The dashboard on my 2012 Nissan Quest S is splitting at the edges leaving a gap between 1/16-1/32 wide. The area around the passenger air bag is now outlined and I am concerned it my effect the air bag. This started about a year ago and is getting worse.
Daughter's Quest has a bad CVT transmission. Diagnosis made by independent service center. Check engine light came on. Codes P1700, P0746, & P0868. Unsafe to drive - doesn't accelerate, shakes, shutters, etc. Other Nissan Quest/Nissan owners with same issue (Pathfinder, Rogue, Juke, Murano, Versa,Sentra,Altima). Refer to CarComplaints.com. I mailed a letter to Nissan Corp Office in Franklin TN. They offered no assistance. Nissan settled a class action law suit for Sentra, Versa, Altima with same trans problem by agreeing to replace trans and extend warranty from 5yrs/60K miles to 10 yrs/120K miles. Want Nissan to replace bad CVT transmissions and extend warranty on Quest vans and other models with bad CVT transmissions.
Dashboard has a square cut on the passnger side, it is like a blade cut.
CVT transmission is failing, it is very very common with Nissan.
My Brake system was flushed but my brake light and battery and ABS LIGHT stays on flickering I was driving my vehicle at high speed and it it just stalls with no warning... I have to wait 20 mins or more before it'll start again. It has bn doing this for an entire year..driving full speed with no warning just shut down in middle of traffic
Traveling at a high speed of 75 vehicle without warning stalls can't give any gas... Will not restart to after it has sat for about 20 mins then it will start and stall out again..ABS light and brake battery light keeps jumping on and off
My 2012 Nissan Quest has completely rotted out causing the muffler system and the motor mount to move causing significant damage and repair. Over $2,500 just to buy parts and repair all due to excessive rust on the body frame underneath. Its only a 2012 yet it looks as if it is a lot older. While driving the muffler system failed and broke away along with the motor mount which shifted. Cannot be driven any longer.
IN 2019 OUR PAINT STARTED PEALING OFF IN CHUNKS. I CAN RUB MY HAND A CROSS THE PAINT AND IT WILL FALL OFF. WHEN I WASH MY VEHICLE EVEN MORE PAINT WILL COME OFF. THERE ARE NUMEROUS SPOTS ON MY VEHICLE WHERE THE METAL IS EXPOSED.
FRONT SUN ROOF EXPLODED, SHOWERING GLASS OVER THE ROOF. DRIVING ON A SMOOTH CITY STREET AT 35 MPH. NO OTHER VEHICLE OR PERSON IN THE VICINITY, AND NOTHING OVERHEAD. TEMPERATURE NEAR FREEZING AND SPITTING SNOW. THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY.
I AM HAVING A PROBLEM ON THE CVT TRANSMISSION OF MY 2012 NISSAN QUEST. IT'S BECOMING TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE IT'S KEEP ON JERKING WHEN I'M DRIVING IT IN THE STREET THAT IS WAY I DON'T DRIVE IT IN THE FREEWAY BECAUSE IT'S TOO DANGEROUS AND LATELY IT SPEED UP THAT I ALMOST GET AN ACCIDENT. FIRST IT WON'T RUN WHENEVER I STOP AT STOP SIGN AND/OR STOP LIGHT, WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR IT WON'T RUN LIKE IT NORMALLY DO AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT WILL SPEED UP THAT I ALMOST GET IN AN ACCIDENT. I WANT THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER TO RECALL MY QUEST AND FIX MY TRANSMISSION.
AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AS SOON AS CAR IS IN IGNITION AND STAY WHEN CAR IS STATIC. THE LIGHT STAYS ON EVEN IN MOTION. THE DEALER FIXED THIS ISSUE AND ANOTHER LIGHT CAME ON. I AM BEEN TOLD TO PAY ANOTHER 3000 DOLLARS TO FIX THE SEAT.
THE LCD SCREEN ON THE DASH DOOR KEEPS ACTING CRAZY LIKE SCRAMBLING AND IT HAS NOW JUST GONE COMPLETELY BLACK
WE WERE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE TRANSMISSION FELT LIKE THE VAN WAS JERKING EVERY TIME THE GAS WAS PRESSED. THIS WAS EVEN HAPPENING THE DAY PRIOR WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. AT ONE POINT THE RPM WOULD GO START GOING HIGH WHEN THE GAS WAS BARELY BEING PRESSED. WE DECIDED TO GET OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT. WE WERE AT A STOPLIGHT AND THE VAN JUST SUDDENLY STOPPED GIVING ANY POWER WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS. THERE WERE NO LIGHT INDICATORS ON THE DASHBOARD TO ALERT OF ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VAN. THE RPM WOULD NOT REV UP EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL FLOORED. WE TURNED THE VAN OFF AND ON TO SEE IF THAT WAS THE ISSUE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND THERE WAS STILL NO POWER PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL. THE VAN HAD TO ROLL UNTIL WE WERE ABLE TO PARK SAFELY AT A GAS STATION. WE LET THE VAN SIT FOR OVER 30 MINUTES JUST IN CASE TO SEE IF IT WAS AN OVERHEATING ISSUE. THERE WAS A JIFFY LUBE NEARBY AND WE ASKED A MECHANIC WHAT THE ISSUE WOULD BE. THEY SAID THAT NISSAN HAD A CVT TRANSMISSION WHICH HAS BEEN KNOWN TO HAVE PROBLEMS LIKE LOSS OF POWER, TRANSMISSION JERKING, ETC. EVENTUALLY WE HAD TO GET THE VAN TOWED BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED.
