The contact owns a 2013 Infiniti G37. The contact stated that while driving at 30 MPH, the vehicle hesitated upon depression of the accelerator pedal without warning. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to a dealer where they replaced the transmission valve battery. Soon after the repair, the contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate without warning upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact took the vehicle back to dealer and was informed that the control valve assembly and the speed sensor also needed to be replaced. The contact drove the vehicle home and replaced the control valve assembly himself. After the repair, the contact stated that while driving up an incline, the vehicle would hesitate upon depression of the accelerator without warning. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

The air bag warning light for the passenger air bag on my 2013 Infiniti G37 is constantly flashing on my dash and the passenger air bag off message is always on in my vehicle, even when my wife is sitting in the seat, and I have not had an accident. The light just started flashing on its own approximately 6 months ago. This would seem to me to be a legitimate safety issue. If I were in an accident, regardless of whose fault, and my wife was in the passenger's seat, she could sustain serious injuries due to the fact that the passenger air bag did not deploy due to a faulty sensor.

Approximately 2 months ago, the air bag warning light on the dash started flashing along with the icon on the front display warning about the passenger side airbag being off. There was no person sitting in the seat, nor was there any small items on the passenger seat. I looked up online how to reset the dash warning light and this worked up until about one week ago. Also, when someone now sits in the passenger seat, the warning light starts flashing along with the front display warning of the passenger side airbag being off. This would seem like a manufacturer defect and a safety hazard for any front passenger in my vehicle.

The airbag light on the dash was flashing. The airbag light that indicates the passenger airbag is not on stays on even if a person is sitting in the passenger seat. This means that the airbag is not active when there is someone sitting in the passenger seat. If I got into an accident and the passenger airbag did not deploy, it could cause serious bodily injury to the passenger. The cost to repair is more than half of what the car is worth. In the picture, you can see the second item in the list is to replace the passenger seat sensor.

I RECENTLY REPLACED MY COOPER TIRE CS5 GRAND TOURING TIRES. SIZE 225/55R17 TIRES AFTER A BLOWOUT ON THE FREEWAY. I JUST LEARNED THAT THESE TIRES WERE SUBJECT TO A RECALL. MY DEALER COULD NOT PROVIDE THE DOT SERIAL NUMBERS BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH NEW ONES. I CALLED COOPER TIRE CONSUMER RELATIONS AND WAS TOLD THEY CANNOT PROVIDE A REMEDY IF I DO NOT HAVE THE TIRES WITH THE DOT NUMBERS. I BELIEVE I HAVE BEEN PENALIZED BECAUSE I HAD A SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES THAT CAUSED ME TO REPLACE THEM AND CAN THEREFORE NOT PROVIDE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION. ON THE SUNNY AND DRY MORNING OF DECEMBER 9, 2020, I PROCEEDED TO ALPINE CEMETERY, PERTH AMBOY, NJ TO HONOR MY MOTHER'S GRAVE SITE AND HER ANNIVERSARY. PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR FAILED AND RESULTS IN A $7000 FIX. THEIR SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM IS A BRAND NEW SEAT. MY SON EXITED THE VEHICLE AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AND NOW DOESN'T STOP, WHICH MEANS THE AIRBAG ISN'T ON. ALSO, ONE OF THE MOTORS RESPONSIBLE FOR A FLAP WHICH FOLDS THE TOP DOWN HAS FAILED, MAKING THE TOP STOP HALFWAY DOWN. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP HAS FOUR MOTORS (ONE FOR EACH FLAP). AND IT'S NEARLY $2000 PER MOTOR. THE PART IS BACK ORDERED, SO IT MAKES ME THINK IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM. BOTH OF THESE ISSUES ARE COMMONLY REPORTED BY G37 OWNERS ON THE INTERNET.

HOWEVER LIGHT DOES NOT ILLUMINATE IN THIS CASE. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP THE SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS UNDERWAY AT ANY SPEED WITH ADULT PASSENGER AND SEAT BELTS FASTENED. WHEN A FULL SIZE ADULT (175 TO 200 LBS. IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE AIR BAG ILLUMINATES WHICH CONTRADICTS THE DEALERSHIPS FINDINGS. DEALERSHIP IS LOKEY INFINITI OF CLEARWATER, FL WHO EXAMINED THE SYSTEM ON 8-18-2018.

