BECAUSE OF THE LOW QUALITY OF THE PLASTIC, WHICH WAS USED IN THE FUEL PUMP BODY ON MY GLK350, FORMED A CRACK ON BOTH BODIES OF THE FUEL TANKS. FUEL IS COMING OUT DIRECTLY UNDER THE REAR SEAT AND DRIPPING DOWN TO THE ROAD. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, AND COULD CAUSE A POSSIBILITY OF FIRE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 148,603.
DELAY AND NO START CONDITION WHEN TURNING THE IGNITION KEY

IT APPEARS TO LEAK THE MOST WHEN THE GAS IS FULL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LEAK WITH THE FUEL PUMP. THE CERTIFIED MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEIR FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 12V557000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). I CONTACTED PARK PLACE MERCEDES OF GRAPEVINE, TX, PHONE NUMBER 843-815-0300) WHO INFORMED ME MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. I HAVE TWO RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE AND MERCEDES HAS MADE NO EFFORT TO CONTACT ME REGARDING REPAIRS SINCE 2011. I HAVE TAKE MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE MUTLIPLE TIMES AND THE RECALLS HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED.
WHEN I FILL UP MY 2011 GLK 350 WITH GAS I HAVE A VERY STRONG RAW GAS SMELL FROM THE VEHICLE. IT IS SO BAD THAT I AM AFRAID IT WILL CAUSE A FIRE INSIDE MY GARAGE. IT GOES AWAY AS THE FUEL IS RUN OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I CHECK WITH MERCEDES AND WITH MY VIN # IT WAS NOT ON A RECALL LIST HOWEVER MANY OTHER GLK 350 WERE ON A RECALL LIST FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IT IS RECALL 12V557000. I FEEL MERCEDES SHOULD COVER ALL 2011 GLK 350 FOR THIS ISSUE AS IT IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE WITH RAW GAS LEAKING. IT WAS ALSO IN A BULLETIN SENT TO DEALERS ABOUT THIS ISSUE. NHTSA ID 10059568. IT IS A LEAKING FUEL FILTER FLANGE. IT IS ALSO A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM!! THE FIX FOR IT IS REPLACE THE FUEL FILTER FLANGE AND PLASTIC PUMP ALSO NORMALLY AT A COST OF $1200.00 AT THE DEALER. MERCEDES NEEDS TO RECALL ALL 2011-2012 GLK 350 FOR THIS ISSUE IN MY OPINION.