I WAS SOLD A DECEPTIVE VAN AT THE END SEPT 2020, I DID A TEST DRIVE WITH THE SALESMAN, POINTED OUT SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE VAN LIKE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON, TRACTION LIGHT ON, AIR BAG LIGHT ON, REMOTE MISSING TO CONTROL TV, THE SALESMAN TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY ABOUT ALL THE LIGHTS THAT'S ON HE WILL GET THAT FIX AT A LATER DATE AND TO BUY THE TV REMOTE AND A DEDUCTION WILL BE APPLIED TO MY CONTRACT. I WAS FINE WITH THAT, BUT THAT HASN'T BEEN THE CASE. I ADMITTEDLY START TO FIND OTHER ISSUE WITH THE VAN THE MORE I DROVE IT LIKE THE REAR WIPER MOTOR IS NOT WORKING, THE COMPLETE STEERING WHEEL IS NOT WORKING SO THE HORN, CRUISE CONTROL, BLUETOOTH SETTINGS, RADIO VOLUME BUTTON. I HAVE MADE THE SALESMAN A WHERE OF THIS BUT HIS WHOLE TONE CHANGED. I WAS TOLD TO GET WHATEVER ISSUES FIXED MYSELF AND MAYBE A DEDUCTION WOULD BE APPLIED TO MY BALANCE, ONCE AGAIN I SAID BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT WE AGREE ON. SO NOW ITS TIME FOR MY TEMPORARY TAG TO EXPIRE, WAS ISSUED A NEW ONE 3 TIMES BUT HAD TO TAKE IT TO A SHOP TO LET THEM MANIPULATE THE SYSTEM BECAUSE THE VAN WILL NOT PASS MARTA/EMISSION TO GET REGISTER FOR REAL LICENSE PLATE WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THE VAN IS MISSING THE CADILLAC CONVERTER AND THE SALESMAN WILL NOT PUT ONE ON SAID YOU DO NOT REALLY NEED IT ON THE VAN. AT THIS POINT HE SAID IN A CONVERSATION WITH ME THAT A PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE VAN FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND RETURNED IT FOR ISSUES, BUT WHEN I SAID I'M NOT SATISFIED WITH THE VAN AND WANT TO RETURN AS WELL, IT WAS PASS 2 MONTHS NOW AND AS LONG AS THE VAN GETS ME TO POINT A TO POINT B THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS! ONCE AGAIN THE MORE I DRIVE THE VAN I'M FINDING ISSUES SO NOW THE BUTTON ON THE RADIO GET STUCK WHEN PUSHED IN, CONTROLLING THE HEAT AND AIR IT HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN, SO WHEN I TURN ON THE HEAT, THE AC BUTTON WILL NOT TURN OFF, ALSO THE AUTOMATIC WINDOW BUTTONS DON'T WORK PROPERLY. THIS VAN IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE PERIOD.
AUTOMATIC REAR DOORS CANNOT BE STOPPED FROM CLOSING ONCE ACTIVATED AND A PERSON CAN GET CRUSHED IN THE DOOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CHECKED THE OIL LEVEL AND DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS NO OIL IN ENGINE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN WORLD OF RED BANK (NEWMAN SPRINGS RD E, RED BANK, NJ 07701) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR AN UNKNOWN FAILURE AND WAS RETURNED TO THE CONTACT. A YEAR LATER, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME FAILURE REOCCURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.
AT 119,000 MILES THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T GET OUT OF 1ST GEAR, MAKING ACCELERATION FROM A DEAD STOP NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE. SEVERAL CALLS TO MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND TO NISSAN CORPORATION RESULTED IN "I'M SORRY BUT WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING FOR YOU BUT OFFER A COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF YOUR TRANSMISSION AT AT COST OVER $5000". THE VEHICLE IS ONLY 19K MILES OUT OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I PURCHASED FROM NISSAN, BUT THEY ARE CLAIMING THEY DON'T LOOK AT THAT, THEY LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURE WARRANTY. NISSAN IS AWARE OF ISSUES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION THEY HAVE PUT IN THEIR CARS BUT REFUSE TO FIX THE ISSUES OR WORK WITH CUSTOMERS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HIS SON WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, AN EXPLOSION WAS HEARD IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND BLACK SMOKE WAS SEEN COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND THE FAMILY EXITED SAFELY HOWEVER SMOKE FILLED THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE DOORS WERE OPENED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAMILY MEMBERS NOTICED THAT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS ON FIRE AS FLAMES WERE EXITING THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE SHERIFF ATTEMPTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER HOWEVER WAS UNABLE TO. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED MORE THAN HALF OF THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS UNAWARE IF A FIRE OR POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS AWAITING TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER TROPHY NISSAN ( 5031 N GALLOWAY AVE, MESQUITE, TX 75150) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER BUT WAS TRANSFERRED TO ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000. *LN*JB

ENGINE NOISE WHEN IS COLD , SOMETIMES IS LOOSING POWER , WHEN YOU STEPON GAS PEDAL CAR IS NOT MOVING , STOP SIGN AND TRAFIC LIGHTS
COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE RIGHT AFTER PASSING THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE JERKED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ONE. THE NISSAN DEALER STATED THAT THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT CAN'T BE REBUILT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM ACROSS OTHER 2012 NISSAN QUESTS. OTHER CUSTOMERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS AS WELL. HTTP://WWW.LEMONLAWCASE.COM/PROBLEM-VEHICLES/NISSAN-CVT-PROBLEMS/ NISSAN SHOULD EXTEND THE WARRANTY FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO 100K MILES FOR ALL 2012 NISSAN QUESTS. THE VEHICLE STALLS DUE TO TRANSMISSION. CVT FAILED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS SOME 93,000 MILES. VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY AND DID NOT MOVE. WE HAD TO TOW IT HOME. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES.
HELLO, MY NAME IS [XXX] . I BOUGHT A NISSAN QUEST 2012, AND I'VE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 2 OR 3 YEARS. WHEN I BOUGHT IT, THE SEATS WERE GOOD. OVERTIME, THE SEATS HAVE BECOME WORN OUT. THE HANDLE TO REST YOUR HAND HAS A RIP IN HALF. THE SEAT (DRIVER'S) IS ALSO BEING WORN. I'M NOT SURE IF THE LEATHER IS BAD QUALITY BECAUSE IT'S ONLY BEEN ABOUT 7 YEARS OF USE AND THE LEATHER IS BEING WORN OUT. ADDITIONALLY, THE BACK SEATS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION UNLIKE THE PASSENGER SEAT, WHICH IS BEGINNING TO MIRROR WHAT THE DRIVER'S LOOKS LIKE. I ONLY MENTION THIS BECAUSE I OWN OTHER CARS THAT ARE OLDER, AND I'VE HAD FOR A WHILE AND THE LEATHER ISN'T A PROBLEM. I WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS WAS A RECALL. THANK YOU. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK A UTILITY VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNINJURED AND DROVE HERSELF TO THE HOSPITAL FOR EXAMINATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND FACILITY. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.

