IN 6/2018, I DISCOVERED THAT MY CAR WAS BEGINNING TO CORRODE ABOVE THE WHEEL WELL ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE (MY CAR WAS STILL 5 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME OF THE DISCOVERY, BUT OVER 100K MILES). WITHIN ONE WEEK, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER--AT WHICH I PURCHASED IT NEW IN 2012--WHO CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS INDEED CORROSION AND INDICATED ON THE WRITTEN ESTIMATE THAT THE "HEM FLANGE WAS NOT PROPERLY SEALED FROM FACTORY CAUSING CONTAMINANTS TO ENTER AND START CORROSION ON THE LEFT QUARTER PANEL." THE DEALER QUOTED ME $3,000 TO REPAIR THE QUARTER PANEL. IN 6/2018, I CALLED GM CUSTOMER SERVICE. I WAS DENIED ASSISTANCE FOR THE COST OF THE REPAIR FROM THE CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGERIAL LEVEL. IN ABOUT 7/2018, I CONTACTED GM EXECUTIVES, WHICH RESULTED IN A DENIAL OF ASSISTANCE FROM THE CHEVROLET EXECUTIVE RESOLUTIONS TEAM. IN 8/2018, I MADE A BBB COMPLAINT AND AS A RESULT RECEIVED CONTACT FROM GM'S BUSINESS DIVISION, WHO ALSO ULTIMATELY DENIED ME ASSISTANCE. MOREOVER, THE BBB HAS INDICATED THAT MY CAR IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE AUTO LINE PROGRAM DUE TO # OF YEARS OLD. I ALSO RECENTLY MADE A STATE OF MI ATTORNEY GENERAL REFERRAL. I WILL UPLOAD THE PACKET THAT I SENT TO THE BBB WHICH CONTAINS MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF THE DOCUMENTATION I HAVE TO DATE (NOT INCLUDING THE BBB DENIAL).

WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 30 MILES PER HOUR AND THE MY STABILITRAK LIGHTS CAME ON, ALONG WITH ALL MY TRACTION AND BRAKE LIGHTS. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THAT, I LOST SPEED AND IT SOUNDED LIKE I RAN OVER SOMETHING. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 88K MILES ON IT. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN AROUND TO GO BACK HOME AND MY CAMARO SHUT COMPLETELY OFF. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE CAR BUT IT WOULD NEVER TURN OVER. I HAD MY CAR TOWED HOME SINCE THE DEALERSHIP WAS ALREADY CLOSED. I TRIED ONCE MORE CRANK IT BUT THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT TURN OVER, I JUST GOT A CLICK CLICK CLICK. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT DURING THAT WEEK TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER IN THE AM. I WAS CALLED MIDDAY AND WAS ADVISED THAT MY ENGINE WAS SEIZED (OR LOCKED UP). WHEN I INQUIRED HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN WITHOUT WARNING OR INDICATION, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NEEDED TO BREAK DOWN THE MOTOR TO SEE IF THERE WAS A DEFECT AND IT WOULD COST ME $1200. OTHERWISE A NEW ENGINE WITH INSTALLATION WOULD COST ME $7K OR A USED ENGINE WITH 55K MILES INSTALLED WOULD BE $6090.00(HUH???). I RARELY DRIVE MY VEHICLE SO IN THE PAST YEAR, I MAY HAVE PUT A 1K MILES ON IT. JUST 3 WEEKS AGO I HAD THE OIL CHANGED WITH A 40 POINT INSPECTION. I AM PUZZLED AS TO WHY, IF MY CAR WAS HAVING AN ISSUE, WHY DID THE COMPUTER NOT READ OR REPORT IT AT THAT TIME. ALL OF MY SERVICING HAS ONLY COME FROM ONE DEALERSHIP SINCE I HAD IT. THIS ISSUE IS CLEARLY DANGEROUS AND I SEE THAT OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME THING HAPPENING TO THEM. PLEASE RECALL THIS ISSUE. NO CAR SHOULD EVER JUST TURN OFF. WHAT IF I HAD BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND GOTTEN RUN OVER BY A BIG INDUSTRIAL TRUCK. THERE WOULD BE NO ONE TO TELL WHAT HAPPENED. MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF THOSE IN MY CAR COMES FIRST. KNOWING THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT COULD EVENTUALLY COST THE MANUFACTURER GRAVELY IN THE LONG RUN. NHTSA NUMBER 14V34600 WAS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED BY ANOTHER DRIVER.

