAZDA 5 LITERALLY FELL APART AS WE WERE BUCKLING IT. WE HAD THIS VEHICLE IN TO MAZDA TO REPAIR SIMILAR PROBLEM EXACTLY A YEAR AGO. MAZDA IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE WE DISCUSSED IT AT LENGTH. *TR
THE HANDBRAKE ON MY 2006 MAZDA 5 DOES NOT STOP THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS WHEN IT'S PARKED ON AN INCLINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME TWICE NOW. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS PARKED ON A SMALL INCLINE IN A PARKING LOT AND PROCEEDED TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND HIT A CURB CAUSING CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER. THE SECOND TIME IT WAS PARKED AT A STEEPER INCLINE AND AGAIN ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN A VERY LARGE HILL AND FINALLY ENDED UP ON A NEIGHBOR'S LAWN. I AM EXTREMELY FORTUNATE THAT IT DID NOT CAUSE MORE DAMAGE OR INJURY TO THE NUMEROUS CHILDREN THAT PLAY ON THAT STREET. IN BOTH CASES I RETRIEVED THE CAR ONLY TO FIND THAT THE HAND BRAKE WAS ENGAGED AS FAR AS IT COULD BE. THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKE AND THAT I MUST NOT HAVE HAD THE BRAKE PULLED UP ALL THE WAY - OBVIOUSLY THAT WAS NOT THE CASE IN EITHER SITUATION. THE CAR IS STILL UNDER A BUMPER-TO-BUMPER WARRANTY WITH ONLY 20,000 MILES ON IT SO IT'S HARD TO IMAGINE THIS PROBLEM IS RELATED TO WEAR-AND-TEAR. WHEN I FOUND THAT OTHER PEOPLE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MAKE AND YEAR I FELT IT WAS PERTINENT TO FILE A REPORT AS MAZDA DOES NOT SEEM WILLING TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 MAZDA 5 THAT HAS AN ENGINEERING FAULT IN THE SUSPENSION/STEERING SYSTEM. THIS DEFECT LEADS TO INTENSE UNEVEN WEAR IN TIRES,WHICH LEADS TO A HAZARDOUS SITUATION ON THE ROAD. THE DEALERS MASK THE PROBLEMS BY OVERINFLATING THE TIRES (EVEN MORE DANGEROUS) AND MAZDA NORTH AMERICA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE FROM UK CANADA AND USA THAT I'VE COMMUNICATED WITH AND THEY HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCES WITH THEIR MAZDA 5. THE ORIGINAL TOYO TIRES FAILED IN THE FIRST YEAR, A SECOND SET OF TIRES PROVIDED BY MAZDA FAILED AFTER THE FIRST 20000 MILES AND EVEN THE MOST EXPENSIVE HIGH PERFORMANCE TIRES FROM GOODYEAR CAN NOT PROVIDE MORE THAN 2 YEARS OR 20000 MILES OF USAGE. I HAVE GONE TO MULTIPLE DEALERS AND SHOPS, THEY ALL SAY THE ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE ARE OK BUT NO ONE CAN IMPROVE THE TIRE SAFETY SITUATION. I USE THIS CAR TO DRIVE TO WORK AND BACK EVERY DAY AND TO TRANSPORT MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL AND THEIR ACTIVITIES, ABOUT 12000 MILES / YEAR AND I AM AFRAID THAT SOMETHING BAD MIGHT HAPPEN. I DO NOT USE THE CAR FOR COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES AND I AM NOT AN AGGRESSIVE DRIVER. THE CONSTANT REPLACEMENT OF TIRES AND THE EXPENSE INCURRED DID NOT PUT ME IN A SAFER POSITION. ONLY ADDRESSING THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEMS CAN MAKE THIS VEHICLE SAFER FOR ME, MY KIDS AND EVERYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD. I APPRECIATE YOUR TIME AND DILIGENCE IN SOLVING THIS PROBLEM! *TR
