2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO FAULLTY VALVE SPRING WHICH RESULTED IN AN EXPLOSION. THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ENGINE FAILURE PRIOR TO THE EXPLOSION. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE.
In November 2021, upon smelling gasoline in my garage I discovered fuel leaking from the left rear side of the vehicle. I brought the car to the Van Chevrolet dealer in Scottsdale, AZ who claimed that no recall or extended warranty was available for the vehicle. In October 2016, I received a notice from Chevrolet that my car could develop cracks in the fuel tank and to NOT take it to a dealer until the crack manifested itself. The notice Enclosure 16009 is already posted on NHTSA: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2016/MC-10130604-9999.pdf The dealer advised that the notice had expired and I need to cover the repair out of pocket. This is a blatant safety issue with leaking fuel and the car is undrivable and is a danger to me and others. No warning lamps or messages appeared prior to the failure.
THE ELECTRIC POWER-STEERING ASSIST IS FAILING WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. I LOSE POWER STEERING AND HAVE TO USE MORE EFFORT TO MAINTAIN THE STEERING DIRECTION. THIS HAPPENS UNEXPECTEDLY, AND MAY LEAD TO A CRASH, AT ANY SPEEDS. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I SEE A WARNING MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD STATING THE POWER-STEERING ASSIST FAILED, DRIVE WITH CAUTION AND THE STEERING IS ALL 'NON-POWER STEERING'. WHEN I STOP THE CAR, AND TURN THE POWER OFF, AND RE-START THE CAR, THE POWER STEERING WORKS AGAIN FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, AND THEN FAILS AGAIN. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I CANNOT FIND ANY RECALLS ON MY CAR VIN # FOR THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER, I DO SEE A NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V086. GM'S OWN NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS N182182760 ON OTHER GM VEHICLES WITH THIS SAME DANGEROUS ISSUE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GPS AND BACK UP CAMERA WERE ALSO INOPERABLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. HERB JONES CHEVROLET (1601 N. DIXIE HWY, ELIZABETHTOWN, KY, 42701, (270) 505-4777) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
THE LCD THAT SHOWS THE REAR VIEW CAMERA STARTED FLICKERING AND NOW IS COMPLETELY BLACK. AFTER RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, I CONCLUDE THAT IT IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR OF CORVETTE.
THE LCD WHICH SHOWS THE REAR VIEW CAMERA STARTED FLICKERING AND NOW IS COMPLETELY BLACK. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE IN DEC. OF 2013 AND ONLY HAVE LESS THAN 5000 MILES ON IT. A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET HAS SHOWN ME THAT IT IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR OF CORVETTE.
THE STITCHING ON THE DASH AND THE LEATHER AROUND THE AIRBAG IS COMING APART
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AND MAKING A TURN, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO FISHTAIL. THE CONTACT RELEASED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO STABILIZE THE VEHICLE AS VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND REMAINED PARKED FOR ONE WEEK. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED AGAIN, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO KUNI CHEVROLET CADILLAC (916-538-721, LOCATED AT 7 2449 FULTON AVE, SACRAMENTO, CA 95825) WHERE THE COMPUTER SYSTEM WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WOULD BE INVESTIGATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER'S FOR SEVERAL WEEKS AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,091.