TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND MAKING A RIGHT TURN, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING ASSIST AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT CALLED TOWNE FORD OF REDWOOD CITY (1601 EL CAMINO REAL, REDWOOD CITY, CA 94063, (650) 366-57440) ABOUT HAVING THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED, AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WOULD BE A FEE ASSESSED TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER MIKE WHO IS AT THE SCOTTSDALE, AZ LOCATION AT AUTONATION. I HAD MY VEHICLE WORKED ON THERE A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO. I PAID $1600 FOR REPAIRS; I WAS INFORMED AT THAT TIME THAT THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT WAS NOT OPERATING PROPERTY. I KNEW THE LIGHT WAS ON FOR A WHILE, BUT I DID NOT REALIZE THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT WORK. I ASKED WHEN I PICKED THE VEHICLE UP AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED, WHEN THE SENSOR WILL BE IN. MIKE INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD CALL ME. EVER SINCE I LEFT THERE, NO ONE HAS CALLED TO GIVE ME AN UPDATES ON THE PARTS BEING ORDER. I CALLED 5 TIMES, INCLUDING CALLING MARSHALL WHO WAS MY SERVICE ASSOCIATE WHO PROVIDED NO RESPONSE. I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS GOING TO WRITE A BAD REVIEW BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN CALLING FOR WEEKS AND NO ONE WAS PROVIDING ME ANY ANSWERS, AND HIS RESPONSE WAS RESPONSE WAS, 'I'LL LOOK FORWARD TO THE BAD REVIEW.' THIS CLEARING SHOWS THAT MIKE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT MY SAFETY OR ANYONE ELSE WHO IN IN MY VEHICLE, INCLUDING MY CHILD. I HAVE BROUGHT SEVERAL FORD VEHICLES AND FEEL THAT I TRUST THE MECHANICS AND FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN LET DOWN DUE TO THE UNCARING DEMEANOR THAT MIKE AND MARSHALL NOT RESPONDING TIMELY TO ADDRESS SAFETY CONCERNS. I FEEL THAT AT THIS POINT, MY FAMILY AND I ARE NOT PROTECTED WITH A VEHICLE THAT WE ENTRUSTED IN FORD TO PROVIDE US SAFETY WHICH WE ARE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. ADDITIONALLY, I TRULY FEEL THAT I'M GETTING TREATED THIS WAY BECAUSE I'M AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN WOMAN LIVING IN SCOTTSDALE, AZ IN THE YEAR OF 2020 AND I STILL FEEL THAT RACISM IS STILL ALIVE AND TRULY HAVE ENCOUNTERED HERE AT AUTONATION. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I FEEL THAT FORD HAS A LOT OF EMPLOYEES WHO VALUE CUSTOMER'S LIVES, BUT THIS PARTICULAR LOCATION HAS SHOWN THEIR TRUE COLORS AS TO HOW THEY STAND FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND SAFETY.
2012 FORD TAURUS. WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR WHILE ITS STATIONARY, THE FCIM (FRONT CONTROL INTERFACE MODULE) MALFUNCTIONED WHICH CAUSED THE DEFROST TO HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. AND THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK.DEALER STATED THAT THE DEFROSTER MALFUNCTIONED AND BLEW HOT AIR AT 90 DEGREES. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AS NEEDING THE FCIM I WAS NEVER GIVING A PRICE FOR THAT PART EITHER AND SPENT 250 DOLLARS ON A POSSABLE IDEA OF WHAT COULD BE WRONG. I NEED TO GET THIS FIXED IT MY WIFE CAR AND SHE DRIVE MY SPECIAL NEEDS DAUGHTER AROUND IN THIS. AND THERE ARE OVER 5000 LETTERS LIKE THIS ALL OVER THE INTERNET IT SEEMS TO BE A FLAW IN THAT FCIM MODULE.
AFTER RESEARCHING, FORD HAS INSTALLED FAULTY WATER PUMPS IN THIS CAR ALONG WITH OTHERS THAT HAVE THE 3.5 ECOBOOST ENGINE. WATER PUMP FAILED ON ME AND SINCE THE WATER PUMP IS INSIDE THE ENGINE YOU DONT REALLY KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO GIVE OUT. LEAKING OF THE COOLANT ON THE HIGHWAY. MY MECHANIC WARNED ME THAT THIS FAILURE COULD LEAD TO COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE WHICH WOULD RESULT IN THE NEED OF A NEW ENGINE. FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THIS!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE RESIDENCE USING THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,136.