ABS AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON WHEN DRIVING IN SNOW. AFTER THE CAR WAS INACTIVE OVER NIGHT, THE LIGHTS DID NOT COME ON START UP THE NEXT DAY. *TR
MY 2006 MAZDA5 SUFFERS FROM UNUSUAL TIRE WEAR. THE INSIDE EDGE TIRES WEARS COMPLETELY DOWN TO THE STEAL BELTS WHILE THE REST OF THE TIRES APPEAR BRAND NEW. EVEN ARE TIRE ALIGNMENT THE READ WHEELS LOOK OUT OF ALIGNMENT WHEN LOOK AT FROM BEHIND. MY TIRES ONLY LAST 5000 TO 7000 MILES BEFORE NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. *TR
THE 2006 MAZDA5 CAUSES EXCESSIVE WEAR ON TIRES QUITE FREQUENTLY. I PURCHASED MY MAZDA5 NEW IN AUGUST 2006, AND SINCE THEN, I'VE HAD TO PURCHASE 2 SETS OF TIRES FOR THIS CAR DUE TO THE TIRES WEARING ON THE INSIDE EDGE. THE 2ND SET OF TIRES THAT WERE REPLACED WERE SO BAD, THAT THE SERVICE PERSON AT THE DEALERSHIP RECOMMEND THAT I DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR OFF THE LOT BECAUSE THE TIRES HARD WORN SO BADLY AND COULD BLOW OUT AT ANY MOMENT. THOSE TIRES HAD ONLY ABOUT 26000 MILES ON THEM! THE LAST SET OF TIRES THAT WAS PURCHASED IN FEBRUARY 2008 ARE NOW BEGINNING TO SHOW THE SAME WEAR ON THE INSIDE EDGES OF ALL TIRES. THESE TIRES HAVE ONLY ABOUT 18000 MILES ON THEM. THE TIRE WEAR OCCURRED EVEN AFTER I HAD THE RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE (ROTATION, BALANCE, ALIGNMENT) PERFORMED. I'VE READ FORUMS ONLINE WHERE SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF THE 2006 MAZDA5 ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I'VE CALLED MAZDA CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SEE IF THE MANUFACTURER HAS REPORTED ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CARS SUSPENSION, TOE, ANGLES, ETC, BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN REPORTED, NOR HAS THE CAR BEEN RECALLED FOR THIS PROBLEM. MAZDA CORP NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING BEFORE SOMEONE GETS TRAGICALLY HURT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. IF I HAD NOT BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER MECHANICAL REASON IN FEBRUARY 2008, I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN THAT MY TIRES HAD WORN SO BADLY, ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED THE TIRES. I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE TIRES, BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE CAR. I'VE HAD 3 DIFFERENT NAME BRAND TIRES ON THIS CAR, SO THE PROBLEM IS DEFINITELY NOT THE TIRES. IT'S THE CAR! *TR
ABS AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS COMMING ON WHEN DRIVING IN SNOW. *TR
I'M DRIVING A 2006 MAZDA5 THAT HAS BEEN THE SUBJECT OF TWO PREVIOUS RECALLS FOR ENGINE OVERHEATING AND CATCHING FIRE DUE TO EXHAUST AND SHODDY LOCKS THAT DO NOT WORK WELL UNDER COLDER WEATHER. THIS MORNING THE CAR HAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT DUE TO A FAULTY MANUFACTURER AC COMPRESSOR AS DIAGNOSED BY SUTHERLIN MAZDA IN BUFORD GA. THE SMOKE AND HEAT FROM THE ENGINE PROMPTED AND IMMEDIATE SHUT DOWN OF THE VEHICLE FOR FEAR OF FIRE AS THE SMOKE WAS ENTERING THE CABIN. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, THE ONLY POSSIBLE POINTS OF FAILURE ARE FAULTY COMPONENT, IMPROPER INSTALLATION (EG MOISTURE OR AIR IN VALVES, TOO MUCH OR TWO LESS OIL --OIL FOR THE COMPRESSOR AND ENGINE ARE NOT THE SAME). UNFORTUNATELY THE MAZDA5 IS SLIGHTLY OUT OF WARRANTY AND MAZDA CORPORATE RECLAIMS THE AC COMPRESSOR WHEN THE NEW ONE IS INSTALLED. AS A RESULT OF THE PART RECLAMATION THERE IS NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE CAUSE FAULTY COMPONENT AND I AM LEFT WITH $2000 WORK OF REPAIRS AS A RESULT. MAZDA CORPORATE IS UNWILLING TO COOPERATE DESPITE UNDER GEORGIA LAW THE CAR IS A LEMON DUE FROM THE FIRST RECALL (REPAIRS TOOK OVER 45 DAYS) AND DESPITE SUTHERLIN MAZDA IN BUFORD, GA POSITIVELY IDENTIFIED THE ISSUE AS A FAILED MANUFACTURER AC COMPRESSOR. MAZDA CORPORATE HAS REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY DATA ON FAILURE RATE OF THE AC COMPRESSORS IN THESE AND OTHER VEHICLES CONTAINING THE SAME MODEL COMPRESSOR. I AM REQUESTING MAZDA CORPORATE COVER THE COST OF PART AND LABOR FOR REQUIRED PARTS & LABOR AS THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2006 MAZDA 5 IN JULY 2007, IN NOVEMBER HAD TO BUY ALL NEW TIRES($618). IN MAY, HAD A FLAT. IN JULY 2008 , THE UNDER GUARD SCREWS FELL OUT AND HAD TO PAY $180 FOR A NEW GUARD, AND THE FRONT STRUTS WERE LEAKING. SEPTEMBER2008 ROTATED THE TIRES BECAUSE OF THE NOISE,WHICH MADE THE NOISES WORSE. THE TIRES HAD UNEVEN WEAR AND CUPPING. ALSO, IN SEPTEMBER 2008, COMPRESSOR AND CLUTCH FAILED BECAUSE OF THE COMPRESSOR. R&R COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY, CLUTCH AND BELT COST ME $1397.40. OCTOBER 2008, THE UNDER GUARD WAS COMING OFF AGAIN AND THE FOUND THE BEARINGS NEED REPLACING. THEY HAD TO ORDER THEM BECAUSE EVERYONE IS GETTING THEM REPLACED. I'M READY TO SELL THIS CAR!. I DID SO LOVE IT. I CAN'T AFFORD CAR PAYMENTS AND ALL THE REPAIRS. *TR
CAR HAS BARELY 18,000 MILES AND NEEDS NEW SHOCKS ALREADY. DEALER IS COVERING UNDER WARRANTY BUT WORRIED ABOUT SAFETY OF THE CAR AND WHAT NEXT? *TR
MY MAZDA 5 IS A LEMON...I HAVE THE RECURRING KNOCKING NOISE AND TIRES THAT WEAR OUT EVERY YEAR. I HAVE BEEN THROW 4 SETS OF TIRES IN LESS THAN THREE YEARS. *TR
I HAVE HAD AND INTERMITTENT ENGINE STUMBLE ON MY 2006 MAZDA5. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE MAZDA DEALERSHIP WITH THE TSB 01-008/08. DEALER STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEREFORE WOULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE PAID THE DEALER OUT OF POCKET TO UPDATE THE PCM FOR MY VEHICLE. *TR
ABNORMAL TIRE WEAR, CUPPING INSIDE REAR TIRES AT 21,000 MILES. DEALER HAS REPLACED THE DEFECTIVE SHOCKS AT 27,000 MILES. THE CAR RARELY HAS MORE THAN FOUR OCCUPANTS AND HAS NEVER BEEN UNDER HEAVY LOAD. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA 5. THE VEHICLE HAS DUNLOP SIGNATURE SPORT, SIZE 205/50/R17 TIRES (NA). WHILE HAVING THE TIRES ROUTINELY SERVICED, THE INSPECTOR NOTICED THAT THE WIRES ON ALL FOUR TIRES WERE STICKING OUT OF THE SIDEWALLS. THE MAZDA DEALER REPLACED TWO TIRES AS A FREE REMEDY AND THE OTHER TWO WERE REPAIRED AT THE CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. THREE MONTHS LATER, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WENT ENTIRELY FLAT. HE THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE SIDEWALL HAD COMPLETELY SPLIT AND WAS NOT ABLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AVAILABLE. ALL FIVE TIRES THAT WERE REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE WERE IDENTICAL. THE TRANSMISSION TYPE WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
