DETAILS ISSUED 8/19/2015 RECALL ID 240549 NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 14V567000 VEHICLES AFFECTED 292,798 COMPONENT AFFECTED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION MY CAR HAS NOT BEEN STARTING AND THAT IS EMBARRASSING WORKING HOME CARE
CASE DESCRIPTION I HAD A RECALLS ON MY 2008 DODGE MAGNUM FOR AIRBAGS, AND IGNITION. HAD IT TOWED TO COMMINWEALTH DODGE CAUSE IT STOPPED RUNNING WHILE DRIVING. THEY REPLACED THE IGNITION, AND SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED AIRBAGS ALSO. THE IGNITION ALLOWED THE CAR TO THEN RESTART. HOWEVER WHEN I WENT TO PICK THE CAR UP IT RAN REALLY BADLY, AND HAD ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS IN THE DASH ON. I CONFRONTED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS BEFORE EVEN LEAVING THE LOT. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. I TOWED IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY FOUND THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS PULLED APART UNDER THE DASH. AFTER I PICKED THE CAR UP FROM THEM I'VE HAD THE WORST ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS IMAGINABLE. I'VE BEEN STRANDED IN ELLENSBURG WA FOR 3 MONTHS, THE BATTERY DIED EVERY 3-4 WEEKS. FCA WILL NOT EVEN RETURN ANY OF MY CALLS, AND THE DEALERSHIP JUST TRIED TO SELL ME A NEW CAR WHEN I CONTACT THEM. PLEASE HELP
ACCORDING TO MY LOCAL DEALER, MY CAR'S IGNITION MODULE WAS REPLACED AS A RESULT OF A RECALL. LAST WEEK MY CAR SHUT OFF FOR NO APPARENT REASON WHILE DRIVING 55MPH WHICH IS THE EXACT PROBLEM CAUSING THE ORIGINAL RECALL. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS ALL CAME ON FOR SEVERAL SECONDS BUT THE ENGINE QUIT RUNNING. THEN, AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS IT RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE CAR WILL ALSO NOT START ON OCCASION WHEN TURNING THE KEY UNLESS I PUSH THE KEY SIDEWAYS WHILE TURNING IT. I THINK SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE IGNITION MODULE. IT IS POSSIBLE THE PROBLEM WITH THE NEW IGNITION MODULE IS THE SAME AS THE OLD ONE? OR IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT EVER PERFORMED IN SPITE OF WHAT MY DEALER SAYS? THE DEALER REFUSES TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM FOR FREE BECAUSE, ACCORDING TO THEIR RECORDS, THE RECALL OF THE IGNITION MODULE HAS BEEN DONE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

I BOUGHT A CAR AND AFTER A MONTH THE CAR WAS PARKED AFTER I CUT THE CAR OFF AND AFTER I CAME BACK IT WOULD NOT START, AND THE BATTERY WAS FINE EVERY ELSE COMES ON. I REPLACED RELAY SWITCH BUT STILL THE SAME PROBLEM. ITS BEEN A FEW MONTHS AND CAR IS STILL NOT FIXED. THE DEALER SAID LAST WEEK, AND SAID THEY CHECKED VIN NUMBER AND SAY THEY ARE DOING A RECALL BUT WAITING FOR THE PART DID NOT SAY WHAT IT IS. I AM STILL WAITING...........