ENGINE TEMPERATURE STARTED TO RISE VERY HIGH WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD CITY STREET AND HAD TO PULL OVER. ALL THE ENGINE COOLANT HAD LEAKED OUT BECAUSE OF A FAULTY WATERPUMP THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS FAILED TO RECALL ON ALL THE ENGINES. AS I CAN TELL THE COOLANT DID NOT ENTER THE ENGINE OIL AND DESTROY THE ENTIRE ENGINE TO MY KNOWLEDGE. HOW CAN THE STATE OR THE GOVERNMENT ALLOW THIS TO NOT BE A RECALL AND HAVE FORD REPAIR ALL VEHICLES WHEN THEY FAIL OR BEFORE THEY FAIL TO AVOID PEOPLE LOSING THERE LIFES BECAUSE OF IMMEDIATE ENGINE FAILURE.
WHILE SITTING AT A STOP SIGN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUGHT FIRE BURNING THE TOP OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND HOOD. IT HAPPENED SO FAST I CAN ONLY ASSUME IT WAS FUEL RELATED.
WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING GOT SUPER TIGHT AND HARD TO STEER. DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF ROAD. GOT AN ALIGNMENT IT HELPED BUT TWO DAYS LATER IT WENT BACK TO HARD TO STEER.
THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WITH NO LUCK OF DIAGNOSIS. BUT MY VEHICLE HAS LOST ALL ELECTRICAL FUNCTION LIGHTS, DASH CLUSTER, HEAT, ETC. HAS DONE THIS ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS BUT SEEMS TO FIX ITSELF BUT THEN DOES IT AGAIN. WITH THAT BEING SAID NOW ON TOP OF THAT MY VEHICLE IS STUCK IS NOW STUCK IN ANTI THEFT MODE WHERE THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER DRIVABLE. I CAN NOT START THE VEHICLE, I HAVE HAD KEYS REPROGRAMMED AND THE CAR LOOK OVER MULTIPLE TIMES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO HELP DIAGNOSING THE ISSUE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ON MY OWN AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH NO SUCCESS GETTING THE PROBLEM FIXED. THE FIRST TIME IT OCCURRED WAS 7/01/17 AND HAS CONTINUED OFF AND ON UP TO DATE AND HAS NOW LIKE STATED EARLIER HAS NOW MANIFESTED INTO THE ANTI THEFT NOT ALLOWING CAR TO BE STARTED RENDERING IN NON DRIVABLE AT THIS TIME
TAKATA RECALL.: THE CAR POWER'S DOWN WHILE DRIVING, AIR CONDITION,LIGHTS, SIGNALS SHUTS DOWN, THEFT ALERT COMES ON ALSO. ALL THESE THINGS HAPPENING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IN THE CITY, AND WHILE PARK!!!!!
THE DRIVER'S SIDE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILED TO OPEN THE DOOR TO ALLOW EGRESS. IT HANGS OUT LIMPLY ON ITS HINGES NOT ENGAGING THE DOOR LATCH. TO OPEN THE DOOR, THE WINDOW HAS TO BE ROLLED DOWN AND THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE PULLED UP AS THOUGH ENTERING THE VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM WAS THE SUBJECT OF A PRIOR RECALL SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND THIS VERY SAME INSIDE DOOR HANDLE WAS REPAIRED BY A FORD DEALER.
DRIVING NORMALLY , WHEN SUDDENLY THE STEERING BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. LUCKILY I WAS ON A CITY STREET GOING ABOUT 40 MPH AND I WAS ABLE TO MANAGE THE VEHICLE ENOUGH TO GET IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.
CAR WAS IN MOTION, ENGINE AND WRENCH LIGHT CAME UP AND CAR CAN'T BE ACCELERATED. WE CHANGED THE ENTIRE THROTTLE ASSEMBLY SYSTEM , STILL FAILING, AN NOW WE ARE UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR. IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE IT WILL SLOW DOWN IMMEDIATELY THE LIGHTS COME UP.
