Service air bag light continually goes on and of randomly, at times does not recognize when someone is sitting in the passenger seat. This is a serious problem because when air bag light is on it disables the air bags which won’t deploy in a crash. I found that they recall the 2007 models for this exact problem, Now is the time to recall the 2008 for the exact same problem. This is a dealer only part which they gave me an estimate to fix of $900 if I could get a aftermarket part I would replace myself. Come on Gm recall this ongoing serious safety hazard!!!!
The contact's friend owed a 2008 Pontiac Torrent. The contact stated while the owner was driving at an unknown speed when he fell asleep and rear-ended a semi-truck. The contact was seated at the front passenger side and the air bag did not deploy but the front driver side air bag did deploy. AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON
THE VEHICLES AIRBAG SYSTEM WAS INTERMITTENT ON SHOWING THE AIRBAG LIGHT (SERVICE AIRBAG SOON). ALSO THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT GOES FROM ON TO OFF PERIODICALLY AND NOW LATER ON MONTHS LATER THE SYSTEM ALWAYS STAYS ON OFF EVEN WHEN SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE READ ABOUT OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE ON THEIR 2007 MODEL TORRENTS AND THEY HAVE A TSB FOR A RECALL ON THIS. HOWEVER MY 2008 TORRENT DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL? THIS IS UNSAFE, TOO EXPENSIVE FOR THE AVERAGE PERSON TO PAY TO FIX, AND A PROBLEM GM SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO FIX FOR USING FAULTY SRS COMPONENTS.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN, IT FEELS LIKE THE BRAKES ARE APPLIED ON THEIR OWN. THE SERVICE STABILTRAK LIGHT BLINKS, STABILITRAK OFF, AND TRACTION CONTROL OFF FLASH. IT FEELS AS IF THE WHEELS DO NOT SLOW AT THE SAME TIME. THE VEHICLE MAKES AN AWFUL NOISE.

I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO INDICATIONS OF HEADGASKET. OIL IS CLEAN, OVERFLOW IS FULL, NO LEAKS TO BE SEEN. OVERHEATS MOSTLY WHEN STANDING IDLE. VEHICLE IS A HEADACHE. HOW ARE THERE NO RECALLS FOR THIS VEHICLE WHEN MULTIPLE PEOPLE ARE STATING THE SAME ISSUES? VEHICLE IS DRIVING NORMALLY BESIDES THAT. MOST OF OUR DRIVING IS IN TOWN / HIGHWAY DRIVING (LESS THAN 20MILES DISTANCE). WE'VE ONLY PUT 10K ON THE VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASING 2 YEARS AGO.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EGR VALVE FAILURE SHOULD NOT HAVE SHUT OFF THE ABS. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE EGR VALVE AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
POWER WINDOW AND LOCKS STOPPED WORKING. WIRING HARNESS FROM DRIVERS DOOR TO BODY HAD SEVERAL BROKEN WIRES. HARNESS IS TOO SHORT AND WIRE IS UNDERSIZED FOR APPLICATION AND HARD, CRACKED AND BROKEN. OTHER DOORS WILL LIKELY MALFUNCTION.8

WHEN FILLING UP CAR WITH GAS, GAS WAS PROFUSELY LEAKING FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP 6 MONTHS PRIOR. WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT IN THE FUEL NECK AND PONTIAC IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE, AND HAS A NEW 'KIT' THAT CAN BE INSTALLED ON CARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY. OUT OF POCKET REPAIR COST IS $670.

THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT AND STABILITRACK STATE THAT IT NEEDS SERVICE. WHEN I DRIVE IT THE BRAKES STOP THE CAR ON ITS OWN. I TOOK THE CAR TO GMC AND IT COST ME $1700 FOR THEM TO FIX BRAKE PRESSURE MODULE, BRAKE ELECTRIC CONTROL PANEL, I REPLACED HUB BEARINGS AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. SINCE THOSE THINGS WERE REPLACED, I CAN DRIVE A LITTLE LONGER WITHOUT THE HUB BEARINGS. I TOOK MY CAR TO GMC 3 TIMES. AND MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND THEY SAID THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED, HOW WHEN IT WAS NEVER USED.

HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO SITTON BUICK GMC WHERE THE DEALER WAS AGAIN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE RECURRED AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO SITTON BUICK GMC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC MODULATOR HAD FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ONCE AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO SITTON BUICK GMC WHERE THE VEHICLE HAD NOT YET BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000.

I WANTED TO ADD TO ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR. WE KEEP GETTING NOTIFICATION THAT IT NEEDS TO BE SERVICED WHICH COSTS UPWARDS OF $900. AT FIRST THE LIGHT JUST KEPT SWITCHING ON AND OFF WHENEVER THE PASSENGER WOULD SHIFT IN THE SEAT BUT NOW IT SAYS THAT IT'S NOT ACTIVATED ALL THE TIME AND WE BELIEVE IT'S A FAULTY SENSOR. THE 2007 MODEL WAS RECALLED FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE AND THE 2008 SHOULD BE AS WELL. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR SURE AND WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS ACROSS THE BOARD BY OWNERS OF THIS CAR IT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF AT NO EXPENSE TO THE OWNER. THE AIR BAGS STILL DON'T WORK AND THE LIGHT STILL OFF AND ON WHETHER SOMEONE IS SITTING THERE OR NOT. THE DEALER WILL REPAIR FOR TOTAL OF $900.00 OR MORE. I RECENTLY SMELLED FUEL STRONG IN THE CAR AND OUTSIDE. TOOK TO DEALER AND I SEE OTHERS COMPLAINING TOO ABOUT THIS. NO NE INFORMED OWNERS THAT THERE IS A SPECIAL WARRANTY TO REPAIR PART OF THE PROBLEM FOR FREE. THE FUEL PUMP WAS CRACKED WITH ONLY 43K MILES ON VEHICLE. THE VENT SOLENOID WAS NOT COVERED YET IT IS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION AND DEFECTIVE BUT I HAD BEEN CHARGED EXTRA 302.00 AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THEY DIDN'T INCLUDE IN THE RECALLS? BOTH OF THESE ITEMS WERE FOUND DEFECTIVE BUT ONLY ONE WAS RECALLED PRIVATELY. UNLESS YOU ACTUALLY BRING TO DEALER YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SPECIAL RECALL WARRANTY OFFERED. I HAVE A FUEL LEAK ON MY 2008 PONTIAC TORRENT. BASICALLY RECALL NUMBER 12V459000 FOR THE 2007 TORRENT. THE PLASTIC SUPPLY OR RETURN PORT ON THE FUEL PUMP MODULE MAY CRACK, WHICH COULD CAUSE A FUEL LEAK. MY YEAR VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL, WHEN IT SHOULD BE. THIS IS MY EXACT PROBLEM.THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN MORE THAN JUST THE 2007 TORRENT. THE FIX IS OVER $700. I SMELLED GAS THROUGH THE VENTS WHILE DRIVING, NOTICED SOME JERKING OR "SKIPPING" IN THE GAS PETAL BEING PUSHED. I PARKED AND THE GAS SMELL WAS VERY STRONG. IT IS DRIPPING FROM THE BACK BY THE GAS TANK AND ALSO UP BY THE ENGINE. MY MECHANIC SAID THAT THE LEAK IS FROM THE PLASTIC PIECES ON THE FUEL PUMP AND THE LEAK IS ACTUALLY RUNNING DOWN THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK DEPENDING ON IF I'M GOING DOWNHILL OR TURNING. HE ADVISES ME NOT TO DRIVE MY TRUCK.

