DRIVE BY WIRE .WHEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON IT DRAGS U THREW RED LIGHTS. UNLESS U PUT IN NEUTRAL. IDLES TOO HIGH NOT DISENGAGING THE TQ.CONVERTER .
THE MANUAL LOCK DOWN LEAVER FOR THE STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT HOLD THE STEERING WHEEL IN PLACE ,THIS ALLOWS THE STEERING WHEEL TO COME LOOSE WHILE DRIVING WHICH MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL THE STEERING OF THE CAR I HAVE ALMOST RAN INTO OTHER CARS WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS AND STREETS.

AS I WAS DRIVING MY FAMILY TO THE LAKE I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHEN I PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY THE ENGINE DIED AND THERE WAS A LOT OF SMOKE COMING OUT OF IT WHEN I INSPECTED IT AFTER IT WAS SAFE TO INSPECT I NOTICED THERE WAS ZERO OIL IN THE MOTOR

CAR SHUT DOWN WHILE DRIVING
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
THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND MY CAR WAS TOTAL IN A FRONT END COLLISION WHILE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET WHEN ENGAGING INTO A TURN.

VEHICLE CONSUMES AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF OIL CREATING A HAZARD FOR BOTH VEHICLE OWNER OF POSSIBLE FIRE AND FOR SURROUNDING DRIVERS DUE TO THICK SMOKE CREATED. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF AND HAS A RECALL CAMPAIGN AVAILABLE IF YOU STILL ARE WITHIN WARRANTEE PERIOD, BUT NOT IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE THAT PERIOD EVEN THOUGH IT'S NO LESS A SAFETY ISSUE.
THIS SPECIFIC 2006 NISSAN SENTRA SE-R SPEC-V AS WELL AS THE 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA BOTH USE THE SAME QR25DE ENGINES WITCH THESE ENGINES ARE HIGHLY PRONE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AT RAPID RATES. MY VEHICLE HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE IT COMSUMES A QT OF OIL EVERY 150 MILES OR SO. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT CAN LEAD TO ENGINE FIRES BECAUSE OF A FAILURE TO COOL THE ENGINE WHILE IT IS ON. THIS CAN ALSO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANTLY LARGE PLOOM OF GREY/BLUE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST BECAUSE OF LARGE AMOUNTS OF OIL BEING BURNED. THIS LARGE CLOUD OF EXHAUST ALMOST ACTS AS A SMOKE SCREEN TO DRIVERS BEHIND ME SOMETIMES BLOCKING VISION BECAUSE IT CAN BE SO LARGE, AS WELL AS ITS TOXIC IMPACTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT. IN CONCLUSION A FIRE HAZARD COUPLED WITH A LARGE TOXIC CLOUD IS A GROUND TO HAVE ALL NISSAN VEHICLES WITH THE QR25DE ENGINES WITH THE PRODUCTION YEARS OF 2006 AND BELOW TO BE RECALLED AS IT CAN BE POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. THE TOP PART OF THE PHOTO IS PROOF AS IT WAS WRITTEN UP BY A VADEN NISSAN DEALERSHIP MECHANIC.
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA S 1.8 L. I HAD THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR REPLACED A MONTH AGO DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE LOSING POWER. IT HAPPENS MOSTLY AFTER THE ENGINE HAS REACHED A CERTAIN LEVEL OF HEAT. MY ISSUE RETURNED ONLY A FEW DAYS LATER AFTER THE REPLACEMENT. IT WILL COME CLOSE TO SHUTTING OFF SITTING AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT. IT WILL ALSO LOSE ACCELERATION OVER 3000 RPM. IT WILL STOP RUNNING IF LEFT IN IDLE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. I NOTICED A SIMILAR RECALL ON THE 2.5L VERSION OF THE SAME VEHICLE. I CONTACTED NISSAN TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL AND THEY REFUSED TO COVER IT. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME MODEL AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND CPS MANY TIMES TO NO AVAIL. I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE IN THIS CAR THAT COULD EASILY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE RECALL THAT AFFECTS THE SIMILAR 2.5L VERSION OF THE MODEL. MY VEHICLE IS AT 139,890 MILES. IT HAS HAD THE SENSOR REPLACED AT AROUND 75,000 MILES AND AROUND 100,000 MILES.
THE LINING IN THE TRUNK IS DECOMPOSING CREATING AN ODOR THAT IS SMELLED IN THE DRIVER/PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE CAR. I AS THE ONLY DRIVER HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH XYLENE EXPOSURE. THIS IS THE MOST LIKELY AND PROBABLY ONLY SOURCE OF XYLENE IN MY LIFE.
I HAVE A CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR PROBLEM IN MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA 1.8S WHICH KILLS THE ENGINE. WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE MAY SHUT OFF VERY ABRUPTLY WITHOUT WARNING. EVEN WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE MAY CUT OFF. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY VIN DIDN'T QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT'S WITHIN THE MANUFACTURE DATE RANGE FOR THE RECALL. I EVEN EMAILED THE NISSAN CORPORATE OFFICE. IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE AND PART OF A RECALL BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I GET IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT FIXED. WHEN I CALLED THE NISSAN DEALER, I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS THE 3RD PERSON THAT HAD CALLED THAT DAY WITH THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM AND NEITHER OR THE PREVIOUS PEOPLE WERE "PART OF THE RECALL" EITHER. I WONDER HOW MANY ACCIDENTS IT'LL TAKE BEFORE NISSAN WILL ACTUALLY HONOR THE RECALL.

THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN NTB05-052A. I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA 1.8S AUGUST 26, 2006. THE SUMMER OF 2007 I STARTED EXPERIENCING THE "LONG ENGINE CRANK TIME BEFORE START" ISSUE, AND HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE EVERY SUMMER SINCE (BUT ONLY DURING THE SUMMER). I CURRENTLY HAVE APPROXIMATELY 54,000 MILES ON MY NISSAN AND JUST RECENTLY LEARNED ABOUT THE SERVICE BULLETIN THAT WAS PUT OUT SEPTEMBER 8, 2006. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS BULLETIN ADVISING ME OF WHAT TO DO, EVEN AFTER INQUIRES OF MY ISSUE AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. NISSAN NO LONGER SELLS THE REPAIR KIT (WHICH I'M LEARNING WASN'T A GUARANTEE FIX) AND I WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO BUY A WHOLE NEW FUEL PUMP (THAT NISSAN HAS SUPPOSEDLY REDESIGNED). THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FUEL PUMP ITSELF, BUT RATHER A "FAULTY" PART INSIDE OF THE FUEL PUMP. NISSAN SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING "FAULTY" PARTS AND ALSO KEEPING THOSE PARTS AVAILABLE AS LONG AS THAT PARTICULAR YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLE ARE ON THE ROAD.
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 60MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA ( SE 1.8) GAVE A SMALL JERK AND THE RPMS REDUCED DRASTICALLY. I ALSO BEGAN TO LOSE MY STEERING AND NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER, I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT WAS FINE. THEN LATER THAT NIGHT AS I WAS SITTING WITH THE ENGINE AT AN IDLE, THE CAR SUDDENLY DIED BUT IT DID STARTED BACK UP. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC AND IT DIED 2 OR 3 TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. THE MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AND THE CAR DIDN'T THROW A CODE. I BROUGHT THE CAR HOME AND PARKED IT BECAUSE I DO NOT FEELING SAFE DRIVING IT. TONIGHT I SAT IN THE CAR AND TURNED IT ON TO SEE IF IT WOULD START. IT DID START BUT EVERY SECOND OR SO THERE WAS AN LOUD CLICK FROM THE ENGINE AFTER WHICH THE CAR WOULD GIVE A SIZEABLE SHUDDER. ALSO THE RPMS REV'D WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL OR PARK. THEY WOULD DIP WHEN THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. I SEE ON THE WEB THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE CAMSHAFT AND CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. I HAVEN'T CALLED NISSAN YET BUT AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE I HAVE NO HOPE THEY WILL HONOR THE RECALL AS MY VIN ISN'T INCLUDED. I HOPE SOMEONE AT THE NHTSA FORCES AN EXPANDED RECALL. IT ISN'T RIGHT THAT THOSE OF US HAVING PROBLEMS HAVE TO PAY FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM. IN ADDITION, MY CAR IS NOW SITTING BECAUSE I'M SCARED OF DRIVING IT JUST TO HAVE IT DIE, CAUSING ME TO LOSE STEERING AND POSSIBLY BRAKES. I WILL LET MY MECHANIC KNOW ABOUT THE RECALL TO SEE IF IN THE END, MY CAR IS ALSO ONE OF THOSE UNLUCKY ONES THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUE BUT DON'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL.
I OWN A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND WHEN I WAS WAITING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE GEAR SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL AFTER I SLIGHTLY BUMPED AGAINST THE GEAR SHIFT WITH MY ARM. WHEN I CHECKED TO CONFIRM THAT IT COULD BE MOVED WITHOUT ENGAGING THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE GEAR SHIFT I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT FROM ONE GEAR TO ANOTHER WITHOUT ENGAGING THE BUTTON. IT APPEARED THAT THE VEHICLES GEAR SHIFT WAS ONLY DESIGNED TO CHANGE GEARS WHEN THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE GEAR SHIFT WAS ENGAGED. THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE POTENTIAL FOR A CRASH IF THE GEAR SHIFT CAN EASILY BE WITHOUT ENGAGING THE BUTTON THAT WAS INTENDED FOR THAT FUNCTION. THE 5-CD DISC PLAYER HAS ALSO STOPPED FUNCTIONING TO THE POINT WHERE I AM UNABLE TO REMOVE THE CDS THAT ARE LODGED INSIDE THE PLAYER. I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT THEY HAVE MELTED INSIDE AND THAT IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE. I HAVE NOT NOTIFIED THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER OF THESE FAILURES AT THIS TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FRONTAL PASSENGER AIR BAG DEPLOYED AND SHATTERED THE WINDSHIELD. