Summary

the undercarriage of my car seems to be falling into pieces. the car has only 57,000 miles on it. it has sat in my driveway for 7 years because i had another nissan, my sentra, which i had for l5 years and it never had undercarriage issues. and i never had all these issues with my sentra that i am having with this versa now that i am free to drive it since i got rid of my sentra after l5 years. the dealer says power control arms pressure forceing grees to be released. and heat shield, repair heat shield ripped off bolts and causing rattling under vehicle. i just paid a $600 bill to that same dealer for that same areas of work not that long ago. why is my nissan falling apart. i had a sentra i had for l5 years and never had trouble with the undercarriage like this. i cant afford these big repair bills. the milage is very low for all these things to go wrong when i never had them go wrong on the sentra for l5 years. did ghosn steal money from versa?

Car won’t accelerate past 25mph and is very loud. I took it to a Nissian dealer service center and they told me that they can’t get the code to come up for a transmission but they think that’s the problem. However, the Nissans that came out in 2013 with my make and model had bad transmissions and Nissan won’t help or cover the transmission expenses that existed at the time of manufacturing.

my air conditioning is not working. i believe wires in my care are covered with soy which is an attractant to mice and rats and causes them to climb into my car and eat the wires, causing the car to malfunction. we need to outlaw and ban the use of soy feedstuffs on car wires, this is just ridiculous for allowing this to happen, to make cars a magnet for mice and rats.

THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE JERKS AT TIMES MAKING THE VEHICLE LUNGE FORWARD. IT ALSO DOES NOT ENGAGE FROM A STOP OR SLOW SPEED PLACING ME IN DANGER OF BEING HIT BY THE VEHICLES HESITATION. WHEN GOING UP A HILL THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE OR SLIPS PRIOR TO ENGAGING SO I HAVE NO POWER TO GO UP THE HILL. THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS AT A STOP SIGN SO WHEN I PULL OUT I NEVER KNOW IF I WILL BE STUCK IN THE WAY OF TRAFFIC. THIS TRANSMISSION IS DANGEROUS. WHEN TURNING THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT ENGAGE FOR A SHORT TIME JERKING THE VEHICLE.

RECENTLY THE CAR WAS CHECKED AGAIN BY MY MECHANIC AND IT WAS FOUND IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION THAT WAS AT FAULT. A FEW TIMES WITH THE CAR IN PARK HAD SEVERE TREMORS TOO. NOW WITH 75,000 MILES THE CAR IS HAVING STRONG JERKS WHEN BEING PUT I TO REVERSE. ALSO, WHEN ACCELERATING I NEED TO LET OFF THE GAS AND ALLOW THE TRANSMISSION TIME TO CHANGE GEAR.

Summary

I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2015, THE CAR ALREADY HAD CVT ISSUES. IT USED TO JERK AND SOMETIMES I HAD TO TURN IT ON AGAIN BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I WAS NOT AWARE IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THE RPM STARTED TO GO UP AND DOWN, IN THE HILLS THE CAR WOULD NOT GET SPEED. IN 2017, THE CAR WAS STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD TO THE POINT THAT I COULD NOT DRIVE ANYMORE, PUTTING MY LIFE IN DANGEROUS. I WENT TO NISSAN AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, IN JULY 2018 THE RPM STARTED TO GO UP AND DOWN AGAIN. ON DECEMBER 31ST I WENT TO NISSAN AND I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE A TRANSMISSION PART, I REPLACED IT. HOWEVER, AS SOON AS I LEFT NISSAN I REALIZED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE. I WENT BACK TO NISSAN THEY TOLD ME THAT WATER WAS GOING INSIDE A HOLE IN MY TRUNK AND GOING TO THE LIGHTS AND IT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I WENT TO A TRUSTED BODY SHOP AND A MECHANIC TO GET A SECOND OPINION, BOTH TOLD ME THAT THE LIGHTS DID NOT HAVE TO DO WITH THE MALFUNCTION OF THE CAR., BESIDES THERE WASN'T ANY WATER MARKS INSIDE MY TRUCK. I WENT BACK TO NISSAN AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE LIGHT CONNECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THAT WAS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I WENT TO MY MECHANIC AGAIN AND ANOTHER REPAIR PLACE, BOTH AFFIRMED THAT LIGHTS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH TRANSMISSION, ISSUES RELATED WITH RPM OR THE CAR STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THERE IS A ENGINE CODE ON WHICH SHOWS THE PART THAT I JUST CHANGED AT NISSAN. NOW I AM CONCERNED WITH MY SAFETY BECAUSE IF I STOP AT AN INTERSECTION THE CAR SOMETIMES WON'T MOVE, PEOPLE START TO HONK AT ME. IN ADDITION IT CAN BE DANGEROUS BECAUSE IN AN INTERSECTION YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO MOVE YOUR CAR QUICKLY.

