The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle hesitated. The contact felt the hesitation coming from the front passenger side of the vehicle as the low tire pressure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact pulled over and saw that the front passenger’s side tire was completely flat and torn all the way around. The contact called roadside assistance and a spare tire was placed on the vehicle. The contact then drove to a dealer and was informed that the front passenger’s side coil spring fractured, which caused the puncture and damage to the tire. The dealer replaced the front driver’s and passenger’s side coil springs along with the tire. After the repair, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V573000 (Suspension) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the recall and informed him that the Vin was not included in the recall. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 188,000. The tire puncture caused the tire to burst, resulting in loss of control of the vehicle. The puncture was more like a shredding of the entire circumference.

CRACKED COIL SPRING WAS REPLACED IN 2016 PER RECALL. WHILE DRIVING ON 10/12/2020, SUSPENSION ISSUES OCCURRED AGAIN MAKING THE CAR UNDRIVEABLE AND BARELY AVOIDING SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND INJURY. THERE WAS A LOUD CRACK FROM UNDER THE CAR AND THE VEHICLE BECAME UNSTABLE. I GOT TO A SAFE SPOT TO PULL OVER AND HAD IT TOWED.
AFTER RECEIVING MANY CALLS AND LETTERS FOR AIR BAGS RECALLS, I SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE AGENT JOSH FOR THURSDAY JULY 16, 2020 AT PERFORMANCE NISSAN AT 1345 SOUTH FEDERAL HIGHWAY, POMPANO FL 33062, AT 7:30 AM. WHEN TALKING WITH JOSH, HE TOLD ME THAT THERE ARE TWO RECALLS IN MY NISSAN. I ASKED HIM TO DO BOTH RECALLS AT THE SAME TIME. HE SAID BOTH RECALLS COULD TAKE ONE HOUR. WE SET THE APPOINTMENT AND HE GAVE ME THE PHONE TO TALK TO PERFORMANCE NISSAN FOR CONFIRMATION. ON THURSDAY JULY 16, 2020, I WENT TO THE APPOINTMENT. IT TOOK ME ,MORE THAN THREE HOURS AT THE PLACE. HOWEVER, AT THE END THEY TOLD ME THEY DID ONE RECALL, AND THEY ORDERED THE PARTS FOR THE OTHER RECALL, WHICH PART THEY WILL HAVE IN THREE DAYS. WHEN THEY GAVE THE CAR, I FELT THAT IT DID NOT SOUND AS IT USED TO BEFORE THE RECALL. THE AC DID NOT WORK PERFECTLY, BUT I THOUGHT THAT WAS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT FINISH WITH THE AIR BAG RECALL. ON FRIDAY JULY 17, 2020, MY WIFE DROVE THE CAR TO WORK AS IT IS HER CAR. BUT WHEN SHE CAME BACK, SHE TOLD ME THAT THE CAR HAD PROBLEMS AND SHE DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. I SAID TO HER THAT THE PROBLEM IS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT COMPLETE THE RECALL. ON WEDNESDAY JULY 22, 2020, MY WIFE TOLD ME TO DROP HER AT WORK. I TOOK THE CAR, AND WHEN I STARTED IT I FELT THE CAR WAS MAKING NOISE AND SHAKING. FOR I DID NOT DRIVE IT , AND I SAW AT THAT TIME THAT MY WIFE WAS IN DANGER WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. AFTER I DROPPED HER AT WORK, I CALLED PERFPRMANCE NISSANCE TO REPORT THAT THEY DAMAGED MY CAR WHILE PERFORMING THE AIR BAGS RECALL. THEY CALLED ME TO DRIVE THE CAR TO THEM FOR DIAGNOSTIC. I TOLD THEM THAT THEY MUST SEND SOMEONE TO TOW THE CAR. THEY INSTEAD GAVE ME A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL FOR PICK UP THE CAR. THEY PICKED UP THE CAR BY 3;00 PM.ON THURSDAY 23, 2020 EMAIL: [XXX] REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *CC
I BROUGHT MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER CAUSE THE FIX MY AIRBAG RECALL BUT WHEN I GOT MY CAR BACK MY HORN STOP WORKING IT WAS WORKING WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO THEM THEN I WENT BACK THE THIRD TIME CAUSE THE AIRBAGS LIGHT CAME BACK ON NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME FOR WHAT THEY DID IM I RESPONSIBLE TO FIX MY REPAIR
THE FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE OR UNWOUND AND STABBED THE TIRE. WE WERE JUST LEAVING, STILL IN THE DRIVEWAY AND HAD ONLY TRAVELED A FEW INCHES WHEN WE HEARD A NOISE AND STOPPED. WE WATCHED THE TIRE DEFLATE AND HEARD IT HISSING. THE NEXT DAY (TODAY) WE REMOVED THE TIRE AND FOUND THAT IT HAD BEEN STABBED. MY GRAND-NEPHEW FOUND THERE WAS A RECALL NOTICE. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AT 1-800-867-7669. AND LEFT A MESSAGE, THEN CALLED NISSAN ANCHORAGE DEALERSHIP. THEY OFFERED TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT BEFORE THEY COULD HELP. THAT WOULD REQUIRE A 45 MILE TOW. THEY GAVE ME A DIFFERENT NUMBER AT NISSAN: 800-647-7261. I CALLED AND SPOKE WITH [XXX], SHE GAVE ME A CASE #[XXX], BUT SAID MY VIN WASN'T IN THE CAMPAIGN. APPARENTLY IT DOESN'T APPLY IF THE CAR IS OVER 9 YEARS OLD, AND MAYBE THE MILEAGE IS TOO HIGH, IT'S 104,789. WE ARE ALIVE AND UNHURT BECAUSE OF THE TIMING, BUT THIS COULD HAVE BEEN DEADLY. I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTICE. THEIR WEBSITE DOES NOT LIST ALASKA AS QUALIFYING FOR THE CAMPAIGN. I WILL BE HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO A LOCAL SHOP FOR REPAIRS. NISSAN SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THE EXPENSES. I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, BUT THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THE REPAIRS MIGHT COST MORE THAN REPLACEMENT. NISSAN'S SITE FOR THE RECALL IS: HTTPS://NISSANASSIST.COM/CAMPAIGNS/NISSAN-VERSA-FRONT-COIL-SPRING-SAFETY-RECALL-CAMPAIGN/?FBCLID=IWAR3VNEACLBXKUI_V5VCDEQP151PZCINAC6S3PMFOERGLZ--9D-ZQC0UAGGC INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

NISSAN VEHICLE WAS ON A MAIN CITY ROAD IN MOTION AND THEN SLOWING DOWN TO TRAFFICS CHANGE IN SPEED WHEN REAR ENDED. AS SOON AS VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED, BRAKES WERE PRESSED TO PREVENT FURTHER COLLISIONS WITH VEHICLES UP FORWARD. MY VEHICLE SEATBELTS FAILED TO RESTRAIN DRIVER AND ALL PASSENGERS WEARING THEM DURING A COLLISION. SEAT BELTS DIDN'T RETRACT UNLESS BRAKES WERE SLAMMED. TWO PASSENGERS IN THE BACK WERE CHILDREN. ONE CHILD HAD A CONVERTIBLE CAR SEAT, SAVING THEM AND FULLY RESTRAINING THEM TO SEAT. THE SECOND CHILD WAS IN A BOOSTER SEAT AND WHIPLASHED COMPLETELY FORWARD AND BACK NEARLY HITTING HEAD BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT. THE DRIVER LOCKED THEIR ARMS IN PLACE TO PREVENT HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE FRONT PASSENGER, MYSELF, HIT THE AREA OF THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT AND SUFFERED A SMALL BUT DEEP GASH ON THE FOREHEAD. THIS REQUIRED SUTURES TO CLOSE WOMB UP. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WHEN IMPACT TO VEHICLE WAS MADE. AIRBAGS WERE REPLACED WHEN RECALL TO VEHICLE AIRBAGS WERE MADE IN THE PAST, 2017.*DT VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO NISSAN FOR RECALL THEY SUPOSEIVELY FIXED THE AIRBAG PROBLEM . SINCE THEN I HAS A SMALL FENDER BENDER. AIRBAG DID NOT POP OPEN. LAST WEEK THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT. THE FRONT WAS SEVERLY DANMAGED AND STILL AIRBAG DID NOT POP OUT. I DONT THINK IT EVER GOT FIXED!!!! MY SON COULD HAVE DIED.WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. I'M I COMPLAINING TO THE CORRECT PLACE???
I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR AN AIRBAG RECALL ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND AFTER THE RECALL WAS SUPPOSEDLY DONE BECAUSE AFTER THIS I'M NOT EVEN POSITIVE THEY WORKED ON MY CAR FOR THAT RECALL. AFTER THE RECALL WAS DONE NOW THE CAR HORN IN MY STEERING WHEEL IS NOT WORKING WHEN IT WAS WORKING BEFORE. THE NISSAN ADVISOR SAID THAT THEY CAN'T FIX IT AND THE REASON IS BECAUSE IS AN OLD CAR. THEY WANT ME TO PAY ALMOST 700 HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR THEM TO FIX WHAT THEY RUINED. NOW I HAVE NO CAR HORN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR ANYONE ON THE ROAD. A CAR HORN WORKS TO ADVICE OTHER DRIVERS OF ANY HAZARD. FROM THIS HAPPENING TO ME I NOW THINK THAT THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING IN REGARDS TO AIRBAG RECALLS AND THAT I JUST TOOK MY CAR JUST FOR THEM TO SCAM ME SO I CAN PAY FOR A PART THAT WAS WORKING AND THAT THEY RUINED. THE NISSAN I WENT TOO IS NAPLES NISSAN IN NAPLES, FLORIDA. I ALSO HAVE CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING IN THIS MATTER I HAVE TWO CLAIM NUMBERS ALREADY I HAVE CALLED TWICE AND THERE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS MATTER.
BALL JOINTS NEED TO BE REPLACED. IS THIS NORMAL AFTER ONLY 9 YEARS AND 85,OOOMILES ?

I TOOK MY CAR TO LITHIA NISSAN OF FRESNO, FOR A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS , SINCE PERFORMING AIR BAG RECALL, AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON , NOW IM STUCK WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON, THEY DON T WANT TO FIX IT, I,M WORRIED THAT I CAN HAVE A SAFETY ISSUE LATER ON IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT
WHILE PULLING ON TO THE I-26 ON RAMP THE VEHICLE LOST ALL PROPULSION POWER AND WOULDN'T MOVE. THEN AFTER I GOT OVER TO THE SHOULDER IT WOULD START BUT STILL CONTINUES TO DIE AFTER 1 OR 2 SECONDS RUNNING. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT HAD DONE THIS BEFORE ABOUT 6 MONTHS PRIOR. I AM CURRENTLY STUCK DUE TO THIS ISSUE

TODAY, 5/1/2019, MY CAR'S REAR SPRING SNAPPED. THANKFULLY I WAS GOING SLOW AND IT DIDN'T CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. HOWEVER, THE REASON I'M REPORTING THIS IS BECAUSE THE FRONT SPRINGS WERE RECALLED FOR NOT BEING COATED PROPERLY, BUT THE BACK SPRINGS WERE NOT AND IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME TYPE OF PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING LESS THAN 25 MPH, BRINGING MY FRIENDS KIDS TO THE BUS STOP AND I HEARD A LOUD SPRING POPPING BANG NOISE AND FELT IT UNDER MY CAR.