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY LOST ENGINE POWER AND CAR SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY. AFTER WAITING APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES THE CAR RESTARTED. THERE WERE A TOTAL OF THREE DIFFERENT INCIDENTS ( SO FAR) OF THIS HAPPENING TO MY CAR. I HAD IT CHECKED BY A MECHANIC AND NOTHING COULD BE FOUND TO BE WRONG ( NO CODES CAME UP). I DID SOME RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED THAT NISSAN HAD RECALLED VEHICLES FOR THE SAME ISSUE ( CAM SHAFT AND CRANK SENSORS OVERHEATING) . I CALLED NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE APPEARS TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE IT IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. HOWEVER, IT IS PART OF THE MASSIVE AIRBAG RECALL WHICH MAKES THIS EVEN MORE OF A DEADLY CONCERN..NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL ALL VIN NUMBERS THAT ARE HAVING THIS SHUT OFF ISSUE. WHEN I CALLED THEY WERE VERY STANDOFFISH AND UNHELPFUL. I AM NOT IN A POSITION TO PAY FOR COSTLY REPAIRS ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND RECALLED BY NISSAN....UPDATED 08/25/15*BF THE CONSUMER HAS SINCE TRADED THE VEHICLE. MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA HAS DELAYED CRANKING WHEN TRYING TO START, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE. TRIED A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT MECHANICS BUT COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW IN APRIL 2006, AND STARTED HAVING PROBLEM SINCE 2009/2010 WITH LESS THAN 30,000 MILES, INCLUDING ALL BELTS NEEDING REPLACEMENT AT 15,000 MILES THAT DEALER CHARGED FOR NON-WARRANTY REPAIR. I WAS GOING BACK TO WORK AFTER EATING LUNCH DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH AND ENGINE JUST STALLED AND QUITE RUNNING, THIS HAPPENED IN A WORK ZONE WHERE THEY WERE REPAIRING ROAD. I TRIED TO START CAR AND IT WOULD NOT START, HAD TO WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES THEN CAR STARTED BUT WHEN I STARTED TO DRIVE, IT STALLED AGAIN AND DID IT TWICE UNTIL I GOT IT RUNNING LONG ENOUGH TO GET IT TO SHELL STATION. WHEN WE GOT IT TO THE MECHANIC SHOP THEY SAID IT WAS THE CRANK SHAFT SENSOR AND THE CAM SENSOR THAT HAS FAILED. THEY TOLD US THAT NISSAN CARS ARE BAD ABOUT DOING THIS. I WAS IN A DANGEROUS SPOT WITH LOTS OF TRAFFIC AND ROAD CONSTRUCTION FOR THIS TO HAPPEN AND THERE COULD OF BEEN A BAD ACCIDENT OVER THIS BUT THANKFULLY THERE WAS NOT. ALSO ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR IS IT HAS DELAYED CRANKING WHEN TRYING TO START CAR IN SUMMERTIME WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED ABOUT FIVE YEARS AGO AND WAS NOT AWARE OF THE PROBLEMS PEOPLE WERE HAVING WITH IT STALLING OUT LIKE THAT. *TR
TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON I-10 BETWEEN COTTONDALE, FL AND FT. WALTON, FL IN TRAFFIC, THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. HIGHWAY TYPE-INTERSTATE- 4 LANE DIVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE LEFT LANE. IT WENT INTO THE MEDIAN, CAME BACK INTO THE MAIN TRAVEL LANES BETWEEN TRAFFIC, ROTATED 360 DEGREES, THEN WENT OFF OF THE MAIN TRAVEL LANES ONTO THE RIGHT SHOULDER WHERE IT CAME TO A STOP. EVEN THOUGH THIS OCCURRED IN TRAFFIC, THERE WAS NO IMPACT AND NO INJURY TO THE OCCUPANTS. ONE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE IS COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE, AND THE OTHER SIDEWALL PARTIALLY SEPARATED. THE AIR PRESSURE ON THE TIRE WAS CHECKED JUST PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE TRIP. THE CONDITION OF THE TIRE WAS CHECKED PRIOR TO THE TRIP AND THE TIRE APPEARED TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE TREAD AND GENERAL CONDITION OF THE FAILED TIRE SHOW NO EVIDENCE OF PRIOR DAMAGE OR PUNCTURE. THE 2 REAR TIRES HAD BEEN REPLACED IN 2010 OR 2011. THE SPARE WAS INSTALLED AND THE CAR WAS DRIVEN TO THE NEAREST SERVICE CENTER WHERE ALL 4 TIRES WERE REPLACED. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE RIM. THE FAILED TIRE IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. *TR