I AM UNABLE TO TURN BROUGHT TO A MECHANIC WHO SAID THERE'S A RECALL 1 5V 340000. SET FORD WOULD FIX IT FOR FREE CALL FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY AGREED SET THE RECALL IS ON EDMUNDS FOR THE 2011 THROUGH 2013 TAURUS. CALLED THREE FORD DEALERS WHO SAY IT'S NOT ATTACHED TO MY VIN CALLED THE CUSTOMER SERVICE BACK THEY SAID IT'S SO BROAD BECAUSE OF ALL THE TAURUS IS IT AFFECTED THAT GIVE HIM THE RECALL NUMBER THEY WOULD FIX IT STILL CANNOT GET THEM TO FIX IT NOW SOMEBODY IS HIT MY CAR CUZ I COULD NOT TURN IN MY REAR DOOR HAS A DENT VERY UNSAFE
A COMPLETE FAILURE OF ALL DASHBOARD CONTROLS OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. CONTROLS SUCH AS RADIO, VOLUMN , AC, HEAT, ETC ARE ALL NON RESPONSIVE! HOWEVER, THE CAR CONTINUALLY BLOWS HOT AIR REGISTERED AS 90 DEGREES THROUGH THE VENTS AND BLOWER CAN NOT BE SHUT OFF!. THE CAR WAS PARKED ON A LOT IN SC. THE PROBLEM SURFACED WHEN I STARTED THE IGNITION TO LEAVE, AFTER ATTENDING A MEETING. I CAUTIOUSLY DROVE THE CAR HOME AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER. IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS. YET, THE DEALER CAN NOT GET "BACK-ORDERED" PARTS FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO FIX IT. I CAN NOT /WILL NOT DRIVE THE CAR IN THIS CONDITION. I WONDER WHAT OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS EXIST. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE -- ON A CAR WITH LESS THAN 24,000 MILES ON IT! I HAVE NO CAR TO DRIVE.
CAR STALLED COMPLTLY SHUT DOWN ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE TRAVELING AT 115 KLM AN HOUR IN HOT HUMID WEATHER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VAN BORTEL FORD (71 MARSH RD. EAST ROCHESTER, NY 14445) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000(STEERING). THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
AFTER RECEIVING THE RECALL LETTER , I TOOK THE CAR BACK ON 2015, DEALER HAD IT FOR ABOUT THREE DAYS AND THEY NEVER FIX THE PROBLEM NOW THEY NOT HELPING ME GET THIS MATTER RESOLVED. THE DEALER IS WAYWEST FORD AT IRVING.
DRIVER'S SIDE HEATED SEAT STOPPED WORKING A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. THE LIGHT WOULD GO ON WHEN PRESSED FOR A SECOND THEN SHUT OFF. GOT AROUND TO GETTING IT FIXED. FOUND OUT IT WAS THE HEATING ELEMENT THAT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. HAD IT REPLACED, AND FOUND OUT THE OLD ONE WAS BURNED OUT! SCARY!!
LOSS OF POWER STEERING AT LOW SPEED AND IT MAKES A NOISE WHEN IT DOES TURN.
HEATED SEAT ELEMENT SHORTED, SMOKED, SMOTHERED FIRE IN SEAT. DID NOT COME THROUGH LEATHER SEAT - SMOTHERED WITHIN SEAT. NO INJURIES. WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND SMELLED SMOKE AND THEN HEATED SEAT STOPPED WORKING. PHOTO OF HEATING ELEMENT AND BAR CODE OF SAME IS ATTACHED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, ALL THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS FAILED. THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, WAIT TEN MINUTES, AND RESUME DRIVING. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKES FAILED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

PARTS ARE SOLD OUT AT EVERY AUTO PARTS STORE I CAN FIND, AND ALSO SOLD OUT AT THE VENDORS FOR THE AUTO PARTS STORES. IF THERE ARE NONE TO BE FOUND, IS THIS A PROBLEM?