HELP!! I HAVE A 2008 MAGNUM. I TRIED FOR 3 MONTHS TO GET THE IGNITION RECALL DONE. "PARTS WEREN'T AVAILABLE". SUDDENLY 3/2016 MY CAR SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. IT WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THEY DID THE P57, R25 RECALLS. UPON RETURN OF CAR TO ME I NOTICE DASH FUNCTIONS INOPERABLE. I WENT RIGHT BACK INSIDE AND WAS TOLD I COULD LEAVE IT TO BE LOOKED AT (I WOULD BE BILLED) I CALLED FCAUSLLC AND THEY SET ME UP FOR A TOW TO A 2ND DEALER. THERE IT WAS FOUND THE WIRING UNDER THE DASH HAD BEEN PULLED APART. PARTIAL REPAIR WAS MADE THERE, BUT I THEN HAD A SLOW DRAIN ON ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. FOR 2+ MONTHS I WAS IGNORED BY FCA TRYING TO GET THE ISSUE REMEDIED. ON 5/22/16 I WAS ON HIGHWAY AND CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AGAIN. THIS TIME I HIT A RETAINING WALL. IT'S BEEN 3 MONTHS AND I HAVE NO SOLUTION TO THIS. I WAS IGNORED FOR A MONTH AND A HALF. THEN THEY DENEYED MY CLAIM DUE TO IT "NOT BEING A MFG. DEFECT" THEY KNEW THE PROBLEM BEFORE THIS HAPPENED IN THE MEANTIME THE DEALER WHERE THE CAR IS HAS NOTIFIED ME THE CARS AIRBAGS HAD BEEN DEPLOYED AND ARE NO GOOD.... IF THEY JUST REPLACED ONE OF THEM, HOW HAD THEY BEEN DEPLOYED... WHY WOULD THEY SAID TO HAVE DONE A RECALL ON A DEPLOYED SYSTEM..... AND WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED OF A AIRBAG SYSTEM THAT WOULD NOT HAVE HELPED ME IF I WOULD HAVE HIT THE WALL HEAD ON? I HAVE FILED 2 COMPLAINTS WITH BBB , AND FCA LIED ABOUT THE WHOLE SITUATION, AND THE CASE WAS CLOSED. THE DEALERSHIP THAT MESSED UP THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REPLIED WITH A FALSE SITUATION, AND SALES PITCH FOR A NEW CAR, AND MY FILE WAS CLOSED. I AM 2500+ MILES FROM MY VEHICLE, AM IN FINANCIAL SHAMBLES. NO ONE FROM FCA WILL EVEN RETURN MY CALLS, AND THEY REFUSE TO GIVE ME ANY INFO WHEN I CALL. THIS HAS DESTROYED MY BUSINESS, FAMILY, FINANCES, AND STATE OF MIND. I AM OUT OF OPTIONS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW TO PURSUE THIS. THANK YOU
I TOOK MY CAR TO PRESTAGE DODGE CAUSE THE CAR HAD PROBLEM STARTING SO THEY TESTED IT AND SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMPS, I ASKED WILL THAT TAKE CARE OF IT THEY SAID YES. I HAD TO BORROW $600.00 TO PAY FOR IT, 2 DAYS LATER IT STARTED AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TESTED IT AGAIN AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE TIPM AND THAT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER IT. I DID SOME CHECKING ON THE ENTER NET ON THE TIPM AND THAT HAS BEEN PROBLEMS WITH AND DEATHS. IT SAYS TYPICAL SYMPTOMS OF A TIPM FAILURE ◦THE FUEL PUMP NOT TURNING OFF AND BURNING OUT ◦THE ENGINE STALLING WHILE DRIVING ◦THE STARTER CRANKS BUT WON'T START ◦THE HORN GOING OFF AT RANDOM TIMES ◦POWER WINDOWS NOT WORKING I PAID 600 DOLLARS FOR PROBLEM THAT WAS NEVER FIXED AND FIND IT IS A PROBLEM AND THERE ARE LAWSUITS OUT THERE ALL SO FROM WHAT SEEN ITS A RECALL WILL YOU PLEASE HELP ME TO GET THIS PART REPLACE ON RECALL. THANK YOU *TR

WHILE SITTING AT RED LIGHT (FOOT ON BRAKES W ENGINE IDLING) CITY STREET WAITING FOR A GREEN LIGHT, I HEARD A LOUD NOISE (SOUND LIKE A LOUD CLUNK; BELT OR SOMETHING BREAKING APART) COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I QUICKLY LOOKED AT THE DASHBOARD FOR SOME INDICATION (NO WARNING/RED LIGHTS/HIGH TEMP/ LOW OIL PRESSURE) THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. NO SURE OF WHAT JUST HAPPENED, I DECIDED TO MAKE A U-TURN INTO PARKING LOT TO INVESTIGATE. AS I MADE THE U-TURN, I LOOKED IN REARVIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED A TRAIL OF FLUID BEHIND ME AS I DROVE INTO PARKING LOT. PARKED CAR, AND RAISED THE HOOD TO FIND THAT I HAD A COOLANT LEAK. NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE WERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM, I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO TOW MY VEHICLE HOME. TWO DAYS LATER WHILE REMOVING THE FRONTEND ASSEMBLY TO INVESTIGATE ROOT CAUSE OF MY COOLANT LEAK, SMALL AND LARGE PIECES OF PLASTIC FELL OUT FROM UNDER THE FRONTEND ASSEMBLY. AS I REMOVED THE COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY, I NOTICED THE FAN BLADES HAD BROKE OFF (ROOT CAUSE OF MY COOLANT LEAK) AND DAMAGED THE RADIATOR.

