We purchased a set of headlights and taillights via Amazon from Perde on 12/8/20 after verifying they would fit the vehicle-confirmed with the description provided online. The product that was delivered is defective and presents a fire/electrical safety concern. We installed them, which we had issues initially with the turn signals. While we worked to figure that piece out, we left in the new ones as the ones we had to replace were in worse shape. About a month after they were installed we noticed the headlights weren't working so replaced the bulbs-one of which appeared to be burned/melted. We thought this was a fluke, replaced the bulbs and this worked for a little while. Then about another month passes, my son was pulled over by the police due to both taillights being out. This also presents a safety issue with other drivers on the road not being able to see the vehicle at night. When we inspected the taillights, we found that both taillights bulbs had also burned/melted and the socket appeared to have burn marks on them. We believe this is a major safety issue given it could have caused an electrical fire in the vehicle. I have photos of this, and we still have the headlights and taillights we have since replaced with a different manufacturer. There were no warning lights on the vehicle, this was discovered after we pulled them off to inspect after having numerous issues replacing bulbs. When I contacted the company today their responses do not seem to indicate any concern on their part about this issue. They offered to replace them, however, there is no way I am going to put their parts on any of my vehicles ever again.
Low beam headlights burn out every 6 months, no matter the quality of bulb. Casings are discolored on the inside and light doesn't project beyond about 4 feet, doesn't reach the car bumper in front of me. Cannot be corrected with lens cleaning kits or improved with brighter bulbs. Very dangerous. I cannot see in low light or dark at all. I've had this car since 2013 and it gets progressively worse. Many forums online with same issue reported.
THIRD OWNER OF VEHICLE. GOT A NOTICE FROM NHTSA AND MAZDA DUE TO REGISTRATION OF NEW TO US VEHICLE ON FEBRUARY 25, 2021. SET UP APPOINTMENT ON FEBRUARY 26, 2021 WITH NELSON MAZDA OF COOL SPRINGS FOR 10:15 A.M. ON MARCH 3, 2021. I INFORMED THE PERSON THAT THERE WERE TWO RECALLS, BUT I ONLY WANTED THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL DONE BECAUSE I HAD ALREADY REPLACED THE BAD PARTS ON THE OTHER RECALL WITH FAR SUPERIOR AFTERMARKET PARTS AND THEREFORE DIDN'T NEED/WANT THE OTHER RECALL WHICH WAS FOR DEFECTIVE BALL JOINTS. MY WIFE DROPPED OFF THE VEHICLE FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL. THEY INFORMED US A LITTLE WHILE LATER THAT WE HAD TO GET BOTH RECALLS DONE OR THEY COULDN'T DO EITHER BECAUSE THEY WOULD GET FINED BY MAZDA. I TOLD THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT I ALREADY REPAIRED THE BALL JOINT ISSUE TO MY LIKING AND THAT THE BAD PARTS WERE NO LONGER ON THE VEHICLE. I WOULD SIGN OFF ON IT. HE SAID THEY COULDN'T DO EITHER. I ASKED HIM IF WAS THE REFUSING TO DO THE AIRBAG RECALL THAT HAS PROVEN TO BE DEADLY AND SEND MY WIFE BACK ON THE ROAD WITH A DEFECTIVE PART INSTEAD OF FIXING IT, HE SAID YES. I CONTACTED MAZDA CUSTOMER CARE AND SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AND KIND OF GOT THE SAME RESPONSE. I TOLD HER THAT THE AIRBAG RECALL AND THE BALL JOINT RECALL ARE TWO DIFFERENT RECALLS NOT CONTINGENT ON EACH OTHER AND REBUKED HER THAT MY WIFE'S LIFE WAS WORTH LESS THAN A ALLEGED FINE THAT THE DEALER COULD GET. I ALSO TOLD HER THAT THEIR REFUSAL TO DO A RECALL ON A KNOWN DEADLY DEFECTIVE PART WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS THERE AT THE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT TIME WITH PARTS IN HAND WAS ILLOGICAL AND PUT THEM IN A LIABILITY LEGALLY NOW THAT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO PERFORM THE MANDATED RECALL.
TOOK MY CAR TO GET A ALIGNMENT DUE TO THE SHAKING OF THE WHEEL WHEN COMING TO A STOP, WHEN TAKING MY CAR TO BE LOOK AT, I WAS ADVISED THAT THE CONTROL ARM OF MY CAR WAS BAD, IN WHICH I WASN'T AWARE OF. ON MAY 1ST I HAD THE CONTROL ARM REPLACED. NOW I RECEIVED LETTERS AN CALLS ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL. ON JUNE 15TH TOOK MY CAR TO JAKE SWEENEY MAZDA AFTER RECEIVING A CALL ABOUT THE RECALL. WHILE IN THE WAITING ROOM WAITING FOR THE AIRBAG TO BE REPAIRED, THE SERVICE PERSON [XXX] CAME BACK OUT AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE LOWER CONTROL ARM OF THE CAR, IN WHICH I JUST HAD REPAIRED ON MAY 1ST, UNAWARE OF THE RECALL, WHICH I FOUND OUT ON JUNE 15TH. AFTER EXPLAINING TO THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED, HE TOLD ME THAT HE NEEDED TO STILL FIX WHAT HAD ALREADY BEEN DONE, WITH THE UPDATED PARTS. ON JUNE 16TH, I SUBMITTED MY REIMBURSEMENT REQUEST ON JUNE 18TH I RECEIVED AN E-MAIL BACK STATING THAT ALL REPAIRS DONE BY THIRD PARTY WOULD BE MY RESPONSIBILITY. I TRIED CALLING AND SPEAKING WITH AN SUPERVISOR, WHO STILL ADVISED ME THAT IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY. SO I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO KNOW WHEN THEIR PARTS ARE RECALLED WITHOUT RECEIVING LETTERS ARE CALLS ABOUT IT. I PAID $855.80 TO GET THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS REPAIRED. I PROVIDED THEM WITH THE COPY OF MY BANK ACCOUNT, ALONG WITH THE RECEIPT COPY OF THE THIRD PARTY VENDOR WHO FIXED THE REPAIRS. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR MY $855.80. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
EVERY SINCE I FIRST PURCHASED MY CAR, MY DOOR HANDLES ARE VERY LOOSE, I'VE HAD TO GET THE DRIVER ONE FIXED AND IT'S LOOSE AGAIN. IT CAUSES ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT DOOR. ALL MY WINDOWS WILL NOT GO UP ONCE I PUT THEM DOWN AND THEY ARE ALSO MAKING NOISES. MY HEADLIGHTS ARE DIMMER FROM WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR, AND I HAVE TO KEEP REPLACING THEM BECAUSE THEY KEEP GOING OUT. *TR
DIM LIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT ALL OTHER LIGHTS WORK FINE
THE HEADLIGHT BULBS BURN OUT MULTIPLE TIMES A YEAR AND ON TOP OF THAT, THE LENS HAVE FOGGED UP TO THE POINT THAT I WAS FORCED TO REPLACE THE HEADLAMPS. THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE DURING DUSK, NIGHT AND DAWN HOURS. THE FOG SEEMS TO BE FROM THE INSIDE, SINCE NO AMOUNT OF EXTERIOR CLEANING WOULD HELP. THE REAR BREAK LIGHTS ARE ALSO FOGGED UP AND THE INSIDE RED PLASTIC IS ALSO MELTED. THESE ARE SOME MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. I HAVE REPLACED THE HEADLAMPS, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE THE NEW ONES WILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE IN THE YEARS TO COME.
