Problem with EVAP system. Many different codes are showing which means paying an extreme amount of money to diagnose problem and repair. Could be solenoid issue with the turbo part. CANNOT GET MY CAR SMOGGED because of this. The need service light does not go off. I am going to have to spend thousands at the dealer. This should be a recall issue.

GAS PEDAL WILL HIT FLOOR BUT THERE WILL BE NO ACCELERATION. SEEMS LIKE TURNING OFF THE CAR FOR 20 MINUTES OR MORE WILL REBOOT IT, BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT TIME PERIOD. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY ON HIGHWAYS, NOT ON SMALLER ROADS AS STATED PREVIOUSLY YOU MUST BE DRIVING FOR AT LEAST 40 MINUTES OR MORE GOING AT LEAST 60 MPH OR HIGHER. WENT TO DEALERSHIP AND SAID IT WAS A BAD DRIVE SHIFT BUT UNKNOWN REASON AS TO WHAT CAUSED IT. NEVER HAD PROBLEMS BEFORE THIS.

I HAD ALL MY FILTERS REPLACED THREE TIMES AND ATTEMPTED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO ALTERNATE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS DUE TO PERSISTENT SMELL OF GAS BUT WAS TOLD SINCE THEY'RE ARE NO OPEN CAMPAIGNS WITH MY VIN. I TOOK MY VEHICLE BACK TO ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP AND HAVE NOW BEEN TOLD IT IS INDEED LEAKING FUEL AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THE RECALL BUT THEY ARE UNABLE TO COVER THE COSTS OF THE REPAIR DUE TO IT ALREADY BEEN PREVIOUSLY WORKED ON. VEHICLE LEAKS FUEL PROFUSELY, OMITS BLACK FUMES THROUGH EXHAUST AND HAS ISSUES ACCELERATING. AVERAGE FUEL USAGE IS 60 MILES PERFULL TANK OF GAS.

THEN THE CAR STOPS WHILE I'M DRIVING. I HAD A LOCAL MECHANIC CHECK HE SAID IT WAS MY TIMING CHAIN IN MY ENGINE I FOUND AN ARTICLE ON CARS.COM THAT SAID THE REPAIR IS COVERED UNDER RECALL. I'M STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON MY VEHICLE AND I HAVE NO WARRANTY THE REPAIR IS EXPENSIVE ABOUT 2,000 TO FIX SO I AM WITHOUT A CAR.

WHEN MY TIMING CHAIN BROKE, I WAS TOLD BY HENDERSON NISSAN IN NEVADA THAT THE VALVES WERE DAMAGED BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTIVE TIMING CHAIN. A REP FROM NISSAN'S CORPORATE OFFICE TOLD ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER DOES NOT FALL INTO THE RECALL CATEGORY FOR THE DEFECTIVE TIMING CHAIN SO THEY DID NOT WANT TO PAY FOR THE $9,000 FOR A NEW ENGINE. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN CALIFORNIA IN REGARDS TO THE TIMING CHAIN.

FUEL PRESSUE SENSOR FAILED AFTER TORQUED DOWN RECALL WAS COMPLETED BY DEALER. BOUGHT MY 2011 JUKE NEW FROM DEALER. CAR HAS BEEN PAID OFF SINCE 2016. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY RECALL INFORMATION REGARDING THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR UNTIL 2018. I WAS NOT EXPERIENCING ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. APON RECIEVING THE RECALL NOTICE IN MAY 2018, I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS RECALL. I PICKED UP MY JUKE AND BROUGHT IT HOME. SINCE I HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE, THIS ONE WAS NOT MY DAILY DRIVER. I WENT OUT ONCE EVERY FEW DAYS TO CRANK IT UP. I DID NOTICE THAT THERE WAS A FUEL SMELL WHEN I CRANKED THE CAR. THOUGHT MAYBE SINCE THEY TORQUED THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR FOR THE RECALL, MAYBE SOMEHOW FUEL HAD GOTTEN IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND WOULD SIMPLY BURN OFF. THIS CONTINUED EVERY TIME I STARTED THE CAR. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER. HAD TO TOW VEHICLE 30+ MILES BECAUSE OF POSSIBLE FIRE OR EXPLOSION FROM ANY IGNITION SOURCE THAT COULD OCCUR. I WAS CONCERNED WHEN THE FUEL SMELL DID NOT GO AWAY. SERVICE MANAGER CALLED AND SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PRESSURE SENDER AND THAT IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. I ASK FOR PART NUMBER WHICH CAME BACK TO FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR. HE ADVISED ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OVER $750 DOLLARS FOR PARTS AND LABOR. SO I AUTHORIZED HIM TO ORDER THE PART BECAUSE THEY DONT KEEP RECALL PARTS ON HAND. I NEEDED TO CONTACT NISSAN. MY QUESTION IS IF THERE IS OR HAS BEEN 3 SEPARATE RECALLS FOR THIS PART AND MY VEHICLE WAS FINE BEFORE THE 2018 RECALL REPAIR. WHY IS THE DEALER REQUIRING ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR? IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT RECALLS DONT HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE. IF A PART FAILS THAT IS A KNOWN RECALLED PART THROUGHOUT NISSAN VEHICLES, THEN WHY ISN'T IT BEING REPLACED FOR FREE DUE TO THE HAZARDOUS NATURE OF NOT REPLACING IT.