MY 2012 FORD TAURUS SHO WAS BROUGHT INTO JONES WEST FORD IN RENO, NEVADA. IT WAS AT JONES WEST FOR A POWER STEERING RECALL. WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE BACK HOME THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, FAULTED AND CAUSED A WARNING TO APPEAR, AS WELL AS A COLLISION AVOIDANCE FAULT. AT THE DEALERSHIP IN FALLON, THE SERVICE ADVISOR INFORMED ME THAT THE ACC MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. FALLON COMPLETED THE WORK BUT ON A QUALITY ASSURANCE RIDE TO ENSURE THE MODULE WAS WORKING CORRECTLY, THE TECHNICIANS FOUND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING STEERING INPUTS WITHOUT THE DRIVER TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. THE TECHNICIANS RETURNED TO THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE WHAT HAD CAUSED THE STEERING INPUTS. THEY TRACED THE PROBLEM BACK TO THE ABS CONTROL MODULE AND PUMP, AND ORDERED A BRAND NEW ONE. THEY ORDERED THE ABS MODULE AROUND THE 23RD OF NOVEMBER 2015, BUT DUE TO STOCKING PROBLEMS THE PART DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL AROUND THE 24TH OF DECEMBER. I WAS NOT OFFERED A RENTAL VEHICLE BY THE DEALERSHIP, AN APOLOGY FROM FORD FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY RECEIVED THE PART AND INSTALLED IT, THE TECHNICIANS RAN INTO A PROBLEM WITH THE PCM ACCEPTING THE NEW MODULE, A NEW PROBLEM AROSE; THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER WOULD OPERATE NORMALLY FOR A TIME AND THEN THE LIGHTS WOULD DIM, AND THEN COMPLETELY TURN OFF. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS HOOKED UP TO THE OBDII SYSTEM, IT EVEN SHUT THE DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT DOWN AS WELL. THE TECHNICIANS AT FALLON AUTO MALL REALIZED THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND CALLED A FIELD OFFICE TECHNICIAN IN DENVER FOR ADVICE. HE ADVISED THE TECHNICIANS AND SERVICE MANAGER TO CHECK A FEW DIFFERENT COMPONENTS ON THE VEHICLE BUT, AS OF TODAY THE VEHICLE IS STILL NOT DRIVABLE AND THE TECHNICIANS STILL DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE VEHICLE AND EVEN MENTIONED THAT THE ACC MODULE IS STILL NOT WORKING PROPERLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V040000 (STRUCTURE) WAS RECEIVED IN MARCH OF 2015. AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE GIVEN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THE CONTROLS FOR MY HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM FAILED. THE CENTER CONSOLE WITH THE RADIO AND CLIMATE CONTROLS ARE INOPERABLE HOWEVER, THE HEAT IS STUCK ON 90 DEGREES FULL BLOWER. I DELIVERED VEHICLE TO FORD AUTONATION FOR SERVICE. FORD ADVISES THAT THE FRONT CONTROL INTERFACE MODULE (FCIM) ON MY VEHICLE WAS BAD AND THAT THE PART WAS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER. I REQUESTED THE BLOWER BE DISCONNECTED IN ORDER TO MAKE THE INTERIOR CABIN OF THE VEHICLE TOLERABLE. FORD ADVISED THAT WOULD DO THIS, BUT THERE WAS NO RESULTANT CHANGE IN THE INTERIOR OF THE COMPARTMENT. WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, IN ORDER TO DEAL WITH THE EXTREME AMOUNT OF HEAT POURING INTO THE VEHICLE, I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE SUNROOF OPEN AND THE WINDOWS DOWN TO DRAFT HEAT FROM THE VEHICLE. ADVERSE DRIVING CONDITION INCLUDE: STEERING WHEEL HEATING UP (IT'S NOT A HEATED STEERING WHEEL), THE SMELL OF MELTING PLASTIC, EXTREME HEAT IN THE FOOTBOX OR FLOORBOARD OF THE CAR MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO KEEP MY FEET IN THEIR NORMAL POSITION CLOSE TO THE BRAKE, EXTREME HEAT ON MY FACE CAUSING MY SKIN TO BREAKOUT, OVERHEATING GLOVEBOX, EXTREME PHYSICAL DISCOMFORT DUE TO HIGH HEAT IN THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE, AND DRIVING WITH THE SUNROOF AND WINDOWS OPEN IN THE RAIN WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. THE FAILURE OF THIS PART HAS CREATED A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE LACK OF AVAILABILITY OF THE PART CAUSES ME GREAT CONCERN. THE JUNKYARD DEALER INDICATED THAT HE HAS HAD "A RUN ON THIS PART" AND THAT SUPPORTS MY IMPRESSION THAT DEMAND FOR THIS PART IS UNREASONABLY HIGH. I HAVE NOT YET HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO FULLY RESEARCH FORD'S OBLIGATIONS TO ME AND THE OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD AS IT PERTAINS TO VEHICLE SAFETY, BUT I WILL BE LOOKING INTO FORD'S OBLIGATIONS TO ME AS A CONSUMER AND UNDER THE FEDERAL LAW WHILE I AWAIT YOUR RESPONSE. I HAVE REQUESTED ASSISTANCE IN RESOLVING THIS MATTER AND THEY HAVE NOT YET OFFERED ANY SOLUTIONS.