THE FOLLOWING COMPLAINT IS CONCERNING NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 07V527000 AND #06V223000 BOTH OF THESE RECALLS DEAL WITH THE AUTOMOBILE I OWN, A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA, WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN MAY 2006. I HAVE BEEN HAVING MAJOR ISSUES OUT OF THE CRANKSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT SENSORS IN THE VEHICLE AND OIL INTAKE OVER THE LAST 18 MONTHS. THE CAR WOULD DIE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND BECAME VERY HARD TO START AS WELL AS THE OIL INTAKE BECAME EXCESSIVE. AFTER 3 VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIPS AS WELL AS 3 VISITS TO LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOPS WITH ONLY TEMPORARY FIXES, I WAS AT LAST INFORMED AROUND MID DECEMBER 2012 BY ONE OF THE MECHANICS AT THE LOCAL SHOP THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON SIMILAR VEHICLES. I LOOKED THE INFORMATION UP AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THERE WAS A RECALL IN 2006 AND 2007 ON 2006 NISSAN SENTRAS. AFTER SPEAKING WITH NORTH AMERICAN NISSAN I LEARNED THAT THE RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC AND MY CAR, WHILE BEING THE SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR AS THE VEHICLES RECALLED, WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I SPOKE WITH A REGIONAL MANAGER OFF AND ON FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS WHO INFORMED ME IN THE END THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I EVEN HAD A DIAGNOSTIC RAN AT THE NORTH LITTLE ROCK NISSAN DEALERSHIP ON DECEMBER 21, 2012 THAT STATES "CRANKSHAFT, CAMSHAFT SENSORS MALFUNCTIONING BUT IN GOOD CONDITION, OIL EXTREMELY LOW(WHICH I JUST HAD IT CHANGED A FEW MONTHS AGO), AND POSSIBLE ECM PROBLEM...ALL THINGS STATED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS SPECIFIC AUTOMOBILE REGARDLESS OF VIN NUMBER. *TR

THE ENGINEER DETERMINED THAT THE CRASH DID NOT MEET THE SPECIFICATIONS FOR AIR BAGS DEPLOYMENT AND STATED TO THE CONTACT THAT THERE WAS NO DEFECT FOUND WITHIN THE AIR BAGS OR THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000. UPDATED 01/25//12 *BF THE PASSENGER WAS ALSO INJURED. 03/05/12
ALL OF THE TIRES WERE BOUGHT IN DECEMBER, 2010. ONE OF THE NEW TIRES HAD A DEFECT TWO MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE THAT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED; IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. RECENTLY, SPECIFICALLY ON NOVEMBER 14, 2011, ANOTHER TIRE BLEW WHILE ON A HIGHWAY (WITH 55 MPH SPEED LIMIT). *TR

I HAD PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2010. WHEN I HAD PURCHASED IT, IT SEEMED TO HAVE A BARRING PROBLEM, OR A BRAKE PROBLEM. IT KEPT SHAKING, AND MAKING A THUMP-SOUND. IT KEPT PULLING, WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES. ABOUT MARCH 2011, I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN, MY CAR WAS SHAKING SO MUCH, THAT I HAD TO PULL OVER. IT BLEW MY ENTIRE RIM AND TIRE OFF. I GOT A TOW TRUCK AND BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC, HAD TO PURCHASE A NEW TIRE AND RIM. ABOUT A COUPLE MONTHS LATER, I NOTICED THE PULLING IN THE BRAKES AGAIN,IT WAS GETTING WORSE, SO I BROUGHT IT BACK TO MY MECHANIC, AND HE CHECKED OUT THE WHOLE CAR. HE NOTICED THAT THEIR WAS BRAKING FLUID LEAKING, AND THAT IT NEEDS NEW BRAKE PADS. I HAD MY CAR FOR 7 MONTHS, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I NEED NEW BRAKE PADS. HE SAID IT SHOULDN'T OF PASSED THE SAFETY. MY DAD AND HIS LAWYER LOOKED AT THE SAFETY AND E TESTED PAPERS, AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS FORGED, SO IT PROBABLY WASN'T A PROPER SAFETY. I AM PLANNING TO GIVE THE CAR BACK, AS IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A PROPER SAFETY. *KB
WHEN I TRY TO START MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA SER IT REPEATLY TURNS OVER EVEN WHEN THERE IS A FULL TANK OF GAS. I HAVE STOP AND START IT OVER AND OVER TO GET TO TO KEY UP. AT FIRST IT WAS HERE AND THERE NOW IT IS EVERYDAY EVERYTIME I TRY TO TURN ON THE CAR. I CALLED ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD I MAY NEED A TUNE UP, MY CAR JUST HIT 50,000 MILES. I HAVE READ OVER THE MANUFACTUR BOOK GIVEN AT PURCHASE TO SEE IF THEY IS ANY INFORMATION AVAILABLE ABOUT THIS. I DO HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MY CAR, BUT RIGHT NOW I JUST TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON. I FOUND THIS WEBSITE AND SAW OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. *TR
2006 NISSAN SENTRA ON A SNOWY ICY ROAD, I MADE A LEFT TURN, VERY SLOWLY, AND THE VEHICLE SLOWLY SKIDDED INTO THE CURB WITH THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE LEADING THE WAY. I DIDN'T THINK THERE WOULD BE SO MUCH DAMAGE WITH THE 2-3MPH SKID. VEHICLE HAD BROKEN RIGHT FRONT AXLE, SWAY BAR, RIGHT STRUT AND RIGHT WHEEL. *TR

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE PERFORMANCE WAS BUMPY. THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE SIDEWALL EXHIBITED TREAD SEPARATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE DEFECTIVE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS IN THE PROCESS OF INSPECTING THE OTHER THREE TIRES FOR POSSIBLE DEFECTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,303.