I BOUGHT MY 2011 NISSAN JUKE BRAND NEW. IT HAS JUST OVER 57,000 MILES. WHILE DRIVING I WAS ABOUT TO ENTER THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE ENGINE JUST SHUT OFF. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON BEFORE THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT JUMPED TIMING AND A NEW ENGINE WAS NEEDED. I'VE KEPT UP WITH ALL THE MAINTENANCE AND HAVE ALL MY RECEIPTS. I HAD THE TIMING CHAIN REPLACED DURING A SERVICE CAMPAIGN IN 2014. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND AFTER 3 DAYS I WAS INFORMED THEY WOULD COVER 70% OF THE REPAIRS. WHICH MEANS MY PORTION IS JUST OVER $3,300. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE COVERED 100% AS THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MANY OTHER EXPERIENCING THE SAME. I HATE TO THINK WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I HAD MADE IT ON TO THE HIGHWAY. NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND SHOULD DO MORE TO RECTIFY IT.

MANY 2011 NISSAN JUKES WERE PART OF A VIN SPECIFIC RECALL INVOLVING A MANUFACTURING DEFECT CAUSING THE THE TIMING CHAIN TO STRETCH. MY VEHICLE WAS NOT A PART OF THIS RECALL BUT I HAVE RECENTLY HAD THIS ISSUE WITH MY CAR, RENDERING IT UNUSABLE. NISSAN HAS BEEN CONTACTED BUT IS CLAIMING IT IS A WARRANTY ISSUE (THEY HAVE NOT BEEN WORKING WITH ME TO ESCALATE THIS ISSUE). I HAVE ALSO NOTIFIED MY ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE WHO RECOMMENDED I REACH OUT TO YOU. I HAD TWO MECHANICS LOOK AT IT BEFORE GOING TO NISSAN AND A NISSAN TECH CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS, IN FACT, THE ISSUE WITH MY CAR. I FOUND OUT WHEN MY CAR JUST STOPPED RUNNING WHILE IN IDLE, AND THEN IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN. MY MECHANIC FOUND AN OIL LEAK, AND A SECOND MECHANIC (MY FIRST WAS TOO BOOKED TO DIG TOO DEEP INTO THE ISSUE) FOUND THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE AND RECOMMENDED GOING STRAIGHT TO NISSAN. SINCE THE ISSUE OCCURRED THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN AND IS CURRENTLY AT NISSAN.

MY 2011 NISSAN JUKE HAS BEEN SITTING IN AUSTIN TX. WAITING TO BE TOWED FROM CLAY COOLEY NISSAN. THE MOTOR HAS BEEN RENDERED UNFIXABLE DUE TO SLUDGE FROM THE ENGINE. THE JUKE WAS RECALLED FOR A TIMING CHAIN REPLACEMENT ON DEC 16,2015 AT MILEAGE 96,133. IN THEIR REPORT IT STATES THAT DUE TO THE TIMING CHAIN HAVING BEEN STRETCHED AND RUBBED INTO THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE AND TIMING COVER;ALUMINUM SHAVINGS FROM THE BLOCK SOAKED IN OIL FROM THE LEAK THE CHAIN CREATED, IS THE REASON THE ENGINE WAS MALFUNCTIONING THIS TIME AROUND. IT WAS ONLY "PATCHED AND NOT FIXED" STATES THE MECHANIC FROM ED HICKS NISSAN. IN AUGUST OF 2013 I PURCHASED A 2011 NISSAN JUKE. 2 MONTHS LATER THE BATTERY DIED. I REPLACED IT. BETWEEN THAT TIME AND MARCH 2015 I HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY 2 ADDITION TIMES. IN MARCH OF 2015 AGAIN THE BATTERY DIES. I JUMPED STARTED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES IN A PERIOD OF 3 DAYS. ON THE 4TH DAY WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ACTED AS IF IT WOULD STALL ON ME WHILE DRIVING. THIS SCARED ME ENOUGH TO TAKE IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY RAN DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE CAR AND FOUND NOTHING. THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY (CORPORATE REIMBURSED ME FOR THE COST) NOW IN FEB 2016 THE NEW BATTERY THEY INSTALLED DIED AGAIN. I DID AS THEY ADVISED ME TO DO THE PREVIOUS TIME WHICH IS TO HAVE IT TOWED INTO THE DEALERSHIP INSTEAD OF JUMP STARTING IT AND DRIVING IT TO THEM. AGAIN THEY RAN DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND FOUND NOTHING. THEY HAVE AGAIN REPLACED THE BATTERY. THE DEALERSHIP ACTS AS IF THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. MY CONCERN IS THAT A FEW MONTHS FROM NOW THE CAR WILL AGAIN DRAIN THE BATTERY. WHAT ABOUT IF IT DROPS A CHARGE WHILE I AM DRIVING IT ON THE ROAD? I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ON LINE REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER 2011 JUKE MODELS BUT I DO NOT SEE IT MENTIONED ON THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY SAFETY ADMINISTRATION WEBSITE.

