I purchased my Suburban used in July 2018. In 2019 I realized the pretensioner for the driver's seatbelt doesn't work. I have asked my dealership if they could ask Chevy to pay for this repair, but they said they have to wait for the official recall. In my research, I have learned of other Chevy vehicles (Traverse & Malibu) in 2011 with the same problem. I have not contacted Chevrolet directly with this problem (yet). The flexible steel steel cable that connects the seatbelt to the front outboard seating positions may fatigue and separate over time.
The dash has broken apart on the top in front of the driver. It constantly vibrates and makes a loud distracting noise. There is no way to stop this noise and it causes the driver to constantly hold the broken part down with their hand taking their attention off the road. Our Chevrolet dealer inspected it and said they've had lots of similar complaints. He also said it would cost us $2,000 to fix the problem.
THE DASHBOARD CRACKED AROUND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AREA AND ABOVE THE TOP OF THE DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL.
THIS IS A FLORIDA VEHICLE WHERE HEAT AND HUMIDITY (THE MAJOR FACTORS IDENTIFIED WITH FAILURES OF THESE AIRBAGS/INFLATORS) CAN CAUSE MY SUBURBAN TO BE A HIGH RISK TO ME AND MY FAMILY. WE SUBMITTED FOR THIS RECALL IN 2016 AND HAVE YET TO BE CONTACTED ON STATUS OR ESTIMATED TIME FOR THE PARTS/PROCEDURES TO BE READY TO COMPLETE THIS REPAIR. AS GM DISAGREES WITH THIS RECALL, THEY APPEAR TO BE STALLING IN HOPES THAT THE VEHICLES WILL JUST BE RETIRED BEFORE THEY HAVE TO REPAIR THEM. WE SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL PEOPLE DIE FOR THE NHTSA TO FORCE THE HAND ON GM TO IMPLEMENT THIS RECALL.
EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION. I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON GM VEHICLES AND IT AFFECTS BOTH MY 2011 SUBURBAN AND 2012 SILVERADO WITH 5.3 FLEX FUEL ENGINES. THE SUBURBAN IS MORE NOTICEABLE SINCE WE USE IT FOR LONG ROAD TRIPS. THE TRUCK IS MOSTLY CITY DRIVING. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE CAUSED BY THE AFM AND PCV. I WILL BE INSTALLING THE UPGRADED VALVE COVER IN HOPES OF PREVENTING A MAJOR ENGINE FAILURE IN THE FUTURE. IT WOULD BE NICE IF GM RECALLED THESE ENGINES WITH AN ADEQUATE FIX. I ONLY NOTICE BURNING OIL ON STARTUP COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. CURRENT MILEAGE ON THE SUBURBAN IS 104,000. I HAVE NOT TOUCHED ANYTHING IN THE ENGINE BAY OR CABLE COVERS YET. I'M WRITING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE GM HAS YET TO ISSUE A SOLUTION FOR THE RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. WHEN WILL GM ISSUE THE FIX, WITH ALL THESE NEW RECALLS COMING OUT ON THE TAKATA AIR BAGS I AM DEEPLY CONCERNED WITH WHY THIS ISSUE HASN'T BEEN ADDRESSED WITH MY VEHICLE.
DASH CRACKING AROUND AIRBAG HOUSING
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED AND WAS ALREADY CRACKED WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR. *TR
A CRACK HAS FORMED ON THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE GAUGES AND STEERING WHEEL.
ENGINE LIGHT ON-DIAGNOSIS P0455. LAST 2YRS TOOK TO MANY REPAIR SHOPS. REPLACED, GAS CAP, PURGE VALVE, CANISTER VALVE, CHARCOAL CANISTER. TOOK TO CHEVY. THEY REPLACED PURGE VALVE BECAUSE THEY SAID OTHER MECHANICS USED NON CHEVY PARTS. ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. CHEVY DID SMOKE TEST AND SWORE IT WAS THE FUEL SENSOR COST $1200+. ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON AFTER A WEEK. ANOTHER SMOKE TEST AND NOW PRESSURE TEST BLEW A SMALL SECTION OF FUEL TANK WHERE IT NOW LEAKS. CHEVY SAID THE SEAL MOST LIKELY NOT SEATED PROPERLY AND I NEED A NEW FUEL TANK ABOUT $1000. BUT THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE THIS IS THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE LIGHT. I CAN'T AFFORD ANOTHER $1000 ESPECIALLY IF THIS DOESNT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ALREADY SPENT THOUSANDS FIXING DIFFERENT PARTS. VEHICLE GETS ABOUT 12MPG AND HAS IN THE PAST LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AS IF NOT ENOUGH FUEL IS GETTING THROUGH BUT THAT HASNT HAPPENED IN SOME TIME. WONDER IF ANYONE ELSE HAVING THIS P0455 ISSUE?
THE DASH HAS DEVELOPED 2 CRACKS SIMILAR TO THAT REPORTED BY OTHER OWNERS. THE FIRST CRACK IS IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER AIR BAG. THE SECOND CRACK IS FROM THE LOWER LEFT OF THE SPEAKER. IF IN AN ACCIDENT, DASH PIECES COULD BREAK OFF AND BECOME FLYING PROJECTILES.
UNSAFE TO DRIVE SPECIALLY DRIVING OVER 40 MILES
DASHNOARD IS CRACKING FOR NO REASON AT ALL . THEY ALL HAVE THIS ISSUE . POORLY MADE . IN A AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT IT CAN SHATTER AND YOU WILL HAVE SHARDS OF PLASTIC FLYING EVERYWHERE. THE ISSUE HAPPENS OVER TIME . SOME SOONER THEN OTHERS.

