WHEN SHIFTING THE VEHICLE FROM 1ST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR, THE VEHICLE MAKES A GRINDING NOISE AND STRUGGLES TO GO INTO GEAR. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT IT WHEN IT IS AT A HIGHER GEAR. ALL THE OTHER GEARS SEEM TO NEVER HAVE A PROBLEM SHIFTING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE, THE MECHANIC INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WAS A FUEL LEAK IN THE GAS TANK. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 116,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON A RURAL ROAD, APPROX. 55 MPH, TWICE MY DRIVER SIDE ELECTRIC SEAT STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD AND UP BY ITSELF. IT WILL NOW ONLY MOVE UP AND FORWARD NOT BACKWARD. THE SEAT IS NOW IN A POSITION WHILE DRIVING TO HIGH TO SEE SAFELY AND FORWARD WHERE MY FOOT IS NOW PUSHING ON THE GAS CAUSING UNSAFE CONDITIONS. SINCE THAT DAY (1/18/2021) GOOGLING THE INTERNET I SEE A SAFETY RECALL BACK IN 2014 FOR THIS SAME SAFETY ISSUE AND CAN HAPPEN ALL BY ITSELF. CAN I TAKE IT IN TO BE FIXED WITHOUT COST TO ME ?
ON AUGUST 18TH 2020. I WAS INTERESTED IN BUYING THIS 2011 CAMARO FROM TS AUTO SALES IN ORLANDO FLORIDA. THE SALESMAN NAME IS [XXX]. I ASKED HIM IF THERE WAS ANY EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE? HE SAID THE DRIVER SIDE WAS HIT AND IT WAS REPLACED. I ASKED HIM IF THERE WAS ANYTHING ELSE? HE SAID NO. AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I LATER FOUND OUT, THAT HE WAS NOT BEING TRUTHFUL WITH ME. I LOOKED THE VEHICLE UP, AND FOUND THAT THE AIR BAGS HAD BEEN DEPLOYED. WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY VIOLATION. I ALSO ASKED HIM WHY THE BATTERY WAS BEING DRAINED. HE SAID IT JUST NEED TO BE CHARGED. I TOOK THE CAR TO A STEVE'S AUTO ELECTRIC IN CLERMONT FLORIDA. THE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT THE AIR BAGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AT THE COST OF $3,500. THIS IS A REBUILD ABLE TITLE. YOU CAN NOT GET THIS VEHICLE INSPECTED IF ALL OF THE REPAIRS ARE NOT DONE, AND YOU MUST HAVE RECEIPTS FOR EVERY PART THAT WAS REPAIRED, OR REPLACED. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE. TO MY UNDERSTANDING. IT'S THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DEALERSHIP TO MAKE ANY MAJOR REPAIRS BEFORE SELLING A VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT WENT INTO A UPRIGHT POSITION AND I TYPICALLY KEEP MY SEAT SLIGHTLY RECLINED DUE TO MY BAD BACK/LEFT LEG. I CAN MOVE MY SEAT FORWARD POSITION, BACKWARD POSITION, UPRIGHT POSITION ETC... THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT COME ON THE DASHBOARD STATING REPAIRS NEEDED & REGARDLESS IF SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT REMAINS 'OFF' IF THE VEHICLE IS MOVING OR STATIONARY. TODAY I WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING, THE AIRBAG WAS ON & ALL THE SUDDEN THE WARNING SOUND CHIMES & THE LIGHT WENT TO THE OFF POSITION.

ON THE 2010-2014 CAMARO THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE HVAC BLEND/VALVE DOOR. THE ELECTRIC ACTUATOR CONNECTS TO THE DEFECTIVE BLEND/VALVE DOOR IT APPEARS TO BE MADE OF ABS OR SOME TYPE OF PLASTIC. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THAT IN COLD OR RAINY WEATHER THE FRONT DEFROST WILL NOT WORK ALLOWING WINDSHIELD TO FOG UP OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW WHERE THERE IS NO VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM TO THE MOTORIST. THIS NOT A NORMAL WEAR PART. CHEVROLET HAS NOT OFFERED ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY TO REPAIR THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT BUT WILL CHARGE $2700.00- $3500 TO REPLACE A $14.00 PART. THIS CAUGHT ME OF GUARD A COUPLE OF TIMES IN RAINY WEATHER I HAD TO USE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WINDOW AND MIRROR TO PULL OFF THE HIGHWAY.