ENGINE LIGHT IS ON THEN REALIZED THAT I WAS HAVING PROBLEM GETTING FUEL INTO GAS TANK. ONCE OPENING THE GAS CAP A GUSH OF GAS FUMES COMES OUT. CAN NOT GET GAS IN TANK WITH OUT GAS PUMP CUTTING OFF ALL THE TIME. IT TAKES FOR EVER TO GET GAS INTO TANK. VEHICLE TAKEN TO NISSAN DEALER THEY TOLD ME IT WAS GAS TANK AND THAT A SIMILAR PROBLEM WAS DISCOVERED ON ANOTHER MODEL A RECALL WAS DONE ON THAT MODEL NOT ON MY VEHICLE MODEL. THEY EXPECT ME TO PAY 100.00 FOR NEW GAS TANK. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE FACT THE RUSH OF GAS FUME PRESSURE THAT RUSHES OUT WHEN FUEL CAP IS OPEN TO REFUEL VEHICLE. DEALER STATES THAT FUEL TANK SENSOR IS CAUSING PROBLEM. *TR
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND NOW THE VEHICLE MISSES WHILE DRIVING AND IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO START. THE RESULTING ERROR MESSAGE IS P0335 CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR ERROR. THERE IS A RECALL ISSUED FOR 2006 NISSAN SENTRAS AND THEY ARE SAYING MY VIN IS NOT COVERED. THE NHTSA ACTION NUMBER IS RQ06001 NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 07V527000 COMPONENT: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH WITH PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE BRAKES THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED EXCESSIVELY. THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD UNTIL IT WAS SHIFTED INTO PARK GEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES DID NO FUNCTION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 96,000. I WAS INVOLVED IN A COLLISION RECENTLY WHERE I ENDED UP UNDER THE CAB OF A DELIVERY TRUCK. I AM NOT SURE, BUT MY SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 30-40MPH. I HIT THE BRAKES WHEN I REALIZED THE TRUCK WAS GOING THROUGH AND INTERSECTION, HOWEVER IT HAD BEEN RAINING AND I SLID RIGHT UNDERNEATH IT. MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR
OUR 2006 NISSAN SENTRA SPILLS GAS OUT THE FILLER HOLE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REFILL. IT HAS COME GUSHING OUT SPRAYING ME AND CREATING A VERY HAZARDOUS SITUATION WITH FUEL ON MYSELF AND SPILLED AT THE FUEL PUMP. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND HAVE LEARNED IT IS NOT AN UNUSUAL PROBLEM, BUT ONE THAT I FEEL THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. *TR
A FEW WEEKS AGO MY CAR'S ENGINE STARTED DOING A STUTTERING THING WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR HIGHWAY. IT WOULD JUST DO IT OUT OF NO WHERE AND IT FELT LIKE THE ENGINE WAS ABOUT TO SHUT OFF BUT IT KEPT GOING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER AND IT SHOWS CRANK POSITION SENSOR. I SEARCHED FOR THIS ONLINE AND FOUND THIS WAS A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE YEAR, MODEL AND ENGINE TYPE. IT STATED THAT IT COULD CAUSE THE ENGINE TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALING EXPECTING TO HAVE THIS FIXED UNDER THE RECALL BUT WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE'S VIN WAS NOT ON THE LIST OF AFFECTED VEHICLES AND IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED. MY ENGINE IS STILL DOING THE STUTTER THING BECAUSE I HAVE NOT HAD IT FIXED YET AND THE MANUFACTURER WILL NOT FIX IT UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY SAY MY VEHICLE WAS NOT AFFECTED EVEN THOUGH IT OBVIOUSLY WAS AFFECTED. *TR
AFTER DRIVING MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA 1.8, WHEN YOU TRY TO RESTART IT WITHIN A COUPLE HOURS IT IS VERY HARD TO START AND IT IS GETTING MORE DIFFICULT TO START. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP. THE PROBLEM GOT BETTER BUT NOW IT HAS RETURNED. NISSAN AND THE DEALER ARE ACTING AS THOUGH THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM BE THERE ARE NUMEROUS CASES REPORTED ON THE INTERNET CONCERNING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER WANTS TO CHARE ME $99 TO RUN A TEST BUT I AM SURE THEY ALREADY KNOW, IF NOT THEY NEED TO CHECK THE INTERNET. *TR
I HAVE A NISSAN 2006 SENTRA 1.8. WHEN REFUELING, GAS POURS BACK OUT OF THE GAS TANK, EVEN WHEN ON EMPTY. NISSAN HAS PUBLISHED A SERVICE BULLETIN ABOUT A VENT CONTROL VALVE REPLACEMENT (USING A NEW STYLE VENT CONTROL VALVE). I CONTACTED NISSAN AND THE PARTS & LABOR WILL TOTAL APPROXIMATELY $350 FOR A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE SUCH AS THIS; ANY SPARK WOULD SURELY IGNITE THE DRIVER AND PROBABLY AUTO; THEY ARE UNWILLING TO SEND ME THE PART AT THIS POINT & I STILL CAN'T USE THE VEHICLE- THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS. *TR