ADDITIONALLY, ALL THE DOORS UNLOCKED AND LOCKED AND THE RADIO BEGAN TO TURN ON AND OFF. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO WAIT A COUPLE OF MINUTES BEFORE SHE WERE ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY FIVE TIMES. THE CONTACT CALLED RAINBOW CHEVROLET (LOCATED AT 2020 W AIRLINE HWY, LA PLACE, LA 70068, 985-718-4683), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V827000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.*JB
IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE SUBMITTED TO NOTIFY ME OF THE IMPORTANT RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE. GENERAL MOTORS HAS BEEN UNABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM, NOR REPLACE OR FIX THE ISSUE. (ID# 16V381). MY OTHER VEHICLE, OF A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER, WAS QUICKLY CORRECTED AND MADE SAFE. IT IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE FOR GM TO LEAVE THIS ISSUE FOR SO LONG UNRESOLVED. NOTICE WAS MAILED JULY 2016, IT IS NOW NOVEMBER 2019. MORE THAN 3 YEARS FOR A REPAIR OF PROPELLANT THAT MAY DEGRADE CAUSING THE INFLATORS TO "RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT, CAUSING SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES." THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THREE YEARS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR GM TO DELAY.
AIR BAG FOR THIS 2011 SUBURBAN HAS BEEN IN RECALL FOR 9 YEARS WITH "RECALL INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". I THINK 9 YEARS FOR A RECALL SOLUTION IS ENOUGH TIME - ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE IS NO WAY TO DISABLE THE AIR BAGS. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT MY RECOURSE IS WHEN A FAMILY MEMBER IS KILLED BY SHRAPNEL.
FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FAILED CAUSING FUEL TRANSFER PUMP TO OVERFILL FRONT FUEL TANK. CAUSING FRONT FUEL TANK TO EXPAND AND DEVELOP A FUEL LEAK.
THE AIRBAGS ON MY 2011 CHEVY SUBURBAN HAVE ALMOST NEVER WORKED SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE. IT HAS BEEN TO MULTIPLE SHOPS FOR THE AIRBAGS AND NOT ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT. THEY ALL HAVE GOTTEN IT TO GO AWAY FOR A DAY OR TWO BUT NOT A SINGLE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIX IT. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND I'M STUCK WITH IT. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 60,000ISH MILES BUT HAS NO VALUE DUE TO THIS ISSUE.