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND ALL SYSTEMS SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY GOING STRAIGHT. HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE ENGINE STARTED.

THIS CAR STOPPED WHILE DRIVING IT 3 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN 2011. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN IN THE SUMMER ON A WARM DAY WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING ON. IN ALL CASES IT HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AROUND 40 MPH. IT HAPPENED 2 TIMES 2 YEARS AGO AND ONCE IN JUNE 2015. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HINES PARK FORD ON 7/16/15 AND THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THIS CAR STOPPING. I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW AT HINES PARK FORD.
THIS IS ABOUT FORD RECALL 15S02. MY DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE HAS BARELY FUNCTIONED FOR MONTHS, IF IT FUNCTIONS AT ALL. THE CAR WAS LOOKED AT ON MAY 4, AND SUPPOSEDLY PARTS WERE ORDERED, BUT NEVER RECEIVED. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE ON JULY 7, AND ALTHOUGH THEY SAID THEY WOULD RESPOND WITHIN 2 DAYS THEY HAVE NOT YET DONE SO. IT APPEARS THAT FORD HAS LITTLE OR NO INTEREST IN TAKING CARE OF THIS PROBLEM. I HOPE NHTSA CAN MOVE THE COMPANY, OR PENALIZE THEM FOR THIS LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY.

I BOUGHT THE CAR IN 2013 FROM A DEALER IN SOUTH JERSEY WITH 10000 MILES . AFTER A FEW MONTH'S OF DRIVING I STARTED TO NOTICE A SHAKING IN THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES . ABOUT A MONTH LATER AT ABOUT 23000 MILES THERE WERE GRINDING AS WELL. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE WOULD GRIND THE ROTERS. THIS WAS GOOD FOR 3 MONTHS. I WENT BACK AND THEY REPLACED ALL 4 ROTERS AND PADS FOR FREE AS I HAVE BOUGHT MANY CARS FROM THEM. THE CAR NOW HAS 50000 MILES AND THE HOLE BROBLEM IS STARTING AGAIN. A CAR THAT HAS 50000 MILES SHOUL NOT GO IN FOR BRAKES THREE TIMES. THIS LOOKS LIKE A DISIGN PROBLE AND NEEDS MORE ATTETION.

I WAS DRIVING ON I279 AROUND 6:15AM ON JULY1, 2014. MY SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 60MPH. ALL OF A SUDDEN A MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE SCREEN SAYING THERE WAS A POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILURE. AT THAT POINT I IMMEDIATELY LOST ALL POWER TO THE STEERING WHEEL. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT COURSE AND FORTUNATELY I DIDN'T HAVE VERY FAR TO GO UNTIL I COULD PULL OVER AND STOP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. SHORTLY THEREAFTER THE ADVANCE TRACTION CONTROL SYMBOL APPEARED ON THE SCREEN ALSO. *TR
I HAVE A 2012 FORD TAURUS SEL WITH APPROXIMATELY 28,000 MILES. THE BRAKES ARE MAKING A GRINDING NOISE. WHEN I TOOK THE CARD TO THE FORD DEALER, WADE FORD, IN SMYRNA GA, I WAS ADVISED THAT THE BRAKE ROTORS HAVE RUSTED. I WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THIS COULD NOT BE FIXED UNDER WARRANTY. I THINK THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE ROTORS. I HAVE NEVER HAD ROTORS TO RUST. FOR BRAKE ROTORS TO RUST AFTER 2 YEARS AND 28,000 MILES IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND THIS CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 13V109000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DENIAL OF THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE A VERY DEFINITE LINE BETWEEN THE LIT AND UNLIT AREA OF THE ROADWAY AND SURROUNDING AREAS. THIS MAKES FOR A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHERE IN MY AND OTHER POSTERS OPINIONS CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHENEVER DRIVING AT NIGHT. *TR