NEXT POWER STEERING WENT OUT NOT LONG AFTER HAD THE POWER ISSUE FIXED. NEXT THE DRIVER DOOR WOULD NO LONGER LOCK. HAD THAT FIXED IN 2015. THEN IN 2015 STARTED NOTICING THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS JUST GOING ON AND OFF FOR THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN SOMEONE WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT. AND THEY ALL MEET/EXCEED THE WEIGHT NEEDED TO ACTIVATE. NOW THE AIRBAG JUST STAYS OFF. NOW THE AIRBAG SENSOR IS SHOWING NOT ACTIVATED FOR THE DRIVER SIDE. AND THE SEAT BELT LIGHTS ARE BLINKING. ALSO NOW I AM BEING TOLD THE FUEL PUMP ALSO NOW NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IN THE CAR SMELL STRONG FUMES AT TIMES. ALSO EXPERIENCE SPUTTERING ONCE REACHES 40 MPH AND AGAIN AROUND 60. ALSO ANYTIME WE ARE ON AN INCLINE. AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AGAIN ON THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND IMPACT WAS A PICKUP TRUCK 1992 HEAVY DUTY HIT US AT APPROX. 60 MPH. HE NEVER HIT BREAKS AND WE KEPT GOING TIL I WAS STOPPED ON THE ROOF OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. I STARTED TO SMELL FUEL WHILE IDLING ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID THAT THE WHOLE GAS TANK HAD TO COME OUT & BE REPAIRED AS THERE WAS A HAIR LINE CRACK IN THE FUEL PUMP WHICH WAS LEAKING GAS. HAD TO PAY $1008.12 USD FOR LABOR, PARTS AND DIAGNOSTIC.

RETURNED TO VEHICLE AFTER SHOPPING AND POWER STEERING ASSIST NO LONGER WORKED. THIS CONTINUED FOR ALMOST A WEEK WHILE I DID MY RESEARCH ON ELECTRIC STEERING SYSTEMS SO THAT I COULD PERFORM REPAIRS. STEERING ISSUED CLEARED ON ITS OWN.. CAR ONLY HAD LESS THAN 60,000 MILES AT THE TIME.
SERVICE STABILITRAC LIGHT CAME ON EVERY TIME THE CAR WAS UNDER HARD OR FULL THROTTLE ON DRY PAVEMENT. UNIT TAKEN TO THE DEALER UNDER WARRANTY AND I WAS SENT A BILL TO TEST THE UNIT AND TOLD THAT UNIT NEEDED A NEW MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. TOOK UNIT HOME, MASS AIR FLOW TESTED OUT FINE. I REPLACED THE SENSOR ONE MONTH LATER AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS TO THIS DATE. I HAVE TESTED EVERY SENSOR RELATED TO THE STABILITRAC SYSTEM ON THIS UNIT AND ALL ARE FINE. GENERAL MOTORS HAS AN ISSUE WITH THIS STABILTRAC SYSTEM BUT IS FAILING TO ADMIT. RESEARCH ON MULTIPLE GM PRODUCTS VERIFIES A CONSISTENT ISSUE ACROSS THE BOARD. THIS SHOULD BE A SAFETY RECALL AS IT SHUTS DOWN MANY OF THE INSTALLED SAFETY SYSTEMS WHEN THE SERVICE STABILTRAC LIGHT COMES ON AND THE STABILITRAC GOES INACTIVE. I HAVE WORKED ON CARS FOR OVER 35 YEARS AND KEEP UP TO DATE ON HOW NEWER SYSTEMS FUNCTION. I AM NOT BITTER TOWARDS GM AS I HAVE OWNED OVER 20 GM PRODUCTS IN MY LIFE. UPON CHECKING ONLINE I FOUND MULTIPLE RECALLS ON OTHER GM VEHICLES OF THE SAME YEAR FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. ALSO THE 2007 TORRENT MODEL WAS RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE SO I DON'T KNOW WHY MY MODEL ISN'T SINCE IT IS THE SAME ISSUE AS EVERYTHING ELSE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED. AFTER SEEING THE RECALLS FOR THE 2007 TORRENT, I BELIEVE GM HAS KNOWN ALL ALONG ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND SEVERAL RECALLS SHOULD HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR THE 2008 TORRENT.

