WHEN SHIFTING INTO GEAR THE VEHICLES WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON AND REGEN DISABLED SHOW UP AND THE VEHICLE WON'T ACCELERATE. I CAN SHUT IT OFF AND BACK ON AND THE WRENCH LIGHT WILL GO AWAY FOR A COUPLE MILES THEN BACK ON WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. WHILE THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND WENT INTO OTHER GEARS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL, IT SHIFTED INTO DRIVE ON ITS OWN. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE CONTACT'S SON STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FELT AS IF IT WERE DRAGGING AFTER IT JUMPED. IN ADDITION, "OVERDRIVE" APPEARED ON THE CONTROL PANEL THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO ANOTHER INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
TAKATA RECALL I WAS ON THE EXPRESS WAY IN MOTION AND THE CAR SHUT DOWN MEANING THAT ALL OF THE GADGES SHUT DOWN. THEN THE CAR JUST COAST UNTIL I COULD PULL OVER WITHOUT BEING HURT OR HURTING OTHER DRIVERS. NOTHING SHOWED UP JUST SHUT DOWN.
I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT I HAVE LOST 2ND GEAR AND 4TH GEAR IS ON ITS WAY OUT ON MY CAR. APPARENTLY THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT AT LEAST SINCE 2012, ACCORDING TO AN ONLINE FORD MOTOR COMPANY PUBLICATION, MAYBE EVEN EARLIER. THE PUBLICATION STATES THAT IT AFFECTS 2007-2008 FORD ESCAPES AND MERCURY MARINERS. WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS, IF THEY KNEW ABOUT IT AT LEAST FIVE YEARS AGO, WHY WASN'T THERE A RECALL AND IF NOT A RECALL, SOME KIND OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE/COMPENSATION FOR THE REPAIRS? I'VE SHOPPED AROUND FOR PRICES AND THE BEST I COULD FIND WAS $2200.00 FOR THE REPAIR PLUS ANOTHER $225.00 FOR A RENTAL TO USE WHILE MY CAR IS BEING REPAIRED. THE REPAIR IS GOING TO TAKE 3-5 DAYS.
MY SON WAS USING OUR CAR HE DROVE IT TO WORK... ALL WAS FINE...HE USED THE CAR TO GO GET LUNCH IN THE SHOPPING CENTER... DROVE BACK FROM THE SHOPPING CENTER TO A PARKING SPOT OUTSIDE HIS JOB LOCATION... HE THEN COMPLETED HIS SHIFT AT DICK'S SPORTING GOODS WHERE MY WIFE AND I MET UP WITH HIM...WE ALL PROCEEDED TO OUR CAR AND TRUCK WHICH WERE PARKED ACROSS FROM ONE ANOTHER...MY WIFE AND SON GOT IN THE MERCURY I GOT IN MY TRUCK... MY SON TRIED TO START THE MERCURY BUT IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER...MY WIFE TRIED STILL WOULD NOT TURN OVER ... CHECKED THE BATTERY ALL WAS GOOD SO I THOUGHT MAYBE THE STARTER? HAD IT TOWED , AND A STARTER REPLACED? STILL NOTHING ... MY MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE MOTOR ? AND I WOULD NEED A NEW MOTOR !!! SO I LOOKED ON LINE AND FOUND SOMETHING ABOUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT INVOLVING MERCURY MARINER 2005 TO 2008 MINE IS A 2007 ? CALLED THEM BUT THE SAID I HAVE TO CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY MY SELF ???? SO THAT IS WHAT LED ME TO YOU!!! CAN YOU HELP?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. AFTER DRIVING AND PARKING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL AND MANEUVER THE KEY IN ORDER TO GET IT TO RELEASE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND WAS GRADUALLY GETTING WORSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELTS FAILED TO LATCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVING PERFECTLY NORMAL ALL DAY. IN THE EVENING, WHILE DRIVING IN A HEAVILY-TRAFFICKED AREA, UNEXPECTEDLY OUR MARINER WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR - THE ENGINE REVVED, BUT THE CAR WOULD JUST BARELY MOVE. IT FINALLY SHIFTED INTO 3RD GEAR, BUT NEVER WOULD GO INTO 4TH. ALL THE WHILE, THE O/D LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS GOING ON AND OFF. THIS PATTERN CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL DAYS WHILE WE HAD OUR MARINER INSPECTED AT NUMEROUS REPAIR SHOPS; THE END RESULT WAS THAT WE HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT AT A COST OF $1700. AT ONLY 111,000 MILES! ALL OF THE TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOPS THAT WE TALKED WITH STATED THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE IN THIS YEAR-MODEL FORD PRODUCT, MANY TIMES WAS FAR LESS MILEAGE THAN OURS HAD. *TR