VEHICLE RECENTLY REACHED 160,000 MILES. MAINTENANCE IS UP TO DATE. TRANSMISSION APPEARS TO HAVE AN INTERMITTENT FAULT WITH ITS OPERATION AS IT WILL THROW ITSELF OUT OF DRIVE WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WE ARE UNABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE THIS VEHICLE NOW DUE TO ITS UNPREDICTABILITY.

PULLING A TRAILER WITH GOODYEAR MARATHON ST225/75R15 TRAILER TIRES WITH LESS THAN 1000 MILES ON THEM AND HAD A BLOWOUT WITH TREAD SEPARATION WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. TIRE INFLATION PRESSURE WAS CHECKED PRIOR TO THE TRIP.
ON MY VEHICLE BRAKE OIL WAS LEAKING MY MECHANIC FIND THAT MASTER CYLINDER LEAK. AFTER CHANGING THE MASTER CYLINDER WHEN I START DRIVING MY BRAKES GOT LOCKED. I PARK THE CAR WHEN IT'S COOL DOWN BRAKE RELEASED BUT SAME THING HAPPENED WHEN I START DRIVING . SO MY MECHANIC CHANGED THE BRAKE BOOSTER BUT NOW STRANGE THING HAPPENING THAT BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN TO FLOOR AND IT'S BARELY BRAKES. JUST LEFT THE SUV ON A CHEVORELLET DEALER SHIP SEE WHAT THEY WILL SAY. BUT THIS IS DEFINITELYA SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY BRAKE SHOULD GO ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR AND BARELY BRAKE.

FROM 2017-PRESENT ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND HAS CODE P0455. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD VEHICLE DRIVES A BIT ROUGH AND ON AT LEAST 8 OCCASIONS IT HAS LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. ALMOST FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO SHUT OFF. THREE SMOKE TESTS WERE DONE, ONE AT A CHEVROLET DEALER IN 2017. SO FAR AUTO REPAIR SHOPS HAVE REPLACED 1)GAS CAP, 2) PURGE VALVE 4 TIMES, 3) FUEL SENSOR ABOVE FUEL TANK AND WE DIY REPLACED CARBON CANISTER AND VENT VALVE SOLENOID. STILL THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.
THE DASHBOARD IS FALLING APART AND SHOULD A CRASH HAPPEN CHUNKS OF PLASTIC COULD GO FLYING THROUGH THE INTERIOR. THE UPPER DASHBOARD RIGHT BELOW THE WINDSHIELD CRACKS AND FALLS APART. WHEN MOVING OR GOING OVER A BUMP IT MAKES NOISE RATTLING AROUND. TRIED TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT IT'S NOT COVERED AS THE VEHICLE IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY.
2011 CHEVY SUBURBAN WITH @110,000 NEEDS LIFTERS REPLACED. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH CHEVY AND GMC OWNERS. CONSISTENT PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS/SUV/TRUCKS. WHILE DRIVING ON I95 STOP CAR MESSAGE CAME ON.
IN EARLY 2018, WE NOTICED A VERY SMALL CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD JUST ABOVE THE STEERING COLUMN COWLING AND DISCUSSED SAME WITH OUR DEALERSHIP. WE WERE TOLD THEY'D CALLED GM AND THEN ADVISED US THAT WE'D NEED TO PAY $800 AND THEY'D PICK UP THE REST. KNOWING THIS WAS NOT OUR FAULT AND HAD TO BE A DEFECT, WE REFUSED AND HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE PROBLEM RESOLVED. SINCE THAT TIME, THE CRACK HAS NOW RUN TO BE SEVERAL INCHES LONG. THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARD IS A SAFETY RISK. GM HAS KNOWLEDGE OF THE DEFECTIVE DASHBOARDS AND HAS DONE NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. GM HAD DEFRAUDED THEIR CUSTOMERS WITH UNFAIR AND DECEPTIVE CONDUCT AND HAS CONTINUED TO SELL/REPLACE DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT ABOUT 60 MPH, MY SUBURBAN STARTED TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING, NO LIGHTS APPEARED ON MY DASH. LOCKS, RADIO AND FRONT LIGHTS STARTED TO GO OFF AND ON AND A COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION HAPPENED. WHEN COMPLETELY STOPPED THE ISSUE RESOLVED. STILL NO INDICATORS OF ANYTHING WRONG ON MY DASH, PROCEEDED TO MOVE THE CAR OUT OF THE FREEWAY AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. MINUTES LATER THE CAR ACTED NORMAL AGAIN. THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

