The car shut off while I was driving mid speed. This has happened multiple times luckily I wasnt on the highway. But this has happened many times so glad no other cars hit me, or I didnt crash with my kids in the car. This is so scary and I need Cadillac to look into this issue.
DIC(Digital information cluster) fails to come on when I start the car. This is an electronic dashboard and also affects all the steering wheel Controls including cruise control, turning signals and heads up display.Without the system you are essentially driving blind. I notified Cadillac customer service A few months ago and they said they would replace the part but I would have to pay for the labor but they have not done so thus far. This instrument failure apparently happens often and through 2015 they had a service call to replace the part but I was not notified and it did not happen in my car until recently.
The contact owns a 2013 Cadillac XTS. The contact stated while driving 15 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with nothing needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact then stated 3 months later, the vehicle stalled again. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with the radio module needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred a month later. The contact then took the vehicle back to the dealer where it was diagnosed with the battery needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred four months later. The contact then took the vehicle back to dealer where it was diagnosed with the radio needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer for the fourth time where it was diagnosed with an unknown fuse needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 72,435.

LEFT BRAKE LIGHT REPAIRED NUMEROUS TIMES- UNDER AND AFTER WARRANTY, STILL NOT WORKING. CUE SYSTEM CRACKED POST WARRANTY NOT USABLE, NAVAGATION HAZZARD, BACKUP HAZZARD DOES NOT ALLOW FOR HANDS FREE DRIVING. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE, SHOULD BE A RECALL AS REPLACEMENT IS VERY COSTLY AND THE PROBLEM REPEATS WITH THE REPLACEMENT ITEM CUE.
CADILLAC CUE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. CUE HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE NOW AND THE SAME ISSUE KEEPS HAPPENING, FIRST IT CRACKS AND THEN YOU LOOSE TOUCH SCREEN THEN IT GOES BLACK. NO GPS AVAILABLE MAKING MY COMMUTES DANGEROUS.
THE SUSPENSION IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING TOTALLY COLLAPSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO ONE FIRST GETTING INTO AND STARTING THE CAR. MECHANIC REPLACED A RELAY SWITCH BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUES STILL. I HAVE LOOKED ONLINE AND FOUND MANY SIMILAR ACCOUNTS FROM VARIOUS OWNERS OF THIS YEAR AND MODEL!
THE SUSPENSION OF THE VEHICLE GIVES OUT AND A CORNER OF THE CAR WILL SLAM TO THE GROUND WHILE DRIVING. IT CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. YEAR OVER YEAR WE HAVE HAD THE " SERVICE LEVELING SYSTEM " ERROR COME UP FOR OUR VEHICLE. IT IS NOT ONLY EXPENSIVE BUT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE NOT KNOWING WHEN THE SUSPENSION WILL GIVE OUT. DEALERSHIPS HAVE MADE MULTIPLE REPAIRS AND UPDATES TO NO AVAIL. NOTHING SEEMS TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
THE BATTERY CABLE, SPECIFICALLY THE POSITIVE ONE, DOES NOT CONDUCT THE ELECTRICITY FROM THE FULLY CHARGED BATTERY TO THE STARTED, LEAVING THE CAR TO NOT START, OR TAKE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO START. EVEN THOUGH THE BATTERY IF FULLY CHARGED, THE VOLTS MAKING IT TO THE CARE ARE 9-10 VOLTS. VOLTMETER SUGGESTS THAT THERE ARE 12 VOLTS IN BATTERY, BUT ONLY ABOUT 9 IN THE POSITIVE CABLE. I'M TOLD THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE IN THESE MODELS, AND THAT IT'S DUE TO A LOOSELY WOUND CABLE.