AS I SEARCH THE WEB FOR MY HVAC PROBLEM AND LEARN THERE IS A DEFECT WITH HVAC BLEN DOORS. EITHER YOUR VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY COLD OR HOT OR POSSIBLY HOT ON ONE SIDE AND COLD ON THE OTHER. THE UNCONTROLLED HEAT CAN PUT YOU TO SLEEP BEHIND THE WHEEL ON DRIVING TRIP. I BELIEVE GM IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSE TO RECALL. THIS NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR PART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A BODY SHOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD NOT DETERMINED IF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE TIMING CHAIN ON MY CAMARO 3.6L WAS STRETCHED CAUSING THE ENGINE TO RUN ROUGH AND STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP WAS WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE BASED ON A SERVICE ALERT FROM THE MANUFACTURE. THE VEHICLE HAD 53000 MILES AND WAS REPAIRED AT MY COST FOR A KNOW MANUFACTURER DEFECT. HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE REPAIRED FOR SAFETY BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I BELIEVE GENERAL MOTORS IS ISSUING RECALLS FOR THIS SAME ENGINE BUT ON OTHER MODELS.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN NORTHWEST EXPRESSWAY, MY CAMARO HIT MANY POTHOLES AND UNEVEN LANES CAUSING MY RIMS TO BE BENT AND CAUSING FLAT TIRE. CAR WAS GOING SPEED LIMIT OF 45 AND HIT A HUGE POTHOLE AND IT SOUNDED VERY BAD. PARKED MY VEHICLE AT WORK AND TIRE WAS FLAT AND RIM WAS BENT IN 3 DIFFERENT PLACES.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY CAMARO 2SS WITH HID HEADLIGHTS HAVE GOTTEN SO DIM THAT I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AT NIGHT BECAUSE THE CAR DOESN'T LIGHT UP THE ROAD AT ALL. I ONLY USE IT DURING THE DAY. IF I NEED TO GO SOMEWHERE AT NIGHT I HAVE TO USE MY OTHER VEHICLE. I WENT TO THE LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT WAS $125.00 TO SEE WHAT IS GOING ON. I'VE READ ALL OVER THE INTERNET THAT EVERYONE THAT HAS THESE CARS ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I THINK THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THESE LIGHTS SO WE CAN BE SAFE WITHOUT HAVING TO SPEND $1500.00 TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,136.
AROUND 60,000 MILES, THE "SERVICE AIRBAG" WARNING WAS DISPLAYED ALONGSIDE THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON MY VEHICLE. THE WARNING IS DISPLAYING AT ALL SPEEDS AND WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS TURNED ON. I AM TRYING TO SELL THE VEHICLE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE BUT WAS TOLD TODAY AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP THAT THE VALUE OF MY TRADE-IN WOULD BE DECREASED BY $2,000 DUE TO THIS WARNING WHICH WOULD HAMPER ME FROM BEING ABLE TO AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE. I AM NOT ABLE TO AFFORD THIS $2,000, SO IT SEEMS AS THOUGH I AM DRIVING AROUND WITH A VEHICLE OF WHICH ITS AIRBAGS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING. I AM UNSURE WHAT MORE I CAN DO GIVEN THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY OTHERS WITH UNRESOLVED CONCERNS SIMILAR TO THIS.

WHEN RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM, IT SOUNDS TO BE A RELATIVELY COMMON PROBLEM THAT OTHERS ARE HAVING - BUT EVEN MORE CONCERNING, IT SOUNDS LIKE THIS ERROR MAY DEACTIVATE THE AIRBAG ALTOGETHER WHICH IS A CONSIDERABLE SAFETY CONCERN CONSIDERING I DON'T HAVE $2,000 TO PUT TOWARD THE CAR TO RESOLVE THIS ERROR.

AIRBAG SYSTEM NOT WORKING, DEALER SAID IT COULD BE A SENSOR THAT WOULD COST OVER $600.00 TO REPLACE. IT WILL COME ON SOMETIMES AND WORK FOR A FEW MOMENTS THEN THE ENTIRE AIRBAG SYSTEM SHUTS OFF AGAIN.