ROAD DRY, NO POT HOLES, CLEAN, APPROACHING A RED LIGHT, APPLIED THE BRAKES NO THERE WAS NOTHING. PUSHED HARDER, NOTHING, AGAIN NOTHING. FINALLY WITH MY HAND ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, I REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND JAMMED IT ON AGAIN AND THEY FINALLY CAUGHT. I BARELY MISSED CROSSING TRAFFIC AND WAS ALMOST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. MY SPEED COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE THAN 35 MPH AT THE TIME. *TR
I WAS COMING UP TO A STOP SIGN AND STEPPED ON THE BRAKES AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I TRIED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND FINALLY TROMPED ON THEM AND THE CAR FINALLY STOPOPED. I WAS HALF WAY INTO THE INTERSECTION AND NARROWLY MISSED THE CROSS TRAFFIC. I IMMEDIATELY WHEN TO THE MAZDA DEALER LESS THAN 1/2 MILE DOWN THE ROAD. WHEN THE CHECKED THE CAR THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES OR BRAKING SYSTEM. THEY INQUIRED ABOUT THE ROAD AND IT WAS DRY AND UNBROKEN PAVEMENT (NO POTHOLES). NO ICE OR WATER ON THE ROAD AT THE TIME. I WAS CONCERNED MORE WHEN I LEARNED THAT ANOTHER GENTLEMAN SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM WITH ME WAITING FOR HIS CAR HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HIM THE SAME MORNING. *TR
STARTED WITH A RUBBING NOISE IN SUSPENSION, DEALER SAID IT WAS NOTHING. SEEMED TO GO AWAY BUT RETURNED EARLY IN 2007 AS A CREAKING. TOOK IT IN 3/31/2007 AND THE DEALER SAID THE SWAY BAR BUSHINGS HAD TO BE LUBED. CREAKING RETURNS IN JULY OF 2007. THE DEALER REPLACED THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER/BUSHING AND DAMPER ON ONE SIDE. OCTOBER OF 2007 A KNOCKING CAME FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION. DEALER REPLACED THE FRONT STABILIZER BUSHING AND THE LOWER RIGHT AND LEFT ARMS. JANUARY OF 2008 KNOCKING RETURNS TO THE REAR OF CAR AND FRONT END NOISY. FRONT STABILIZER BUSHINGS REPLACED. RIGHT REAR STUD THAT HOLDS THE DAMPER FAILED. REMAINING PORTION HAD TO BE BURNED OUT AND A NEW STUD WELDED ON. CRUNCHING NOISE FROM FRONT END SOON AFTER PICKING UP CAR. I FEAR THAT THIS CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE TO PUT MY WIFE OR FOUR KIDS INTO. I ONLY DRIVE IT ALONE WHEN POSSIBLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 MAZDA5. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK. THE CONTACT POURED HOT WATER ON THE DOOR. WHILE DRIVING IN REVERSE AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE DOOR OPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V463000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES:DOORS:LATCH). THE CONTACT RETURNED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE DOORS WERE WORKING AND REPLACED ALL OF THE DOOR LOCKS. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT UNLESS THE VEHICLE COULD BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER WITH THE LOCKS FROZEN, THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO ASSIST. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 27,000.