MY 06 NISSAN SENTRA, THAT I PURCHASED TO REPLACE THE TAURUS THAT THE FRAME FAILED HAS A PROB. WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL-- WHEN IN CRUISE, GOING DOWN THE ROAD, WHEN IT NEEDS TO KEEP UP TO SPEED, IT SHIFTS DOWN TWO GEARS, INSTEAD OF ONE, AND THE SPEED INCREASES FASTER THAN IT SHOULD, AND THEN IT SHIFTS UP ONE GEAR, THEN BACK TO DRIVE-- THERE TIMES WHEN IF THE DRIVER IS NOT USED TO IT-IT GAINS ON THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT, FASTER THAN ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE DRIVEN, AND IF THE DRIVER IS NOT VERY ATTENTIVE IT COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR AT LEAST SCARE THE DRIVER, AND CAUSE THEM TO OVER REACT, IN MY OPINION. THIS IS NOT RIGHT AND SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.. WE DO NOT THEREFORE USE THE CRUISE-- THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING EVER SINCE THE CAR WAS NEW-- AND WHEN I CALLED NISSAN AND THE DEALER, THEY SAID IT PROB. WAS NORMAL, NOT A GOOD ENOUGH ANSWER, IN MY OPINION-- IT IS ALMOST AS BAD AS THE TOYOTA PROB. AND I THINK IT IS ALL IN THE ELECTRICAL SET UP, WHICH I THINK IS GOING TO BE THE DOWNFALL OF THE MODERN CARS. IT WAS NOT NECESSARY TO COMPLICATE SOMETHING THAT WAS WORKING RIGHT FOR YEARS, AND NOT THEY WANT TO MAKE THE BRAKES ELECTRIC. TO MUCH ELECTRIC JUNK TO GO BAD AND CAUSE PROBLEMS, AND ALL SO THE VEH,'S HAVE TO BE TAKEN INTO THE DEALER OR SHOP. TO HAVE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS, AND CAUSE PROB'S WITH INSPECTIONS ALL THE TIME, ALSO EXPENSIVE, AND NOT WARRENTED THANKS *TR
MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE VICTIMS OF TOYOTA'S RECKLESS NEGLIGENCE. IN MAY 2006 I HAD A BRAND NEW NISSAN SENTRA AND I PULLED INTO A DRIVEWAY ACROSS FROM MY APARTMENT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR ACCELERATED AND IT FELT LIKE IT WAS POSSESSED. IT SPED PROBABLY 70-80 MPH AND I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE. LUCKILY, FOR ME THE CAR RAMMED INTO THE CONDO OF THE DRIVEWAY I PULLED IN. MY AIRBAGS POPPED OUT AND I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR WITH ONLY A CUT ON MY FOREHEAD. MY NEIGHBOR WITNESS THE WHOLE THING. WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME THEY LOOKED AT THE CAR AND SAID IT WAS A MIRACLE THAT I WAS ALIVE AND NOT BADLY HURT. I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THE OTHERS WITH THE SAME CAR HAD EXPERIENCE THIS. I TRIED TO CONTACT NISSAN, I EVEN HIRED AN ATTORNEY. MY INSURANCE COMPANY SAID THE COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. WELL, I KNOW THAT THIS CAR WAS DEFECTIVE AND IF NOT FOR THE CONDO I WOULD HAD DIED. NOW THAT THIS EVENT HAS HAPPENED WITH TOYOTA I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. MIND YOU I'M STILL PAYING FOR THE CAR THAT IS TOTALED. *TR
HI THERE, I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA 1.8 S AND UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE AN SINGLE TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ON 31 DEC, 2009. I SKID ON THE SNOWY-ICY HIGHWAY AND HIT THE ROAD SIDE BARRIERS ABOUT 20-30 MPH. AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOYED. I INJURED MY NECK. I SENT ALL INFORMATIONS NISSAN USA ABOUT ME, VEHICLE AND ACCIDENT TO AND ASKED WHY? HOWEVER, THEY COULDN'T GIVE ME ANY REASONABLE ANSWER. I GOT FINAL RESPONSE FROM NISSAN ALMOST 2 MONTHS LATER THAN ACCIDENT. THEY FORWARD ME TO DEALER FOR AIRBAG DIAGNOSIS BUT IT'S NOT FREE OF CHARGE. I HAVE ALL RECORDS ABOUT ACCIDENT AND NISSAN. THANKS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATIONS...*TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE COMPUTER. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL REPAIR, BUT NOW HE IS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AT 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY THREE TIMES BEFORE HE REACHED HIS RESIDENCE. THE DEALER STATED THAT HE HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AGAIN. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE FIRST REPAIR WAS PERFORMED INCORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. NISSAN STATED THAT THEY WOULD PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE REPAIR COSTS, BUT THEY HAVE NOT YET DONE SO. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 83,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHEN THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION, THE ENGINE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTED AFTER SIX ATTEMPTS. THE DRIVER SMELLED GASOLINE INSIDE THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE PRESSURE REGULATOR WAS FAULTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED WITH THE FUEL PUMP REPAIR KIT UNDER THE EXTENDED SERVICE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS FOR IDENTICAL FAILURES DUE TO THE FAULTY PRESSURE REGULATOR. THE MANUFACTURER'S FUEL PUMP REPAIR KIT WAS USED DURING THE REPAIR ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,207 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 53,058. UPDATED 09/14/09. *LJ UPDATED 09/16/09.*JB