THERE WERE 2 RECALLS ON MY CAR AND I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEMS THE,FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR AND THE JUKE AIR INLET TUBE. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY , AND I JUST HAD A LARGER PROBLEM WITH MY POWER STIRRING, I WAS IN THE HIGH SPEED LANE TRAVELING 70 MILES AN HOUR AND MY POWER STIRRING LET GO. I CALLED NISSAN OF AMERICA TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY RE-CALLS ON MY CAR AND I WAS TOLD NO, MY CAR HAS BEEN TIED UP AT TASCA NISSAN IN DARTMOUTH, MA FOR MORE THAN 1 WEEK, I WAS TOLD THE PART WOULD BE IN FEB 22.. NISSAN OFFERED TO PAY FOR THE PART WHICH COST 1,908.29. BUT I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SHIPPING COST WHICH COST 120.00DOLLARS AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE LABOR COST WHICH IS 480.00 DOLLARS I AM FRUSTRATED AND ANGRY, KNOW ONE SEEMS TO CARE THAT I COULD OF GOT KILLED OR SERIOUSLY INJURED IN THIS CAR. NOW I FIND OUT THERE WERE 2 RE-CALLS ON THIS CAR AND I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED! I SERVICE MY CAR REGULARLY, I JUST SPENT OVER 800.00 DOLLARS FOR NEW TIRES, WIPER BLADES, OIL CHANGE REPLACEMENT OF A TIRE SENSOR AND I AM RENTING A CAR AT THE PRESENT.. I NOTICED IN MY RESEARCH THAT THE ROGUE IS BEING CALLED BACK FOR POWER STIRRING PROBLEMS, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? AS FAR AS THE POWER STIRRING REPAIR MY WARRANTY RAN OUT, I FEEL THIS WAS A DEFECT IN THE POWER STIRRING, BUT I AM EXPECTED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. I DO HAVE A CASE # IT IS 21635903 AND I SPOKE WITH A MAN NAMED JIM HIS # IS 615-725-7254. TASCA OF DARTMOUTH HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL, THEY EVEN TRIED TO GET THE COST TO ME LOWERED BUT IT FELL ON DEAF EARS., THEY ALSO TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT LET ME DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE IT WAS TO DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE, AT LEAST THEY CARED ABOUT MY SAFETY, THANK GOD. I AM A 63Y/O FEMALE WHO WORKS HARD FOR MY MONEY, BUT I GUESS I AM GOING TO HAVE TO EAT THIS BILL!.

EXTEND THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR RECALL.... I HAVE A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL IN CABIN. WHILE CAR IS [PARKED OR DRIVING] AND ENGINE IS RUNNING, THE AIR CONDITIONING AND/OR HEAT IS ON A EXTREMELY STRONG GASOLINE SMELL FILLS THE CABIN AND CAN SUFFOCATE YOU AND YOUR PASSENGERS. WORST WHEN AIR IS COMING IN FROM OUTSIDE AND NOT REUSING THE CABINS AIR. MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND ANY LEAKS AND TOLD ME ABOUT A RECALL ON JUKES. MY JUKE IS NOT APART OF THE RECALL AND IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR RECALL BECAUSE OF IMPROPER TIGHTENING. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON FORUMS ONLINE WITH PEOPLE NOT BEING ON THE RECALL THAT HAVE THIS PROBLEM.

TRAVELING IN 65 MPH AM HIGHWAY COMMUTER TRAFFIC, VEHICLE LOST POWER/SPEED. COULD NOT GO BEYOND 40 MPH ON HILLS INCLINES. CAR STALLED AT LIGHT. MECHANIC SAID TURBO BOOSTER FAILURE. SUBSEQUENTLY TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP SAID ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO MALFUNCTION OF TURBO BOOSTER BUT WILL NOT REPLACE TURBO WITHOUT A FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THEN, CLAIMED ENGINE DAMAGE DUE TO LACK OF OIL, THOUGH OIL WAS REPLACED 5 DAYS PRIOR. ACCORDING TO NISSAN N.A. THIS PARTICULAR VIN HAS HAD 5 RECALLS IN 1.5 YEARS SINCE ITS MANUFACTURE. THESE INCLUDE ENGINE AIR INLET TUBE PERFORMED IN 02/09/2012 WHICH LEADS TO MALFUNCTION OF TURBO BOOSTER. "NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 NISSAN JUKE VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM APRIL 9, 2010, THROUGH MAY 12, 2011. THE TURBOCHARGER BOOST SENSOR BRACKET MAY SEPARATE FROM THE AIR INLET TUBE DUE TO A DEFECTIVE WELD. CONSEQUENCE:IF THE BRACKET COMES OFF, THE VEHICLE COULD STALL WHILE THE ENGINE IS IDLING WITHOUT WARNING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH." ALSO REPLACED IN THIS VEHICLE WERE THE ECM REPROGRAMMING, FRONT DOOR LATCH, FUEL RAIL PRESSURE CENSOR AND THE TIMING CHANGE. ALL IN LESS THAT 1.5 YRS OF ITS MANUFACTURE. VEHICLE IS RENDERED INOPERABLE. OWNER WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION.

WE TOOK IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP THEY TOLD US ITS A TURBO THAT WENT BAD AND THERE IS A RECALL ON IT. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY REFUSED TO WORK ON IT I TOLD THEM THERE IS A RECALL FOR NISSAN JUKE 2011. THE DEALER TOLD US YES BUT NOT OUR VIN NUMBER WHEN HE ENTERED INTO THE SYSTEM. WHAT CONCERNS ME IS THAT SHE COMPLETELY LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AND YES THATS A VERY SERIOUS CONCERN. I WOULD APPRECIATE IF YOU LOOK INTO THIS AND HAVE DEALER FIX ALL NISSAN 2011 JUKE. THEY DONT MENTION WHAT VIN # ARE HAVING ISSUE UNTIL YOU GO TO THE DEALER AND FIND OUT YOU HAVE TO PAY $4000.00 TO FIX. I HELPED MY DAUGHTER PURCHASE A 2011 NISSAN JUKE IN NOVEMBER 2015. IN APRIL 2015, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN THE VEHICLE. SHE IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT IN TO A WAL-MART SERVICE CENTER. THE WM TECHNICIAN TOLD HER THAT THERE WERE METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL PAN AND THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HE SUGGESTED THAT SHE TAKE THE VEHICLE ON TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHICH SHE DID THE NEXT DAY. THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TOLD HER THAT 'WAL-MART DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT,' AND THAT THERE WERE NO METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL PAN. THEY DID, HOWEVER, REPLACE THE TIMING CHAIN SINCE THERE WAS ABOUT TO BE A RECALL, AND THEY ALSO PERFORMED AN OIL CHANGE. LAST WEEK (OCTOBER 2015), THE CAR WENT DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. MY DAUGHTER TOOK IT THE NEXT DAY TO THE SAME NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THE SAME SERVICE TECHNICIAN AS THE ONE IN APRIL TOLD HER THAT THERE WERE METAL SHAVINGS IN THE OIL PAN, THERE WAS NO OIL IN THE VEHICLE, AND THAT DUE TO HER NEGLIGENCE THE ENGINE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $10,000. WHEN SHE POINTED OUT THAT SHE TOLD THEM IN APRIL ABOUT THE METAL SHAVINGS, THE SERVICE TECH TOLD HER HE HAD NO RECOLLECTION OF THAT. SHE AND I BOTH TALKED WITH A NISSAN REGIONAL SPECIALIST. WE WERE TOLD, 'SORRY, YOUR POWERTRAIN WARRANTY RAN OUT AT 60,000 MILES.' AS I LOOKED OVER HER RECEIPT FROM APRIL, I NOTICED THERE WERE ITEMS LISTED THAT WOULD BE USED TO STOP AN OIL LEAK (THIS WAS CONFIRMED BY A CERTIFIED MECHANIC), YET NO SUCH PROBLEM WAS MENTIONED TO HER OR CHECKED OFF ON THE INSPECTION SHEET THEY GAVE HER. WHEN I ASKED THE REGIONAL SPECIALIST TO SPEAK TO THE FACT THAT THERE HAD OBVIOUSLY BEEN AN ATTEMPT TO PATCH AN OIL LEAK, HE REPLIED, 'I CAN'T SPEAK TO THAT. I'M NOT A MECHANIC.' NISSAN HAS BEEN ABSOLUTELY NO HELP.