SAME MECHANIC DID SMOKE TEST AND REPLACED PURGE VALVE STATING IT MUST HAVE BEEN FAULTY. LIGHT CAME BACK ON. CHEVY DEALER REPLACED PURGE VALVE. LIGHT CAME BACK ON. LAST MECHANIC REPLACED FUEL SENSOR. LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THEY STATED IT NOW NEEDS A PURGE VALVE. IN ADDITION, DASH STABILITY LIGHT COMES ON BUT DOES NOT GO OF WHEN BUTTON PUSHED. DVD PLAYER ALSO SEEMS TO BE CONSTANTLY WHIRRING. HOWEVER, MAIN CONCERN IS STILL THE ENGINE LIGHT THAT NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO FIX AFTER I'VE SPENT OVER $1K FOR SEVERAL PURGE VALVES, SMOKE TEST AND FUEL SENSOR. THESE PROBLEMS ONGOING FOR OVER A YEAR AND NO ONE IS ABLE TO RESOLVE!

INTERIOR DASH BOARD IS CRACKING NEAR AIR BAG, SEVERAL PLACES ON VEHICLE
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE ELECTRIC WILL FLICKER AND THEN THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WILL APPEAR ON THE DASH. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING, PARKING AND STARTING THE ENGINE. UNABLE TO TURN OFF THE LIGHT WITH THE BUTTON ON THE DASH BOARD.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THESE CRACKS HAVE APPEARED COMPLETELY ON THEIR OWN WITHOUT ANYTHING BEING PLACED ONTO OR HITTING THE DASH PANEL. SHOULD I BE INVOLVED AN ACCIDENT CAUSING THE AIRBAGS TO DEPLOY, THESE CRACKS WOULD CREATE A "SHRAPNEL EFFECT" OF THE PLASTIC PIECES BEING FORCED INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN AND POSSIBLY INTO THE FACES OF PASSENGERS.

DRIVING WITH A TRAVEL TRAILER IN TOW IN I-81 IN NY ON 6/15/16 WE SUDDENLY HAD EXTREME SWAY. MY CAR/TRAILER HAD VERY GOOD HITCH/ANTI-SWAY DEVICES. WITHOUT MUCH NOTICE, I LOST CONTROL. I BELIEVE THE FRAME SUPPORTING THE HITCH RECEIVER FAILED CAUSING A BAD ACCIDENT RESULTING IN TOTAL LOSS OF OUR TOW VEHICLE AND OUR AIRSTREAM 25 FOOT TRAVEL TRAILER. I AM A VERY EXPERIENCED DRIVER WITH THIS COMBINATION OF TOW VEHICLE, TRAVEL TRAILER, AND HITCH CONFIGURATION. THE ONSET AND MAGNITUDE OF THE SWAY (VIOLENT) CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL AS WE WERE GOING 65 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. I HAVE TOWED THIS SAME CONFIGURATION FOR TENS OF THOUSANDS OF MILES WITH NO INSTANCES OF PROBLEMS. SOMETHING DRASTIC HAPPENED! I WAS PASSING A SLOW MOVING CAR , SO WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE HEADING SOUTH WHEN I STARTED TO SWAY. I REACHED FOR THE BRAKE CONTROLLER IN AN ATTEMPT TO APPLY THE TRAILER BRAKES. THE SWAY DRASTICALLY ACCELERATED TO THE EXTENT I WAS UNABLE TO REACH THE BRAKE CONTROLLER DUE TO THE VIOLENT MOTION. WITHIN A FEW SECONDS, MY VEHICLE CAME TO REST AGAINST THE GUARDRAIL ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY (HEADING NORTH) WITH THE TRAILER JACKNIFED/PERPENDICULAR TO THE GUARDRAIL SUCH THAT I WAS BLOCKING BOTH LANES OF THE HIGHWAY. I EXAMINED THE HITCH AND TRAILER COUPLING AND ALL SEEMED NORMAL EXCEPT FOR DAMAGE FROM THE CRASH. THE HITCH FRAME OF THE SUBURBAN WAS TORN AND TOTALLY RIPPED FROM THE VEHICLE ON ONE SIDE.