DRIVING ON A CURVY ROAD AND LOST STEERING. TOOK THIS CAR TO A MECHANIC AND THE COIL SPRING AND SWAY BAR WHERE BROKEN. SEVERAL BOLTS HOLDING PLASTIC UNDER CAR FELL OFF AND BUMPER HALF WAY FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALSO THE HEAT SHIELD HAS BEEN WELDED TWICE. THIS CAR HAS 80,000 MILES AND HAS HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN FIVE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REMEDIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE15019, BUT EXPERIENCED FAILURES RELATED TO THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS. THE CONTACT FELT THAT REPAIRING THE VEHICLE WITH THE SAME OEM PARTS WOULD LEAD TO MORE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
HAD MUFFLER REPLACED TWICE DUE TO EROSION?! THE MAIN PROBLEM THOUGH IS THAT I STILL HAVE A CONSTANT RATTLING WHEN I'M STOPPED OR CAR IS IDILING. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE I HAD MY MUFFLER FIXED AND AFTER IT'S BEEN FIXED. SO I KNOW IT'S NOT THE MUFFLER. THAT'S A WHOLE OTHER ISSUE. BUT, THE RATTLING SOUNDS LIKE A LOUD MUFFLER, BUT GETS LOUDER THE MORE I'M IDLING. WHEN I START THE CAR IT'S LOUD LIKE A CORRODED MUFFLER, BUT I JUST HAD IT REPLACED, SO PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE.
SEEN UPON CHECK-UP FOR INSPECTION. DRIVERS SIDE REAR COIL SPRING BROKEN OFF.
MY DAUGHTER WAS LEAVING A PARKING LOT IN OUR 2011 NISSAN VERSA AND THE STEERING LOCKED AND SO DID THE BRAKES. SHE WAS UNABLE TO STOP AND ROLLED INTO A PARKED CAR. SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. SHE NARROWLY MISSED A RAVINE LEADING TO A HIGHWAY.

POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING.
THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG INFLATOR LIGHT FLASHED AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THAT RECALL FIXED AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CLOCK SPRING WAS THE DEFECT WHICH MADE THE AIR BAG LIGHT COME ON WHICH THE AIR BAG WAS DEFECTED AND THE HORN DID NOT WORK. WHAT STARTED OUT AS A FREE SERVICE TURNED INTO A COST OF $311 WHICH I DID NOT HAVE. IF THE AIR BAG INFLATOR LIGHT COMES ON BECAUSE OF THE DEFECTED CLOCK SPRING THEN WHY ISNT THE CLOCK SPRING THE RECALL ITEM. SEEMS TO ME THAT INORDER FOR IT ALL TO WORK IT IS THE CLOCK SPRING THAT NEEDS THE RECALL.

TAKATA RECALL I WENT TO GREY DANIELS NISSAN IN BRANDON, MISSISSIPPI LAST YEAR (I WANT TO SAY AUGUST) AFTER READING AN ARTICLE ON A FINANCIAL COLUMN I FOLLOW IN REGARDS TO THE TAKATA AIR BAGS. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED IN ANYWAY PRIOR TO THAT. I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE USED FROM SOMEONE WHICH IS WHAT I BLAMED FOR NOT BEING NOTIFIED. (HOWEVER I KNOW THAT IS QUITE POSSIBLE THAT A LARGE COMPANY SUCH AS NISSAN KEEPS RECORDS OF VINS AND COULD TRACK THEIR VEHICLE'S OWNERSHIP THROUGH THAT) THEY REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG AND BROKE PART OF MY DASH IN THE PROCESS. I WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG WAS UNAVAILABLE FOR REPLACEMENT AND WOULD NOT BE UNTIL THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR. EVEN THOUGH I KNOW THAT THEY MAKE REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS FOR VEHICLES, I MADE AN EXCUSE AND TOLD MYSELF, "MAYBE IT'S A CERTAIN COMPANY THEY'RE GOING WITH." I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE DRIVER'S SIDE REPLACED SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR. THEIR WEBSITE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO SCHEDULE ANYTHING MORE THAN TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE UNTIL LAST WEEK, WHEN IT ALLOWED FOUR DAYS IN ADVANCE. I MADE MY APPOINTMENT AND CLEARLY STATED WHY I WAS COMING IN. I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WOULD WAS NOT AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER IT. I KNOW PEOPLE WHO HAVE OTHER MANUFACTURERS WHO HAVE GOTTEN A RENTAL CAR WHILE THEY WERE FIXING THE AIR BAG. I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT MY INSURANCE COMPANY SO THE INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD PAY FOR THE RENTAL, NOT NISSAN.
THE MATERIAL WHERE MY ARM REST THAT HAS THE CONTROLS FOR MY WINDOWS AND DOOR LOCKS, ON DRIVER SIDE, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE, AND BACK PASSENGER SIDE IS COMING APART. MY SLEEVES GET CAUGHT SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD.
VEHICLE WAS FREQUENTLY MAKING AN ODD NOISE - LIKE TENSION BEING RELEASED WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS - TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS WERE CORRODED. NISSAN HAS RECALLED THIS PART FOR OTHER VERSAS FROM OTHER STATES "DUE TO SALTING OF THE ROADS" OUR STATE DOES NOT SALT SO WE WERE NOT INCLUDED. IT ALSO ONLY APPLIED TO THE VERSA SEDAN - NOT HATCHBACK. CLEARLY THIS IS A BIGGER PROBLEM THEN NISSAN WANTS TO EXPLORE OR ADMIT TO. UPON CALLING THEM THEY WILL OFFER NO REMEDY AS WE DID NOT TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FIRST. BUT A COMPLIANT HAS BEEN FILED WITH NISSAN. THIS IS A CLEAR SAFETY CONCERN AS THE SPRING CAN SNAP AND PUNCTURE THE TIRE - IT IS A PROBLEM WITH CARS THAT AREN'T ON SALTED ROADS! NISSAN NEEDS TO EXPAND THIS RECALL.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER FAILED TO PROVIDE THE PART FOR AN AIR BAG RECALL FOR OVER TWO MONTHS. THE REMEDY FAILED TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE AIR BAG RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER (KINGSTON NISSAN, 140 NY-28, KINGSTON, NY 12401, (845) 338-3100) PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE FOR TWO MONTHS. AFTER RETRIEVING THE VEHICLE, THE DEALER HAD NOT YET PROVIDED A SOLUTION AFTER THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE RECALL REPAIR FAILED TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA INFLATORS: I VERIFIED WITH NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR WAS ALSO UNDER RECALL AS OF JANUARY 2018 AND I WAS TOLD TO ADVISE THE DEALER. I WENT JAN 26 TO GET THE DRIVERS SIDE INFLATOR FIXED AND ADVISED THE SERVICE GUY THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD ALSO BEEN RECALLED, SO I WOULD LIKE THEM BOTH FIXED. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR HE HAD ONLY REQUESTED THE DRIVER SIDE TO BE REPAIRED. I WAS LATE TO WORK SO I LEFT BUT I WAS VERY UPSET BECAUSE I HAVE TO TAKE MY MOTHER TO HER APPOINTMENTS AND DO NOT HAVE TIME TO KEEP GOING BACK AND FORTH TO THE DEALER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING COLUMN AND STEERING COLUMN ADJUSTMENT LEVER WERE LOOSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000.

IN 2015 WAS DRIVING MY 2011 NISSAN VERSA. IT WAS CLEAR WEATHER 830AM I WAS ON A STREET WHICH SPEED WAS 40-55MPH GOING WITHIN THE SPEED LIMIT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PROPERLY MAINTAINED SINCE OWNERSHIP WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE MY RIGHT FRONT END DROPPED WHICH I LEARNED WAS ( MY FRONT COIL SPRING SNAPPED) AND CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO LOOSE CONTROL AND THE CAR TO ROLL MULTIPLE TIMES AND ME BEING EJECTED OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS ALSO DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE ENGAGED ON. NISSAN DID NOT NOTIFY ME OF THE RECENT RECALL OF THE FRONT COIL SPRING AT ALL. I'M CURRENTLY FILING A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE COMPANY DUE TO SERIOUS DAMAGES THAT HAVE AFFECTED ME GREATLY.

TAKATA RECALL AND SPRING COIL RECALL I PURCHASED/FINANCED MY NISSAN VERSA CAR THIS YEAR 2017 AROUND FEBRUARY. SOMETIME IN JULY 2017 I RECEIVED A LETTER INFORMING ME OF THE TAKATA RECALL FOR THE AIR BAG INFLATOR HAZARD AND TO CONTACT THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. I CONTACTED THEM HERE IN MONROE MICHIGAN GAVE THEM MY VIN NUMBER AND THEY THEN INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE AWARE OF THE RECALL & ALSO INFORMED ME OF A SECOND RECALL OF A SPRING COAL RECALL WAS A RECALL BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND WAS NOT INFORMED OF IT ALSO, THEY THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT AT THAT TIME THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY LOANER VEHICLES AVAILABLE & THAT THEY CAN PLACE ME ON A WAITLIST OR THAT I COULD CALL AROUND TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANY AVAILABLE. THEY STATED THAT THEY ONLY HAD 4 LOANER VEHICLES ON THERE LOT & THAT THEY WERE USING THEM ONLY FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS & THEY WOULD COME FIRST BEFORE ANYONE ELSE. I CALLED THREE OTHER DEALERSHIPS THEY ALL PUT ME ON THE WAITING LIST WITH NO RESPONSE BACK & SEVERAL ATTEMPTS INQUIRING ABOUT THE LOANER VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR SINCE JULY UP UNTIL THE DATE, WHILE I HAD BEEN DRIVING PRIOR TO JULY I HAD HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH THE SUSPENSION ON THE CAR, HAD THE CAR SERVICES TWICE AT THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM WITH NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR YOU CAN SMELL A TIRE BURNING SMELL & THEY SAID IT WAS OK TO DRIVE. I THOUGHT OTHERWISE SO I COMPLETELY STOP DRIVING THE CAR STILL PAYED THE CARNOTE MONTHLY & CAR INSURANCE WAITING ON THE LOANER VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF THIS I HAVE ALMOST LOST MY JOB, MISSED WORKED & HAD TO CAR POOL MY KID'S & I BACK & FORTH TO SCHOOL & WORK. I TALKED TO THE NISSAN CORPORATION THEY INVESTIGATED IT & INFORMD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REIMBURSE ME & STILL PROCEEDED TO KEEP ME ON THE WAITLIST I HAVE RECENTLY GIVEN THE CAR BACK REQUESTING FOR A REFUND.

TAKATA RECALL: I GOT THIS RECALL INFORMATION FROM TK HOLDINGS ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL AND WHEN I AM CONTACTING MY DEALERSHIP IT SAYS ITS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL SPRING 2018. WHEN CAN THIS BE REPLACED AT THE EARLIEST AND WHY THIS DELAY IS OCCURRING AT THE FIRST PLACE.
THE POWER STEERING LIGHT HAS COME UP 2 TIMES WITHIN THE LAST 2 WEEKS. BOTH TIMES HAVE BEEN WHEN THE CAR IS PARKED AND I TURN IT ON. THE LIGHT COMES UP AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS. BOTH TIMES I HAVE TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. IF THIS EVER HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I WILL PROBABLY LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASH. THE CAR ONLY HAD 35105 MILES ON IT.

TAKATA RECALL I WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THIS RECALL BY THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 MONTHS AGO (SEPTEMBER 2017). I WAS TOLD THEN THAT THE RECALLED AIRBAG WOULD NOT BE RESOLVED UNTIL SOMETIME IN THE SPRING OF 2018 ROUGHLY PLACING THE NEEDED RECALL 6 MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL WAS ANNOUNCED. AN OFFER OF A LOANER CAR WAS MADE BUT THE QUESTION THEN WAS, "WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THE AFFECTED VEHICLE?" I WAS TOLD TO LEAVE IT SIT IN MY GARAGE UNTIL THE REPLACEMENT COULD BE MADE. I DON'T THINK 6 MONTHS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A RECALL NOTICE AND THE ACTUAL REPLACEMENT IS APPROPRIATE EVEN IF A LOANER CAR WAS OFFERED. THE REPLACEMENT SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN A MORE TIMELY FASHION. WHAT OPTIONS DO I HAVE?

SEPTEMBER 26, 2017, I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET GOING APPROXIMATELY 25MPH WHEN MY CAR JUST STOPPED NEAR THE END OF THE ROAD. I NOTICED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS, BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. I COULDN'T EVEN STEER. IT SCARED ME! I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED A MINUTE AND TURNED THE KEY. IT STARTED BUT I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT TO WORK SO I WENT BACK HOME. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC TO SEE IF HE COULD FIND THE PROBLEM. IT WAS THE GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY: P2138. I WAS TOLD IT HAD THE WRONG APP SENSOR RATIONALITY SIGNAL. THE MECHANIC WAS ADVISED BY THE NISSAN DEALER TO TELL ME NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR UNTIL THE PART WAS REPLACED AS THE CAR COULD SHUT DOWN ANYTIME, ANYPLACE WITHOUT WARNING AND COULD CAUSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECALL. I DID AS I WAS TOLD AND LEFT MY CAR AT THE SHOP UNTIL MY PART CAME IN AND WAS REPLACED.