IT SEEMS "OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM" (OCS) IS NOT WORKING AS IT SHOULD MAKING CAR COMPUTER THINK THAT A CHILD IS SITTING ON FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE HAD MY CAR CHECKED BY DEALER TWICE BUT THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AND STATED THAT "IT'S WORKING AS DESIGNED" BUT THE ISSUE STILL PERSIST. ON NHTSA WEB SITE I FOUND OUT MANY OTHER OWNERS OF INFINITI 2013 G37 ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE WITH PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. I ALSO CHECKED FOR ANY RECALL MY CAR BUT DID NOT FIND ANY, HOWEVER THERE WAS A RECALL ON "OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM" FOR 2013 JX35. I SUSPECT 2013 G37 "OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM" HAS SIMILAR ISSUE AS 2013 JX35. ON BEHALF OF ALL 2013 G37 OWNER, WE WOULD BE REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF NHTSA CAN INVESTIGATE THIS CRITICAL SAFETY FURTHER.

IT STARTED WHEN I WAS PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT IN MY OFFICE BUILDING. WITH NO WARNING, THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE AT AROUND 7-8 RPM MAKING A ROARING NOISE HEARD BY MANY WITNESSES. THIS RESULTED IN LOSING CONTROL OF THE CAR WHICH THEN WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE LOT INTO A STEEP DECLINE WHERE I HIT A TREE. IF IT WASN'T FOR THAT TREE THERE WAS ANOTHER 60-70 FT DROP INTO A CANYON THAT I INEVITABLY WOULD HAVE FALLEN INTO. YOU MIGHT SAY, "OH I MIGHT'VE PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATION INSTEAD OF THE BRAKES", BUT THERE WERE SKID MARKS LEFT ON THE GROUND THAT WOULD INDICATE I WAS ALREADY PRESSING THE BRAKES TO COME TO A STOP, WHEN IT SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. IN ADDITION, I WOULDN'T HAVE PRESSED THE BRAKES THAT HARD, SO EVEN IF I DID ACCIDENTALLY PRESS THE ACCELERATION, THERE WOULD BE NO WAY THE CAR WOULD HIT 7-8 RPM WITHOUT VIRTUALLY FLOORING IT. THESE ARE HYPOTHETICAL SITUATIONS THAT I AM POSING TO SHOW THAT IT WAS NOT ACCIDENTAL ON MY PART, BUT A DEFECT WITHIN THE CAR. THIS CAR POSED A LIFE THREATENING INJURY THAT I WOULD LIKE FOR FUTURE CAR OWNERS TO KNOW AND TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT. I WAS IN A PARKING LOT. I BACKED OUT WHEN I STARTED TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE THE CAR ACCELERATED AND STARTED TO SPIN IN CIRCLES. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I WAS NOT IN CONTROL OF THE CAR AND NOTHING WOULD WORKED IN THE CAR. I COULDN'T SHIFT GEARS SO I SHOVED IT INTO PARK. THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED BUT NOT BEFORE IT HIT AN ISLAND CAUSING $7822 IN DAMAGES TO THE REAR OF THE CAR. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I WAS QUITE SHAKEN UP BUT HAD NO SERIOUS INJURY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT THE LOCAL AND REGIONAL LEVELS. THEY HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT THE VEHICLE BUT AFTER 7 WEEKS THEY STILL HAVE NOT CONTACTED ME WITH THEIR FINDINGS. I AM NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPAIRED. I FEAR THAT IF I HAVE IT REPAIRED AND I SELL THE VEHICLE, IT IS AN UNSAFE CAR AND SOMEONE ELSE WILL GET HURT. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL REPORTS OF SIMILAR OCCURRENCES ON THE INTERNET.

THEY DIDN'T ADDRESS THE ISSUE AND IT CONTINUED TO HAPPEN WITH EVERYONE SEATING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT INCLUDING AN ADULT MALE OF 6'2 AND OVER 200 LBS. I TOOK IT BACK TO INFINITI OF TAMPA AND THEY DIDN'T ADDRESS THE ISSUE. FOR THE THIRD TIME I TAKE VEHICLE TO INFINITI AND NOW THEY STATE THEIR AIRBAGS HAVE A SENSOR THAT MEASURES BODY MASS OF A PERSON TO ACTIVATE AND THAT'S THE REASON I AM GETTING THIS ISSUES WITH AIR BAGS AND THEY SUGGESTED THAT I SHOULD SEAT MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT RIDE IN THE FRONT TO GO TO THE BACK SEAT FOR SAFETY. INFINITI THEN TOOK A LOOK AT MY VEHICLE AND GAVE ME A SAME MODEL LOANER FOR THE DAY WHICH THE SAME THING HAPPEN IN THAT CAR.
