MY FUEL PUMP ISSUE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL ON MY TRUCK. I'VE TRIED FOR A MONTH TO GET IT INTO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND KEEP BEING PUT OFF TIL THE NEXT WEEK. IT FINALLY QUIT COMPLETELY AND I HAD IT TOWED. I WAS PUT OFF ANOTHER WEEK. I CALLED THE FOLLOWING WEEK TO BE TOLD AGAIN IT WOULD BE ANOTHER WEEK ON MY TRUCK. I TOLD THE SUPERVISOR THAT WASN'T ACCEPTABLE AND WAS INFORMED IF I DIDN'T LIKE HOW HE DID BUISNESS TO COME AND GET MY TRUCK.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN I ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE PUSHED ENTIRELY TO FLOOR TO ENGAGE. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO GET THE TRUCK TO SLOW DOWN. LUCKILY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE MADE I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TRUCK TO STOP. I TOOK THE TRUCK TO NISSAN TO BE EVALUATED. THEY STATED IT WAS A FAILURE OF THE ABS ACTUATOR AND SAID THEY LOOKED IT UP AND THERE WERE NO RECALLS AT THIS TIME. THE FAILURE OF THIS PART COULD HAVE COST ME MY LIFE.
AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY RAN OFF ROAD LOST CONTROL HIT 6 TREES AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY PASSENGER OR PASSENGER SIDE. *TT
MY TITAN HAS ONLY 34617 MILES ON IT AND THE POWER STEERING UNIT WENT BAD AND ALSO SENT METAL SHAVINGS INTO THE RACK AND PINION STEERING. I HAVE TO PAY NISSAN $1200.00 DOLLARS TO FIX THE POWER STEERING UNIT AND TRY TO FLUSH OUT THE METAL SHAVINGS.IF THEY CAN'T FLUSH OUT THE SYSTEM ADD ANOTHER $2500.00 TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION STEERING ON MY TRUCK. $4000.00 TO FIX MY TRUCK WITH LESS THAN 35000 MILES ON IT. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO A VEHICLE WITH LOW MILES AND HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED AND PAMPERED SINCE I BOUGHT IT.I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF THIS TRUCK AND NISSAN SHOULD HAVE TO FOOT THIS BILL! HELP!!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING UNKNOWN SPEEDS, SPARKS EMERGED FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL WELL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (BOB RICHARDS NISSAN, 5590 JEFFERSON DAVIS HIGHWAY, BEECH ISLAND, SC 29842), BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A TECHNICIAN SPECIALIST EVALUATED THE VEHICLE AND RECOMMENDED A VEHICLE REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 29363883. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT MEET THE LEMON LAW REQUIREMENTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
PART NUMBER 25060-ZQ60D HAD TO BE REPLACED ON MY VEHICLE. NOTICED THAT A CANCELLED RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE HAD REPLACED A 25060-ZQ60B. SAME DESCRIPTION HAPPENED WITH MY VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING AND GAS GAUGE WAS READING A 1/4 TANK OF GAS. THE VEHICLE SHUTDOWN WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE OF NO GAS IN FUEL TANK. I MADE A COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN AND WAS TOLD SINCE THE RECALL WAS CANCELLED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO REIMBURSE ME.
I DON'T NEED TO PRESS THE BRAKE TO PUT IN OR OUT OF GEAR. ACTUALLY I DON'T EVEN NEED THE KEY TURNED ON. MANUAL SHIFT/ TOW HAUL BUTTON DOESN'T WORK .FRONT END MAKES ALL SORTS OF CLUNKING NOISE.ALTOUGH EVERY THING SEEMS TIGHT EATS A EVAP SENSORS AND BRAKES. 105K MILES STILL DRIVING DAILY
FUEL TANK ON NISSAN TITTAN CREATE A SMALL EVAP LEAK THAT REQUIRES REPLACING THE ENTIRE TANK AT AN ENORMOUS COST
MULTIPLE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL LEAKS ON PRO-4X MODEL, RESULTING IN FRONT DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE. FIRST DIFFERENTIAL LEAK OCCURRED AT 40,000. SECOND LEAK OCCURRED WITHIN A AFTER THE FIRST WAS REPLACED. BOTH REPLACEMENT SEALS ARE/WERE GENUINE NISSAN PARTS.