THE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE THERMOSTAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHEN I RECEIVED THE LETTER, I DID NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS, BUT IN MY ATTEMPT TO BE RESPONSIBLE I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. RECENTLY I FACED THE PROBLEM, THE LEVER TO ADJUST THE INCLINE OF THE SEAT IS STUCK, AND MY SEAT IS IN ITS LOWEST POSITION. IT'S INCLINED ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK. I CONTACTED GM AND THEY SAID THE REPAIR WAS GOING TO BE COVERED THROUGH THE RECALL, SO I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR WAS IN THE DEALER FOR 1 1/2 WEEKS, AND IT WAS NOT REPAIRED. I RECEIVED A TEXT AND THEY SAID IT WAS GOING TO COST ME $381 TO REPAIR. THEN I CONTACT THE HEADQUARTERS OF GM AND THEY EXPLAINED MY CAR WAS NOT GOING TO BE FIXED BECAUSE IT WAS CHECKED BACK IN 2015 (WHEN IT WORKED FINE). THEN THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO CONTACT ME IN 3 BUSINESS DAYS TO PROVIDE ME WITH A COUPON TO LOWER THE PRICE OF THE REPAIR. TODAY I RECEIVED A CALL FROM ANOTHER REPRESENTATIVE AND SHE MENTIONED THEY DO NOT OFFER COUPONS. THE SERVICE TECH URGED ME TO GET THE REPAIR DONE ASAP BEFORE IT WORSENS AND THE STEERING WILL BE INOPERABLE.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO A CAR SHOW AND STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. AS I CONTINUED ON AT ABOUT 3/4 THROTTLE O WAS SHIFTING GEARS AS I WENT FROM 2ND TO 3RD GEAR I HEARD AND FELT A LOUD BANG ON BOTTOM OF CAR. I DID REACH OUT TO CHEVROLET ABOUT THE PROBLEM HOWEVER THE ONLY HELP THAT THEY WOULD OFFER WAS TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP SO THE DEALERSHIP COULD CALL ME SO I CAN BRING IT IN AND HAVE IT FIXED. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND CHANGING THE MODULE DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AS IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WIRING SYSTEM. I'M A LITTLE OUTRAGED THAT CHEVROLET HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND YET CONTINUES TO USE THE SAME SYSTEM IN OTHER YEAR MODELS AND CHOOSES TO DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. I ORIGINALLY HAD TROUBLE WITH THE AIRBAG SENSOR IN 2013. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER WHO STATED THEY WHERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. THEY RESET THE SENSOR AND IT WAS FINE. NOW WITH THE VEHICLE OUT OF WARRANTY ANYTIME SOME ONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF THE WHOLE TIME I AM DRIVING. MOST RECENTLY IT HAS STARTED TURNING ON AND OFF EVEN WHEN NO ONE IS IN THE SEAT. RETURNED TO DEALER FOR REPAIR AND IT WILL BE $700 PLUS TO FIX. *TR
THE PASSENGER'S AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON THAT STATES THE BAG IS OFF. TOOK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE SEAT SENSOR NEEDS REPLACED. CAR HAS 60000 MILES. CAME ON AROUND 52000. WAS TOLD THAT THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOYED IF INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT UNLESS THE SENSOR WAS REPLACED. COST TO REPLACE $700.00. SEARCHED AND SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM ON THIS MAKE. RESEARCHED NHTSA WEB SITE AND THERE ARE CLOSE TO 200 COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME THING. DO NOT KNOW WHY NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED DO TO A SAFETY HAZARD. LIGHT IS ON WHERE MOVING OR PARKED.