WE OWN A 2013 NISSAN VERSA, WITH 52,310 MILES. WE KEEP GREAT CARE OF THE CAR, WITH ROUTINE MAINTANCE CHECKS, OIL CHANGES, TIRE ROTATIONS, ETC. THE CAR IS HOUSED IN THE MIDWEST, THUS DRIVING ON A FAIRLY FLAT SURFACE IT'S WHOLE EXISTENCE. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. WE FOUND OUT WE HAVE TO GET A WHOLE NEW TRANSMISSION PUT IN OUR VEHICLE COSTING $4,050. THIS SEEMS OUTRAGEOUS AS OUR VEHICLE HAS LESS MILES THAN THE AVERAGE VEHICLE PUTS ON EACH YEAR. WE ALSO HAVE TO GET NEW FRONT BRUSHING COSTING $387.53. THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A CAR WITH THAT LITTLE OF MILEAGE ON IT. IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT OF ANY KIND. OUTRAGEOUS!. THE VEHICLE CLOCKS WHEN BRAKING, GOING OVER THE SMALLEST BUMPS, AND TURNING. THE VAHIE STRUGGLES TO GET UP TO 40 MPH AND HAS A NOTICEABLE KICK TO IT. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AS SOON AS WE NOTICED A PROBLEM.

Summary

WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED MY VEHICLE (NEW) IN 2012 FOR THE 2013 NISSAN VERSA, I NOTICED THAT WHEN TAKING OFF AT A RED LIGHT, THE ENGINE/TRANS SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS A HESITATING TO GO. I MENTIONED THIS TO THE SERVICE GUY WHEN I WENT IN FOR MY FIRST OIL CHANGE, HE SAID THAT IT'S BECAUSE IT A CVT TRANSMISSION. ABOUT 1 YEAR AGO OR SO, THE CAR WOULD JERK WHEN TAKING OFF AT 20MPH AND THE RPM NEEDLE WOULD GO UP AND DOWN AS I ACCELERATE TO GO FASTER, I'VE TAKEN THIS CAR FOR OIL CHANGES AND KEPT UP WITH THE RECOMMENDED SERVICES. I'VE HAD THE TRANS OIL CHANGED AND IT STILL DOES THIS ESPECIALLY GOING ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THE CAR HESITATES TO GO, AND NOW I READ THAT THERE ARE MULTIPLE PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES JUST LIKE I DO. THIS MORNING WHEN GETTING ON THE EXPRESSWAY TO GO TO WORK, I WAS ACCELERATING AND IT HESITATED (LIKE ALWAYS), THEN AS I GAVE IT GAS, IT JERKED (RMP NEEDLE JUMPED TO 4 THEN BACK DOWN TO 2) AND SPED UP AND I ALMOST HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. I'M SO NERVOUS RIGHT NOW. PLEASE HELP. THIS IS DANGEROUS! I'M A SINGLE MOM OF 3 AND VERY PRECIOUS CARGO WITH ME. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS REALLY BAD SYSTEM, AND THEN SOMETHING TO BE DONE ABOUT IT. THERE HAS TO BE SOME KIND OF RECALL ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.

YESTERDAY I HAD DROPPED OFF MY CAR AT UNIVERSAL CITY NISSAN FOR THE CVT RECALL REPAIR. WHEN I LEFT AND PROCEEDED TO GET ON THE 101 FREEWAY MY CAR LOST POWER AND WENT FROM 60 MPH TO ABOUT 10 MPH IN FRONT OF A BIG RIG ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET OFF OF THE FREEWAY AT 5MPH AND WENT BACK TO THE DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. THEY PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY 4000.00 DOLLARS AS THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AS THEY SAID I COULD DRIVE ANOTHER 50 MILES. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY AND WANTED TO DOUBLE CHECK WITH MY MECHANIC. I LEFT AND THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED ON A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION ON THE CORNER OF LA BREA AND FOUNTAIN BLVD. I HAD TO KEEP TURNING IT OFF AND RESTARTING IT TO GET IT INTO THE PARKING LOT OF AN URGENT CARE UNTIL I CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO. THE DEALERSHIP IN NO WAY WANTED TO HELP AND SAID MY WARRANTY WAS UP IN FEBRUARY EVEN THOUGH IT ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT.