EXHAUST LEAK UNDERNEATH ABS ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS LEADING TO DAMAGE OF ABS ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS AND POSSIBLE ABS FAILURE.
A FIRE, SEEMING TO START UNDER THE DASH, SPONTANEOUSLY ERUPTED AND DESTROYED THE ENTIRE VEHICLE AND SOME VERY EXPENSIVE PROPERTY IN THE BED. THE TRUCK WAS SETTING STILL AT THE TIME. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED CASE. I HAVE NEVER INSTALLED ANY AFTER MARKET EQUIPMENT ON THE VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED BY THE DEALER FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THE DEALER NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LOUDER THAN NECESSARY. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CRACKED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND THE GAUGES FLUCTUATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDOWS OPERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,000.
HEADLAMP UNIT FAILURE ON THIS VEHICLE. WATER INTRUSION INTO THE UNIT CAUSING MOISTURE BUILDUP WITH RESULTING CLOUDINESS, CALCIUM LIKE ETCHING, AND SPIDER WEB-LIKE CRACKING OF THE PLASTIC LENS. POOR UV SUN BLOCKING ABILITY OF THE PLASTIC LENS TO RETARD YELLOWING & CLOUDING. THESE DEFECTS IN THE HEADLAMP UNIT CONSTRUCTION PRESENT A SAFETY HAZARD ISSUE AT NIGHT AS IT REDUCES THE EFFECTIVENESS AND ABILITY TO PROJECT LIGHT BEAM AT LEVELS NECESSARY FOR CLEAR VISUAL FIELD. THIS VEHICLE HAS INCURRED COMPLETE HEADLAMP UNIT ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENTS TO BOTH DRIVER & PASSENGER SIDES TWICE SINCE VEHICLE PLACED INTO NEW SERVICE IN 2009. IT APPEARS THE CHEAP PLASTIC LENS COVERS USED IN MANUFACTURING IS THE CULPRIT. USE OF GLASS FOR LENS WOULD ELEMINATE THESE PROBLEMS AS GLASS DOES NOT DETERIORATE WITH SUN OR MOISTURE.
NOTICED A SMALL FLUID LEAK UNDER MY CAR, IT LOOKED LIKE RADIATOR FLUID. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER TO CHECK IT OUT. WHEN THE NISSAN TECHNICIANS INVESTIGATED THE LEAK THEY INFORMED ME THE LEAK WAS FROM THE SEAMS OF THE RADIATOR AND THE RADIATOR REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS COMMON AND ROUTINE WEAR AND TEAR FOR NISSAN. THE 2009 TITAN HAS JUST OVER 41,000 MILES AND IS ONLY DRIVEN ON PAVED ROADS. IT HAS NO OFF-ROAD MILEAGE. I DO NOT BELIEVE A PROPERLY DESIGNED RADIATOR SHOULD LEAK FROM THE SEAMS AFTER 6 YEARS AND LOW MILEAGE.
THE SEAT FOAM IS POOR QUALITY - THE SEAT FRAME CUT THROUGH THE FOAM AND I CAN NOW FEEL IT ON MY BACK AND BOTTOM SEAT. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY NISSAN REPLACED THE BACK SEAT FOAM TWO OR THREE TIMES DUE TO THE FRAME PUSHING THROUGH THE FOAM. NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND UNLESS I WANT TO SPEND A $1,000+ TO REPLACE THE SEAT I AM STUCK WITH THE PLEASURE OF FEELING THE METAL FRAME PUSHING INTO ME IN WHILE DRIVING VICE THE COMFORT OF THE CUSHIONS THAT SHOULD BE BETWEEN THE SEAT FRAME AND ME. I DOUBT IT IS SAFE TO HAVE SUCH LITTLE CUSHION BETWEEN ME AND THE SEAT FRAME IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.