I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER WITH A FLUID LEAK AT TH PASSENGER REAR SIDE OF THE CAR.. IT WAS VERY MINOR, PRODUCING ONLY A SMALL "BASEBALL" SIZED STAIN IN MY DRIVEWAY OVER A 3 MONTH PERIOD. FLUID WAS GREASY AND STICKY. THE DEALER REPORTED THAT THE CLAMP FOR THE FILLER TUB WAS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED BUT RHE FACTORY. THEY SAID THEY REPAIRED IT BY REMOVING AND RECLAMPING IT ON. ONCE I RETURNED HOME WITH THE CAR, I HAD A WHOLE NEW PROBLEM. GAS NOW LEAKS OUT ON MY DRIVEWAY ANYTIME THE TANK IS ABOVE ONE-FOURTH FULL. THE FLUID ON THE DRIVEWAY IS DISTINCTLY GAS, WHEREAS BEFORE, IT DID NOT HAVE THE ODOR OR APPEARANCE OF GAS. IT WAS STICKY, MORE TACKY LIKE A GREASE. I RETURNED TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT I HAVE A CRACKED GAS TANK. THEY WILL NOT ADMIT THAT THEY INADVERTENTLY CRACKED IT DURING THE PREVIOUS REPAIR. THIS ONLY LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT CHEVROLET HAS AN INHERENT ISSUE WITH THEIR GAS TANKS IN THAT THEY WILL CRACK WITHOUT CAUSE BY THE DRIVER. THIS CAR WAS A CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED CHEVROLET. IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 23,200 MILES ON IT AL THE TIME AND THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED DUE TO TIMING: THE 24 MONTHS WAS OVER IN APRIL 2018. THE "CRACKED" GAS TANK WAS DISCOVERED IN AUGUST. PLEASE REVIEW. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE.

ACCORDING TO THEM IN ORDER TO FIX WHAT IS TRIGGERING THE INDICATOR WILL COST AROUND 700.00 INCLUDING PARTS FOR A NEXT PART AND LABOR. I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO BE DEALING WITH AIRBAG ISSUES ON A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE A WARRANTY THAT JUST SO HAPPENS NOT TO COVER THIS PART. WHEN I CALLED THE WARRANTY COMPANY THEY DID STAY THEY COVERED ANYTHING DEALING WITH THE COMPUTER WHICH I THOUGHT THIS DID.

MY 2012 CAMARO CONVERTIBLE DEVELOPED LEAKS (HOLES) IN THE WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF THE CONVERTIBLE TOP. THE DAMAGE APPEARS TO BE DONE BY THE ROOF MECHANICAL SYSTEM. DEALER REPORTS THIS IS A 20 HOUR JOB AND WILL COST A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE. MY CONTENTION IS THAT THE DESIGN AND BUILD OF THE CONVERTIBLE ROOF IS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE HOLES IN THE WATER MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND GM SHOULD HOLD SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS. THE WHOLE INTERIOR AND ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS ARE AT RISK OF FAILURE AND CREATES A SAFETY RISK TO DRIVER AND OCCUPANTS SHOULD THE WATER GET TO THE ELECTRIC SEATS OR ANY ELECTRIC WIRING UNDER THE CARPET.. ALSO RENDERS THE CAR UNSELLABLE.

THEY FIRST SAID MY RECALL NOTICED EXPIRED AND WHEN I CALLED ANOTHER TIME THEY SAID THE RECALL HAD BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. I WAS NOT EVER ONCE NOTIFIED BY THE DEALER THAT THEY "FIXED" A RECALL. I HAD SOMEONE RUN THE DIAGNOSTICS TEST ON FRIDAY AND IT SAID IT WAS THE DRIVER'S AIRBAG SHORTENING BAR (RECALL# 12661). I SPOKE TO GM AND THEY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP I GO TO AND THE DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX IT. THEY SAID I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THEY JUST WANT THEIR MONEY! THIS IS AN OBVIOUS MANUFACTURER ISSUE THAT THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD TAKE CARE OF! MY SAFETY DOES NOT CONCERN THEM. THE RECALL SPECIFICALLY SAYS IF THE BAR AND TERMINALS ARE CONTACTING EACH OTHER AT THE TIME OF A CRASH NECESSITATING DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRIVER'S FRONTAL AIRBAG, THAT AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY, INCREASING THE DRIVER'S RISK OF INJURY. THE DEALER SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS ISSUE! MY SAFETY SHOULD BE THEIR PRIORITY!