I WAS PULLING IN TO MY CAR PORT COMING TO A STOP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY LUNGED FORWARD THE BRAKES COULD NOT HAD IT AND MY FOOT WAS ON ONLY THE BRAKE.2 WEEKS LATER I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE COMING TO A STOP AND THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY ,LUCKILY NO ONE WAS ON THE SIDE WALK .I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR IN FOR THE IGNITION KEY RECALL AND I TOLD THE DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT IT FOR THIS PROBLEM ,WHEN I WENT TO PICKUP THE CAR THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM TEST AND FOUND NOTHING ,I SHOWED THE TECH THE POST ON THIS SITE ID NUMBER10638610 ,AS THAT POST HAS THE SAME PROBLEM ,AND IT STATED AT THE END OF THE POST THAT THERE WAS 2 RECALLS FOR THAT VIN NUMBER CAR PERTAINING TO WHAT LEAD/CAUSED THAT ACCIDENT ,TO SHOW THE TECH THAT GM HAS A FIX FOR IT ON RECALL AND THE TECH STATED THAT WAS ONLY FOR THAT VIN NUMBER ON RECALL AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO NOTIFY GM CORPERATE ON THIS ISSUE .SO I NOTIFIED GM CORPERATE THROUGH EMAIL ON THIS MATTER AND NOW WAITING RESPONSE ,THIS IS AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION PROBLEM
SEATS:FRONT ASSEMBLY:POWER ADJUST I WAS TOLD IT WAS PERFORMED PRIOR TO ME GOING TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER I MADE THE APPOINTMENT AND WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WOULD BE COVERED WITH NO CHARGE. APPROXIMATELY 1 YEAR AGO 2015 MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT SAID OFF AND HAS CONTINUED TO STAY OFF NO MATTER WHO SITS IN MY PASSENGER SEAT. AT THE TIME I HAD 2 RECALLS ON MY CAR TO BE FIXED AND I TOLD MY DEALERSHIP BOBBY MURRAY CHEVROLET AT THE TIME ABOUT THE AIRBAG LIGHT AND THEY SAID THERE WAS NO RECALL ON IT SO I WOULD HAVE TO PAY MYSELF FOR THE DIAGNOSIS. I'M A SINGLE PARENT AND LIVE PAYCHECK TO PAYCHECK AND ONLY HAVE 1 CAR FOR TRANSPORTATION, SO I'M UNABLE TO SHELL OUT THE $ TO HAVE THE AIRBAG DIAGNOSE AND REPAIRED. TOLD MY BRAKES WERE AT THE DANGER ZONE ,I VERBALLY AGREED TO THE SERVICE.AT 3:12 I PHONED TO SEE IF IT WAS READY TO BE PICKED UP ,WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS JUST THEN BEING SEEN BY THE MECHANIC ABOUT THE AIR BAG PROBLEM ,TOLD IT WOULD BE READY AROUND 4:00. WAS CALLED BACK & TOLD IT WOULD NEED 2 PARTS TO REPAIR THE AIR BAG SYSTEM ONLY 1 OF THE PARTS WAS IN STOCK,, THE OTHER WOULD HAVE TO BE ORDERED & IT HAD TO BE DONE RIGHT THEN.WAS TOLD NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY ,COST WOULD BE &1385.00. CAR WOULD HAVE TO BE KEPT OVERNIGHT, REQUIRING ANOTHER 90 + MILE TRIP.

TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, COMPUTER CODE READ PASSENGER PRESSURE SENSOR WAS BAD. VEHICLE NOT REPAIRED DUE TO HIGH COST. OCCURRED AT 65000 MILES.
I WAS TOLD LAST YEAR THAT I HAD A BAD TRANSMISSION DUE TO WATER DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE AND THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR BECAUSE THEY SAID THAT I DROVE IT THROUGH WATER WHICH WAS NOT TRUE SO, I HAD TO PAY A $250.00DED OUT OF POCKET, AND $3856.97 WAS PAID BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY. NOT EVEN 2 MONTHS LATER THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR WILL DRIVE AND THEN IT WILL STOP ON YOU AND NOT CHANGE INTO GEAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ABOUT 8 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO TELL ME WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. WHO CAN I CONTACT TO HELP ME WITH THIS ISSUE SINCE THE MANUFACTURER CANT TELL WHAT'S WRONG WITH THEIR OWN PRODUCT.

AFTER LOOKING ONLINE THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. CONCERNED ABOUT AIRBAGS DEPLOYING ON THEIR OWN, OR NOT DEPLOYING IN A CRASH.