MULTIPLE TIMES GOT INTO THE VEHICLE (NO SPECIFIC TIME THIS WOULD OCCUR) AND ATTEMPTED TO START THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WOULD START AS IT WAS IN THE PARK POSITION. WHEN THE VAN WOULD BE PLACED IN REVERSE IT WOULD ENGAGE AND BACKING UP WOULD OCCUR. ONCE THEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN DRIVE, THE VEHICLE WOULD THEN SHUTTER AND THEN STALL OUT. THIS DID OCCUR TWICE WHILE DRIVER WAS PULLING OUT, AND THE VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. AFTER MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS THE VEHICLE WOULD FINALLY START. AFTER THE FIRST TWO TIMES THIS OCCURRED, WE STARTED DOCUMENTING THE AMOUNT OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE AND EACH TIME THIS OCCURRED IT WAS ON OR BELOW A QUARTER OF A TANK OF GAS. SINCE KEEPING AT LEAST A 1/2 TANK OF FUEL, THE VEHICLE HAS NOT EXHIBITED THIS BEHAVIOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL MECHANIC TO BE LOOKED AT. AFTER ASSESSING THE VEHICLE BASED ON OUR DESCRIPTION, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE TAKEN TO A NISSAN DEALER DUE TO BEING A TSB OUT ON THIS YEAR AND MODEL OF VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THIS ISSUE, THE VEHICLE WOULD SHUTTER AFTER BEING STOPPED IN DRIVE (STOP SIGN, PULLING OUT MOVING FORWARD, OR ACCELERATING UP A HILL). TESTING WAS DONE, AND CODE P0500 WAS LISTED. WE HAD THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR CHANGED, NEW BATTERY, AND UP /LOWER MANIFOLD GASKETS CHANGED, IN ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS ISSUE. AFTER EACH OF THESE SERVICES WERE DONE, THE VEHICLE DID RUN SOMEWHAT BETTER, BUT STILL OCCURS OFF AND ON.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR WON'T OPEN, IF IN A EMERGENCY CASE HOW CAN THE DRIVER GET OUT OF THE CAR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE FUEL TANK GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE TANK WAS EMPTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT TWO HOURS AFTER FILLING UP THE FUEL TANK, THE TANK WOULD BE EMPTY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO BROWN'S FAIRFAX NISSAN (11010 FAIRFAX BLVD, FAIRFAX, VA 22030, (703)-591-8009) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS OR WARRANTIES PER THE VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 161,000.
DOESN'T WANT TO SPEED WHEN ACCELERATE, SPECIALLY ON A HILL. NO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS DETECT IT.
THE VEHICLE STALLS DUE TO TRANSMISSION. CVT FAILED WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS SOME 93,000 MILES. VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION DID NOT MOVE. I HAD TO PUSH IT OFF THE ROAD. VERY DANGEROUS. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES.
THE VAN BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND SEEMINGLY MISFIRE ONCE SHIFTED INTO GEAR. I SUSPECTED A CASE OF CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS AND PRESSED FIRMLY WITH THE THROTTLE TO CLEAR THE LINE OF DEBRIS. THE VAN THEN STALLED IN THE INTERSECTION AS I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED ITSELF AND PROVIDED NO GEAR RESISTANCE. FORTUNATELY THE TIMING OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC ALLOWED ME TO COAST OUT OF THE INTERSECTION, USING THE DOWNWARD GRADE OF A NEARBY ALLEY IN ORDER TO EXIT THE STREET. INSPECTION OF THE VAN REVEALED OBD II CODES: P0500 AND P0720. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED AN EXISTING RECALL FOR AUTOMOBILES OF THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR, THAT EXHIBIT THE EVENTS I HAVE ENCOUNTERED. I BELIEVE THAT RECALL:12V076000 RECALL DATE 02/29/2012 SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MY VIN DUE TO THE SIMILARITY OF EVENTS ENCOUNTERED AS WELL AS THE HAZARD THEREBY CREATED. I AM FORTUNATE TO HAVE MADE IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION WITHOUT GETTING T-BONED. BELOW ARE REFERENCE QUOTES AND LINKS THAT FURTHER DESCRIBE THE EXPERIENCE AND ILLUSTRATE THE IDENTICAL CIRCUMSTANCES THAT PROMPTED THE EXISTING RECALL. REFERENCE A: HTTP://P0500.ENGINETROUBLECODE.COM/NISSAN-QUEST P0500 OBD-II DIAGNOSTIC POWERTRAIN (P) TROUBLE CODE DESCRIPTION P0500 OBD-II TROUBLE CODE THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR OUTPUTS A 4 PULSE SIGNAL FOR EVERY REVOLUTION OF THE ROTOR SHAFT, WHICH IS ROTATED BY THE TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SHAFT VIA THE DRIVEN GEAR. TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 107K MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MICHAEL JORDAN NISSAN (3930 DURHAM-CHAPEL HILL BLVD, DURHAM, NC 27707, (919) 489-3800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 128,000.
THERE IS A FUEL SYSTEM GLITCH IN THE SOFTWARE. THE CAR STALLS WHEN IDLING OR TRAVELING AT SPEEDS LOWER THAN 40 MPH. IT ALMOST ALWAYS HAPPENS AT STOP LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS AS WELL. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL NOT EVEN DRIVE BUT IT WILL REVERSE. I AM ABLE TO REVERSE OUT OF A PARKING SPOT BUT AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE FORWARD. IT IT'S VERY INCONSISTENT AND WILL HAPPEN FREQUENTLY FOR WEEKS, THEN GO A COUPLE WEEKS WITHOUT HAPPENING BEFORE IT STARTS BACK AGAIN. A MESSAGE POPS UP ON THE SCREEN ABOUT A SOFTWARE ERROR WHEN THE PROBLEM HAPPENS. IT IS THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE 2011-2012 QUESTS BUT MY VIN NUMBER DOES NOT MATCH THE RECALL. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO GET REPAIRED TWICE AND NO ONE COULD FIND THE PROBLEM. AFTER IT WOULD NOT DRIVE AT ALL YESTERDAY, A NEW MECHANIC FOUND THE PROBLEM AND THE BULLETIN ABOUT THE RECALL BUT NISSAN WILL NOT COVER IT BECAUSE MY VIN NUMBER DOESN'T MATCH.