A CENTER CONSOLE MOULDING TRIM AND A CVT SOFTWARE UPGRADE. I EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CHECK IT OUT. I WAS TOLD BY THE 1ST DEALERSHIP THAT THERE WERE NO APPARENT PROBLEMS WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE IMMEDIATELY. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BACK AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR WAS NOT INSPECTED AND THAT THERE WOULD BE A $200 INSPECTION FEE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THE CAR IS ONLY 5 YEARS OLD AND OF COURSE THE WARRANTY JUST ENDED IN FEBRUARY 2018. I TOOK THE CAR TO A 2ND DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION WAS FAILING AND GIVEN AN ESTIMATED PRICE OF A REBUILD AND A NEW TRANSMISSION. CONSUMER AFFAIRS TOLD ME THAT THE CAR NEEDS FURTHER INSPECTION TO DETERMINE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY WILL NOT TELL ME IF THEY PLAN ON COVERING THE COST OF THIS INSPECTION. I THOUGH THE CAR WAS ALREADY INSPECTED A COUPLE OF TIMES. I'M GETTING INCONSISTENT CONFLICTING INFORMATION ABOUT WHAT I'M TOLD WAS DONE TO THE CAR AND WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. MEANWHILE THE CAR IS GETTING WORSE AND I STILL HAVE 3 YEARS LEFT ON THE AUTO LOAN. I'VE READ ON SEVERAL WEBSITES THAT OTHER NISSAN VERSA OWNERS ARE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS. I WAS TOLD BY MY CAR FRIEND THAT THEY ARE NOTORIOUS FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AT AN EARLY AGE AND BY THE 2ND NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE OUT SO SOON.TO SAY I'M BEYOND FRUSTRATED IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT.

TAKATA RECALL. I BELIEVE MY CAR IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IT IS A NISSAN VERSA 2013. THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAD RECENTLY STARTED FLASHING WITHOUT ANYTHING MAJOR HAPPENING TO THE CAR. I WAS IN FULL STOPPED MOTION AT A TURNING RED LIGHT AND AN UNKNOWN PERSON HAD REAR ENDED MY CAR, SHORTLY AFTER I HAD NOTICED THE PASSENGER SEATBELT LIGHT HAD STARTED FLASHING. I AM IN FEAR THAT THE AIRBAG LIGHT MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT HAVE TO DO WITH THE HIT AND RUN, BUT IT JUST STARTED A FEW WEEKS AGO WHILE THE ACCIDENT WAS OVER 2 YEARS AGO. PLEASE REVIEW AS THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO ME AND I FEAR THAT I MIGHT GET INJURED IF THE AIRBAGS ARE RECALLED AND I GET INTO ANOTHER ACCIDENT. THANK YOU.

I HAVE AN ISSUE WITH MY HEAT SHIELD SCREWS COMING UNDONE ABOUT EVERY 6 MONTHS. I UNDERSTAND THIS IS COMMON ON A NISSAN VERSA. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM WITH A SUITABLE REMEDY, SO THE SCREWS OR CLAMPS ON THE HEAT SHIELD DOESN'T CONTINUE TO LOOSEN UP. THE RATTLING NOISE IS VERY ANNOYING AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE DISTRACTION IT CAUSES. THE ONLY WAY TO CURRENTLY TIGHTENING THE SCREWS OR REPLACE THEM IS TO BRING IT TO A GARAGE AND HAVE THE VEHICLE PUT ON A LIFT, WHICH IS AN EXPENSE, SINCE THIS PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE WELL AFTER THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. THE DEALERSHIP SO CALLED FIXED MY LOOSENED OR REPLACED MY LOST CLAMPS SEVERAL TIMES AND I AM STILL EITHER TIGHTENING THE CLAMPS OR REPLACING THEM TWO YEARS AFTER MY WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. I DON'T SEE THIS PROBLEM STOPPING. I BOUGHT TWO VERSAS ON THE SAME DAY, SO I NOW HAVE DOUBLE TROUBLE AND DOUBLE THE BILLS TO CONTINUALLY FIX THIS PROBLEM, WHICH IS ONLY A TEMPORARY FIX AT BEST. IT'S BASICALLY A CHEAP THIN FOIL THAT IS THE HEAT SHIELD, WITH THE HOLE FOR THE CLAMPS WIDENING FROM THE VIBRATION OF THE VEHICLE, OR THE CLAMPS JUST LOOSEN FROM THE VIBRATION. THERE ARE SEVERAL CAUSES FOR THE HEAT SHIELD COMING UNDONE. I WOULD SAY INSTALLING A MORE RIGID MATERIAL FOR THE HEAT SHIELD AND BETTER QUALITY FASTENERS WITH LOCK WASHES WOULD CORRECT THIS PROBLEM.