Summary

VEHICLE WOULD NOT START; REPAIRED AND THEN SYMPTOM HAPPENED AGAIN. SAID TO BE A FAULTY WATER BLADDER DESIGNED TO REMOVE LEAKING WATER FROM CONVT TOP IN THE TRUNK AREA, CAUSED BY TWO BUTTONS ON THE CONVERTIBLE TOP MISSING. DEALER SUGGESTED USING A CAR COVER TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. PROBLEM: THE DESIGN IS FLAWED AND THERE IS NO NOTICE THAT SOMETHING THIS DANGEROUS COULD HAPPEN. WHEN THE ELECTRICAL PARTS FAILED, (ENTIRE WIRE LOOM WAS COMPROMISED WITH NO WARNING!) NO SAFETY ITEMS WOULD WORK. IF VEHICLE WAS ON MAJOR HIGHWAY, DEATH WOULD PROBABLY OCCUR. VEHICLE(S) SHOULD BE RECALLED AND NEW SYSTEM DESIGNED TO ELIMINATE WATER INTRUSION. I UNDERSTAND FROM INTERNET THIS IS AN ONGOING SAFETY PROBLEM. I WAS CHARGED $ BECAUSE WATER LEAKS ARE NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. DUE TO A DESIGN FLAW AND NO NOTIFICATION FROM THE COMPANY OF THE DANGERS OF THIS DESIGN FLAW; NO MENTION ANYWHERE IN THE OPERATIONS MANUAL REGARDING THE LOCATION OF THE? BUTTONS? OR THE WATER BLADDER, OR THE CHANCE THAT THE VEHICLE COULD BECOME DISABLED DUE TO THE DESIGN FLAW. THIS VEHICLE, WITH THIS PROBLEM COULD HAVE SHUT DOWN ON ANY OF THE MANY HIGHWAYS I DRIVE LEAVING ME, OR WORSE, MY WIFE IN DANGER AND POWERLESS WITH NO WARNING OF ANY PROBLEM. WHEN THE WIRE LOOM IN MY CAMARO AND FUSE BOX FAILED, ALL BRAKE LIGHTS AND ALL OTHER POWER FAILED. THIS REMINDS ME OF AN INCIDENT YEARS AGO ON THE PENNSYLVANIA/NEW JERSEY WALT WHITMAN BRIDGE WHERE A NEW FORD PRODUCT WAS RUN OVER AND ALL FOUR OCCUPANTS KILLED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER. THE CAUSE WAS FOUND TO BE A BAD COMPUTER MODULE.

AS MY 2012 CAMARO HAS BEEN ISSUED A VIN RECALL, I WANT TO LET CHEVROLET, THE PUBLIC AT LARGE AND MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP IN COLORADO THAT I AM UTTERLY DISGUSTED WITH THE OFFERED TREATMENT OF THIS RECALL STATED AS "REMEDY: DEALERS ARE TO PROVIDE TWO REPLACEMENT KEY RINGS. VEHICLES WITH SLOTTED KEYS WILL ALSO RECEIVE KEY INSERTS." MY REASONS FOR NOT BEING SATISFIED WITH THIS DESCRIPTION IS BECAUSE HAVING MY KEYS CUT OFF THE REMOTE CONTROL AND GIVEN SECONDARY KEYS AS ANOTHER THING TO KEEP TRACK OF IS NOT WHAT WAS PAID FOR WHEN PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. WHY SHOULD I SETTLE FOR A FIX (THAT IS SUBSTANDARD TO WHAT ORIGINALLY CAME WITH THE VEHICLE)? WHY SHOULD I SETTLE FOR WHATEVER GM DECIDES TO GIVE ME AS REPLACEMENT IN ORDER FOR THEM TO COMPLY WITH THAT WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE COMPLIED WITH TO BEGIN WITH? IN MY EYES, CHEVROLET IS SEEKING A QUICK FIX IN ORDER FOR THEM TO SAVE DOLLARS AND WHAT DO I GET IN RETURN FOR THE THOUSANDS I PAID THEM? I GET A SUBSTANDARD REPLACEMENT OF A NECESSARY ITEM. A COSMETIC DEBACLE SO THAT CHEVY CAN COMPLY WITH THE 465,000 VEHICLES THEY CONTINUED TO ALLOW ON THE ROAD "AS IS" UNTIL CAUGHT BY THE LAW. NOW I ASK, WHAT WILL THIS DO TO THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE DOWN THE ROAD? CHEVROLET OWES ME EXACTLY WHAT I PAID FOR: BRAND NEW IGNITION WITH BRAND NEW REMOTE CONTROL KEYS JUST AS THEY ARE WHEN PURCHASED WITH THE VEHICLE. A REMEDY SHOULD BE AN IMPROVEMENT NOT INSTEAD, 3 STEPS BACKWARD. I AM THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED ABOUT THIS RECALL REMEDY AND WITH CHEVROLET'S POOR DECISION MAKING VALUES. *TR

