Timing belt and engine stopped working. Mechanic says needs engine replaced
No warning and approximately 80,000 miles -the timing needs replaced. Mechanics state this is common with this model and they recommend a new engine replace the original engine. This car has under 100,000 miles on it. The cost of the repair is out of my means. The car is paid off, however, I cannot afford the repair. Is there anything that can be done?

Issue with the condensation/water getting inside our HID headlights. Have replaced once and now they are both full of water again. Dealer refuses to cover as a defect. VERY expensive to repair. Huge safety issue because lights can fail at any time going down a dark road! Safety to thers as they may not see me coming.

MY PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AND DID KNOW TILL I GOT A TICKET. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A REPAIR SHOP FOR REPAIR TWO TIMES AND THEY FOUND THAT IT IS NOT SEALED PROPERLY. THERE IS CORROSION UNDER THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY DUE TO IT COLLECTING WATER. HOW CAN THIS BE FIXED I HAVE HEARD THAT THIS IS A BIG ISSUE PLEASE ADVISE ON WHAT CAN BE DONE TO HELP EVERYONE AFFECTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT EVERY TWO WEEKS HE WOULD CHECK THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS NO VISIBLE LEAKS FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE OIL WAS TOPPED OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. COCHRAN BUICK GMC OF ROBINSON (5200 CAMPBELLS RUN RD, PITTSBURGH, PA 15205, (877) 338-4077) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. MY VEHICLE BATTERY WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE AFTER SEVERAL REPLACEMENT BATTERIES THE VEHICLE BATTERY IS COMPLETELY DRAINED OVERNIGHT AND WILL NOT START. I MUST GET A BOOST WITH CABLES OR THE BATTERY HAS TO BE COMPLETELY RECHARGED OR REPLACED
WATER SEEMS TO BE LEAKING IN HEADLIGHTS, CAUSING BLOWOUT HEADLIGHT HID.
THE 2012 BUICK REGAL CONSUMES A QUART OR MORE OF OIL IN LESS THAN 2 WEEKS OR 300 MILES. I AM PUTTING A QUART IN IT JUST TO GET IT TO READ ON THE DIP STICK AND MORE IF NEEDED. AS IT CONSUMES OIL, THE ENGINE GAINS A NOTICABLE TICKING NOISE WITH A ROUGH START. ALL OF THIS IS NOTICED WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY OR RURAL ROAD. THE BACK RIGHT TIRE AND OR TIRE AREA MAKES A THUMPING NOISE AT ALL SPEEDS. THE TIRE IS NOT THE ISSUE. THE STABILITRAK WARNING LIGHT COMES ON OFTEN . I AM THE 3RD OWNER TO THE CAR WITH WITH 164,333 CURRENT MILES. THE CAR HAS HAD ROUTINE OIL CHANGES ETC BY ALL OWNERS.
BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. MECHANIC TOLD ME I NEEDED NEW BALLAST.
CONDENSATION/WATER GETTING INSIDE HID HEADLIGHT OPTION TF4
CONDENSATION IN HEADLIGHT CAUSING THE BULB TO QUIT. GET NEW BULB FOR $150, CHANGE BULB, IT RAINS, IT HAPPENS AGAIN. AM TOLD A NEW ASSEMBLY IS $1500. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. SEEMS LIKE IT SHOULD BE FIXED BY BUICK.
IN THE 2 YEARS I'VE OWNED THIS VEHICLE, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH REAR TURN SIGNAL BULBS 4 TIMES. THE SOCKET LOOKS MELTED. ON OCTOBER 3, 2020...THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT ADJUSTMENT STOPPED WORKING. IT CAN RECLINE BACK, BUT NOT RETURN TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION
MY HID HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS A SEAL LEAK, CAUSING MOISTURE TO FORM IN IT EVERY MORNING WHICH RESULTS IN THE HEADLIGHT ELECTRICAL AND HEADLIGHT TO BURN OUT. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS THE DRIVERS SIDE, NOW THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONSEQUENCE IS THAT INADEQUATE LIGHTING MAY REDUCE THE VISIBILITY OF THE DRIVER, THUS INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN UNDER THE MANUFACTURE WARRANTY. *TR
BRAKE PEDAL WILL NOT RETURN FULLY AFTER IT IS APPLIED WHEN IT IS WARM AND HUMID. CAUSES BRAKE PEDAL TO STICK AND NOT ALLOW CRUISE CONTROL TO BE SELECTED. THE STUCK PEDAL ALLOWS THE CAR TO BE STARTED AND PLACED INTO GEAR WITHOUT A FOOT ON THE PEDAL. DID FIND THAT GM HAS NOT ONLY ISSUED A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE DESCRIBED ISSUE BUT HAS ISSUED MULTIPLE REVISIONS TO COVER ADDITIONAL VEHICLES EACH TIME. GIVEN THAT THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE BY THE MANUFACTURE, THIS SHOULD WARRANT A SERIOUS LOOKING INTO A RECALL ISSUE. TSB # PIC5692D DATED 05/11/2018 IS THE FOURTH REVISION AND THE ORIGINAL TSB PIC5692 IS DATED JULY, 2012. TSB PIC5692D EVEN STATES THAT A PRODUCT REVIEW IS REQUIRED. *TR
HID DRIVER HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY BECAME FULL OF CONDENSATION AND STOPPED WORKING. QUOTE FROM DEALER TO REPLACE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY IS $1800.