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY PER GM'S SERVICE BULLETIN NO: 13384 "SUMMARY: THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY IN CERTAIN 2014 CHEVROLET CORVETTES WERE SHIPPED WITH IMPROPER FLUID LEVELS. OPERATING THE VEHICLE WITHOUT SUFFICIENT FLUID IN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLY COULD PRODUCE A LOUD WHINE AND/OR GEAR OR BEARING NOISE." THESE VEHICLES WERE THEN TOPPED OFF WITH FLUID AND SOME STILL HAD NOISES PRESENT REQUIRING DIFFERENTIAL ASSEMBLIES TO BE REPLACED HOWEVER THE ISSUE PERSISTS. DEALERS AND THE MANUFACTER WERE TELLING CUSTOMERS THE "WARBLE" SOUND THEY HEAR IS JUST DUE TO ENGINE NOISE/VIBRATION AND THE CYLINDER DEACTIVATION. NOW THAT VEHICLES ARE OUT OF WARRANTY THE ISSUE IS THAT DIFFERENTIALS INTERNALS ARE BEYOND REPAIR AND NEED REPLACING. GM HAS CHOOSEN NOT TO ISSUE A STANDARD RECALL, EVEN THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED 2014 MODELS WERE NOTIFIED, HANDLED AT DEALERS, AND PUT A STOP SALE ON VEHICLES FOR THE ISSUE BUT THEY ENDED THAT PROGRAM 11/30/2015. VEHICLES THAT EXPERIENCE THE ISSUE WILL COMMONLY HAVE A WARNING INDICATOR SAYING "SERVICE REAR AXLE" OR "REAR AXLE SYSTEM OFF" POP UP INDICATING WHERE THE ISSUE IS. COMMON CHECKS INCLUDE FLUID LEVEL, BATTERY CONNECTION, CONTROLLER/SENSOR PLUG CONNECTIONS AND MORE. VEHICLES THAT EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE CAN LOSE ABILITY TO CONTROL THEIR VEHICLE AT SPEED OR HAVE THEIR DRIVE AXLES LOCK UP WHILE MOVING CAUSING INJURIES, FATALITIES, AND MORE AVOIDABLE DAMAGES
INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM AND RADIO DISPLAY HAS INTERMITTENT FLICKERING OR ROLLING SCREEN WHILE CAR IS MOVING OR STATIONARY. THIS FLICKERING IS A CONCERN BECAUSE THE SCREEN CAN BE SEEN OUT OF THE CORNER OF YOUR EYES CAUSING DANGEROUS DISTRACTED VISION WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, THE BACK UP CAMERA HAS FLICKERING THAT MAKES BACKING UP DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. THIS STARTED IN OCTOBER 2018 AND HASN'T DISAPPEARED. GM HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE PROBLEM SINCE NOV. 2013 (#PIC5934 AND P1-1318NHTSA#10056464). I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS ABOUT THE PROBLEM ONLY TO GET A RUN AROUND OF DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS AND DIFFERENT SERVICE REQUEST NUMBERS, BUT NO ACTION. THEY NEVER RETURN THEIR PHONE CALLS. THEY CLAIM THAT THEY GIVE COST ASSISTANCE, BUT ONLY AFTER I PAY A DEALERSHIP TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, WHICH I DID. TO REPLACE THE SYSTEM COSTS $1335. THEY BARELY OFFERED ANY COST ASSISTANCE EVEN THOUGH I OWN 2 GM VEHICLES, HAVE THEM SERVICED AT GM DEALERSHIPS, IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WHERE MOST PEOPLE DRIVE FOREIGN VEHICLES. THE FOREIGN CARS THAT I HAVE OWNED IN THE PAST STAND BY THEIR VEHICLES. I FEEL GM SHOULD DO THE SAME ESPECIALLY IF THEY WANT TO COMPETE IN THE CROWDED SO. CAL. MARKET. GM SEEMS TO BE ABANDONING THEIR DUTY OF NOT ISSUING A RECALL EVEN THOUGH THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM. THE DEALERSHIP THAT I TAKE MY VEHICLE TO IN THOUSAND OAKS, CA CLAIMS THAT THEY HAVE HAD 7 INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM COMPLAINTS (AND REPLACEMENTS) AND THAT'S JUST ONE DEALERSHIP OUT OF HUNDRED OF THOUSANDS OF DEALERSHIPS ACROSS THE US AND THEREFORE HUNDRED OF THOUSANDS COMPLAINTS. ON 12/07/2017 I PURCHASED A 2014 CHEV. CORVETTE C7 MODEL (WHITE) FROM JUD KUHN CHEVROLET 3740 HWY. 9 EAST, LITTLE RIVER SC. ON 01/02/2018 SAID CORVETTE WAS STATIONARY WHEN I NOTICED A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAKAGE UNDERNEATH THE DRIVER DOOR AND RIGHT REAR TIRE AREA. I TOOK A PHOTO DATED AND NOTIFIED DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AFTER SNOW STORM CLEARED.IN LUIE, MECHANICAL PRELIMINARY REVIEW SHOWN A DIFFERENTIAL OIL LEAKS ON RIGHT REAR AXEL SEAL AT THE REAR END AND GAS/FUEL RIGHT SIDE LEAKS AT TOP OF GAS TANK. DEALER TOLD ME DIFFERENTIAL WAS UNDER WARRANTY, HOWEVER TRYING TO GET ME TO COVER FUEL LEAK COST. UNDER A FEDERAL MANGOUS LAW, SUCH ISSUES ARE CONSIDER SAFETY MANUFACTURE DEFECTS IN HAVING REGARDS TO FUEL AND REAR END. I NOTICED YESTERDAY WHEN ENTERING MY POLE BARN, A STRONG FUEL ODOR..UPON EXTENSIVE SMELLING, I LOCATED A FUEL LEAK WHEN I HAD THE CAR ON MY LIFT, THE FUEL TANK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE HAS GASOLINE RUNNING DOWN THE PLASTIC TANK. I HAVE MODINE HEATERS IN THIS BLDG, SO I LOWERED THE CAR AND PUSHED IT OUTSIDE WITH HELP. I BOUGHT THE CAR PRE OWNED FROM BERSTROM CHEVY IN OSHKOSH, AND THEY NEVER GAVE ME SOME LETTER THAT I LEARNED WAS SENT TO ALL OWNERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, JUST SHORT OF A RECALL. THE TORQUE TUBE (DRIVE SHAFT) FAILED AT 14,423 MILES. FIXED BY AUTHORIZED DEALER. FAILED AGAIN 1500 MILES LATER. TOTAL TIME IN SHOP 38 DAYS. WE ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE IT COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL.