ONE AT THE REAR LEFT CORNER OF THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG SECTION, AND ANOTHER BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON THE DRIVER SIDE. THE CAR IS IN IMMACULATE CONDITION OTHER THAN THE DASH. ITS AN EYE-SORE TO SEE THESE CRACKS EVERY DAY. HAD THESE CRACKS BEEN THERE A YEAR AGO WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR, WE PROBABLY WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT IT. ITS SAD TO SEE THAT THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM ON ALL VEHICLES OF THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR RANGE.

THE LAST TIME I PUT THEM BACK IN PLACE, THE HOSE BROKE OFF WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO PLACE BACK ON THE LAST TIME AS THE PLASTIC CONNECTOR HAD BECOME BRITTLE. NO I CANNOT CLEAN MY BACK WINDOW AND SOMETIMES UNABLE TO CLEAN THE FRONT WINDSHIELD MAKING IT HARD TO SEE WHILE DRIVING.

FROM WHAT I HAVE READ IT SEEMS THIS IS A HAPPENING TO A LOT OF THE GM/CHEVY VEHICLES AND IS A PROBLEM GM SHOULD REALLY ISSUE A RECALL TO FIX. AS I HAVE RESEARCHED I SEE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. WHEN PAYING OVER $30,000.00 FOR A VEHICLE, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPORTING CRACKS ON YOUR DASH. I FEEL THIS MAY CAUSE AN ISSUE WITH AIRBAGS GOING OFF AS THEY SHOULD IF EVER IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS SHOULD MOST DEFINITELY BE REPAIRED BY GM ASAP. IN SEPTEMBER 2014, I NOTICED MY DASH ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CRACKING. I PURCHASED THIS CAR AS A GM CERTIFIED USED CAR WITH ORIGINAL FACTORY WARRANTEE IN APRIL 2013 WITH 60081 MILES ON IT. IN LESS THAN 5 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP IT DEVELOPED THIS CRACK WHILE STILL UNDER FACTORY WARRANTEE. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL DEALER WITH ALL MY PAPERWORK AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED, NOR WOULD THEY REPLACE IT. THIS CRACK HAS DEVELOPED DUE TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN FROM NEGLECT, EXCESS WEAR AND TEAR, EXCESS SUNLIGHT OR ANYTHING OTHER THAN MANUFACTURE FLAW. THIS CRACK HAS CONTINUED TO SPREAD AND DUE TO THE THIN AND SHARP NATURE OF THE PLASTIC, IF I WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT, THIS WOULD SPLINTER AND ACT LIKE SHRAPNEL WITHIN THE CABIN. MY FAMILY'S LIFE IS DANGER DUE TO THIS FACT AND GM REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS IS AN ISSUE. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AS I KNOW MANY OTHERS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH EVEN 2015 MODELS. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE FIRST SPARK PLUG WAS FOULED DUE TO OIL CONTAMINATION AND THAT ENGINE AND FUEL INJECTORS AND THROTTLE BODY NEEDED CLEANING. THIS COST $475 AND WAS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY.

CLEANED FUEL INJECTORS AND THROTTLE BODY, REPLACED VALVE COVER TO PREVENT THIS FROM OCCURRING A THIRD TIME (HAS HAPPENED TWICE ALREADY AND IN THE LAST NINE MONTHS). TOTAL REPAIR $1173. NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY.