STARTED AS A METAL DRAGGING NOISE UNDER THE VEHICLE.. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR IN TO MY GARAGE FOR REPAIR.. THEY FOUND THE THE PASSENGER EMERGENCY BRAKE DRUM HAD DECINTAGRATED AND WELDED ITSELF TO REAR BRAKES.. ALSO DRIVERS SIDE WAS ALSO DAMAGED.. GARAGE REPLACED THE TOTAL REAR BRAKE ASSEMBLY DO TO THE DAMAGE FOR FEAR THAT I WAS AT A HIGH RISK FOR A CRASH..
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO DISPLAY THE CORRECT FUEL LEVEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V074000 (FUEL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
I BOUGHT MY NISSAN VERSA 2009 IN HENDERSON NISSAN IN NEVADA. 9 MONTHS AFTER (11/23/2009) THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHTS WENT ON . I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER SHIP AND THEY FIX. NOW LAST FEB.09,2015 THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS FLASHING. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP WERE I BOUGHT MY CAR TO CHECK FOR THAT PROBLEM. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR NEED A NEW AIRBAG AND SPIRAL CABLE THAT WILL COST ME $1241. I ASK THEM WHY, THIS IS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR IT. THEY SAY BECAUSE I DONT HAVE ANY MORE WARRANTY. I SAID THIS IS ONE OF THE SAFETY FEATURE OF THE CAR. BUT STILL THEY INSIST ON THE WARRANTY. I ASKED THE GUY IF IT IS NOT FIX WHAT WILL HAPPEND, HE SAID THE AIG BAG WILL NOT INFLATE IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT. SO I CALL THE NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICE TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE BUT THEY SAY THEY CANNOT HELP ME. I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR THAT KIND OF AMOUNT. MY CAR IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD AND THE MILEAGE IS ONLY 56,147. WHY AM I HAVING THIS PROBLEM TO SOON. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS SENSOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FLANGE ON THE EXHAUST PIPE WAS RUSTED ALONG WITH THE TWO BOLTS AND THERE WAS A CRACK ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TO BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION, DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,400.
AFTER DRIVING FOR 20 MINUTES WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL PREVIOUSLY ON AND SET AND STILL ON BUT NOT ACTIVATED, I MOMENTARILY APPLIED THE BRAKES AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH THEN LIFTED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT THAT HAD RETURNED GREEN THE TRUCK BEGAN TO RAPIDLY ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN WITHOUT MY ASSISTANCE OF APPLYING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. QUICKLY RECOGNIZING THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION SITUATION I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BRAKES AND WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE TRUCK WITHOUT INCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN A PHOTO OF THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WITHIN A FEW MINUTES OF THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CAPTURING VEHICLE OPERATING CONDITIONS DURING THE INCIDENT. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT COULD RESULT SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. VEHICLE INFORMATION SHOULD BE DOWNLOADED FROM ONBOARD COMPUTERS RIGHT AWAY. PLEASE IDENTIFY WHERE THE DOWNLOAD SHOULD TAKE PLACE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE SERVICE LIGHT AND SLIP LIGHT ILLUMINATED THEN THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR AND ECM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 77,250.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PUSHED TO THE FLOOR WITH NO RESPONSE. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,800. UPDATED 04/22/14 MA ACCORDING TO THE INVOICE, THE BRAKE HOSE WAS LEAKING. UPDATED 04/24/14