THE KEYLESS START/STOP BUTTON IS OBSCURED BY THE STEERING WHEEL AND CAN BE INADVERTENTLY TOUCHED WHILE KEEPING ATTENTION TO ROAD AND TRAFFIC.THE BUTTON IN OUR CAR IS EXTREMELY SENSITIVE AND DOES NOT REQUIRE A DELIBERATE PUSH TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF. WHILE DRIVING I WAS TRYING TO ADJUST THE AIR DISCHARGE VENT CONTROL, THAT IS LOCATED DIRECTLY ABOVE THE START/STOP BUTTON.WHEN I PRESSED DOWN ON THE VENT CONTROL MY HAND SLIPPED AND THE HEEL OF MY HAND MUST HAVE CONTACTED THE START/STOP BUTTON. I WAS UNAWARE THE ENGINE WAS OFF UNTIL I REALIZED THE CAR WAS SLOWING AND I HAD NO POWER. NO POWER STEERING AND NO TURN SIGNALS TO LET TRAFFIC KNOW I NEEDED TO MOVE OVER.FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. HAD I HAVE BEEN 50 FT. FURTHER, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO SHOULDER TO MOVE ONTO. I HAD NO IDEA WHAT HAD CAUSED THIS EVENT UNTIL A FEW DAYS LATER.WHILE TRAVELING ON I-90 IN A 3 LANE AREA AT 65 MPH, IN THE CENTER LANE, MY HUSBAND INADVERTENTLY HIT THE START/STOP BUTTON WHILE TRYING TO TURN ON THE RADIO.THERE IS ONLY A 3 1/2 INCH GAP, CENTER TO CENTER OF THESE TWO BUTTONS.HE WAS NOT AWARE HE HAD TURNED OFF THE ENGINE UNTIL HE REALIZED THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN.PLEASE REALIZE TI TAKES MORE THAN A FEW SECONDS TO GATHER YOUR THOUGHTS, TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO RECOVER FROM THIS. AGAIN, YOU HAVE NO POWER STEERING, NO POWER BRAKES, NO TURN SIGNALS. HE TURNED ON THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND MANAGED TO GET US INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND THEN OFF THE HIGHWAY. ALL THE TIME THE CAR IS SLOWING MORE AND MORE, AND YOU HAVE SEMI TRUCKS IN YOUR LANE AND THE ADJACENT RIGHT LANE.WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALER WHERE PURCHASED, THE SERVICE MANAGER TEST DROVE IT AND COULD DUPLICATE ALL OUR CONCERNS AND MORE. #338992. WE ASKED FORD MOTOR CO. TO REPURCHASE, THEY REFUSED, AND HAVE MADE NO OFFER TO DO ANY REPAIR. WHY WOULD A CAR BE DESIGNED THAT YOU CAN SO EASILY STOP THE ENGINE? *TR

I NEARLY HAD AN ACCIDENT AS I CANNOT SEE WELL ON LOW BEAMS, UPPER GAZING AREA. THE SAME THING IS REPORTED BY MANY OWNERS. I STOPPED AT THE DEALER, WE LOOKED AT IT, TRIED THE LIGHTS AND I FIND THERE IS WHAT APPEARS A DOOR TO SHIELD SOME OF THE UPPER AREA OF THE LIGHT BULB SO THAT IT IS DARKER AT THE TOP. I ASSUME IT IS TO NOT BLIND ONCOMING DRIVERS WHILE ON LOW BEAMS. MY WIFE CONSTANTLY COMPLAINS OF THIS TOO, THAT SHE FLAT CANNOT SEE ON LOW BEAMS. IN REALITY, IF YOU WERE DRIVING ALONG THE ROAD AND A DEER WAS ON THE ROAD WITH ITS HEAD UP LOOKING AT YOU, THERE WOULD BE NO "DEER IN THE HEADLIGHTS LOOK" THAT YOU COULD SEE. THIS LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT SYSTEM JUST PLAIN ROTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HYDRAULICS FAILED ON THE HOOD AND THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE. THE REAR TRUNK ALMOST FELL DOWN ON THE CONTACT WHILE RETRIEVING ITEMS FROM THE TRUNK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION OR REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,500. *TR