VAN STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE ACCELERATION, I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND IT DIDN'T RESPONDED UNTIL SEVERAL SECONDS LATER (5-10), IT STARTED SLOWLY AND THEN IT ACCELERATES SLOWLY. EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE STOPS, THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T WORK. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I TOOK THE CAR TO AN AUTOZONE STORE, AND THEY FOUND THE ERROR CODE P1778, WHICH IS CVT TRANSMISSION ERROR. I TOOK THE VAN THEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY FOUND THE SAME ERROR CODE, AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT APPROX $3800 DLS. THE VAN HAS 76,000 MILES. AND SO FAR, I'VE SEEN NUMEROUS SITES THAT HAVE CLAIMS AND LIST PROBLEMS WITH NISSAN TRANSMISSIONS, AND NISSAN IS NOT TAKING CARE OF CUSTOMERS. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF YOU ARE TRYING TO CROSS A STREET AND THE CAR DOESN'T RESPOND. ALSO ITS VERY DISAPPOINTING THAT NISSAN DOESN'T HELP OR DOESN'T HAVE A RECALL TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION OR FIX THIS ISSUE.
CVT STARTED SLIPPING AROUND 115,000 MILES WHEN TAKING OFF ON INCLINE. REALLY BAD SLIPPING AND HAD FLUID CHANGED AT 121,000 MILES. SURGING AND LOSING POWER ON THE INTERSTATE IN TRAFFIC. WENT COMPLETELY OUT AT 130,000 MILES LEAVING MY FAMILY STRANDED.
ON 8/7/17 MY WIFE WAS HIT IN THE LEFT SIDE OF HER EYE/HEAD AREA BY THE PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR WHILE SHE WAS TRYING TO GET OUR 2 YEAR OLD SON OUT OF THE CAR. OUR CAR WAS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY. SHE WENT INSIDE OUR HOME TO GET A BAG FOR A BEACH DAY WITH OUR 5 CHILDREN, BUT AFTER A FEW MINUTES, SHE DIDN'T COME BACK TO THE CAR. I WENT INSIDE WITH OUR CHILDREN TO FIND OUT WHAT SHE WAS DOING, AND I FOUND HER ON THE FLOOR, HEAD DOWN, WITH A POOL OF BLOOD BEHIND HER HEAD, AND SHE WAS UNCONSCIOUS. I CALLED 911 AND MY SON BEGAN CPR, AS SHE HAD FOAM COMING FROM HER MOUTH. MY SON AFTER NUMEROUS CONTINUOUS PUMPS TO HER CHEST, AROUND 5 MINUTES, SHE FINALLY TOOK A BREATH. WHEN THE PARAMEDICS ARRIVED, THEY TOOK MY WIFE TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE SHE CONTINUED TO HAVE A VERY HARD TIME BREATHING AND UPON ARRIVAL TO THE HOSPITAL, SHE WAS INTUBATED WITH A VENTILATOR TO HELP HER BREATH. TESTS REVEALED SHE HAD A BRAIN HEMORRHAGE AND SEVERAL LACERATIONS TO HER HEAD. SHE WAS KEPT IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 11 DAYS, AND WAS DISCHARGED HOME TO BED REST AND GRADUAL WALKING WITH THE HELP OF A PHYSICAL THERAPIST, NURSE AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST. WE HAVE 5 CHILDREN, ALL OF WHOM CAN BE HIT BY THE SLIDING DOOR IF THE ELECTRICAL BUTTON IS PUSHED ON. WE NOW LEAVE THAT BUTTON OFF, AS WE FEAR THEY WILL ALSO GET HIT BY THE DOOR, AS THE SENSOR DOES NOT WORK IF SOMETHING OR SOMEONE IS IN THE DOOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING ON A DECLINE. ONCE THE CONTACT REACHED THE BOTTOM OF THE DECLINE, SHE WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL AND DRIVE NORMALLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V076000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
VAN HAS HAD ISSUES SLIPPING ON HILLS AFTER STOP WITH GEARS GRINDING AND JERKING. BROUGHT IN TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE. I MENTIONED I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE TRANSMISSION AND HOW WE CAN DO PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE. THEY RECOMMENDED FLUSHING TRANSMISSION FLUID FOR $125 WHICH I DID. LESS THAN MONTH LATER, SLIPPING STILL OCCURRED ON HILLS AFTER STOPS. ON WAY HOME THIS PAST SATURDAY, I WAS GOING ABOUT 30-40 MPH WHEN THERE WAS A STOP LIGHT ON A SLIGHT INCLINE. I SLOWED DOWN TO ABOUT 5-10MPH WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. I THEN PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE GEAR GRINDED AND I HAD NO POWER. AS I PRESSED THE GAS NO POWER WAS COMING TO VAN AND I HAD TO PULL OVER. I HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND WAIT A MINUTE OR SO AND AFTER STARTING THE CAR, THE VEHICLE SEEMED NORMAL AGAIN. I NOTICED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO WAS NOW ON. BROUGHT THE VAN IN TO DEALERSHIP AND AFTER DOING A DRIVE TEST AND REPLICATING ON A HILL, THEY CONFIRMED THE SLIPPING. THEY ALSO DID A DIAGNOSTIC AND CONFIRMED TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO TUNE OF $4100. LOOKING UP THIS CASE THERE APPEARS TO BE NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS. NISSAN ALSO PROVIDED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR PRIOR VAN MODELS FROM 2003-2010 TO 100K MILES. MY VEHICLE IS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST WITH 81K MILES. WITH ALL THE NISSANS HAVING CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES, IT APPEARS THERE IS A PERVASIVE ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY NISSAN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHEN THE FUEL TANK REACHED A QUARTER TANK AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN A DECLINE, THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS COASTED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE DECLINE FROM WHERE THE CONTACT PROCEEDED TO PURCHASE FUEL AND FILLED THE TANK ABOVE A QUARTER OF THE TANK. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED (COUGHLIN AUTOMOTIVE IN NEWARK, OHIO) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT ONE OF THE FUEL SENSORS WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
JERKING MOTION: SUDDEN TWITCHING AND OSCILLATING MOTION OF ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. AFTER DRIVING NORMALLY FOR ABOUT 10~30 MINTS, IT HAPPENS AT ABOUT 2000 RPM ~ 2500 RMP ON UPHILL (WITH ACCELERATOR GENTRY PRESSED DOWN). IT STOPES WHEN I RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR, WHEN THE ENGINE COMES DOWN TO BELOW 2000 RPM. HTTPS://YOUTU.BE/7VCLGUAUMOE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RAIL UPPER ASSEMBLY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD BE ASSIGNED TO THE CASE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT A SAFETY DEFECT AND WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 92,000.
