The Air Bag Warning Light on the dash blinks continuously and the Front Passenger Air Bag Status Light remains on whether or not the seat is occupied. I took the car to the Infiniti dealer. The Service Advisor said the Occupant Classification System Control Unit or OCS sensor needs to be replaced but Infiniti no longer provides this part; and furthermore, Infiniti advises against owner replacing the unit with a used part. I asked the Service Adviser what solution does Infiniti suggest and he said Infiniti does not suggest any solution. I contacted Infiniti Consumer Affairs Department. The Infiniti representative said the vehicle is more than 10 years old and Infiniti no longer manufactures the part; therefore, there is nothing they can do. I then asked the Infiniti Consumer Affairs Department what will happen in a situation where the airbags would normally be deployed considering the airbag warning light continues to blink and the “PASS AIR BAG” “2 OFF” is lit? I was told to ask to contact the dealer for their response. I wanted a response from Infiniti proper, the manufacturer, so I asked again. And again they said to contact the dealer. The dealer said all the airbags would be deployed at the same time and that there was no safety issue. Quoting from an Infiniti Service Bulletin Owner's Letter in the past: "If the red air bag warning light in your vehicle continuously flashes after the vehicle is started, please take your vehicle to the dealership as soon as possible. In the interim do not allow passengers to ride in the passenger seat. If the dealer fails, or is unable to make the necessary repairs free of charge, you may contact the National Consumer Affairs Department, Infiniti Division, Nissan North America, Inc., P.O. Box 685003, Franklin, TN 37068-5003. The toll free number is 1-800-662-6200. You may also contact the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration..." Infiniti admitted this is a safety issue.
VEHICLE HAS HESITATION DURING ACCELERATION, IT LAGS AND TRANSMISSION IS UNRESPONSIVE MOST OF THE TIMES. THERE ARE OTHER TIMES THAT THE VEHICLES TRANSMISSION WILL DOWNSHIFT AND REV UP WHILE COASTING DOWN HILL WHILE FOOT IS OFF ACCELERATOR. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 59K MILES ON IT AND SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS ISSUE. IT'S LIKE THE TRANSMISSION JUST DOESN'T KNOW WHAT GEAR IT SHOULD BE IN. INFINITI NEEDS TO FIX A CLEAR DESIGN PROBLEM!
THE CAR HESTITATES, JERKS, REVS AT LOW SPEED, ROUGH IDLING, AND SLOW ACCELERATION. I REPLACED THE MAF SENSOR B 4 MONTHS AGO AFTER MY CAR ENGINE LIGTH CAME ON WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY AND I COULDNT ACCELERATE PASS 30 MILES PER HOUR.I HAD TO PRAY AND DRIVE TO THE NEAREST PLACE FOR THEM TO FIX IT.
I'D LIKE TO REPORT A PROBLEM THAT HAS OCCURRED WITH MY 2011 INFINITI M37 WHICH SEEMS TO BE PRETTY FATAL. THE PLASTIC COVER THAT COVERS THE STEERING WHEEL'S ROD CRACKS OPEN WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TILTED TO A LOWER POSITION. ONCE THE COVER IS CRACKED, STEERING WHEEL RUBS ON TO THE PLASTIC BEHIND IT AND MAKES THE STEERING WHEEL NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. IF SOMEONE FACED THIS ISSUE BY CHANGING THEIR STEERING WHEEL POSITION WHILE DRIVING, IT WILL SURELY LEAD TO A FATAL ACCIDENT. I HAVE SEVERAL ISSUES. THE STEERING WHEEL PEELS. I HAVE A CRACKED DRIVER'S SIDE LEATHER INTERIOR DOOR. THE CAR STARTED JERKING REALLY BAD ON A CITY STREET, I COULDN'T GO OVER 35 MPH. MY 4WAS MOTOR HAS GONE BAD! INFINITI DEALERSHIP, CANNOT EXPLAIN WHAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE MOTOR, TO GO BAD. ALL OF THE CAR'S SAFETY FEATURES, ARE CONNECTED TO THIS 4WAS MOTOR. SO, WHEN THAT 4WAS LIGHT COMES ON, ALL OF THE SAFETY FEATURES ARE TURNED OFF. THIS INCLUDES: INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL, 4WAS, BLIND SPOT DETECTION, LANE DEPARTURE, STABILITY CONTROL, AND SPORT MODE! THE COST IS $8500! I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2011.
INFINITI USES POOR QUALITY LEATHER AND VINYL IN THE INTERIOR OF THEIR CARS. THE LEATHER AND VINYL ON MY DOOR PANEL, CENTER CONSOLE, AND SEAT HAVE CRACKED. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE INTERIOR OF MY CAR. CONSIDERING THAT INFINITI IS A LUXURY AUTO MANUFACTURER, THE INTERIOR QUALITY IS APPAUDING. THIS WILL BE THE LAST INFINITI THAT I PURCHASE.