I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE POTENTIAL FURTHER DETERIORATION WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE DASHBOARD STARTED TO SHAKE INDEPENDENTLY. AFTER INSPECTING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WERE TWO CRACKS OF SIGNIFICANT SIZE ON THE BOTTOM PART OF THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 43,300.
THERE ARE TWO CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD, ONE OVER THE DRIVER CONSOLE AND ONE ON THE TOP LEFT OF PASSENGER AIRBAG....NOTHING HAS OCCURRED TO CAUSE THESE CRACKS, BUT I AM AFRAID IF AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED, THE DASH WILL BREAK UP AND HURT US. *TR
THE VEHICLE DASHBOARD HAS DEVELOPED MAJOR CRACKS IN TWO PLACES. ONE CRACK IS ADJACENT TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. THE OTHER CRACK IS ABOVE THE STEERING COLUMN. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD WILL BECOME SHRAPNEL IF THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WAS TO DEPLOY. ADDITIONALLY, THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD "FLAPS" WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. *TR

WE OWN A 2011 CHEVY SUBURBAN AND ONE DAY NOTICED TWO CRACKS ON OUR DASHBOARD. ONE CRACK LEADS STRAIGHT INTO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG AND THE OTHER CRACK IS OVER THE DASH CONSOLE ON THE DRIVER SIDE. BECAUSE OUR SUBURBAN IS OUT OF THE 36K MILE WARRANTY WE WERE REFERRED TO GM. WE CALLED GM AND WERE TOLD THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $450.00 OUT OF OUR POCKET TO GET IT FIXED. WE ARE VERY CONCERNED THAT EITHER 1) THE AIR BAG MAY NOT DEPLOY IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT OR 2) THAT IT WILL DEPLOY ON ITS OWN WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. WE ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT GM IS NOT WILLING TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND REPLACE AT NO COST AS THIS IS CLEARLY EITHER A MANUFACTURER DEFECT OR A POOR QUALITY PRODUCT. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I WAS USING THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE CAR BEGAN TO INCREASE IN SPEED WITHOUT MY CONTROL. IT WENT FROM 65 TO 90 IN A FEW SECONDS AND I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BREAKS TO GET IT TO STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. ALSO WE CAN NEVER LET THE GAS GET LOWER THEN A QUARTER OF A TANK OR THE CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN LIKE ITS EMPTY. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE WILL JUST REV UP FOR NO REASON AND OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T ACCELERATE PROPERLY. YOU CAN PUSH THE GAS AND IT FEELS LIKE THE SPEED IS DELAYED BUT THEN WILL CATCH UP. *JS
THE ACCELERATOR HESITATES WHEN PRESSED. THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE AND WILL THEN ACCELERATE RAPIDLY WHEN AT A STOP AND TRYING TO ACCELERATE THROUGH INTERSECTIONS. DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE FOR REPAIRS. RECURRING ISSUE. ALSO HAS A POPPING OR CLUNKING NOISE IN BACK PASSENGER SIDE. DEALER HAS DUPLICATED BUT NOT REPAIRED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ABNORMAL AND OVERPOWERING ODOR WAS PRESENT IN THE REAR INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S FOUR SMALL CHILDREN WERE ASLEEP IN THE REAR ROW SEATS AND WHEN CALLED UPON, DID NOT AWAKEN TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE TO INSPECT FURTHER AND DISCOVERED THE ODOR. ADDITIONALLY, ALL FOUR CHILDREN HAD BECOME ASPHYXIATED BY THE FUMES. TWO OF THE FOUR CHILDREN WERE TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE CHILDREN'S ASTHMA REACTED TO THE OVERPOWERING ODOR, AND WERE GIVEN MEDICATION FOR TREATMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ONE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL FLUID HAD OVERHEATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR THE REPAIRS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE AND NO REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED RAPID ACCELERATION FAILURE WHILE SITTING AT A TRAFFIC STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TEN TIMES YET THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED EACH TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS IS BECOMING A RECURRING AND REPRODUCIBLE PROBLEM. THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OCCURS WHILE SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP SIGN AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE MOST RELIABLE WAY TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM IS AS FOLLOWS. BE DRIVING ABOUT 15 MILES PER HOUR, UP A SLIGHT SLOPE. MOVE YOUR FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND ON TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. DEPRESS THE BRAKE LIGHTLY. JUST AS THE VEHICLE STARTS TO SLOW DOWN YOU WILL FEEL THE ACCELERATION OF THE ENGINE AS IF THE VEHICLE IS ATTEMPTING TO MAINTAIN THE 15 MILE PER HOUR PREVIOUS SPEED. THIS UNEXPECTED RESPONSE WILL LAST ABOUT TWO SECONDS AND THEN RETURN TO NORMAL (IDLE) CONDITION. THIS SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOR IS VERY UNNERVING AND COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT IF THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE TO BE SLIPPERY. *TR
A SMALL CRACK BEGAN ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF DASH BOARD. WITHIN WEEKS, THE CRACK BECAME MUCH BIGGER. AFTER TWO MORE WEEKS, I NOTICED ANOTHER CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASH. SOON, IT BECAME MUCH LARGER TOO. NOW, THERE ARE SEVERAL CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD. THIS AUTOMOBILE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT OR DRIVING ON ROUGH TERRAIN. I DON NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE DASHBOARD WOULD CRACK. I HAVE NEVER OWNED A VEHICLE WHICH HAS HAD THIS HAPPEN. *TR
I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN DECELERATING & APPLYING MY BRAKES WHEN APPROACHING A STOP THAT MY VEHICLE ACTUALLY WILL ACCELERATE ALL OF THE SUDDEN. ALSO, THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. *TR