DASH CRACK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
BROKEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR LOCK ACCUATOR CAUSED THE DOOR TO NOT OPEN. THE MECHANICAL DOOR LOCK SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED RESULTING IN A DOOR THAT IS LOCKED AND WILL NOT UNLOCK TO OPEN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT WILL PREVENT SAFE EXIT IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CVT FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THOUGH MY VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECT TO A RECALL I HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS THE OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED. WITH 40 MILES LEFT TO GO, ACCORDING TO MY GAUGE, MY VEHICLE STALLED IN TRAFFIC, ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, WHILE TURNING LEFT INTO GAS STATIONS. WHEN I PRESENTED THIS ISSUE TO A DEALER AND TO NISSAN AMERICA I WAS TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECT TO A RECALL, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND REQUIRED THE SAME REPAIR AS THE RECALLED VEHICLES. I WAS CHARGED OVER $300 FOR REPROGRAMMING MY COMPUTER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE TRANSMISSION WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND MULTIPLE PARTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
OUR MINIVAN WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND WOULDN'T ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING THE GAS, IT HESITATED FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN JOLTED FORWARD, CAUSING THE VEHICLE BEHIND US TO DRIVE OFF ROAD TO AVOID A COLLISION.
THE VEHICLE HAS DEVELOPED A HESITATION FROM A STOP POSITION. WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND TRY TO ACCELERATE, THE VEHICLE HESITATES. IT DOES NOT DO IT ALL THE TIME BUT IT IS GETTING MORE FREQUENT. I HAD THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. THEY SAID NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE ALSO TALKED TO NISSAN CUSTOMER RELATIONS (MARK @ 615-725-7561) AND WAS ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER (19100795). I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHICH SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY NISSAN. I KNOW THERE IS A RECALL ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND HILLS AND LOW GAS. I NEVER LET MY GAS TANK GET BELOW 1/2 TANK AND WHERE I LIVE AND DRIVE THERE ARE NO HILLS. I AM DOCUMENTING THIS ISSUE IN CASE AN ACCIDENT RESULTS, IN WHICH CASE NISSAN WILL HEAR ABOUT IT AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE HOUSING OF THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT, LOCATED BEHIND THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

TRANS WAS DONE BY AUGUST 14 2014 IN NOVEMBER 2015 THE SAME THING AGAIN TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS TRANS IN CARS AN VANS THE DEALER IS DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. IMAGINE 3 TIMES SAME VEHICLE AND IT' UNDER 70,000 MILES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
OUR AC QUIT WORKING AND WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE AC LINES HAD HOLES IN THEM DUE TO CORROSION. THIS IS ABSURD FOR A VEHICLE ONLY THREE YEARS OLD. REPAIR ESTIMATE IS $1700 DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE TO DROP THE SUBFRAME IN ORDER TO ACCESS THE CORRODED LINES. CLEARLY THIS IS A VEHICLE DEFECT AND NISSAN SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBLITY FOR THE SUBSTANDARD MATERIAL USED IN THESE LINES. WE APPEAR TO BE THE SECOND CONSUMER REPORTING THIS ISSUE ON THIS SITE.
I WAS DRIVING TODAY WITH MY FAMILY ON MY 2012 NISSAN QUEST WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE RIGHT BACK DOOR OPEN AND CLOSE WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, LUCKILY MY DAUGHTER WAS WEARING HER SEAT BELT AND NOTHING HAPPENED THIS IS UNSAFE, THIS IS AN UNSAFE CAR TO DRIVE, I WENT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY CANT FIX IT BECAUSE IS A LONG WEEKEND AND THEY DONT WANT TO WORK. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO TREAT A CUSTOMER, YOU GET PAY TO WORK THEN DO YOU JOB. NISSAN ARE THE WORSE CAR. I WILL HOLD NISSAN 100% RESPONSIBLE IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE.
MAY 2014, I HAD A WET DRIVER SIDE A PILLAR THAT WAS LEAKING. NISSAN ATTRIBUTED IT TO A DEFECTIVE SUNROOF WITH A CRACK. THE HEADLINER, SUBWOOFER AND AMPLIFIER WERE REPLACED. ON JULY 10, 2015, I TOOK MY CAR TO A FLAGSHIP CARWASH. AFTER MY CAR WAS WASHED I NOTICED WATER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE REAR SUNROOF AND ON THE HEADLINER IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE ON BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT SIDES OF THE CAR WAS WET IN ALL THE ABOVE NOTED LOCATIONS. MY RADIO ALSO STOPPED WORKING. NISSAN HAD MY CAR FOR FIVE DAYS AND SAID THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE LEAK OR DETERMINE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE RADIO. THEY WOULD NOT LOOK AT THE RADIO AS IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I TOOK MY CAR TO A LOCAL RADIO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY DISCOVERED RUST BEHIND THE PANELS IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE, IN THE CARGO AREA AND 2 INCHES OF WATER UNDER MY CARGO AREA. VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FEB 2013 NEW.
ENGINE MOUNT FOUND BROKEN DURING OIL CHANGE. CHANGED AND FOUND BROKEN AGAIN AT ABOUT 50000. CHANGED AND FOUND BROKEN A THIRD TIME AT 75000.
DASH IS CRACKED ALONG PERIMETER OF PASSENGER AIR BAG.
OUR VEHICLES AIR CONDITIONING PIPES HAVE CORRODED THROUGH TO THE POINT WHERE THE LINE HAS HOLES IN IT . THE REPAIR IS 1,200.00 WHICH IS EXTREME FOR A VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND HAS ONLY SEEN 2.5 WINTERS. OUR OTHER VEHICLE HAS SEEN FIVE WINTERS AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN IN THE SAME CONDITIONS HAS HAS NOT ONE BIT OF RUST ON IT. THE VEHICLES CONSTRUCTION OR DEFECTIVE PARTS MUST BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND NISSAN SHOULD CLAIM RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.
THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT IN OUT 2012 NISSAN QUEST AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE AFTER COMING TO A STOP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED; HOWEVER, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOLENOID NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING SAME FAILURES AS MENTIONED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V076000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,499.
MANUFACTURER TIRES DEFECTIVE/BALD CAUSED LOSS OF TRACTION AND SPINNING. COULD NOT MAKE IT UP THE DRIVEWAY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A WALL. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES AND THE VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED EXTENSIVELY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
THIS IS A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO THE TIRES/WHEELS THAT NISSAN HAS SELECTED FOR PLACEMENT ON THE 2012 NISSAN QUEST.THE TOYO A22 235/55/18 TIRES ARE COMPLETELY WORN AT 26,000 MILES.WE DID NOT DISCOVER THE ISSUE WITH THE TIRES UNTIL A THIRD PARTY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE.THE VEHICLE WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION.ALL SERVICE HAS OCCURRED AT A NISSAN AUTHORIZED DEALER AT THE RECOMMENDED INTERVALS.THE SERVICE GROUPS AT SHEEHY NISSAN AND GRAPEVINE NISSAN DID NOT ALERT US TO THE DANGERS.I HAVE SPOKEN WITH NISSAN REGIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND ALERTED THEM TO THE CONCERN AND ISSUES SURROUNDING THE RAPID WEAR.IT IS OUR BELIEF THAT THE NISSAN QUEST IS TO HEAVY FOR THE TIRES THAT WERE SELECTED ON THE VEHICLE, AND/OR THE TIRE IS DEFECTIVE. NISSAN REGIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS HAS DECIDED NOT TO INTERVENE, OR ASSIST ON OUR BEHALF.ACCORDING TO NISSAN EMPLOYEE [XXX],NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE INFORMATION ON THE TOYO A22 TIRE,OR KNOWLEDGE OF WEIGHT CHARACTERISTICS&WHAT CONSTITUTES ABNORMAL WEAR. WHEN EXPLAINING I WAS RECORDING THE CALL SHE ABRUPTLY HUNG UP. SHE DID STATE THAT THE TIRE WAS SOFT&DID NOT HAVE A WARRANTY. IN ADDITION, SHE STATED THAT NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE ANY RESPONSIBILITY TO THE CONSUMER REGARDING THE TIRES,& THAT THE ENTIRE MATTER IS TOYO'S RESPONSIBILITY.I REQUESTED TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR & WAS DENIED. I ASKED IF THE COMPLAINT COULD BE REPORTED.SHE SAID THERE WAS NO OTHER MECHANISM TO REPORT THIS WITHIN NISSAN. ACCORDING TO TOYO THE A22 235/55/18 TIRE IS A CUSTOM PART MANUFACTURED TO NISSAN SPECS.AFTER CONDUCTING AN INTERNET SEARCH THERE ARE MANY MENTIONS OF NISSAN QUEST TIRES WEARING EARLY.MY BELIEF IS THAT NISSAN HAS NOT ACCURATELY CALCULATED THE VEHICLE WEIGHT CORRECTLY,&HAS CHOSEN TIRES THAT CAN JEOPARDIZE THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGERS&MOTORISTS. AN ADDITIONAL COMPLAINT FOR TOYO IS BEING FILED STATING THAT THE TIRE IS NOT ROBUST ENOUGH FOR THE VEHICLE WEIGHT IT IS HANDLING. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

I HAVE 20,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND MY TIRES NEED REPLACING! I PURCHASED IT NEW IN APRIL 2012. I HAVE HAD IT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. I DRIVE IT CAREFULLY AND HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED WHEN NEEDED. I HAD A FLAT ON MONDAY ON MY WAY TO WORK. THAT EVENING I HAD IT LOOKED AT FOR REPAIR. IT CANNOT BE REPAIRED. THE TIRE TREAD IS VERY LOW. THEY ARE BRIDGESTONE TURANZA. I BOUGHT A VAN BECAUSE I'M DRIVING CHILDREN AROUND FREQUENTLY. WHY COULDN'T NISSAN PUT BETTER TIRES ON THIS VEHICLE? WHEN YOU BUY A NEW CAR, YOU ASSUME THAT YOU WON'T HAVE TO REPAIR ANYTHING FOR SEVERAL YEARS. NOW I HAVE TO BUY A NEW SET OF TIRES AT CHRISTMAS TIME! I AM REALLY UNHAPPY! I CHECKED THIS SITE TO SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL ON TIRES. I CERTAINLY HOPE SO! *TR
MY CAR RANDOMLY ACCELERATED ON 2 OCCASIONS , MAY 30, 2013 AND JUNE 27, 2013. THE FIRST INCIDENT RESULTED IN A CRASH, HITTING A POLE, TREE, AND ANOTHER VEHICLE. 2ND INCIDENT WAS A NEAR MISS, ALMOST HAD A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. MY 9 YEAR OLD SON AND I WERE IN THE CAR. NO RESOLUTION FROM NISSAN. THEY ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY. WANT ME TO TAKE CAR BACK WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION. *TR
I REALIZED THAT I WAS GOING FASTER THAN ALL CARS AROUND ME ON ROAD. UPON CHECKING WITH GPS ON IPHONE AND TOMTOM GPS DEVICE , THE VEHICLE INDICATED 60MPH ON SPEEDOMETER, BUT BOTH GPS DEVICES INDICATED 70MPH. I VARIED SPEED AND FOUND THE VEHICLE IS GOING 10MPH FASTER THAN INDICATED ON SPEEDOMETER AT 30-70MPH RANGE. THE CLUSTER INCLUDING SPEEDOMETER DIED AND WAS REPLACED 1 MONTH AGO. THE NEW ONE IS FAULTY AGAIN OR SET-UP WRONG. THIS IS DANGEROUS! *TR
I WAS GOING TO GET GAS FOR MY NISSAN QUEST, THE READING SAID I HAD 30 MORE MILES TO GO BEFORE EMPTY. I DROVE AROUND THE CIRCLE IN THE ROAD AND MADE THE TURN ONTO THE ROAD AND MY CAR STALLED. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A TRUCK BEHIND ME, BUT IT SWERVED OFF THE ROAD TO AVOID MY CAR. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2012 NISSAN QUEST ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO. I HAVE 20,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND THE TIRES ARE HORRIBLE! THEY ARE BRIDGESTONE TURANZA EL 400. THEY ARE FEATHERING AND BALDING. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN OR OTHER WEATHER CONDITIONS. THESE TIRES HAVE BEEN ROTATED EVERY 5,000 MILES...IT IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING THAT YOU BUY A 30,000 VEHICLE AND HAVE TIRES THAT AREN'T WORTH ANYTHING ON IT! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO CLEAR THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD, WHICH CREATED A BLIND SPOT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34. UPDATED 7/15/13 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE STALLING HAS PROGRESSED, WHICH ALSO OCCURRED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE. UPDATED 07/22/13