DRIVE SIDE FRONT TIRE CAME OFF WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 20 MPH. BALL JOINT SEPARATED. CAR SLIDE HIT CUB AND TIRE ON PASSENGER SIDE WAS HIT AND BLEW OUT. THERE IS RECALL ON BALL JOINT. I DID NOT GET NOTICE.
THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM, REPLACED BULBS SEVERAL TIMES AND CAN NOT SEE 10 FEET IN-FRONT OF CAR. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED A PART ON BOTH LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS BUT I STILL CANNOT SEE 10 FEET IN-FRONT OF VEHICLE.
ON-GOING ISSUES WITH GAS PUMP SHUTTING OFF AT PUMP. TOOK CAR TO GET IT CHECK. BACK AND FORTH WITH DEALER TO FINE ISSUE FOR OVER SEVERAL MONTHS PERIOD. ENGINE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON TWICE. CUSTOMER REQUEST DEALER TO CHECK FUEL SYSTEMS. GAS LEAK DISCOVERED, ALONG WITH CLOGGED FUEL VAPOR LINES. SPIDER WEBS NEAR FUEL LINES. CUSTOMER SUSPECT FUEL SYSTEM DEFECT. DEALER SUGGEST FUEL SYSTEM REPLACEMENT. SINCE OUT OF WARRANTY, CUSTOMER REACH OUT TO MANUFACTURER.
MY HEADLIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT. I HAVE TO PUT IN NEW HEAD LIGHT BULBS EVERY FEW MONTHS. I HAVE CHANGED THE HEAD LIGHT BULB ON BOTH SIDES FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. CURRENTLY MY RIGHT HEAD LIGHT IS OUT AGAIN. I PURCHASED ANOTHER BULB AND HAVE TO PAY FOR A MECHANIC TO FIX MY HEAD LIGHT THIS WEEK.
THE TRANSMISSION JUST ALL OF A SUDDEN WOULD NOT REVERSE THE VEHICLE

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR BALL JOINTS HOWEVER NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AT THE TIME TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. WAITED OVER A YEAR AND THE BALL JOINT LET GO SO I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE MY MAZDA. I TOOK IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND HAD IT FIXED. 3 MONTHS LATER I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM MAZDA THAT THE PARTS WERE IN. I CALLED MAZDA 3 TIMES ASKING FOR A REIMBURSEMENT AS I HAD TO PAY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET FOR A RECALL THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CALLS BACK. I WOULD LIKE TO BE COMPENSATED FOR MY OUT OF POCKET COSTS TO REPAIR THE BALL JOINTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MAZDA CX-7. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A WHIPLASH AND A CONCUSSION. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A COLLISION SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V717000 (AIR BAGS), WHICH WAS UNRELATED TO THE CRASH. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCK SYSTEM LOCKED ALL DOORS AND WOULD NOT RELEASE. THERE IS NO MECHANICAL OVER RIDE AND THE DRIVE WAS TRAPPED IN THE CAR. AFTER ATTEMPTING RELEASE MULTIPLE TIMES THE LOCK RELEASED AND THE DRIVER COULD EXIT BY CLIMBING OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE AND EXITING THE PASSENGER DOOR. WHEN OUTSIDE THE CAR AND ATTEMPTING TO UNLOCK IT THE DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF. IF THIS HAD BEEN AN EMERGENCY OR A CAR FIRE THE DRIVER WOULD HAVE DIED. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED TO A MAZDA CX7 BECAUSE THERE IS A UTUBE PROCEDURE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. MAZDA NEEDS TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES AND FIX THE PROBLEM WITH A MECHANICAL OVER RIDE PROCEDURE. I DON'T KNOW IF THE CX5 AND CX9 HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT MY GUESS IS YES. THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED IN STORE PARKING LOT. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN IN AB ACCIDENT.
IN MARCH 20, 2018 I HAVE RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL LETTER FROM MAZDA (PO BOX 1091, ROYAL OAK, MI 48068); SAFETY RECALL 9716H, NHTSA CAMPAIGN NO. 16V-593. I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, SUBURBAN MAZDA, 37911 GRAND RIVER AVE., FARMINGTON HILLS MI 48335 (248-471-0800) WHERE THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME ABOUT NON AVAILABILITY OF THE REQUIRED PART AT THAT TIME (04-18-2018). MANAGER STATED ONCE THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WILL RECEIVE THE PART THEY WILL CONTACT ME TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. AS OF TODAY (SEPT. 17, 2018) THE MAZDA, SUBURBAN IMPORTS OF FARMINGTON HILLS, SERVICE DEPARTMENT DID NOT NOTIFY ME ABOUT AVAILABILITY OF THE PART AND THE SCHEDULING OF THE REPAIR. *TR
HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY FOGGED UP ON THE INSIDE CAUSING BAD ILLUMINATION AT NIGHT. ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS TO BE SEALED PROPERLY, MOISTURE IS STILL ENTERING ASSEMBLY.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FREQUENTLY, EVERY THREE TO FOUR MONTHS, GO OUT. LIGHTING IS SO POOR WHEN THEY DO WORK THAT WE DO NOT USE THE VEHICLE AFTER DARK IF AT ALL POSSIBLE AND THEN USE THE HIGH BEAMS TO OPERATE SAFELY.
