TL* THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND OWNS A 2014 AUDI A7. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, SHE SMELLED A GAS ODOR COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT THEN STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AS SHE NOTICED THAT THERE WAS NO GASOLINE IN THE VEHICLE, DESPITE HAVING A FULL TANK OF GAS PRIOR TO THE STALL. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THERE WERE ANY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HER THAT THE GAS LINE FRACTURED AND SPRAYED FUEL ONTO THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V781000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, AUDI MUSKEGON (1860 E STERNBERG RD #7, MUSKEGON, MI 49444) AND AUDI PENSACOLA (6303 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505) CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE VEHICLE COLLAPSED WHILE USING THE VEHICLE JACK TO RAISE THE CAR TO REMOVE THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE WHEEL. THE JACK WAS INSERTED INTO THE PLASTIC JACK SADDLE LOCATED IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE ROCKER PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS RAISED APPROXIMATELY 4 INCHES, THE WHEEL WAS REMOVED, AND THE JACK SADDLE BROKE AND DISLODGED FROM THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY AND ABRUPTLY FALL TO THE GROUND. THE DRIVER'S SIDE ROCKER PANEL, FRONT FENDER, DOOR, AND FRONT STABILIZERS WERE DAMAGED. ADDITIONALLY, I COULD HAVE BEEN CRUSHED HAD I BEEN UNDER THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT INSIDE A FINISHED RESIDENTIAL GARAGE WITH A FLAT CONCRETE FLOOR. THE INCIDENT WAS REPORTED TO AUDI OF PENSACOLA AND AUDI OF AMERICA FOR REVIEW. NEITHER ACCEPTED ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE MALFUNCTION OR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT AND ADVISED ME TO SIMPLY REPORT IT TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY FOR REPAIR REIMBURSEMENT.
BOTH EXHAUST PIPES PROTRUDES OUT AND VERY HOT AFTER PARKED/ENGINE OFF. IF PERSON LEANS SLIGHTLY IN TO UNLOAD ARTICLES FROM TRUNK, PASSENGERS NEEDS TO BE AWARE PIPES STICKS OUT AND CAN CAUSE SKIN BURNS TO LOWER EXTREMITY.
WHEN I DRIVE, THE CAR'S GPS ALWAYS SAY "WRONG DIRECTION". ACTUALLY IT IS NOT WRONG DIRECTION! IT IS VERY UNSAFE!
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN MY CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STALL IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION. IT WAS AS IF IT ABRUPTLY RAN OUT OF GAS. THE DIAGNOSIS IS THAT THERE WAS METAL IN THE FUEL SYSTEM, WHICH HAS TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE SAME PROBLEM, WHICH HAS OCCURRED WITH THE TDI ENGINE IN THE VOLKSWAGEN JETTA, PASSAT AND AUDI 3. *TR