I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO CLASSIC CHEVROLET GRAPEVINE DEALERSHIP AFTER NOTICING WHILE I CHANGED MY BRAKES THE WEEK BEFORE, THERE WAS AXLE GREASE SCATTERED ALL OVER THE REAR OF MY RIM, HUB, AXLES, AND BRAKE COMPONENTS. AFTER INSPECTION, IT WAS DETERMINED THE CV BOOT HAD LET GO ON THE INSIDE SEAL NEAR THE HUB WHERE THE WHEEL MOUNTS. MY CAR IS TWO YEARS OLD AND ONLY HAS 42600 MILES. I HAVE ALSO HEARD FROM SEVERAL OTHER CAMARO OWNERS ON FORUMS AND IN PERSON DISCUSSIONS. FAILURE OF THE AXLE BECAUSE OF IMPROPER LUBRICATION TO THE AXLE CONNECTION CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH SHOULD THE AXLE FAIL WHILE DRIVING. CAN YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AND DETERMINE IF A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED. THANK YOU! *TR

AS I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 85 MY CAR SUDDENLY LOSS POWER IT DID NOT CUT OFF COMPLETELY BUT IT FELT LIKE THE CAR WAS SHUTTING DOWN. IT SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 40 MPH AND IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ANY FASTER. LUCKILY I WAS CLOSE TO WORK AND TOOK THE STREET ROUTE AND MADE IT TO WORK. THE ENGINE LIGHT DID COME ON AND IT SAID IT WAS LOW ENGINE POWER. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED WITHIN 3 MONTHS. I CALLED ONSTAR THE FIRST TIME AND THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC WHICH CAME BACK SAYING SERVICE ENGINE WITH SOME OTHER DYNAMICS I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND. ONCE I GOT TO WORK AND CUT THE CAR OFF I CUT IT OFF THEN TRIED TO START IT AGAIN TO SEE IF IT WOULD RESET ITSELF BUT THIS TIME IT WOULDN'T START. CALLED CHEVY AND THEY SAID TO WAIT A COUPLE HOURS AND TRY IT AGAIN OTHERWISE I WOULD NEED TO TOW IT THERE. I WAITED TWO HOURS THEN CHECKED AND IT CRANKED RIGHT UP AND ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF, CALLED CHEVY BACK AND THEY SAID IT PROBABLY WAS JUST COMPUTER PROBLEMS. NOW THIS IS HAPPENING AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON FOR THREE DAYS. BUT AGAIN IT WENT AWAY AFTER THAT. I'M STARTING TO THINK THAT ITS JUST SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINE AND NEXT TIME I WONT BE SO LUCKY. *TR