I HAVE A 2011 CHEVROLET CAMARO WITH A 3.6 ENGINE. THE TIMING CHAINS ON THIS MOTOR ARE KNOWN TO STRETCH WHICH MESSES UP THE EMISSIONS AMONG OTHER THINGS. THE SAME ENGINE IS IN A SATURN, GMC ACADIA, AND SOME CADILLACS. THESE THREE VEHICLES ARE COVERED BY THE RECALL BUT THE CAMARO IS NOT EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME ENGINE. THE TIRES LOST TRACTION FOR A BRIEF MOMENT AND THE AIRBAGS WERE DEPLOYED OVER MY HEAD ON BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE SEATBELT PRETENSIONERS ALSO ACTUATED AND TIGHTENED VERY HARD. THE CAB WAS FILLED WITH WHITE SMOKE AND MY VISION WAS LOST MOMENTARILY. I WAS TRAVELING TO WORDS THE ROADWAY BUT MANAGED TO STOP PREVIOUS TO ENTERING THE ROAD. THERE WAS ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND I WAS ALSO BURNED AND MY NECK VERY SEVERELY INJURED DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE VIOLENT EXPLOSION RIGHT NEXT TO MY HEAD. MY LEFT EARDRUM IS ALSO PERMANENTLY RUPTURED DUE TO THIS EVENT. MY VEHICLE WAS LOCATED ON A MOUNTAN ROAD IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY 2. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER THAT MORNING THEY GAVE ME A LOANER BUT STILL AFTER A WEEK HAD NIT EVEN LOOKED AT THE CAR AND INFORMED ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL. WHE N I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF BED I RETURNED TO THE DEALER RETURNED THE CAR AND TOOK MINE BACK. I CONTACTED LAWYER AFTER L LAWYER BONE OF WHICH WANTED TO HELP. I WAS FORCED TO GO BACK TO WORK AS I AM SELF EMPLOYED AND HAVE NO OTHER MEANS OF SUPPORTING MYSELF. THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT FIXED AND MY MEDICAL ISSUES STILL PERSIST.

HEATER AND DEFROST WORK FINE BUT AC WILL NOT COOL, SMELLS FUNNY INSIDE THE CAR AND MAKES NOISE WHEN YOU TRY TO TURN ON A/C. THANKFULLY ITS FALL.. NO RECALLS BUT FOUND LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE A/C AND 2011 CHEVROLET CAMAROS. THE A/C STARTED SLOWLY GETTING LESS AND LESS COOL EACH DAY THEN THE LAST DAY BEFORE IT QUIT, THE DRIVER SIDE WOULDNT COOL AT ALL BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE WOULD. PUT IN REFRIGERANT AND IT COOLED FOR A COUPLE MORE DAYS THEN JUST QUIT COOLING. 75,000 MILES, HAD IT 5 YEARS 1 MONTH, NO WARRANTY. DONT WANT TO PAY THAT MUCH TO COOL MY CAR, WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER CAMARO! NOT HAPPY.
LEFT WORK TO GRAB DINNER WITH A COWORKER WHO RODE IN THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. AFTER GOING INTO PICK UP OUR DINNER MY COWORKER NOTICED FLUID ON MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT FLOOR MAT. I DROVE BACK TO WORK AND CHECKED THE FLUID ON THE MAT AND IT WAS COOLANT (DEXCOOL). DROVE HOME AND CHECKED THE MAT AGAIN AND THERE WAS MORE FLUID. I USED A MIRROR AND FLASHLIGHT TO LOOK UNDER THE DASH INBOARD OF THE GLOVE BOX AND WITH THE HEAT ON AND FAN RUNNING FOUND FLUID LEAKING FROM THE PLASTIC PAN UNDER THE HEATER CORE.

VAPOR BEGAN COMING IN THROUGH THE AIR VENTS, ALONG WITH A SUPER-SWEET SMELL; THIS SMELL WAS LATER IDENTIFIED AS LEAKING ENGINE COOLANT. THE FRONT WINDSHIELD QUICKLY FOGGED UP, BEGINNING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, AND ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT CLEAR. USING THE VEHICLE'S DEFROST ONLY INCREASED THE WINDSHIELD FOGGING AND SEVERELY DECREASED VISIBILITY. FOGGING AND VISIBILITY IS WORSE WHEN THE WEATHER IS COOL OR IT IS RAINING, AND THE COOLANT SMELL INSIDE THE CAR CAN MAKE YOU SICK AND GIVE YOU HEADACHES. FOG-FREE WINDOW TREATMENT IS INEFFECTIVE. TAKEN TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER, THE CAMARO HAS A BAD HEATER CORE - TO FIX THIS EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS ISSUE, THE CAMARO'S WINDSHIELD MUST BE TAKEN OUT ALONG WITH THE DASH AND SEATS JUST TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE HEATER CORE... WHILE RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT SWITCH FROM ON TO OFF SETTING SEVERAL TIMES RIDING DOWN THE ROAD, IT WOULD STAY ON THE OFF POSITION FOR SOMETIMES AND THEN SWITCH TO ON SETTING, YOU WOULD HAVE TO TOUCH THE MENU BUTTON IN THE CAR TO GET THE ALARM FROM BEEPING. I CHECK AND FOUND THERE ARE A COUPLE OF SERVICE BULLETINS OUT ON THIS ISSUE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASE AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME A SERVICE FEE OF $110.00 BECAUSE THE CAR JUST HAS WENT OUT OF WARRANTY. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY GM. IF I AM RIDING IN THE CAR WITH THE AIR BAG OFF THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I DO NOT WANT TO LOOSE MY LIFE OVER SOMETHING THAT GM SHOULD REPAIR AND HAS KNOWN ABOUT SINCE 2009. MY AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR 2 YEARS NOW. I HAVE TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 7 TIMES TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. MY VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN I TOOK IT IN SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO PAY ANY MONEY FOR THE SERVICES. OUT OF ALL SEVEN TIMES THEY NEVER FIXED THE AIR BAG. NOW I BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME $109 FOR SERVICES TO FIX MY AIRBAG. THE AIR BAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR 2 YEARS, MEANING IF I GET INTO A WRECK MY AIRBAG WON'T WORK. EVERY TIME MY CAR WAS RELEASED FROM THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MY AIR BAG LIGHT IMMEDIATELY CAME BACK ON AFTER THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS ADJUSTED. I SUPPOSE ALL THEY DID WAS WIGGLE THE WIRE UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT TO GET THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO GO OFF IN ORDER TO RETURN MY CAR TO ME KNOWING THAT IT WASN'T FIXED. I GOT IN, I STARTED MY CAR AT 5:30AM, ALL WAYS NORMAL. I PUT IT IN REVERSE GOT OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, THEN PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE CAR STARTED SHAKING. I PRESSED THE GAS A LITTLE AND I SEAMED LIKE THE CAR WANTED TO TURN OFF AND THE GEAR GAUGE WAS GOING UP AND DOWN AND STILL SHAKING. AT 9:00AM I WAS ASKED, WHAT'S MY ISSUE AND AT 11:00 I ASKED WHY IT WAS TAKING SO LONG FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WILL CHECK. I SAW SPOTS OF LIQUID ON MY DRIVEWAY AND WHEN I CHECKED MY CAR'S VARIOUS FLUID LEVELS, THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS SO LOW IT DIDN'T SHOW ON THE DIP STICK. I CONTACTED MY DEALER SERVICE CENTER AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT RIGHT AWAY. THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE INNER SEAL ON THE STEERING GEAR HAD FAILED. IT WAS NOT DUE TO AN ACCIDENT, COLLISION, HITTING A POTHOLE OR ANYTHING CAUSED BY ME. THIS WAS A FACTORY FAILURE AND A PROBLEM THAT IS VERY RARE ON CARS WITH MILEAGE THAT LOW (SO I WAS TOLD). THE CAR WAS JUST OVER 5000 MILES OUTSIDE ITS FACTORY WARRANTY AND THE REPAIR COST ME $1034.07. FORTUNATELY, THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS NOT DAMAGED FROM BEING COMPLETELY OUT OF FLUID OR THE REPAIR WOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN MORE COSTLY. THE MOST DISTURBING THING IS THAT I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING OF THIS PROBLEM AT ALL. IT WAS A SUDDEN AND COMPLETE FAILURE. *TR