MY 18 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING MY 2007 MERCURY MARINER, WHEN IT STARTED MAKING LOUD NOISES AND SHAKING LIKE CRAZY, HE WAS BARELY ABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE RUNNING TO GET HOME. WHEN MY HUSBAND LOOKED AT VEHICLE AND SAW WHAT IT WAS DOING, HE THINKS THE TRANSMISSION HAS GONE OUT ON IT. WE HAD DRIVEN THE VEHICLE TO CHURCH SUNDAY MORNING (SAME DAY) AND THERE WAS NO SIGNS OR SYMPTOMS OF ANY KIND OF PROBLEM. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED, AND IT HAS NOT HAD A PROBLEM EXCEPT FOR THE SHIFTER HAD TO BE REPLACED ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO...MECHANIC STATED THAT THERE HAD BEEN SOMETHING SWEET SPILLED INSIDE OF THE SHIFTER, HOWEVER, I DRIVE THE VEHICLE 99.9% OF THE TIME AND I DRINK WATER...... AFTER RESEARCHING AND READING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS VEHICLE ON THIS WEBSITE, I DO REALIZE THAT THERE IS A MANUFACTURED DEFECT IN THE TRANSMISSION AND THE SHIFTER. HOW AND WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES? WHY DIDN'T SOME OF THE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON? WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE THAT THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED BEFORE NOW AND CAUSED US TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. *JS
THE CAR JUST LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING. SURGED A BIT THEN WAS OPERATING AT REDUCED POWER LIKE IT WAS LIMPING EVENTUALLY IT JUST STALLED AND THE GAS WOULD JUST REV THE ENGINE. FORD FIXED THE CAR UNDER WARRANTY. IF THIS HAS HAPPENED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN TRAFFIC IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED A SEVERE ACCIDENT AS CARS WOULD HAVE BEEN DODGING A STALLED CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS-. *TR
CAR LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING-- IT OPERATED AT A LIMP AT FIRST-- JUST PRIOR TO THAT WENT FORWARD QUICK, THEN IT JUST STALLED WHILE DRIVING WHILE IN GEAR. THE GAS JUST MADE THE ENGINE REV. THE CAR THE NEXT DAY AFTER GETTING TOWED OPERATED AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHILE THE SERVICE STATION TOOK THE CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE. THEY HAD TO TOW IT BACK. THIS SAME PROBLEM WAS FIXED UNDER WARRANTY (20,000 ON APPROX. 03/2008). IT HAPPENED AGAIN. FORD REFUSED TO AGREE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE DESIGN ETC. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE RESULTS COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC. I THINK IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE THROTTLE PROBLEM... THE CAR LIMPS JUST AS EVERYONE AS COMPLAINED ABOUT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WAS ACTUALLY FIXED UNDER WARRANTY AS THE PARTS MEAN NOTHING. PISTONS, GASKETS, SENSOR TURBI, HUB PLATE ASY, SEALS, AND MANY OTHER PARTS. *TR
COMING OFF A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO SECOND, COULD FEEL IT FINALLY JUMP INTO 3. TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION HAD NO 2 AND 4TH GEARS. UPON LOOKING ONLINE, TRANSMISSIONS AND POWERTRAINS ARE KNOWN DEFECTS WITH THIS MODEL/YEAR. JUST HAD TO SPEND $2000.00 TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED AS FORD IGNORED PREVIOUS COMPLAINTS FROM CONSUMERS!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN AND THE RACK AND PINION WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE MONTHS LATER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,845. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE STARTED THE IGNITION AND ATTEMPTED TO REVERSE FROM A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY BUT THE VEHICLE WAS EXTREMELY SLUGGISH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT FELT AS IF THE VEHICLE HAD ENGAGED IN NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 80,000. *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND CAR BEGAN TO MAKE A LOUD RATTLE NOISE, OD LIGHT FLASHED (OD OFF) AND PULLED OVER. I ATTEMPTED TO PULL BACK ON ROAD AND CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. 1800.00 REPAIR. NOW 2013 EXACTLY 3 YEARS LATER AND CAR BEGINS SAME THING ALL OVER AGAIN. DIAGNOSTIC TEST STATES NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION. TOLD THESE CARS HAVE HAD THESE PROBLEMS FROM THE GET GO. FORD KNOWS THIS! THE PROBLEM IS COOLANT IS LOCATED IN RADIATOR AND DOES NOT KEEP TRANS FROM OVERHEATING. I AM NOW TOLD IT WILL BE 3650.00 FOR ANOTHER TRANS. THIS IS A TOTAL MESS. IT IS NOT FAIR TO THE CONSUMER WHO STILL OWES 16,000.00 ON THIS CAR. I BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH THE HOPES OF REPAIRING MY DAMAGED CREDIT AND MADE ALL ROUTINE SERVICE AND FLUSHES AS SCHEDULED ON TIME. NOW WHAT TO DO? I CANT AFFORD ANOTHER TRANSMISSION, AND AM WITHOUT A CAR AND CONTINUE TO HAVE A CAR PAYMENT OR MY CREDIT THAT I HAVE FINALLY GOT BACK ON TRACK IS RUINED ONCE AGAIN! CAN ANYONE OFFER ME ADVICE ON WHAT TO DO? HELP! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE OVERDRIVE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PUSHED THE OVERDRIVE BUTTON TO DEACTIVATE THE SYSTEM BUT THE LIGHT DID NOT DEACTIVATE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT SHIFT IN A TIMELY MANNER. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE TEST RESULTS SHOWED A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALER STATED THE ENTIRE POWER TRAIN SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY A PRIVATE MECHANIC. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND LOST POWER TO ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND DRIVE HOME. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DID NOT CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE MADE A LOUD NOISE AND A CLOUD OF SMOKE CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE OIL LIGHT ONLY ILLUMINATED AFTER THE ENGINE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT A REDUCED RATE. THE CONTACT COULD NOT CONFIRM THE EXACT REPAIR THAT WAS MADE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 73,000 MILES. UPDATED 07/19/12 *BF UPDATED 07/31/12
INTERNAL TRANSMISSION FAILURE; NEEDS REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION. HAD DONE ALL FACTORY RECOMMENDED SERVICES WHEN DUE INCLUDING TRANSMISSION FLUSHES. TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED AT THIS MILEAGE, ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE FACT THAT CAR WAS SERVICED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS. HAVE HAD NUMEROUS OTHER CARS WITH SUBSTANTIALLY MORE MILEAGE AND NO TRANSMISSION ISSUES. *TR
THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND A LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASH SAYING "STOP SAFELY NOW". I STOPPED, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, AND TURNED IT BACK ON. I TOOK IT TO A AN AUTHORIZED FORD REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAID THEY WEREN'T SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I DIDN'T HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM FOR 9 MONTHS AND THEN THE SAME THING HAPPENED. AGAIN NO PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN REPEATEDLY. AFTER PULLING OVER AND RESTARTING THE SAME PROBLEM WOULD REOCCUR ABOUT EVERY 15 MILES. I MADE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY ARE NOW REPLACING THE COOLANT PUMP. I DID SOME READING ON-LINE AND THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ESCAPE AND MARINER HYBRIDS. SHOULDN'T THERE BE A RECALL OF THE FAULTY PUMP? *TR
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH 6,000 MILES ON IT. I KEPT UP MY NORMAL MAINTANCE ON THE VEHICLE AND REPLACED THINGS WHEN NEEDED. AT APPROXIMATELY 42,000 MY TRANSMISSION WOULD NO LONGER SHIFT THE GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO WALLACE DEALERSHIP OF WHICH THEY KEPT MY VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 2 WEEKS. THEY EXPLAINED THEY DID AN OVERHAUL OF THE TRANSMISSION AND FIXED REPAIRS ON IT SO THAT THEIR WOULD BE NO FURTHER PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION LATER ON DOWN THE ROAD. NOW AT 84,735 MILES LATER, I AM ONCE AGAIN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AND MY VEHICLE WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR. BECAUSE I AM OUT OF WARRANTY MY VEHICLE WILL SIT UNTIL I CAN MAKE THE REPAIRS AS A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT IS NOT A CHEAP EXPENSE. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH IN THIS CAR AND DESERVES EXTREME PRIORITY OF INVESTIGATION ON A RECALL FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL OF VEHILE. I AM RECEIVING NO HELP FROM THE FORD COMPANY AND I AM FINDING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT THAT THIS PROBLEM IN THIS VEHILCE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED OR DEALT WITH. I HAVE HAD A PRIVATE TRANSMISSION COMPANY EXAMINE MY VEHILCE (HAS NOT TOUCHED IT), OF WHICH THEY DISCOVERED, THE INTERNAL FILTER IS CLOGGING THE CVT (CONSTANT VELOCITY TRANSMISSION) FOR WHICH SOMETHING WILL CONTINIOUSLY BREAK IN THE FILTER OR WHERE THE FILTER IS HELD CAUSING THIS TO HAPPEN. I WAS ALSO ADVISED THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE MAINTANCE WISE OR PERSONAL USE OF DRIVING THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN. *TR
THE "VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR" FAILED PREMATURELY, CAUSING THE ABS TO DISABLE. ITEM WAS INSPECTED AND REPAIRED BY A FORD MECHANIC AND HE ADVISED THIS WAS PREMATURE FAILURE NOT CAUSED BY ABUSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED HER THAT THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY OIL COOLER, VALVE, GASKETS, DRIVE PLATE STEEL, PISTONS, SEALS, AND SCREENS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR ALL COMPONENTS HOWEVER, APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.
PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS. WE HAVE HAD THEM PROFESSIONALLY INSPECTED BY FORD MECHANICS AND THEY CONFIRM THAT THEY HAVE FAILED BY 60K. *TR

I RECEIVED A NOTICE DATED MAY, 2009 ON JUNE 3, 2009 FROM FORD REGARDING REPORTS OF TIRE VALVE STEM CRACKS AND AIR LEAKS ON 2007 MERCURY MARINER. THEY CLAIM IT IS NOT A RECALL. I HAD A PROBLEM WITH ONE TIRE ON FEBRUARY, 23 2009 ON MY WAY TO THE AIRPORT IN THE EARLY A.M. AND HAD IT REPAIRED - WAS VALVE STEM LEAK. MY HUSBAND CHECKED THE CAR WITH A MAGNIFYING GLASS AND FLASHLIGHT (ONLY WAY TO SEE CRACKS) AND FOUND THE OTHER THREE STEM VALVES WERE CRACKED. NO ONE WITH THE NAKED EYE COULD POSSIBLY SEE THIS. MY HUSBAND SAID I COULD HAVE HAD 3 FLAT TIRES SIMULTANEOUSLY. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. FORD REFUSES TO MAKE ANY REFUNDS UNDER THEIR PROGRAM. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY WERE TOLD NOT TO BRING THIS MATTER TO THE ATTENTION OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. DO THE WORK ONLY IF THE CUSTOMER ASKS THEM TOO. THIS IS MUCH TOO DANGEROUS A SITUATION AND FORD SHOULD MAKE THIS RECALL TO ALL VEHICLE OWNERS WHO COULD BE IN DANGER. THE REFUND WOULD BE NICE SINCE WE WEREN'T INFORMED OF THIS WHEN WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN BUT THE LIVES OF INNOCENT PEOPLE ARE AT STAKE BECAUSE FORD WON'T FESS UP TO CALLING THIS A RECALL. *TR
2008 MERCURY MARINER HYBRID NO CRANK. VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO HAVE DAMAGED HIGH VOLTAGE WIRING HARNESS. HARNESS RUNS ALONG UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE CABIN. HARNESS IS PARTIALLY ENCASED PVC. PVC WAS DAMAGED POSSIBLY DUE TO ROAD HAZARD HITTING UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. HIGH VOLTAGE HARNESS WAS DAMAGED RESULTING IN ENTIRE HARNESS BEING REPLACED. FORD WOULD NOT PAY FOR REPAIR. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND POSSIBLY A DESIGN FLAW. I STILL HAVE THE HARNESS IN MY POSSESSION AND WOULD BE WILLING TO PROVIDE IT FOR PURPOSE OF INVESTIGATION. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 MERCURY MARINER I PURCHASED IN APRIL 2007. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES NOW. 3 OF THE 4 TIMES BECAUSE SOMETHING HAS "GONE OUT" ON THE VEHICLE I.E. THE GAS PEDAL, THE WHEEL BEARINGS, THE TENSION PULLEY. I ALSO FOUND OUT FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT THAT MANUFACTURER NEVER PUT THE BOLTS ON THE TOP OF MY ENGINE TO COVER THE SPARK PLUGS. I CONTINUE TO HAVE A PROBLEM. THESE LAST THREE INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN WITHIN THE LAST MONTH AND A HALF MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP GETTING NEW PARTS. I HAVE ALWAYS BOUGHT USED. THIS IS THE FIRST VEHICLE I HAVE EVER PURCHASED A NEW VEHICLE AND I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE IT SHOULD HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS. EVERYTHING SO FAR IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, BUT IN 1,000 MILES I HAVE NO WARRANTY. I CAN'T IMAGINE HOW MUCH IT IS GOING TO COST IF SOMETHING ELSE "GOES OUT" ON MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE. *TR
THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ON MY 2007 MERCURY MARINER HYBRID WITH LESS THAN 2,500 MILES. WHEN THERE IS A FRONT SEAT ADULT PASSENGER THE LIGHT ON THE DASH INTERMITTENTLY LIGHTS TO STATE "PASS AIRBAG OFF". THE ONLY OTHER TIME THIS LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED IS BRIEFLY DURING START UP. IT IS THE INTERMITTENT NATURE OF THIS LIGHT COMING ON AND GOING OFF WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER THAT CAUSES ANXIETY FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER. THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN ADULT PASSENGERS IN THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD-LINCOLN-MERCURY DEALER AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE TO FIX THIS SITUATION. SHE SUGGESTED THAT THE PASSENGER SIT IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS IS AN UNACCEPTABLE SOLUTION. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE'S GAS PEDAL VIBRATES FREQUENTLY WHEN BEING ACCELERATED. THE DEALER DETERMINED THIS TO BE A FREQUENT PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL. THE VEHICLE IS A 2007 MERCURY MARINER.*AK