I HAVE HEARD NOTHING FROM THEM ABOUT THE DRIVER AIRBAG RECALL IN 18 MONTHS EVEN THOUGH THEY PROMISE TO FIX IT BY SEPTEMBER 2018. I OFTEN DRIVE TO FLORIDA STAYING THERE FOR A WEEK OR SO. I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2011 GLKS ALREADY IN PLACE FOR THIS ISSUE, BUT OUR GLK WAS BUILT A FEW MONTHS PRIOR TO THOSE REPORTED AS AFFECTED. THE DECEMBER 2017 LETTER STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WAS IN PRIORITY GROUP 4. A LETTER IN JANUARY 2018 STATED THE MY VEHICLE WAS IN GROUP 5. I BELIEVE THAT THE RECALL OF THE TAKATA AIRBAGS IN MY VEHICLE IS NOT BEING HANDLED PROPERLY AND THAT MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN CATEGORIZED PROPERLY. ACCORDING TO THE NHTSA AND MBUSA THIS CAR HAS TWO RECALLS ON IT DUE TO AIRBAGS POTENTIALLY KILLING OCUPANTS IN THE VEHICLE. I KNEW ABOUT THE FIRST RECALL BUT NOT ABOUT THE SECOND RECALL ON THE VEHICLE UNTIL I GOT A LETTER FROM MBUSA TWO WEEKS AGO ADDRESSING THE ISSUE. WHEN I LOOK ON NHTSA THE RECALL DATES BACK TO MAY OF 2016 BUT MBUSA HAS NOTIFIED ME TWO WEEKS AGO. READING ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE THE MANUFACTURE HAS 60 DAYS TO PRODUCE A SOLUTION ON A RECALL BUT IT HAS BEEN WELL PAST THE 6 MONTHS FOR ONE RECALL, WELL PAST ONE YEAR FOR THE RECALL. PLEASE HELP ME IN GETTING A SOLUTION FROM MBUSA TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE, MY LIFE COULD BE TAKEN AWAY AT ANY MINUTE.
I BOUGHT A CARE FROM MERCEDES BENZ IN 2015 IN POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA. ON MAY 2016, I HAD RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MERCEDES BENZ STATING THAT THERE IS A DEFECT THAT HAS BEEN DETECTED WITH DRIVER-SIDE SEAT AIRBAGS. IN AUGUST 2016, I HAD RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER STATING THAT THE PASSENGER 'SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR HOUSING IN MY VEHICLE MAY RUPTURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE INTERNAL PRESSURE. SINCE I HAVE RECEIVED THOSE LETTERS, I HAVE BEEN REALLY TERRIFIED TO THE IDEA THAT I AND MY KIDS ARE AT RISK IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN A DEADLY ACCIDENT IN 2012; I AM ALIVE TODAY BECAUSE THE AIR BAG WAS WORKING PROPERLY. SINCE I HAVE RECEIVED THAT NOTICE, I HAVE TO LIMIT MY DRIVING. I HAVE GOT TO THE POINT NOW THAT I AM SO SCARED THAT I AM AFRAID OF DRIVING ON ANY HIGHWAYS AND EXPRESSWAYS WITH THE CAR. I HAVE A TREMENDOUS LEVEL OF ANXIETY AND I AM TERRIFIED BY THE IDEA THAT I AM DRIVING A CAR WITH AN AIR BAG DEFECT. I CALLED MERCEDES TWICE TO SEEK FOR OPTIONS THAT WOULD IF NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE BUT AT THE MINIMUM ALLEVIATE MY HARDSHIP, BUT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME. THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON RESOLVING THE ISSUE; I JUST HAVE TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR. I HAVE OFFERED THEM TO; 1-GIVE ME A LOANER WHILE THEY ARE WORKING ON SOLVING THE ISSUE, AND I WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE MY REGULAR MONTHLY PAYMENTS. 2-GIVE ME A REASONABLE DISCOUNT AMOUNT ON ANOTHER VEHICLE, SO I CAN TRADE MY VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER ONE WITHOUT THAT SAFETY ISSUE. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO HELP ME IN ANY SHAPE OF FORMS. I AM DEFENSELESS AND HOPELESS. I KNOW HOW POWERFUL COMPANIES LIKE MERCEDES BENZ ARE, THAT THE REASON I AM TURNING TO YOU IN ORDER TO COME TO MY RESCUE. I HAVE TO DRIVE TO WORK AND TAKE MY KIDS TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY. "TAKATA RECALL" MBUSA SAYS THAT THEY ARE WAITING FOR NHTSA TO TELL THEM WHEN THE NEW AIRBAGS WILL BE AVAILABLE IN MY AREA (CALIFORNIA). THEY BLAME THE NHTSA FOR THE DELAY---READ THE FAQ ON THEIR WEBSITE. I AM COMPLAINING THAT WHY THE NHTSA IS NOT TAKING THIS MATTER SERIOUS ENOUGH AND WHY THEY DO NOT TELL MBUSA TO CHANGE MY AIRBAGS. WHY TELLING US THIS SAFETY MATTER WHEN NHTSA IS NOT FAST ENOUGH TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM LITERALLY DRIVING A TIME BOMB NOT KNOWING WHEN IT WILL EXPLODE. MBUSA IS NOT WILLING TO PROVIDE ME WITH A LOANER WHILE YOU ARE MAKING A DECISION. THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULES THING I HAVE EVER HEARD OF, THAT A SAFETY RECALL IS BEEN CALLED BUT NHTSA IS NOT TAKING IT SERIOUS ENOUGH. AS A TAX PAYER I DEMAND AN ANSWER AND A REPLACEMENT VERY SOON.

SPOKE WITH DEALERSHIP, THEY SAY THAT THEY CAN'T GUARANTEE THAT BAGS WONT GO OFF BY THEMSELVES AND THAT THEY CANT DO ANYTHING UNTIL THEY RECEIVE PARTS. I AM NOW HEARING THAT BAGS CAN EXPLODE UNEXPECTEDLY THROWING METAL FRAGMENTS INTO YOUR FACE AND HEAD AND CAUSE DEATH. MERCEDES NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ASAP, THIS IS A FAMILY VEHICLE.

"TAKATA RECALL" MERCEDES-BENZ USA HAS NOTIFIED ME THAT THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE DRIVER-SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR AND IT MAY RUPTURE DUE TO EXCESSIVE PRESSURE. THEY HAVE NOT PROVIDED A DATE FOR ME TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR REPAIR THEREFORE WE ARE CURRENTLY DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE THAT MAY CAUSE BODIILY INJURY OR DEATH TO ME OR OTHER MEMBERS OF OUR FAMILY. I WANT THE NHTSA TO CONTACT THE MERCEDES-BENZ USA AND INSIST THAT THEY PROVIDE US WITH A SAFE VEHICLE UNTIL THEY CORRECT THE PROBLEM WITH OUR CAR.
WE HAVE A MERCEDES BENZ GLK350 2011. WHILE NEITHER OF ITS BRAKE WARNING (WHICH INCLUDES WARNING FOR LOW BRAKE FLUID LEVEL) AND "CHECK BRAKE PAD WEAR" DISPLAY MESSAGES IS ON, AND THERE IS NO ABNORMAL NOISE FROM THE BRAKES, ITS BRAKES CAN STILL FAIL FOR A SHORT TIME, WHILE WORK MOST OF THE TIME. IN TWO CASES, WHILE I WAS WAITING AT A RED LIGHT, THE BRAKE FAILED AND THE CAR MOVED FORWARD, THEN STOPPED BEFORE IT HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF IT. AT FIRST I THOUGHT MAYBE I DIDN'T PRESSURE THE BRAKE PEDAL HARD ENOUGH. AFTER AN ACCIDENT HAPPENED, I AM SURE IT WAS THE BRAKE'S PROBLEM. IN ONE CASE, WHILE I WAS BACKING THE CAR DOWN THE NOT-TOO-DEEP DRIVEWAY IN MY HOME IN A SUNNY, DRY DAY, THE CAR KEPT MOVING EVEN WHEN I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS PRETTY SURE I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAUSE I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE TRANSMISSION FROM "R" TO "P" POSITION. EVEN WHEN THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN THE "P" POSITION AND I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL HARD, THE CAR STILL MOVED DOWN THE DRIVEWAY JUST AS IF THERE WERE NO BRAKES. I SHOULD EMPHASIZED I DROVE OVER ONE HUNDRED OF TIMES ON THE SAME DRIVEWAY, AND WHEN THE BRAKE WORKED, I COULD ALWAYS STOP THE CAR ON THE DRIVEWAY! TO SUMMARIZE, MY MERCEDES BENZ GLK350 2011'S BRAKES CAN FAIL TO WORK EVEN WHEN THERE IS NO WARNING MESSAGE AND NO WARNING NOISE.