THE DEFROSTERS FOR THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DOESN'T DEFROST THE WINDOW AT ALL WHEN DRIVING IN COLD DAYS THE WHOLE WINDOW FOGS UP AND FREEZES MAKING VISIBILITY TO NONE AND WE HAVE TO STOP WIPE DOWN THE WIND SHIELD AND DRIVE AGAIN FOR TEN MINUTES THEN THIS PROBLEM GOES ON AND ON THE HEATER GOES ON FULL BLAST BUT NO RESULTS THAT IS A VERY UNSAFE AND UN DRIVABLE AT TIMES. COINS IN THE RADIO? I WAS ASTONISHED AND VERY UPSET HOW COULD AN INDUSTRY MAKE A VEHICLE THAT IF WATER IS SPILLED ON/OR IN THE RADIO OR COINS DROPPED IN THE CD COMPARTMENT THAT THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES OUT AND STARTS GOING HAYWIRE ESPECIALLY HERE IN ALASKA A LOT SNOW AND HARSH WINTER DRIVING CONDITIONS ARE NOT GREAT AND IF THE VEHICLE STALLS DO TO THE RADIO AND DEFROSTERS NOT WORKING OR SOMEONE SPILLED SOMETHING ON THE RADIO THEN THE PEOPLE AND CHILDREN WOULD FREEZE TO DEATH THEN WHO WOULD BE AT FAULT THAT MEANS THE COMPANY THAT MAKES THE VEHICLE IS GONNA BE LIABLE FOR THE CONSEQUENCES THE DEFROSTERS NOT WORKING DOESN'T HELP ANY WE HAVE TO DRIVE THRU THIS WEATHER OUT HERE 9MONTHS OUT OF THE YEAR AND HAVE TO SUFFER BECAUSE OF THESE SITUATIONS THAT IS INEXCUSABLE AND VERY DANGEROUS TO PUBLIC THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND RESOLVED. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP A FEW TIMES BUT THE PROBLEM STILL CONSISTS DOING THE HORRIBLE DANGEROUS THINGS THAT THE SUBURBAN DOES WE HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN AGAIN BECAUSE THE RADIO IS ACTING UP AGAIN AND DEFROSTERS ARE ACTING UP THIS IS A DEFECT AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. *TR