I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN DECEMBER, 2019. THE FIRST PROBLEM IS THAT THEY HAD TO CHANGED THE RADIO. THE SECOND PROBLEM WITH THE CAR IS THAT THE HAZARD 4-WAY FLASHER STOPPED WORKING AND WAS ON PERMANENTLY AND BECAUSE OF THAT IT KILLED THE CAR BATTERY. I CALLED THE CADILLAC DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE CAR IN. I GIT IT JUMPED START AND TOOK IT IN THAT WAS IN AUGUST, 2020. THEY TOLD ME THE SWITCH WAS NO LONGER GOOD AND NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. IT COST ME OVER $400 TO BE FIXED. ON THE DAY I PICKED UP THE CAR I NOTICED IT A SIGNED ON THE DASH BUT I DID NOT KNOW WHAT IT MEANT BUT THE CAR STARTED TO BOUNCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY I WAS ON MY WAY TO NY FROM NY SO I TOOK LOTS OF HIGHWAY, FROM 287, RT 80 AND SO ON INTO LONG BRANCH, NY. ON MY WAY I ALMOST LOST MY LIFE BECAUSE THE CAR WAS BOUNCING OUT OF CONTROL. I CALLED THE DEALER AND REPORTED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. MATTHEW TOLD ME TO BRING BACK THE CAR TO SEE WHAT HAPPED. I LEFT THE CAR FOR COUPLE OF DAYS I THINK IT WAS 8/28/2020. HE CALLED ME ON 9/1/2020 TO LET ME KNOW THAT THE AIR SUSPENSION CONTROL MODULE HAD FAILED AND IT WOULD COST ME OVER $1700.00 TO BE FIXED. SINCE THAT TIME THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN MY DRIVE WAY AND CANNOT DRIVE BECAUSE I DO NOT HAVE THAT MONEY TO GET IT FIX. THE CAR ONLY HAD 56,000 MILES ON IT AND THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPEN. DOES THIS CAR HAS A DEFECT AND SHOULD BE RECALLED? I AM PAYING CAR PAYMENT AND INSURANCE FOR A DEFECTED CAR. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO HERE. VEHICLE RADIO AND DASHBOARD IS COMPLETELY BLACKOUT, STARTED FLASHING AND LATER WENT BLACK IN A MONTH TIME.
I BARELY HAVE UNDER 37,000 MILES ON THIS CAR HAVEN'T OWNED IT TO LONG .. AND I AM VERY DISAPOINTED IN THE RIDE OF THE CAR IT FEELS LIKE IF YOU ARE GOING OVER A SMALL BUMP IN THE ROAD LIKE YOU HAVE HIT A GUTTER ALMOST.. I THOUGHT CADILLACS WERE SUPPOSE TO BE THE BEST RIDE.. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE A WARRANTY PROBLEM I THINK IT HAD 35,000 WHEN WE BOUGHT IT WE USUALLY LEAVE FOR THE WINTER SO ITS STORED IN ARE GARAGE. I FEEL VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE RIDE OF MY 2013 CADILLAC. I HAVE THE AIR PRESSURE CHECKED WHICH I AM SHOWING CHANGES DOWN TO 31 29 ETC. IT FEELS LIKE YOU ARE HITTING A SPEED TRAP THAT HAS BEEN DUG OUT .. NOT SURE WHY WHEN GOING ON CITY ROAD IN LAYTON FEELS LIKE IT GOING 30 50 40 MILES AND ON THE FREEWAY IF THERE IS ANY INDENTATIONS IT MAKES ME CRINGE WHEN I SEE A BUMP IN THE ROAD THAT I CANNOT GET OVER. I HAVE A WARNING SERVICE SIDE DETECTION ON MY DIC AND I TOOK IT TO THE CADILLAC DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME $1500 TO CHANGE A MODULE IN THE REAR BUMPER. THEY KNOW THAT THIS A COMMON ISSUE WITH A LOT OF GM VEHICLES ESPECIALLY CADILLAC. I WANT TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THIS AND ASK FOR A RECALL BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT IF I DON'T FIX THIS ISSUE IT WILL STOP OTHER THINGS IN VEHICLE FROM WORKING LIKE THE BRAKES OR STEERING WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. AFTER DRIVING AROUND TOWN FOR 30 MINUTES, I PARKED THE CAR, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, GOT OUT TO TALK TO A NEIGHBOR 6 HOUSES AWAY FROM WHERE I LIVE. 10 MINUTES LATER, I GOT BACK IN THE CAR, AND DROVE FOR HOME. THE FIRST LITTLE CRACK IN THE ROAD MADE