I RECENTLY NOTICED SEVERE WEAR ON THE INSIDE SHOULDERS OF BOTH REAR TIRES ON MY 2006 MAZDA 5. LOOKING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, THE REAR TIRES APPEAR TO LEAN IN AT THE TOP. I BELIEVE THE FAILURE OF THE TIRES TO CORRECTLY CONTACT THE ROAD CONTRIBUTES TO POOR HANDLING, AND THE SEVERE TIRE WEAR WILL LEAD TO UNEXPECTED BLOW-OUTS. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN NOV. 2005 AND CURRENTLY HAS 23,000 MILES. IT HAS NOT BEEN WRECKED OR OTHERWISE ABUSED IN A MANNER WHICH WOULD AFFECT THE REAR ALIGNMENT. THE DEALER HAS REFUSED TO REPAIR OR ALIGN THE VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY WHEN PRESENTED THIS PROBLEM ON OCT. 30, 2007. I HAVE SEEN SIMILAR ISSUES LOGGED UNDER SUSPENSION AND TIRES ON THIS SITE. *TR
I HAVE ALSO HAD EXCESSIVE TIRE WEAR ON TOYO PROXES 205/50/17. THE TIRES ARE WEARING ON THE INSIDE, ALMOST TO THE POINT OF THE BELTS SHOWING. THERE ARE APPROXIMATELY 26,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND I HAVE PERSONALLY ROTATED THE TIRES FOUR TIMES. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN ROARING ALMOST WHEEL BEARING LIKE NOISES FOR THE LAST 15,000+ MILES. TIRE PRESSURE IS ALWAYS PROPERLY MAINTAINED.
HI! I HAVE A MAZDA5 2006, LAST WEEK I ALMOST HAVE AN ACCIDENT ,ONE OF MY BACK TIRES EXPLODED,WHEN MY HUSBAND CAME TO HELP ME HE WAS SURPRISE TO SEE THE TIRE THE OUTSIDE LOOK BRAND NEW BUT THE INSIDE WAS ALL BROKEN AND WASTED ,I WENT TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM THAT THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TIRES, WHICH IS NOT SAFE THEY SHOULD HAVE A RECALL BECAUSE IT LOOKS I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM, THE DEALER ONCE THEY HAVE THE MONEY THEY DO NOT WANT TO BOTHER, KNOWING THAT THEY BEEN HAVING THAT SAME PROBLEM WITH OTHER PEOPLE ,THEY TRY TO BLAME IT ON YOU,PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT I'M A MOTHER OF FOUR KIDS MY LITTLE ONE IS ONLY TWO, AND THEY ARE ALL THE TIME RUNNING WITH ME ,PLEASE FIND OUT IF THERE ARE MORE COMPLAINT OF THE SAME PROBLEM. I WASTED LIKE $600.00 TRYING TO FIX IT AND I STILL HAVE TO CHANGE THE OTHER 2 BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL WASTED TOO. *TR
I OWN A 2006 MAZDA 5 I HAVE HAD THE TIRES BALANCED 4 TIMES AND THE FRONT END ALIGNMENT CHECKED, MY TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO EXCESSIVE CUPPING ON ALL FOUR TIRES, I HAVE HAD THE TIRES BALANCED AT LEAST FOUR TIMES, THEY HAD JUST OVER 29,000 MILES, THE TIRE SIZE IS 205/50VR 17 (TOYO). I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE TIRES THIS EARLY, AND NEEDLESS TO SAY THESE TIRES ARE EXPENSIVE, I WAS JUST WONDERING IF YOU HAVE HAD ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC TIRE SIZE AND MANUFACTURER. *TR
I BOUGHT THE MAZDA ITS NOT BEEN EVEN A YEAR YET AND HAD I'VE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 6 TIMES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. WHEN MY MAZDA 5 SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND OR 2ND TO 3RD IT SOMETIMES HESITATES AND HAD STALLED A HANDFUL OF TIMES MAZDA STILL HAS NOT FIX AND OR FOUND A SOLUTION FOR MY PROBLEM. *AK
