Transmission cooler which i manufactured inside the radiator failed causing transmission fluid to mix with anti-freeze/coolant, now the transmission slips and per recommendation from a mercedes dealership the vehicle needs a new transmission, torque converter, radiator, radiator cap, new upper and lower radiator hoses, new upper and lower radiator overflow hoses, new thermostat and the entire cooling system to be flushed and the transmission lines to be flushed, estimated at $11,200 for the repair

The contact owns a 2011 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, a strong fuel odor was detected inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact rolled down the windows, but the fuel odor was still detectable. The contact pulled over and inspected the vehicle, but there was no visible fuel leakage. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and it was diagnosed that a cover for the passenger's side fuel sending unit was leaking gasoline. The passenger's side fuel sending unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 194,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The back of the driver seat failed due to my car being rear ended. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Unable to sit looking straight forward when driving. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. By Mercedes Benz dealer Fletcher Jones of Newport Beach, CA. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? I have reported the problem to my auto insurance co.: AAA. AAA said they need to send their own appraiser to confirm the finding of the Mercedes Benz dealer. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? None. My auto was rear ended on 3-22-21. Immediately, the problem was reported to AAA. Prior to 3-22-21, my auto was with my regular repair shop for regular oil changes and nothing was reported was wrong with the driver seat. I waiting for AAA decision in order to do repairs. I have three emails from Mercedes dealer and from AAA auto insurance. I could not figure out to forward them to you.

We took our car into the local Mercedes Benz Dealership at Ft. Washington, PA for a routine service and PA inspection. Our vehicle is a 2011 MB E 4 matic and has ~70K miles. We received a call stating that the rear subframe of the vehicle had failed and was not considered safe and therefore did not pass the PA state inspection. We authorized the dealership to replace the component, which was done. The dealership suggested the corrosion may be caused by salt used for removing snow. The car was garaged routinely, washed including undercarriage routinely and the google search suggested that the amount of snow since 2011 was lower than normal. I explored the internet and it appears that this issue has been documented by others for this and other models of MB vehicles. I also found a police inquiry which suggests failure of this component could cause the vehicle to lose control during driving. I spoke with the MB USA people and they did not think there was a significant issue and that this was not a recall or warranty issue currently. I wanted to report this to you for reference.

The rear "K" suspension subframe assembly had to be replaced because of rust internally in the vehicle frame. There was no other rust, internally or externally visible, on the entire car. My mechanic indicated that the car would not pass inspection without major repairs at a cost of over $2800. If the subframe became disconnected, steering control would be lost resulting in a potentially serious injury due to loss of directional control at high speeds. My mechanic has already replaced parts to repair this issue on at least 4 other cars within a short period of time.

Panoramic roof area is constantly popping loudly during driving across unlevel and uneven surfaces. The sound is very loud and startling causing me to abruptly swerve or break. The repair shop is able to reproduce the noise and stated: "Origin of noise 42180-42185, noise from center panoramic roof; cross support mounting bar bolts loose, headliner needs to be dropped and bolts tightened). I was also warned the sunroof could loosen to the point that the glass could fall out causing a dangerous road hazard!

Strong smell of gas noted at the driver rear wheel well after a fillup. Under the rear seat, the top of the fuel tank is under a pool of gasoline. The cap that covers pump/filter/sending units is leaking. I cleaned up the gasoline, and almost immediately the indent on the top of the tank began filling up with gasoline again. Air is getting into the fuel system, making it difficult to start. No warning lights to indicate an issue.

MY 2011 E350 SOFT CONVERTIBLE TOP IS LEAKING HYDRAULIC FLUID FROM THE PISTONS AND THE FLEXIBLE TUBING RUNNING THROUGH THE SOFT TOP ROOF (DRIVERS SIDE) TO THE LOCKING MECHANISM WHICH SECURES IT TO THE WINDSHIELD IS DEVELOPING A SERIOUS KINK THAT WILL LIKELY FAIL SOON AND LEAK FLUID INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. DEFINITELY A POOR DESIGN AS THE LINES DO NOT HAVE A FLEX JOINT AT THE HINGE POINT TO ALLOW FOR REPEATED BENDING DURING OPERATION OF THE TOP. I BELIEVE IT TO BE A BAD DESIGN / PREMATURE FAILURE AND SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM PAID FOR MY MERCEDES BENZ.