VALVE SPRING ON CYLINDER 6 COLLAPSED AND CREATED A MISFIRE ON THAT CYLINDER. THE HEAD HAD TO BE REMOVED AND MACHINED. IT CAUSED BAD ACCELERATION FROM IDLE TO ALMOST 10MPH. THEY REPLACED THE SPRING, ROCKER, AND PUSH ROD AMONG OTHER THINGS, I.E. GASKETS.
I HAD A CODE P0008 FOR CAMSHAFT POSITIONING SENSOR ON FIRST INCIDENT AND TIMING CHAINS WERE REPLACED IN JANUARY 2012. I HAD APPROXIMATELY 52,465 MILES ON THE CAR. I HAD SECOND CODE P0008 IN MAY 2014 WITH APPROXIMATELY 70,759 MILES ON THE CAR. THE TIMING CHAINS WERE STRETCHED AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS INDICATES TO ME, THAT PROBLEM IS IN SEAT CUSHION. FROM READING OTHER COMPLAINTS, THIS WAS AN ISSUE ON EARLIER MODELS, AND GM IS AWARE. I HEARD A SLIGHT CLATTERING COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD ONE AFTERNOON ON MY WAY TO TOWN. I PULLED OVER THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, CALLED ON STAR TO ASK THEM TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC.THE ON STAR ADVISER SAID TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER TRAIN.I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER CHECKING OUT THE CAR THEY SAID HALF OF THE MOTOR WAS NOT GETTING OIL PUMPED TO IT, IT HAS A DUAL OVERHEAD CAM. THEY SAID IT HAD BEEN GOING ON FOR SOME TIME AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHY THE OIL WOULDN'T GET THROUGH TO BOTH PARTS OF THE MOTOR. IT HAD SOME SORT OF "CLOG" IN IT, BUT COULD NOT SPECIFY WHERE. I WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR OR THEY COULD BREAK IT DOWN AND FIND THE PROBLEM BUT IT WOULD BE MORE EXPENSIVE TO DO IT THIS WAY. I ENDED UP PAYING $7098 FOR A NEW MOTOR. THE EXTENDED WARRANTY HAD ALREADY EXPIRED, I PAID THE CAR OFF THE MONTH BEFORE AND WAS TOLD THEY HAD NO RECALLS ON THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. I TOOK EXCELLENT CARE OF THIS VEHICLE, CHANGED THE OIL EVERY 2800 MILES AND USED A HIGH GRADE FILTER AND SYNTHETIC OIL. THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT GIVE AN EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS HAPPENED. I BELIEVE THERE WAS A DEFECTIVE PART IN THE MOTOR TO CAUSE THIS PROBLEM.

IT IS NOW SITTING IN THE LOT AT WORK, WHILE WE TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. WE LIVE IN A SMALL TOWN AND THE NEAREST GM DEALER, THAT WORKS ON PONTIAC, IS OVER 40 MINUTES AWAY, ON A BUSY FREEWAY. I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED LAST FALL, AND IT HAS RUN PERFECTLY SINCE WE BOUGHT IT. I ONLY DRIVE IT 5 - 10 MILES A DAY, AND ONLY TAKE IT OUT OF TOWN ONCE IN A WHILE.