WHEN I TURN THE STERLING WHEEL AT TIMES THE CAR WILL COMPLETELY LOSE POWER AND THE WHEEL WILL LOCK UP. ALSO IF I TURN ON MY TURN SIGNAL NO MATTER OF THE SPEED I'M TRAVELING THE POWER WILL CUT OFF.
HAD C7 Z51 STICK 2014 AND HAD PROBLEM WITH TRACTION AND STABILITY CONTROL. AFTER PURCHASED THE CAR I RECOGNIZED THAT WHEN ACCELERATION BIT FASTER THERE WAS BACK AXLE, PARKING BRAKE AND SOME OTHER WARNINGS. IT HAPPENED ALWAYS WHEN ACCELERATED BIT FASTER. WINTER STAB WORKED OK. BUT NOW IN SUMMER I LOST CONTROL ON HIGHWAY DRIVING 50 MPH ACCELERATING ON WET ROAD AND LOST CONTROL AND HIT GUARD RAIL. THERE WAS NO STABILITY OR TRACTION CONTROL WHAT SO EVER. I WAS IN ECO MODE WHICH HAS NORMAL STAB/TRAC CONTROL. I BROUGHT TO DEALER WHEN WARNING LIGHTS COME UP, BUT DEALER SAID IT IS NORMAL NO WORRY EVERYTHING IS OK. BUT IT WAS NOT WORKING AT ALL!!
LOW SP CRSH CAR SHATTERED AND FELL APART AT ALL WELD POINTS IN THE FRAME. OCCUPANTS WORE SEAT BELTS. I WAS FOUND IN THE ROAD, MY PASSENGER DIED. THE FRONT OF CAR BROKE OFF AND BACK BROKE OFF ALL AT THE WELDED CONNECTIONS LEAVING THE OCCUPANTS EXPOSED. CAST ALUMINUM SECTIONS OF THE FRAME IS WHERE ALL THE WELDS FAILED. CAST ALUMINUM CANNOT BE WELDED, UNKNOWN WHEN I PURCHASED CAR. WAS NOT IN MANUAL OR SPECS, OR I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF TRASH. CRASH AT SPEED OF 40-50, COUNTRY ROAD ON SLIGHT CURVE. FRONT WHEEL ON RIGHT HIT A CULVERT PIPE.
EXTREMELY STRONG FUEL ODORS THAT FILL MY GARAGE AND SEEP INTO MY HOUSE. IM STANDING IN THE KITCHEN NOW NEXT TO THE GARAGE AND CAN BARELY FINISH TYPING THIS BEFORE HAVING TO MOVE TO THE LIVING ROOM I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICE TO THE CHEVY SERVICE DEPARTMENT NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T SMELL OR FIND ANYTHING, SO ITS OBVIOUS THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT.
THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED FROM DOING 25 MPH AT 1200 RPM, TO OVER 6500 RPM AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I DID NOT ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE ON MY OWN, AND PRESSING THE BRAKE DID NOTHING TO STOP THE VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF THIS, MY VEHICLE IS POSSIBLY TOTALLED AND LUCKILY MYSELF, OR NO ONE ELSE WAS SERIOUSLY HURT OR LOST OUR LIFE. I HAVE TRIES CONTACTING SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS TO SEE IF THERE IS A POSSIBLE RECALL ABOUT THIS ISSUE OR HAVE THEIR BEEN OTHER CASES OF THIS TO NO AVAIL. I DO ALSO PLAN ON CONTACTING CHEVROLET ABOUT THIS ISSUE ALSO.