ON 4/18/18 - WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, ALL OF A SUDDEN AND WITH NO WARNING, PUSHING GAS PEDAL, IT REVED UP INTO GEAR, STAYED THERE AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN BANGED INTO NEXT GEAR AND PROCEEDED TO DO THE SAME THROUGH THE REMAINING GEARS. THEN THE AT LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I TURNED THE CAR AROUND AND DROVE BACK TO THE OFFICE (THIS WAS AT LUNCH TIME). WHEN I LEFT THE OFFICE FOR THE EVENING, THE CAR NOW WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE. I ENDED UP HAVING IT TOWED TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP. I WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. NOW I WOULD PROBABLY BE INCLINED TO AGREE BUT THE CAR DOES NOT EVEN HAVE 65K MILES ON IT!!! EVERYONE I HAVE TALKED TO SAID THAT IS NOT NORMAL FOR A TRANSMISSION TO GO WITH THAT FEW MILES ON IT. SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG HERE.
THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE IN OCT 2016 , I HAD ALREADY LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND HAD AN ACCIDENT IN SEPT 2016 AND HAD TO PAY INSURANCE FEES STORAGE FEES AND LOST WAGES DUE TO ACCIDENT. MAZDA SENT ME A LETTER AS OF MARCH 2018 SAYING THAT THET NOW HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT AFTER 6 MONTHS..I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND LOST CONTROL OF STEERING AND CRASHED INTO A PARKED CAR. I WOULD LIKE TO FIND OUT HOW I CAN BE COMPENSATED BECAUSE I LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF DEFECT

MODERN MAZDA DODGE RAM (68 WATERBURY RD, THOMASTON, CT) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. AUG 10,2016 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER9716H NHTSA RECALL NUMBER16V-593 RECALL STATUSRECALL INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE. I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 2 YEARS AGO, BUT NOTHING SINCE!
CAR WAS PURCHASED MAY 2011. I CANNOT REMEMBER WHEN IT ALL STARTED. ALL REPAIRS WERE MADE AT JIM ELLIS MAZDA, COBB PKWY, MARIETTA, GA FROM PURCHASE UNTIL SEPT. 2017 WHEN I BECAME FED UP. MY HEADLAMPS FOGGED UP AFTER A YEAR OR SO, THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL. MY HEADLAMP BULBS HAD TO BE REPLACED EVERY 3 TO 6 MONTHS AND, NOW THEY ARE REPLACED EVERY 2-3 MONTHS. ALL BULBS WERE PURCHASED FROM MAZDA YET ALL BULBS DIED OUT WITHIN 3-6 MONTHS. IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS, HEADLAMP BULBS WERE REPLACED FOUR TIMES. 4 NIGHTS AGO, I WAS STOPPED BY THE POLICE DUE TO NO HEADLIGHTS. THE POLICE WATCHED WHILE I CHECKED DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS, HIGH BEAMS, LOW BEAMS AND, AT 9 P.M. LATE EVENING GEORGIA/EST, I HAD NO RUNNING LIGHTS. I TOOK THE CAR TO MAZDA ROSWELL THE NEXT MORNING. WHEN I DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM, STEPHANIE JOHNSON, SERVICE ADVISOR MANAGER IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZED THE PROBLEM BY INQUIRING HOW OFTEN I HAD TO CHANGE MY BULBS IN THE CAR. NO SERVICE ADVISOR HAD PREVIOUSLY ASKED THAT QUESTION AT THE MARIETTA SERVICE DEPARTMENT & NOONE HAS EVER ADVISED TO USE ONLY MAZDA PARTS. UNFORTUNATELY, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MAZDA 3 DAYS LATER ALLEGING THAT MY HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS FRIED BECAUSE I DID NOT USE MAZDA MANUFACTURED BULBS. MAZDA IS BILLING ME $130 FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC THOUGH THEY KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE CAR, & IS CHARGING ME $313 TO REPLACE AND REPAIR THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WHEN MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE HAD A SHORTAGE FOR 6 OF THE 7 YEARS THAT I OWNED THE CAR. I STOPPED USING MAZDA SERVICE AFTER 6 YEARS BECAUSE NOT ONLY COULD THEY NOT FIND OR FIX THE CONSISTENT HEADLAMP PROBLEM BUT MAZDA SERVICE WOULD FIND A REPAIR THAT I HAD NOT COMPLAINED OF. IN FACT, I ONCE TOOK THE CAR IN & BROUGHT MY OWN HIGHER QUALITY HEADLAMPS & MAZDA RETURNED MY CAR W/O REPLACING THE BURNED OUT BULBS. THIS CAR WAS DEFECTIVE WHEN SOLD BUT NOT RISING TO THE LEVEL OF LEMON LAW COMPLAINTS.

FRONT SUSPENSION BALL JOINT FITTING. WATER MAY ENTER THE FRONT SUSPENSION BALL JOINT FITTING. DRIVING ON ROADWAYS DURING THE WINTER MONTHS IN AREAS THAT USE ROADWAY SALTS CAN LEAD TO SALT AND WATER INTRUSION INTO THE BALL JOINT CAUSING CORROSION. AS A RESULT THE BALL JOINT LOOSENS AND A RATTLE MAY OCCUR. EXTENDED OPERATION IN THIS CONDITION WILL DETERIORATE THE BALL JOINT AND THE LOWER CONTROL ARM COULD SEPARATE. SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL MAY INCREASE THE CHANCE OF A FATAL CRASH. AT THIS TIME WE ARE EXPERIENCING A SMALL RATTLE IN THE FRONT.

WAITING TOO LONG FOR REMEDY TO RECALL ON FRONT SUSPENSION BALL JOINT FITTING THAT MAY EFFECT STEERING.
FRONT SUSPENSION BALL JOINT FITTING: UPON EITHER RECEIVING OR LEARNING OF THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE LAST YEAR, MY WIFE AND I CONTACTED OUR LOCAL MAZDA DEALER, FERMAN MAZDA OF BRANDON 9809 E ADAMO DRIVE TAMPA, FL 33619, LAST YEAR. SHE WAS TOLD THAT PARTS WERE NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR OUR VEHICLE AND THAT THEY STARTED REPAIRS IN THE NORTHEAST, BEFORE WINTER ARRIVED, AND WE WOULD BE CONTACTED SUMMER (2018). THE SUMMER HAS COME AND IS ON ITS WAY OUT AND WE STILL HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED. MY WIFE CALLED OUR MAZDA DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY 18 SEPTEMBER 2018, SHE WAS TOLD SHE NEEDED TO BRING IN THE NOTICE, ASSUMING FROM MAZDA, REGARDING THE RECALL NOTICE. MY QUESTION IS: DO ONE NEED THE ACTUAL NOTICE OR CAN ONE USE THE NHTSA RECALL NOTICE TO CARRY OUT THE RECALL.