I HAD TO REPLACE MY TIRES VERY EARLY ON DUE TO PREMATURE WEAR (I THINK ABOUT 35K MILES) SO THAT IS THE FIRST ISSUE. AFTER CHANGING MY TIRES, I NOTICED THE VEHICLE'S TRACTION CONTROL SEEMS TO FAIL. I WILL BE AT A DEAD STOP AND GO TO ACCELERATE WHEN MY TIRES SLIP AND THE TRACTION FLASHES. I HAD MY TIRES LOOKED AT AND THEY WERE DEEMED TO BE FINE. NOW THAT IT IS SNOWING, IT WAS AT ITS WORST TODAY. IT WAS FISHTAILING WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON SNOW/ICY ROADS AND THE TIRES WON'T GRIP THE ROAD AT ALL FOR THE FIRST 400 FEET OR SO EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO FROM A STOP. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 PONTIAC TORRENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STABILITRAK WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR CORRECTION OF THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND PERFORMED A BRAKE SYSTEM FLUSH. IN ADDITION, THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED, THE BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE WAS REPLACED AND THE STEERING POSITIONING SENSOR WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE REMEDIES FAILED TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
USING AUTOMATIC START FEATURE CAUSED HEATING ELEMENT IN DRIVER SEAT TO OVER HEAT AND BURN THROUGH SEAT. COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE IN VEHICLE BUT VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND TAKEN TO THE GM DEALERSHIP WHO REFUSED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE, MANUFACTURE DEFECT WHICH THEIR SERVICE MANAGER AGREED THAT IT WAS A DEFECT AND SAFETY ISSUE BUT WANTS THE CONSUMER TO ABSORB COST FOR DEFECT. *TR
IN MAY OF 2012, I NOTICED A STRONG FUEL SMELL COMING FROM THE RIGHT REAR OF MY VEHICLE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT THAT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A BAD FUEL CAP, SO I REPLACED IT. THAT DID NOT HELP. SINCE I WAS PLANNING A TRIP ACROSS COUNTRY I HAD A MECHANIC FRIEND CHECK IT OUT. HE SAID THAT HE COULD NOT TELL WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I HAVE A FULL TANK OR IF IT IS ALMOST ON EMPTY, THE SMELL IS THE SAME. IT HAS BEEN SIX MONTHS NOW AND I STILL HAVE THAT HORRIBLE SMELL. I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM GIVE ME SOME ADVICE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE TANK WOULD HAVE TO BE DROPPED TO SEE IT THEY CAN TELL WHERE IT IS COMING FROM. NOTED GAS SMELL AROUND THE BACK OF VEHICLE. REVIEWED FOR POSSIBLE GAS CAP ISSUE BUT THIS WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. FURTHER REVIEW FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE IDENTIFIED A SMALL GAS LEAK COMING FROM THE TOP OF THE GAS TANK. GAS TANK IS LOCATED NEXT TO EXHAUST PIPE THAT COULD CAUSE FIRE. TOOK VEHICLE TO NOTED DEALER AND THEY CONDUCTED A MORE DETAIL REVIEW OF PROBLEM THAT WAS IDENTIFIED GAS LEAK WAS COMING FROM TOP OF GAS TANK (FUEL PUMP AND LINES ISSUE) AND IF NOT NOTED OR ATTENDED TO COULD RESULT IN POSSIBLE IGNITION OF GAS TANK, EXPLOSION AND POSSIBLE LOST OF PASSENGER LIFE. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN ANY KIND OF ACTIVITY THAT WOULD ENHANCE THIS KIND OF PROBLEM. CLEARLY A VEHICLE DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO AVOID POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUES. A RECALL SHOULD BE REVIEWED. THIS ISSUE SHOULD WARRANT COMPLETE WARRANTY COVERAGE BY VEHICLE AT NO EXPENSE TO OWNER. NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE BUT A DEFECTIVE SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