THE CAR RIDE LIKE A GO CART. AFTER A FEW MORE FEET, I COULD TELL SOMETHING WAS WRONG, SO I PULLED OVER, AND GOT OUT, AND SAW THE REAR OF THE CAR SQUATTING DOWN TO WHERE THE TOP OF THE WHEEL OPENING WAS WAY PAST THE TOP THE THE REAR TIRE. I LEFT THE CAR RUNNING AND COULD HEAR THE AIR COMPRESSOR RUNNING, AND WATCHED TO SEE IF IT WAS RAISING THE REAR END TO A LEVEL POSITION, BUT AFTER 30 SECONDS, IT WASN'T RAISING. SO I GOT BACK IN AND LIMPED HOME, SCRAPING THE STREET AS I TURNED IN TO A SLIGHTLY INCLINED DRIVEWAY, AND PARKED IT IN THE GARAGE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. I GOT OUT TO LISTEN FOR THE AIR COMPRESSOR TO KICK ON AND AFTER 2 MINUTES, IT DID NOT KICK ON, SO I GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND STARTED IT UP, THEN GOT OUT WHILE IT WAS RUNNING , TO HEAR IF THE COMPRESSOR WOULD KICK ON THO RAISE THE REAR END UP TO LEVEL. IT DID NOT KICK ON, SO I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, AND LET IT SIT FOR AN HOUR, THEN GOT IN IT AND STARTED IT UP, AND GOT OUT TO LISTEN FOR THE AIR COMPRESSOR TO KICK ON. IT DID KICK ON AND I COULD SEE THE REAR END RAISING UP, AND IT CONTINUED TO RUN AND LIFT UNTIL IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL OPERATING LEVEL, AT WHICH TIME THE COMPRESSOR SHUT OFF. I TURNED OFF THE CAR, AND LET IT SIT OVERNIGHT. WHEN I CHECKED IT IN THE MORNING, IT WAS STILL IN THE NORMAL OPERATING LEVEL, AND IT HAS NOT MALFUNCTIONED IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS 200 MILES. IT HAS 70,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I TOOK IT TO THE CADILLAC DEALER AND THEY CHECKED IT OUT, BUT IT DID NOT HAVE ANY CODES TO SHOW WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM IF IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH DOWN THE ROAD, AND BOTTOMS OUT AT THAT SPEED. VERY LEAST IT NEEDS A SAFETY STOP
FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS, THE CAR HAS BEEN LOSING ALL ELECTRICAL POWER. MOST RECENTLY THE CAR LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING. ALL OTHER TIMES THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE SATURDAY 02/22/20, WHEN DIED WHILE DRIVING.
MY 2013 CADILLAC XTS4 PREMIUM REAR SUSPENSION LEVEL SYSTEM DEFLATED WHILE DRIVING AND DIDNT STAY RAISED IN THE REAR. I PULLED OVER TO SEE AND THE REAR END WAS TOO LOW. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES. I STARTED THE CAR AND IT RAISED UP UNTIL IT REACHED HEIGHT LEVEL. I THEN DROVE OFF AND A FEW MINUTES LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. WHEN I STOP AND PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR, THE AIR COMPRESSOR KICKS IN AND RAISES THE CAR TO LEVEL AND THE AIR COMPRESSOR SHUTS OFF ONCE HEIGHT LEVEL IS ACHIEVED. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD MANY SUSPENSION PROBLEMS WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL AND I WOULD NEED NEW STRUTS, SHOCKS, AIR SPRINGS, AIR RIDE COMPRESSOR, AND AIR LINES. I'M OUT OF WARRANTY AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR ALL OF THAT. IT WAS RIDING FINE AND THE NEXT DAY IT JUST GAVE UP. THE SUSPENSION FEELS LIKE A PIECE OF JUNK AND I NEED A NEW SUSPENSION FOR THE XTS AND I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE RESOLVED AND PAID FOR BY GM. THE CAR COULD'VE LOST CONTROL AND COULD'VE KILLED ME AND MY PASSENGERS ALONG WITH ANYONE AROUND ME IN THE FREEWAY. IT WAS RIDING FINE AND WITHIN SECONDS, THE ENTIRE SUSPENSION FAILED. I WANT GM TO FIX MY SUSPENSION BECAUSE IT FAILED AFTER WARRANTY EXPIRED.