AFTER ABOUT 6,000 MILES WE BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT THE RIGHT HAND SIDE BLIS SENSOR AND SIGNAL LIGHT INDICATING A VEHICLE IS IN THE BLIND SPOT WHEN NO VEHICLE OR OTHER OBJECT ARE WITHIN THE AREA. OFTEN THE LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. ADDITIONALLY, OCCASIONALLY STARTED TO GIVE FALSE WARNINGS WHEN NO CROSS TRAFFIC WAS IN THE AREA. NOW VEHICLES CAN BE AS CLOSE AS FIVE FEET BEFORE THE CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT WILL SIGNAL TRAFFIC. UPON ORIGINAL PURCHASE THE CTA WORKED AS DESCRIBED. ONLINE OFFICIAL FORD DOCUMENTATION CITES THE BLIS WILL WORK ONLY FOR VEHICLES AND NOT PEOPLE, INFRASTRUCTURE, BICYCLES, ETC. CROSS TRAFFIC ALERT WILL PICK UP VEHICLES APPROACHING FROM 65 FEET AWAY BUT NOT WHEN APPROACHING VEHICLES ARE MOVING FASTER THAN 15 MPH. HTTP://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=WIWHCL1VS4S AND HTTP://MEDIA.FORD.COM/IMAGES/10031/BLIS.PDF WE'VE TAKE THE TAURUS TO THE PURCHASE DEALER WHO KEEPS SAYING THE SYSTEM IS WORKING AS SEEN BY A TECH WALKING BEHIND THE CAR EFFECTIVELY ONLY TESTING THE REVERSE SENSOR SYSTEM BUT THEY WILL NOT TEST FOR CROSS TRAFFIC OR BLIND SPOT SITUATIONS AND THEY KEEP SAYING THAT CANNOT FIX SOMETHING THEY CANNOT SEE AS BROKEN. *TR
WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT IN OUR FORD TAURUS THERE IS A VERY NOTICEABLE HORIZONTAL LINE ACROSS THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD. THIS DIVIDES THE WINDSHIELD IN HALF AND LOOKING THROUGH THE UPPER HALF IS SIMILAR TO LOOKING THROUGH DARK SUNGLASSES AT NIGHT WHILE THE LOWER HALF IS CLEAR. THIS MAKES IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR, ESPECIALLY SOMEONE WALKING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THIS OCCURS ON ROADS WHERE THERE IS NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IF THERE ARE ONCOMING VEHICLES WITH LIGHTS ON THIS LINE DISAPPEARS AND THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD IS CLEAR. IF THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SWITCHED TO THE BRIGHTS POSITION THE LINE ALSO DISAPPEARS. THIS IS SO DISTURBING THAT MY WIFE AND I TRY TO LIMIT OUR NIGHTTIME DRIVING TO OUR OTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE NOTICED THIS COMPLAINT A NUMBER OF OTHER TIMES IN YOUR DATABASE AND YOU CAN FIND THOSE COMPLAINTS HERE: HTTP://WWW.ARFC.ORG/COMPLAINTS/2012/FORD/TAURUS/EXTERIOR_LIGHTING/PROBLEM.ASPX [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD ADJUST TO BRIGHTEN THE HEADLIGHTS. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,800..... UPDATED 03-28-13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE A VERY SHARP SHORT CUT OFF THAT LIMITS VISIBILITY GREATLY. THE CUT OFF PROJECTS A BLACK LINE THAT FLOATS UP AND DOWN ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT IS HYPNOTIC. THE FAILURE IS WITH THE DIM LIGHTS. UPDATED 04/18/2013 *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THEN TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED WHICH DETECTED NO TROUBLE CODES. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASION AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO NEITHER DUPLICATE THE FAILURE NOR LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,700.