Summary

WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD, THE AIR BAG CURTAINS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY DEPLOYED. I WAS NOT IN A CAR ACCIDENT, I WAS NOT TURNING ANY CORNERS, I DID NOT HIT A BUMP, NOTHING. I WAS ONLY DRIVING DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE PLACE OF PURCHASE (JOHN L SULLIVAN IN ROSEVILLE, CA) BECAUSE IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN THE SERVICE TECH CALLS ME BACK, THEY ADVISE THAT THEY ARE GETTING CODES FROM THE BLACK BOX THAT THE CAR HAS BEEN TAMPERED WITH AND/OR HAS HAD THIRD PARTY PARTS INSTALLED. THIS IS A BUNCH OF CRAP BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE ANYTHING INSTALLED OTHER THAN THE LOJACK THAT THEY INSTALLED FOR ME AND THE REPLACEMENT OF A PART (I'M NOT SURE WHAT IT WAS) THAT WAS CAUSING MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON EVEN THOUGH I ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 3 WEEKS, WHICH ONCE AGAIN THEY ALSO INSTALLED. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THEM ON 4/18/14 FOR AN OIL CHANGE, I LET THE SERVICE TECH KNOW THAT MY SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON AND HE ADVISED THAT I WILL NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME BACK ANOTHER DAY BECAUSE IT TAKES 2-3 HOURS JUST FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE BUT THAT ITS PROBABLY JUST A BAD SENSOR (BASICALLY BLOWING IT OFF LIKE IT WAS NO BIG DEAL). SO I SAID OK AND KEPT DRIVING IT WITH THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT ON BECAUSE HE MADE IT SEEM LIKE IT WAS NO BIG DEAL. I ALSO DO NOT LIVE NEAR THE DEALERSHIP AND USE THIS CAR TO GET TO AND FROM WORK EVERYDAY SO I WAS ALSO WAITING FOR A CONVENIENT TIME FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO TAKE AND LEAVE THE CAR WITH THEM FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. I AM NOW BEING TOLD THAT I NEED TO GO THROUGH MY INSURANCE TO GET THE REPAIRS PAID FOR. THIS IS WRONG! JOHN L SULLIVAN AND/OR GM IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AND NEED TO COVER THE REPAIRS UNDER MY WARRANTY OR THEY NEED TO GIVE ME A NEW CAR. I AM ALSO EXPERIENCING CHEST PAIN CAUSED FROM THE INCIDENT AND WILL BE GOING TO THE DOCTORS TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT TODAY. *TR

MY 2012 CAMARO HAD A LEAK AT THE MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR! ONE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT AND SAID THEY WOULD MAIL ME A CAP! I REFUSED AS THIS WOULD VOID THE WARRANTY!TOOK TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED AND REPLACED CAP! ABOUT 10K LATER THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND LOST MY BRAKES!DEALER ORDERED A NEW RESERVOIR AND REPLACED IT! I TOOK THE CAR HOME AND FOOT KEPT GOING TO THE FLOOR! BROUGHT CAR BACK AND DEALER SAID IT WAS FINE.THEY REFUSED TO LET ME SPEAK TO A TECH OR SERVICE MANAGER!BROUGHT TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THE CALLED GM.THERE WAS NO BRAKE PRESSURE AND NO WARNING LIGHTS ON! THEY TOOK OFF MASTER CYLINDER AND REBLED SYSTEM! LESS THAN 100 MILES LATER I WENT OUT TO START CAR AS I BEEN SICK AND DIDN'T WANT A DEAD BATTERY AND FOOT WENT RIGHT TO THE FLOOR! I OPENED HOOD AND RESERVOIR WAS SOAKED AND BRAKE FLUID SPRAYED ONTO THE POSITIVE JUMPER CABLE, LEAKED UNDER MASTER CYLINDER AND YOU CAN SEE THAT THERE WAS A SPRAY PATTERN DIRECTLY FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER! FLUID IS BEING FORCED OUT AND AIR BEING SUCKED BACK IN! CAR WILL BE TOWED BACK TO DEALER! LAST TIME THEY CLAIMED PREVIOUS DEALER OVER FILLED RESERVOIR AND THAT'S WHY THERE WAS NO PRESSURE! A SLIGHTLY AS THEY SAID OVERFILLED MASTER CYLINDER WILL NEVER CAUSE A NO BRAKE PRESSURE ISSUE! SOUNDS LIKE THEY WERE TOLD WHAT TO WRITE BY GM LEGAL DEPARTMENT! FRONT BRAKES ALSO GRIND WHEN THERE IS PRESSURE AND CAUSING ROTORS TO BE GROOVED! SO SAD THAT THEY DON'T CARE THAT THIS IS A LIFE AND DEATH ISSUE! *JS