THE LEATHER AND VINYL THAT IS INSTALLED ON THE INTERIOR COMPONENTS OF THE CAR ARE VERY POOR QUALITY. MY SEATS, DOOR PANEL, AND CENTER CONSOLE ARE CRACKING. THE INTERIOR OF MY CAR LOOKS TERRIBLE. CONSIDERING THAT INFINITI IS A LEISURE LINE AUTOMOBILE, IT IS APPALLING THAT THEY WOULD CUT CORNERS ON THE CAR'S INTERIOR BY USING SUCH LOW QUALITY MATERIALS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER INFINITI.
4WAS AND STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. THE REAR OF THE CAR IS VERY UNSTABLE, SWAYS, JERKS AND STEERING WHEEL IS OFF-CENTER.THE STEERING WHEEL IS NEVER CENTERED AND DRIFTS IN ONE DIRECTION WITH A NEW ALIGNMNET. INFINITI HAS RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE HICAS ACTUATOR. THIS HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR INFINITI OWNERS AND ARE THEN RECOMMENDED TO REPLACE THE 4WAS CONTROL BOX. REPLACING THE CONTROL BOX ALSO DOES NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I HAVE READ AND JOINED A NISSAN/INFINITI FORUM WHERE OWNERS THAT HAVE THIS EXACT PROBLEM HAVE FOLLOWED THE RECOMMENDATION FROM THE NISSAN AND INFINITI DEALERSHIP AND STILL HAVE THE WARNING LIGHTS ON. I CONTACTED INFINITI CORPORATE OFFICES FOR FURTHER INFORMATION, BUT WAS INFORMED THEY DO NOT TRACK THIS TYPE OF INFORMATION. THE 4WAS AND STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS ISSUE IS HAPPENING TO BOTH NISSAN AND INFINITI MODELS AND THROUGHOUT VARIOUS YEARS. THE CONCERN IS THAT INFINITI'S RECOMMENDATION IT TO REPLACE THE HICAS ACTUATOR AND SPEND $6K (PART COST $5,500 AND LABOR $400, BUT THAT DOES NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO THE INFORMATION I HAVE FOUND, INFINITI IS NOT ACCURATELY DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN I NEAR CATASTRAFIC INCIDENTS DUE TO THIS WIDE SPREAD INFINITI SPORT OWNERS ISSUE.
HESITATING/JERKING. UNABLE TO ACCELERATE PAST 44-45 MPH, 2400 RPM. HAD TO MOVE FROM THE FAR LEFT LANE ACROSS 4 LANES SHOULDER WAS DRIVING ON A CITY MAIN RD AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AXLE SLIPPED OUT FO SOCKET AND AND CAUSED MY CAR TO BE INOPERABLE

BOTH THE DEALER (SEWELL INFINITI OF DALLAS, 7110 LEMMON AVE, DALLAS, TX 75209, (972) 490-4545) AND AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND HAD NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLE. A RECALL FOR THE STEERING WAS ISSUED FOR OTHER YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLES. THE APPROXMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.
I HAVE BEEN NOTICING THAT MY CAR IS TAKING A VERY LONG TIME TO SPEED UP WHEN I'M STEPPING ON THE GAS. THE CAR JERKS AS WELL IT IS VERY UNSAFE. I WAS TRYING TO PASS THROUGH A GREEN LIGHT WHEN I NOTICE THE CAR IS MAKING A REALLY LOUD SOUND LIKE IM DRIVING FAST BUT THE CAR WAS NOT GOING PASS 20 MILES.
THE LEATHER ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR PANEL IS CRACKED. IT BEGAN CRACKING TWO YEARS AGO AND IS GETTING WORST. LEATHER SHOULD NOT CRACK AT 5 YEARS. INFINITI MATERIALS SHOULD BE TOP OF THE LINE. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THE CRACKED LEATHER ON MY DOOR PANEL. THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BE RECALLED.

