The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Escalade. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would drive rough. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with needing the struts and shocks replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and told the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall regarding the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 41,000.
On Saturday June 26, 2021 I open the driver door to the vehicle and the passenger seat caught. on fire and burned a hole in the side of the seat .
RADIATOR LEAK DISCOVERED. PROBLEM WITH CYCLING OF THE THERMOSTAT THAT CAUSES STRESS FRACTURES ON THE RADIATOR LEADING TO COOLANT LEAKS. GM BULLETINS ON THE 2014 AND 2015 MODELS. P11513A AND P11513F. THIS WAS LEAKING FOR A WHILE AND WAS NOT NOTICED UNTIL MULTI POINT INSPECTION I REQUESTED BY THE SERVICE CENTER I USE FOR SERVICE. (B&B SERVICE CENTER, FARMINGTON NH. THIS WAS A KNOW ISSUE ON THIS MODEL VEHICLE.

THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE, ENGINE REDUCED POWER, STABILITY CONTROL OFF, TRACTION CONTROL OFF. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. CAR WILL NOT DRIVE OVER 20MPH HAPPENS WHEN I HIT BUMPS OR POTHOLES IN THE ROAD. CHECK ENGINE CODE P2137 I'VE REPLACED THE MAF SENSOR, THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (GAS PEDAL) AND THE WHOLE THROTTLE BODY. STILL NOT FIXED. I'VE DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ONLINE AND IN FORUMS. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO. MY CAR IS AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CRESTMONT CADILLAC (26000 CHAGRIN BLVD, BEACHWOOD, OH 44122, (216) 831-5300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR COMPRESSOR HAD A HOLE IN THE TUBE, WHICH CAUSED A FREON LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED BECAUSE GM WAS ON STRIKE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 72,133.
JUST PURCHASED THIS 2014 VEHICLE FOR $32900 WITH 73345MILES AND ON THE WAY HOME NOTICED THAT THE RIDE WAS HORRIBLE. UPON CHECKING WITH MY MECHANIC THE RIDE SUSPENSION WAS AT FAULT. I AM HAVING IT REPAIRED AND WILL SEEK REIMBURSEMENT FROM THE DEALER. THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD IT FOR OVER 4 MONTHS ON THEIR LOT
I PURCHASED A NEW 2014 CADILLAC ESCALADE IN 2014. I HAVE 61,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE CAR IN YESTERDAY FOR A TIRE REPAIR AT WHICH TIME THE TECHNICIANS INFORMED ME THE TIRES WERE CRACKING AND THEY COULD COME APART. THE NEW VEHICLE CAME EQUIPPED WITH BRIDGESTONE 285/45 R 22 TIRES. I REPLACED THE TIRES TODAY WITH A DIFFERENT BRAND OF TIRES. WHEN I WAS AT THE TIRE SHOP TODAY, THERE WAS ANOTHER PERSON WITH A CADILLAC ESCALADE, SAME TIRES AS MINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I'M WONDERING IF THIS IS A MANUFACTURER ISSUE THAT MIGHT AFFECT OTHER PEOPLE. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE TIRES THAT I WILL TRY AND ATTACH.

THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CONCLUDED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,281.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT SUSTAINED NECK, SHOULDER, LEFT KNEE, RIGHT SIDE, AND RIGHT HIP INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE THERE WAS A LOUD SERIES OF POPPING SOUNDS FOLLOWED BY SOME SMOKE WHICH CAME FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE ENGINE WAS QUICKLY TURNED OFF AND THE SMOKE CLEARED. THE HOOD INSULATION SHOWS A SLIGHTLY DAMAGED/STAINED/HEAT EFFECTED AREA ABOVE THE ALTERNATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY RESTARTED SEVERAL TIMES AND HAS BEEN CHECKED BY THE DEALER AND NO PROBLEMS COULD BE FOUND OR DUPLICATED. *TR

PURCHASED BRAND NEW 2014 CADILLAC ESCALADE FROM PENSKE IN TORRANCE CA , BEGINNING OF SEPT. 2014. VEHICLE REFUSED TO START ON AT LEAST FOUR OCCASIONS. These vehicles are equipped with non-desiccated passenger frontal inflators containing phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate (PSAN) propellant. These inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, high temperatures, and high temperature cycling.