I WAS TAKING MY FAMILY (WIFE, 18 MONTH OLD, 2 YR OLD, AND 4 YR OLD) TO GET SOME ICE CREAM AFTER A HOME DEPOT TRIP. AS I TURNED LEFT ACROSS A BUSY STREET THE STEREO SUDDENLY BLINKED OUT, AND THE ENGINE DIED, ALONG WITH POWER STEERING, BRAKES, AND EVERY ELECTRICAL FUNCTION. IT SIMPLY BLINKED LIKE ALL POWER WAS LOST FOR A MOMENT, AND WAS ENOUGH TO KILL THE ENGINE, AND LOOSE ALL POWER ASSIST FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE. THANKFULLY I HAD MOMENTUM AND WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO THE SIDE STREET WITH OUT BEING T-BONED BY ON COMING TRAFFIC. I WAS SENT RECALL P57/NHTSA 14V-567 IN THE MAIL IN NOVEMBER 2014, BUT THERE WAS AND STILL IS NO REMEDY FOR THIS RECALL WHICH APPEARS TO BE DIRECTLY LINKED TO MY INCIDENT. HOW MANY FATAL ACCIDENTS ARE GOING TO OCCUR BETWEEN NOW AND THE FIX FOR THE KNOWN ISSUE? DODGE CAN BUILD A BRAND NEW [XXX] BETWEEN NOVEMBER AND TODAY, BUT THEY CANNOT MANUFACTURE A $.50 PART. DID THEY NOT LEARN FROM CHEVY? INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

THIS IS A POLICE PACKAGE 2008 DODGE MAGNUM. WE HAVE A FLEET OF THEM. ALL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE THE OFFICERS EXPERIENCE A SYSTEM SHUT DOWN. THE SYSTEMS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO ALL DASH WARNING INDICATORS COME ON SUDDENLY, THE ALARM SYSTEM INDICATOR ILLUMINATES AND BEGINS TO FLASH EVERY SECOND, GAUGES GO TO ZERO, THE TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFT TO 1ST GEAR, POWER REDUCTION KICKS IN, IF THE OFFICER PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK IT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK, IT BECOMES LOCKED. ALSO THE IF THE OFFICER SHUTS THE VEHICLE OFF IT WILL NOT START AND THE SECURITY SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT BLINKS EVERY SECOND. ONLY AFTER PULLING FUSE 11 TURNING THE KEY ON AND THEN OFF REINSTALLING THE FUSE WILL THE CAR START. AND MAYBE GO INTO GEAR. THE LAST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 WEEKS AGO THE OFFICER HAD A PERP IN THE BACK SEAT AND THE CAR STALLED OUT ON HIM. HE GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO OPEN THE HOOD AND HIS KEYS WERE LEFT INSIDE. THE LOCKED ITSELF DOWN, AND THE DOORS LOCKED AUTOMATICALLY. THE PERSON IN BACK BECAME TRAPPED FOR AN HOUR UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO BY PASS THE LOCKS WITH A SPARE KEY. THE LOCAL DEALER HAS CHARGED US AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF MONEY TO CHANGE SEVERAL MODULES, RECALIBRATE, AND TEST FOR THE FAILURE. NOTHING HAS BEEN CIRCUMVENTED TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING. OUR POLICE DEPARTMENT HAS PARKED THESE VEHICLE DUE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE QUESTION REMAINS, IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CAN BUS SYSTEM? OR WILL A SIMPLE KEY SWITCH FIX THE ISSUE? IF SO WHY NOT INSTALL A LATER MODEL KEY SWITCH THAT PERFORMS CORRECTLY? *JS