THE CUE SCREEN HAS GONE BLACK FOR THE SECOND TIME WITHIN A YEAR. I INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS A DEFECT WITH THE SCREEN ITSELF THE FIRST TIME AROUND. I TOOK IT TO PRESTIGE CADILLAC AND HAD IT REPLACED. EVERYTHING WORKED FINE UNTIL ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO WHEN IT WENT OUT AGAIN. NOT ONLY DID THE SCREEN GO OUT AGAIN, BUT ALL THE STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS AND MY TURN SIGNALS. I TOOK IT TO PRESTIGE AGAIN AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE RADIO RECEIVER WHICH COSTS $800+ TO REPLACE. I SUGGESTED THEY LOOK INTO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE $650 TO GET A DIAGNOSIS, AND REPAIRS COULD BE IN EXCESS OF 2K. I'M APPALLED THAT I SHOULD EVEN HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR THIS FAULTY VEHICLE. I DIDN'T BUILD IT!

YOU'VE KNOWN ABOUT IT EVER SINCE 2014 AND HAVE DONE EVERYTHING TO AVOID OWNING AND FIXING IT. I'M REFERRING TO THE TOUCH SCREEN ON (ALMOST) ALL OF YOUR CARS FROM MODEL YEARS 2013 THROUGH 2018. NOT ONLY DOES THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM NO LONGER WORK BUT CADILLAC OWNERS CAN'T ACCESS THE RADIO, HEAT/COOL CONTROLS, FAN CONTROL, DEFROST SETTINGS, ETC. THIS BECOMES A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN I HAVE TO TAKE MY EYES OFF THE ROAD TO TRY ALTERNATIVE MEASURES. I CAN'T EVEN USE THE CAR'S PHONE ICON IN EMERGENCIES. FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE TOUCH SCREEN. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC XTS. AFTER EXITING THE DRIVEWAY, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO OPERATE ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS OFF BALANCE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG FELL FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE AS AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE BACK HOME AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE HIMSELF, BUT HE WAS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH HAWK CADILLAC OF JOLIET (2001 W JEFFERSON ST, JOLIET, IL 60435, 815-600-7027) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.
THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY SHUT DOWN. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC. THE WHOLE CAR JUST STOPPED. WITH NO CONTROL, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE SIDE OF HIGHWAY. THE FLASHERS WAS THE ONLY THING WORKING. FROM TIME TO TIME IT WOULD APPEAR THAT THE BATTERY WAS DEAD BUT IT WAS A NEW BATTERY. MY FEAR IS THAT THE THE WILL DO THIS ON THE INTERSTATE. ALSO, THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOES NOT WORK.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
"TAKATA RECALL" CUE TOUCH SCREEN NOT FUNCTIONING
ON TWO OCCASIONS THE CAR WOULD NOT START WITHIN APPROXIMATELY 10 - 15 MINUTES OF HAVING BEEN TURNED OFF. AFTER INSPECTION THE DEALER FOUND THAT THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT FAULT IN THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY (DTC CODE P2119 THROTTLE CLOSED POSITION PERFORMANCE). A PASSENGER IN THE COURTESY CAR FROM THE DEALER TOLD ME HE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT RECALL WHAT WAS DIAGNOSED.

