THE LIGHT IS ON ,AIRBAG NOT WORKING AT THE CLUSTER
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2007 GMC SAVANA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO STOP, BUT THE BRAKES FAILED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SAVANA 3500 EQUIPPED WITH COOPER DISCOVERER H/T TIRES, SIZE: LT26/75/R16 (NA). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TREAD LINE SEPARATED ON THE REAR DRIVER TIRE AND BOTH THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER TIRES. THESE WERE REPLACEMENT TIRES. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED AND STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VIN AND DOT NUMBER WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE IGNITION KEY WARNING SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT PULLED TO THE RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND STATED THAT THE LEFT INNER AND OUTER TIE ROD HAD FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THAT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,812.
INTERMITTENT BRAKE LOCK UP ON 2007 GMC SAVANA 2500 CARGO VAN. THE PEDAL FEELS HARD TO PUSH AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SLOW. MORE PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL THEN THE FRONT BRAKES LOCK UP COMPLETELY. THIS HAPPENED TWICE AT LOW SPEEDS AND ONCE AT FREEWAY SPEED. VERY FORTUNATE THAT OTHER DRIVERS WERE ABLE TO AVOID A TRUCK SKIDDING TO A STOP ON THE FREEWAY. TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF FOR FIVE MINUTES SEEMS TO ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO FUNCTION AGAIN TEMPORARILY. DEALERSHIP REPORTS "LEAKING HYDROBOOST" UNIT IS THE PROBLEM. THIS IS THE SECOND FAILURE OF THIS PART IN OUR 15 TRUCK FLEET, ALTHOUGH THE EARLIER FAILURE DID NOT CAUSE BRAKE LOCK-UP. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SAVANA 1500. THE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE LOWER BALL JOINTS WERE REPLACED IN MARCH OF 2008. THE VEHICLE THEN BEGAN EXPERIENCING SEVERE SHAKING DUE TO THE LACK OF AN ALIGNMENT. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE LOWER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. SIX MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE FAILURE RECURRED. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE UPPER BALL JOINTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT HIS VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE EXPERIENCING BALL JOINT ISSUES AFTER A YEAR OF BEING PURCHASED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
2007 GMC SAVANA EXTENDED CARDO VAN. CONSUMER STATES THAT IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE FROM THE REARVIEW MIRROR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VAN. *MC THE CONSUMER STATED HAS PURCHASED A NEW VAN WITH THE SAME DEFECT AS THE PREVIOUS VAN AND STATED THAT HE KNOWS GM HAS A MIRROR TO REMEDY THE DEFECT. THIS PAST WEEKEND IN CANTON, TEXAS THE CONSUMER ENCOUNTERED TWO VENDORS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE SIMILAR TO HIS VAN AND THEY BOTH HAVE THE WIDE ANGLE MIRROR ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. THE CONSUMER WANTS TO KNOW WHY WONT GM FIX THE DEFECT IF THEY IN FACT HAVE THE CORRECT MIRROR. *TR

THESE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 404, "PLATFORM LIFT INSTALLATIONS IN MOTOR VEHICLES." THE LIFT COULD STOW EVEN THOUGH SOMEONE OR SOMETHING IS STILL ON THE LIFT.