I'VE BEEN TOLD PUTTING A LAP TOP ON THE PASSENGER SEAT COULD SET OFF THE SENSOR.....A BLUE-TOOTH CALL COULD SET OFF THE SENSOR, BUT NOT WHY? MOST RECENT TRIP (#5) TO HENDRICKS MOTORS WAS 04/24/2014. WE PICKED THE CAR UP, RAN ERRANDS (APPX. 40 MILES) AND THE LIGHT IS ON AGAIN - THE SAME DAY! I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE AIR BAGS WILL STILL DEPLOY, THE AIR BAGS MIGHT DEPLOY, AND THE AIR BAGS WILL NOT DEPLOY, AS LONG AS THE SERVICE LIGHT IS ON. WHAT IS MY NEXT STEP? WHILE TRAVELING 60 MPH MY CAR STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I SAFELY PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CHECKED THE ENGINE COULD PHYSICALLY SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I CHECKED THE OIL AND THE DIPSTICK WAS ALMOST DRY. MY OIL CHANGE WAS OVERDUE BY 3000 MILES. LAST OIL CHANGED I USED FULL SYNTHETIC OIL THINKING I COULD GO A LITTLE FURTHER BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. NEVER RECEIVED A OIL PRESSURE INDICATOR LIGHT ON MY DISPLAY. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED SOME TYPE OF INDICATION THAT MY OIL PRESSURE OR OIL LEVEL WAS LOW. NOW LEFT WITH THE HIGH COST OF REPLACING THE ENGINE. *TR
THROTTLE BODY POSITIONER IS BAD AFTER BARELY OVER 3 YEARS OF USE. WAS REDUCING SPEED FROM 55 TO 0, AFTER COMING OFF A HIGHWAY APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, AND WHILE IN NEUTRAL "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" WARNING DISPLAYED ON SCREEN, VEHICLE BEGAN IDLING IRREGULARLY (BOUNCING BETWEEN 800 AND 1100 RPMS) AND THEN WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. WAS ABLE TO LIMP AT ABOUT 20 MPH UNTIL I REACHED A PARKING LOT, TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES, RESTARTED AND IT WAS FINE AGAIN. PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS RECENTLY, GM MECHANIC SAID THROTTLE BODY POSITIONER WAS DETERMINED TO BE AT FAULT. SHOULD NOT BE ANY FAULTS AFTER 3 YEARS AND 40K UNLESS THE PART ITSELF IS FAULTY. *TR
HAVING ISSUES WITH CAR MAINTAINING OIL LEVELS. 1ST INSTANCE DID OIL CONSUMPTION THEN FOUND IT WAS LEAKING FROM ENGINE SEAL, REPLACED THAT THEN ANOTHER OIL CONSUMPTION @ 1000 MILES LATER TO FIND OUT IT WAS LEAKING FROM SOME SORT OF PLUG, REPLACED THAT, ANOTHER OIL CONSUMPTION TEST @ 2000 MILES TO ONLY FIND OUT IT WAS LOW ON OIL AGAIN, GM TOLD THE DEALER TO DO A TOP ENGINE CLEANER ON IT. THEN GM REPLACED THE WHOLE ENGINE COVER ASSEMBLY AND SEALS AND INFORMED ME THAT YOU COULDN'T USE DEXTOSE FULL SYNTHETIC BECAUSE THE SEALS AND RINGS WOULDN'T SIT RIGHT AND THAT OIL WAS MADE FOR CORVETTES AND CADILLAC , THREE DAYS LATER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WENT BACK TO THE DEALER THEY JUST CLEARED THE CODE AND TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT. NOT EVEN 1/2 WAY HOME NOTICED THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, CALLED DEALER AND TOOK IT BACK, FINDING OUT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS BAD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED THAT. IT'S ONLY BEEN 2000 AND NOW THE OIL LEVEL IS ON THE END OF THE DIP STICK. WHEN SPEAKING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER HE SAID NOT TO GO BY THE OIL % LIFE ON THE CAR AS IT WASN'T ACCURATE. TO CHANGE AT 5000 MILES. BUT BEING AT THE END OF THE DIP STICK THE MATH ISN'T ADDING UP. CAR AT THE DEALER NOW AND GOT A CALL EVERYTHING IS IN SPEC PER GM AND IT'S BURNING 1 QT PER 2000 MILES, NOTHINGS WRONG. CLEARLY YOU CAN SEE OIL RESIDUE ON THE ALTERNATOR AND BRAND NEW ENGINE COVER THEY JUST PUT ON. *JB

THE WINDSHIELD IN MY 2011 CAMARO APPEARS TO HAVE OPTICAL DISTORTION WHICH CREATES A GHOSTING EFFECT THAT IS VERY DISTRACTING. IN PARTICULAR, AT NIGHT WHEN THERE ARE HEADLIGHTS, TAIL-LIGHTS, TRAFFIC LIGHTS, ROAD SIGNS, AND ETCETERA IT IS ESPECIALLY BAD. THIS IS EVEN SEEN WITH SUNLIGHT REFLECTIONS DURING DAYTIME DRIVING. THE REASON I FEEL IT IS OPTICAL DISTORTION IN THE WINDSHIELD IS BECAUSE IF I RAISE MY HEAD TO THE VERY TOP PORTION OF THE WINDSHIELD, THE OPTICAL DISTORTION GOES AWAY. I FEEL THIS IS INDICATIVE OF AN ANOMALY/DEFECT IN THE WINDSHIELD ITSELF. I HAD THE WINDSHIELD REPLACED ONCE WITH A NEW FACTORY WINDSHIELD AND I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME OPTICAL DISTORTION ISSUES. LARGE GAPS ON THE SIDE OF THE TOP WHERE IT MEETS THE BODY WHEN IT IS UP ? YOU COULD PLACE YOUR ARM INTO THE HOLES. DEALER FIXED 2 TIMES. 