THE TRANSMISSION IN THE M37'S ARE REALLY BAD. THE 7 SPEED TRANSMISSION HAS A VERY DIFFICULT TIME FIGURING WHAT GEAR TO GO INTO. WHEN YOU ARE ACCELERATING ONTO AN OFF RAMP OR EVEN AFTER A RED LIGHT THERE IS A MAJOR DELAY BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT GEAR TO GO INTO. IT GOES THREW THE FIRST 3 GEARS WAY TO FAST AND SLOWS YOU DOWN TREMENDOUSLY. YOU COULD BE KILLED TRYING TO GET ON AN INTERSTATE BECAUSE THE CAR JUST WONT GO UNLESS YOU MASH THE PEDAL. WHEN YOU ARE CLIMBING A HILL AT 30 MILES AN HOUR, THE TRANSMISSION WILL BE IN 6TH OR 7TH GEAR. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN THE INFINITI M37 SPORT HESITATES AND STRUGGLES TO FIND THE APPROPRIATE GEAR. EVEN UPON SOFT ACCELERATION, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS BETWEEN THE FIRST 3 GEARS BEFORE REACHING 20MPH AND ALL BETWEEN 1500-2000RPM. THIS CAN CREATE A HAZARDOUS SITUATION WHEN TURNING LEFT ACROSS A MULTI-LANE, DIVIDED ROAD--ESPECIALLY FROM A STOP. THE CAR SIMPLY WON'T ACCELERATE QUICKLY ENOUGH. SAME IS TRUE WHEN ENTERING A HIGHWAY ON-RAMP AT SPEEDS ABOVE 40MPH. THE CAR SIMPLY DOES NOT DOWNSHIFT QUICKLY ENOUGH TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE POWER FOR ACCELERATION. I LEASED MY INFINITI M37 SPORT THE FIRST MONTH IT CAME OUT IN 2010 (2011 MODEL). THE FIRST DAY I DROVE THE CAR THE ISSUES WERE APPARENT. I DROVE IT DIRECTLY BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE..ITS LEARNING YOUR DRIVING STYLE..(I TOO HAVE HAD MERCEDES, BMW, AUDI ETC THAT LEARN YOUR DRIVING STYLE) THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. WELL, NOW I AM AT 33,000 MILES AND THE ISSUES HAVE ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. ITS BEEN TO THE DEALER A NUMBER OF TIMES FOR THE JUMPY STOPS...WHEN BREAKING (NORMAL NON AGGRESSIVE) THE TRANNY WANTS TO JUMP FORWARD AND ALMOST HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. WITH THE AC ON I NOTICED IT DOES ALL OF THIS MORE FREQUENTLY, ALTHOUGH THE ISSUES ARE ALWAYS THERE. NOW IT RANDOMLY DROPS RPM'S ALMOST DOWN TO STALLING THEN KICKS IT BACK UP (CATCHES IT SELF - LARGE RPM SWINGS) WHILE AT A COMPLETE STOP. I'VE DONE THE ECU FLASHES AND OTHER TRICKS THAT HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. SAD THING IS THIS CAR HAS ONE OF THE BEST DESIGNS AND MOST AMAZING INTERIORS, JUST ONE OF THE WORST ENGINE SET UPS EVER...VERY DANGEROUS AND THERE HAS BEEN A NUMBER OF TIMES MY CAR ALMOST JUMPED FORWARD WHILE BRAKING AND HIT THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME. I AM REALLY UPSET, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS, THERE ARE A TON OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE AND NO ONE IS BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR A FIX. I HAVE NOTICED PROBLEMS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WITH MY M37 NOT ACCELERATING WHEN I HIT THE GAS. WHILE GETTING OVER INTO ANOTHER LANE TO PASS A VEHICLE MY CAR STALLED FOR A FEW SECONDS WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER CAR. TWO MONTHS AGO I WENT TO ACCELERATE ON THE FREEWAY AND THE ENGINE JUST REVVED UP UNTIL I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS. MY MOM WAS IN THE CAR AND SHE AGREED THAT THIS IS NOT NORMAL! ON TWO OCCASIONS I HAVE ALSO NOTICED WHILE COMING TO A STOP MY CAR WOULD JUMP FORWARD BUT THOUGHT IT WAS ME UNTIL I SAW OTHER POSTS REGARDING THIS. AND YES I HAVE DISCUSSED THIS WITH OUR INFINITI DEALER AND THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I HAVE DRIVEN MANY CARS AND HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ISSUES LIKE THESE. *TR
2011 INFINITI M37X. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIR BAG LIGHT ILLUMINATING. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WITH THE LIGHT BEING ON, THERE IS NO PROTECTION FOR THE PASSENGER. THE LIGHT STAYED ON DURING VARIOUS TRIPS, FOR FIVE MINUTES, THREE MINUTES AND 13 MINUTES. WHEN THE CONSUMER SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND STARTED IT AGAIN, THE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THEN WENT OUT. WITHIN A COUPLE OF MINUTES, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND STAYED ON FOR 11 MINUTES. *JB
I HAVE CONCERNING ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION OF THIS VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASE 8/27/2010. THE TRANSMISSION HAS MAJOR HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING, SLOWING DOWN AND WITH EVERDAY USE(JERKY FEELING IN CITY TRAFFIC) NO MATTER WHAT DRIVE MODE IS USED I.E SPORT, NORMAL, ECO, SNOW MODES. WHETHER YOU PULL OUT TO PASS ON THE FREEWAY OR,PASS BICYCLE ON A NARROW 2 LANE ROAD, AT RESIDENTIAL SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES DRAMATICALLY(2-5 SECONDS),ACTUALLY TO THE POINT I DON'T FEEL SAFE WITH THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER 4+ TIMES TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE,CONTACTED INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS, AND WAS TOLD BY ALL, THAT IT WAS "NORMAL" OPERATION.... WHICH IT IS NOT!!! *TT
