Loud engine rattling noise on startup of 3.6L v6 then check engine light came on. Carl Black GM Buick dealer replaced valve actuator solenoid, but engine still making the rattling noise on startup. Danger of timing chain and valve phasers not synchronizing causing valve interference with pistons and engine damage and failure in high speed traffic on Atlanta GA freeways and 2 lane side roads.

The Buick did a hard turn to the left, without any action of the driver, and went into an uncontrollable counterclockwise spin and hit the concrete divider. Prior to the accident the Buick was traveling in the right south bound lane of US 75 with the traffic flow. There was a light rain and no one was changing lanes or speeding. No other vehicle skidded or went out of control. The cause of the accident was not the weather or driver error. Possible causes for the accident are: faulty steering system, faulty antiskid system, or a computer glitch. The dealer would not talk to us. The Buick has not been inspected. No one will inspect it.

Within 90 days of purchasing my used 2014 Buick Enclave the alert came on telling me to have the air bag serviced. It was within the 90 warranty from the used dealership so at no cost they took it in and then let me know it was a recall issue the dealership had to address. After almost a week I got my vehicle back and “all was corrected” for a month or so. Then one day it just came back on again. It decides when it will alert me at random. But I do not see it listed as a recall because it was “repaired”. Twice now when I have been on a long road trip and have been driving for more than 5 hours my sensor for my tires will start alerting me to have my tire sensors serviced. Once the vehicle has been restarted it seems to reset itself.

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ON A BUSY CITY STREET, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT. IT SCARED ME TO DEATH. I QUICKLY SWITCHED THE LIGHTS FROM AUTO TO MANUAL AND THEY CAME BACK ON. WITHIN SECONDS, HOWEVER, THEY WENT OFF, AGAIN AND DID NOT COME BACK ON. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT, BUT VERY FRIGHTENED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. WHEN THEY REMOVED THE BULB AND BALLAST, THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT APPARATUS HAD WARPED BY OVERHEATING. THIS WAS THE SAME ON BOTH HEADLIGHTS. I WAS TOLD THE COST TO REPAIR WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $2,800 FOR PARTS, PLUS LABOR. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE VEHICLE WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE PROBLEM. IT IS CLEAR THE PROBLEM IS A DEFECT, RATHER THAN A MATTER OF REASONABLE WEAR AND USE. I HAVE SEEN THAT OTHER IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN LODGED WITH THE NHTSA. ADDITIONALLY, THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON-LINE OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS. FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL WHO MAY BE DRIVING THIS MAKE AND MODEL, I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THAT A RECALL ORDER BE ISSUED.

THE VEHICLE ONLY THEN DROVE AT SLOW SPEEDS, SPUTTERED AND JERKED, AND FELT LIKE IT MIGHT STALL. WHEN ABLE TO PULL OVER, AT TIMES TURNING OFF THE CAR REVERSED THE PROBLEM. SOMETIMES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON, SOMETIMES IT WASN'T. SOMETIMES IT WOULD DRIVE FINE AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE, IT WOULD HAPPEN AGAIN. IN 2016, THE DEALERSHIP HAD A DIFFICULT TIME FINDING THE ISSUE. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS OF DRIVING IT, THEY IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS A FUSE BOX ISSUE AND REPLACED THE FUSE BOX. THIS SEEMED TO FIX THE ISSUE UNTIL IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN 2020 WHILE DRIVING. ON A ROAD TRIP, IT HAPPENED WHILE ON A HIGHWAY, AGAIN AT A RED LIGHT, AND WHILE ON A HIGHWAY AGAIN. EACH TIME, WE PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A WHILE. ONE TIME IN PARTICULAR, THE ISSUE DIDN'T GO AWAY AFTER TURNING THE CAR BACK ON.

MY BOYFRIEND'S V8 SILVERADO ALSO GETS ABOUT 50% BETTER GAS MILAGE. IVE BROUGHT IT IN MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY KEEP SAYING THEY CAN'T FIND AN ISSUE BC THE COMPUTER ISN'T FLAGGING ANY ISSUES. THE DRIVER SIDE SHOCK THAT WAD REPLACED HAS ALSO ALREADY WENT BAD WITH NO REASON AND THE PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WOBBLES WHEN REVERSING OUT IF A PARKING SPACE. THIS AGAIN WAS CHECKED AND THEY DENIED FINDING ANY ISSUES. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE AND THE RIDICULOUSLY PRICED AND WORTHLESS ADDITIONAL WARRANTY IN DECEMBER OF 2017.

THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND FLASHES FOR ROUGHLY 30 SECONDS. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS IN THE CITY, ABOUT 35MPH AND THE SECOND WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WITH A SPEED OF 60MPH. BOTH TIMES I'VE PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND THE LIGHT DISAPPEARS. WHEN I TAKE IT IN, THE CODES ARE PULLED AND CLEARED. THE MECHANIC CAN NOT GET THE CODE TO REAPPEAR. MY BUICK HAS NEVER SHIFTED RIGHT, NOTICING PADDING AND JERKING BEFORE AND AFTER SWITCHING GEARS. THE MECHANIC SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND THE REPAIR BILL WILL BE AROUND $3,500.00 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. A 5 YEAR OLD VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE ISSUES!! I LOOK BACK AND SHE HAS SWEAT DRIPPING DOWN HER FACE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY FOR ANYONE THAT HAS INFANTS. IF I HAD AN INFANT THAT COULDN'T SPEAK, THEY COULD DIE FROM HEAT EXHAUSTION. THIS IS SIMILAR TO LEAVING YOUR CHILD IN THE CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES ON A HOT DAY. SOMEONE COULD DIE. I HAVE ALSO READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE DO NOT LET A DEATH HAPPEN BEFORE RECALLING THIS ISSUE. THERE IS A HISSING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT ALMOST EVERYDAY. WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR! I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURN THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AGAIN. THIS SEEMED TO REBOOT THE COMPUTER, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON FOR SEVERAL DAYS. 4 MONTHS LATER, THIS HAS NOW HAPPENED ABOUT 16 ADDITIONAL TIMES, 3 WHILE ON THE FREEWAY! WE'VE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, THROTTLE BODY GASKET, MASS AIR FULL SENSOR, PVC VALVE AND THE POWER TRAIN MODULE RELAY. WE ARE CONTINUING TO HAVE PROBLEMS!! THE MOST RECENT, THIS MORNING WHILE TAKING MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL. THIS ON TOP OF HAVING TO HAVE THE A/C EVAPORATOR REPLACED AT LEAST ONCE/ YEAR SINCE WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW OFF THE LOT! WE RECENTLY DROPPED OFF WITH THE DEALER WHERE THEY APPLIED A SOFTWARE PATCH WHICH HAS SLIGHTLY REDUCED THE ISSUE, BUT HAS NOT RESOLVED. I BOUGHT MY 2014 BUICK ENCLAVE AT THE END OF MAY AND HAD IT IN THE SHOP AT THE BEGINNING OF DECEMBER, AFTER PUTTING 3000 MILES ON IT, FOR POWER STEERING ISSUES, (NOISE AND VIBRATION) AND IT TURNS OUT THE NEEDED TO REPLACE THE PUMP BUT WERE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE DESIGN, WHILE THEY WERE LOOKING AT IT THEY SAID THEY NEEDED TO ALSO REPLACE A BALL JOINT. THEN IN MID JAN. THE NOISE STARTED AGAIN, I HAD IT CHECKED AND THEY SAID IT WAS FROM THE COLD, WELL THAT BECAME UNTRUE AS IT BECAME WORSE IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS (NOISE AND VIBRATION AS I WAS TURNING) AND I BROUGHT IT IN AGAIN 3-7-2018 AND SURE ENOUGH THE SAME PROBLEM IS THERE!! SO THE MECHANIC HAS TO FIGURE OUT A DIFFERENT SOLUTION BY CALLING THE BUICK DEALER. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS AS THIS IS MY FIRST "NEW" VEHICLE I BOUGHT, VERY UNHAPPY!! If a vehicle's shift cable disengages from the transmission shift lever, a driver may be unable to shift gear positions and the indicated shift position may not represent the gear position the vehicle is in. Should a disengagement occur while the vehicle is being driven, when the driver goes to stop and park the vehicle, the driver may be able to shift the lever to the "PARK" position, but the vehicle transmission may not be in the "PARK" gear position. If the vehicle is not in the "PARK" position there is a risk the vehicle will roll away as the driver and other occupants exit the vehicle or anytime thereafter. A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.

As such, these vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect." They also fail to conform to FMVSS number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