HID DRIVER HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY BECAME FULL OF CONDENSATION AND STOPPED WORKING. QUOTE FROM DEALER TO REPLACE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY IS $700 PLUS LABOR.
BOTH HEADLIGHTS LET WATER FROM RAIN IN. BOTH HID BULBS HAVE BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. I'VE HAD HEADLIGHTS GO OUT AT NIGHT. HAD TO PARK CAR AND CALL SOMEONE TO COME PICK ME UP. GM NEEDS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED FROM THERE HEADLIGHTS GOING COMPLETELY OUT AT NIGHT AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
MY BRAKE PEDAL ALWAYS GET STUCK DEPRESSED DOWN IN HOT HUMID WEATHER. YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO DRIVE WITH TWO FEET TO LIFT PEDAL WHEN TIME TO ACCELERATE. MY DRIVER SEAT ALSO GOES IN AND OUT WHEN TRYING TO ADJUST THE SEAT. IT WILL NOT MOVE UNLESS I PLAY WITH THE POWER ADJUSTER A FEW TIMES THEN IT WILL MANEUVER. MY RADIO ALSO TURNS OFF AND ON BY ITSELF WITH BLUETOOTH IS CONNECTED OR SOMETIMES THE RADIO WOULDN'T TURN ON WITH CAR RUNNING OR TURN OFF WHILE CAR IS OFF.
RIGHT HID HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY CONTAINS MOISTURE AND PREMATURELY WEARS OUT BALLAST. EVEN AFTER REPLACING BALLAST AND REMOVING MOISTURE IT HAS SLOWLY STARTED TO REAPPEAR ON THE INSIDE OF THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT NOTICED CONDENSATION IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT AND THAT THE FUSE WAS BLOWN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.
I GOT A 2012 BUICK REGAL I BROUGHT IT JULY 2018 MY CAR WAS DIED OUT OF NOWHERE ABOUT 5 MONTHS PRIOR LIST AND THEN AFTER I CHANGED MY OIL MY CAR DIDN'T GO ANYMORE IT SOUNDED LIKE A CHAIN THE FIRST NIGHT AFTER THEY CHANGE THE OIL AND THEN THE NEXT DAY I DROVE IT FOR 2 HOURS I DON'T KNOW IF THE TIMING IS OFF OR WHAT
VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN A "POP" NOISE WAS HEARD, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWED BY THE CAR SHUTTING DOWN. THERE WAS NO WARNING OR SYSTEM ERROR LIGHTS ON AND NONE TURNED ON. THERE WAS NO POWER OR BRAKES AVAILABLE IN THE VEHICLE. UPON ATTEMPTING TO COAST VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE AREA, 2 PEOPLE DRIVING BY YELLED TO GET OUT, AS THERE WERE FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE. THE ENTIRE FRONT OF THE CAR INCLUDING THE ENGINE ENGULFED IN FLAMES. AREA FIREFIGHTERS WERE CALLED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. TOTAL LOSS OF VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH ON STAR SERVICES AND A MONTHLY REPORT IS RECEIVED SHOWING ANY ISSUES OR CONCERNS WITH THE VEHICLE. UPON RECEIVING THE REPORT ON JULY 27, 2019 THERE WERE NO ISSUES REPORTED EXPECT A LOW TIRE PRESSURE.
CONDENSATION ISSUE IN DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT.THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT AS THOUSANDS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE. THE ENTIRE HID HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY COST $1,320.95 AT THE DEALER WITHOUT TAXES. THIS IS APPALLING TO ME THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS PROBLEM WHEN CLEARLY THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. MY CAR DID NOT EVEN HAVE 45,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT.
POWER SEAT BUTTONS WORK OFF AND ON. MY DRIVERS SEAT WAS RECLINED AND NOW WONT GO BACK UP, I CHECKED MY VIN AND NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN ISSUED ON IT. DANGEROUS TO DRIVE I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON 2012 BUICK REGAL POWER SEATS BUT NOT ON MY VIN.I HAVE AN APPT WITH THE BUICK DEALER TO FIX. WHICH WONT BE CHEAP.