DEFECTIVE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY: BOTH BRAKE LIGHT TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAVE MELTED INSIDE THE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY. SINCE REPORTING THIS TO MY MAZDA DEALER I HAVE SEEN THE SAME PROBLEM IN OTHER MAZDA CX-7'S. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN: TITLE 49: TRANSPORTATION PART 571'FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS SUBPART B'FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS 571.108 STANDARD NO. 108; LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT. S14.4.1.4.1.3 WHERE THE SAMPLE DEVICE DOES NOT HAVE UNIFORM SPECTRAL CHARACTERISTICS IN ALL USEFUL DIRECTIONS, COLOR MEASUREMENTS MUST BE MADE AT AS MANY DIRECTIONS OF VIEW AS ARE REQUIRED TO EVALUATE THE COLOR FOR THOSE DIRECTIONS THAT APPLY TO THE END USE OF THE DEVICE. IT SEEMS THAT EITHER THE MAZDA DOES NOT WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM, OR MY MAZDA DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY BY REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY SHOULD EITHER BE REPLACED AT NO COST OR REDESIGNED IN A WAY TO STOP THE MELTING FROM OCCURRING. I HAVE REPORTED TO THIS DEFECT TO OUR LOCAL MAZDA DEALER.
TAKATA RECALL - I WAS NOTIFIED MARCH 2017 THAT MY VEHICLE WAS PART OF THE RECALL CAMPAIGN 16V-356 AND THAT PASSENGERS SHOULD NOT RIDE IN MY VEHICLE UNTIL THE AIRBAG WAS REPLACED. NOW IT APPEARS THAT RECALL WAS SUPERCEDED BY ANOTHER, CAMPAIGN 17V-429, BUT MAZDA DOES NOT SHOW MY VEHICLE INCLUDED WHEN I KEY IN THE VIN ONLINE OR CALL THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER 800 222-5500. THE AIRBAG HAS NOT YET BEEN REPLACED AND I WANT THE WORK DONE ASAP. MY HUSBAND REFUSES TO RIDE IN THE VEHICLE AND THE WAIT FOR REPAIR HAS BEEN UNACCEPTABLE. I UNDERSTAND THAT VEHICLES IN ZONE A ARE CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. MY VEHICLE WAS FIRST REGISTERED IN CALIFORNIA AND I LIVED THERE UP UNTIL A SHORT TIME AGO WHEN I MOVED TO OREGON. I BELIEVE THE HUMIDITY IN EUREKA (MY FORMER HOME) MAY HAVE AFFECTED THE AIRBAG AND THINK MY VEHICLE SHOULD STILL BE PART OF THIS CAMPAIGN FOR REPLACEMENT. NO ONE AT MAZDA OR NHTSA CAN EXPLAIN WHY MY VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE FIRST RECALL CAMPAIGN AND NOT THE SECOND IF THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RECTIFIED. THE NHTSA CUSTOMER SERVICE REP SAID THAT I MAY GET A LETTER IN THE FUTURE ABOUT THE RECALL, BUT AT PRESENT HER DATABASE DID NOT LIST IT. I DON'T THINK THIS IS AN APPROPRIATE RESPONSE. IF THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS, IT NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED AND I HAVE WAITED LONG ENOUGH FOR THAT TO HAPPEN. IF I, OR ANYONE ELSE IN MY VEHICLE IS HURT OR KILLED BECAUSE OF THIS NEGLIGENCE, THERE WILL BE LEGAL ACTION TAKEN.

DEFECTIVE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THEY ARE BOTH "MELTING" FROM THE INSIDE AND HAVE REPORTED TO THE DEALER AND WARRANTY CARRIERS TO NO AVAIL. THEY RESPONDED THAT I MUST HAVE CHANGED THE BULBS FOR AFTERMARKET ONES AND THAT COULD HAVE POSSIBLY OVERHEATED AND MELTED THE ASSEMBLY. I HAVE NOT CHANGED THE BULBS UNTIL TODAY (I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW FROM THE DEALER). 8 OUT OF 10 CX-7'S I SEE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, BOTH TAIL LIGHTS MELTING. LOOKS LIKE SNOW INSIDE THE ASSEMBLY. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN THAT COULD LEAD TO POTENTIAL ACCIDENTS. DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY BUT I FEEL THEY SHOULD BE REPLACED AT NO COST.

TAKATA RECALL. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE ALWAYS BLOWING OUT. HAVE TO REPLACE EVERY 6 MONTHS OR SOONER
MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 9716H SUMMARY: WATER MAY ENTER THE FRONT SUSPENSION BALL JOINT FITTING. DRIVING ON ROADWAYS DURING THE WINTER MONTHS IN AREAS THAT USE ROADWAY SALTS CAN LEAD TO SALT AND WATER INTRUSION INTO THE BALL JOINT, CAUSING CORROSION, WHICH CAN RESULT IN LOOSENESS OF THE BALL JOINT IN THE FITTING. AS A RESULT OF THE LOOSENESS, A RATTLE MAY OCCUR AT THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT. AFTER EXTENDED OPERATION IN THIS CONDITION, IN THE WORST CASE THE BALL JOINT AND LOWER CONTROL ARM MAY SEPARATE. SAFETY RISK: THE VEHICLE MAY EXPERIENCE SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. REMEDY: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS. AS OF DATE, I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY COMMUNICATION AS TO WHEN THE LOWER CONTROL ARMS WILL BE REPLACED ON MY VEHICLE.

I RECEIVED A NOTICE ON OCTOBER, 2016 THAT THERE MIGHT EXIST A DEFECT TO MY MAZDA CX-7 2011 MODEL WITH THE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER ARM BALL JOINT FITTING DURING DRIVING. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE TO HAVE A REPAIR DONE. I FEEL THAT IT MAY BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE Y CAR. WHY IS MAZDA CORPORATION ALLOWED TO TAKE SO LONG IN ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE?