TAKATA RECALL NHTSA RECALL 17V-449 I WOULD LIKE MY RECALL TAKEN CARE OF ASAP AS I AM CONCERNED WITH SAFETY. I WAS TOLD WHEN I HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICED THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET.
TAKATA INFLATORS. I HAVE RECEIVED NOTICE, THAT MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP CANNOT REPAIR MY AT RISK AIRBAGS, UNTIL THE SPRING. THEY ALSO HAVE RUN OUT OF LOANER CARS AVAILABLE. I JUST FIND THIS WORRISOME, THAT I HAVE TO DRIVE A CAR, THAT COULD HAVE A DEFECT, FOR THIS LONG OF A TIME.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN'S CORPORATE OFFICES AFTER CALLING LOCAL NISSAN DEALERS TO COORDINATE THE REPLACEMENT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERS THAT THE RECALL AND REPLACEMENT OF PARTS WILL NOT BEGIN TO TAKE PLACE UNTIL SPRING OF 2018. I WAS TOLD THE SAME BY THEIR CORPORATE OFFICES. I EXPLAINED THAT I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE AND SAFE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR A LOANER. I WAS TOLD BY ALL OF MY LOCAL DEALERS THAT MY REQUEST IS NOT FEASIBLE AS THEIR LOANER VEHICLES ARE LIMITED AND INTENDED FOR OTHER PURPOSES. I INFORMED THEM THAT IT WAS THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE WHO OFFERED IT AS A SOLUTION, BUT THEY SAID NO. WHEN ICALLED THEIR CORPORATE OFFICES TO INQUIRE AS TO WHY I WAS ADVISED TO REQUEST A LOANER IN THE MEANTIME, THEY ASKED ME TO BE PATIENT AND WAIT UNTIL THEY'RE READY TO REPLACE THE PARTS. AGAIN, I ASKED WHY THE AFOREMENTIONED SOLUTION WAS INITIALLY OFFERED IF IT WASN'T AN OPTION. I WAS MET WITH THE SAME STATEMENT AND THEIR REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT TO DATE, THERE HAVE BEEN NO INCIDENTS REPORTED INVOLVING THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE. I ASKED, IF THAT'S THE CASE, HOW WAS YOUR COMPANY MADE AWARE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND I WASN'T GIVEN AN ANSWER. THEY REPEATED THEMSELVES AND OFFERED NO VIABLE SOLUTION. AT THE MOMENT, I NEED THE VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM WORK AND I PRAY THAT I DON'T GET INVOLVED IN ANY TYPE OF ACCIDENT. SINCE THEN, I'VE BEEN RECEIVING SOLICITED CALLS FROM THE DEALERSHIPS REGARDING THE RECALL. HOWEVER, IT'S NOT TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART(S), IT'S TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE AS A SOLUTION TO THE RECALL. IT'S PREPOSTEROUS THAT THE WOULD EVEN CALL REGARDING THE RECALL TO SOLICIT SALES INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY ADDRESSING THE ISSUE.
AFTER RECEIVING BY MAIL NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL, I WENT TO A NISSAN DEALER TRYING TO GET A RENTAL CAR. FIRST ATTEMPT AN ASSOCIATE APPROACHED ME "TRYING TO MAKE HER SELL"... I PRESENTED MY NOTIFICATION AND IMMEDIATLY SHE CHANGED HER APPROACH. SHE TOLD ME IT WAS TOO LATE AND THAT I NEED IT TO COME BACK. I WENT BACK A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND EARLIER, AT 04:00PM AS SHE REQUESTED. AGAIN, NO ONE WAS ABLE TO HELPED ME GETTING A RENTAL OR SUBSTITUTE VEHICLE. I REQUESTED FOR THEM TO CHECK WITH OTHER NISSAN DEALERS, BUT I JUST GOT A "NO" FOR AN ANSWER: "I AM BUSY, I HAVE TOO MUCH LOAD WORK... ETC" I CALLED MYSELFT TO ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WILL CALL ME BACK IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS, WHEN THEY HAVE AN AVAILABLE RENTAL CAR FOR ME.... UNTIL NOW THAT DEALER HAVEN'T CALL ME YET. I WENT TO A NISSAN DEALER, AND AT THIS POINT I WAS ALL CONCERNED DUE TO MY NEW JOB COMMUTE. FINALLY I FOUND AN ASSOCIATE WILLING TO HELP, BUT I HAVE TO PAID DEPOSIT ($50.00) FOR THE RENTAL CAR AND INCREASED MY INSURANCE PAYMENTS UP $130 MONTHLY PREMIUM (UPDATED TO FULL COVERAGE EVEN AFTER I PAID OFF MY CAR -NISSAN VERSA 2011-) ANY DEALER ASSOCIATE SHOWED CORNCEN FOR THE SAFETY RECALL NOR FOR ANY POSSIBLE FATAL ACCIDENT.

TAKATA RECALL - I RECEIVED AN INTERIM OWNER NOTIFICATION-SAFETY RECALL FROM NISSAN RE: THE AIRBAG RECALL. THAT NOTIFICATION STATES THAT NISSAN ANTICIPATES THE REPLACEMENT PART(S) TO BECOME AVAILABLE IN THE SPRING OF 2018 AND I HAD TO WAIT FOR A SECOND NOTICE WHEN THE PART BECOMES AVAILABLE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY AND THEY AREN'T EVEN STARTING A PARTS WAITING LIST OR SCHEDULING APPTS UNTIL THE SPRING OF 2018 AND THAT NO ALTERNATIVE PARTS (I.E. NEW STEERING WHEEL WITH OUT THE TAKATA AIRBAG) WERE AVAILABLE. THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE AND I USE IT TO TRANSPORT MY SPECIAL NEEDS TODDLER (4 ADA DIAGNOSES) TO HER SPECIAL NEEDS SCHOOL. I'VE BEEN RENTING A CAR OR HITCHING A RIDE TO PROVIDE HER TRANSPORTATION. SHE ALREADY HAS MULTIPLE DISABILITIES AND WE SHOULDN'T BE LEFT NO OPTION OTHER THAN TO RUN THE RISK OF ADDITIONAL INJURY TO HER. WE LIVE IN A RURAL AREA AND HAVE HAD TO CUT OUR FOOD BUDGET IN ORDER TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL TO GET HER TO SPECIAL SCHOOL. WAITING UNTIL SPRING OF 2018 TO START A PART(S) AND SERVICE WAITING LIST IS UNACCEPTABLE. I'VE JUST RECEIVED THE NOTICE RE: CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY, SO WE MISSED THE PPIC DEADLINE BEFORE WE KNEW THERE WAS ONE. NOW THE RESTITUTION FUND DEADLINE IS THE END OF NOV BUT THOSE CLAIM FORMS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON THE TKRESTRUCTURING.COM WEBSITE. THERE HAS TO BE A LEGAL WAY, FOR TAKATA TO PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR OR TEMP REPLACEMENT SO OUR FAMILY IS SACRIFICING BASIC NEEDS IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET HER SAFELY TO SCHOOL AND WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE THIS EXPENSE UNTIL SOMETIME IN THE VAGUE SPRING 2018. I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL FOR AIRBAG ON DRIVER'S SIDE. THE NEW AIRBAG WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SPRING 2018. THE NISSAN DEALER RECOMMENDS THAT I DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR AND HIRE A CAR FROM ENTERPRISE. THE LOAN CAR WOULD BE FREE, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE. THE COST OF THAT WOULD BE $28 PER DAY. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! I CANNOT PAY THAT AMOUNT. WHAT DO I DO? DO I RISK INJURY BY DRIVING THE CAR? WHAT IS THE ACTUAL RISK? NOBODY CAN TELL ME.

TAKATA RECALL. I CONTACTED ANTWERPEN NISSAN -SECURITY (BALTIMORE, MD), BUT WAS TOLD THEY WILL NOT SERVE VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THIS RECALL UNTIL MARCH OF NEXT YEAR. MEANWHILE, I AM DRIVING MY KIDS IN THIS CAR EVERY DAY, WHICH IS VERY RISKY IN CASE SOMETHING HAPPENS AND THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED!
DROVE FOR SEVERAL YEARS HAVING NO IDEA MY LIFE (AND FAMILY/FRIENDS) WAS AT RISK. FAR, FAR WORSE THAN THAT...DURING 2016-2017 I DROVE THE VEHICLE WHILE PREGNANT!!!!! FOLLOWING THAT IN 2017, I DROVE WITH MY NEWBORN CHILD IN THE CAR AND MY HUSBAND!!!! I CANNOT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE THE LEVEL OF ANXIETY AND HORROR I FEEL HAVING LEARNED OF THIS RECALL AFTER MY CHILD WAS BORN. I AM IN ABSOLUTE SHOCK AT THE THOUGHT OF WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED!!! ALTHOUGH THE DEALER HAS GIVEN ME A LOANER FREE OF CHARGE UNTIL THE PART IS REPLACED, I HAVE NO WHERE TO HOUSE MY VEHICLE. I DO NOT HAVE A GARAGE OR PRIVATE DRIVEWAY. THE CAR IS PARKED ON A PUBLIC STREET FOR WHAT COULD BE MAYBE SIX MONTHS?! THIS INCLUDES BEING PARKED OVER WINTERTIME. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE DAMAGE TO THE MONETARY AND FUNCTIONAL VALUE OF MY VEHICLE AS IT SITS SEEMINGLY ENDLESSLY. MOREOVER, I AM MUCH TOO FRIGHTENED TO EVEN CONSIDER GETTING INTO THE CAR TO START THE ENGINE OR MOVE IT AROUND DURING THIS PERIOD. HOWEVER, THE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE STARTED AND THE CAR WILL NEED TO BE MOVED. BUT, THAT IS A TRUE QUANDARY.
TAKATA RECALL - I WAS RECENTLY NOTIFIED THAT MY 2011 NISSAN VERSA HAS A SAFETY RECALL DUE TO THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. I WAS TOLD THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REPAIR IT UNTIL SPRING OF 2018 WHEN PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE. THE ONLY OPTION THEY GAVE ME WAS A LOANER VEHICLE THAT I WOULD BE REQUIRED TO BRING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP EVERY MONTH TO RENEW AND I WOULD NOT BE COMPENSATED FOR MY TIME AND INCONVENIENCE IN HAVING TO REPEATEDLY DRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP. I DO NOT WANT A LOANER VEHICLE FOR MANY REASONS, IF THEY CANNOT REPAIR IT THEY THEY SHOULD HAVE TO BUY IT BACK BUT THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO SO. I AM NOW FORCED TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE, RISKING INJURY AND DEATH ON A DAILY BASIS SINCE I CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY ANOTHER CAR.

OBVIOUSLY NO ONE IN THIS ORGANIZATION READS PEOPLES LETTERS. I HAVE NOT REQUESTED TO PURCHASE A VERSA, I ALREADY OWN A VERSA THAT FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS HAS BEEN UNDER RECALL FOR AN EXPLODING AIRBAG THAT CAN CAUSE DEATH OR INJURY, AND THAT NISSAN HOPES TO GET IT FIXED SOMETIME NEXT YEAR. I WAS NOT TO LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT FOR A YEAR BECAUSE OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, SO PASSENGERS WERE RELEGATED TO THE BACK SEAT. . NOW IT'S THE DRIVERS AIRBAG. WILL NISSAN RECOMMEND DRIVING FROM THE BACK SEAT? MY LETTER SAID I WAS INTERESTED IN THE LOANER CAR MENTIONED IN THE NEWEST RECALL LETTER I RECEIVED. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO SPEAK WITH ME IN REGARDS TO THAT MATTER, PERHAPS YOU COULD DIRECT ME TO SOMEONE WHO MAY. THIS IS THE LETTER I SENT TO NISSAN AFTER WHICH I WAS FLOODED WITH CALLS AND EMAILS BECAUSE I SHOWED INTEREST IN PURCHASING A VERSA. THE RECALL SAID SPRING OF 2018 TO REPAIR, I'M IN FLORIDA, THE CAPITOL OF HIGH HUMIDITY. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS A YEAR FROM THE PROMISED FIX DATE, AND I CANNOT DRIVE AROUND WAITING FOR MY STEERING WHEEL TO EXPLODE. IF THEY CAN BUILD NEW CARS, THEY HAVE AIRBAGS AVAILABLE. SOMEONE NEEDS TO PRESSURE THEM TO GET THIS DONE OR BUY THESE VEHICLES BACK. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION.

