FORD TRUCKS 2008-10 ARE KNOWN TO HAVE TURBO, EMISSION AND RADIATOR PROBLEMS. CAUSING THE VEHICLES TO STOP RUNNING. THEY HAVE A PIPE BEFORE TURBOS THAT BURNS ON THE INSIDE CAUSING IT NOT TO CLEAN OUT. WE TAKE GOOD CARE OF OUR VEHICLES, WE DO OIL CHANGES EVERY 4000 MILES, WE CHANGE TIRES AND KEEP EVERYTHING CLEAN AND UP TO DATE. WE DID NOT RUN THIS VEHICLE HARD. IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY THE FIRST TIME WE HAD TROUBLE. IN 2013 THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING AT 28,000 MILES AND QUIT. IT WAS SUGGESTED BY FORD TO CLEAR EMISSION. TURBOS WENT OUT TOTALLY AT 53,000 MILES COST OF $6700. THEN AT ANOTHER 900 MILES AT 53900 IT STOPPED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE SPENT 2 AND A HALF MONTHS IN THE SHOP BEFORE IT WOULD RUN AGAIN. THEY SAID THE PIPE BEFORE TURBOS BURNT FROM INSIDE MAKING TURBOS QUIT. WE GOT IT OUT OUR COST $2300. THEY WROTE OFF $2500 THEY SAID. NEXT DAY THE RADIATOR WAS CRACKED ON THE SEAM. OF COURSE IT WASN'T THE SHOPS FAULT. SO THAT WAS ANOTHER $2000. THE FORD COMPANY THAT FIXED IT SAID WE SHOULD HAVE RAN IT HARD THAT THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE HAD AS MANY PROBLEMS. IT HAS 54000 AND NO FORD DEALER EVEN WANTS A TRUCK MADE ON THEIR LOT BEFORE 2010. SO YOU KNOW THEY SHOULD HAVE SOME RECALLS. THEY WON'T STAND BEHIND ANYTHING!!

WE HAD A BLOW OUT WITH OUR FPRD E350 14 PASSENGER VAN AND BF GOODRICH TIRES. NO ONE WAS HURT, DRIVING IN A RESEDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. RECALL REPLACED, HOWEVER SAME THING HAPPENING WITH REPLACEMENT TIRES. THEY ARE CRACKING. LT 254/75 R16 BE11 JD11 4712, 4512, 4912, & 5112 IS THERE A NEW RECALL FOR THESE TIRES?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD E-350. WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED FOR AN EXTENSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME, THE BATTERY FAILED AND COULD NOT BE JUMPSTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERIES FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED EIGHT TIMES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED TWO OIL LEAKS AND A DIESEL LEAK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