Summary

I PURCHASED MY 2012 CAMARO IN AUGUST OF 2012. IT WAS BRAND NEW, 0 MILEAGE WHEN I BOUGHT IT. SINCE I HAVE HAD IT, THERE HAVE BEEN NO ISSUES...UNTIL TODAY. I WOKE UP TO DISCOVER THAT MY ENTIRE CAR WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES, ALSO SPREADING THE FIRE TO ANOTHER VEHICLE. BOTH VEHICLES ARE NOW TOTALED. THE FIRE DAMAGE WAS SO EXTENSIVE THE CAMARO IS BASICALLY A BURNED FRAME. ALL OF THE GLASS AND BODY MELTED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT DEEMED THERE WAS NO FOUL PLAY, AND IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING ONLINE TO SEE IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER SIMILAR INCIDENTS, BUT I HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING YET. I DON'T KNOW IF MINE WAS JUST DEFECTIVE OR WHAT THE SCENARIO IS, BUT THIS DEFINITELY NEEDS MORE RESEARCH! *TR

Summary

DURING ACCELERATION, THE ENGINE HESITATES AND BEGINS TO CHOKE. WHEN IT ATTEMPTS TO SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF. I WAS ALMOST IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THIS ISSUE. TOOK CAR TO CHEVY DEALERSHIP AT 845AM THE NEXT MORNING AND THE MECHANICS COULD NOT GET ANY TYPE OF ANSWER TO ME UNTIL 2PM. I WAS TOLD THEY WERE ON THE PHONE AND LAPTOPS WITH TECH'S SOMEWHERE ELSE IN THE U.S. THE GUESSED DECISION, WAS SOME SORT OF CAN/AM OR CAM SENSOR. THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY THERE WERE FIVE ERROR CODES FROM THIS ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE MECHANICS WERE INSTRUCTED TO START FIXING THIS ISSUE, BY REPLACING THE SENSOR AND THEN RUN ANOTHER DIAGNOSTICS ON THE VEHICLE. I HAVE TO WAIT THREE DAYS FOR THE PART TO COME IN AND WAS TOLD THIS MAY EVENTUALLY NOT BE THE CORRECT FIX TO THIS ISSUE. IKNOW HAVE TO WAIT. LUCKILY MY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY COVERS THIS PART AND LABOR BUT I HAVE TO PAY A ONE HUNDRED DOLLAR DEDUCTIBLE TOWARDS THE COST PER THE CONTRACT. *TR

Summary

I HAVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH MY STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND WAS IN A TURN WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL KICKED BACK THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION I WAS TURNING AND I NEARLY WENT OFF THE ROAD. THE FORCE WAS SO GREAT THAT IT ACTUALLY INJURED MY SHOULDER WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL KICKED BACK. THE STEERING IN THE CAR HAS SINCE BEEN SO SLOPPY THAT I AM SCARED TO DRIVE IT, THE CAR IS ALL OVER THE ROAD. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE ALIGNED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL TIRE STORE AND THEY CHECKED THE ALIGNMENT WHICH WAS ALL IN FACTORY SPECS. TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER TEST DROVE WITH A TECHNICIAN WHO DROVE WITH ME AND HE STATED IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT AN ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. I LEFT THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER FOR 3 DAYS AND GOT A CALL THAT IT WAS READY TO BE PICKED UP. WHEN ASKED WHAT WAS DONE I WAS TOLD NOTHING...THE CAR NEEDS TO BE ALIGNED. I HAD THEM ALIGN THE VEHICLE WHICH BY THE WAY DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP BEFORE THIS CAR KILLS ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. *TR*LN

Summary

IN MAY, STARTED TO FEEL A VIBRATION/SHIMMY OF SOME SORT WHEN ACCELERATING IN ALL SORTS OF SPEEDS. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE. VIBRATION/SHIMMY CONTINUED AND GRADUALLY BECOME MORE FREQUENT SO TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALERSHIP IN JUNE IN WHICH THE TECH TEST DROVE AND WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. WAS TOLD HE WAS NOT THE TRANSMISSION EXPERT SO THEY HAD THE SO CALLED TRANSMISSION EXPERT TEST DRIVE AND HE WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THE VERY NEXT DAY AND IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE FLUSHED DUE TO METAL SHAVINGS IN THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE HAD CONTINUOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION SINCE THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION IS HESITATING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE SPEED, IT SLAMS INTO GEAR, DOWNSHIFTS WHEN ITS NOT SUPPOSE TO AND THE VIBRATION IS SLOWLY STARTING TO COME BACK. DEALERSHIP IS CLAIMING THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE TYPE OF TRANSMISSION I HAVE AND ITS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. *TR

Summary

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