CODES P0016 P0017 DTC P0299 UNDER TURBO BOOST P0010 - FLUID LEAK FROM TRANSMISSION - STABILITRAK LIGHT ON AND OFF (2017, 2018, 2019)- { I PAID TO HAVE THE ISSUE FIXED AND LESS THAN A YEAR LATER IT HAPPENS AGAIN} CAR WILL NOT PICK UP SPEED - CRANK / CAM POSITION NOT PLAUSIBLE - TIMING CHAIN STRETCHED /STUCK.( POPPING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER MY SEAT IN 2017)THESE ARE ALL ISSUES THAT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING. I AM GETTING ON THE ON RAMP FOR THE HIGHWAY AND MY CAR WILL NOT GO PASS 35 MPH FOR OVER 15 SECONDS, EVEN IF I FLOOR IT. THERE IS ON COMING TRAFFIC DOING 60 TO 70 MPH AND THAT IS A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION. I HAVE NO WAY OF MOVING TO AVOID BEING HIT. MY CAR WILL STALL WHEN I TRY TO DRIVE AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP LIGHT.
SINCE I PURCHASED AND DROVE OFF FROM THE DEALERSHIP, WITHIN THE FIRST FEW DAYS THE CAR SHUT DOWN ON ME WHEN I WAS IN A DRIVE THRU, AND IT HAPPENED TIMES AGAIN WHILE PULLING OUT A PARKING SPACE AND DROVE A FEW FEET AWAY THE CAR WOULD SHUT OFF AND BEGAN SMELLING OF GAS AS WELL OVERTIME I DROVE IT. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT VERY HELPFUL BUT FINALLY KEPT MY CAR A FEW DAYS AND SAID IT WAS ONLY THE HOSES WHICH WERE LOOSE. NOW 4/24 MY CAR AGAIN IS MAKING WEIRD NOISES SINCE LAST WEEK AND ACTUALLY WILL NOT START THIS EVENING AFTER BEING OUT AND PARKING IN A LOT.
BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER HEADLIGHTS CONSTANTLY SHOW CONDENSATION/WATER IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AFTER IT RAINS. AT ONE POINT, THE CONDENSATION CAUSED THE PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE HID BALLAST, AN LOSS OF HEADLIGHT. IN VIEWING A BUICK REGAL FORUM, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS MODEL CAR AND GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM. VEHICLE CAN BE STATIONARY OR MOVING. RAIN CAUSES THE FAULTY HEADLIGHT SEALS TO SHOW THE PROBLEM.HAPPENS ON A REGULAR BASIS WHEN IT RAINS. IMAGES TO LARGE TO SEND.
FOR THE PAST YEAR MY VEHICLE IS CONSUMING A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL. I HAVE TO ADD 2.5 QUARTS AFTER 1500 MILES OR SO. GENERAL MAINTENANCE IS ALWAYS DONE. IT WILL STALL AT STOP LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS. WE HAVE CHANGED THE CAM SHIFT SENSORS AND SOLENOIDS DUE TO THE CODES THROWN. MY VEHICLE IS STILL USING 4 QUARTS BEFORE 3,000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN AT A STOP LIGHT ON HIGHWAY 34 AND MY CAR JUST STOPPED WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE. I WAS IN PEORIA AT A STOP LIGHT GOING UP HILL AND MY CAR STALLED 4 TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO START. ALL MY GAUGES JUST DROP. MY OIL LIFE DOES NOT READ PROPERLY IT ALWAYS SAYS I'M OVER 50%. I CHECK MY OIL REGULARLY JUST TO TRY AND PREVENT ANY OTHER ISSUES COMING ARISE.