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING VEHICLE, NOTICED WHEELS SLIPPED ON RAINY DAYS. ASKED DEALER ABOUT LACK OF TRACTION, ESPECIALLY WHEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE, THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND SAID IT WAS DUE TO THE POWER OF THE ENGINE. SOME CUSTOMERS HAD THE SAME COMPLAINT, OTHERS DIDN'T. AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS, I DEFINITELY DID NOT FEEL THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE FOR MY TEENAGERS TO DRIVE, AS THE LACK OF TRACTION ON WET ROADS WAS A SAFETY CONCERN. ASKED DEALER TO SWITCH TIRES, WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT THE TIRE MANUFACTURER IF IT WAS A TIRE DEFECT, BUT THIS WAS THE PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR. CONTACTED MAZDA CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHO ALSO WOULD NOT ADDRESS THIS SAFETY COMPLAINT AND TOLD ME I COULD PURCHASE DIFFERENT TIRES. BROUGHT TO A SECOND DEALERSHIP TO ASK ABOUT ISSUE, SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THIS WAS DUE TO A TURBO IN THE ENGINE CREATING ALOT OF POWER AT LOW GEARS. I WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY TURBO...MECHANIC SUGGESTED THE TRACTION CONTROL MODEL WOULD HAVE HELPED THIS ISSUE..THERE IS NO TRACTION CONTROL MODEL AVAILABLE, AS FAR AS I KNOW. I LIKE MANY THINGS ABOUT THIS CAR, BUT REALLY FEEL THIS LOSS OF TRACTION UPON ACCELERATION WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT--WE LIVE ON A BUSY ROAD AND TIMING IS CRUCIAL TO PULL OUT OF OUR DRIVEWAY. WE HAVE OWNED OVER 15 CARS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS LACK OF SAFETY ON A VEHICLE--EVEN ON THE TURBOS WE HAVE OWNED! THIS IS A NEW MODEL, AND I THINK MORE PEOPLE WILL NOTICE THE TIRES SLIPPING AS MORE OF THESE ARE SOLD. I WISH THERE WAS A TRACTION CONTROL OPTION, OR THAT MAZDA WOULD HAVE AGREED TO TRY DIFFERENT TIRES. WE HAVE 5500 MILES ON THE CAR AND I DO NOT WANT MY TEENS IN IT ON RAINY OR SNOWY DAYS. *NM
TIRES-PREMATURE WEAR. TIRES BECOME CUPPED. I HAVE DRIVEN THE VEHICLE FOR 26,000 MILES AND HAD TO REPLACE ALL TIRES AT 21,000 DUE TO NOISE. PROBLEM WAS FIRST REPORTED AT 17,000 MILES. I HAVE 5,000 ON THE NEW TIRES AND THE NOISE IS BACK. NOISE SOUNDS JUST LIKE BAD BEARINGS. DEALER SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND CAN NOT EXPLAIN THE REASON FOR THE ABNORMAL TIRE WEAR. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING 25 MPH ON DRY ROAD CONDITIONS, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING, AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THIS OCCURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. THE FIRST TIME, THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND DETERMINED THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ON 08/16/06, THE STABILIZER BAR BUSHINGS WERE REPLACED. ON 10/21/06, WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, AND THE VEHICLE WENT DOWN AN EMBANKMENT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE BACK, ARM AND HEAD. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS CONTACTED, AND DEEMED THE VEHICLE TOTALED. PICTURES AND A POLICE REPORT WERE TAKEN.*AK UPDATED 11/17/06. *JB