THIS IS A 2009 PLEASURE WAY EXCEL TS MOTOR HOME, BUILT BY PLEASURE WAY INDUSTRIES IN CANADA. THIS MOTOR HOME CAME WITH HANKOOK, DYNAPRO AS TIRES , SO FAR I HAVE HAD 3 OF THESE TIRES BLOW UP ON ME TRAVELING AT ABOUT 60 MPH, AND 2 MORE BUBBLING UP ON THE SIDE AND INSIDE, BUT THEY DID NOT BLOW SINCE I NOTICED IT AND INSTALL THE SPARE, ONE OF THIS LAST TWO THE BUBBLING WAS FOUND WHEN I REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES WITH NEW MICHELIN. THE 1ST 3 TIRES WERE REPLACED ON A PRORATED ORDER, I HAVING TO PAY FOR BALANCING AND MOUNTING. THE FIRST 3 TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH DYNAPRO HT TIRES WHICH 2 OF THEM FAILED THE SAME WAY. (THE SIDE WALL BUBBLES INSIDE AND OUT UNTIL IT BLOWS UP. THE LAST TWO TIRES HAVE NOT BEEN APPROVED FOR REPLACEMENT BY HANKOOK BECAUSE THEY WANT TO VISUALLY INSPECT THEM SO THE TIRES ARE HAVING TO BE SENT TO THEM BY THE SEARS AUTO CENTER IN CORAL GABLES, FLORIDA. IN THE MEAN TIME I HAVE INSTALLED MICHELIN TIRES, DO NOT TRUST HANKOOK WHAT SO EVER. I HAVE PHOTOS, INVOICES, MILEAGE WHEN ALL THESE TIRES FAILED, WHICH DEPENDING ON THE OUTCOME OF THIS COMPLAIN I CAN SEND THEM TO YOU SINCE YOU A LIMIT TO UPLOAD THESE ITEMS. I BELIEVE THERE IS A SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH THESE TIRE AS TO BE OVERRATED OR SOMETHING, EVEN THOUGH ONE OF THE TIRES WAS ON THE FRONT ON THE VEHICLE, AND NOT SUBJECT TO WEIGHT OR PRESSURE SINCE IT HAD 55 LBS OF AIR PRESSURE AND THEY ARE RATED TO 80 LBS. IN MY SAFETY CONCERN HAD ANY ON THIS TIRES WOULD OF HAVE BLOWN ON THE FRONT, I WOULD PROBABLY NOT BE WRITING THIS COMPLAIN, AND GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT ELSE COULD OF HAPPENED. ALL THESE TIRES HAVE FAILED FROM 05/23/2012 TO 04/19/2016 AND MILEAGE FROM 9690 TO 17323 MILES. PICTURED INCLUDED ARE ONLY FOR THE 09/16/2015 INCIDENT ONLY, I HAVE OTHERS IF NEEDED INCLUDING INVOICES.

VEHICLE BROKEDOWN WHILE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 45MPH ON SR20 IN WASHINGTON STATE WITHOUT WARNING AND BLOCKED TRAFFIC LANES, TOWED TO SHOP WHERE THEY FOUND CODE P0191, SWAPPED RELAY, UNABLE TO CRANK AND VERIFED NOT FUEL PRESSURE. FOUND BOLTS BROKEN OFF HOLDING INTERNAL FUEL PUMP, HAD TO REPLACE FUEL TANK AND PUMPS. WHEN FINSIHED VEHICLE WOULD NOT CRANK, FOUND BURN MARKES ON BACK OF INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FROM SHORT IN FUEL PUMP, REPLACED CLUSTER AND VEHICLE IS RUNNING FINE. MORE THAN A WEEK DOWN AND JUST UNDER $5,000.00 FOR REPAIRS FOR A FUEL PUMP FAILURE THAT IS INTERNAL TO THE FUEL TANK, THE BROKEN ATTACHMENT BOLTS AND INSTANT LOSS OF POWER (NOT BEING ABLE TO CLEAR THE ROADWAY) IS THE REASON FOR THIS FILING.