TAMARA RECALL: I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT & A DEER RAN IN FRONT OF MY CAR & THE FRONT BUMPER & RT HEADLIGHT HAD TO BE REPLACED ON MY 2013 NISSAN, VERSA. MY INSURANCE PD IT. I AM NOT CERTAIN IF THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED BUT THEY DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN WITH MY PUTTING MY FOOT ON THE BRAKES HARD & STILL HITTING THE DEER, I THOUGHT IT STRANGE THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WITH THE SUDDEN BRAKES & HITTING THE SIDE OF THE DEER. WAS THE AIRBAGS SUPPOSED TO DEPLOY IN THAT SITUATION? I DON'T KNOW. IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAGS? UNKNOWN NOT DEPLOY. IS THIS NORMAL? I DON'T KNOW?

Summary

IT WAS A RAINY DAY OUTSIDE. THE FRONT AND BACK BRAKE PADS/SHOES WERE REPLACED 10,000 MILES PREVIOUSLY AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN DOVER, OH. I WAS DRIVING ON NORMAL PAVEMENT. I DROVE ON A HIGHWAY AT SPEED LIMIT OF 70 MPH. I DROVE ON A VILLAGE MAIN ST AT A SPEED LIMIT OF 25 MPH. IT DID NOT MATTER WHAT SPEED OR WHETHER THE VEHICLE WAS STRAIGHT OR TURNING: WHENEVER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED THERE WAS A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE. AFTER THAT, WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED THERE WAS ANOTHER CLUNKING NOISE. THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE BRAKES. I ASKED A PASSENGER TO JOIN ME TO TEST THE NOISE AND EVEN LET THEM DRIVE. THEY CONFIRMED. THE NOISE SUDDENLY STOPPED AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING. ONCE IT STOPPED WE PULLED OVER AND POPPED THE HOOD AND SMELLED WHAT SEEMED TO BE BRAKE FLUID. CHECKED ALL THE FLUIDS IN THE CAR AND THEY WERE FINE.

Summary

NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCING ISSUES, BEING VERY UNSAFE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD NORMALLY, THE CAR STARTED REVVING VERY HIGH. AFTER PULLING OVER AND TURNING THE CAR OFF, THEN TURNING IT BACK ON, IT CONTINUED TO REV OVER 3,000 RPM AT ABOUT 10-15 MPH AND NEVER "SHIFT" INTO HIGHER GEAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE BEFORE, AND TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON SOLVED THE ISSUE. IT WAS SERVICED BY THE DEALERSHIP WITH NEW CVT FLUID, BUT NOW THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED AND HAS NOT GONE AWAY WITH SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON. IT MOST RECENTLY HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING, LUCKILY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS NEARBY, AND I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED.