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2012 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED ABNORMALLY AND THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER PRIOR TO THE FAILURE FOR REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 12V076000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: SOFTWARE). THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN RELATED TO THE RECALL REPAIR BECAUSE THERE WERE NO FAILURES PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE BEING SERVICED UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
I WAS PARKED ON A SLOPE, WITH ABOUT 1/8 A TANK OF GAS AND THE VAN WOULD NOT START. I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER I PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND ROLLED IT TO LEVEL GROUND. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL, WHICH I WAS NEVER INFORMED ABOUT. I TOOK THE VAN INTO THE LOCAL NISSAN SHOP AND THEY PERFORMED THE RECALL FIX. WHEN I ASKED WHY I WASN'T NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL, THEY SAID THAT MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED AFTER THE DATES COVERED BY THE RECALL, BUT IT WAS OBVIOUSLY AFFECTED BY THE SAME ISSUE (AND THAT THE DATES IN THE RECALL MUST BE "OFF"). THE RECALL NUMBER IS 12V076000, IT COVERS VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 7/29/2010 AND 2/21/2012. MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED ON 2/23/2012, AND HAS THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
3 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING A BRAND NEW 2012 NISSAN QUEST (PURCHASED VEHICLE ON 04/15/2012), I WAS DRIVING DOWN A HILL AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF AND THE CAR STATED THERE WAS NO MORE GAS, EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A QUARTER TANK. CARS BEHIND ME SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES AND LUCKILY WE WERE NOT HIT. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND AFTER COASTING DOWN THE HILL AND REACHING A LEVEL PART OF THE ROAD, MY CAR STARTED AGAIN AND TOLD ME THAT I HAD A QUARTER TANK. AFTER TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALER, I LEARNED THERE WAS AN OPEN RECALL CAMPAIGN (NHTSA RECALL 12V076) ON THE 2012 QUEST AND THE REMEDY WAS NOT PERFORMED PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, WHICH IS AGAINST REGULATIONS AS THE RECALL CAMPAIGN WAS STARTED BY NISSAN BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. ON 06/20/2012 (1 DAY AFTER THE INCIDENT) I TOOK THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALER TO BE REPAIRED AND THE PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSEDLY FIXED AT TOWN CENTER NISSAN UNDER R/O NUMBER 6012078/1. ON SEPTEMBER 26TH I STARTED TO TURN INTO AN INTERSECTION ON A GREEN ARROW WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF AND SAID I WAS OUT OF GAS, (A MINUTE PRIOR TO THAT THE CAR SAID I HAD 37 MILES AND A QUARTER TANK LEFT). I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED (THE CAR HAD TO SWERVE INTO ANOTHER LANE) AND GOOD SAMARITANS PUSHED ME INTO A PARKING LOT CLOSE BY. I REALIZE THAT NHTSA HAS ALREADY ACTED ON THE PROBLEM MY CAR EXPERIENCED, BUT I FEEL SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE WITH REGARDS TO THE DEALER "GWINNETT PLACE NISSAN" WHO SOLD ME THE CAR WITHOUT FIRST FIXING THE PROBLEM (SINCE IT WAS A BRAND NEW CAR). I ALSO WANT NHTSA TO BE AWARE THAT THE "FIX" SO FAR HAS NOT WORKED FOR MY VEHICLE. WE ARE GIVING THEM A "FINAL REPAIR OPPORTUNITY NOTICE" VIA THE LEMON LAW. *TR
CAR WAS PARKED ON A PARKING LOT ON A VERY SLIGHT DECLINE. LOW FUEL INDICATOR JUST CAME ON BUT DISTANCE TO EMPTY INDICATOR STILL SHOWS 50+ MILES. VEHICLE STARTED AT FIRST BUT STARTED TO SHUDDER AND THEN ENGINE DIED. TRIED RESTARTING A FEW TIMES BUT IT WILL JUST SHUT OFF RIGHT AWAY. ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WERE FINE (RADIO, LIGHTS, ETC). HAD TO PUT 2 GALLONS OF GAS TO GET IT TO START AGAIN. DROVE TO THE GAS STATION RIGHT AWAY AND FILLED IT UP WITH ONLY 14.5 GALLONS OF TANK. MANUAL SAYS VEHICLE HAS 20 GALLON FUEL TANK CAPACITY. I WAS AWARE OF THE RECALL (CAMPAIGN: 12V076000) BUT INITIALLY THOUGHT THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED SINCE THE CAMPAIGN WAS BACK IN MARCH 2012 AND I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN JULY 2012. WAS LATER CONFIRMED BY NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR THAT MY CAR WAS INDEED NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. HOWEVER, CAR SHOWS SIMILAR SYMPTOMS WITH SAME MODEL CARS THAT WERE RECALLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT ACCURATELY DISPLAYING THE LEVEL OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH DUE TO LOW FUEL ALTHOUGH THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE TANK WAS HALF FULL. THE CONTACT INQUIRED WITH THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. NUMBER: 12V076000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: SOFTWARE) BEFORE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE AND THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL. THE CONTACT DID NOT TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH AND APPROACHED A TRAFFIC STOP SIGNAL. WHEN PULLING OFF FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THERE WAS A DELAYED RESPONSE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SPORADICALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM OR GENERATE A TROUBLE DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100. UPDATED 7/31/12 *CN UPDATED 08/01/12
MY NEW 2012 NISSAN QUEST GOES DEAD AND WILL NOT START WHEN SITTING ON A DOWNHILL SLOPE IN THE FRONT. IT HAS GAS BUT IT WILL SPUTTER AND WILL NOT START. MY DRIVEWAY GOES DOWNHILL AND I CANNOT EVEN PARK IN DRIVEWAY I HAVE TO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED I PUT VAN IN NEUTRAL TO POSSIBLY GET IT LEVEL AND WITHOUT NOTICE THE BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK WHEN IN NEUTRAL AND MY BRAND NEW VAN RAN THRU THE GARAGE DOOR!!!!! WHEN YOU PAY ALL THAT MONEY FOR A NISSAN THAT YOU CONSIDER RELIABLE REALLY BOTHERS ME!!! TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TODAY WE WILL SEE WHAT COMES OF IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS HALF FULL AND THE CONTACT ADDED AN ADDITIONAL ONE FOURTH A TANK OF GASOLINE BUT THE VEHICLE STILL WOULD NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS NEITHER DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED FOR THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 3000.