THERE IS A LOUD "POPPING" NOISE WHEN THE BRAKING OF THE VAN COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP. SOMETIMES I AM AFRAID THE VAN IS NOT GOING TO STOP ALL THE WAY. FROM WHAT I AM READING ONLINE, IT MAY BE UNDER PREVIOUS RECALL FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEM. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO GO ABOUT GETTING RECALL INFORMATION, ETC. TO HAVE A FORD DEALERSHIP FIX THIS PROBLEM. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD ECONOLINE E-350 SD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND MAKING A TURN WHEN A LOUD NOISE EMITTED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE UPPER AND LOWER BALL JOINTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE CAR WAS VIBRATING INCESSANTLY. A LOUD BANG, THUD HEARD FROM THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. PULL OFF THE SIDE OF HIGHWAY 220, SOUTHBOUND, ABOUT 10 MILES NORTH OF HICO, TX. THE ENTIRE RUBBER AROUND THE STEEL BELT WAS STRIPPED OFF. THE BLOW OUT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE RUNNING BOARD AND TIRE WHEEL AREA. I PURCHASED THESE 4 TIRES ON 7/21/11 SO THERE ARE ONLY 2 YRS OLD WITH ABOUT 20-25 MILES ON THEM. BEFORE THIS BLOW OUT, I ACTUALLY REPLACED TWO OF THE OTHER TIRES REPLACED WEEKS BEFORE. ONE ON OF THEM, THE CAR SHOOK VIOLENTLY AND THE TIRE HAD A GIANT BULGE. 3000 MILES LATER, ALMOST 2 WEEKS, THE SECOND TIRE STARTED STRIPPING OFF THE RUBBER AND TEARING APART. CAR SHOOK THEN TOO. THE THIRD TIRE (STORY IN FIRST PARAGRAPH) COMPLETELY TORE APART BEFORE WE COULD GET TO A SAFE SPOT TO CHECK IT OUT. WHEN EACH TIRE HAD A NOTICEABLE PROBLEM, I DID THE FOLLOWING: 1. FIRST TIRE: IMMEDIATELY WENT TO DISCOUNT TIRE COMPANY FOR REPAIR 2. SECOND TIRE: PUT ON SPARE (IT WAS JULY 4TH) 3. THIRD TIRE: PUT ON SPARE BECAUSE TREAD HAD SEPARATED. ONE TIME IS FLUKE, TWO TIMES IS A COINCIDENCE, THREE TIRES FAILING WITHIN 5 WEEKS IS A DEFINITE PATTERN. PLEASE REVIEW THESE TIRES. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON I215 IN SALT LAKE CITY UTAH AT 65MPH WHEN I HIT A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD AND THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK BEGAN SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND I COULD NOT REGAIN CONTROL BEFORE IT RAN ME OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH NARROWLY MISSING A CONCRETE BARRIER AND ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO IMPACT, HOWEVER I AM NOT SURE HOW I KEPT IT FROM ROLLING THE TRUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME IN THREE OTHER FORD TRUCKS RANGING FROM 2006 TO 2008 THAT I USED TO DRIVE AT WORK. AND NOW MY PERSONAL 2008 F350. I HEAR THAT THEY CALL IT THE DEATH WOBBLE. I WANT TO KNOW WHY THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD E-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING BECAME LOOSE AND DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 75 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED. THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME ABNORMALLY STIFF AND AS THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE TO THE ROAD SHOULDER, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND ABNORMALLY TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE LINES CONNECTED TO THE STEERING AND BRAKING SYSTEMS WAS COMPLETED RUSTED AND NEEDED REPLACING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED INSIDE AND HAD NOT BEEN EXPOSED TO THE OUTSIDE ELEMENTS FOR THE LINES TO BECOME RUSTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 17,000.