I PURCHASED A USED CAR FROM MR. BILL MOTOR CO IN ARLINGTON, TX ON PIONEER PARKWAY. THE VEHICLE STARTED TO OVERHEAT. I CALLED TO INFORM MR. BILL MOTORS AND I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD SEND IT OUT TO BE LOOKED AT AND LET ME KNOW WHEN IT WAS READY FOR PICK UP. IT WAS TAKEN TO DG'S PERFORMANCE ON PIONEER PARKWAY FOR REPAIRS. ABOUT A WEEK LATER THE CAR RESUMED OVERHEATING, I CONTACTED MR. BILL MOTORS AGAIN AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND THE VEHICLE OUT FOR REPAIR. THEY SENT IT TO LONGHORN TRANSMISSIONS. AS MY DAUGHTER WAS HEADED TO SCHOOL AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED ON I-20 IN ARLINGTON, TX THE CAR STARTS TO OVERHEAT AND STOPS ON HER, SHE COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR. SHE CALLS LONGHORN AND THEY SEND A TOW TO GET HER. SHE WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT PLACE THE CAP ON THE TRANSMISSION WHEN THEY ADDED FLUID TO IT SO THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR IS HEATING AGAIN. I CONTACT MR. BILL MOTORS AGAIN IN PERSON SO THEY COULD SEE AND WITH A VIDEO OF WHAT THE CAR HAD BEEN DOING, THEY TELL ME THEY WILL WORK ON IT THE NEXT DAY. I COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR FROM THE LOT, THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND I ROLLED INTO THE STREET. TWO SALES MEN HAD TO PUSH THE CAR UNTO THE PROPERTY FROM THE STREET. TWO DAYS GO BY AND I AM TOLD THAT IT IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT WILL COST ME $1500 AND TAKE A WEEK TO REPAIR FROM SCOTT AND HE STATES THAT MATT ANOTHER MANAGER IS PRESENT WITH HIM. I CALLED TO DISCUSS STATUS UPDATE, MISSING ITEMS FROM THE CAR TO FIND OUT THEY WERE CHARGING ME $235 FOR THE TOW THAT LONGHORN TRANSMISSION BILLED THEM. I EXPLAINED THAT I HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS CHARGE, NOR DO I FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARGE. THEY DID NOT PUT THE CAP ON THEY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CHARGE AND THAT YOU DO NOT CHARGE ANYONE WITHOUT DISCUSSING THE AMOUNT WITH THE PERSON. I ASKED FOR THE TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR AND I STATED I WANTED TO SPEAK TO THE REPAIR PLACE. I WAS GIVEN A NUMBER FOR JEFF.

I EXPERIENCED MY CAR SHAKING, REVVING UP AND THEN STALLING AT A PARKING LOT. UPON TRYING TO GET ON THE FREEWAY THE CAR STALLED ON THE FREEWAY ON RAMP. ONCE STARTING THE CAR, I HAD TO DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR ALL THE WAY DOWN FOR THE CAR TO GET UP TO 20 MI/HR. THE CAR MAINTAINED THIS SPEED FOR 4-5 MI, SUDDENLY THE CAR WOULD ACCELERATE TO 60MI/HR AT WHICH POINT I NEARLY COLLIDED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THEN THE CAR PROCEEDED TO SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. I ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THERE'S A POSSIBLE ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW IN 2013, HAVE HAD ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, USED TOP TIER FUEL, AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY MAJOR ACCIDENTS, THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 30K MI. *TR

THIS IS AN EVENT SIMILAR TO ODI RESUME (PE 14-018) OPENED ON 06/24/2014 BY THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION. SIMILAR TO COMPLAINANT, VOQ 10597004, MY FOOT WAS TRAPPED BY THE TRIM PANEL. PANEL IS LOCATED NEXT TO THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE LOWER CORNER IS POSITIONED SUCH THAT IT IS NEAR THE RIGHT OUTER EDGE OF THE DRIVER'S SHOE. ALSO SIMILAR TO COMPLAINANT 10573057, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO APPLY THE BRAKE, MY SHOE WAS CAUGHT BY THE TRIM PANEL WHICH DELAYED BRAKING ABILITY SEVERAL TIMES. IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM A RENTAL FACILITY, ENTERPRISE CAR SALES IN ELMWOOD PARK, NJ. Summary

