Leaking fuel tank like what is shown in recall but I am not part of the recall. I definitely have the issue. 21V635000
I OWN A 2013 LAND ROVER LR 4. SINCE OWNING MY VEHICLE ON AT LEAST SEVEN OCCASIONS MY LR 4 HAS SUDDENLY UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR. ON TWO OCCASIONS THE SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION RESULTED IN MY TWO ACCIDENTS. IN JANUARY 19, 2017 MY LR 4 UNINTENTIONALLY SUDDENLY ACCELERATED, AFTER A COMPLETE STOP, MY CAR LUNGED FORWARD WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE, AND I HIT ANOTHER CAR. IN DECEMBER 2017, I HAD A FRIGHTENING INCIDENT AT MY SON'S SCHOOL WHERE THE CAR ACCELERATED WHILE I WAS IN THE CAR POOL LINE AFTER I STOPPED TO ALLOW SOME KIDS TO PASS IN THE CROSS WALK. I HAD TO QUICKLY SLAM MY CAR IN PARK TO MISS HITTING A COUPLE OF MY SON'S CLASSMATES. IN JANUARY 2018, I DROPPED MY CAR OFF TO RESOLVE THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION ISSUE IN MY LR 4. AFTER THREE WEEKS, LAND ROVER SERVICE TEAM WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE AND THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN MY LR 4 WHEN A LR TECHNICIAN DROVE MY VEHICLE AND MY LR 4 SUDDENLY ACCELERATED UNINTENTIONALLY WHILE HE WAS DRIVING ON THE BAY BRIDGE ON RAMP. AFTER THIS INCIDENT THE LR TECHNICIAN HAD MY CAR TOWED BACK TO LAND ROVER AND THEY REPLACED A FUEL INJECTOR. THE LR TECHNICIAN MENTIONED THAT HE BELIEVED THE CLOGGED FUEL INJECTOR WAS THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM FOR THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN MY LR 4. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I KILL MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE. I BELIEVE AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN LAND ROVERS IS NEEDED, ALONG WITH A RECALL ON THE FUEL INJECTORS ON THE LR 4. I DO NOT PLAN TO RESUME DRIVING MY LR 4 AGAIN AS IT IS DANGEROUS, DEFECTIVE, UNSAFE, AND I'VE LOSS COMPLETE CONFIDENCE IN MY LR 4. I WILL NOT TAKE ANOTHER CHANCE ON MY LIFE BY CONTINUING TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE OR RISK THE LIVES OF OTHERS. LAND ROVER HAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM OR OFFER ANY REMEDY. I MY CASE TO THE MEDIA AND ASK FOR A CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION INTO LAND ROVERS.
WHILE TRAVELING ON I-49 NORTH AT 50 MPH IN KANSAS CITY MISSOURI, OUR LAND ROVER LOST ELECTRICAL CONTROL OF CAR. THE CAR SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE, POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES LEAVING THE CAR DRIFTING WITHOUT POWER AT 50 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO COAST THE CAR OFF OF THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT INJURY OR COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CAR HAD LIGHTS AND RADIO POWER BUT COULD NOT BE STARTED. ONCE STOPPED THE CAR'S EMERGENCY BRAKE COULD NOT BE ENGAGED, SO THE DRIVER HAD TO STAY WITH THE CAR TO KEEP IT FROM ROLLING. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AFTER THE EVENT. FIVE SECONDS PRIOR TO THE POWER SHUTDOWN, AN INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON THAT SAID RESTRICTED PERFORMANCE. OTHER INFORMATION IS: 'EARLIER THAT DAY THE CAR HAD BEEN REFUELED WITH PREMIUM GASOLINE 'THE CAR HAS A ONE YEAR OLD BATTERY 'THE CAR HAS HAD PROBLEMS SINCE PURCHASE WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY. SOME OF THE KEY I HAVE WILL ROLL DOWN THE WINDOWS INSTEAD OF LOCK THE CAR DOORS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LAND ROVER LR4. THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH THE REAR DOORS, BRAKES, AND AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE ISSUES WERE NOT RESOLVED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I PARKED MY LR4 IN MY DRIVEWAY, WHICH IS ON AN INCLINE. I SHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION TO WHAT I BELIEVED WAS PARK, BUT APPARENTLY THE SHIFTER DID NOT END UP ALL THE WAY IN THE PARK POSITION. I SHUT OFF THE ENGINE USING THE PUSH-BUTTON SWITCH, OPENED THE DOOR AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR. THE CAR IMMEDIATELY BEGAN ROLLING TOWARD ME. THE DOOR HIT ME ON THE WAY DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, AND I WAS FORTUNATELY ABLE TO JUMP CLEAR OF THE OPEN DOOR INTO THE STAIRWAY. THE CAR CONTINUED ROLLING DOWN HILL, AND THE DOOR, STILL OPEN, HIT THE RETAINING WALL, FOLDING IT BACK OVER ITS HINGES. THE CAR CONTINUED ROLLING DOWN MY DRIVEWAY, INTO BUSY TRAFFIC?A CAR NEARLY HIT IT?AND ACROSS THE STREET, WHERE IT T-BONED A HONDA PARALLEL PARKED ACROSS THE STREET. I BELIEVE THAT THE CAR AND/OR ITS BTSI SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE BECAUSE IT ALLOWS YOU TO SHUT OFF THE CAR WHEN IT IS NOT IN PARK WITHOUT PROVIDING AN ADEQUATE WARNING OR AN INTERLOCK. I BELIEVE THAT IT POSES A DANGER IN THIS CONDITION. I HAVE REPEATEDLY TRIED TO CONTACT LAND ROVER BY PHONE AND EMAIL FOR TWO WEEKS NOW, WITHOUT SUCCESS. *TR