TAMARA RECALL I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS WATER IN THE FRONT LEFT HEADLIGHT AND AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE BULB BURNT OUT. WHEN I TOOK THE LIGHT OUT THE WATER RAN DOWN INTO THE BALLAST THIS THE SECOND HEADLIGHT THAT I HAVE BROUGHT AND THE SAME PROBLEMS EXIST. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY DRIVING ON A BACK DARK ROAD I DID RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM AND I NOTICED EVERYBODY WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. GM HAD DISCONTINUED THE HEADLIGHT BECAUSE THEY WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. I THINK THEY SHOULD REPLACE THESE HEADLIGHTS AS IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN
AT ROUTINE OIL CHANGE APPOINTMENT (71000 MILES) PLUS MY CONCERN TO CHECK OUT A NOISE DURING COLD STARTUPS, BUICK DEALERSHIP TECH NOTED NO OIL ON DIPSTICK. THEY RECOMMENDED OIL CONSUMPTION TEST, DISCUSSED POSSIBLE NEED TO REPLACE PISTONS @ $3200 AND TOLD ME TO RETURN IN 1000 MILES TO REASSESS. ON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS LIT (NO WARNINGS/LIGHTS/ DRIVING PERFORMANCE ISSUES PRIOR TO LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP THAT DAY), I IMMEDIATELY TURNED AROUND AND THEY RE-RAN DIAGNOSTIC SCREEN, REPORTED TO ME THAT IT REPORTED NOTHING DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE RUN EARLIER THAT DAY, TOLD ME AGAIN TO RETURN IN 1000 MILES. APPROX 100 MILES LATER, MY ENGINE SUFFERED CATASTROPHIC DAMAGE, LEAVING ME STRANDED AT A STOPLIGHT INTERSECTION. I FEEL LUCKY THAT THIS HAPPENED IN A SAFE TOWN IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, AND WHILE I WAS AT A STOPLIGHT. THEY AGAIN FOUND NO OIL ON DIPSTICK, AND MAJOR ENGINE DAMAGE ,MY DEALER GAVE ME OPTIONS FOR REPLACING THE ENGINE WITH A NEW ($6300, 3 YEAR WARRANTY), OR REBUILT ($5000, NO WARRANTY) ENGINE. I HAVE DONE OIL CHANGES ALWAYS AS RECOMMENDED BY ONBOARD MONITORING SYSTEM. SEEMS THAT MAYBE THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL OR CONSUMER ALERT ISSUED ON THIS LONGSTANDING ISSUE FOR THESE GM CARS, NOT JUST A CLANDESTINE BULLETIN THAT ONLY NOTIFIED DEALERS OF THIS PROBLEM FOR VEHICLES WITH LONG OIL CHANGE INTERVAL RECOMMENDATIONS. VERY DISAPPOINTED 55 YEAR OLD LADY.
CAR BURNS 1 QT. OIL/ 1000 MILES EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION REQUIRES PISTONS AND RINGS TO BE REPLACED --- MANY GM 2.4 LITER ENGINES HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THIS FIRST HAPPENED UNDER WARRANTY BUT WE DID NOT REALIZE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS UNTIL THE 5 YEARS WAS JUST PASSED. HOWEVER IT WAS STILL UNDER 60,000 MILES WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR AN "OIL CONSUMPTION TEST".
BRAKE PEDAL STICKS AND STAYS DEPRESSED WHEN VERY HOT OUTSIDE AFTER SITTING. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. ITS HAPPENED TWICE TO ME ALREADY AND NO SHOP CAN FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IT WILL WORK FINE AFTER PULLING PEDAL UP OR DRIVING WITH SHAKING STEERING WHEEL UNTIL IT WORKS ITSELF OUT. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FIX.
VEHICHLE PURCHASED IN OCTOBER 2017 WITH 35K MILES. HAS ALWAYS HAD A VIBRATING NOISE WHILE SITTING AND IDLING. IT WILL GET WORSE AFTER THE CAR IS DRIVEN/HEATED AND THEN IDLED. BRAKES HAVE ALWAYS HAD A VERY LOUD SCREACHING NOISE. TAIL LIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. BULBS WERE CHANGED AND THEY HAVE WORKED SINCE. HOWEVER, THE HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. BULBS WERE CHANGED WITH NO SATISFACTION. FUSES WERE CHANGED AND BLEW EVERY TIME. TOOK VEHICLE TO MECHANIC SHOP - DIAGNOSED. BRAKES ARE OK. PER HIS WORDS, JUST CHEAP SETUP. (THIS WAS HOW I PURCHASED THE CAR, I'VE NEVER REPLACED THE BRAKES SINCE PURCHASING), THE TENSIONER PULLEY WAS CAUSING THE VIBRATION. PULLEY AND BELT (STRETCHED) WERE CHANGED, HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY'S (BOTH) NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AS THEY WERE NOT GETTING POWER ($1600.00 EACH!!! THE BALLASTS WERE BAD), ALSO HAD MY HIGH PRESSURE LINE FOR A/C CHANGED AS THAT QUIT WORKING AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND "REDUCE SPEED" WAS DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 20 MPH AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND THAT SPEED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN AND THE SENSOR RODS WERE FAULTY. A DEALER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED WITH CASE NUMBER: 8-4544663121 BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 121,000.
CAR GIVING A CODE OF ELECTRICAL CONTROL MODULE GCM .L HAVE THE CODE P 0062
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT CAUGHT FIRE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING. THE CONTACT NOTICED FLAMES COMING FROM THE SEAT. THE CONTACT MANAGED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FIRE AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS WERE ALSO PRESENT AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE SEAT HARNESS AND EIGHT WAY POWER SWITCH WERE DIAGNOSED AS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,527.