LAST NIGHT SUDDENLY ON THE HIGHWAY I-95 IT LOST A POWER. TO BE MORE EXACT, IT SEEMED LIKE TRANSMISSION STUCK ON THE HIGH (4TH) GEAR. ON PARKING OR NEUTRAL GEAR POSITIONS WHEN I PRESS GAS PEDAL, ENGINE REACTS AND INCREASES RPMS, MAKES NOISE, ETC BUT WHEN ON THE DRIVE POSITION, IT BARELY MOVES, LIKE IF YOU TRY TO START FROM 4TH OR 5TH GEAR. THIS MORNING I BROUGHT IT TO THE AUTONATION PEMBROKE PINES NISSAN DEALERSHIP (PEMBROKE PINES, FL). AFTER INSPECTION THEY GAVE ME THE SUCH A SURPRISING CONCLUSION: PROBLEM WITH TAIL LIGHT CAUSED MIS-FUNCTIONING OF TRANSMISSION. AND THE TAILLIGHT WAS FUNCTIONING WELL, NOT DAMAGED. BUT THEY TOLD, HIS ELECTRIC RESISTANCE WAS WRONG. AFTER REPLACING THE TAIL LIGHT TRANSMISSION STARTED WORKING. IT'S REALLY VERY HARD TO BELIEVE, THAT MISFUNCTIONING (WRONG ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE) OF THE TAIL LIGHT CAN AFFECT THE PRIMARY FUNCTIONALITY OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH COULD REALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND INJURIES OR EVEN LOOS OF LIFE. IT WAS VERY FORTUNE FOR ME THAT I DISCOVERED THIS ISSUE WHEN I WAS TAKING AN EXIT RAMP I FOUND SIMILAR HISTORIES DESCRIBED HERE HTTP://FORUMS.NICOCLUB.COM/2013-NISSAN-SENTRA-TRANSMISSION-ISSUES-POWER-LOSS-T584502.HTML AND HERE HTTPS://ANSWERS.YAHOO.COM/QUESTION/INDEX?QID=20131125173224AAB6P8P. *TR

Summary

I AM WRITING TO SHARE WITH YOU A SAFETY CONCERN I HAVE WITH MY 2013 NISSAN VERSA. I AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY VEHICLE EXCEPT FOR ONE THING. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAVE ONE POINT OF ENTRY, THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE MODEL THAT I HAVE IS THE BASIC MODEL WHERE KEYLESS ENTRY WAS NOT INCLUDE, WHICH IS FINE WITH ME. BUT WHEN I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE, I WENT TO LET MY WIFE IN AND FOUND THAT THERE WASN'T A KEY HOLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE ONLY WAY TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE WAS THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE WITH A KEY. I WAS CONTENT WITH THAT, SEEING THAT I DID PURCHASE THE BASIC MODEL BUT THEN IT OCCURRED TO ME ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT TO FIND A PARKING SPACE. WHAT IF ANOTHER CAR PARKED VERY CLOSE TO ME ON THE DRIVER SIDE, SO CLOSE WHERE I CAN'T EVEN OPEN THE DOOR. HOW WILL I BE ABLE TO GET IN? I CAN'T GET IN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE BECAUSE THERE ISN'T A KEY ENTRY. I DON'T HAVE KEYLESS ENTRY TO UNLOCK THE DOORS. I CAN'T GO THRU THE TRUNK BECAUSE THE SEATS DO NOT FOLD DOWN. SO OTHER THAN GOING THROUGH THE ESTABLISHMENT TO TRY TO FIND THE OWNER OR HAVING THE POLICE COME WITH A SOLUTION OF A TOW TRUCK OR SOMETHING, THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY WAY. OR EVEN WORSE... THERE WOULDN'T BE A WAY TO LET MY KIDS INTO THE VEHICLE QUICKLY IF THERE SHOULD BE ANY DANGER COMING OUR WAY. OR GET SOMEONE HURT OR UNCONSCIOUS OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THAT SEEMS TO ME TO BE A BIG SAFETY CONCERN. I BELIEVE THAT THIS CONCERN SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR FUTURE MODELS AS SAFETY IS SOMETHING THAT MANY PEOPLE TAKE IN CONSIDERATION WHEN PURCHASING A VEHICLE. *TR

