STICKY AND CRACKED DASHBOARD
NOTCHY STEERING FEEL AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THE STEERING EXHIBIT AN INTERMITTENT NON-BINDING, NOTCHY STEERING FEELING AND/OR STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT SELF-CENTER CONDITION WHEN DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. LIFE THREATENING. VEERS TO LEFT OR RIGHT AND NEEDS QUICK CORRECTION.
FUEL ECONOMY BECAME VERY POOR. FOLLOWING DAY HAD A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR CAR RUNNING LEAN. WENT TO FILL UP CAR AT GAS STATION, AND AFTER IT WAS FILLED IT WOULD NOT START AND JUST CRANK. AFTER 5 ATTEMPTS AND THROTTLING THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND FINALLY STARTED. CAR WAS THEN PARKED AFTER MOVING TO A SAFE LOCATION.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS GET STUCK IN THE UP POSITION AND DO NOT WORK. MALFUNCTIONING WIPERS, NO ERROR CODE WITH NO FIX. VERY DANGEROUS UNDER EXTREME WEATHER CONDTIONS WHERE WIPERS ARE NEEDED. NOT WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM A TOYOTA PRODUCT. I DEMAND THIS BE FIXED AS I'VE HAD MUCH OLDER CARS WITH NO ISSUES OF WIPERS MALFUNCTION. I COULD CRASH, DIE OR INJURY SOMEONE BECAUSE OF THIS FAILURE. THE CAR HAS ONLY 41,900 MILES ON IT AND THE WIPERS ARE BARELY USED. THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING! IT IS NOT BECAUSE I DID SOMETHING TO THE WIPERS EITHER. I HAVE NEVER GONE THROUGH AN AUTOMATIC CAR WASH AND EVEN IF I DID THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO SUSTAIN THAT. THIS IS A LEXUS, WHERE IS THE PERFECTION?
THE STRUTS ARE FAILING (LEAKING) AND THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM ACROSS THE INTERNET. ALSO, THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS STOP WORKING PERIODICALLY. AND FINALLY, THE REAR DEFROSTER STOPED WORKING. I'VE OWNED MUCH CHEAPER CARS WITH WELL OVER 100,000 MILES AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THESE PROBLEMS. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 82,000 AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF AS I HAVE ANOTHER CAR THAT I LEASE AND THE LEXUS IS USUALLY IN THE GARAGE.

AS I WAS DRIVING IN THE EARLY MORNING, I OPENED THE MOONROOF. 5 MINUTES LATER I DECIDED TO CLOSE IT BECAUSE IT GOT COLD FAST IN THE CAR. UPON CLOSING, THE MOONROOF GLASS SELF EXPLODED AS I WAS DRIVING 40-45MPH. THE GLASS WAS EVERYWHERE. I HAD TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER AND ASSES WHY AND WHAT HAD HAPPENED. NOTHING HIT IT, NOTHING FELL ON IT, ALL I DID WAS OPEN AND CLOSE IT AND IT EXPLODED. AFTER FURTHER RESEARCH ONLINE, I REALIZED I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO. I DECIDED TO SUBMIT MY COMPLAINT AS THIS IS A VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS ISSUE.
MY AC COMPRESSOR HAS GONE OUT IN THIS CAR, IT IS ON BACKORDER THEY SAY BUT ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS IN ADDITION I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL LEXUS DEALERSHIPS INCLUDING THE MAIN LEXUS COMPANY AND THEY DONT HAVE ANY IN STOCK AND OVER 20+ ON BACK ORDER WHICH CLEARLY INDICATES THERE IS A FAULT IN THEM. I HAVE GONE 2 WEEKS WITH NO AC AND IM IN OKLAHOMA WHERE ITS 90+ DEGREE WEATHER
MY SUNROOF EXPLODED WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET. I WAS DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 30MPH. I WAS THE ONLY CAR ON THE STREET WHEN I HEARD A LOUD POP; IT SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN. AFTERWARDS, I HEARD A CACKLING SOUND COMING FROM THE TOP OF MY CAR. AS A MADE A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT, I MOVED MY VISOR TO MY SUNROOF BACK AND ALL I SAW WAS SHATTERED GLASS. I IMMEDIATELY CLOSED THE VISOR TO MY SUNROOF. IT WAS THE MOST FRIGHTENING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. MY SUNROOF EXPLODED AND NOW IT'S SHATTERED TO PIECES. I MADE IT HOME, BUT I CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR.
TODAY WHILE DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT 30MPH, MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. UPON STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT, I OPENED MY SUNROOF VISOR A LITTLE, AND I OBSERVED MY SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. IT WAS A LOUD POP, IN COMPARISON TO THE SOUND OF A SHOTGUN.
INFOTAINMENT NOTIFICATIONS ENTIRELY OBSCURE REAR CAMERA VIEW OF CARS. THIS IS TRUE OF ALL TOYOTA A D LEXUS MODELS USING THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM.

