THE DRIVER DOOR WINDOW / LOCK CONTROL MODULE WILL NOT LEARN OR RETAIN THE CONNECTIONS TO THE OTHER DOORS. WHILE THE CAR IS SHUT DOWN THE CONTROL MODULE WORKS AS IF IT IS IN NORMAL MODE AND CAN CONTROL ALL THE WINDOWS. THE 4 DOOR LOCKING DOES NOT WORK WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING BUT WORKS WHILE IT IS SHUT DOWN. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND EVEN WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE DOOR MODULE DOESN'T WORK. THIS ISSUE STARTED WITH A GROUND IN THE PASSENGER SEAT HEATER SYSTEM WHICH DREW DOWN THE BATTERY SIGNIFICANTLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHUTTER AND STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE INTO A PARKING LOT AS AN UNKNOWN LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO HALEY AUTOMALL (1906 S MAIN ST, FARMVILLE, VA 23901) WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. THE CONTACT THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE WAS TAKEN APART. IT WAS THEN DISCOVERED THAT THE FAILURE WAS LINKED TO A DEFECTIVE ENGINE VALVE SPRING. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED HER $2,500 TOWARDS THE REPAIR OF THE ENGINE IF THE REPAIR WAS PERFORMED BY AN AUTHORIZED TOYOTA DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
NO INCIDENT INVOLVED. JUST WAS NOTIFIED BY THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP THERE IS A PASSENGER CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM FAULT THAT HAS GENERATED A SAFETY RECALL. THAT WAS DEC 2018 AND THE REMEDY IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE. IT IS NHTSA RECALL #: 18V887 ISSUED IN DEC 2018.
GAS BOILS AND VEHICLE LEAKS GAS DURING 4 WHEELING IN MOAB, UT. NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND CODE RELATES TO ISSUES WITH EVAPORATOR CANISTER. THIS TYPE OF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DISABLES TO SAFETY FEATURES 1)TRAC OFF AND 2) 4 LOW OPTION.
VEHICLE MAY CREEP WHILE BRAKES ARE APPLIED WHEN STOPPED. NORMAL BRAKING PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO STOP VEHICLE. VEHICLE STOPS OK. AFTER A FEW SECOND, THE VEHICLE MAY BEGIN TO CREEP FORWARD AS IF THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER IS NO LONGER APPLYING THE CORRECT PRESSURE TO HOLD THE VEHICLE, REQUIRING ADDITIONAL LIGHT PRESSURE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. PROBLEM IS MORE NOTICEABLE IF AN ACCESSORY SUCH AS THE A/C COMPRESSOR TURNS ON AND CAUSES THE ENGINE IDLE SPEED TO INCREASE VERY SLIGHTLY. UNTIL YESTERDAY MY BIGGEST CONCERN WAS BUMPING A VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AT A STOPLIGHT. ON 7/1 WHILE SITTING IN THE PICK UP LINE AT CAMP, THE CREEPING CAUSED ME TO NEARLY BUMP A CHILD WHO WAS STANDING NEXT TO THE VEHICLE. 2013 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE ACCELERATION PROBLEMS. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED SINCE THE PURCHASE DATE, HE ENCOUNTERED A SIGNIFICANT AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM WITH REGARD TO THE ACCELERATOR/THROTTLE MECHANISM. ON A SPORADIC BASIS, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A LOW SPEED TO HIGH SPEED, SUCH AS, MERGING INTO A TRAFFIC LANE, THERE WAS A LACK OF RESPONSE (SIMILAR TO A STALLING SENSATION). ON TWO OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM.
