BRAKE LINE, PART NUMBER 47326-60340 BURST WITHOUT WARNING WHEN DRIVING. THE PARTICULAR BRAKE LINE PART IS ABOVE FRAME RAIL NEAR FIREWALL. THE PARTICULAR BRAKE LINE PART GOES FROM BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER TO BRAKE FLUID FITTING ON THE VEHICE FRAME. IT IS BURIED UNDER HOOD, NOT EASY TO INSPECT. PART OF REASON IT IS DIFFICULT TO VISUALLY INSPECT IS THAT THERE ARE "LOOPS" IN LINE TO ALLOW FOR FLEXIBILITY BETWEEN VEHICLE BODY AND CHASSIS. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPED WITH ELECTRICALLY BOOSTED BRAKING SYSTEM. UNDER THIS LEAK CONDITION, THE ELECTRIC BOOST FUNCTIONALITY WILL BE LOST, THE BRAKE SYSTEM OPERATES IN MECHANICAL BACK-UP MODE. BRAKE PRESSURE IS GENERATED SOLELY FROM DRIVER FOOT. DUE TO LEAK IN ONE CIRCUIT, THERE IS NO BRAKE PRESSURE IN ONE CIRCUIT OF BRAKE SYSTEM. THE COMBINATION OF NON BOOST-ASSISTED BRAKING AND ONE CIRCUIT DEACTIVATE RESULT IN EXTREMELY DEMOLISHED BRAKING ABILITY FROM DRIVER.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS OF WEST VIRGINIA. ALARM SOUND, FLASHING LIGHTS AND BRAKE PEDAL UNRESPONSIVE. HAD TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED ON SEPT 19, 2016 WITH 65,596 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE TRUCK HAD RECENTLY BEEN INSPECTED SEPT 2, 2016 AND ALSO HAD THE REAR BRAKE PADS REPLACED AT CHARLES BARKER TOYOTA IN VIRGINIA BEACH VIRGINIA. THE ODOMETER READING WAS 65,121. THE SERVICE MANAGER DID STATE IT WAS NOT COMMON PRACTICE TO BLEED THE BRAKE LINES ALTHOUGH I DID FIND SEVERAL SITES ON LINE THAT SAID THIS SHOULD BE DONE. I AM RETIRED AND DRIVE VERY LITTLE. AFTER A 400 MILES ROAD TRIP TO WEST VIRGINIA THIS HAPPENED. I FEEL LUCKY TO BE ALIVE AND FORTUNATE THAT THIS OCCURRED IN A FLAT STRETCH OF ROAD. $3229.92 LATER AFTER REPLACING THE ABS SYSTEM WE WERE ABLE TO RETURN HOME. PAPER WORK AVAILABLE ON REQUEST.

WE CAME HOME LATE AT WEDNESDAY NIGHT SEPT, 07 2011 AROUND 9:00 PM, SAW THE TAIL LIGHTS AND FRONT AMBER LIGHTS OF THE 2006 LAND CRUISER PARK AT THE DRIVEWAY WAS ON. I WENT INTO THE HOUSE TO GET THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR AND LOCKED IT BACK. WE WENT INTO THE HOUSE FOR 10 MINUTES AND CAME OUT SIDE AND THOSE LIGHTS ARE TURN ON AGAIN. I GOT THE KEY AGAIN AND THIS TIME I UNLOCK THE DOOR AND TRY TO START THE CAR AND FOUND OUT THE BATTERY ARE DEAD, I TRY VERY THINGS I CAN THINK OF TO TURN THOSE LIGHTS OFF, NO LUCK, I END UP TO OPEN THE HOOD TO DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE AND FOUND THE PLASTIC HORN ON THE GROUND AND HAD BEEN MELTED OFF FROM THE METAL HORN ITSELF. THE NEXT DAY SEPT, 08 2011. I TOOK THE BATTERY OUT AND PUT IN THE GARAGE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY BACK UP. ON FRIDAY SEPT, 09 2011, I PUT THE BATTERY BACK ON THE VEHICLE AND TURN THE CAR OVER, I DROVE ALL THE WAY TO A LOCAL TOYOTA DEALERSHIP AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH THEM ON NEXT MONDAY SEPT, 12 2011. DROVE THE CAR HOME , LOCK THE CAR ABOUT 2 HOURS LATER CAME OUT AND FOUND THE LAND CRUISER