EVERY TIME WE DROVE THE CAR, EXHAUST FUMES CAME IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER 25 TIMES. THEY COULD NOT FIX IT. WE TOOK IT TO THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT, THEY PUT AN CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN IT AND THEY SAID IT WAS POISONING US WITH DEADLY FUMES AND TOLD US NOT TO DRIVE IT. I CAUGHT PNEUMONIA FIVE TIMES IN THE EIGHT MONTHS WE OWNED IT. THE DEALER WOULDN'T HELP US, DODGE WOULDN'T HELP US. IT WAS AT THE TIME DODGE WAS FAKING BANKRUPTCY. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER, THE SERVICE WRITER FINALLY SAID IT WAS OK FOR EXHAUST TO GET IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. I TOLD HIM IT WAS AGAINST FEDERAL LAW FOR MY FAMILY TO BREATHE THEIR EXHAUST AND NOT TO CALL US UNTIL IT WAS FIXED. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN UNTIL I RECEIVED A LETTER INFORMING US WE OWED CHRYSLER FINANCIAL $25,000 FOR,,, A CAR WE COULD NOT DRIVE. I TRIED TO GET IT LEMON LAWED AND COULDN'T GET ANYTHING DONE BECAUSE THE CHRYSLER CORPORATION WAS SUPPOSED TO BE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK IN MY 2008 DODGE MAGNUM R/T ONE OF THE COOLING FANS DISINTEGRATED AND DAMAGED MY RADIATOR PUNCHING HOLES AND CAUSING COOLANT TO BEGIN RAPIDLY LEAKING. AFTER ASSESSING THE DAMAGE I WAS ABLE TO LIMP THE CAR ALONG TO THE NEXT AUTO PARTS STORE I PURCHASED 2 GALLONS OF COOLANT IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET THE CAR TO A MECHANIC, IT ONLY MADE IT 2 BLOCKS SINCE THE LEAKING WAS SO SEVERE. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY MECHANIC WHERE HE ADVISED ME OF A RECALL AND I SHOULD CONTACT DODGE. I BEGAN RESEARCHING THE CAUSE OF THIS EQUIPMENT FAILURE. IT TURNS OUT THAT CHRYSLER RELEASED A RECALL "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION L08 ENGINE COOLING FANS" FOR 2006 THRU 2008 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES WITH "SEVERE DUTY ENGINE COOLING" SYSTEMS WITH THE SALES CODE NMS, XDL OR XDK AND BUILT THROUGH APRIL 29, 2008. MY VEHICLE HAS THE SALES CODE NMCS AND HAS BEEN EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. HOWEVER MY RESEARCH REVEALS THAT THERE IS NO DISTINGUISHABLE DIFFERENCE IN THE FANS PART NUMBER FROM THE YEARS 2004 THRU 2014. CONTACTING CHRYSLER ABOUT THIS BROUGHT NO RESULTS. I RECOMMEND ESTABLISHING A RECORD OF THESE FAN FAILURE OCCURRENCES IN VEHICLES THAT HAVE OTHER THAN THE RECALL'S STATED SALES CODES, AND THAT A NEW RECALL FOR ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS COOLING FAN SYSTEM BE RELEASED. THE EXISTING RECALL INCLUDES "SOLD TO SALES CODES AND/OR ARE CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN WARM CLIMATE STATES...". I LIVE IN A DESIGNATED WARM CLIMATE STATE ACCORDING TO THE RECALL. WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT THE BLADES DIDN'T CUT ANY HIGH PRESSURE HYDRAULIC LINES OR OTHER SAFETY CRITICAL OR FUEL LINES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE MAGNUM. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION POWER. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 113,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE MAGNUM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE SHOULDER SEAT BELT ADJUSTER FAILED TO ALLOW THE WEBBING TO EXTEND PROPERLY. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