RECENTLY, I EXPERIENCED AN EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL TANK ON MY 2011 NISSAN VERSA. IT WAS A LEAK THROUGH THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP AND INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT DUE TO DEFECTIVE, ARCING ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. I REPORTED THIS TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY JUST "BLEW ME OFF". THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY OR FATALITY SO I WAS SHOCKED BY THEIR LACK OF CONCERN. I AM A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER WITH CREDIBILITY AND CREDENTIALS TO PROPERLY IDENTIFY AND EVALUATE THIS HAZARD. ATTACHED IS SOME OF MY CORRESPONDENCE WITH NISSAN AS FURTHER DETAILS. TAKATA RECALL - I FOUND OUT ABOUT THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG RECALL ON AUGUST 10TH FROM SOCIAL MEDIA AND CALLED MY DEALERSHIP ON AUGUST 12TH (FERMAN NISSAN IN TAMPA, FL) EXPRESSING MY CONCERN ABOUT THE RECALL AND ASKED FOR IT TO BE REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD THAT REPAIRS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AT THE TIME, NOR DID THEY EXPECT THEM TO BECOME AVAILABLE UNTIL MID 2018. I EXPRESSED MY DISCOMFORT AT DRIVING AROUND IN A POTENTIALLY FATAL VEHICLE AND REQUESTED A LOANER VEHICLE UNTIL MY CAR WAS REPAIRED. I WAS DENIED A LOANER VEHICLE FROM THE DEALERSHIP, AND WAS TOLD TO CONTACT CORPORATE ABOUT IT. I DID, AND RECEIVED AN EMAIL ON AUGUST 22ND DENYING ME A LOANER VEHICLE, AND WAS TOLD TO CONTACT MY DEALERSHIP. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY VEHICLE EVERY DAY, BUT HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE.

WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT ,WHEN A PERSON DIMS THEIR HEADLIGHTS THE DIMMER WILL CAUSE HEADLIGHTS TO TURN COMPLETELY OFF . POSING A DANGER TO EVERYONE IN THE CAR!! THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR IN 2012 AND IS CONTINUING.
ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2016, I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR'S STEERING VIOLENTLY PULLED TO THE RIGHT AND WHEN I TRIED TO CORRECT IT, THE CAR THEN TURNED ALL OF THE WAY TO THE LEFT, CAUSING THE CAR TO ROLL OVER SEVERAL TIMES. ALTHOUGH I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON, THE PRE-TENSIONERS DIDN'T FIRE TO KEEP ME FROM MOVING AROUND AND HITTING MY HEAD. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS WENT OFF EITHER, NOT EVEN THE ONES ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE CURTAIN WHERE THE CAR WAS DAMAGED. AFTERWARDS, I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND A CHIROPRACTOR BECAUSE I HURT MY BACK, NECK AND MY HEAD. I ALSO GOT A LAWYER BECAUSE I HAD NOT DONE ANYTHING WRONG WHILE DRIVING. THE STEERING PROBLEM JUST CAME OUT OF NOWHERE. NISSAN, TAKATA, TKH AND MY LAWYER INSPECTED THE CAR IN MARCH AND FOUND THAT NONE OF THE AIR BAGS WENT OFF, THE SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONERS DIDN'T ACTIVATE, THE CAR'S VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR HAD A FAULT CODE, THE CAR'S INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR HAD A FAULT CODE AND NISSAN'S ENGINEER THAT WAS THERE WAS UNABLE TO ACCESS THE POWER STEERING MODULE WITH HIS MACHINE. NEXT, WE FOUND OUT THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM CAN SHUT DOWN DUE TO EXCESSIVE STEERING AT SLOW SPEEDS. THAT IS BAD BECAUSE NISSAN HAD A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT SAID THAT THE CAR CAN PULL TO ONE SIDE EVEN WHEN ALIGNED BASED ON NISSAN'S REQUIREMENTS. THIS MEANS THAT THE REASON PEOPLE HAVE HAD STEERING PROBLEMS IS BECAUSE OF THE CAR'S DESIGN, NISSAN'S ALIGNMENT REQUIREMENTS AND THE CAR NEEDING TO BE ALIGNED DIFFERENTLY. ALSO THE INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR CAN CAUSE A CAR TO SURGE AND SPUTTER, THIS CAN BE WHY PEOPLE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION. THERE IS NO REASON WHY THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS DIDN'T PROTECT ME. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE SPEEDOMETER RECALL MAY BE DUE TO THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR PROBLEM. MY CAR WAS TOTALED AND THESE THINGS NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED.
PASSENGER AIR BAG RECALL WAS FIXED BUT AIR BAG LIGHT IS STILL BLINKING. DEALER SAYS PROBLEM IS NOW WITH DRIVER SIDE. DEALER SAYS WE MUST PAY TO HAVE IT ANALYZED AND THEN PAY FOR WHAT EVER IS WRONG WITH IT. TO ME AN AIRBAG IS AN AIRBAG NO MATTER WHAT SIDE. TV NEWS SHOWS DRIVER SIDE AIRBAGS BLOWING UP. IT SHOULD BE A RECALL AS WELL.
I WAS DRIVING MY VERSA LIKE ALWAYS GETTING BACK HOME AND THEN THE AIR BAG SIGNAL APPEAR ON MY DASH WITHOUT ANY REASON
STEERING WHEEL WOULD SNAP BACK FOR TWO WEEKS AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ONE MORNING I HEARD A LOUD SNAP ON THE CONTROL ARM AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A GRINDING STOP.
POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND POWER STEERING IS LOST MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN WHEEL. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE STARTING THE CAR AND HAS HAPPENED TWICE WHILE DRIVING. TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING SEEMS TO HELP, HOWEVER WHILE DRIVING THIS ISN'T ALWAYS POSSIBLE.
I DO NOT KNOW IF IT IS A TAKATA RECALL. HOWEVER, I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECAL BACK IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER OF 2016. IT IS NOW MAY 2017. SHOULDN'T THERE HAVE BEEN A REMEDY TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE BY NOW?

JUST DRIVING ONE DAY AND AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON, FLASHING ON AND OFF. THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THE SPIRAL CABLE ASSEMBLY, CAUSED FROM PINCHED WIRES IN STEERING COLUMN WENT OUT AND DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER YESTERDAY AND WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR REPAIR. I SAW A FB POST THAT NHTSA IS INVESTIGATING THAT PROBLEM ON 2012 VERSA. ARE THERE ANY RECALLS AND DOES IT INCLUDE 2011 VERSA? AWAITING REPAIR OF THE TAKATA PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG, I NOTICED ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE THAT NISSAN HAD PUBLISHED A FIX FOR THE ISSUE. I DROVE TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING TO START THE REPAIR PROCESS BUT I'M TOLD THAT THERE'S NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE (DESPITE PROOF THAT I'M IN THE FIRST OF THREE GROUPS LISTED FOR DEALERS). SO I'M MORE AWARE OF NISSAN'S DOCUMENTED RECALL THAN NISSAN ITSELF?
TAKATA, THIS CAR HAS A PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. WE GOT THE RECALL NOTICE SOMETIME LAST YEAR IN MARCH.SINCE THE I HAVE CALL THE DEALER MANY TIME AND ALL THE CAN TELL ME IS THAT THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS IN YET. I JUST CAN T BELIEVED THAT THEY TAKE MORE THAN A YEAR TO GET THESE PARTS IN.IT HAS BEEN A BIG INCONVENIENCE THAT WHEN I WANT TAKE A TRIP WITH MY FAMILY AND NOT BEING ABLE TO GO CAUSE OF THIS RECALL,. DON'T THINK I WILL BUY NISSAN CAR EVER AGAIN.
TAKATA RECALL IN JULY 2016, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NISSAN ADVISING ME OF THE TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL. CONTINUED EXPOSURE TO AREAS WITH HIGH LEVELS OF ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY MAY CAUSE THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR HOUSING TO RUPTURE AND DEPLOY ABNORMALLY. I CALLED IN SEPT - THEY TOLD ME I WOULD GET ANOTHER LETTER IN OCT FOR THE FIX. I CALLED IN NOV - THEY TOLD ME I WOULD GET ANOTHER LETTER IN DEC FOR THE FIX. I CALLED IN JAN - THEY TOLD ME I WOULD GET ANOTHER LETTER IN MAR FOR THE FIX. IT'S NOW APRIL 2017, STILL NO FIX. I LIVE IN SOUTH FLORIDA WITH HIGH LEVELS OF HUMIDITY AT TIMES. I CAN'T HAVE ANYONE IN MY CAR, AND RISK DRIVING MY CAR EVERYDAY. IT'S BEEN 10 MONTHS. WHAT IS THEIR OBLIGATION HERE?
TAKATA RECALL: I WAS NOT INFORMED ABOUT THIS RECALL UNTIL A BARE MENTION IN JANUARY, 8 MONTHS INTO THE RECALL. SINCE REPAIR IS NOT AVAILABLE, IT REQUIRES ME TO KEEP FRONT PASSENGER SEAT EMPTY, AND I WAS NOT TOLD THIS. THE RECALL HAS BEEN EXTANT FOR A YEAR, I CANNOT USE THE FRONT SEAT, AND NO REPAIR IS STILL AVAILABLE. THIS MAKES MY CAR SIGNIFICANTLY LESS USEFUL FOR MY FAMILY.

AT AROUND 72,000 MILES, BOTH FRONT SPRINGS BROKE. AS ONE OF THE ATTACHED PICTURES SHOWS, A VERY SHARP END OF ONE OF THE SPRINGS WAS LESS THAN 2 INCHES AWAY FROM A FRONT TIRE. BAD SPRINGS ON THIS CAR ARE A KNOWN SAFETY ITEM FOR NHTSA, BUT ONLY IN WHAT ARE CALLED "SALT STATES" - PLACES WHERE THEY USE SALT ON THE ROADS. THAT IS SIMPLY WHITEWASHING THIS PROBLEM. I DO NOT LIVE IN A SALT STATE, NOR HAS THIS CAR EVER BEEN IN ONE IN WINTER. NHTSA SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.
IT HAS BEEN NEARLY A YEAR SINCE I WAS TOLD NOT TO USE MY PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE THE AIRBAG COULD EXPLODE AND HARM OR KILL THE PASSENGER. IT THE AIRBAG GOES OFF WITH JUST A DRIVER, IT COULD EASILY CAUSE A CRASH, HARMING OR KILLING THE DRIVER AND OTHERS. I LIVE IN FLORIDA, ULTRA HIGH HUMIDITY, WHICH IS THE WORSE CONDITION FOR THE AIRBAGS. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A REDUCED USE VEHICLE, THE VALUE IS REDUCED BECAUSE WHO WANTS TO BUY A CAR WHEN YOU CAN'T USE PARTS OF IT, OR ANY OF IT,SAFELY. WE ARE CONSTANTLY TOLD THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT AVAILABLE, BUT MIRACULOUSLY THEY ARE STILL BUILDING CARS WITH AIRBAGS. IF THE CAR MAKERS OR OUR OWN GOVERNMENT CARED, THERE SHOULD BE A SHORT DEADLINE WHEN AFTER A CERTAIN DATE, THEY COULD NO LONGER SELL CARS UNTIL ALL DANGEROUS PROBLEM VEHICLES ARE CORRECTED . THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS THAT THIS IS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN.

THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS BROKE SHORTLY AFTER 70,000 MILES. AS FAR AS I KNOW, THEY FAILED AT THE TIME I WAS PULLING OUR OF MY DRIVEWAY. THERE WAS A LOUD NOISE AT THE TIME. I KNOW THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THESE MODELS IN THE SO CALLED "SALT STATES", BUT MY STATE IS NOT INCLUDED. THERE ARE FAR TOO MANY FAILURES OF THIS KIND IN NON SALT STATES. THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY A MANDATORY RECALL. EVENTUALLY, SOMEONE WILL DIE.
TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR MY VEHICLE BUT THE PARTS SIMPLY ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE AND THAT THEY HAVE NO CONTROL OVER IT. DO WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE GETS HURT AND WE HAVE TO SURE BEFORE SOMETHING IS DONE? WE HAVE TWO VEHICLES THAT NEED RECALLS DONE. HOW DO I GET THIS TAKEN CARE OF?
MY HUSBAND WAS EXITING THE INDIANA TOLL ROAD ON THE RAMP TO PAY TOLLS. AS HE WAS DRIVING HIS AIR CONCENTRATOR FELL. WHEN HE REACHED FOR THE CONCENTRATOR HE RAN OFF THE RAMP, HIT A SIGN, THEN BOUNCED BACK HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY YET HE HIT HARD ENOUGH THAT THE SEATBELTS LEFT VERY CLEAR BRUISING, HIS SHOULDER WAS CAUSING PAIN AS WELL AS HIS LOWER BACK WHICH RECEIVED COMPRESSION FRACTURES FROM THE BELT. HE AS TAKEN TO THE AREA HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE AND IS IN TREATMENT AS OF TODAY. OUR CONCERN IS THE FACT THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH THE FORCE OF THE CRASH COMPLETELY SHATTERED THE WINDSHIELD AND THE FRONT AND REAR ENDS OF THE CAR WERE BADLY DAMAGED CAUSING THE VERSA TO BE A TOTAL LOSS.
TAKATA RECALL THIS RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC VEHICLE WAS INITIATED MAY 23, 2016 IT IS NOW FEB 7TH 2017. WHEN WILL THE PARTS BE MADE AVAILABLE TO EFFECT THE REQUIRED REPAIR?

THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AGAINST NISSAN REGARDING THIS ISSUE TO NO AVAIL.
THE SUB FRAME BUSHING NEEDS REPLACED. IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. MY CAR ONLY HAS 30,000 ON IT. WHEN RESEARCHING I HAVE FOUND THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MOST NISSAN VERSA"S. WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL????????
MY VERSA SUDDENLY QUIT RUNNING WHILE IT WAS STATIONARY A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART, AND THERE WAS NO SMELL OF FUEL ASSOCIATED WITH THE RESTARTING PROCESS. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO PEP BOYS AUTO REPAIR SHOP, AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE FUEL PUMP AND THE POWER SUPPLY FUSES FOR THE FUEL PUMP AS THE CAUSES. THE VEHICLE HAD 46,000 MILES EXACTLY. IF THIS HAD OCCURRED ON A FREEWAY, OR IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, THE HAZARDS WOULD HAVE BEEN CONSIDERABLE..
TAKATA RECALL. MY PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT IS FLASHING WHEN CAR IS ON, WHETHER I'M SITTING STILL OR DRIVING. NISSAN WANTS $120 TO DO A DIAGNOSTIC. I DON'T HAVE IT, AND DON'T FEEL I SHOULD PAY IT, AS THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL, BUT MY VIN# IS NOT INCLUDED. WHAT DO I DO?
STARTING ABOUT 2-3 WEEKS AGO MY WIFE WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE A/C NOT WORKING PROPRTLY. THEN ABOUT A WEEK AGO WHEN YOU TURN THE ALARM ON THE HORN WOULD NOT BEEP LETTING YOU KNOW IT WAS ARMED. YESTERDAY WHEN I WENT OUT TO START THE CAR TO GO TO WORK NOTHING WORKED OR CAME ON. MY WIFE BROUGHT HER VEHICLE OVER TO JUMP START IT. AS SOON AS THE JUMPER CABLES WERE HOOKED UP THE BATTERY ON THE VERSA EXPLODED AND THERE WAS ALOT OF SMOKE. NOW THE CAR IS JUST SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY CANT EVEN GET IT OUT OF GEAR TO MOVE IT. EVEN IF IT GETS FIXED MY WIFE IS NOW AFFRAID TO PUT OUR 2 YEAR OLD SON, HERSELF OR ME IN IT TO DRIVE ANYWHERE. YOU CAN STILL SMELL THE BURNT SMELL FROM UNDER THE HOOD

TAMARA RECALL NHTSA RECALL 16V-349 NISSAN DEALER WILL NOT LEND A LOANER OR RENTAL CAR. CAR CANNOT BE FIXED TILL OCTOBER 2016. DRIVER HAS NO MONEY TO RENT A CAR AND IS FORCED TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE CAR. CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR US. DEALER TALKED TO IS BERT ODGEN NISSAN MCALLEN TEXAS LOCATED ON JACKSON ROAD.
THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ON MY 2011 VERSA OCCASIONALLY GOES ON AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND THEN THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO GO AWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MAYBE 3-4 TIMES IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS? I CALLED THE DEALER TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX IT AND THEY SAID IT IS SOMETHING THAT I SHOULD TRY TO LIVE WITH SINCE IT IS SO RARE. THEY OFFERED NO SOLUTION OR A WAY FOR THEM TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR AND IT MAKES ME NERVOUS THAT THE POWER STEERING COULD GO OUT AT ANY TIME. I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT THIS IS AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION FOR A NISSAN PRODUCT? THIS SEEMS LIKE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN?
I HAVE 42000 MILES ON MY CAR, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN YESTERDAY MY MUFFLER STARTED RATTLING AND BEING EXTREMELY LOUD. I PARKED MY CAR AND IT WAS FINE, BUT WHEN I STARTED IT UP TO LEAVE WHERE I WAS IT WAS NOISY - VERY SUDDEN AND UNEXPECTED. HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT IT, AND IT APPEARS THAT THE FLANGE BETWEEN MY MUFFLER AND THE MANIFOLD CRACKED CLEAN APART. NOT DUE TO RUST OR CORROSION AS IT IS A CLEAN BREAK. HE SAID IT APPEARED TO HIM THAT IT MUST NOT HAVE BEEN A VERY GOOD WELD TO BEGIN WITH.
DUE TO POOR WELDING AT THE FLANGE MY EXHAUST PIPE HAS BECOME SEVERED AT THE FLANGE EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOT TO MUCH RUST PRESENT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO EXHAUST NOT GOING OUT THE TAIL PIPE
MY NISSAN HAS UNDER 50,000 MILES ON IT. I DRIVE IN NEW ENGLAND, ROADS ARE A BIT TOUGHER- HOWEVER MY MUFFLER IS MAKING A LOUD NOISE AND HANGING LOOSE FROM THE BODY OF MY CAR. MY RESONATOR PIPE SNAPPED AND I GOT A QUOTE FOR $931.75 FROM A LOCAL MEINEKE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM. IT SEEMS DANGEROUS THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME ON A CAR THAT SHOULD STILL BE RUNNING EFFICIENTLY, I NOTICED IT WHILE DRIVING, GOT HOME AND PULLED OVER TO NOTICE THE MUFFLER WAS VERY VERY LOOSE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PERFORM A FOUR WHEEL ALIGNMENT, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR AXLE HAD SHIFTED WHICH MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO ALIGN THE REAR WHEELS. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEANING FROM THE FRONT TO THE REAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE LEANING WAS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
EXHAUST SYSTEM, REAR MUFFLER, POOR WELD AT FLANGE: VIRTUALLY NO RUST OR CORROSION BUT WELD BEAD SEPARATED FROM FLANGE CAUSING MUFFLER TO SHAKE AND MOVE AROUND AND COULD POSSIBLY SEPARATE AND FALL OFF VEHICLE. ALSO, THE LOOSE JOINT CAUSES EXHAUST FUMES TO NOT ALL GO OUT THE TAILPIPE TIP; WHICH COULD BE DANGEROUS.
THIS MODEL SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR RECALL FROM NISSAN.THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS NOT FUNCTIONAL, THE WARNING LIGHT CONTINUALLY FLASHES, AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT SHOWS "OFF" EVEN WHEN MY 200 POUND SON IS SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT.
CAR MAKING NOISES WHEN TURNING. STRUT BEARINGS REPLACED. RECALL SERVICED ON FRONT COIL SPRINGS. CAR IS AT 87800 MILES BUT AT 87300 ENGINE STARTED MAKING KNOCKING/PINGING/CLICKING/TICKING NOISES. TOOK TO NISSAN. MECHANIC SAID NISSAN ENGINEERS SAY THIS IS NORMAL FOR THEIR 4 CYLINDER MOTORS. SAID HE COULDN'T LOCATE SOURCE OF SOUND BUT POSSIBLY CYLINDER 2 OR 3. HE TOLD ME UNTIL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON OR UNTIL ENGINE FAILS DON'T WORRY ABOUT ME TO KEEP OIL CHANGED EVERY 3700 MILES AND RUN ENGINE RESTORE PRODUCTS IN WITH OIL CHANGES. I TRIED THIS THE NEXT DAY, AND NOISE BECAME WORSE. THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN RUN LOW ON OIL, HAS BEEN SERVICED LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE, NEVER SMOKES OR BURNS OIL, OIL ALWAYS LOOKS CLEAN AT OIL CHANGES. SINCE THE NOISE STARTED, THERE IS DECREASED FUEL MILEAGE. OTHER THAN THAT, THE SOUND AND IT'S TUNE SO TO SPEAK, HAVE BEEN THE ONLY CHANGES AS FAR THE ENGINE GOES. THE SUSPENSION/STEERING STILL ISN'T RIGHT. AFTER BEARINGS REPLACED, SOME NOISE WENT AWAY WHILE TURNING, BUT NOW TURNING EITHER WAY, WHEN FIRST TAKING OFF, VEHICLE MAKES WEIRD CLUNKING NOISES. I'M WONDERING IF IT HAS BAD STRUTS?
I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR COIL SPRING RECALL. DEALER SAID THEY ALSO REQUIRED ADDITIONAL COST FOR REPLACING BEARING STRUTS @$65 AND THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING; SUBFRAME , STAYS & CAT CONVERTER DUE TO RUST @$2486.09. THEY CAR FRAME IS RUSTING AWAY.
THE LEFT TIRE KEEPS THE TMPS LIGHT ON, THE PLACE I PURCHASED THE CAR FROM SENT ME TO A TIRE PLACE TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM, SINCE THE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON...THE TIRE SHOP FOUND OUT THE TIRE'S STEM SENSOR IS LEAKING AIR. THEY FOUND THE AIR ESCAPING AFTER THE WATER ON THE TIRE SEARCH TO FIND AIR ESCAPING.
HORRIBLE POPPING NOISE WHEN TURNING AND GOING SLOW. LIKE SOMETHING IS GOING TO FALL OFF THE CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INSPECTION LOCATION WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REJECTED DUE TO SEVERE RUST AND LEAKAGE FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM TO THE TAIL PIPE. THE BLUE PAINT ON PORTIONS OF THE HOOD OF OUR 2011 NISSAN VERSA SL IS NOT ADEQUATELY STICKING TO THE PRIMER, AND THUS LARGE CHUNKS OF PAINT ARE CHIPPING AWAY OVER TIME. THE AMOUNT OF PAINT LOSS IS GREATER AFTER LONG STRETCHES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING, INDICATING LOSS DUE TO WIND. WHAT STARTED AS A 1" X 1" CHUNK OF PAINT BECOMING CRACKED AND EVENTUALLY SEPARATING AND FALLING OFF, HAS NOW TURNED INTO A 7" X 4" AREA OF EXPOSED PRIMER, AS WELL AS A LINE OF SOON TO BE LOST PAINT ON THE HOOD ALONG THE PASSENGER SIDE. ONE DAY I FOUND MY TODDLER WITH BLUE PAINT IN HER MOUTH. IT TURNS OUT SHE REACHED AND GRABBED A CHUNK OF LOOSE PAINT WHILE I WAS PULLING HER OUT OF HER CARSEAT.
POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AFTER INITIALLY STARTING THE VEHICLE. POWER STEERING SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. WILL RANDOMLY FIX ITSELF AFTER TURNING CAR OFF AND RESTARTING.

THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,150.
MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED OUR VERSA IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR. FOR THE LAST COUPLE WEEKS WE HAVE NOTICED THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING AND IT IS BECOMING A HAZARD AS WE ARE TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND IT IS DOING NOTHING. I AM CONCERNED AS IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND FOR THE CAR TO HAVE UNDER 70K MILES ON IT THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.
I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK ONE MORNING AT 430AM I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE. I FELT A PULL IN MY STEERING WHEEL AND HEARD A BIG POPPING NOISE AND PULLED OVER TO CHECK ON IT AND EVERYTHING TO ME AT THAT TIME LOOKED OK. I KEEP DRIVING 5 MORE MINS OR SO AND I HEARD THE NOISE AGAIN AND AT THAT TIME MY PASSENGER TIRE WAS FLAT, I HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK WHICH COSTED ME 160$. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST A REGULAR TIRE BLOW OUT TILL MY I TAKE IT TO GET FIXED AND MY SUSPENSION HAD BUSTED. I HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT BUMPER (GET IT PAINTED EXTRA 135$), PASSENGER SIDE FENDER WINDSHIELD WIPER BOX,PASSENGER FENDER WELL, ABS SENOR CABLE, GET THE SUSPENSION FIXED AND THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT GOES ALONG UNDER THE DOORS.(THE LONG PIECE ALONG THE BOTTOM) A TOTAL OF 670$ OUT OF MY POCKET
(POSTING COMPLAINT FOR MY MOM) SHE WAS DRIVING ALONG THE ROAD AT ABOUT A FAIRLY LOW RATE OF SPEED (25ISH) WHEN SHE HEARD A LOUD BANG FROM THE FRONT END. SHE CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME WHERE I DETERMINED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN AND DISLODGED ITSELF FROM THE STRUT PLATE. I WILL BE CONTACTING NISSAN ABOUT THE ISSUE.
I WAS TURNING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME, HEARING NOISE WHENEVER I TURNED THE WHEEL. MY HUSBAND TOOK A LOOK AT THE CAR WHEN I GOT HOME. WE DISCOVERED THAT THE STRUT COIL HAD BROKEN AND WAS RUBBING THE TIRE. I WAS LUCKY THAT IT DIDN'T BLOW MY TIRE.
EXHAUST SYSTEM CORRODING EARLY AFTER NORMAL USE. NEED TO REPLACE MIDPIPE AND SPRINGS HOLDING PARTS OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IN PLACE. I AM HAVING THEM REPLACED BEFORE IT CAUSES AN INCIDENT, BUT IF NOT FIXED IT COULD HAVE LEAD TO PIECES OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM FALLING OFF DURING DRIVING AND CAUSING A ROAD HAZARD
ON 7/20/15 WAS OUTSIDE HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION FROM GARAGE AREA. LOOKED AROUND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING. CHALKED IT UP TO CONCRETE CRACKING AFTER HEAVY FLOODING IN THE AREA. 7/23/15 GOT IN CAR TO GO TO TOWN. THE CAR DID NOT SEEM TO WANT TO MOVE TURNED STEERING WHEEL AND BANG THE SOUND OF METAL HITTING CONCRETE. LOOKED TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED AND FOUND THE RIGHT FRONT STRUT COIL SPRING BROKE AND PIECE OF IT WAS LAYING UNDER THE CAR. SO NOW I KNOW WHAT THE SOUND FROM MONDAY WAS. OF COURSE THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A LOT WORSE IF HAD BEEN DRIVING. FOR A COIL SPRING TO UNSEAT FROM STRUT MOUNT WHILE PARKED IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. WHERE THE SPRING BROKE SHOWED SIGN OF OLD CRACK IN STEEL. IT HAD A RUSTED SPOT ABOUT A 1/4" DEEP ONE SIDE. HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN AND A REP. IS SUPPOSED TO CONTACT ME. CAR CANNOT BE MOVED WITHOUT RISK OF FURTHER DAMAGE. AND OF COURSE ITS PASSED 3/36 WARRANTY. I WILL WAIT AND SEE WHAT NISSAN REP. HAS TO SAY, BUT I EXPECT TO HAVE REPAIR MYSELF AT MY OWN COST. WHICH I WILL REPLACE BOTH FRONT STRUTS TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE, AND HAVE TO HAVE AN ALIGNMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, A CRACKING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE HOOD. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS AN ONGOING FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE DRIVING HABIT OF THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
LOUD CLUNK HEARD WHEN BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY. GOT ONTO ROAD AND FRONT TIRE SHREDDED AFTER STARTING TO MOVE FORWARD. TOWED VEHICLE TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN. LEFT FRONT SPRING BROKE AT 31306 MILES ON JUNE 19 OF 2015.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN MAKING A SHARP TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED OR BECAME LOOSE WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TWO DEALERS, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. ONE DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND MERGING TO THE LEFT LANE, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME LOOSE AND SUDDENLY SEIZED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO FIVE TREES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT WRIST, CERVICAL STRAINS, MUSCLE SPASMS AND THE LEFT SHOULDER WAS IMPACTED AND REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
WHILE GARDENING OUTSIDE, WE HEARD A LOUD SOUND. THERE UNDER MY CAR WAS A PIECE OF MY CAR'S COIL SPRING, IT JUST CRACKED SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY.
I WAS DRIVING ON FLAT ROAD AND HEARD A LOUD BANG. I PULLED OVER AND SAW MY LEFT FRONT END HAD DIPPED DOWN. MY LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING CRACKED INTO TWO PIECES.I WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW. IN 2013 I HAD TO HAVE THE FRONT STRUT MOUNT BEARINGS REPLACED (UNDER WARRANTY). INSULATION TUBES WERE INSTALLED ON THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF THE COIL SPRINGS AT THAT TIME. HOW COULD I HAVE SO MANY SUSPENSION ISSUES WITH SUCH A YOUNG CAR? MY RESEARCH SHOWS COIL SPRINGS HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE FOR NISSAN VERSA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. IN ADDITION, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. UPDATED 7/8/15*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION GOES INTO FAIL SAFE MODE. FIRST THE ENGINE OIL LIGHT DOES NOT WORK. THIS CAR BURNS OIL QUICKLY. DUE TO THIS I HAD BEEN RUNNING MY CAR WITH LOW OIL. WHICH RESULTED WITH A PISTON POPPING OUT AND IT IS REQUESTED I REPLACE MY ENGINE. *TR
PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY,HEARD A LOUD CLUNK FROM FRONT DRIVERS SIDE,GOT OUT AND CHECKED VEHICLE,THE DRIVERS SIDE SPRING WAS BROKEN. THANKFULLY THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AT A HIGHER SPEED. *TR
MY DAUGHTER PULLED OUT OF HER PARKING SPOT, TURNED INTO TRAFFIC AND SPED UP TO 30 MILES AN HOUR. SHE HEARD A LOAD NOISE AND AFTER MAYBE A 100' SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. SHE PULLED OVER AND CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK. THE CAR WAS DROPPED AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT. WE WERE CALLED A LITTLE LATTER THAT THE RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING WAS BROKEN. I AM HAVING BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS REPLACED AS RECOMMENDED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY HAVE REPLACE COIL SPRINGS ON OTHER VERSA MODELS FOR PREMATURE BREAKING AND THAT WAS ONE OF THE REASONS THEY RECOMMENDED REPLACING BOTH. IF THIS HAPPENED AT HIGHER SPEEDS AND THE COILS WENT INTO THE TIRE IT COULD HAVE A CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THERE ARE MANY NISSAN VERSA MODELS WITH LOW MILEAGE WITH FAILED COIL SPRINGS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING TO WORK I HAD A FLAT TIRE. A GARAGE FIXED IT. MY CAR WAS MAKING FUNNY NOISES AND BANGS WHEN I DROVE IT. I WENT TO A DIFFERENT GARAGE, THE MECHANIC WOULDN'T LET ME DRIVE IT OFF THE LOT AS IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS. HE FIXED THE CAR. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE FRONT END STRUTS AND SPRINGS BROKE IN HALF, THAT IS WHY I HAD THE FLAT IN THE FIRST PLACE. WHY WOULD A CAR THAT IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD FALL APART LIKE THAT? AFTER THE TIRE WAS FIXED I DROVE THE CAR FOR ANOTHER MONTH IN THIS DAMAGED CONDITION, IT COULD HAVE BROKEN COMPLETELY WHILE I WAS IN IT. PLUS I JUST PAID 1060.00 TO FIX IT. HAS THIS HAPPENED TO OTHER NISSANS? *TR
NISSAN VERSA 2011 HATCHBACK SL. FRONT RIGHT(PASSENGER SIDE) COIL SPRING SNAPPED AND HIT AGAINST INNER FENDER. SPRING SNAPPED NEAR THE TOP OF THE COIL WHERE THE FIRST FULL DOWNWARD COIL COMES IN CONTACT WITH THE UPPERMOST END OF THE SPRING. I FIRST NOTICED A NOISE WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY ONTO THE STREET. OUR LOCAL NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID, "HAVEN'T HAD THAT PROBLEM", AND SUGGESTED I CONTACT NISSAN USA WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT POSSIBLE COMPENSATION FOR THE DEFECT. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN ACKNOWLEDGMENT OR REPLY FROM NISSAN. THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER COULDN'T TELL ME IF THEY HAD THE SPRINGS IN STOCK FOR THE REPAIR, BUT IN A WAY, WOULD I REALLY WANT THEM? I HAD TO PUT TWO, AFTERMARKET STRUT/SPRING ASSEMBLIES IN THE CAR TO GET IT BACK ON THE ROAD A.S.A.P. CRAZY FOR A CAR WITH 65K MILES ON ASPHALT ROADS. I FEEL FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD TIRES PUNCTURED BY THE BROKEN SPRINGS AND I TOO AM STILL CONCERNED ABOUT MY WIFE DRIVING THE CAR ON THE INTERSTATE, EVEN WITH THE DIFFERENT BRAND STRUTS/SPRINGS. *TR
I WAS DROPPING OFF SOMEONE, THE CAR WAS IDLING, AND ONCE IT WAS CLEAR TO DRIVE THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND IT WAS VERY HARD TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I DROVE IT TO A SCHOOL THAT WAS A MILE AWAY, PARKED, AND THEN TURN IT OFF. I GAVE IT A COUPLE OF MINUTES AND THEN I TURNED IT ON AND THE STEERING WORKED FINE. SO FAR IT HAS NOT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS CAR IS ALMOST 4 YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 30,000 MILES. WE ARE VERY SURPRISED, THOUGH I HAVE GONE ON SOME NISSAN WEBSITES AND SAW THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO OTHER OWNERS. CURRENTLY THIS IS NOT UNDER RECALL, BUT ARE HOPING IT WILL BE. WE TOOK IT TO NISSAN THIS WEEKEND AND THEY TOLD US THE PART RUNS 600.00$, THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST IS 175.00$, AND THEN THE LABOR COST. WE WERE NOT EXPECTING TO HAVE SUCH AN EXPENSIVE PROBLEM WITH THE NEWEST CAR WE OWN. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF I THERE IS ANYTHING FURTHER THAT I CAN DO. THANK YOU, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
THIS MORNING, MY CAR WOULD NOT START. I USED A BATTERY CHARGER PACK, AND IT STARTED. HOWEVER, AFTER DRIVING 3 MILES TO THE LOCAL AUTO ZONE CAR STORE TO CONDUCT A FREE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR TEST, THE CAR STALLED OUT. AFTER USING THE BATTERY PACK TO JUMP START IT AGAIN, THEIR BATTER/ALTERNATOR CHECK MACHINE CONCLUDED THAT IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. IT IS 1/19/2015 AND THE CAR IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION 2011 NISSAN VERSA WITH 33,000 MILES ON IT; THERE ARE NO MODIFICATIONS ON IT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HAS STOPPED WORKING AFTER ONLY 33,000 MILES WHEN THE AVERAGE LIFESPAN OF NISSAN FACTORY ALTERNATORS TEND TO LAST TO OVER 100,000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING SEIZED AND THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ACTIVATED, THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR LIGHTING FLASHED, AND THE DOORS LOCKED AND UNLOCKED. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A POLE. THE DRIVER SUFFERED FROM BRUISES TO THE UPPER CHEST AND BURNED HANDS DUE TO THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED BRUISES TO THE CHEST AND WAIST AREA. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED AT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
ON 11/29/2014 I WAS I WAS TRAVELING ON A STATE HWY AT 55 MILES PER HOUR AT A MILD DESCENT IN ELEVATION IN THE RAIN WHILE APPROACHING A RED TRAFFIC SIGNAL AND INTERSECTION APPROXIMATELY 1/4 MILE AHEAD. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN THE PEDAL WENT FLAT TO THE FLOOR, I REAPPLIED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES OVER AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME RESPONSE. I THEN WENT TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND REAPPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL SIMULTANEOUSLY AND AT THAT TIME IT WAS SO OVERLY SENSITIVE THAT IT OVER-BROKE AND NEARLY CAUSED A CRASH. *TR
DROVE CAR TO STORE, CAME BACK OUTSIDE AND CAR WOULD NOT START, ONLY A FEW INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. JUMP STARTED THE CAR IT STARTED RIGHT AWAY, TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS AND CAR INSTANTLY STOPPED AND WOULD NOT RESTART. TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP. *TR
MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON SINCE EARLIER THIS YEAR. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS. IT JUST CAME ON ONE DAY AND NEVER TURNED OFF. ITS MY PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. I'M WORRIED IF AND WHEN I ACTUALLY DO GET INTO A ACCIDENT GOD FORBID IT WON'T DEPLOY. I ASKED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AND ALL THEY SAID I COULD DO WAS TO PAY $108 TO RUN A TEST TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I THINK THAT'S OUTRAGEOUS TO HAVE TO PAY $108 TO CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS A POTENTIAL ISSUE. AND THEN WHAT IF ITS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE AM I GOING TO GET MY MONEY BACK AND CAR FIXED FOR FREE?? *TR
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CONTINUOUSLY BLINKS AND SAYS THAT IT IS TURNED OFF, I AM AFRAID THAT IF I AM IN AN ACCIDENT THE AIRBAGS WON"T DEPLOY AND MY LIFE IS IN DANGER. *TR