PARKPLACE MERCEDES SERVICE CALLED BACK AND STATED THEY HAD TO ORDER THE PART AND IT WOULD BE HERE IN 1-2 DAYS AND COST WOULD BE $1691 FOR NEW ESL PART & LABOR. I ASKED THE SERVICE ASST MANAGER HOW MUCH WAS THE PART AND HE TOLD ME $447. I CALLED THE PARTS DEPARTMENT TO SEE HOW MUCH THE PART WAS AND I WAS TOLD $544 AND ONLY MERCEDES COULD DO THE JOB AND PARTS ARE IN STOCK. A BIT CONFUSED I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH THE PARKPLACE MANAGER OFF LEMMON AVE IN DALLAS AND I WAS TOLD HE WAS UNSURE IF PROGRAM KEY COULD BE ACTIONED BY A AFTER MARKET DEALER BUT WOULD CHECK AND LET ME KNOW. THE ASST MANAGER CALLED BACK AND I ADVISED OF MY CONFUSION AND HE ADVISED HE WOULD SEEK ANSWERS AND CALL ME BACK. IT JUMPED THE CURB ( CAUGHT ON PROPERTY OWNER'S CAMERA, GOING AIR BORN) , AS I CONTINUED TO BRAKE AS HARD AS I COULD WITH THE CAR INCREASINGLY ACCELERATING.I CRASHED THROUGH A FENCE AND HIT A POLE WHICH STOPPED THE CAR DEPLOYING BOTH DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS. THERE WAS SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR, AND IT WAS TOTALED. I WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL VIA AMBULANCE.MY INJURY WAS DIAGNOSED AS ACUTE L1 COMPRESSION FRACTURE ALONG THE SUPERIOR ENDPLATE WITH MILD ANTERIOR WEDGING. "TAKATA RECALL" MERCEDES-BENZ HAS CONSISTENTLY BEEN PUSHING BACK THE REPAIR DATE FOR MY VEHICLE. THE INITIAL REPAIR DATE WAS AUGUST 2018, WHICH THEN A LETTER RECEIVED NOTING IT WOULD BE REMEDIED IN DECEMBER. WHEN DECEMBER ARRIVED, MY LOCAL DEALER NOTED THAT MY VIN SHOWS THAT THERE IS NO LONGER AN EXPECTED REPAIR DATE. I CONTACTED MERCEDES-BENZ DIRECTLY AND THEY JUST NOTED THAT THERE IS NO REMEDY EXPECTED ANYTIME SOON. THE COMPANY HAS ALSO REFUSED TO PROVIDE A VEHICLE IN THE MEANTIME WHILE A REMEDY IS BEING FOUND. PERSONALLY, THE TAKATA AIRBAG ISSUE IS WORRISOME TO MYSELF AND MY FAMILY AND THE FACT THAT MERCEDES-BENZ DOES NOT FEEL ANY SYMPATHY AND WILL NOT PROVIDE ANOTHER VEHICLE DUE TO THE MAJOR SAFETY CONCERNS IS SIMPLY UNPROFESSIONAL. MANY OTHER AUTOMAKERS IS PROVIDING VEHICLES TO THEIR CLIENTS, AND MERCEDES-BENZ SHOULD BE DOING THE SAME. THEY MUST REALIZE THEY PEOPLE DO TRAVEL TO AREAS THEY DO EXPERIENCE HIGH CORROSION RATES AND THEREFORE, THEY ARE MORE LIKELY TO BE AFFECTED THAN THE AVERAGE VEHICLE. MERCEDES-BENZ SHOULD REALLY RETHINK THEIR STANCE ON THESE RECALLS FOR THEIR CLIENTS.