THE CAR WONT SHIFT GEARS EASILY AND START UP PROPERLY. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. AND THAT IT HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL CARS BEFORE MINE. THIS SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECT. I CAN BE ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR WANT SHIFT FROM SLOW TO FAST PROPERLY, WHICH CAN CAUSE A SCARY SITUATION IF SOME ISN'T PAYING ATTENTION. *TR
RIGHT WHEN MY 2008 DODGE MAGNUM HIT 50,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING ROUGHTLY. DODGE SAYS IM NOT COVER. THE CAR IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD AND IT ONLY HAS 59,900 MILES ON IT NOW. I BELIEVE THIS IS A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM AND WANTED TO KNOW IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS. *TR
THERE IS A PIECE IN THE DRIVING GEAR SHIFT THAT ALLOWS YOU TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE. WHEN THIS PIECE BREAKS IT WILL NOT ALLOW THE GEAR SHIFT TO MOVE OUT OF PARK. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING IN MANY DODGE VEHICLES. I HAVE HAD FOUR OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAIN THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO THEIR CAR ALSO. IT SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE PLASTIC PIECE THAT SEEMS VERY EASY TO BREAK. IT IS INSIDE THE DRIVING GEAR SHIFT. IT WILL JUST NOT ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO MOVE OUT OF PARK BUT WILL ALLOW TO MOVE THROUGH DRIVE, REVERSE, AND THE OTHER SHIFTS. *TR
I HAVE NOT FIXED ANY OF THE PROBLEMS YET. I HAVE A 2008 DODGE MAGNUM. THE TAIL LIGHTS DON'T WORK AT ALL. I'VE ALMOST BEEN REAR-ENDED AT NIGHT SEVERAL TIMES. THE CRUISE CONTROL QUIT WORKING. THE CAR JERKS VERY BADLY GOING INTO 3RD GEAR FROM 2ND. THE CAR WILL NOT CRANK ONCE EVERY TWO DAYS OR SO. THE CAR CUTS OFF AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS AND WHEN I'M NOT PREPARED IT ALMOST RUNS ME OFF THE ROAD. THE GAUGES CUT ALL THE WAY OFF WHILE DRIVING ONCE EVERY WEEKS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN THOUGH I'VE RESET THE COMPUTER SEVERAL TIMES. THE FRONT AXLE POPS REALLY BAD WHEN GOING AROUND CURVES ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS GO DIM FOR NO REASON ON OCCASION. I'VE CHECKED ALL FUSES AND RELAYS AND THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT THEY'VE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR ALTHOUGH THERE ARE EXTREME AMOUNTS OF INTERNET FORUMS TALKING ABOUT THE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. THIS IS ONLY ONE SITE THAT HAS THE PROBLEMS. PLEASE HELP US! HTTP://THEARTICLEWRITER.COM/AUTOWRITER/IS-THE-DODGE-MAGNUM-A-LEMON/ . *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE MAGNUM. WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE SERVICED FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE TIE ROD. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIE ROD AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 49,915.