14. SPENT OVER 2.5G LETTERING THE CAR FOR OUR BUSINESS, DECAL-DELETED, DETAIL COMPANY WAXING, TINTED WINDSHIELD AND WINDOWS. GM CORPORATE SAYS THEY WILL PLACE US IN A NEW HARD TOP CAMARO, BUT WILL NOT PAY TTL, RE-WAXING, RE-LETTERING CAR, DECAL DELETING OR TINTING. OK LAW STATES THAT TTL IS INDEED COVERED. 15. THIS IS NOT A DEALER ISSUE, THIS IS A GM ISSUE. 16. DEALERS CANNOT FIX THE TOP IN A MANNER THAT GM HAS NOT PUT A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON. WE DO NOT WANT TO BRING IT BACK IN UNTIL THEY HAVE SAID BULLETIN. 17. WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 45 MPH, MY 2011 CAMARO WITH PERELLI P ZERO, 275/40-ZR20 06Y LEFT TIRE BLEW OUT FROM HITTING A PAIR OF NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS IN THE ROAD. THE PLIERS WENT COMPLETLY THROUGH THE TREAD AND I HEARD A POP AS IF THE TIRE HAD BEEN SHOT. THE VEHICLE SWERVED APPROXIMATELY 30 DEGREES TO LEFT THEN BACK TO THE RIGHT VIOLENTLY. I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY AND NO OTHER VEHICLE WAS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CAMARO. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE IMMEDIATE LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE. SUMMER ONLY TIRES SOLD AS FACTORY EQUIPMENT ON 2011 CAMARO. THESE TIRES PROVIDED NO TRACTION WHEN I WAS CAUGHT IN A SNOWSTORM ON THE WAY TO WORK. IN ONLY 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW I COULD BARELY MAINTAIN CONTROL AT 11 MPH WHILE OTHER CARS PASSED ME LIKE I WAS SITTING STILL. THE AUTO MANUFACTURER FAILED TO INFORM ME THE TIRES (WHICH ARE STOCK) ARE ONLY RECOMMENDED FOR WARM WEATHER. I BELIEVE THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT INFORMED MOST CUSTOMERS OF THE SITUATION. MY RESEARCH INDICATES THESE TIRES EXHIBIT MORE PROBLEMS WITH HANDLING IN COLD TEMPS AS TIRE WEAR INCREASES. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE AUTO HAS INDICATED TO ME THAT THEIR ENGINEERS ARE CONFIDENT THESE TIRES ARE SAFE, BUT THE TIRE MANUFACTURER CONTINUES TO RECOMMEND AGAINST USING THESE TIRES IN NEAR FREEZING TEMPS. AS MOST OF THE CONTINENTAL USA IS EXPOSED TO NEAR FREEZING AND BELOW FREEZING TEMPS, I AM CONCERNED THESE TIRES WILL RESULT IN CRASHES WHICH COULD BE AVOIDED IF THE AUTO MANUFACTURER PROVIDED PROPER TIRES FOR OUR CLIMATE. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling all 2010-2014 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles manufactured December 3, 2008 to May 23, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the driver may accidentally hit the ignition key with their knee, unintentionally knocking the key out of the run position, turning off the engine.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal and Chevrolet Camaro, as well as certain 2010-2012 Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles, equipped with power height adjustable driver and passenger seats. In the affected vehicles, the bolt that secures the driver's and passenger's power front seat height adjuster may fall out causing the seat to drop suddenly to the lowest vertical position.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain replacement flip-key ignition transmitter assemblies sold as replacement equipment for 2010-2015 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles. GM dealers may have inadvertently sold these assemblies as replacement keys despite them having been recalled under NHTSA recall number 14V-436 (GM number 14294) when they were the original equipment assemblies. The driver may accidentally bump the ignition key with their knee, moving the ignition out of the run position and turning off the engine.