I WAS HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END OF MY VEHICLE, I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEMS. HE INSPECTED THE CONTROL ARMS, BALL JOINTS AND REBALANCED THE TIRES. HE BASICALLY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO CHANGE THE PROBLEM. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WAS DRIVING THE VAN TO WORK AND NOTICED THE FRONT END GETTING WORSE. I THEN CALLED INTO THE SHOP TO MAKE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT. WHEN I WAS DRIVING TO THE MECHANIC THE VAN STEERING WENT AND THE VAN BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE, SINCE I WAS ONLY A FEW MILES AWAY I MANAGED TO GET IT TO THE SHOP. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY THE MECHANIC HE TOLD ME THAT THE STEERING BOX WAS BAD AND INDICATED IT WAS VERY UNUSUAL FOR A 2008 WITH ONLY 60,000 MILES. I TOLD HIM TO FIX THE VEHICLE AND WHEN HE WENT TO THE PARTS DEALER TO PICK UP A NEW STEERING BOX THEY INDICATED THEY ARE SELLING ALLOT OF THESE OVER THE PAST COUPLE OF YEARS. WHEN HE REMOVE THE STEERING BOX FROM OUR VEHICLE FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION HE NOTICED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A FRACTURED MECHANICAL PART. WHICH MEANS IT WAS A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE, USUALLY A STEER BOX WILL GET LOOSE DUE TO WEARING COMPONENTS AND EVENTUALLY FAIL...THIS BROKE!!! HE ASKED ME TO CHECK WILL FORD TO SEE IF THIS STEERING BOX IN 2008 E350 VANS IS A RECALL ITEM, WHICH IT WASN'T. HE TOLD ME IF THIS FAILURE WAS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT WOULD HAVE RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT AND MAY HAVE BEEN FATALITY. I LOOKED FOR RECALL INFORMATION AND FOUND NOTHING, I'M NOW REACHING OUT VIA THE NHTSA TO HIGHLIGHT THIS ISSUE IN HOPES THAT THEY CAN ALERT PEOPLE AND BRING IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE MANUFACTURER. I ALSO WOULDN'T MIND SOME PAY BACK FOR THE $1,200 BILL I RECEIVED FROM OUR MECHANIC. *TR
WHILE DRIVING, THE REAR AND SIDE DOORS WILL POP. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF THEY'RE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED. THEY DO NOT COME OPEN JUST COME LOOSE. VERY WORRY SOME. I DO HOME CHILD CARE. I ALSO HAVE 7 CHILDREN OF MY OWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD E250 EQUIPPED WITH HANKOOK RH03 TIRES, SIZE LT245-75-R16. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT PREVIOUSLY, THE REAR TIRES WAS REPLACED DUE TO TREAD SEPARATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE DOT AND SERIAL NUMBER FOR THE TIRE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE WAS 52,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD E-350. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE CONTINUOUSLY MADE A CLANKING SOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BALL JOINTS AND CENTER STEERING SHAFT BROKE; AS A RESULT, BOTH COMPONENTS NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,000. UPDATED 07/06/12 *BF UPDATED 07/12/12

LOSS OF CONTROL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD DART ACROSS THE HIGHTWAY. TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A DEALER, DEALER FOUND DEFECTIVE BALL JOINTS AT 51,000MILES. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) T
THE STEERING ON THIS VAN IS VERY "LOOSE" CAUSING IT TO WANDER AND REQUIRE CONSTANT CORRECTION AT ALL SPEEDS. AT NORMAL HIGHWAY SPEEDS, HITTING ANY BUMPS CAUSES THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE TO SKIP OR SHIFT REQUIRING SIGNIFICANT STEERING CORRECTION AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE VERY UNSTABLE. MECHANICAL INSPECTION REVEALS NO FAILURE WITH ANY PARTS. (SHAME ON FORD FOR THIS VEHICLE)
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD ECONOLINE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SITTING IN IDLE THE BRAKES DON'T SEEM TO HOLD AND THE RPMS INCREASED UP TO 3500. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO ADVISED HIM THAT WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ADVISED HIM THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. UPDATED 07/08/11 *BF