TRANSMISSION JERKING PROBLEM I'VE HAD MY 2011 GLK350 AND JUST NOTICED THAT THE CAR JERKS NOTICEABLY ROUGHLY AND MADE A LOUDSY NOISE WHEN IN DRIVE MODE. IT HAPPENS BOTH AT LOW AND HIGH RPMS.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, AND I HEARD A VERY LOUD BOOM FROM MY VEHICLE, FOLLOWED BY CRACKLING SOUND. MY SUNROOF SHATTERED AS WELL AS THE FIXED PIECE BETWEEN MY WINDSHIELD AND MOVING PANE OF SUNROOF. THE FOLLOWING DAY, I DROVE THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD AN OBJECT STRUCK THE VEHICLE AND CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST PANE OF GLASS HAD A 1 IN DIAMETER HOLE WITH A STARBURST PATTERN AND THE SECOND PANE HAD VERY LITTLE VISIBLE DAMAGE TO IT OTHER THAN THE HUNDREDS OF CRACKS IN IT. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT WHY THE FIRST PANE OF GLASS THAT IS ANGLED OUTWARD TO THE ROAD IS NOT MADE OF SAFETY GLASS OR METAL AND WAS CONSTRUCTED OF TEMPERED GLASS. I WAS LUCKY THAT I HAD MY BLIND CLOSED AND THAT THE GLASS DID NOT SEPARATE FROM THE VEHICLE AND STRIKE ANY OF THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME. AS I TOLD THE GENTLEMEN AT THE DEALERSHIP, IF ROAD DEBRIS HITS MY VEHICLE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE A THIRD OF MY ROOF. ROCKS HAVE HIT MY WINDSHIELD AND CHIPPED IT, BUT FOR A ROCK TO HIT MY VEHICLE AND CAUSE SUCH EXTENSIVE DAMAGE IS POOR DESIGN OR QUALITY OF MANUFACTURING. *TR
PARKED ON A 45 DEGREE SLOPE. PLACED THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL WITH THE RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. SET THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DOWN AS FAR AS THE PEDAL WOULD TRAVEL. RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FULLY ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ROLL DOWN THE INCLINE. LOCAL MECHANIC CONFIRMED THE BRAKE SYSTEM TO APPEAR FINE AS FAR AS THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTOR (PADS AT 40%). TAKING THIS TO THE LOCAL MB DEALER TO REVIEW. I HAVE VIDEO IF NEEDED. *TR
MY CAR SHUT DOWN, WITHOUT ANY WARNING, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD ON APRIL 19TH, 2013. AT THE TIME OF SHUTDOWN, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD LIT UP (INCLUDING THE BRAKE LIGHT). I TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER ON THE FOLLOWING MONDAY HAVING BEEN TOLD BY AN ADVISOR THAT THEY COULD NOT WORK ON A MAJOR ISSUE AS SUCH ON THE WEEKEND. SINCE THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR REPLICATE THE INCIDENT, THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY IT HAPPENED; THEREFORE, THEY COULD NOT FIX ANYTHING. THEY ALSO STRONGLY BELIEVED THAT THE CAR IS IN PERFECT CONDITION, AND IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. IN ADDITION, THEY HIGHLY RECOMMEND ME TO TAKE THE CAR IN WHEN I RUN INTO A SIMILAR SITUATION IN THE FUTURE. I WAS URGED TO BRING MY LOANER BACK. OR, THEY WOULD "START TO CHARGE" ME. I WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE MB HEADQUARTERS IN NJ. THE GENTLEMAN WHO WAS THE CASE MANAGER TOLD ME THE SAME. THE APRIL 19 INCIDENT IS NOT AN ISOLATED OCCURRENCE . THE SAME INCIDENT HAPPENED TO ME ON 2/28/12 WHEN I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE. THE CAR AT THE TIME WAS LESS THAN 6 MONTHS OLD, WITH ABOUT 3000 MILES. WORKING ON THE ADVICE OF A SERVICE ADVISOR FROM THE DEALER ("IT WAS A FLUKE; IT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN), I DID NOT TAKE THE CAR IN.