WHILE DRIVING OVER 100 MILES FROM HOME AT 60MPH, ON A MAJOR INTERSTATE, BEHIND A TRACTOR TRAILER, I WAITED FOR NO TRAFFIC IN THE LEFT LANE SO THAT I COULD PASS. I PUT MY BLINKER ON, GOT INTO THE LEFT LANE, GOT NEXT TO THE TRACTOR TRAILER AND THE CAR WENT FROM 65 TO TEN MPH AND WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER. OBVIOUSLY MY CAR DROPPED BACK AND I VERY SLOWLY GOT BACK BEHIND THE TRACTOR TRAILER AND OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE TRANSMISSION BLEW FROM OVERHEATING! I WAS ABLE TO GET A GARAGE TO LOOK AT IT AND DIAGNOSE IT AND IT WAS RECONFIRMED WHEN BROUGHT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. IT CAME WITH A 60,000 MILE WARRANTY, I PAID EXTRA TO GET A 72000 MILE WARRANTY , AND IT WENT AT 87000. MY RESEARCH SHOWED MANY NISSAN JUKE OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AFTER DRIVING THEIR JUKE OVER A HUNDRED MILE STRETCH OR MORE. I PAID ALMOST 35000. FOR THIS CAR AND BOUGHT IT WITH TWELVE MILES ON IT. ARE THEY MEANT TO GO LESS THAN 4 YEARS?! I AM NOT THAT RICH! I REPORTED IT TO NISSAN, THEY CALLED ME TODAY AND SAID THEY WERE SORRY THAT THEY COULDN'T HELP ME BUT THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I COULD HAVE GOTTEN KILLED ON THAT HIGHWAY! NOW I AM OUT A CAR I BOUGHT IN OCTOBER OF 2011 AND IT DIED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2015 (LESS THAN 4 YEARS!) ...UNLESS I PAY $4000. FOR A TRANSMISSION WITH 10,000 MILES ON IT BECAUSE NISSAN SAYS I CANT EVEN GET A NEW TRANSMISSION FOR IT!

WHEN STARTING MY 2011 NISSAN JUKE IN MID-JULY 2015 (IT WAS LESS THAN 60,000 MILES AT THE TIME), A LOUD SUCTION SOUND WAS HEARD. THEN, AT 35 MPH MOMENTS LATER, MORE NOISES CAME FROM THE ENGINE AND ABOUT 50% OF ENGINE POWER WAS LOST BUT RETURNED. SUBSEQUENTLY, THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO CORRECT ITSELF AND I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS A BAD BATCH OF GASOLINE. BUT BECAUSE IT ACTED UP FROM TIME TO TIME I CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALER TO ASK IF THERE WAS ANOTHER RECALL ON MY JUKE (RECALL P4213 TIMING CHAIN WAS REPAIRED 10/15/2014). THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED THE JUKE SAID THERE WERE NO MORE ENGINE RECALLS. BUT AS THE PROBLEM WORSENED I TOOK THE JUKE TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC ON 8/3/2015 WITH 59,850 MILES HIS COMPUTER ANALYSIS SHOWED CODE P2263 AND HE RECOMMENDED THAT I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO REPAIR THE TURBO CHARGER. THE NISSAN DEALER TESTED THE CAR AND INFORMED ME THAT THE PROBLEM WAS, IN FACT, THE TURBO CHARGER AND IT REQUIRED REPLACEMENT. HOWEVER, THE WARRANTY WAS 5 YEARS/60,000 MILES AND IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED SINCE IT WAS THEN ONLY 4 YEARS OLD BUT OVER BY ABOUT 5000 MILES (ALTHOUGH IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY MILES WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED). THUS, I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WHO DECIDED THAT NISSAN WOULD PAY TO REPLACE THE TURBO CHARGER AND RELATED PARTS BUT I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TYPICAL $240 IN LABOR COSTS. I AGREED TO THIS ARRANGEMENT. AT THE TIME OF THIS SUBMISSION (8/15/2015), MY JUKE IS STILL AT THE DEALER WHERE IT HAS BEEN FOR WELL OVER A WEEK. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT ALTHOUGH THE NEW TURBO CHARGER HAS BEEN INSTALLED, THE OIL LINE THAT FEEDS THE TURBO CHARGER IS CLOGGED AND NEEDS REPLACED. NOTE: I DISCOVERED THROUGH ONLINE RESEARCH THAT, IN FACT, A RECALL DOES EXIST ON THIS TURBO CHARGER AS FOLLOWS: RECALL NUMBER: 11V583000 RECALL DATE: 12/08/2011