IN JULY 2013, I NOTICED A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR WHEEL WHILE DRIVING. WHEN I GOT HOME I TOOK THE WHEEL OFF AND IT WAS NOTED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE PAD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAD SEPARATED FROM THE BRAKE SHOE ITSELF. THERE WERE BIG CHUNKS OF BRAKE PAD STUCK IN THE WHEEL. THE PIECES WERE REMOVED AND PLACED IN A BAG. I BROUGHT THE PIECES TO MY LOCAL DEALER ON THE NEXT OIL CHANGE AND INQUIRED WHY THIS HAPPENED. THE SERVICE REP SAID THAT THIS TYPE OF THING HAPPENED MORE OFTEN THAN YOU WOULD THINK. IN JANUARY 2014, I KEPT HEARING A THUMPING NOISE COMING FROM MY PASSENGERS SIDE REAR WHEEL. I WROTE TO NISSAN ABOUT THE PARTS QUALITY AND SAFETY CONCERNS I HAD AND THEY WANTED THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BY A CERTIFIED NISSAN DEALER TO ESTABLISH THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM AND WHETHER IT WAS A COVERED PART. ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER, SOMETHING SHIFTED IN MY REAR WHEEL ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE CAUSING A LOUD GRINDING NOISE. THE APPROX. SPEED WAS 25 MPH. WHEN THE SERVICE TECH AT THE DEALER PULLED THE WHEEL OFF, HE FOUND THE PARKING BRAKE PADS TO BE SEPARATED FROM THE BRAKE SHOES. THE PADS BECAME ENTANGLED IN THE WHEEL CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE. THE TRUCK REQUIRED NEW BRAKE SHOES, ADJUSTER ASSEMBLIES, SPRING SET, AND TOGGLE LEVER. NISSAN ULTIMATELY DECLINED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE REPAIR. I FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THE PARTS ARE NOT WEARING OUT LIKE THEY SHOULD, THEY ARE FAILING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING SERVICED, THE TECH POINTED OUT THAT THE EXHAUST FLANGE THAT CONNECTS MY TAILPIPE TO THE MUFFLER HAD ROTTED OUT. I HAPPENED TO NOTICE THAT THERE IS A CURRENT COMPLAINT(ID#10485804) ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE. A DECENT PART OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO REPLACE THIS PART. THIS APPEARS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW. *TR
WEATHER CONDITIONS RAPIDLY CHANGED FROM DRY PAVEMENT TO SNOW COVERED ROADS. DOING ABOUT 20 MPH I TRIED TO ENGAGE MY 4WD HI. ALL I HEARD WAS A SLIGHT GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE REAR CAB OF MY TRUCK. THE 4WD SYSTEM WOULD NOT ENGAGE. SO I PULLED OVER THEN TRIED TO TURN ON THE 4WD. NO NOISES AND THE 4WD INDICATOR LIGHT TURNED ON AS USUAL. GO TO DRIVE OFF THINKING THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED AND REALIZED THAT NOT ALL WHEELS WERE ENGAGED.(REAR OF TRUCK SPUN OUT) PULLED OVER ONCE AGAIN AND LOOKED UNDER THE TRUCK TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING LOOSE. NOTICED THE FRONT DRIVER HALF SHAFT TO BE DISENGAGED FROM THE DIFFERENTIAL.THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE IT COULD HAVE CAUSED MY FRONT WHEEL TO LOCK UP AND LOOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THIS ALSO COULD HAVE CAUSED A SEVERE ACCIDENT. NO WARNING LIGHT TURNED ON. THE ONLY LIGHT THAT TURNED ON WAS THE 4WD ILLUMINATION SHOWING THE 4WD WAS ENGAGED AND WORKING. IF I WAS TO CONTINUE THINKING THAT THE 4WD WAS WORKING IT COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURIES TO MYSELF AND OTHERS. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE. I FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL IN THE NISSAN TITAN. MY VEHICLE HAS 65400 MILES ON IT. ONLY 5400 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY THE PARTS THAT FAIL IN THIS CASE IS CALLED A C CLIP (HOLDS THE HALF SHAFT IN DIFFERENTIAL). THE PART NUMBERS FOR THE NEW DIFFERENTIAL ARE DIFFERENT THAN THE ONES CURRENTLY INSTALLED. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND SHOULD RESOLVE ANY COST THAT THIS REPAIR WILL CAUSE. *TR
THOUGH WE DID NOT KNOW IT AT THE TIME, THE FUEL VAPOR EMISSIONS CONTROL UNIT HAD A SMALL FIRE INTO THE CHARCOAL CHAMBER AND THE SOLENOID SWITCH. THIS ATTACHES TO THE GAS TANK SO WHEN WE SAW IT, WE WERE HORRIFIED. I HAVE SAVED THE UNIT AND HAD IT REPLACED. NISSAN DEALER SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL ON IT, BUT THE NEW UNIT WAS BUILT SOMEWHAT DIFFERENTLY. ALSO HAVE PICTURES IF YOU WOULD LIKE. *JS