THE CUE SYSTEM IN MY CAR DOES NOT WORK AND HAS NOT WORKED SINCE SEPTEMBER, 2018. THIS AFFECTS THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM, PHONE SYSTEM, CLIMATE CONTROLS (HEATING AND COOLING), RADIO AND WEATHER CHANNEL. RIGHT NOW THE SYSTEM IS FROZEN. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN KNOW BY CADILLAC SINCE 2013.
6 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THE CUE SYSTEM COMPLETELY STOP FUNCTIONING SO I HAD THAT REPLACED AT LEE CHEVROLET COSTING AROUND $1000. NOW THE REAR SHOCKS ARE STUCK IN THE UPWARD POSITION CAUSING A RIDE SIMILAR TO A GOCART. THIS IS GOING TO BE MY LAST REPAIR ON THIS VEHICLE THEN IT WILL BE NO MORE CADILLAC'S FOR ME. CONSUMER TOOK IT TO THE PUTMAN CHEVROLET CADILLAC WAS RUNNING WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. THEY REPLACED A CRACKED BOOT THAT RAN FROM THE AIR FILTER HOUSING TO THE THROTTLE BODY. WITHOUT WARNING THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AND ALL LIGHTS, DASH PANEL, POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, ETC COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN REQUIRING THE CAR TO COAST TO A STOP AND PUT INTO PARK AT WHICH TIME THE CAR WILL RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 10 TIMES IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME IT WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE BATTERY AND REPLACED BUT OCCURRED AGAIN A MONTH LATER AND THEY HAD NO CODES TO INDICATE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. ON TWO OCCASIONS THE CAR LOST POWER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND WOULDN'T START FOR 10 MINUTES AT WHICH TIME IT SUDDENLY HAD POWER WITH THE RADIO AND LIGHTS TURNING ON AGAIN. LOOKING ONLINE I'VE FOUND NUMEROUS ISSUES SIMILAR TO MINE WITH 2013 MODELS BUT NO FIXES HAVE BEEN FOUND. THERE HAS BEEN A TIME IN THE LAST 15 DAYS THAT THE POWER DID NOT RETURN AND I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. TURNS OUT THAT RESULTED IN A FUSE REPLACEMENT FOR $125. THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS WILL RANDOMLY COME ON AND THE DEALER WOULD NOT COVER IT UNTIL I CALLED GM HEADQUARTERS AND THEY GOT THE DEALER TO COVER IT UNDER A NOTICE ISSUED FOR THE VEHICLES OF MY TYPE BUT NOT MY VIN NUMBER. MY BRAKES SQUEAK FREQUENTLY BUT THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT IS NORMAL BUT WILL NOT TELL ME IF THE RECALL HAD BEEN FIXED FOR THAT ITEM. MY BRAKE LIGHTS AND FLASHERS WILL COME ON WHEN I AM DRIVING, STARTING THE CAR OR PARK THE CARE AND LEAVE IT FOR SOME TIME. THE WEATHER WAS CLOUDY AND TEMPERATURE WAS ABOUT 60 DEGREES. NO DEBRIS PRESENT, THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR TO THE SIDE OF ME. I WAS NOT GOING UNDER AN UNDERPASS. FROM THE STARTLING NOISE THERE COULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED ME OR MY FAMILY HARM OR DEATH. I BELIEVE THESE SUNROOFS NEED ANOTHER LOOK.