I PURCHASED A USED 2011 NISSAN JUKE FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. AT FIRST I HAD TROUBLE FILLING UP THE TANK. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER I PURCHASED IT FROM AND THEY FOUND A PLASTIC PIECE FROM A PLASTIC GAS CAN STUCK IN THE TANK. FROM THE MOMENT I PURCHASED THE CAR, WHENEVER I FILL IT WITH GAS, MY CAR, CLOTHES, GARAGE AND FIRST LEVEL OF MY HOME SMELLS LIKE GAS. I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE IN 2012. I BELIEVE THAT WHOMEVER SERVICED THE CAR FOR THE 2012 RECALL DID NOT DO IT PROPERLY. FOR THE PAST WEEK AND A HALF I'VE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO EITHER DISCONNECT ME, GIVE ME INCORRECT INFORMATION OR DON'T RETURN MY PHONE CALLS WHEN PROMISED. I WAS TOLD A SUPERVISOR WOULD GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH ME IN FOUR TO EIGHT HOURS. THEY CALLED ME BACK THREE DAYS LATER. I FEEL LIKE MY CAR IS A DEATH TRAP. I'M AFRAID TO PARK IT IN MY GARAGE FOR FEAR THAT WHEN I USE MY ELECTRIC GARAGE DOOR OPENER, THEY'RE WILL BE A SPARK AND MY ENTIRE CONDO WILL EXPLODE. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT FOR FEAR SOMEONE WILL TOSS A LIT CIGARETTE AND THE CAR WILL CATCH FIRE WITH ME IN IT. I'VE HAD MORE MIGRAINES SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THE CAR THAN I'VE HAD IN 30 YEARS. WHEN I MENTIONED THE PROBLEM TO THE NISSAN DEALER WHOM I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM, I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW GAS TANK COVER. I'VE BOUGHT THREE OF THEM WITH NO IMPROVEMENT.

STARTING APPROXIMATELY 12/1/2014, WE BEGAN TO NOTICE A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE IN THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WITHIN MINUTES OF STARTING THE VEHICLE. THE SMELL WOULD DIMINISH AS THE CAR WARMED UP, BUT WOULD NOT GO AWAY COMPLETELY. WE CONTACTED THE LOCAL DEALER SERVICE DEPT., AND WERE TOLD THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE. UPON TAKING THE CAR IN TO BE SERVICED, THEY CONFIRMED THE FUEL LEAK WAS FROM THE FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR, WHICH IS THE PRECISE PROBLEM WHICH PROMPTED THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. ON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, THEY DETERMINED THE RECALL SERVICE (TECHNICAL BULLETIN REFERENCE NTB12-021B) HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED ON THIS VIN, AND NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER THE REPAIR AT THIS POINT. NISSAN'S RECALL CAMPAIGN ID# IS R1201, NHTSA#12V-069. IT APPEARS, AT LEAST IN THIS CASE, THE RECALL SERVICE WAS INEFFECTIVE IN CORRECTING OR PREVENTING THE FUEL LEAK ISSUE, MAKING IT POSSIBLE THAT ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES MAY STILL BE PRONE TO THIS FUEL LEAK PROBLEM . NISSAN CUSTOMER RELATIONS FURTHER STATED THEY DID NOT CONSIDER AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FUEL LEAK TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I STRONGLY BELIEVE AN "INCREASED RISK OF A FIRE" IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND NISSAN SHOULD STILL BE LIABLE TO CORRECT AN INHERENT SAFETY VULNERABILITY IN THEIR VEHICLES. *TR

I HAVE A 2011 NISSAN JUKE ( PURCHASED BRAND NEW) WHEN DRIVING HOME FROM WORK THE CAR STARTED TO IDLE WEIRD AND THEN JUST DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THANK GOD I WASN'T HIT BY ANYONE OR IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. TOWED IT A TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE THERE TOLD ME THE TIMING CHAIN BELT BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME THE NEXT MORNING STATING THAT NISSAN WAS AWARE OF THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE AND THAT THEY WERE ISSUING A RECALL FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM, SO THERE WOULD BE NO COST TO ME. AFTER A WEEK OF MY CAR BEING AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP, THEY CALLED AND SAID THE CAR WAS REPAIRED AND GOOD TO GO! I PICKED THE CAR UP AND ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE HOME BUT NEVER MADE IT OUT OF THE PARKING LOT! JUKE DID THE SAME EXACT THING IT DID WHEN I ORIGINALLY HAD IT TOWED IN! THE JUKE WENT BACK INTO THE SHOP THAT NIGHT. NEXT MORNING THE SERVICE MANAGER FROM NISSAN CALLS TO TELL ME THAT DUE TO THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE METAL SHAVING HAVE NOW GOTTEN INTO MY ENGINE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE POINT THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE HAS TO BE REPLACED! SINCE IT WAS DUE TO THE RECALL, IT WILL BE OF NO COST TO ME...HOWEVER NISSAN CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THE NEW ENGINE WON'T HAVE THE SAME ISSUES?!!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? AND THIS IS NOT THE FIRST ISSUE WITH THIS JUKE! FIRST MONTH I HAD IT THE ENTIRE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HAD TO BE REPLACED! I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE ALTERNATOR AFTER IT FAILED.....PLUS NUMEROUS BATTERY ISSUES, AND THE CAR IS LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD! AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AGAINST NISSAN RIGHT NOW AS THEY WERE AWARE OF THESE ISSUES AND DID NOTHING ABOUT IT! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? OR LEGAL? COME ON, NISSAN! GET IT TOGETHER. SAFETY SHOULD BE YOUR #1 PRIORITY....BUT APPARENTLY CONCEALING POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING RECALLS IS MORE IMPORTANT. TO SAY THE LEAST, I WILL NEVER, EVER, BUY ANOTHER NISSAN, AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU OR ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT. *TR