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE STABILITRAK - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT / MULTIFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT COMING ON AT RANDOM TIMES (THE ON STAR DIAGNOSTIC REPORT DOESN'T GIVE ANY INDICATION OF WHATS GOING ON WITH THE CAR SO THAT REGULAR PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND BEFORE GOING IN TALKING TO A DEALER ABOUT THE ISSUE) - POWERTRAIN ISSUES I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE MY BATTERY WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR I WAS TOLD IT WAS NEWER AND SHOULDN'T HAVE ISSUES. MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT IS FULL OF WATER. THERE HAVE BEEN SO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR YET NO RECALLS HAVE BEEN FOUND ON MY PARTICULAR CAR. I READ REVIEWS FROM OTHERS AND THE 2012 BUICK REGAL JUST SEEMS TO HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS CONSUMERS SUCH AS MYSELF SHOULD BE ENTITLED TO A HUGE PORTION OF CASH PAID FOR THE DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A SAFE FAMILY CAR BUT IT JUST DIDN'T TURN OUT THAT WAY. I WAS AFRAID TO TAKE MY FAMILY IN MY CAR FOR 6 MONTHS BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW IF I WOULD WE WOULD BE STRANDED. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO A CERTIFIED DEALER TO GET IT REPAIRED IT WAS WORSE MY CAR SHOOK WHILE I DROVE. BUICK JUST ISN'T THE CAR FOR ME OR ANYONE UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO CREATE A SAFE CAR. AESTHETICALLY NEWER MODEL BUICKS ARE NICE BUT MECHANICALLY THEY ARE A BUST.
BRAKE PEDAL STICKS WHEN VEHICLE IS HOT OR WEATHER IS HOT AND/OR HUMID
TIMING CHAIN STRETCHED AND RUINED THE ENGINE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DEPRESS. THE ABS AND BRAKE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED SEVERAL TIMES. THE DEALER (FREMONT CHEVROLET BUICK GMC, 1401 N FEDERAL BLVD, RIVERTON, WY 82501, (307) 240-3110) DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TOOK PICTURES OF THE FAILURE, WHICH SHOWED THAT A BOLT FRACTURED AND IMPACTED THE ENGINE AND BRAKING SYSTEM. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY SIX MONTHS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
GENERAL MOTORS DENIES THAT MY CAR VIN NUMBER DO NOT APPLY TO 13V173000, RECALL DATE 05/06/2013, COMPONENT ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AND RECALL CAMPAIGN NUMBER IS 13136 DESPITE, KEY BUICK PERFORMED REPAIRS ON MODULE 2.560, THE VEHICLE DRIVER SEAT (MOVES UP/ DOWN, AND FORWARD/BACKWARDS) WHILE I AM DRIVING, RADIO SYSTEM (RADIO TURNS OFF AND ON, AND CAN BE TURNED OFF AND ON WITHOUT KEYS IN THE IGNITION), INDICATORS (NOT WORKING). HOWEVER, ALL PROBLEMS STILL EXIST.
MY BATTERY SEEMS TO BE LOSING CHARGE. THEN IT WILL COMPLETELY DIE. WHEN I CHARGE IT ON A BATTERY CHARGER FOR A WHILE IT WOULD HOLD THE CHARGE FOR A A COUPLE OF DAYS THEN DIE AGAIN. I HAD THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, AND STARTER CHECKED AND MACHANIC STATED THAT THEY ARE ALL WORKING GOOD. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY. THE DRIVERSIDE POWER CONTROL BUTTONS WORK ON AND OFF. SOME DAYS THEY WORK AND OTHERS THEY DONT, ALMOST LIKE A SHORT. THIS ALSO HAPPENS RANDOMLY.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT 70MPH AND CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ALMOST CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND DASH BOARD WENT HAYWIRE BRAKES LOCKED AND SERVICE STABILIKTRACK SYSTEM AND ABS ASSIST WARNINGS AND IT SMELLED LIKE MY CAR WAS ON FIRE BRAKES LOCKED STEERING AND LOST POWER TOTALLY SHUT DOWN GLAD SOMEONE WAS IN CAR TO HELP ME STEER TO SIDE OF ROAD OUT OF TRAFFIC HAD TO HAVE TOWED AND THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM BEFORE APPARENTLY GM DIDNT GET IT RIGHT I COULD HAVE DIED AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPAIR PROBLEM SINCE THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD IT DONE BEFORE I PURCHASED IT AND THERE ARE OTHER OWNERS HAVING SAME ISSUES AGAIN
TAKATA RECALL I NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE LIGHT KEEP GETTING CONDENSATION IN IT I NOTICED THAT EVERYBODY WHO HAVE THE GS MODEL HAS CONDENSATION IN CAUSING THE BALLAST TO FILL WITH WATER AND CAUSING THE BULB TO BURN OUT AND THE BALLAST AND BULB HAVE TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF WATER ENTERING INTO THE HEADLIGHT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. WHILE DRIVING, THE INTERIOR LIGHTING TURNED ON AND OFF WITHOUT WARNING. ADDITIONALLY, THE RADIO SPONTANEOUSLY TURNED ON AND OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