AS THE CAR WAS PULLING OUT OF THE DRIVING SPOT AND MAKING ITS WAY, SEVERE BLACK ICE WAS PREVENTING CONTROL. THE CAR SEEMED TO HAVE ACTIVATED SOME ANTI-SKIDDING MECHANISM. THE CAR WAS STOPPED THEN. FROM A RESTING, ZERO SPEED POSITION, THE CAR SLID ON BLACK ICE ABOUT A FOOT OR LESS AND WAS STOPPED BY A SIDE IMPACT BETWEEN THE RIGHT WHEEL AND THE CURB. THE CAR WAS THEN DRIVEN BACK A FEW FEET TO ITS PARKING SPOT AND PARKED BECAUSE OF WEATHER CONDITIONS. UPON CLEARING AND DRIVING AGAIN, SOMETHING WRONG SEEMED TO HAVE HAPPENED TO THE STEERING. THE CAR WAS DRIVEN SLOWLY AND CAREFULLY TO THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE TIE RODS (BENDING) AND THE STEERING COLUMN, DAMAGE IN EXCESS OF $5,200. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNJUSTIFIED BY THE EVENT AND POINTS TO A DANGEROUS FLAW IN THE CAR - EITHER DESIGN OR MATERIAL. AN INSPECTOR PULLED THE CRASH DATA FROM THE CAR BUT LEXUS IS NOT AVAILABLE TO EXPLAIN IT TO US, INDICATING IT MAY TAKE 30 DAYS FOR THEIR ANALYSIS. IN THE MEANTIME, THE LEXUS DEALER NEEDS HIS LOANER CAR BACK. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THIS CAR ENDANGERS LIVES AND THE MODEL SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OUT OF CIRCULATION. LEXUS IS NOT BEING APPROPRIATELY RESPONSIVE. *TR

CONTINUED PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES LOUD GROWLING NOISE WHEN LIGHT FOOT PRESSURE IS APPLIED OR LET UP AND THE CAR IS STOPPED. WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT IS NORMAL FOR ALL NEW LEXUS MODELS. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THE DEALER DOES NOT WANT TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. *TR

ON JULY 14, 2014, I WAS DRIVING AT 70 MILES PER HOUR IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A BUSY INTERSTATE WHEN THE ENGINE OF OUR LEXUS GS 350 UNEXPECTEDLY SHUT DOWN. DESPITE HEAVY TRAFFIC, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER, WITHOUT INCIDENT, INTO THE MEDIAN EMERGENCY LANE WHERE THE CAR CAME TO A HALT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED BY THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT IT WOULD HAVE IT TOWED TO THEM. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT NO LOANER VEHICLE WAS AVAILABLE. BECAUSE I WAS EN ROUTE TO PICK UP FAMILY ARRIVING SOON AT THE AIRPORT, I RESTARTED THE CAR AND WAITED SEVERAL MINUTES TO ENSURE THE ENGINE KEPT RUNNING. I WAS ABLE TO PROCEED, PICK UP FAMILY, AND RETURN. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE DEALERSHIP PICKED UP THE CAR FOR EVALUATION. THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED AT THIS TIME. *TR

I PURCHASED A NEW LEXUS GS 350 2013 AND IT JUST MADE IT OVER 10K MILES AND I HAVE ALREADY BEEN STRANDED IN MY HOUSE WITH NO CAR 2XS. THE BATTERY HAS DIED AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. NO LIGHTS WERE LEFT ON AND ON BOTH OCCASIONS LEXUS SAID THE SAME. HERE I STAND INSIDE MY HOUSE WITH NO VEHICLE. FROM ONE DAY TO ANOTHER - I HAD NO CAR. ITS NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT I PAY A "GENEROUS" AMOUNT OF $$$$$ A MONTH; THEREFORE, I WOULD HAVE NOT EXPECT THIS FROM LEXUS. MAYBE KIA. WHO KNOWS ANYMORE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON US 93S ON GOLDEN VALLEY, ARIZONA IN MY LEXUS 350 WHEN I NOTICED THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. SOON AFTER THE VEHICLE STARTED GETTING WOBBLY SO I SLOWED DOWN AND PUT MY BLINKING LIGHT. A MINUTE LATER, THE CAR SHOOK AS IF WE WERE RIDING A RECTANGULAR TIRE AND HEARD A LOUD BANG WHEN THE LEFT DRIVER SIDE REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. WE WERE AT A HIGH SPEED WITH CARS AND TRUCKS WHEEZING BY AT 75-80 MPH, NO APPRECIABLE SHOULDER, SO I DROVE THE CAR ABOUT HALF A MILE TO A ROADSIDE DELI. THE TIRE WAS A DUNLOP SP SPORT 5000, RUN FLAT, WITH 16,9000 MILES ON IT. ORIGINAL TIRE BY LEXUS. CALLED THE DUNLOP, GOODYEAR TIRE COMPANY AND REPORTED THE BLOW OUT INCIDENT BUT THEY REFUSE TO HONOR THE GUARANTEE BLAMING ME FOR THE BLOW OUT. THE BLOW OUT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE CAR TOO PUTTING A HOLE THROUGH THE WHEEL WELL.
I PURCHASED MY BRAND NEW LEXUS ES 350 LESS THAN THREE WEEKS AGO. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 500 MILES. THE CAR WAS SITTING IN MY GARAGE FOR THREE DAYS AND NOW IS COMPLETELY DEAD. HAD TO CALL ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE. THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD AND THE CAR COULD NOT START. THE ISSUE WITH THE BATTERY IS NOT DUE TO ANY LIGHTS BEING ON. THE CAR LIGHTS WERE COMPLETELY OFF BUT BATTERY DRAINED ANYWAY. I JUST FOUND OUT FROM OTHER LEXUS OWNERS THAT THIS IS A FLAW WITH LEXUS CARS. THE BATTERY RUNS OUT DUE TO SOME MALFUNCTION. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 LEXUS GS350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VOICE COMMAND FEATURE DID NOT OPERATE PROPERLY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT HAD TO ENTER THREE HAND COMMANDS INSTEAD OF BEING ABLE TO USE HER VOICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SYSTEM OPERATED THE WAY IT WAS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO REFERRED TO THE MANUFACTURER, WHO DID A SIMULATION AND AGREED THAT CERTAIN HAND COMMANDS WERE NECESSARY. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO STATED THAT THE FEATURE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT FELT THAT SHE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO USE HAND COMMANDS AND FELT UNSAFE WHEN DOING SO. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 1,100.