Summary

MY 2011 NISSAN JUKE HAS 28,000 MILES ON IT. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO I START TO HEAR THIS RATTLE NOISE COMING FROM MY ENGINE. I MAKE AN APPT TO FIND OUT ABOUT THIS NOISE AND FOR MY STATE INSPECTION TO BE DONE. WELL, A FEW DAYS BEFORE MY APPT MY JUKE COMPLETELY STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING AROUND 40-45MPH ON A BUSY TWO LANE ROAD. I ALMOST GOT REAR-ENDED BUT LUCKILY THEY STOPPED JUST IN TIME. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY WARNING LIGHTS COME ON AT ALL. IT JUST STOPPED! I GET IT TOWED TO MY DEALERSHIP AND FIND OUT I NEED A BRAND NEW ENGINE ($9,050) BECAUSE MY TIMING CHAIN BROKE AND RIPPED MY ENGINE APART. I GO ONLINE AND FIND OUT THAT NISSAN HAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THEM RIGHT NOW FOR TIMING CHAIN ISSUES, BUT THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE A RECALL. EVEN MORE RESEARCH IS DONE AND I'M BEYOND MAD AT THIS POINT. NOW NISSAN TELLS ME THAT THEY WON'T COVER IT WITH MY 5YR/60,000 MILE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY BECAUSE I CAN'T PRODUCE 8-9 SERVICE RECORDS OF OIL CHANGES AND "SLUDGE" IS WHAT BROKE MY ENGINE AT 28,000. JUST DOING SOME MATH, FOR ME TO EVEN HAVE 8-9 SERVICE RECORDS MEANS I WOULD HAVE NEEDED TO CHANGE MY OIL (AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAID) ABOUT EVERY 3 MONTHS!!!! SO NOW I'M STUCK WITH A 2011 PIECE OF JUNK AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY OVER $9,000 EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF THE TIMING CHAIN ISSUE AND IT WAS THE FAULTY TIMING CHAIN THAT BROKE AND RIPPED APART MY ENGINE. BUT BECAUSE I CAN'T PROVIDE 8-9 SERVICE RECORDS (WHICH IS CRAZY) THEY GET OFF SCOTT-FREE! I'VE BEEN RIPPED OFF COMPLETELY AND SOLD A LEMON. THIS IS SO UNFAIR!!!! I WILL BE JOINING THAT CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT! *TR

Summary

MY JUKE BEGAN TO HAVE A TICKING/CLICKING SOUND IN THE MOTOR WHICH SOUNDED WORSE WITH ACCELERATION. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY FIRST TOLD ME IT WAS THE EXHAUST, THEN LATER TOLD ME IT IS TIMING CHAIN AND DAMAGE TO MOTOR DONE WHICH WOULD REQUIRE REPLACEMENT MOTOR BUT APPROVAL FROM A DISTRICT MANAGER WAS NEEDED PRIOR TO PROCEEDING ON THE WARRANTY WORK. ALTHOUGH STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND ABLE TO SHOW RECEIPTS FOR SERVICE DATES, THEY TOLD ME THEY MAY VOID MY WARRANTY FOR NOT HAVING A NISSAN BRAND OIL FILTER ON THE JUKE. I CALLED TO CHECK ION MY ENGINE REPLACEMENT THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THEY WERE WAITING ON PARTS AND THAT THE TENSIONER BROKE OFF AND THE TIMING CHAIN WAS RUBBING THE MOTOR BUT THEY WILL REPLACE WORN PARTS INSTEAD OF ENTIRE MOTOR AND THAT THE RUBBING ON THE MOTOR WOULD NOT ALTER THE FUNCTIONING OF THE MOTOR. ONE WEEK LATER, STILL WAITING ON MY CAR AND PAYING FOR A DAILY RENTAL. THIS IS MY 8TH NISSAN OWNED. AND THE SECOND TO HAVE ENGINE PROBLEMS (2006 ALTIMA WITH BLOWN ENGINE AT 147,000 MILES). PURCHASED JUKE OCTOBER 2010 AND IT IS DRIVEN ONLY BY MYSELF AND AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 65MPH MOST DAYS. THERE IS AN OBVIOUS FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THESE TIMING CHAINS AND COMPONENTS WHICH HOLD IT ALL TOGETHER. STILL OWE 11,000 ON MY JUKE AND AM WORRIED ABOUT THE FUTURE RELIABILITY AND SAFETY FOR MY TRAVELS IN IT. *TT

I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP A WEEK LATER AND THEY SAID THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF A TIMING CHAIN FAILURE. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A STRANGE INCIDENT SINCE THERE WEREN'T MANY OTHER JUKES WITH THE MILEAGE I HAD ON MINE. I WAS BARELY 2 YEARS INTO MY CAR LOAN AND ALREADY HAD TO DISH OUT $7K FOR A NEW ENGINE. I OPTED OUT OF HAVING THE CAR REPAIRED SO LAST YEAR AND HAD TO BUY ANOTHER CAR FOR WORK. MY JUKE CAUGHT ON FIRE THIS MORNING! IT ONLY HAS 32,400 MILES ON IT AND I AM LEFT WITH NO CAR AND LITTLE INTEREST FROM NISSAN. I DID SMELL GAS BUT DID NOT THINK MUCH OF IT. MY SON IS ON DIALYSIS 3 DAYS A WEEK AND AT FIRST THE CORPORATION TOLD ME I WOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR A RENTAL CAR FOR THREE DAYS BUT BEFORE THE CALL CONCLUDED THEY CHANGED THEIR MIND TELLING ME IT WAS PENDING DECISION. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE 2011-2012 JUKE FUEL INJECTED ENGINE DUE TO FUEL MAY LEAK FROM THE PRESSURE SENSOR, INCREASING THE RISK OF A FIRE, THAT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF. NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011-2012 JUKE, INFINITI QX AND INFINITI M VEHICLES. THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSORS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN TIGHTENED TO THE CORRECT SPECIFICATION. AS A RESULT, THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR MAY LOOSEN DUE TO HEAT AND VIBRATION CAUSING FUEL TO LEAK. THEY TRIED TO TELL ME THAT MY CAR WAS ONE THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN FIXED....SO, THEN WHY AM I LEFT WALKING IN THE SUBZERO TEMPERATURES? *TR