LIGHTS ON AGAIN, WENT TO GET THE KEY AND TURN ON THE ENGINE AND THIS TIME THE DASH BOARD LIGHT ALSO FLASHING, THE CAR ENGINE RAN FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES AND SUDDENLY THE ENGINE REV UP BY ITSELF AND STAYED REV. I STEP ON THE BRAKE PEDAL NOTHING CHANGE, AND ALSO TRY TO STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND FOUND OUT THAT THE GAS PEDAL HAD NO RESPOND WHAT SO EVER WITH THE ENGINE SPEEDING UP. STUCK ACCELERATOR CONTROL? WAS THERE ANY OF THIS BEEN REPORTED? WAS THERE A RECALLED? *TR

DEAR SIR; CONCERNING THE TOYOTA-RECALL-PROBLEMS, THERE WERE/ARE MANY CASES EVEN IN JAPAN, ALTHOUGH THE JAPANESE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT DID NOT ANNOUNCE ON IT FOR A LONG TIME. IF YOU NEED SUCH AN DATA ON THE INPORTANT TROUBLE CASES IN JAPAN FOR THE NEWLY TOYOTA IN FUTURE, I WOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE SOME PHENOMENON-DATA ON MY CASES AS AN USER, I THINK: PARTICULARLY, UNEXPECTEDLY HIGH ROTATION OF THE ENGINE /ALTERNATIVELY SLOW ROTATION SUDDENLY WITHOUT ANY STOP. IT MEANS "UNEXPECTEDLY ENGINE-BRAKE" AS YOU KNOW. ANYWAY, ALL OF THESE UNEXPECTED HIGHLY/SLOWLY ROTATION OF THE HIGH VOLUME-ENGINES WERE DEPENDED UPON THE ETCS, I ALSO THINK/ BELIVE EVEN AT THIS TIME AS AN USER FOR A LONG TIME WITH HIGHLY SENSITIVE TECHNICS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENSION ON THESE PROBLEMS FOR A NEWLY TOYOYA AS A JAPANESE. (NOTE) I HAVE BEEN IN THE UC-BERKELEY, CALIFORNIA, A LONG TIME BEFORE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER. WHENEVER THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT, THE STEERING WOULD BIND AND STOP TURNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE STOP SCREW NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE IS STILL OCCURRING. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,121 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,199.
I PURCHASED A 2006 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER IN AUGUST OF 06 NEW FROM THE DEALER. FROM THE FIRST DAY IT HAS HAD A VERY UNPLEASANT DRIVELINE/TIRE SHAKE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE DEALER HAS RE-BALANCE THE TIRES SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. THE SHAKING HAS BROKEN SOME TRIM LOOSE THAT HAS BEEN REPLACED AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE NAVIGATION SCREEN ALSO NOW REPLACED. IT PULLS STRONGLY TO THE RIGHT AND THEY SAY TO LIVE WITH IT AND THE SHAKING. I HAVE BEEN TO ARBITRATION THE HEARING JUDGE SAID IF SEVERAL OF THE CARS HAVE THE DEFECT TO LIVE WITH IT. I DROVE A NEW 07 THIS WEEK AND IT WAS SO BAD MY SERVICING DEALER AGREED IT SHOULD HAVE AN OUTSIDE ENGINEER COME LOOK TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIND A REMEDY. THE TOYOTA REP AT MY HEARING SAID I SHOULD FILE WITH YOUR SITE TO VOICE MY UNHAPPINESS WITH THIS PRODUCT. I NOTICED THERE IS AT LEAST ONE OTHER CASE I JUST REVIEWED WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY PRESSURE YOU CAN PLACE WITH TOYOTA. SINCERELY. *JB