CAR ACCELERATES WHEN IDLING IN DRIVE OR REVERSE EVEN WITH FOOT ON BRAKE. CAUSES MANY NEAR ACCIDENTS WHEN PARKING OR IDLING. SEEMS TO BE CONNECTED WITH AC COMPRESSOR. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED.

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS CONTINUOUSLY NEED REPLACING...AVERAGING A SET EVERY SIX MONTHS. THE BULBS ARE BLOWN WHEN FIRST TURNED ON OR WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT IN RURAL AREAS. DO NOT USE LIGHTS DURING THE DAY UNLESS RAINING.
MY CAR WILL LUNGE FORWARD WHEN IDLE AND WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. IT'S VERY DANGEROUS AND HAS NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN 2013.
CAR WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO BACK OUT OF A DRIVEWAY, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE INTO REVERSE. I WAS ABLE TO PUSH IT OUT AND DRIVE IT TO SMITHAVEN MAZDA. THIS CAR WAS ABLE TO RUN IN DRIVE BUT WOULD BOG DOWN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WOULD TRY TO SHIFT. THE DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME AND THE NEXT DAY I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANGER AT MAZDA AND HE PERFORMED A DIOGNOSTIC ON THE CAR. HE CALLED LATER THAT DAY TO INFORM ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS BLOWN AND THE COST TO REPLACE IT WOULD BE $4,300. THIS CAR HAS 72,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2011. THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND EVERY RECOMENDED REPAIR AND SCHEDULED MAINTENAINCE WAS PERFORMED. I AM INTERESTED IN CONTACTING MAZDA OF AMERICA TO COMPLAIN ABOUT A FAILED TRANSMISSION ON A CAR THAT WAS WELL MAINTAINED AND WAS NOT DRIVEN ABUSIVELY.SO FAR I HAVE HAD REPAIR ESTIMATES FROM $3,000 TO $4,300 AT THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE READ OF COMPLAINTS OF TRANSMISSION FALURES WITH OTHER MAZDA CX7 OWNERS. MAZDA SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DEFECTIVE CAR PART , CONSIDERING A CAR THAT WAS VERY WELL MAINTAINED AT THE DEALER. MAZDA OFFERED NO APOLOGY OR EXPLANATION AS TO WHY THIS TRANSMISSION WOULD FAIL ON A CAR WITH THIS MILEAGE AND MAINTENANCE RECORD.

TAKATA RECALL. I WAS NOTIFIED IN JULY OF 2016 THAT MY VEHICLE WAS RECALLED DUE TO A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. I LIVE IN FLORIDA WHERE TEMPERATURES AND HUMIDITY ARE VERY HIGH, SO I AM IN A HIGH RISK AREA FOR A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. I CHECKED WITH MY DEALER TODAY - THEY ARE STILL AWAITING REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. IT IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE THAT YOU REMEDY THIS PROBLEM, AS I AM PLANNING A LONG DISTANCE TRIP THIS XMAS AND I HAVE NOTIFIED MY MAZDA DEALER OF THIS.
FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET OUR HEADLIGHTS TO WORK PROPERLY WITH NO SUCCESS. EVEN WHEN BOTH DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE WORKING THEY ARE SO DIMM WE CAN'T DRIVE WITH THEM AND IF ONE OF THEM GOES OUT WE MIGHT AS WELL NOT HAVE A HEADLIGHT. I HAVE A VW AND IF ONE OF IT'S LOW BEAM LIGHTS IS OUT IT IS 100 TIMES BRIGHTER THAN THE MAZDA WITH BOTH LOW BEAMS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF WE ARE OUT AT NIGHT WE HAVE TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS WHICH BLINDS ON COMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO JIM ELLIS MAZDA TWICE AND THE FIRST TIME I DIDN'T EVEN GET HOME WITH OUT THE LIGHT FALLING OUT. TOOK IT BACK AND THEY ASSURED ME IF WAS FIXED BUT IT WASN'T AND NOW THE SERVICE REP NOR THE SERVICE MANAGER WILL EVEN RETURN MY CALL. I HAVE HAD IT TO 3 DIFFERENT LOCAL SHOPS AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT EITHER. ONE OF THEM FINALLY GOT THE LIGHT FROM FALLING OUT AND REPLACED THEM BOTH WITH THE BRIGHEST LIGHT WE COULD FIND AND THEY ARE STILL VERY VERY DIMM. I HAVE ALSO SPENT HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS ON THIS ISSUE SO IT IS NOT ONLY DANGEROUS BUT VERY DISAPPOINTING NOT TO MENTION VERY DANGEROUS. THANKS, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

HEADLIGHTS ON THE CAR GO OUT FREQUENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I HAVE TO CHANGE THEM 3-4 TIMES A YEAR ON BOTH SIDES. THIS IS BECOMING A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND A HUGE EXPENSE AS THE HEADLIGHTS COST $30 A PIECE.
I HAD TO REPLACE THE LOWER HEADLIGHT SEVERAL TIME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE SINCE PURCHASE IN 2013. TWO TIME AFTER THE BULB WAS REPLACE THE LIGHT WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING HOME AT NIGHT. AGAIN AS OF MAY 4, 2016 THE HEADLIGHT US NOT WORKING.
THE HEAD LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED OVER THREE TIMES IN LEAST THAN TWO YEARS. THE CONDENSATION ON THE COVERS MAKES IT DIFFICULT SEEING WHERE ONE IS DRIVING. THIS I BELIEVE IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS CONDENSATION HAS ALSO CAUSED MY RADIO TO LOSE ITS SOUND. THE BATTERY WILL NOT START IF IT RAINS OR ITS COLD.
LEFT/DRIVER SIDE FRONT SEAT (MANUAL) HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT IS INOPERABLE. THE SEAT IS STUCK IN HIGHEST POSITION. A DRIVER CAN NO LONGER ADJUST SEAT TO A PROPER DRIVING HEIGHT. THIS OCCURRED IN DECEMBER 2015 VEHICLE WILL BE SERVICED BY A MAZDA DEALERSHIP IN NEXT FEW DAY'S- DEALERSHIP SERVICE ADVISER STATES THEY NEED TO EXAMINE SEAT TO ORDER THE PART'S. I HAD INQUIRED ABOUT PURCHASING A NEW FRONT SEAT.