THEN A YEAR AND A HALF LATER ON DECEMBER, 2017 I RECEIVED THE SECOND LETTER TELLING ME MY VEHICLE IS PART OF PRIORITY GROUP 4 AND REPLACEMENT PARTS WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL MARCH 31, 2018. ON JANUARY, 2018 I RECEIVE THE THIRD LETTER TELLING ME MY VEHICLE IS NOW BEING MOVED TO PRIORITY GROUP 6 AND REPLACEMENT PARTS WON'T BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 2018. ON JANUARY, 2019 A YEAR SINCE I RECEIVED THE LAST LETTER I WENT ON TO HTTPS://WWW.MBUSA.COM/RECALL AND I PUT IN MY INFORMATION AND THE WEBSITE TOLD ME THE PART AVAILABILITY IS EXPECTED FOR JULY, 2019. ALMOST THREE YEARS LATER FEBRUARY 9, 2016 ' JANUARY 15, 2019 MERCEDES STILL HASN'T FIXED MY AIRBAG AND I FEEL THEY ARE TREATING MY SITUATION AS NO BIG DEAL. FUEL TANK WAS FILLED UNTIL AUTOMATIC NOZZLE SHUT OFF WAS ACTIVATED. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME APPROX 3.5 MILES AND PARKED IN THE STREET. NEXT DAY THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF FUEL APPROX 2 FT X 2 FT ON THE PAVEMENT AND UNDER THE CAR, JUST FORWARD OF THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. I WATCHED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, AND NOTICED IT WAS STILL LEAKING AT THE RATE OF ONE DROP APPROX EVERY 2 MINS. THINKING THAT PERHAPS A HOSE BETWEEN THE FILL PORT AND FUEL TANK WAS LEAKING, I DROVE IT FOR APPROX 15 MINS, HOPING TO UTILIZE ENOUGH FUEL TO LOWER THE LEVEL OF FUEL IN THE TANK AND/OR HOSE. I RETURNED HOME AND PARKED THE CAR AGAIN. THE CAR WAS STILL DRIPPING FUEL AT THE SAME RATE. I MOVED THE VEHICLE INTO MY DRIVEWAY TO TRY TO ASCERTAIN THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK. I JACKED IT UP, REMOVED THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL, BUT STILL COULDN'T SEE THE FUEL TANK CLEARLY. SO I ALSO REMOVED THE PLASTIC WINDAGE PANEL, WHICH COVERS THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE BODY FROM FRONT TO REAR WHEEL. IT WAS COMPLETELY FUEL SOAKED AT THE REAR. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE EXHAUST PIPE, A POSSIBLE SOURCE OF IGNITION, IS ROUTED DIRECTLY IN BACK OF THE FUEL TANK. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON THE MERCEDES FORUM WEBSITE, AND DISCOVERED THAT A DEFECTIVE FUEL FILTER FLANGE, WHICH EVENTUALLY CRACKS AND ALLOWS FUEL TO LEAK AND PUDDLE ON TOP OF THE TANK, IS A COMMON PROBLEM. HOWEVER, IT APPEARS THAT THE "BUILD DATE" OF MY PARTICULAR CAR (08/10) IS NOT COVERED BY MB CAMPAIGN 2013020002. YET, THE PROBLEM IS IDENTICAL TO THE VEHICLES WHICH ARE COVERED, AND RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY.