THE CAR BEGAN TO RUN VERY LOUDLY, FUEL CONSUMPTION WAS INCREASED, POWER OF VEHICLE DECREASED. THE FIRST MECHANIC STATED IT COULD HAVE BEEN THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. AFTER RESEARCH I FOUND THAT MANY NISSAN VERSA OWNERS HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND THE TAILPIPE COULD HAVE A BREAK IN IT. I TOOK IT TO MIDAS AND IT WAS FOUND THAT THE MUFFLER WAS STAINLESS STEEL BUT THE WELD GOING FROM THE MUFFLER TO THE FLANGE/TAILPIPE WAS REGULAR STEEL WHICH CORRODES VERY EASILY CAUSING BREAKAGE. IF THIS HAD NOT BEEN FIXED IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE MUFFLER COULD HAVE FALLEN OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING OPERATED, AS WELL AS MANY OTHER POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. *TR
APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2011 NISSAN VERSA I NOTICED A KNOCKING SOUND UNDER THE HOOD. IT ALMOST SOUNDED AS THOUGH THE CAR WAS LOW OF OIL BUT THIS WASN'T THE CASE. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT "THE VALVES OR VALVE SLEEVES WERE CUT TOO LONG DURING THE MACHINING PROCESS OF THE MOTOR AND THEY WERE TAPPING AGAINST THE BOTTOM OF THE MOTOR". HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THIS SHOULD NOT CAUSE ANY PROBLEMS, HOWEVER... AFTER READING SEVERAL OTHER STORIES OF WHAT SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME SYMPTOMS AND THEN HAVING TO HAVE THE MOTOR REPLACED I DECIDED TO WRITE THIS IN HOPES OF AN INVESTIGATION OF A POSSIBLE RECALL. *TR
AFTER ARRIVING HOME WHILE TAKING GROCERIES OUT OF THE CAR MY GRANDSON CLOSED THE DOOR I DON'T BELIEVE IT WAS HARD (HE'S 4YRS OLD) THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED THIS IS A CAUSE FOR CONCERN IF A FOUR YEAR OLD CAN CAUSE AN AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT THERE IS OBVIOUSLY A PROBLEM WITH THE SENSOR WHEN I CALLED TO REPORT IT I FIND OUT THAT IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. *TR

I PURCHASED MY 2011 NISSAN VERSA 1.8 BASE MODEL HB AT THE END OF 2010, ALMOST 1 YEAR LATER MY VEHICLE BEGAN GIVING ME PROBLEMS: THE HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE BURNING OUT AFTER USING THE HIGH BEAMS FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I'VE CHANGED MY BULBS OVER 10 TIMES SINCE I'VE HAD MY VEHICLE. THE NEXT ISSUE I HAVE IS THE WINDSHIELD/REAR WINDOW SPRAY PUMP, IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING SO I CHECKED TO SEE IF IT WAS LOW ON LIQUID IT WAS I REFILLED BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT WORK, SO I TOOK THE CAR IN AT VACAVILLE NISSAN TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIND ANY LEAKS. NO LEAKS WERE FOUND. SO WHERE IS THE LIQUID GOING? ALL IN ALL I ASKED IF MY CAR WAS ON RECALL, THEY SAID NO! I GO THROUGH LIGHT BULBS ALMOST EVERY MONTH, AND ITS BAD THAT I HAVE TO PULL OVER INTO A GAS STATION EVERY TIME MY WINDSHIELD GETS DIRTY, THIS IS NOT FAIR TO ME AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING! I THEN, WENT BACK TO NISSAN TO SEE HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST TO NOT ONLY DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE WITH MY HEADLIGHTS BUT TO PAY FOR AND INSTALL A NEW SPRAY PUMP. DIAGNOSE $250...I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY!, NEW SPRAY PUMP + INSTALLATION LABOR =$4500, REALLY?! *TR
THE VERSA WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND A DRUNK DRIVER CAME IN THE BACK AND SLAMMED INTO THE CAR. THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR CONTINUALLY LIGHTS UP CAUSING PANIC AND EXTREME INCONVENIENCE. WE NEVER KNOW IF THE TIRES ARE FLAT OR IF IT IS A MALFUNCTION. WE HAVE CHECKED ONLINE AND FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS. WHEN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WERE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM. HOW CAN THIS BE? THE MALFUNCTION IS ALMOST ALWAYS ON THE FREEWAY AND AT VERY DANGEROUS TIMES AND UNSAFE AREAS. THE DEALERSHIP WAS WELL AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT HAD NO INTENTION OF HELPING US. THIS IS SOMETHING NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT, IT IS UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED! *TR