I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT IN THE LEFT TURN LANE AND WAS CHANGING RADIO STATIONS. I LOOKED UP AND NOTICED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WAS ALREADY GOING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION, SO I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL AND ACCELERATED QUICKLY. AS I APPROACHED THE INTERSECTION (STOP LINE) I ATTEMPTED TO REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL, BUT COULD NOT, BECAUSE MY FOOT WAS STUCK. I USED MY RIGHT HAND TO GRAB MY LEG, AND PULLED HARDER, IMMEDIATELY BRAKING HARD, THEN BACKING MY FOOT OF THE BRAKE AS I SQUEALED AND SKIDDED AROUND THE CORNER, ALMOST GOING OVER THE CURB AND CRASHING. AFTER PARKING THE CAR IN A SAFE SPOT, I INSPECTED THE GAS PEDAL AREA TO DETERMINE WHAT HAPPENED. THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT COVERS THE CENTER CONSOLE EXTENDS AROUND TO JUST NEXT TO THE GAS PEDAL. IT ATTACHED WITH A PLASTIC PRESS FIT LOCK SEVERAL INCHES FROM THE EDGE, LEAVING THE EDGE UNSECURED. THE CORNER OF THAT PLASTIC PANEL WEDGED BETWEEN THE SOLE AND LEATHER UPPER OF MY WORK BOOTS, PREVENTING ME FROM TAKING MY FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. *TR ... UPDATED 03/19/15*BF UPDATED 6/18/2015 *JS

I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW NISSAN VERSA SV ON MAY 11, 2013. ON DECEMBER 1, 2013 I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I COULD FEEL MY STEERING WHEEL PULL TO THE LEFT. THEN THE ENTIRE CAR STARTED SHAKING VIGOROUSLY. MY BACK LEFT TIRE HAD BLOWN OUT. MY CAR ONLY HAD 6,200 MILES ON IT, MY TIRES ARE SUPPOSE TO BE GOOD FOR 60,000 MILES. I TOOK THE NEAREST EXIT AND PARKED IN AN APARTMENT COMPLEX. THANKFULLY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE CAME VERY QUICKLY. THE PERSON WHO ASSISTED ME WAS SHOCKED THAT I WASN'T IN AN ACCIDENT AND NO DAMAGE OCCURRED. WHEN HE TOOK THE TIRE OFF, WE LOOKED FOR DAMAGE TO THE TREAD, A NAIL OR SOMETHING THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE BLOWOUT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE TREAD. THE TIRE LITERALLY CAME APART FROM THE SIDE (THE PART OF THE TIRE YOU SEE WHEN LOOKING AT THE CAR FROM THE SIDE). I BELIEVE I HAVE A DEFECTIVE TIRE(S) AND I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING WITH THESE TIRES. BECAUSE OF THIS, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT ALL SEASON TIRES. *TR

MY 2013 NISSAN VERSA HAD NO BRAKES AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT THIS MORNING. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT WAS THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. LUCKILY I WAS GOING SLOWLY AS I JUST PICKED UP A FRIEND FROM HAVING SURGERY AND WAS BACKING. A BRIGHT RED BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURNED IT OFF. I RESTARTED IT AND STILL HAD NO BRAKES BUT THE BRIGHT RED LIGHT WAS GLOWING. I TRIED PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL WITHOUT ANY CHANGE. SO I TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN AND THE THIRD TIME THE RED LIGHT WENT OFF AS I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND I SEEMED TO HAVE PEDAL AGAIN. SO I CALLED & LEFT 2 MESSAGES WITH THE SERVICE DEPT OF MY DEALER WHICH WERE NOT ANSWERED. I DROVE HOME VERY CAREFULLY(APPROX. 20 MI.) WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM SINCE I STILL HAD THE PATIENT WITH ME I PICKED UP FROM THE HOSPITAL. I CALLED THE DEALER A THIRD TIME & WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE DEPT. THAT IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE & THEY WOULD TOW IT. THIRTY MINUTES LATER THEY TOLD ME IF THEY COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM THE TOWING BILL WOULD BE MINE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I HAVE TO MAKE SURE MY FOOT IS HEAVILY ON THE BRAKE, SO THAT IT WILL NOT FEEL LIKE IT WILL MOVE FORWARD. A COUPLE OF TIMES, I HAVE THOUGHT THE CAR IN BACK OF ME HAD BUMPED ME. ALSO, THE BRAKE PEDAL FEELS A LITTLE LOOSE. ALSO, WHEN THERE IS DEW PRESENT ON THE WINDOW IN THE MORNING IF I HAVE PARKED OUTSIDE AT NIGHT, THE BUILT-IN WINDOW BRUSHES/EDGERS WILL NOT CLEAR THE WINDOWS. THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE YOU WERE DRIVING AND THE WINDOWS BECAME FOGGY ON THE OUTSIDE.