08 MAGNUM PURCHASED 08.08.2009 W/ 40,235 MILES W/ 48,000 EXTENDED WARRANTY. AROUND JANUARY OF 2010 STALLING IN PARKING LOTS, AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS, WHILE IN REVERSE. WHILE REGULAR DRIVING CAR WILL BUCK, AS THOUGH NEUTRAL WAS ENGAGED AND DISENGAGED. THIS MAY OCCUR WEEKLY, NO DIAGNOSIS WAS MADE ON MULTIPLE TRIPS. NOW WHILE DRIVING AT 65-70MPH ON HIGHWAY ON 6/04/2010, RIGHT FRONT TIE ROD END "EXPLODES". I WAS ABLE TO WRESTLE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND SAFELY PULL OVER TO SHOULDER AFTER NEARLY HITTING WALL. BOTH TIE ROD ENDS ARE CURRENTLY BEING REPLACED, AFTER MECHANIC DESCRIBES LEFT TIE ROD AS HAVING " EXCESSIVE PLAY". SPEED SENSOR DAMAGED BECAUSE RIGHT TIE ROD EXPLOSION. AS OFF NOW THE EXTENT OF THE DAMAGE IS STILL BEING ASSESSED, AND THE OLD PARTS HAVE BEEN REQUESTED TO STAY WITH THE CAR AS PROOF. THE ENGINE TROUBLES AND EXCESSIVE STALLING HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. PURCHASED DODGE BECAUSE OF LOVE FOR THE QUALITY AND CARS. AFTER INVESTIGATING; RECALLS/COMPLAINTS, NUMEROUS FORUMS I HAVE FOUND THIS PROBLEM TO BE IN THE HUNDREDS. PLEASE OPEN A CASE, I HAVE WAITED TO FILE A COMPLIANT SO THAT I WOULD HAVE TIME TO DO RESEARCH AND MAKE SURE I WOULD NOT BE "CRYING WOLF". CURRENTLY I AM TERRIFIED TO ACCEPT THE CAR, BECAUSE IF THE LEFT TIE ROD END WAS NOT IDENTIFIED AS PROBLEMATIC, THEN IT IS POSSIBLE THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN AWAITING REPAIRS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM LATER DOWN THE ROAD. AND I AM UNSURE IF I CAN KEEP WORRYING ABOUT WHEN AND WHERE THE CAR WILL STALL NEXT. IT IS NERVE RACKING TO HAVE TO CONSTANTLY PANIC WHEN IT DOES, OR EVEN IF IT WILL START BACK UP, ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS SHOULD NOT BE A ISSUE. THANK YOU. *TR
I PURCHASE THE DODGE MAGNUM IN DECEMBER OF 2008 IN FEBRUARY AND APRIL OF 2009 I HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AFTER MAKING A STOP AT THE SIGNAL LIGHT ON TWO OCCASIONS WITHOUT SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT. IN MAY ON 2010, I HAD TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALER BECAUSE COOLANT LEAKING DUE TO WATER PUMP WENT OUT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2008 DODGE MAGNUM, MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING AND NOT ONE LIGHT INSIDE TURNED ON INDICATING A PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THREE OCCASIONS WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE CARS COMPUTER WAS REFLASHED TWICE AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT WAS DONE BESIDES THAT. IT OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM CAUSE MY CAR HAS SHUT OFF PLENTY OF TIMES AFTER THAT. THE LAST OCCASION WAS MONDAY 02-15-10 WHILE IN THE PARKING LOT, AS I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE THE CAR STALLED WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. IT JUST SHUT OFF AGAIN BUT THIS TIME AN ACTUAL LIGHT CAME ON. THE MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 DODGE MAGNUM. THE CONTACT PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH 32,000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND STALLED. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL GAUGES FLUCTUATED RIGHT BEFORE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ENGINE LOCKED UP AND THE TOP PART OF THE ENGINE SEIZED. THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THERE WERE NO PREVIOUS FAILURES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 57,000.
I BROUGHT A 2006 DODGE MAGNUM 06/28/2006 ENGINE WENT 04/18/2007 TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAY IT WAS NOT COVER I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET $4,624.78. NOW 8 MONTH LATER MY TRANSMISSION IS GONE DODGE DEALER IN NEW YORK, SAYING THEY IS NOT GOING TO FIX IT I HAVE TO PAY OUT 2,700.00 AGAIN THE CAR IS NOR 2 YEARS OLD YET IT HAVE NOT REACH 60 MONTHS NOR 60,000 MILES. *TR