I WAS DRIVING DOWN TRANSIT RD DEPEW NY 14043. I FELT MY TORQUE DROP AND THEN MY ENGINE SPUTTERED AND DIED. THE ROAD IS A TWO LANE ONE DIRECTION WITH NO SHOULDER. I BARLEY ABLE TO GET IT IN THE RIGHT LANE, WITH NO POWER STEERING, BEFORE IT ROLLED TO A STOP. I BELIEVE THE ONLY THING THAT SAVED ME FOR BEING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR WAS A POLICE OFFICER PUTTING HIS EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. I TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALER FOR SERVICE AND THEY SAID THE TIMING BELT BROKE AND BENT THE PISTON IN THE ENGINE. PLEASE ACT ON THIS BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED DUE TO THIS FAULTY TIMING BELT. *TR

I TOOK MY CAR IN TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR A RECALL ON A FUEL SENSOR AND GASKET(S) AND I HAD A RATTLING NOISE I ASKED THEM TO LOOK INTO WHILE THEY HAD THE CAR. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT $2100. THE CAR HAS LOST HALF OF ITS VALUE IN LESS THEN 2 YEARS OF OWNING IT AND I DIDN'T EVEN BUY IT BRAND NEW (HAD LESS THE 7,000 MILES ON IT). I HAVE GONE BACK AND FORTH WITH A MANAGER AT NISSANUSA WHO IS OFFERING TO HELP OUT WITH PAYING $400 OF THE BILL. I HAVE SEEN WHERE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2011 JUKE AND REALLY NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. NISSAN HAS PAID FOR NEW ENGINES WHEN THE CHAIN BROKE, LEAVING PEOPLE STRANDED. THEY PAY FOR A NEW ENGINE (NOT THE LABOR) WITH A 1 YEAR /12,000 MILE WARRANTY, BUT WILL NOT PUT OUT A RECALL ON THE TIMING CHAIN! I CALLED AND GOT AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR FROM A DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO QUOTED ME QUITE A BIT LESS THEN THE $2100 AND I ASKED IF NISSAN WAS WILLING TO GIVE THE $400 TOWARDS THE REPAIR AT THAT LOCATION AND THEY REFUSED. I NOW HAVE OIL SPEWING ALL OVER FROM A CRACKED TIMING CHAIN COVER. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE AND I DO NOT HAVE $2100 PLUS THE COST OF A NEW COVER NOW, ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M UPSIDE DOWN BY $5,000. THIS TRULY IS THE WORST CAR EVER. *TR

MY OWN RESEARCH HAS REVEALS SEVERAL CONSUMER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE TIMING CHAIN IN THE 2011 JUKE. MANY FOLKS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ARE REPORTING THAT AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME MILEAGE AS ME, THEIR CAR STARTS TO RATTLE AND WHEN THEY TAKE IT IN, THEY ARE TOLD THEY NEED A NEW ENGINE. THE HIT CAUSED SOMETHING TO FALL OFF THE TOP OF THEIR CAR AND MAKE A SMALL CRACK ONTO MY DRIVER TAIL LIGHT. THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM NOT READING CORRECTLY, WHICH I HAD MY CAR TAKEN INTO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN JULY, WHERE THEY SPENT 3 HOURS "CORRECTING" THE PROBLEM. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE 3/30/12 AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE CONCERNING THE FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR CONNECTION. THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WOULD TAKE AT LEAST 2 HOURS TO REPAIR AND I WAS UNABLE TO STAY THAT DAY. AT THIS POINT I WAS NOT INFORMED THAT A PART NEEDED TO BE ORDERED IN ORDER FOR THEM TO SATISFY THE RECALL. THIS IS CLEARLY STATED BY THE DEALER ON INVOICE 105444. JUST WONDERING WHY THE PART WAS NOT ORDERED AT THAT TIME. SO I HAD TO GO OUT OF TOWN AND THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED THAT I COULD GO TO ANY NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE THIS DONE, STILL NOT TELLING ME A PART NEEDED TO BE ORDERED. SO WHEN I WAS ABLE TO SCHEDULE A TIME TO HAVE THE RECALL TAKEN CARE OF I DID JUST THAT. I ALSO HAD RECEIVED VIA U.S. MAIL THE RECALL NOTIFICATION. THE RECALL NUMBER IS 12V-069. I WENT TO THE NISSAN DEALER ON MY PRE-SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT AND IT WAS AT THAT TIME I WAS INFORMED THAT A PART NEEDED TO BE ORDERED AND THEY DID NOT HAVE IT IN STOCK. (STILL NOT SURE WHY THEY WOULD NOT ORDER THE PART THEN AND THERE.) SO ONE WASTED TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP. OH BY THE WAY THEY CALLED ME TWICE AND SENT AN EMAIL TO CONFIRM THE APPOINTMENT. SO YESTERDAY I SCHEDULED ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER TO TAKE CARE OF THIS RECALL. SO WHEN I SHOW UP TODAY AT THE DEALERSHIP THEY STILL HAVE NOT ORDERED THE PART. I ASKED IF THEY COULD OVERNIGHT THE PART AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT AND IT WOULD TAKE 2 BUSINESS DAYS TO GET THE PART. UNFORTUNATELY, I AM SCHEDULED TO GO OUT OF TOWN ON BUSINESS FOR THE NEXT MONTH OR SO AND I WAS TAKING THE CAR THAT HAS THE RECALL. SO NOW I HAVE WASTED 2 TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP (30 MILE DRIVE) AND STILL DO NOT HAVE THE CAR FIXED. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH THIS PROCESS AND I THINK THAT NISSAN SHOULD OFFER SOME SORT OF COMPENSATION FOR MY TIME AND GAS. AT THIS POINT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO NEXT. CAN YOU PLEASE ADVISE.