FLANGE CONNECTING TAILPIPE TO MUFFLER RUSTED THROUGH. REMAINING EXHAUST SYSTEM IN PRISTINE CONDITION AND WITHOUT ANY TYPE OF RUST. THIS DISCONNECT BETWEEN MUFFLER AND TAILPIPE ALLOWED HOT EXHAUST TO MELT WIRING HARNESS THAT RUNS ALONG THE ENTIRE LENGTH OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS DAMAGE TO THE WIRING HARNESS RESULTED IN LOSS TO ABS, ECM, TRACTION CONTROL, FUEL PUMP, FUEL PUMP TEMP SENSOR, EVAP PRESSURE SENSOR, EVAP VENT CONTROL VALVE, RR ABS WHEEL SPEED SENSOR AND FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. *TR

THE CONTACT STARTED USING FLEX FUEL AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO EXHIBIT AN ABNORMAL TICKING SOUND AND THE ENGINE RPMS WOULD INCREASE EXCESSIVELY. THE CONTACT STARTED THE VEHICLE AND SHIFTED INTO REVERSE WHEN THE ENGINE RPMS RACED AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE BACKWARD. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESPOND AND THE TIRES LEFT SKID MARKS ALL OVER THE GROUND WHERE HE ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN SHIFTED INTO PARK AND SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. TWO YEARS LATER, THE FAILURE OCCURRED A SECOND TIME WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH IN THE RAIN. THE VEHICLE BECAME AIRBORNE AND FLIPPED OVER, BUT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS AGAIN FILED AND NO MAJOR INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DECLARED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN TITAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD SQUEALING NOISE OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES. THE REAR ROTORS AND BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. CURRENTLY, THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF BOTH REAR AXLES, AND REAR BRAKES. THERE WAS A RECALL 10V072000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC: PEDALS AND LINKAGES); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 500.
2009 NISSAN TITAN SUDDENLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY ACCELERATED AND WHEN THE BRAKES WERE DEPRESSED IT DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. *KB THE CONSUMERS SON WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE, WHEN HE INTENDED TO TURN INTO A PARKING LOT AT HIS APARTMENT AND HAD COME TO A STOP. AFTER A CAR PASSED, HE PROCEEDED TO TURN INTO THE PARKING LOT. AT THAT TIME, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY ACCELERATED. HE PUT HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE, BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE ACCIDENT SCENE SHOWED SKID MARKS THAT HE APPLIED THE BRAKE. THE VEHICLE PROCEEDED AND WENT THROUGH THE WALL OF HIS LIVING ROOM, DAMAGING THE BUILDING AND THE VEHICLE. REAR DIFFERENTIAL FAILURE. *TR
I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A SERIOUS VIBRATION COMING FROM THE REAR END OF MY 2007 NISSAN TITAN. I THOUGH THAT IT MIGHT BE AN OUT OF BALANCE TIRE. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO FIRESTONE WHERE THEY NOTICED MY PASSENGER SIDE REAR AXLE OUTPUT SEAL WAS LEAKING. I WENT A COUPLE OF WEEKS AND DECODED TO CHECK THE FLUID LEVEL OF MY REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND HAD TO ADD 1 QUART(OUT OF 2 QUARTS). THE DRAIN PLUG IS MAGNETIC AND I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS ALOT OF METAL ATTACHED TO IT. ABOUT A MONTH LATER THE NOISE WAS GETTING MORE PRONOUNCED AND STARTED TO SHAKE THE WHOLE TRUCK. I DECIDED TO TAKE THE TRUCK TO THE NISSAN SERVICE DEPT AND HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED ME AND I WENT TO SEE THE OUTCOME. HE INFORMED ME THAT MY DRIVESHAFT WAS BINDING DO TO A FAULTY DIFFERENTIAL AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE IT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. HE THEN TOLD ME THAT THEY REPLACE A DIFFERENTIAL IN THESE TRUCKS AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH AND THAT THE REAR AXLE SEALS ARE PRONE TO GOING OUT. AFTER DISCOVERING TITANTALK.COM I FOUND OUT THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM AND THAT NISSAN HASN'T DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD CALL WHEN THE DIFFERENTIAL CAME IN.*TR