I HAVE ONLY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 11 MONTHS. LAST WEEK A RED FLASHING LIGHT APPEARS. I LOOKED IT UP IN MY HANDBOOK AND IT SHOWED THAT A SAFETY RESTRAINT ISN'T WORKING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE COST FOR REPAIR IS $1600.00. SINCE I'VE OWNED MY VEHICLE IT HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT, AND WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THE CARFAX REPORT WAS CLEAN AS WELL. MY REPAIR GUY SAYS THAT THE ONLY WAY THE LIGHT SHOULD'VE COME ON WAS DUE TO FRONT END COLLISION, WHICH, I HAVE NEVER HAD. I AM BEING TOLD THAT IN CASE OF ACCIDENT NONE OF MY SAFETY FEATURES WILL NOT WORK. NO SEAT BELT TIGHTENING, NO AIRBAGDEPLOY ETC. I AM VERY CONCERNED BECAUSE I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND WOULD LIKE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON. THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON THAT AN 11 MONTH OLD CAR SHOULD BE ACTING LIKE THIS!! I HAVE NOT YET REPAIRED THE VEHICLE, I AM GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH THE DEALER BECAUSE THIS ACTUAL PROBLEM SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE FEDERAL EMISSIONS LAW. *TR
SOMEBODY HAD HIT MY CAR TWICE AND KEPT GOING NEVER FOUND OUT WHO IT IS, THERE IS A BIG DENT IN MY DRIVER DOOR AND THE BUMPER HALF WAY OFF THE BACK OF THE CAR THEN THAT EVEN CAUSED MY WHEELS TO BE OFF BALANCED ALSO A MY BRAKES WERE PUT ON WRONG. *TR
WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HER 2006 NISSAN SENTRA IT WAS A RAINY NIGHT SHE RAN OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A DEEP DITCH. IT WAS A FRONT IMPACT INTO THE DITCH THE WHOLE FRONT END WAS DAMAGED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CAR WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY OVER $9000 IN DAMAGES. *TR
ON DECEMBER 29, 2008, MY SON AND HIS GIRLFRIEND WERE INVOLVED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT. HE WAS DRIVING A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA WITH SIDE AIRBAGS. HIS VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE DRIVER'S FRONT AIRBAG AND SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. THE PASSENGERS' FRONT AIRBAG DEPLOYED HOWEVER THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. INJURIES - DRIVER - RIGHT FEMUR FRACTURE RIGHT TIBIA AND FRACTURE TO LEFT PELVIS; PASSENGER - SEVERE HEAD INJURY. ARE ALL AIRBAGS SUPPOSED TO DEPLOY OR NOT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN AN AUTO ACCIDENT? *TR
REAR PASSENGER BRAKE DOES NOT ADJUST CORRECTLY AND OVER TIGHTENS. WHEEL MAY BECOME COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. BRAKE PAD SHOWS MOST WARE ON TOP FRONT PORTION OF SHOE THAT IS APPLIED BY THE PARKING BRAKE MECHANISM. SINCE NEW CAR HAS ALWAYS MADE CHIRPING NOISES WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE. ALL OTHER BRAKES ON CAR ARE STILL COMPLETELY GOOD EXCEPT THIS ONE. THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET EXPRESSING THE SAME CONCERN. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA AND INVOLVED IN A CRASH. ANOTHER DRIVER TURNED LEFT IN FRONT OF ME. I HIT HER GOING APPROXIMATELY 45MPH. MY FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE HIT HER FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE. MY AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. AT 45MPH THE AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. I NOW HAVE NECK INJURIES. THERE WAS A LITTLE OVER $2,200 DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF MY CAR AND IT WAS NOT DRIVABLE DUE TO THE FRONT LEFT TIRE BEING PUSHED ALMOST ALL THE WAY INTO THE WHEEL WELL. I JUST SAW A SAFETY RECALL FOR OTHER NISSAN'S FOR AIRBAG PROBLEMS AND AM WONDERING IF THE SENTRA'S SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED. THANK-YOU. *TR
MY CAR HAD ITS SERPENTINE BELT GOING BAD AT 10000 MILES. IT MAKES A SQUEAKY SOUND WHICH CAN ONLY BE FIXED BY CHANGING THE BELT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH MANY SENTRA OWNERS. MINE IS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA (SPECIAL EDITION). *TR
TIRE EXPERIENCED A SIDEWALL FAILURE. FAILURE NOTICED FOLLOWING A SHORT, SLOW SPEED DRIVE. A HOLE WAS IDENTIFIED ON THE SIDEWALL. RUBBER ON SIDEWALL VERY SOFT AT HOLE LOCATION. IT SEEMS A BELT SEPARATION OCCURRED. TIRE IS A FIRESTONE FIREHAWK GTA 02. OEM ON 2006 NISSAN SENTRA (WITH ALUMINUM RIMS). SIZE: 195/55R16 86H. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS, THE PRESSURE IN THE GAS TANK FORCED FUEL OUT OF THE TANK AND CAUSED GASOLINE TO LEAK OUT. WHENEVER THE CONTACT WOULD PLACE FUEL INTO THE VEHICLE, THE GAS PUMP WOULD AUTOMATICALLY STOP INDICATING THAT THE TANK WAS FULL, WHEN IN FACT IT WAS NEARLY EMPTY. HE THEN BEGAN TO NOTICE LEAKS ON HIS DRIVEWAY AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. HE WAS INFORMED THAT A NEW GAS TANK AND FUEL FILTER WERE NEEDED. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED AT THE DEALER. THEY COVERED HALF OF THE REPAIR COSTS. THE FAILURE IS IDENTICAL TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V269000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE) FOR AN EARLIER MODEL OF THE SAME VEHICLE; HOWEVER, HIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 131,000.