TRAVELING WESTBOUND IN HWY 54 EAST OF STRATFORD, TX THE LEFT REAR TIRE EXPLODED ON OUR 2008 PLEASURE-WAY RV. THIS RV IS BUILT ON A FORD E350 CHASSIS. THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY BECAME UNCONTROLLABLE AND DRIFTED INTO THE PATH OF AN ONCOMING TRACTOR-TRAILER. DRIVER STEERED VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID THE ONCOMING TRUCK, THE RV CROSSED OVER THE ROAD INTO A DITCH ON THE RIGHT, AGAIN TURNED TO THE LEFT AND RE-ENTERED THE ROADWAY AT A SHARP ANGLE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL ONTO ITS RIGHT SIDE. PASSENGER 1 SUSTAINED A BROKEN RIGHT SHOULDER AND BACK INJURIES, PASSENGER 2 SUSTAINED A SEVERELY SPRAINED WRIST. TIRE PRESSURE WAS CHECKED BEFORE BEGINNING THE TRIP, AND TIRES WERE VISUALLY INSPECTED AT A REST STOP 90 MINUTES BEFORE INCIDENT. VEHICLE WAS LIGHTLY LOADED AND WELL BELOW GVWR. THESE WERE OEM TIRES WITH LESS THAN 10,000 MILES AND HAD ALWAYS BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING BEFORE THE TIRE FAILED. *TR
THE SIDE BACK DOORS TO MY FORD E350 12 PASSENGER VAN KEEP POPPING LOOSE WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS, WHETHER ON THE HIGHWAY OR IN URBAN AREAS. IT OCCURS ON A DAILY BASIS ABOUT EVERY 15-20 MILES. I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND OPEN BOTH DOORS AND RE-CLOSE. LOCKING THE DOORS DOES NOT HELP. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ADJUSTED THE DOORS AND OILED THE HINGES AND LATCHES. *TR
WAS DRIVING NORMALLY WHEN THE ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS CAME ON AND ALARM STARTED CHIMING. WHEN I PULLED OVER TO STOP THE ABS KICKED IN AND MY STOPPING DISTANCE GREATLY INCREASED. I HAD THE VAN TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE HE DISCOVERED CORROSION IN THREE ABS SPEED SENSORS. A TSB (TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN) CONFIRMED THIS TO BE AN ISSUE ONLY ON THIS YEAR AND MODEL VAN. MOISTURE IS GETTING INTO THESE SENSORS AND WITHOUT WARNING IT IS CAUSING NORMAL BRAKING FAILURE. *TR
EXCESSIVE SWAY AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD E350 EQUIPPED WITH TRAIL TRAC HERITAGE AP 245/75/R16 TIRES. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT AND RIPPED TO PIECES. AFTER THAT FAILURE, THE CONTACT HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE AND WHEN HE PULLED OVER, SAW THAT THE WHOLE TREAD HAD SEPARATED ON THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE. HE CONTACTED THE TIRE SHOP WHERE HE PURCHASED THE TIRES BUT WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT ASSIST HIM. THE CONTACT PURCHASED NEW TIRES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 46,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.

THE RATTLE CLIPS ON THE FRONT BRAKE PADS/CALIPERS ON FORD E 450 SERIES VIBRATE OUT OF POSITION WHILE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN. WE HAVE 12 OF THESE VEHICLES IN A FLEET AND THEY ARE ALL DOING THIS. *TR
THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE: DAILY, HIGHWAY AND CITY DRIVING IN NORMAL TRAFFIC CONDITIONS. VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 19,000 MILES. THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND REQUIRES A COMPLETE SWAP FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMING THE REPAIR COMMENTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PAN SHOWS WEAR OF A TRANSMISSION WITH 90,000 TO 100,000 MILES INSTEAD OF 19,000 MILES. THE CORRECTION TO THE FAILURE IS A COMPLETE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW TRANSMISSION BY FORD. *TR