TRUNK LID OPENS ON IT'S OWN. THIS HAPPENS WHEN PARKED, BUT IT OPENED AT LEAST [OR WAS DISCOVERED OPEN] WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. BLOCKING THE REAR VIEW. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 10 TIMES. THIS HAS ALLOWED SNOW AND RAIN TO ENTER THE TRUNK. I THINK THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE REMOTE TRUNK RELEASE WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CONTENTS OF THE CAR AND THE CAR ARE OPEN TO THEFT. THE DEALER AND BUICK ARE KNOW ABOUT THIS BUT DO NOT ACT LIKE THIS IS IMPORTANT THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL DATES,I PURCHASED THE CAR IN FEB 2013 THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS IN JULY OF 2016. THE CAR HAS 20500 MILES ON IT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS AND HEADLIGHTS STOPPED WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND REPAIRED. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A VOLTAGE DRAINAGE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
THE CAR HAD NO ELECTRICAL POWER. ANYTHING ELECTRICAL WOULDN'T WORK. WE COULDN'T REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY, PUT WINDOWS OR ANYTHING. THE SECOND TIME I TRIED TO USE THE VEHICLES SELF JUMP START BUT NOTHING WOULD WORK. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO POWER IN THIS CAR AT THIS TIME. MY WIFE SAID AT ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS SHE DID SMELL A BURNING ODOR. WE ALSO HAD THE DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER STOP WORKING. IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN AFTER THE CAR WAS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED. WE FEEL WE ARE DRIVING A FIREBOMB WAITING TO HAPPEN AND DO NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS CAR ANYMORE. CURRENTLY ITS AT A GM DEALER AND THEY ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHATS WRONG WITH THIS CAR. BEST PART IS THE DEALERS DON'T WANT THIS CAR BACK AS EVIDENCED BY THE LOW TRADE IN VALUE THAT WAS OFFERED.
DIFFICULT TO SHIFT MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN COLD WEATHER, ALONG WITH GEAR NOISE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER ON JAN 16, 2015 AND ALL THEY DID WAS GIVE US A COPY OF GM'S CORPORATE BULLETIN 03-07-29-004I: MANUAL TRANSMISSION OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS (DEC 19, 2014). THIS DOCUMENT TOLD US TO SHIFT SLOWLY IN COLD WEATHER, BUT THEN WE CANNOT SHIFT IT AT ALL. TOOK VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER ON FEB 20, 2015. THE SERVICE MANAGER TEST DROVE IT AND AGREED THERE WAS A SHIFTING ISSUE. THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS MUCH EASIER TO SHIFT. UNFORTUNATELY, WE NOW HAVE A VIBRATION IN 2ND GEAR. *TR
BRAKE PADS RUSTED TO THE ROTORS, AFTER HAND-WASHING THE VEHICLE THE EVENING OF JULY 2ND. NEEDED TO REV THE ENGINE VERY HIGH, IN ORDER TO RELEASE THE BRAKE PADS. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN THE RAIN, AND THEN LETTING IT SIT FOR A DAY OR TWO. ON JAN 16, 2015 WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR WARRANTY WORK, BUT THE DEALER DID NOT DO ANYTHING. ON FEB 20, 2015 WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER, BUT AGAIN THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING. *TR
"SERVICE STABILITRAK" LIGHT AND MESSAGE CAME ON WHEN DRIVING VEHICLE IN COLD WEATHER. THIS OCCURRED 3 SEPARATE TIMES IN JAN-FEB 2014. TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR WARRANTY WORK ON JAN 16, 2015, BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES WITH "STABILITRAK." ON FEB 11, 2015, THE "SERVICE STABILITRACK" LIGHT AND MESSAGE CAME ON AGAIN. IT STAYED ON FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS THIS TIME. TOOK VEHICLE TO DIFFERENT DEALER ON FEB 16TH, BUT THEY INSTRUCTED US TO BRING IT BACK ON FEB 20TH. RETURNED VEHICLE TO DEALER ON FEB 20TH, BUT AGAIN THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIND ANY ISSUES WITH "STABILITRAK." *TR