VAN WAS PARKED NOSE DOWN ON APPROX. 10 TO 12 DEGREE HILL. VAN REFUSED TO START AND HAD BE TOWED TO DEALER. WAS TOLD NISSAN WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND WAS WORKING ON A FIX. WAS THAN TOLD TO KEEP AT LEAST HALF A TANK OF GAS IN VAN AT ALL TIMES. *TR ....
VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TRAVELING UP A 2-3% GRADE. IT APPEARED TO RUN OUT OF FUEL ALTHOUGH THE NAVIGATION DISPLAY INDICATED THERE WERE 21 MILES UNTIL EMPTY. THE FUEL GAUGE ALSO INDICATED FUEL REMAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 45 MPH AND FORTUNATELY IT COASTED TO THE TOP OF THE GRADE. AT THAT POINT, THE ENGINE BEGAN RECEIVING FUEL ONCE AGAIN AND KICKED IN. THIS APPEARS TO BE SIMILAR TO PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED ON THE 2011 MODEL YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING ON A TWO LANE NARROW ROAD AROUND A BLIND CURVE WITH NO PLACE TO PULL OFF. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION HAD THE VEHICLE'S MOMENTUM NOT CARRIED IT TO THE TOP OF THE GRADE. CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED ON 02/06/2012 AND THE GM STATED THAT IT WAS THE SECOND CALL ABOUT A 2012 QUEST FUEL ISSUE HE HAS RECEIVED. THE OTHER INVOLVED A VEHICLE PARKED ON AN INCLINE THAT WOULD NOT START AND APPEARED TO NOT BE GETTING FUEL ALTHOUGH THE NAVIGATION AND GAUGE INDICATED THERE WAS FUEL IN THE TANK. WHEN ADDITIONAL FUEL WAS ADDED THAT VEHICLE STARTED. ALSO CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON 02/06/12 AND FILED A COMPLAINT PROVIDING THEM WITH DETAILS OF THE SITUATION. HAVE NOT HEARD BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP OR NISSAN AS OF 02/11/2012. *TR
MY NEW 2012 NISSAN QUEST WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY WITH THE FRONT SLIGHTLY FACING DOWN LOOKING AT THE ROAD WITH LESS THAN QUARTER TANK OF GAS. THE VAN WOULD START BUT WOULD NOT STAY IDLE AND THE DASH BOARD INDICATED THAT THE VAN HAD ENOUGH GAS TO GO 25 MILES. I HAD TO PUT THE VAN IN NEUTRAL TO ROLL IT DOWN THE STREET (FLAT SURFACE) BEFORE IT CAN BE STARTED AND KEPT ON IDLE. WHEN YOU ROLL THE VAN DOWN IN NEUTRAL WITH THE ENGINE OFF YOU LOOSE YOUR POWER BRAKES, SO I HAD TO MAKE SURE THERE WERE NO CARS COMING FROM EITHER SIDE. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE NISSAN DEALER, ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER, AND THE DEALER KEPT THE CAR FOR COUPLE OF DAYS BUT COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT NISSAN ENGINEERING TEAM WILL BE CONTACTING ME FOR FURTHER ACTION, AND IN THE MEANTIME I AM SUPPOSED TO KEEP THE GAS TANK FILLED ABOVE THE 1/4 TANK MARK AT ALL TIMES. FOR US (WITH OUR QUEST), IT IS ONLY AN ISSUE WHEN THE GAS TANK IS LOW ON GAS BELOW THE 1/4 TANK MARK AND IT IS PARKED IN AN INCLINE WITH THE FRONT FACING DOWN OR DURING A SHARP VEHICLE TURN WITH THE GAS TANK VERY LOW. HOPEFULLY NISSAN WILL FIND A FIX FOR THIS SOON, BECAUSE I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY. *TR
PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2012 NISSAN QUEST JUST WEEKS AGO, CURRENT MILEAGE 320. ENGINE STALLED WITH LITTLE LESS THAN QUARTER TANK OF GAS IN A SLOW TURN. COMPUTER INDICATED THAT THE VAN HAD ENOUGH GAS FOR 30 MILES TRAVEL. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO CARS BEHIND US, SO I WAS ABLE TO APPLY THE BRAKE AND RESTART THE CAR TO THE NEAREST GAS STATION. CONTACTED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THE NEXT DAY, THE SERVICE ADVISER ADVISED ME TO MAKE SURE NOT TO LET THE GAS TANK GO DOWN BELOW 1/4 TANK. AFTER READING ALL OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM CURRENT QUEST OWNERS, I WILL BE CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER, INCLUDING THE DEALERSHIP FIRST THING TOMORROW. I AM NOT SURE IF I CAN RETURN THE VEHICLE, EVENTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN LESS THAN 30 DAYS SINCE THE PURCHASE DATE.

NISSAN IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011-2012 NISSAN QUEST VEHICLES, MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 29, 2010, THROUGH FEBRUARY 21, 2012. DUE TO SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING, WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS OR IDLING ON A DECLINE WITH ¼ TANK FUEL OR LESS, THERE MAY BE AN INSUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF FUEL TO THE ENGINE. AS A RESULT, THE ENGINE MAY STALL.