THE EXPERIENCE WITH ARMEN WAS, WITHOUT A DOUBT, THE WORST CAR EXPERIENCE IN MY 40+ YEARS OF DRIVING. FIRST OFF, MY 2013 XTS PLATINUM HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT IT. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT A YEAR I HAD A SEVERE SHIMMY AND VIBRATION IN THE WHEELS THAT SCARED THE HELL OUT OF ME. TOOK IT IN AND WAS TOLD ALL 4 WHEELS WERE DAMAGED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, TED ROBINSON WENT TO BAT FOR ME AND GOT THEM REPLACED ($3400) BY CADILLAC. FLASH FORWARD ANOTHER YEAR, SEVERE SHIMMY SAME ISSUE-4 MORE BAD WHEELS. I WAS TOLD THAT POTHOLES WERE BAD THIS YEAR. IN 40 YEARS OF DRIVING I'VE NEVER DAMAGED A SINGLE WHEEL IN MY LIFE. TED WAS ABLE TO GET CADILLAC TO COVER HALF THE COST OF THE WHEELS WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE. I THEN CALLED THE OWNER WHO CALLED ME BACK 3 DAYS LATER AND TELLS ME THAT'S ALL THEY CAN DO AND DEMANDS THE LOANER CAR BACK IMMEDIATELY. RECALL NOW THAT MY CAR ISN'T FINISHED AND THEY ARE STILL DEMANDING THE CAR BACK. ARMEN BECAME AGGRESSIVE WITH ME ON THE PHONE AND I HUNG UP. JUST BEFORE I DID HE SAID THEY WOULD COME TO ME AND GET THE CAR. AT THIS POINT I FELT THREATENED AND ACTED UNDER DURESS. I TOLD TED TO FIX THE WHEELS SO I COULD GET THE CAR AN GO. MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED A NEW 2013 CADILLAC XTS A YEAR AGO AND HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE VOGUE TIRES AND RIMS THAT CAME WITH THE CAR. THE TIRES ARE VOGUE M&S 245/40R20 99VXL AND WE BELIEVE THEY ARE A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. A FEW MONTHS AGO THE FRONT TIRES HAD A MAJOR VIBRATION ISSUE SO I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE AND HAD IT CHECKED OUT. THE DEALER STATED THAT I HAD A BAD TIRE AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO BUY ANOTHER ONE WHICH I PAID $100.00 FOR. THE RIMS STARTED TO PEEL AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RIMS ARE NOT UNDER A WARRANTY. AFTER THAT, A FEW DAYS AGO THE CAR STARTED TO VIBRATE AGAIN IN THE FRONT SO I TOOK THE CARE IN FOR SERVICE. THE DEALER HAD A TECHNICIAN AND I TO PERFORM A ROAD TEST AND THE CAR COMMENCE TO VIBRATE IN THE FRONT AT A HIGHWAY SPEED OF 65MPH AS VERIFIED BY THE TECH. AFTER A FEW HOURS THE DEALER STATED THAT DUE TO THE LOW PROFILE OF THE TIE THIS ISSUE WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN. THE TECH SHOWED ME THAT NOW I HAVE A BENT RIM IN THE FRONT AND AGAIN HE STATED THAT DUE TO THIS TYPE OF RIM AND TIRE THIS ISSUE WILL CONTINUE. THEY (THE DEALER) PERFORMED A ROAD FORCE BALANCE OF THE BENT RIM AND PLACED THE RIM ON THE DRIVER REAR. THE DEALER PERFORMED AN ALL WHEEL DRIVE ALIGNMENT WHICH I PAID FOR) AND FOUND OUT THAT DUE TO THE BENT RIM THE TOE WAS OUT AND HAD TO BE CORRECTED. I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE DEALER STATING THAT DUE TO THE TYPE OF LOW PROFILE TIRES AND RIMS WHICH CAME WITH THE CAR THAT THIS ISSUE WILL CONTINUE TO HAPPEN UNTIL ALL THE RIMS ARE BENT AND THAT I WOULD HALF TO BUY NEW RIMS. THE CAR SHUT OFF AND THERE WERE NO POWER BRAKES OR POWER STEERING. I IMAGINE THE AIR BAGS WOULDN'T WORK EITHER. TO RESTART THE CAR, IT NEEDS TO BE IN PARK OR NEUTRAL WITH THE BREAK APPLIED. IN EIGHT YEARS SHE HAS USED CUSHION, WE HAVE OWNED 5 CARS AND HAVE RENTED OVER 40 CARS AND SHE HAS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG ACTIVATION. CADILLAC SAYS THE SYSTEM IS OK. I ASKED TO TRY ON ANOTHER XTS AND IT STILL DID NOT ACTIVATE. THIS IS A DESIGN PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THAT SOME CUSHIONS MIGHT INTERFERE WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM, BUT THIS THIN CUSHION DOES NOT. I SHOULD SAY IT WORKS IN CORVETTES AND WORKED IN THE LOANER 2013 CTS CADILLAC. THE SEAT IN THE XTS IS A NEW DESIGN AND I BELIEVE IT IS DEFECTIVE. THE SEAT IS NOT FLAT AND REQUIRES A MUCH HEAVIER PERSON TO ACTIVATE THE AIRBAG. I BELIEVE THIS IS UNSAFE. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS THAT MANY OLDER PEOPLE, SUCH AS WOULD PURCHASE A CADILLAC, DO USE CUSHIONS AND WILL EITHER NOT BE AWARE OF OR WILL IGNORE THE FACT THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT WORK. I RETURNED MY CADILLAC (AND LOST $14,000) AS I HAD TO CHOOSE BETWEEN MY WIFE OR THE CAR. I PURCHASED A LEXUS LS460 AND THE AIRBAG WORKED PERFECTLY WITH HER CUSHION. *TR
THE NEW CADILLAC TOUCH-SCREEN INTERFACE IS A HORRIBLE SAFETY ISSUE. WHY DOES NO ONE AT CADILLAC REMEMBER HOW IMPORTANT ERGONOMICS ARE FOR SAFETY, AND HOW ALMOST EVERYTHING IN THE CAR MUST BE OPERABLE BY FEEL, ALLOWING THE DRIVER TO KEEP HIS EYES ON THE ROAD? TOUCH-SCREEN OFFERS NO TACTILE FEEDBACK. IT DEMANDS THAT THE DRIVER TAKE HIS EYES OFF THE ROAD. ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS ABOUT HOW BAD TEXTING-WHILE-DRIVING IS ARE NOW COMMON. AND NOW A CAR COMPANY, CADILLAC, NO LESS, COMES OUT WITH AN INTERFACE THAT REQUIRES THE CAR BE OPERATED BY "TEXTING". TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE! HOW MANY PEOPLE INVOLVED HERE, INCLUDING THE FOLKS WHO DESIGNED AND EXECUTED THE ADVERTISING, WERE "ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL"? AND THIS FROM A "LEADING" CAR COMPANY!?!?! IT IS TIME TO RECALL ALL CARS THAT HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A TOUCH-SCREEN INTERFACE AND REPLACE THOSE INTERFACES WITH A PROPERLY DESIGNED TACTILE INTERFACE. I AM DEFINITELY AGAINST THE LITIGIOUSNESS OF OUR SOCIETY, BUT THE FIRST TIME SOMEONE CRASHES BECAUSE THEY ARE FOOLISHLY INTERACTING WITH YOUR RIDICULOUS TOUCH-SCREEN INTERFACE, I HOPE SOME LAWYER SUES CADILLAC (AND INDIVIDUALLY EVERY PERSON AT CADILLAC WORKING ON OR RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ATROCITY OF AN INTERFACE) OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH. General Motors is recalling certain model year 2013 Cadillac XTS vehicles manufactured from October 12, 2011, through August 30, 2012, for failing to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 202, "Head Restraints." The rear seat head restraints may not lock in the upright position after being folded forward. If the head restriant is at its lowest position and it falls forward, it will not meet the height required by the standard.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013 Cadillac ATS and model year 2013 Cadillac XTS; model year 2014 Chevrolet Impala; and 2013 Chevrolet Sonic vehicles. Originally, in May 2013, GM recalled 1,627 model year 2013 Cadillac ATS and model year 2013 Cadillac XTS; and model year 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles. In October 2013, GM informed the agency that it was adding model year 2013 Chevrolet Sonic vehicles to this campaign , representing an additional 8,050 units. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 9,677. On the affected vehicles, the brake lamps may intermittently flash without the brakes being applied and the cruise control may disengage. Thus, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Cadillac XTS vehicles manufactured February 14, 2012, through March 7, 2014. In the affected vehicles, a cavity plug on the brake booster pump connector may dislodge allowing corrosion of the brake booster pump relay connector.