ON 12/14/2015, I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 60-65 MPH ON A MARYLAND HIGHWAY AT AROUND 10AM. I WAS IN THE NEXT LANE BESIDE THE FAST LANE. THE 2011 MAZDA CX7 STARTED TO DECELERATE. I LOOKED DOWN AT THE GAGES TO MAKE SURE I DIDN'T INADVERTENTLY GO INTO NEUTRAL. I WAS STILL IN DRIVE. I HIT THE BRAKE, NOT COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, AND THEN STEPPED BACK ON THE GAS, PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. IT WENT DOWN TO ABOUT 20 MPH. IN MY REARVIEW MIRROR I SAW A TRACTOR TRAILER COMING TOWARD ME AND THERE WAS NO WHERE I COULD MOVE, AND I COULD NOT SEE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRAILER TO GO INTO THE NEXT LANE WITHOUT HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WAS HIT IN THE REAR BY THE TRAILER. I HAD ON MY SEATBELT AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I CHECKED FOR CARS IN THE FAST LANE AND SLOWLY MOVED ONTO THE SHOULDER. THE DRIVER OF THE TRUCK FOLLOWED ME. I PURCHASED THE CAR USED LAST YEAR FROM MILE ONE IN BALTIMORE, MD. THE CAR FAX FOR THE VEHICLE WAS GREAT, WITH NO ISSUES. I GOT OIL CHANGES EVERY 6K MILES, MY LAST ONE BEING IN SEPTEMBER 2015, AT JIFFY LUBE. THIS WAS MY FIRST INSTANCE WITH ANY ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION ISSUES. IF THERE WAS AN ISSUE, I DID NOT GET ANY INDICATION LIGHT ON MY DASH BOARD THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE.
MY FRONT HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I CAN HARDLY SEE WHEN DRIVING AFTER DUSK. EVEN WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON I CAN ONLY SEE ABOUT TWO CAR LENGTHS IN FRONT OF ME. THEY LOOK FOGGED UP. I WAS GETTING GAS LAST WEEK AND A GENTLEMAN CAME OVER AND ASKED IF HE COULD CLEAN MY HEADLIGHTS...FREE OF CHARGE BUT HE FELT IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE. I TOLD HIM I AGREED BUT THAT THEY COULDN'T BE CLEANED. HE DID GIVE IT A TRY BUT IT WAS FUTILE. THE FILM THAT SEEMS TO BE COVERING THE LENS IS ON THE INSIDE...OR I THINK IT IS BECAUSE IT CANNOT BE SCRUBBED OFF. IT IS REALLY SCARY DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND NEW LIGHT BULBS DID NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. I BELIEVE IT IS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT THAT IF JUST BEING IGNORED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MAZDA CX-7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT HEAD LAMPS WOULD NOT PROJECT MORE THAN 10 FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND NEW BULBS WERE INSTALLED, HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LENS COVER WAS FOGGY AND STATED THAT THE HIGH BEAMS HAD TO BE ENGAGED WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000. UPDATED 11/18/15*LJ
I WAS DRIVING AT A NORMAL RATE OF SPEED ON A FAIRLY BUSY STREET WHEN THE CAR JUST SUDDENLY DECELERATED, CAUSING THE CAR BEHIND ME TO SWERVE TO NARROWLY AVOID ME. THANKFULLY HE ALSO AVOIDED HITTING ANYONE ELSE. MY CAR CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD, BUT WITH NO ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. I MANAGED TO GET CLEAR OF TRAFFIC AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO A REPAIR PLACE NEARBY. I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENTIRE THROTTLE BODY WAS BAD, AND THAT IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE CAR IS A 2011, LESS THAN 60K MILES ON IT WITH REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND HAS NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES UNTIL THIS. THE COMPLETE AND IMMEDIATE DECELERATION SEEMS QUITE DANGEROUS IN MY OPINION. AND HAVING DONE SOME READING ONLINE, THIS SEEMS TO BE A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM THAT MAZDA IS AWARE OF YET HAS DONE NOTHING TO RECTIFY.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR NOVEMBER OF 2013 I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHTS ONCE AND THE RIGHT HEADLIGHT TWICE. THE HEADLIGHT COVERS EITHER RETAIN MOISTURE OR HEAT UP TO THE POINT THAT IT IS BURNING THE LIGHTS OUT OR MELTING THE COVER. THE COVERS ARE SO FOGGED UP THAT I HAVE TO HAVE THE LIGHTS ON BRIGHT ALL THE TIME TO HAVE ENOUGH LIGHT TO SEE. THERE IS AN OBVIOUS DEFECT MOST PEOPLE DON'T HAVE TO REPLACE HEADLIGHT EVERY 4 TO 6 MONTHS.
ABS MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHTS ARE CONSTANTLY ON. INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE ELECTRICAL CABLE FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE ABS SENSOR WAS BROKEN. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT WHY AND HOW THIS COULD HAPPEN TO A SYSTEM DESIGNED FOR PERSONAL SAFETY AND HOPE FOR IMPROVEMENT OF DESIGN TO PREVENT DAMAGE OR BREAKAGE TO THIS CABLE. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT THIS ISSUE WAS NOT TREATED WITH THE ATTENTION IT SHOULD HAVE AS IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT COULD BE SPLICED TOGETHER AT A COST OF $60.00. REALLY? IS THIS SAFE TO DO? THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW AND BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER.
1. WARNING ILLUMINATOR LIGHT ON INDICATING DRIVER/PASSENGER AIRBAGS MAY REQUIRE REPAIR AND/OR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. 2. REAR TAIL LIGHT: BULB HAS BECOME SO HOT THE BULB IS LITERALLY BURNING THROUGH THE RED CASING OF THE BREAK LIGHT - CONDENSATION OR WIRING IS CAUSING THE BULB TO OVERHEAT.
FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD RETAIN MOISTURE AND FOG UP. THIS HAS SUPPOSEDLY BEEN REPAIRED BY MAZDA, BUT RECURS AND RESULTS WITH POOR HEADLIGHT ILLUMINATION. THE ILLUMINATION PROVIDED BY MY HEADLIGHTS IS REDUCED CONSIDERABLY DUE TO THIS DEFECT. I HAVE 17,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE NOW AND HAVE REPEATEDLY TRIED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM CORRECTED. I BELIEVE THIS DEFECT TO IMPOSE A DANGER. *TR
PURCHASED (NEW) - JULY 4TH, 2011. ONE MONTH IN, THE FRONT DRIVER TIRE BLOWS OUT ON THE 55 FREEWAY IN COSTA MESA. THE CAR IS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER THE NEXT DAY - TO HAVE A TIRE PLACED ON. THE PRICE WAS SURELY "SURPRISE SURPRISE" - $250.00. WE PUSH TO KNOW WHY THE TIRE WAS SO EXPENSIVE, IT'S BECAUSE THE SIZE IS NEW FOR THIS SIZE VEHICLE AND THERE'S ONE MAKER OF THE TIRE. BRIDGESTONE. WE PAY FOR IT BEGRUDGINGLY, AND GO ABOUT OUR WAY. FEBRUARY 6TH, 2015, 3 YEARS, 6 MONTHS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HISTORY IS GOOD, MAINTENANCE IS EXCELLENT (MY WIFE IS A THERAPIST FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM SO THAT'S WHY VEHICLE CHOICE WAS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - TRAVELING CLIENT TO CLIENT IN ADMINISTERING THERAPY SESSIONS) AND WITHOUT WARNING, SHE CANNOT REVERSE. CAR CAN DRIVE FORWARD, YET IS LOSING POWER WHEN THE AUTOMATIC ATTEMPTS TO SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR, SO IT JUMPS FROM FIRST TO 3RD. WE TAKE THE VEHICLE TO BROWNING MAZDA IN CERRITOS AND WE ARE ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ($3,200.00). 3 YEARS 6 MONTHS 64,262 MILES, EXCELLENT MAINTENANCE HISTORY, & THIS VEHICLE NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION? THIS FELT LIKE A TERRIBLE JOKE. THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY? 3Y/60K. EXPIRED JUST OVER 4,000 MILES AGO. WE CONTACT MAZDA (CORPORATE) & ARE ADVISED LATER IN THE DAY THAT THEY WOULD PAY HALF OF THE TICKETED AMOUNT. THAT'S STILL EGREGIOUS AS THERE WOULDN'T BE A VEHICLE SOLD IF MOST BUYERS KNEW THAT AT SUCH RIDICULOUSLY LOW MILEAGE, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD FAIL THEM. WE RETRIEVE THE VEHICLE AND HAVE IT LOOKED AT FOR TWO MORE OPINIONS AND APPARENTLY THERE ARE NO CODES INDICATING THE TRANSMISSION IS BAD, YET IT'S OBVIOUSLY THE TRANSMISSION ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC AS INDICATED SIMPLY BY THE TEST DRIVE. *TR
VEHICLE EXHIBITS SUDDEN ACCELERATION. APPROX 25% TO 35% OF THE TIME VEHICLE WILL LURCH FORWARD WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. VEHICLE BEHAVES AS IF THE ACCELERATOR IF PRESSED DOWN ALL THE WAY, EVEN THOUGH IT IS BARELY ENGAGED. SOMETIMES THE ACCELERATION IS SO STRONG THAT THE TIRES WILL BREAK LOOSE. SUDDEN ACCELERATION STARTS AT ABOUT 2MPH AND STOPS BY 10MPH. APPROX 5% TO 10% OF THE TIME WILL HAPPEN IN REVERSE AS WELL. ON APPROX. NOV 1, 2014 THIS SUDDEN ACCELERATION CAUSED AN CRASH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING PARKED. *TR
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED IN MAY OF 2013 I ONLY HAD THE VEHICLE 2 DAYS AND HAD TO REPLACE THE DRIVERS HEAD LIGHT. ON DECEMBER 17TH THE DRIVERS HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AGAIN AND ON THE 19TH OF DECEMBER THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT HAS GONE OUT. *TR
FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THE PLASTIC LENS ON THE XENON HEADLIGHTS HAS BEEN CLOUDY. THE VEHICLE IS GARAGED AND PRESENTLY HAS JUST 15,000 MILES. THE CLOUDY HEADLIGHT LENS REDUCE VISIBILITY. THE DEALER FROM THE DATE OF DELIVERY STATES CLOUDINESS IS NORMAL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MAZDA CX7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOORS AUTOMATIC LOCK SYSTEM FAILED AND THEY DO NOT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY. THE DOOR CAN ONLY BE LOCKED MANUALLY. THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE DOOR LOCK SYSTEM; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,500.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK YESTERDAY MORNING WHEN SHE HEARD A LOUD NOISE THAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. SHE IMMEDIATELY NOTICED GLASS FLYING OFF OF THE TOP OF THE CAR. APPARENTLY THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND MY WIFE AT THE TIME SO IT DID NOT GET HIT BY A ROCK OR ANY OTHER DEBRIS FROM THE ROAD. THE GOOD THING IS THAT WHILE MY WIFE WAS SHAKEN UP OVER THE INCIDENT, SHE DID NOT WRECK THE CAR AND THE INNER SHADE WAS SHUT SO THERE WAS NO GLASS IN THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. I TOOK PHOTOS OF THE SUNROOF AND THE REMAINING GLASS IS PUSHED UP AS IF SOMEONE KICKED IT FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.I CAN EMAIL THE PHOTOS IF THEY ARE NEEDED. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR ANY COMPLAINTS OF SUNROOFS EXPLODING ON MAZDA VEHICLES AND TO MY SURPRISE THERE WERE A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM. I THINK THAT THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE CONTACTED MAZDA ABOUT THE INCIDENT AND AM WAITING FOR A RESPONSE BUT WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR, SHE STATED THAT SHE HAD NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE MY WIFE EXPERIENCED. ALL OF THE OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT I FOUND ON THE INTERNET STATED THAT THEY CONTACTED MAZDA AND THAT NOTHING WAS EVER DONE TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MAZDA CX-7. THE CONTACT STATED WHEN HE TURNED THE VEHICLE ON AND SHIFT INTO DRIVE GEAR ALL FIVE DOORS FAIL TO LOCK UNLESS HE MANUALLY LOCKED THEM. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER OR LOCAL MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,200. UPDATED 1/16/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE, THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK AUTOMATICALLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MAZDA CX7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD BECAME CRACKED WITHOUT WARRANT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