2012 BUICK REGAL. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE WHEELS AND BRAKE PROBLEMS. *SMD THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER, THE WHEELS WERE SQUEAKING, BECAUSE THERE WAS MOISTURE AND CONDENSATION ON THE ROTORS.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DECELERATING FROM 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE VIOLENTLY JERKED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL DIFFERENT DEALERS. THE FIRST DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHILE THE SECOND STATED THAT THE SHIFT ADAPTER NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE WORSENED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
VEHICLE TURNS OFF WHEN GOING IN REVERSE. VEHICLE ALSO MAKES WEIRD SPUTTERING NOISE WHEN STARTED. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN 2011 BUT DEALERS CAN NEVER REPLICATE THE PROBLEMS! *TR
OUR NECKS BEGAN TO HURT ABOUT A FEW WEEKS AGO. BEFORE THEN WE HAD NOT DRIVEN THE CAR OFTEN OR FOR LONG DURATIONS. THEN THE MORE WE WERE IN THE CAR, E.G. A 5 DAY TRIP TO AND FROM NEW ORLEANS, THE MORE WE HAD NECK DISCOMFORT. INITIALLY WE THOUGHT IT COULD BE OTHER ACTIVITY BEING THE CAUSE. BUT TODAY, AFTER SEEING INFORMATION AND ILLUSTRATIONS ON THE INTERNET, WE FEEL THAT THE ANGLE OF THE HEADREST ON THE SEAT BACKS IS IMPROPER AND THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. WHAT TO DO? IS THERE A "RECALL" ON THIS MATTER? SINCERELY, *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING PULLED TO THE LEFT INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT NO CAUSE OF FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
ON DECEMBER 12, 2012 , SHORTLY AFTER SUNSET, MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING ON A RURAL ROAD AT ABOUT 30 MPH. I WAS IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I REACHED OVER TO SWITCH THE RADIO FROM SIRIUS TO FM, BUT INADVERTENTLY HIT THE ENGINE ON/OFF BUTTON, LOCATED ABOUT 2 CM FROM THE RADIO BUTTON. WHEN I HIT THE BUTTON, THE ENGINE WENT OFF, WE LOST ALL INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL LIGHTS, AND THE CAR SLOWED DRAMATICALLY. IT WAS TERRIFYING. WE MANAGED TO PULL THE CAR TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. HAD WE BEEN ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, A MAJOR COLLISION AND PILE-UP LIKELY WOULD HAVE FOLLOWED. WHEN WE REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE DEALERSHIP, IT INITIALLY CLAIMED THE CAR'S INTERNAL CONTROLS WOULD PREVENT THE ENGINE FROM TURNING OFF WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING BUT SUBSEQUENT DEALER TESTS DISCLOSED EVEN A SLIGHT TOUCH OF THE POWER BUTTON SHUT OFF ALL POWER. I REPORTED IT TO BUICK AND BUICK ASKED THE DEALER TO RECONFIRM THE TESTS, WHICH IT DID. THE DEALERSHIP SEEMED VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY PROBLEM BUT SAID BUICK NEEDED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. BUICK SAID THE CAR OPERATED AS DESIGNED AND THERE WAS NOTHING MORE IT COULD DO. I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH BUICK'S RESPONSE; NOR SHOULD THIS AGENCY. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE, I WAS GIVEN NO WARNING ABOUT THIS POTENTIALLY LIFE THREATENING HAZARD. ALTHOUGH THE DRIVERS' MANUAL CONTAINS MANY HIGHLIGHTED WARNINGS, IT ONLY MENTIONS THE ENGINE SHUT OFF IN PASSING. QUOTING 9-18 OF THE DRIVERS' MANUAL: "DO NOT TURN OFF THE ENGINE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING. THIS WILL CAUSE A LOSS POWER ASSIST IN THE BRAKE AND STEERING SYSTEMS AND DISABLE THE AIRBAG." NOTHING ELSE WAS SAID. THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE PRIMARY CONTROL FOR RADIO CHANNEL SELECTION TO THE POWER BUTTON, AND THE POTENTIALLY LETHAL CONSEQUENCES OF INADVERTENTLY HITTING THE POWER BUTTON IS AN INHERENTLY DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW. THE LACK OF EXPLICIT WARNINGS EXACERBATES THIS ALREADY SERIOUS PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE BUT THE WARNING LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE TECHNICIANS WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WEEKS LATER WHERE THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A DAMAGED SPARK PLUG. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND ESCALATED HER CASE STATING THAT THEY WOULD REMAIN IN CONTACT WITH THE CONTACT. IN THE INTERIM, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO MAKE A RUMBLING NOISE WHEN SHE MADE TURNS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,135 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 9,200.
AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I FOUND THERE IS NO COMPACT SPARE TIRE AND WHEELS FOR THE GRAND SPORT VERSION OF THE 2012 BUICK REGAL ANYWHERE I COULD FIND. THEY ONLY PROVIDE AN INFLATER KIT. MY LAST 3 FLATS COULD NOT BE REPAIRED WITH THE INFLATER BECAUSE OF THE TYPE DAMAGE. NO WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION THAT I HAVE OBTAINED STATED THIS FACT. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE HAVE FAMILY IN THE MIDDLE OF PENNSLYVANIA AND HAVE TO TRAVEL THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS WHERE THERE IS NO CELL PHONE CONDUCTIVITY (THAT ELIMINATES THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE) A REGULAR TRIP IS FOR THANKSGIVING AND WE HAVE EXPERIENCED SOME EXTREME WEATHER DURING SOME OFF THESE TRIPS WITH MINIMAL TRAFFIC DUE TO THE WEATHER. THEREFORE WE COULD HAVE A FLAT AND BE STRANDED DURING A SNOW STORM. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION.. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RPMS IDLES HIGH AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 45MPH. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE DOORS FAILED TO UNLOCK WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL AND AS A RESULT, SHE HAD TO USE THE KEY TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE BUT DECIDED TO REPROGRAMMED THE VEHICLE COMPUTER SYSTEM AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION. THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,200.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 BUICK REGAL GS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE INDICATOR STICKER, LOCATED ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR, SPECIFIED TO INFLATE THE TIRES TO 80 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE TIRE MANUFACTURER, WHO STATED THAT THE TIRE LABEL INFORMATION WAS INCORRECT AND THE CORRECT TIRE PRESSURE WAS 38 POUNDS PER SQUARE INCH. THE MANUFACTURER OF THE VEHICLE WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220.
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON 7 MARCH 2012 AND SHORTLY AFTERWARDS I WAS CHECKING IT OVER AND SAW THAT THE BACK OF THE HEADLINER WAS HANGING DOWN ABOUT AN INCH OR SO. I TOOK IT INTO THE THE GARAGE WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND THEY HAD THEIR REPAIR PERSON CHECK IT OUT. THEY FIRST TRIED TO USE DOUBLE SIDED STICKY TAPE AND IT DID NOT WORK SO THEY WENT TO THE HEAD OFFICE OF BUICK TO TRY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ON 10 APRIL I TOOK THE CAR BACK IN AND THEIR FIX WAS TO STICK SMALL MAGNETS TO THE ROOF AND ALSO TO THE HEADLINER AND THEN SNAP THE MAGNETS TOGETHER. I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY MAGNETS THEY USED BUT THE HEADLINER IS LOOKING OK FOR NOW. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THIS FIX WILL LAST OR IF THE HEADLINER SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. GUESS WE WILL NEED TO WAIT AND SEE. *TR
THE INTERIOR CENTER CONSOLE HAS A BRUSHED CHROME TRIM AROUND THE OUTSIDE AND A MIRROR FINISH CHROME BEZEL DIRECTLY SURROUNDING THE GEAR SHIFTER. I FIRST REALIZED IT TO BE A CONCERN WHEN I WAS DRIVING DIRECTLY INTO THE SUN, AND THE SUNLIGHT REFLECTED OFF THE MIRROR IMAGE CHROME BEZEL, UNDER MY DARK SUNGLASSES, AND DIRECTLY INTO MY EYES, MOMENTARILY BLINDING ME. AS SOON AS I REALIZED WHERE THE BLINDING LIGHT CAME FROM I REMOVED MY RIGHT HAND FROM THE STEERING WHEEL TO BLOCK AS MUCH OF THE GLARING LIGHT AS POSSIBLE. I HAD TO KEEP MY HAND IN THE SAME POSITION UNTIL I TURNED, AND THE SUNLIGHT NO LONGER REFLECTED OFF THE CHROME BEZEL. I HAVE CONTACTED BUICK CUSTOMER RELATIONS ABOUT THIS AND WAS TOLD THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING OR EVEN CONSIDER IT TO BE A PROBLEM UNLESS A RECALL IS ISSUED, WHICH THEY WON'T DO BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CONSIDER IT A PROBLEM. *JS

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2012-2013 Buick Regal, 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2010-2013 Buick Lacrosse vehicles sold or ever registered in Connecticut, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, or Wisconsin. These vehicles may have rear toe links that received excessive electrocoating (e-coat) corrosion protection, which could cause the e-coat to become brittle and break away when contacted by road debris. Over time, the e-coat may chip away, exposing the metal toe link and making it more susceptible to corrosion. Corrosion may eventually cause the toe link to thin and ultimately to fracture.