I AM THE OWNER OF A MAZDA5- MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I PARKED MY CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY AND ENGAGED THE BRAKE. MY DAUGHTER RE-ENTERED THE CAR ABOUT 1 HOUR LATER, AS SHE GOT IN THE CAR AND SAT DOWN SHE FELT IT MOVE AND HOPPED OUT. THE CAR ROLLED DOWN OUR DRIVEWAY HIT A TREE WITH THE DOOR STILL OPEN AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER CAR. I AM NOT SURE IF THE BRAKE WAS COMPLETELY ENGAGED OR IT JUST FAILED. I HAVE PHOTOS OF THE ACCIDENT. THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED IN THE PHOTO. THE ENTIRE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE RIGHT SIDE AND DOOR WERE MANGLED BY THE TREE. THE BACK BUMPER WAS DAMAGED BY INPACT TO A PARKED CAR IN MY NEIGHBORS YARD. *NM
WHILE DRIVING, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND ENGINE DIES. VEHICLE IS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND WILL NOT START. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO NEAREST DEALER, BUT TECHS HAVE ALREADY LEFT FOR THE DAY. VEHICLE IS LEFT AT THE DEALER OVERNIGHT. THE NEXT DAY, I AM INFORMED THAT PROBLEM IS BAD PCM. MODULE NEEDS TO BE SHIPPED OVERNIGHT. INCIDENT HAPPENED THURSDAY. PART WON'T ARRIVE UNTIL SATURDAY, SO VEHICLE WON'T BE READY UNTIL MONDAY. IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. *NM
PURCHASED VEHICLE ON 02/10/2006-VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 3K MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REPLACED. DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION CASING DID NOT SEAL CORRECTLY AND THAT IS THE REASON VEHICLE WAS LEAKING AND THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION ON VEHICLE. *NM
VEHICLE -2006 MAZDA 3- WAS INVOLVED IN A REAR ENDER TRAFFIC ACCIDENT. THE DRIVER'S SEAT FAILED TO MAINTAIN ITS HEIGHT POSITION CAUSING THE DRIVER'S SEAT TO DROP ABRUPTLY.*JB
PURCHASED A NEW MAZDA5 CAR FROM BROWNING MAZDA IN CERRITOS, CALIFORNIA. SHORTLY THEREAFTER, WE RECEIVED A VOLUNTARY RECALL NOTICE FROM MAZDA, REQUESTING THAT WE BRING OUR CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND PARK IT "FOR UP TO 30 DAYS" WHILE MAZDA FIGURED OUT HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM. CARS WERE CATCHING ON FIRE WHEN DRIVEN AT 60 MPH IN 2ND GEAR FOR EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME, WITH THE PROBLEM BEING WITH THE REAR MUFFLER OVERHEATING AND CATCHING FIRE. WE TOOK OUR CAR IN, AND GOT A FREE LOANER FROM ENTERPRISE RENTAL CARS. BUT AS NO MORE INFO WAS RECEIVED FROM THE DEALER REGARDING HOW MUCH LONGER WE WOULD BE WITHOUT OUR CAR, AFTER A MONTH AND SOME WEEKS WE RETRIEVED OUR CAR AND DROVE IT HOME. THIS WAS TWO WEEKS AGO, AND WE HAVE YET TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION FROM MAZDA, AS WE WERE PROMISED, TO BRING IT IN FOR THE RECALL KIT TO BE INSTALLED. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT, THEY SAID SOME CARS HAD BEEN FIXED, AND THAT HE WOULD CALL ME IF THE SPECIFIC KIT FOR MY CAR CAME IN, SO THAT I COULD BRING IT IN AGAIN. IT STILL HAS NOT HAPPENED. *NM
MAZDA DEALER SOLD ME A MAZDA 5 THAT WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE SOLD. DEALER HAS PUT ME AT RISK AND MISINFORMED THE NHTSA ABOUT SUSPENDING SALES!!! *NM