ON 2/1/12 MY DAUGHTER NOTICED A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL COMING FROM THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SAFETY REASONS. THE SERVICE MANAGER FOUND A SEVERE LEAK "THAT WAS POURING FUEL INTO THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT" WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS RUNNING. THE LEAK WAS AT THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND REALIZED THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND HAS HAPPENED TO MANY JUKE OWNERS. MY 18 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER COULD HAVE DIED IN A VEHICLE FIRE! I HOPE IT DOESN'T REQUIRE SEVERAL PEOPLE TO DIE BEFORE A RECALL IS ISSUED. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND NISSAN SHOULD BE AWARE OF IT DUE TO ALL OF THE SERVICE CLAIMS. *TR

Summary

I SCHEDULED A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP FOR A RECALL: NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NO. 11V583000. WHEN I ARRIVED FOR MY APPOINTMENT, I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT NISSAN HAD "PUT A RESTRICTION" ON THE PART AND THEY COULD NOT GET IT. THEY SAID THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THEY WERE ABLE TO GET THE PART. I ASKED WHAT A "RESTRICTION" ON A PART MEANS AND THEY SAID NISSAN WOULD NOT SEND THEM THE PART EITHER BECAUSE THERE WAS A SHORTAGE OF PARTS OR BECAUSE THEY WERE TRYING TO "DISTRIBUTE THEM EVENLY." I ASKED WHAT HAPPENS IF I EXPERIENCE AN ENGINE FAILURE AND SHE HAD NO RESPONSE. *TR

Summary

I HAVE BROUGHT MY 2011 NISSAN JUKE TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. THE LIGHT COMES ON AND GOES OFF FREQUENTLY WITHOUT A PROBLEM. I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN WITH THE LIGHT ON AND NO PROBLEM COULD BE FOUND SO THEY WOULD RESET THE LIGHT. MANY PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE PROBLEM YET THE DEALER REFUSES TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. TODAY I MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE SERVICE BULLETIN (THEY SAID THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IT) THEY SAID THAT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE BULLETIN YET I HAVE THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM. I CALLED NISSAN, THEY AGREED WITH THE DEALER AND SAID UNLESS THE DEALER COULD FIND A DEFECT THERE IS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. TODAY I ACTUALLY DID HAVE A NAIL IN MY TIRE AND THANKFULLY I WAS AT THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER RECALL. I HAVE GROWN SO USED TO SEEING THE LIGHT ON I NOW IGNORE IT. MY FEAR IS THAT I WILL AGAIN IGNORE A PROBLEM AND IT COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR

Summary

VEHICLE INVOLVED: 2011 NISSAN JUKE SL AND HAS 4,192 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, WE RAN OVER SOME DEBRIS WHICH PUNCTURED THE GAS TANK, CAUSING ALL OF THE GAS TO BEGIN POURING OUT OF THE TANK. WE HAD JUST FILLED UP THE 11.8 GALLON FUEL TANK AND HAD NO IDEA THE FUEL WAS LEAKING UNTIL WE PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY APPROX. FIVE MILES LATER. WE CALLED THE FIRE DEPT. FOR FEAR OF THE CAR EXPLODING IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE FIREFIGHTERS WERE SHOCKED THERE WAS NOTHING PROTECTING THE FUEL TANK FROM ROAD DEBRIS BOUNCING UP AND PUNCHING A HOLE INTO IT. I FEEL THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. THE GAS TANK SHOULDN'T BE SITTING OUT SO EXPOSED. NISSAN HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THE MURANO FOR WHICH THEY ORDERED A SAFETY RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD DO THE SAME WITH THE JUKE. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN CORPORATION HAS SHOWN NOT A CARE FOR WHAT HAPPENED TO MY WIFE AND I, CLAIMING IT'S NOT THEIR FAULT WE RAN OVER SOMETHING IN THE ROAD. THE REALITY IS SOME THINGS ARE UNAVOIDABLE TO RUN OVER AND THE GAS TANK SHOULDN'T BE SO EASILY RUPTURED AND POSITIONED WITH NO TYPE OF PROTECTIVE PLATE IN THE WAY. THE REPAIR BILL WAS $863.04 TO PUT IN A NEW GAS TANK. MY WIFE IS NOW TERRIFIED OF DRIVING THE CAR FOR FEAR OF BEING BLOWN UP AND WANTS TO GET RID OF IT. *TR

ON THIS DATE I WAS DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE AND MY AIR CONDITIONER STOPPED COOLING. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL NISSAN PLACE AND THEY SAID SOMETHING "JUMPED" UP FROM THE ROAD AND PUT A HOLE IN MY A/C CONDENSER. MY INSURANCE AGENT HAS NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE AFTER THE NISSAN PLACE TOLD ME TO CLAIM IT ON MY INSURANCE. THEY STATED THAT NISSAN WAS JUST TRYING TO GET OUT OF MY WARRANTY COVERING THIS. I HAVE HAD THE NISSAN JUKE 2011 FOR ONLY 2 MONTHS. *TR