MY WIFE SKIDDED OFF A FRESHLY GRAVELED ROAD AND NOSE-DIVED INTO A DITCH FRONTEND FIRST, CATAPULTED THE VEHICLE INTO A C/CLOCKWISE SPIN AND WRAPPED THE VEHICLE AROUND A TREE. THE ORIGINAL IMPACT WAS FRONT END AND NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS COMPLETELY CRUSHED HITTING THE TREE WITH WHAT WOULD APPEAR AS A SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. ON INVESTIGATION, IT APPEARS THE AIR BAG WAS TORN OUT OF THE CENTER WALL (NO PROPELLANT SMELL OR RESIDUE). HAD THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN INJURIES THAT CERTAINLY WOULD NOT HAVE REQUIRED MED-A-VAC. JPC/SC . *TR

IF THE HEAT/AIR SELECTOR IS POSITIONED TO DEFROST THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR RUNS UNTIL THE ENGINE IS TURNED OFF. THIS MAKES IT MORE DIFFICULT TO MAKE THE CAR COMFORTABLE AND WASTES GAS. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, HE AFFIRMED THAT THE CAR WAS DESIGNED TO WORK THIS WAY. *TR
MY AUTO SLIPPED FROM PARK TO DRIVE SUNDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 16, 2007 WITH NO WARNING. ABOVE ABOUT 35 OR 42F THE AIR COND RUNS IF THE AIR SELECTOR IS POSITIONED ON ANY SELECTION THAT INCLUDES DEFROST, AND THE ONLY WAY TO TURN THIS OFF IS TO TURN THE AIR SELECTOR TO A POSITION THAT DOES NOT CONTAIN DEFROST, PULL OVER, STOP THE VEHICLE, TURN THE IGNITION OFF, THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE. I AM NOT MISTAKEN, I AM POSITIVE OF THIS. THIS IS NOT GREEN, THE AIR IS OFTEN RUNNING ALL DAY WASTING GAS MILEAGE PUTTING MORE POLLUTION IN THE AIR. HEATER MUST BE TURNED ON TO COMPENSATE FOR THE COOLING EFFECT OF THE AIR CONDITIONER. *TR

I HAVE AN 2006 NISSAN SENTRA AND I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 3000 MILES SON IT. A COUPLE MONTHS LATER THE BRAKES WOULD SQUEAK AND THE ENGINE WOULD MAKE TICKING SOUND. I TOOK IT IN TO SANTA MONICA NISSAN 5 TIMES AND THEN THE FINALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND FOR A 4 MONTH OLD CAR IT SHOULDN'T NEED BRAKES. THE BRAKES DON'T MAKE ANY NOISE BUT THE ENGINE STILL MAKES TICKING SOUND BUT NISSAN DOES THE SAME REMEDY EVERY TIME, CHANGE THE ENGINE BELTS. APPARENTLY THAT'S NOT WORKING AND WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE BUT I WAS ON HOLD FOR 1 HOUR AND THEN I HUNG UP. NISSAN NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT THIS. REMEMBER THE BRAKES ARE FNE NOW ITS JUST THE ENGINE THAT MAKES TICKING SOUNDS. THEY BETER FIX THIS. *JB

MY SON PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA ON 10/13/06. THE CAR ONLY HAD 20 MILES ON IT. IT RAN GOOD FOR A WEEK THEN HE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT NOT STARTING. HE HAD TO GET IT JUMPED OFF. THAT WAS FRIDAY 10/20/06; HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS ON SAT. SUNDAY WAS A DIFFERENT STORY, HE AND HIS FIANCE HAD A GET IT JUMPED OFF THREE TIMES. WHEN YOU WOULD STOP AT STOP SIGN OR LIGHT IT WOULD BARELY TAKE OFF. SHE WENT BY THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT.THEY TOLD HER IT WAS PROBABLY THE BATTERY TO BRING IT BACK ON MONDAY 10/23/06; SHE SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE BETWEEN HIS TWO JOBS. HE WOULD COME BY AROUND 4:15 PM, THEY SAID THAT WAS FINE. HE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON TUES. 10/24/06, THEY RAN A COMPUTER SCAN ON THE CAR AND SAID IT WAS FINE THAT NO CODES SHOWED UP. HE TOLD THEM THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THAT HE WANTED TO GET WHATEVER IS WRONG FIXED. THEY TOLD HIM TO BRING IT AND LEAVE IT, HE EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT HE COULDN'T LEAVE THE CAR DUE TO THE FACT HE WORKS FROM 7AM-4PM AND 4:30PM-11PM. HE ASKED ABOUT GETTING A RENTAL OR A LOANER, THEY SAID HE COULDN'T GET ONE BECAUSE HIS AGE AND BECAUSE NO CODES HAD SHOWED UP. HE WENT TO PICK UP HIS FIANCE, WHILE THEY WERE IN THE CAR WAITING FOR HER THEY STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING AND THEN THEY SAW SMOKE. THEY GOT OUT AND OPENED THE HOOD, THE ALTERNATOR WIRES WERE ON FIRE. HE PUT IT OUT. THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING PICKED IT UP AFTER I WENT THERE TO TELL THEM ABOUT IT. I HAD ALREADY REPORTED THIS TO NISSAN MOTOR NORTH AMERICA. WE WERE TOLD THAT WHEN THE CAR WAS SEND BACK FOR THE RECALL ON THE MOTOR THAT THEY FORGOT TO TIGHTEN THE NUT UP ON THE ALTERNATOR AND THAT WAS WHAT STARTED THE FIRE WAS AN ARC. THEY ASSIGNED IT TO A CONSUMER AFFAIRS PERSON. WE HAD TO TAKE IT BECAUSE HE HAD NO OTHER WAY TO WORK. WE DIDN'T LOOK AT IT UNTIL LATER THAT NIGHT IT WAS FOUND THAT ALL THE DEALERSHIP HAD DONE WAS TAPED ALL THE NAKED WIRES THAT HAD MELTED, AND LEFT THE SINGED ONES ON THERE. T *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER CHANGING THE OIL IN THE VEHICLE, THE OIL CAP WAS REMOVED AND OIL WAS OBSERVED SPURTING FROM THE TANK WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION.
THE OTHER DRIVER MADE A IMP LEFT TURN AND I HIT HIS 2006 F150 TRUCK WITH 2006 NISSAN SENTRA. I WAS GOING ABOUT 40 TO 45 MILES PER HOUR. MY AIR BAGS DID NOT DI-DEPLOY. MY AUTO IS AT MIKE SHAD NISSAN BEING REPAIRED FOR PHYSICAL DAMAGE. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN TO CHECK THE AIR BAGS OUT I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE ABOUT 6 WEEKS BEFORE THE REPORT WOULD BE COMPLETE. I'M JUST A SCARED TO DRIVE AN AUTO IF THE AIR BAGS ARE DEFECTED. I WANT TO KNOW BEFORE I DRIVE THE NISSAN BACK OFF THE LOT. THE PHYSICAL DAMAGE SHOULD BE REPAIRED IN ABOUT 6 DAYS. *NM