I PURCHASED A NEW SET OF BRIDGESTONE TIRES IN FEBRUARY 2010 THAT WERE RATED AT 80,000 MILES. I HAD THEM ROTATED ON A REGULAR BASIS. I JUST WENT IN FOR ANOTHER TIRE ROTATION WHICH DISCOUNT TIRE REFUSED TO PERFORM DUE TO THE UNSAFE CONDITION OF MY TIRES. I ONLY GOT 36,982 MILES OUT OF THE BRIDGESTONE TIRES, WHICH WERE SUPPOSED TO BE RATED AT 80,000 MILES. IN ADDITION TO THE FACT THAT I DID NOT GET EVEN CLOSE TO THE NUMBER OF MILES RATED ON THE TIRES, I FOUND OUT THAT BRIDGESTONE HAD CHANGED THE RATING ON THE TIRES TO 0 MILES. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT BRIDGESTONE DID NOT INFORM ME, AS THE CUSTOMER, OF THIS QUALITY/SAFETY CONCERN ON THE TIRES. INSTEAD I HAD TO HEAR OF THE PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES FROM DISCOUNT TIRE AT THE TIME OF ROTATION. LASTLY, THE FACT THAT BRIDGESTONE CHANGED THE RATING ON THE TIRES FROM 80,000 MILES TO 0 MILES IS AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT FROM THE BRIDGESTONE COMPANY THAT THERE IS A WEAR CONCERN WITH THESE TIRES. DISCOUNT TIRE INFORMED ME THAT BRIDGESTONE WOULD ONLY GIVE ME CREDIT FOR $37.00 TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF EACH NEW TIRE. A WEAR CONCERN SUCH AS THIS WOULD MAKE ME EXPECT A RECALL NOTICE AND NEW TIRES WOULD BE PROVIDED TO ME AT THE EXPENSE OF BRIDGESTONE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM APPALLED AT BRIDGESTONE'S CONDUCT. OBVIOUSLY BRIDGESTONE DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR TIRES. VALVE STEM BROKE ONCE BY REMOVING VALVE STEM CAP AND THE OTHER ONE REMOVING TIRE PUMP NOZZLE. BOTH TIMES TIRES WENT COMPLETELY FLAT IN SECONDS. DEALERSHIP CHARGED ME ABOUT $325 TO REPLACE THESE TIRE STEMS. THIS LEAVES ME WITH 2 MORE IN QUESTION. MY FAMILY RIDES IN THIS VEHICLE WITH ME A LOT. NOTICED A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT SIMILAR INCIDENTS AND CONCERNS. THE DEALERSHIP ACTUALLY SUGGESTED THESE PROBABLY GOT BROKE AT A CAR WASH. THEY BOTH BROKE IN FRONT OF MY FACE TRYING TO ADD AIR. SOMEONE WILL DIE BECAUSE OF THESE TIRES. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS, I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A TURN. THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND IN A NORMAL MANNER. AS I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, AT FIRST THERE WAS NO RESPONSE AS IF THE BRAKES HAD NOT BEEN APPLIED. THE CAR CONTINUED MOVING AT THE SAME SPEED. AS I CONTINUED TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE CAR DID SLOW DOWN, BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT FEEL NORMAL. THE PEDAL FELT AS IF IT WERE MOVING THROUGH SOME SORT OF THICK LIQUID. THE INCIDENT LASTED A FEW SECONDS. I HAD TO MAKE THE TURN AT A SPEED THAT WAS TOO HIGH. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT. SINCE THEN, THE BRAKES HAVE BEHAVED NORMALLY. I HAD THE DEALER CHECK MY BRAKES. THEY FOUND NOTHING AND CHARGED ME FOR A BRAKE INSPECTION EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE, THEY CLAIM, THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED GM IN RESPONSE TO MY COMPLAINT. AT GM'S INSTRUCTIONS, MY BRAKES WERE CHECKED AGAIN AND AGAIN NOTHING WAS FOUND. TODAY, A GM REPRESENTATIVE DROVE THE CAR AND FOUND NOTHING. THE APPROACH HAS BEEN TO TRY TO REPRODUCE THE ERROR. SINCE THE BRAKES NOW WORK, THEY CAN'T FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG TO CAUSE THE BRAKE FAILURE. THE COMPANY HAS DONE ALL THEY INTEND TO DO AND I AM LEFT DRIVING A CAR UNDER WARRANTY THAT HAS SOME KIND OF BRAKE DEFECT. I CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THE NEXT TIME IT OCCURS, I CAN AVOID AN ACCIDENT. DURING THE SECOND VISIT, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MUST BE KEPT FOR A FEW DAYS AND MUST BE BROUGHT IN WHILE THE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED.