WE ORDERED A NEW 2008 ECONOLINE E-350 XLT AND AFTER DRIVING WE DISCERNED THE STEERING WAS VERY LOOSE; IT HAD AN UNUSUAL AMOUNT OF "PLAY"; IT FLOATED AROUND THE ROAD. IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL ON THE HIGHWAYS ESPECIALLY AT HIGHER SPEEDS. WE BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND BOTH SERVICE MANAGER AND GENERAL MANAGER TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND CONFIRMED THERE WAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. VAN WAS BROUGHT IN FOR ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE. THEY "TIGHTENED" SOME PARTS (?) AND ASKED FOR ME TO DRIVE IT HOME AND REPORT BACK IF IT WERE ANY BETTER. CONTACTED THEM AGAIN AND INFORMED THEM THE PROBLEM REMAINED THE SAME. THEY SCHEDULED THE VAN AGAIN FOR ANOTHER APPOINTMENT/DIAGNOSIS AND THEY CONTACTED FORD TECH HOT LINE. FORD HOT LINE INFORMED THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS AND THERE MUST BE A FAULTY ENGINEERING DESIGN IN THE STEERING SYSTEM. THE FORD DEALER INFORMED US THAT THE VAN REQUIRED YET ANOTHER APPOINTMENT AND THAT THE BRAND NEW VAN THAT WAS JUST BUILT REQUIRED A RE-ALIGNMENT AT A SPECIALTY ALIGNMENT FACILITY. THE VAN WAS BROUGHT IN AGAIN AND WAS "REALIGNED" OR MAJOR ADJUSTMENTS WERE MADE TO THE STEERING SYSTEM. UPON OUR TEST DRIVE AFTER THE LAST "REPAIR" WE DETERMINED IT WAS WORSE THAN BEFORE, THE VAN FLOATED ACROSS THE ROAD AND PULLED TO THE LEFT SIDE. WE INFORMED THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT THE VAN REPAIR WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE, WE CONTACTED FORD CORP. HOT LINE AND INFORMED THEM WE WILL BEGIN LOOKING INTO THE STEPS TO TAKE REGARDING OUR STATE'S "LEMON LAWS." SIMULTANEOUSLY, AN ENGINEER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EAST COAST IS SCHEDULED TO INSPECT AND DIAGNOSE THE VAN'S STEERING ISSUES IN JANUARY. THE DANGERS ARE NUMEROUS AND OBVIOUS. OUR POSITION IS IT IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE THAT HAS AN ENGINEERING FAULTY DESIGN; IT WAS INCORRECTLY BUILT AND/OR DESIGNED AND WE ARE CONCERNED AS TO WHAT OTHER VEHICLE COMPONENTS HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THE FAULTY DESIGN. *TR
THIS IS NOT A FAILURE OR A MALFUNCTION BUT A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE STEERING PLAY IN THE 2008 FORD E350 VANS WHICH IS A RESULT OF THE DESIGN OF THE STEERING. *TR
THERE HAS BEEN NO CRASH TO DATE. THE COMPLAINT IS RELATED TO THE POOR DRIVING PERFORMANCE OF 2008 FORD F350 12 PASSENGER VANS. THE STEERING CONTROL IS VERY POOR AND MAY CAUSE ACCIDENTS. THERE IS SO MUCH "SLOP" IN THE STEERING THAT YOU CAN FEEL THE VEHICLE SWAY BACK AND FORTH WHILE DRIVING. IN SOME CASES, AT HIGHER FREEWAY SPEEDS, THE VAN STARTS TO FISHTAIL (LIKE A TRAVEL TRAILER WITH TOO MUCH WEIGHT IN THE BACK). WE HAVE ASKED OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM, BUT, THE STEERING IS STILL BAD. I HAVE OWNED MANY FORD VEHICLES AND HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM BEFORE. *TR
WE HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL ON DRIVING 55 MPH IN A VERY LIGHT WIND. FOR 20 MILES , HANDLING WAS ACCEPTABLE. WITHOUT WARNING THE VAN ROLLED TO THE LEFT ABOUT 15 DEGREES FOLLOWED BY A ROLL TO THE RIGHT ENTERING A SERIES OF ROLLS FIRST LEFT THEN TO THE RIGHT. EACH OSCILLATION WAS LARGER THAN THE LAST. RECOVERY WAS SUCCESSFUL BY SLOWING TO 30 MPH WITHOUT BRAKING. AIR BAGS WERE 55 PSI EACH FRONT TIRES WERE 55 PSI , REAR TIRES 80PSI. WATER TANK WAS EMPTY, GRAY AND BLACK WATER TANKS WERE EMPTY. THE VAN IS VERY DANGEROUS IF DRIVEN OVER 40MPH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD E-350. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SWAY FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO REMAIN IN THE INTENDED LANE. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. UPDATED 5/19/08 *CN UPDATED