PURCHASED VEHICLE ON 2/27/2011. 1) DEC 27 2011 REPLACED DRIVERS HEADLAMP. 2) 4/18/12 BATTERY ISSUE. CAR WOULD NEED JUMP STARTS RANDOMLY 3) 8/18/12 PASSENGER HEADLAMP REPLACED 4) 11/5/12 BATTERY REPLACED 5) 12/21/12 DRIVERS HEADLAMP REPLACED 6) 7/1/13 DRIVERS HEADLAMP REPLACED. WENT TO 2 DIFFERENT DEALERS TO REPLACE ITEMS. BOTH DEALERS ASSURED ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ELECTRICAL AND IT WAS JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS. UNFORTUNATELY 4 HEADLAMPS AND A BATTERY WITHIN 2 YEARS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE IS JUST RIGHT. *TR
FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED MY CX7 THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THE AIR CONDITIONER MADE LOUD BANGING NOISES AND DOES NOT GET COLD. WHEN I WAS AT MY WITS END AND TOOK CX7 TO DEALER AT 9,600 MILES MAZDA SAID I HAD A BAD MASTER CYLINDER AND REPLACED IT. WHEN THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MAZDA ORDERED ANOTHER MASTER CYLINDER AND A BRAKE BOOSTER. WHEN THESE WERE REPLACED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. MAZDA SAID MY ENGINE WAS RUNNING ON A LEAN MIXTURE AND CORRECTED THIS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS OFF CX7 RUNS VERY ROUGHLY. ONLY USE PREMIUM GASOLINE AND SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL. MAZDA FIELD REPRESENTATIVE ADVISED ME AND DEALER THAT LOUD NOISE FROM AIR CONDITIONER IS NORMAL AND TYPICAL OF ALL SIMILAR MAZDA VEHICLES. I HAVE THIS DOCUMENTATION REGARDING A/C IN WRITING FROM MAZDA. AIR CONDITIONER BARLEY GETS CAR COOL, IS INEFFECTIVE WHEN TEMPERATURE IS NINETY DEGREES. MY BRAKES ARE SLIGHTLY BETTER, BUT STILL LOW AND SOFT. CX7 RUNS EXTREMELY ROUGH AND IS GETTING VERY POOR GAS MILEAGE. *TR
FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED MY MAZDA CX7 IN AUGUST 2011 I FELT THE BRAKES DID NOT APPLY PROPERLY. THERE WAS AN INCIDENT IN 2011 WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE CX7 DID NOT STOP I HAD TO BRING THE CX7 TO A STOP BY TURNING OFF THE ENGINE. WHEN TO DEALER AND TOLD NO PROBLEM FOUND. I WAS SICK AND DID NOT DRIVE CX7 REGULARLY AGAIN UNTIL APRIL 2013. CX 7 STILL HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS AND THIS TIME TOLD MASTER CYLINDER WAS BAD AND IT WAS REPLACED. AFTER LEAVING DEALER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WAS TOLD CX7 WAS RUNNING ON A LEAN MIXTURE AND THIS WAS CORRECTED. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND NOW TOLD BRAKE BOOSTER WAS BAD. BRAKE BOOSTER ORDERED AND TO BE INSTALLED IN A DAY OR TWO. AS ALSO EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH AIR CONDITIONING. WHEN UNIT FIRST TURNED ON THERE IS A VERY LOUD BANGING NOISE. SYSTEM ONLY COOLS WHEN TRAVELING OVER 50-MPH. SYSTEM DOES NOT COOL WHEN IN TRAFFIC. A/C DOES NOTHING WHEN TEMPERATURE OVER NINETY DEGREES. I BELIEVE A/C IS AFFECTING PERFORMANCE OF TURBO ON MY CX7. MAZDA FIELD ENGINEER SAID THAT THE MORNING BANGING NOISE I AM GETTING IS TYPICAL OF ALL SIMILAR VEHICLES. THIS VEHICLE IS SERVICED EVERY 3,000 MILES AT WHICH TIME NEW SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL AND FILTER ARE INSTALLED. THE PRIVATE MECHANIC THAT I USE ADVISES ME THAT HE BELIEVES A/C TO BE FAULTY AND TURBO NOT TO BE PERFORMING CORRECTLY. MY MECHANIC SAID BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE BEGINNING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MAZDA CX-7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED, THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A BANGING AND RATTLING SOUND. THE CONTACT STATED THE SOUND WAS ALSO HEARD WHEN THE TURBO WAS ACTIVATED. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR WITH OR WITHOUT THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MAZDA CX7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AT ENGINE STARTUP, A CRACKING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 300 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2600. WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING OR NOW ON THESE COLD DAY THE WINDSHIELDS MAKES A CRACKING SOUND AS THE CAR WARMS UP. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY. AM AFRAID IT MAY SHATTER. UPDATED 1/20/2012 *BF
THE CONTROLS ESSENTIAL FOR VEHICLE OPERATION (SPEEDOMETER, TACHOMETER, TRANSMISSION GEAR PLACEMENT), OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE CENTER "CLUSTER" CONTROLS ARE ILLUMINATED REGARDLESS IF HEADLIGHTS ARE ON OR OFF. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS, THUS MAKING THIS ISSUE MORE PRESSING. WHEN THE DASH CONTROLS ARE ILLUMINATED, YOU FORGET TO TURN ON YOUR HEAD LAMPS TO MAKE YOURSELF VISIBLE TO OTHER VEHICLES. MAZDA STATED THAT THE DASH CONTROLS ARE ILLUMINATED IN ORDER TO MAKE GAUGES MORE VISIBLE. MY WHOLE ARGUMENT HAS BEEN THAT IF I AM HAVING EVEN THE SLIGHTEST DIFFICULTY SEEING MY DASHBOARD DUE TO POOR LIGHTING (WHETHER IT BE CLOUDY, DARK, DUSK, ETC.) MY HEAD LAMPS SHOULD BE ON. IF THE DASH IS ILLUMINATED, YOU WILL FORGET TO TURN ON YOUR HEAD LAMPS. THIS HAS ALREADY CAUSED ONE ACCIDENT, AND I AM AFRAID THAT IT MAY LEAD TO MORE IN THE FUTURE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 MAZDA CX-7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS WERE NOT ADEQUATELY ILLUMINATED DURING DAYLIGHT. THE ADJUSTMENT FOR THE LIGHTING WOULD NOT MAKE THEM BRIGHTER AND HE WAS UNABLE TO DISTINGUISH THE GAUGES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT ADJUST THE LIGHTING ANY FURTHER AND LATER ADVISED THAT THE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 2,400 AND THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 792.