I WAS IN A CAR CRASH; I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND IT VEERED OF THE ROAD, CRASHED INTO A GUARDRAIL,ROLLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CAR EXPERIENCED FRONT IMPACT, SIDE IMPACT, REAR IMPACT, THE ROOF OF THE CAR CRUSH IN AND NOT ONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. I HAVE PICTURES AVAILABLE IF NEEDED. I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY DEFECT AND I FEAR THAT EVEN THOUGH I WAS FORTUNATE TO NOT BE CATASTROPHICALLY INJURED THAT SOMEONE ELSE MAY NOT HAVE THE SAME FORTUNE IF THIS MATTER IS NOT INVESTIGATED AND RESOLVED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK, BACK AND SUSTAINED A CONCUSSION. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUFFERED NECK AND BACK PAINS AND THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE PASSENGER SUFFERED NECK PAINS. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED FROM THE SCENE TO THE HOSPITAL. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT COLLISION CENTER HOWEVER, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE MECHANIC DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG HAD ONLY PARTIALLY DEPLOYED DURING THE CRASH AND THE SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE DEFECT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
WHILE CAR WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY (GETTING WASHED), I HEARD LOUD POP AND FRONT END DROPPED A COUPLE OF INCHES. RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING SPONTANEOUSLY BROKE. CAR HAS BEEN VERY GENTLY DRIVEN FOR 3 YEARS, 28,000 MILES. *TR
TIRE WARNING LIGHT FLASHES THEN GOES SOLID. INTERMITTENT. FILLING WITH AIR MAKES NO DIFFERENCE. REPLACED TIRE STEMS. REPLACED TIRE MONITORING IN RIGHT FRONT TIRE. WARNING LIGHT IS ON AGAIN. *TR
2011 NISSAN VERSA WAS TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR NOT SHIFTING OUT OF PARK. AT THE TIME, POWERTRAIN WARRANTY WAS NO LONGER IN EFFECT. DEALER ADVISED, THAT THE SHIFTER SOLENOID IS NOT FUNCTIONING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE COST FOR THE SHIFTER SOLENOID IS APPROXIMATELY $600.00 DOLLARS. I CONDUCTED A RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED NISSAN HAS THIS PROBLEM WITH MOST OF THEIR VEHICLES AT LOW MILEAGE. NISSAN HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, THE SUSPENSION IS ALSO MAKING NOISES AND HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN, WHO HAS ADVISED THE STRUT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE MAKES CLICKING NOISED WHEN TURNING TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. THE COST FOR OEM STRUT IS APPROXIMATELY $ 200.00. I AM HAVING TO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE AND CONSIDERED TO TRADE IT IN IF NISSAN DOES NOT RECALL VEHICLES. *TR
THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO GO ON AND OFF AS WELL AS A KNOCKING SOUND HAD DEVELOPED. WE HAD OUR SON, WHO HAD ATTENDED SCHOOL TO BECOME A MECHANIC, CHECKED IT LOOKING AT THE OIL LEVEL. THE OIL WAS ABOUT A QUART LOW AND HE ADVISED US TO TAKE IT TO CARMAX WHERE WE HAD PURCHASED THE CAR. AFTER TWO DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND AN OIL CHANGE AT $140.00, MY HUSBAND WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. IT IS BURNING OIL AND IS BEING EMITTED OUT THE EXHAUST AND HAS EXCESSIVE ENGINE BLOW BY. WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED BY MAXCARE, CARMAX'S WARRANTY COMPANY, THAT IN ORDER TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM AND DETERMINE IF IT IS COVERED BY WARRANTY WE HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER $400.00 TO HAVE THE ENGINE TORN DOWN WITH NO GUARANTEE REPAIRS WILL BE COVERED BY THE WARRANTY THE ANOTHER $400.00 TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER IF IT IS NOT FIXED. ALSO, AT LEAST 3 TIMES WHEN THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT BEGAN TO TURN ON AND OFF THE VERSA STALLED WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WE ALSO COMPLAINED TO CARMAX THAT THE CHECK TIRES INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF CAUSING US TO CONSTANTLY STOP TO CHECK THE PRESSURE AND OFTEN IT WAS OK. CARMAX OFFERED TO RUN ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR MORE MONEY TO TRY TO FIND OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. BOTH PROBLEMS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE IN THE FUTURE AND IT SEEMS THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT REPAIRED IS TO PAY OUT OF OUR POCKET. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE A KNOCKING NOISE WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE IT WAS ADVISED TO THE CONTACT THAT THE STRUT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000. *TR
MY HUSBAND PURCHASED THE NISSAN VERSA 4HB 2011 BRAND NEW. A FEW MONTHS BACK WHILE DRIVING ON THE TEXAS FREEWAYS 70 MPH...THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND I LOST POWER AND SPEED, THIS WAS FRIGHTENING AND VERY DANGEROUS....WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE THROTTLE BODY NEED TO BE REPLACED: PRICE, OVER $1000.00...OUR PERSONAL MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO DO THE JOB BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT WAS SHORT LIVED AND HAPPENED AGAIN. WE WENT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING ABOUT REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY, WE EXPLAINED IT WAS REPLACED BUT NEEDED THE VEHICLE TO BE RECODED...THE GUY SAID THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE, SO WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC, AND HAD IT REPLACED, BUT IT HAPPENED AGAIN...SO WE WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD RECODE THE MONITOR...WHICH WAS DONE...BUT HERE NOW IT HAPPENED AGAIN, PUTTING ME IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION ON TEXAS FREEWAYS....NOW SITTING IN MY GARAGE. I NEED HELP ADVICE ANYTHING THAT WOULD GIVE US A CLUE AS TO WHY SO MUCH TROUBLE WITH A VEHICLE BARLEY 2 YEARS OLD....I DO NOT WANT TO DIE ON TEXAS FREEWAYS.... *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ENTER THE VEHICLE, THE POWER LOCKS AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST AND THE BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING HER TO CRASH INTO A TELEPHONE POLE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HEAD TRAUMA AND BURNS TO THE HANDS. THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES, A HEMATOMA AND BRUISING TO THE LEFT LEG. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,150. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW GOES DOWN EVERY TIME AS EXPECTED, BUT DOES NOT ALWAYS ROLL UP AS EXPECTED. SOMETIMES I HAVE TO WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES BEFORE THE SWITCH WILL DO ANYTHING AT ALL, SOMETIMES I ONLY HAVE TO WAIT A FEW SECONDS. THE AUTO-UP FUNCTION STOPS WORKING FREQUENTLY, AND THE MOTOR FOR THE POWER WINDOW HAS TO BE RESET FOR IT TO START FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AGAIN. THE DEALERSHIP'S FIX TO THE PROBLEM WAS TO SHOW ME HOW TO RESET THE MOTOR INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY FIXING THE WINDOW. IT'S ESPECIALLY PROBLEMATIC WHEN IT'S RAINING OUTSIDE AND THE WINDOW DECIDES IT'S NOT GOING TO ROLL UP, BUT IT DOES IT IN RAIN OR SHINE, SO I KNOW IT'S NOT A PROBLEM OF THE CONTROLS GETTING DRIPPED ON. I BOUGHT THE CAR PREOWNED WITH 40K MILES ON IT, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM, OR IF IT STARTED AFTER I PURCHASED IT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING 50 MPH AT NITE AND WANTED TO DIM MY BRIGHTS FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I PULLED BACK ON THE STEM IN ORDER TO DO SO. AT THAT SAME TIME I LOST MY HEADLIGHTS COMPLETELY. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH BECAUSE IT WAS A DARK NIGHT AND ALL I COULD SEE WAS THE HEADLIGHTS OF THE ONCOMING CAR-- BUT NOT MY ORIENTATION TO THE ROAD. I IMMEDIATELY USED THE BREAK AND EASED THE CAR ONTO THE SHOULDER AND STOPPED. I FOUND THE HEADLIGHT KNOB TURNED TO THE OFF POSITION. I WAS CONFUSED BECAUSE I DID NOT BELIEVE THAT I HAD ROTATED IT MYSELF. THIS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL MORE OCCATIONS IN THE FIRST WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR. EVENTUALLY I REALIZED THAT THE TURN-ON ROTATOR FOR THE HEADLIGHTS IS SO LOOSE, AND FREE-TURNING, THAT THE SIMPLE MOTION OF ACTIVATING OR DEACTIVATING THE BRIGHTS LOCATED ON THE SAME STEM AS THE HEADLIGHTS CAN CAUSE IT TO TURN THE LIGHTS OFF AS AN UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCE. MY HUSBAND AND DAUGHTER EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING SEVERAL TIMES EACH. THEY FELT AS PANICED AS I HAD BEEN WHEN IT HAPPENED TO THEM THE FIRST TIME. NOW WE KNOW THAT IF WE TOUCH THE HEADLIGHT STEM FOR ANY REASON THAT WE MUST BE PREPARED TO TURN THE HEADLIGHT ROTATOR BACK TO THE ON POSITION IMMEDIATELY. THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZZARD THAT COULD BE LIFE-THREATENING. WE ASKED THE DEALER WHO SOLD US THE CAR TO PLEASE SEE IF IT COULD BE FIXED. THEY SAID NOTHING COULD BE DONE. I WOULD NOT GIVE THIS CAR TO AN INEXPERIENCED LOVED ONE TO DRIVE AS THEY MAY PANIC AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY TO THEMSELVES. *TR
I HAD TO ATTEMPT A SUDDEN BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE MADE A WEIRD NOISE. THE VEHICLE THEN STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND STALLED. I CALLED AAA HAD IT TOWED TO TEMECULA CA TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND CHECKED. FOUND OUT THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND MY ENGINE. I HAVE A WARRANTY ON MY TRANSMISSION AND ITS COVERED. THE ENGINE IS NOT APPARENTLY. WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT THE RECALL, NOW THEY REFUSE TO FIX MY CAR OR HELP. *TR
MY CAR THAT I BOUGHT IN 2011 BRAND NEW HAS CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING EVERY OTHER MONTH . IT IS VERY RANDOM AND NO LIGHTS COME ON IN THE CAR. THE LAST TIME MY WIFE WAS DRIVING 35 MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND SHE HAD TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, AND START IT BACK AGAIN. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THEY HAVE DRIVEN IT OVER 140 MILES, SCANNED 4 TIMES FOR FAILURES IN WHICH NONE CAME UP. I COMPLAINED TO THE NISSAN CORPORATION AND THEY SAY ONLY WAIT UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND BRING IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THIS HAS HAPPENED A TOTAL OF 6 TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN THE PAST YEAR. MY CAR HAS ALSO NOT CRANKED UP FOR A TOTAL 10 MINUTES AT A TIME. THIS HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 15 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR. THEY LEAVE ME WITH NO OTHER OPTION THAN TO DRIVE IT AND WAIT. *TR
I CONTINUE HAVING CONCERNS WITH THIS CAR BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WILL BLOW OUT COLD AIR CONTINUOUSLY FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES THEN IT WILL START BLOWING OUT WARM AIR. WHEN I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO BE REPAIRED THEY REPAIR SOMETHING OR CAN NOT SEEM TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP SINCE DAY ONE OF PURCHASE FOR THE SAME THING AND THE CAR IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. THE NISSAN CORPORATION DOES NOT WANT TO CONSIDER IT A LEMON BUT I HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE SEPTEMBER 2, 2011 BOUGHT IT WITH 15 MILES AND HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 3, 2011. THE BRAKE ROTORS WERE NOT SET, THE GAS TANK WIRE BROKE WHEN FIRST PULLED. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR NISSAN TO REALIZE THERE IS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE? *TR
THE MOST RECENT DATE HAS BEEN 10/21/12. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED IN JUNE AND APRIL. WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR WILL COMPLETELY TURN OFF. ONCE PULLED OVER, I AM ABLE TO RE-START IT. THE DEALERSHIP CAN NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA WITH CONTINENTAL C0NTI PRO, SIZE P185/65R15, DOT#P5FP3RN TIRES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR TIRE TREADS WERE WEARING DOWN PREMATURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, WHO STATED THAT THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION THEY DECIDED TO ROTATE THEM. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE VEHICLE WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED WHO OFFERED A PARTIAL REBATE TOWARDS THE COST OF THE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,804.
BROUGHT THE CAR IN AUGUST 2011. AT EVERY SERVICE I WOULD REPORT OF KNOCKING NOISE AS IF THE CAR WAS IN NEED OF OIL. I WAS REPEATEDLY TOLD THAT THERE IS/WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. AGAIN IN AUGUST 2012; I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE NOISE ONE OF THE NEW TECH'S LOOKED AT THE CAR AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MY ENGINE WAS GONE AND THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE IT WHICH THEY DID DO. THE ONLY THING I HAVE TO ASK SHOULD THE WARRANTY START OVER? *TR *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT WOULD RECLINE INDEPENDENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO OFFERED TO REPLACE THE SEAT. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT (WITH A HERTZ RENTAL CAR IN KAUAI HAWAII) AND SWITCHING BETWEEN HIGH BEAM AND LOW BEAM AND TRAVELING AT 40 MPH ALL THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF. THE STALK MOUNTED SWITCH CONTROLS BOTH HEADLIGHT ON/OFF (ROTARY MOTION) AND HIGH BEAM-LOW BEAM WITH BACK AND FORTH STALK MOTION. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND SUCCESSFULLY USING THE HIGH-BEAM LOW BEAM SELECTOR OFTEN, ON THE NEXT CHANGE BETWEEN HIGH AND LOW BEAM THE ROTARY MOTION OF THE KNOB ALSO ENGAGED AND TURNED THE HEADLIGHTS OFF. I HAVE SIMILAR CONTROLS ON MY CAR AT HOME AND THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED. THE ROTARY MOTION OF THE ON / OFF KNOB REQUIRES JUST A VERY LIGHT TWIST AND THE IN-OUT MOTION NEEDED TO CHANGE BETWEEN HIGH AND LOW BEAM ALSO TWISTED THE OFF SWITCH. FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO BRING THE CAR TO A HALT WITH THE BRAKES AND STAY ON THE ROAD. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND VERY FRIGHTENING TO BRAKE FROM 40 MPH IN THE PITCH DARK NOT KNOWING IF THE NEXT INSTANT WAS TO BRING A CRASH. MY WIFE WAS ALSO VERY SHOOK UP. AFTER I STOPPED I FIGURED OUT WHAT HAPPENED. IT WAS PITCH BLACK OUTSIDE WITH NO STREET LIGHTS. THIS CAN KILL SOMEONE!! THE FLUTED SURFACE OF THE ON/OFF KNOB EXACERBATES THE PROBLEM AND MAKES IT EASIER FOR A LIGHT BRUSH WITH A FINGER TIP TO TURN THE KNOB AND HEADLIGHTS OFF. THE VIN I COPIED FROM THE LIHUE AIRPORT HERTZ RECEIPT FOR THE RENTAL. LICENSE NUMBER WAS [XXX], HAWAII .IT WAS A RED COLOR CAR WITH AUTOMATIC SHIFT. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WOULD SPORADICALLY RECLINE WITH FORCE AND WITHOUT ACTIVATION. THE CONTACT HAD RECENT BACK SURGERY AND WAS UNABLE TO DRIVER, THEREFORE HE HAD TO RISE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND WHENEVER THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR, IT WOULD CAUSE HORRENDOUS PAIN TO THE CONTACT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PASSENGER SEAT HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUOUSLY RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND AUTHORIZED THE FIRST SEAT REPAIR BUT WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH ANY FURTHER REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,000 AND THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,800.
NISSAN VERSA 1.6 BASE SEDAN, SPEEDOMETER PROBLEM. SHOWING A SPEED HIGHER THEN THE ACTUAL SO I AM GETTING MORE MILES THEN ACTUAL AND MIGHT RESULT IN THE EARLIER EXPIRATION OF WARRANTY. *KB
I HAVE A MAJOR STEERING ISSUE WITH MY 2009 NISSAN VERSA SL. THE DEALERSHIP, SOUTHERN STATES NISSAN IN RALEIGH NC, HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE VEHICLE 4 TIMES, BUT HAS FAILED. WHEN MAKING RIGHT TURNS I EXPERIENCE CLUNKING, POPPING, AND VIBRATIONS AT LOW SPEEDS. THE SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN SATISFACTORY BECAUSE I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN THE CAR BACK ON FOUR SEPARATE OCCASIONS, AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. I HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY VERSA FOR MORE THAN A YEAR, AND I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VERSA MAKES A SLIGHT "THUNK" NOISE WHEN MAKING SLOW RIGHT HAND TURNS, AND I CAN ALSO FEEL IT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT SEEMS MORE PREVALENT WHEN LEAVING A PARKING LOT OR DRIVEWAY, WHEN I TURN RIGHT (OR MOVE THE WHEEL BACK RIGHT AFTER A LEFT HAND TURN, TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE CAR). ALL THESE ISSUES ARE ACTING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS DRIVING SLOWLY AND MAKING RIGHT TURNS, AND MORE SO WHEN GOING UP OR DOWN ELEVATIONS, IT HAPPENS VERY LOUDLY AFTER THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BEEN ROTATED FROM THE FULL CLOCKWISE (RIGHT HAND TURN) AND IS BEING RETURNED TO THE STRAIGHT AHEAD POSITION. THE CLUNK IS ALWAYS THERE AT 1 TO 1 1/4 TURN FROM THE FULL CLOCKWISE STOP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2011 NISSAN VERSA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE ROD FRACTURED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHILE TRAVELING 25 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEEL BELT WAS VISIBLE ON BOTH FRONT TIRES. THE CONTACT DID NOT HAVE THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BUT IT WAS RETURNED TO THE VEHICLE RENTAL COMPANY. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,386.