03/24/2012. 1ST FAILURE MILEAGE APPROX.1,450: DRIVING ON I-95S AT APPROX. 70 MPH, RAINING CONDITION, WIPERS IN USE, HEADLIGHTS ON. SUDDENLY THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS WENT DARK, WIPERS STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF WINDSHIELD, ENGINE CUT OFF. WAS ABLE TO STEER CAR FROM MIDDLE LANE TO ROAD SIDE AND BRAKED. PUT CAR IN PARK, LIGHTS STILL OUT, ENGINE WOULD NOT START. IN LESS A MINUTE, ON THE MIDDLE INSTRUMENT GAUGE A GREEN LIGHTED MESSAGE DISPLAYED: "POWER ACCESSORIES..." FOR A VERY SHORT TIME. THEN CAR RESTARTED. FORD SERVICES COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM OR ERROR CODE. 08/04/2012. 2ND FAILURE MILEAGE APPROX. 5,360: NICE HOT DAY OF SUMMER. AFTER STOPPING AT A TRAVEL CENTER PARKING LOT, DROVE ABOUT 25 YARDS IN THE PARKING LOT AT APPROX. 10 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTS WENT OUT AND THE ENGINE CUT OFF. CAR WOULD NOT START IN "NEUTRAL" BUT STARTED IN "PARK" POSITION RIGHT AWAY. FORD SERVICES COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM OR ERROR CODE. IN BOTH INCIDENTS, THE PASSENGER WAS ACCESSING THE "MULTI-MEDIA CONSOLE" FOR RADIO STATION OR GPS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE REAR WINDOW SUDDENLY EXPLODED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER REPLACED THE WINDOW. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000. UPDATED 05/31/12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE WINDOW SHATTERED, GLASS SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE, INCLUDING THE FRONT SEAT. UPDATED 06/06/12. *JB
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, AND WITH A PASSENGER WEIGHING 115 POUNDS ON THE PASSENGER SEAT THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN OPERATION. WHEN THE SEATING IS ADJUSTED THE WARNING LIGHT GOES OFF AGAIN. FORD TAURUS DOES NOT HAVE AN INDICATION TO SAY IF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS ACTIVATED OR NOT. EVEN WHEN THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS NOT ACTIVATED (NO PASSENGER IN SEAT) THE AIR BAGS INDICATOR STAYS DARK. SO WHEN A THE PASSENGER IS ON THE SEAT THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW IF THE AIR BAG HAS TURNED ITSELF OFF AS IT DID NOT DETECT THE PASSENGER. IN CASES WHERE THE CAR IS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AN UN ACTIVATED AIR BAG COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS SITUATION AND THE DRIVER HAS NO WAY TO KNOW THE ACTUAL STATUS OF THE AIR BAG. *TR
2012 TAURUS THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2012 TAURUS HAVE A VERY SHARP SHORT CUTOFF THAT LIMITS VISIBILITY GREATLY.THIS CAN ONLY BE EXPERIENCED ON A HIGHWAY OR BACK ROAD WHERE THERE IS NO BACK LIGHTS OR OTHER VEHICLES PRESENT.THE CUTOFF PROJECTS A BLACK LINE THAT FLOATS UP AND DOWN ON THE WINDSHIELD THAT IS HYPNOTIC.IF THERE WAS A BIKE OR PERSON WALKING AHEAD ON THE SHOULDER YOU WOULD NEVER SEE THEM IN TIME.THIS PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY AN EYELID THAT DROPS DOWN OVER THE BULB WHEN IN THE DIM MODE.WHEN USING THE BRIGHTS, THE LIGHTS ARE FINE.BECAUSE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC YOU CANNOT ALWAYS USE YOUR BRIGHT SETTING. THIS PROBLEM IS ESPECIALLY BAD IN THE FOLLOWING SITUATIONS: DOWNHILL; ON CURVES; IN DEER COUNTRY; THIS MAKES DRIVING THE ARKANSAS MOUNTAINS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT.
THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PRODUCE A COMPLETE AND FULL LIGHT FIELD IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE SEVERAL DISTINCT "FINGER SHADOWS" PRESENT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE LIGHT FIELD, RESULTING IN VERY POOR NIGHT VISION. THIS IS COMPOUNDED BY THE VERY DISTINCT UPPER HORIZONTAL "CUT-OFF" OF THE PROJECTED LIGHT BEAM. THE VISIBILITY PROBLEM IS EVEN WORSE DURING RAINY NIGHTS. LOCAL FORD DEALER REPLACED ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES UNDER WARRANTY, PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. *TR