I PROCEEDED TO REMOVE THE REAR SEAT AND ACCESS COVER TO THE FUEL TANK "SENDING UNIT OR FUEL PUMP" I'M NOT SURE OF THE CORRECT TERMINOLOGY, AND SURE ENOUGH THERE WAS A PUDDLE OF GAS ON TOP OF THE FUEL TANK APPARATUS. I PROCEEDED TO CAREFULLY SOAK UP THE GAS WITH A RAG AND WHEN I DID I COULD SEE GAS SLOWLY SEEPING OUT OF THE CRACKS ON THE UNIT. I WILL BE TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE MERCEDES DEALER TOMORROW. I NOTICED THE RECALL DID NOT COVER MY VEHICLE AS IT WAS BUILT IN JULY OF 2010 WHICH IS A FEW MONTHS BEFORE THE 2011 E -CLASS EXTENDED RECALL. THE SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED ME THAT THE FUEL FILTER SENSOR WAS BAD, AND IT MAY BE COVERED UNDER THE MANUFACTURE'S FREE RECALL DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL FILTER SENSOR. THE SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS WITH CARS NEEDING REPAIR RECENTLY FOR FUEL LEAK RELATED MALFUNCTIONS. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE HAD A CAR WITH A SIMILAR PROBLEM AS MINE BEING WORKED ON THE SAME DAY I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR LATER CALLED ME AND STATED THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE FREE RECALL FOR THE FUEL FILTER SENSOR, AND THAT IT WOULD COST ME $1,100.00 TO REPAIR THE CAR. THE SERVICE ADVISOR ALSO STATED THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE FREE RECALL BECAUSE IT HAS A MEDAL GAS TANK INSTEAD OF A PLASTIC GAS TANK. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE WHETHER THE GAS TANK IS MEDAL OR PLASTIC IF THE PART IS DEFECTIVE? I CHECKED OUT THIS WEBSITE AND FOUND THAT SEVERAL COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR THE SAME MALFUNCTION WITH THE FUEL FILTER SENSOR CAUSING GAS TO LEAK. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER OF MERCEDES-BENZ FOR THE PAST 12 YEARS (I'VE OWNED TWO MERCEDES-BENZ THUS FAR). THIS IS QUITE DANGEROUS AND FURTHER, CAN PROBABLY CAUSE RAPID DETERIORATION OF THE VEHICLE. THE ISSUE WAS FIRST PRESENTED IN JANUARY 2017 TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP IN RENO, NV WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, BUT CHARGED ~$140 FOR THE ANALYSIS. THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECORD WITH MB OF SUCH AN ISSUE. THEY ALSO STATED THAT IF THE ISSUE WAS LATER FOUND AND REPAIRED, THE DEALERSHIP WOULD CREDIT THE EVALUATION COSTS. DURING A TRIP TO SALT LAKE CITY THIS WEEK THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES AND I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT THE SLC MERCEDES DEALERSHIP (KEN GARFF). AT TODAY'S APPOINTMENT (3/29/17), THE ASSISTANT SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, THEY FOUND A DESCRIPTION OF THIS EXACT ISSUE IN THE MB DATABASE AND HAVE A RECOMMENDED FIX. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT FIX IS OVER $800 AND MERCEDES WILL NOT TAKE AND FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR REPAIRING THIS, AS IT IS NOT A "RECALL." THIS IS MOST UPSETTING, AS I VIEW THE SUDDEN STOPPING AND TRANSMISSION CHANGE WHILE MOVING AS A SAFETY AND A LONGEVITY ISSUE FOR THE VEHICLE. I AM PLANNING ON TAKING THE VEHICLE IN THIS WEEK TO MB SLC AND HAVING THE PRESCRIBED REPAIRS COMPLETED. I BOUGHT 2011 E550 BASE SEDAN LAST YEAR. IT HAD 25K MILES ON IT, AND 2 MONTHS LATER MY REAR SUSPENSION BEGAN LEAKING AND COST ME 2K IN REPAIRS. THE CAR WOULD LEAK OUT AIR FROM SUSPENSION OVER COUPLE HOURS. DEALER OR MY AFTERMARKET WARRANTY WOULDN'T COVER THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE IT'S NOT ON THE CONTRACT, BUT I'M NOT THE FIRST ONE WITH THIS ISSUE. I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN FORWARD MOVEMENT BUT I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. I COULD PRESS THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT THE RPM GAUGE NEEDLE MOVING. THERE WAS A REAL DANGER OF BEING HIT FROM BEHIND WHEN THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE I WAS SLOWING DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF THE CAR, AND RESTARTED IF AFTER ABOUT 6 SECONDS. ONCE I RESTARTED EVERYTHING RETURNED TO NORMAL. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR IN WHICH I LOSE THE ABILITY TO CONTROL SPEED BY PRESSING THE GAS TOO HARD. I AM TOLD IT IS SOME TYPE OF "SAFETY" FEATURE TO PROTECT THE TRANSMISSION ("LIMP HOME MODE") BUT I FIND IT TO BE VERY DANGEROUS. I WOULD RATHER DESTROY A TRANSMISSION AND HAVE THE CAR RESPOND TO MY COMMANDS THEN HAVE A COMPUTER DECIDE TO TURN OFF THE ACCELERATOR WHILE I AM DRIVING AND RISK A REAR END COLLISION. THEY EVALUATED THE CAR, CHANGED THE BATTERY, AND GAVE THE CAR BACK TO ME IN DECEMBER OF 2013 FOR A WEEKEND, CLAIMING IT WAS FIXED. THE CAR, HOWEVER, WAS CONTINUING TO LEAK FUMES INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN, SICKENING ME AGAIN. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THEM FOR FURTHER EVALUATION. THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE REPAIRED IT, BUT INSTEAD OF GETTING IN THE CAR, I SENT AN INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST TO TEST THE INSIDE AIR OF THE CAR, AFTER STARTING IT UP AND LETTING IT RUN FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES. THAT TEST FOUND UNUSUALLY LARGE CONCENTRATIONS OF ETHANOL, PROPENE, ISOPROPANOL, ACETONE, TOLUENE, HEXANE, AND CYCLOHEXANE -- CHEMICALS WHICH ALL APPEAR TO BE COMPONENTS OF GASOLINE. I WAS COMING OUT OF THE PARKING GARAGE. I PROCEEDED TO THE ENTRANCE TO GARAGE. THE STREET WAS NARROW FOR TWO CARS TO PASS BY. I APPLIED THE BRAKE BUT THE BRAKE DID NOT EVEN SLOW DOWN THE CAR. WITH THE BRAKE NOT WORKING AND THE CAR ACCELERATING VERY FAST, THE CAR BECAME OUT OF CONTROL. THE CAR WENT OVER THE CURB AND HIT A STREET ELECTRIC POLE. THE CURB AND THE POLE STOPPED THE CAR. THE MIDDLE SECTION OF THE FRONT OF MY CAR HIT THE POLE. THE IMPACT OF SUDDEN STOP DESTROYED THE FRONT MIDDLE PART OF THE CAR AND ALSO SHATTERED THE GLASS WINDSHIELD. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. SUBJECT: FORWARDED FROM FMCSA REGARDING CONSUMERS COMPLAINT ABOUT MERCEDES BENZ TIRES. *SMD 2011 MERCEDES BENZ E350. THE CONSUMER STATED HE PURCHASED THE SPORT PACKAGE VEHICLE, TWO YEARS AGO. HE HAD CHROME PUT ON THE WHEELS; THE ALLOY WHEELS WERE ORIGINAL. JUST CHROMED ON THE EXTERIOR. WHEN THE WEATHER CHANGED, THE TIRES DEFLATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, TO HAVE THE TIRES FILLED WITH NITROGEN. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER, THE CONSUMER RAN OVER A POT HOLE AND TWO WHEELS AND TWO TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED. I PROVIDED THE PHOTO'S MERCEDES AND THE DEALER AND THEY KEEP SAYING THEY CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG OR DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM OCCURS ONCE OR TWICE A MONTH. I SPENT SOME TIME TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW IT GETS IN THIS MODE AND FROM WHAT I DETERMINED IS WHEN THE CAR IS IN DRIVE IF YOU MOVE THE LEVER TO GO IN PARK YOU DON'T HEAR THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGE WHEN IT IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY BUT THE DIGITAL DISPLAY SAYS "PARK". THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT TRIGGER THE DISPLAY WHEN IT SHOULD IT SEEMS TO ME THE SHIFT LEVER DOES THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD TRIGGER THE DASH DISPLAY IF IT IS IN PARK OR DRIVE OR REVERSE TO ENSURE IT IS IN THE PROPER GEAR. MY WIFE HAD ENGINE RUNNING, GOT OUT OF CAR TO CHECK THE TRUNK AND THOUGHT SHE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. IT STARTED TO MOVE AND SHE WAS ABLE TO JUMP INSIDE AND HIT THE BRAKE. LATER THAT MORNING I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPOT AND THOUGHT I HIT THE PARK. I GOT OUT LEAVING THE ENGINE RUNNING WITH MY WIFE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT ON THE PHONE. WHEN FINISHED SHE SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS. SHE COULDN'T REACH OVER THE CONSOLE TO HIT THE BRAKE. SHE TRIED PUSHING THE PARK BUTTON AND NOTHING HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE (72 HOURS OLD) STOPPED WHEN IT HIT A CAR BEHIND IT IN ANOTHER PARKING SPACE. FORTUNATELY, NOBODY WAS BEHIND THE CAR OR SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I SPOKE WITH MERCEDES CORPORATE WHO SAID THE ELECTRONIC SHIFTER HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE 2006. THE SERVICE FOREMAN AT MY DEALER TOLD ME THERE IS NO WAY TO ADJUST THE COMPUTER SO THAT IF THE CAR ISN'T IN PARK AND THE KEY IS TURNED OFF THE TRANSMISSION WOULD AUTOMATICALLY SENSE NO ONE IN THE DRIVERS SEAT AND THE VEHICLE WOULD LOCK INTO PARK. HE EXPLAINED WITH THE KEY OFF HAD SHE OPENED THE DOOR THE PARK WOULD HAVE AUTOMATICALLY HAPPENED. IT SEEMS THERE IS A SIMPLE FIX. IF THE VEHICLE IS BELOW 5 MPH AND SOMEONE HAS THE ENGINE RUNNING BUT OPENS THE DOOR TO GET OUT IT STILL SHOULD GO INTO PARK. THIS IS A SIMPLE PROGRAM FIX I WOULD GUESS. THERE SHOULD ALSO BE A WARNING BELL OR VOICE COMMAND ALERTING THE DRIVER THAT THE VEHICLE ISN'T IN PARK. IT CAME TOO LATE FOR MY WIFE TO KNOW HAD SHE OPENED THE DOOR THE CAR WOULD HAVE LOCKED INTO PARK WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF. THERE SHOULD BE A WARNING POSTED TO ALL NEW OWNERS AND A DEMONSTRATION OF HOW TO BEST UTILIZE THE EMERGENCY SYSTEM. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS KILLED BUT MY WIFE BEING TWISTED HEART HER BACK.