THE VEHICLE DIC DISPLAY GOES BLANK PERIODICALLY. THE ANALOG GAUGES WORK AT ALL TIMES. WHEN THE DISPLAY IS BLANK, AND WHILE DRIVING, THE ANALOGS WILL GO FULL SCALE AND ALL WARNING LIGHTS WILL ILLUMINATE FOR A FEW SECONDS. THEN THE ANALOG GAUGES RETURN TO NORMAL OPERATION. WHILE DRIVING FOR A PERIOD OF ABOUT 30 MINUTES OR MORE, THE DISPLAY BECOMES OPERATIVE, AND ALL STEERING WHEEL COMMANDS FUNCTION. THE DISPLAY AND GAUGES OPERATE NORMALLY FOR DAYS. THEN AFTER SITTING IN THE GARAGE WHEN I OPEN THE LEFT DOOR, DAYS LATER, THE DISPLAY DOES NOT COME ON. AND REPEATS THE CYCLE. I HAVE INFORMED GM AND HAVE AN OPEN CASE. HOWEVER, THEY HAVE NO IMMEDIATE SOLUTION AND I WAS TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THERE ARE A NUMBER OF OWNERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY THAT ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THEIR DIC'S. A GM REP AT THE ACTION CENTER STATED THAT ALL OWNERS WITH THIS PROBLEM ARE WAITING FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS. THEY COULD GIVE NO EXPECTATION AS TO WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. GM KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2014 CORVETTE INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS.. I AM NOW ON A LIST OF OWNERS WAITING FOR THE WORD ON WHEN THE CLUSTERS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE. MY CAR IS NOT EVEN 3 YRS OLD AND GM DOESN'T HAVE THE PART TO FIX IT ANYWHERE IN THE GM SYSTEM? MILEAGE 813.0 I THOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. I BROUGHT IT TO THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY ATTEMPTED TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE 3 X AND EACH TIME IT FAILED. THEY STATED THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN THEY RETURNED MY CAR, ALL GAUGES AND DISPLAYS WERE INOPERATIVE, INCLUDING THE INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM. I HAD AN INDEPENDENT TECH REPROGRAM THE SYSTEM, AND ALL RETURNED TO NORMAL. HOWEVER, THE DIC DISPLAY IS STILL INTERMITTENT. MY CAR HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING IMPROPER (INTENSITY) AND SPEED CONTROL (ERRATIC CONTROL) BOTH OPERATED IMPROPERLY. I FINALLY FOUND A DEALER THAT AGREED THERE WAS A PROBLEM, THE PROBLEM WAS THE INTERFACE BETWEEN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND SEVERAL COMPUTERS IN THE CAR. IN AN ATTEMPT TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTERS IT WAS FOUND THE PANEL WAS SO DEFECTIVE THE COMPUTERS COULD NOT BE PROGRAMED. IT TURNS OUT THE PROBLEM IS SO PERVASIVE THAT THERE ARE NO REPAIR PARTS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE TO FIX MY CAR. IT WAS BEEN AWAITING A PART NOW FOR OVER 6 WEEKS WITH NO IDEA WHEN ONE WILL BE AVAILABLE. SO I AM WITHOUT THE CAR WHICH IS INOPERABLE UNTIL REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED. IT SEEMS THAT IF THIS PROBLEM SO LARGE THAT NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE NOR CAN IT BE DETERMINED WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE THERE MUST BE A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM YOU SHOULD BE AWARE OF. I HAVE TALKED TO CHEVROLET AS FAR UP THE LINE AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICE WITH NO ANSWER AVAILABLE. THIS TOOK 2 YEARS OF EFFORT TO GET CHEVROLET TO LOOK AT THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE MAINTENANCE ADVISORIES OUT ABOUT THE ISSUE.
HID LIGHTS HAVE GONE OUT COMPLETELY WITHOUT NOTICE OR WARNING. ONLY THE LOWER LIGHTS ARE OPERATIONAL. REGULAR LIGHTS ARE OUT AND HIGH BEAM LIGHTS ARE OUT. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND THE CAR MALFUNCTIONED WITHOUT WARNING. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE NEW MODEL. I HAVE A 2005 AND HAVE ONLY HAD TO REPLACE ONE LIGHT ONE TIME AND HAVE NEARLY 200K MILES. THE SERVICE CENTER STATED THEY'VE NEVER REPLACED THE HID LIGHTS ON A CORVETTE SINCE EMPLOYED WITH THE COMPANY AND THOUGHT SINCE BOTH WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME THERE MAY BE OTHER ISSUES. ONLINE RESEARCH DEMONSTRATES THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. THE CAR PROVIDED NO WARNINGS THAT THE LIGHTS WERE GOING TO GO OUT OR THAT THEY WERE OUT.

LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL WHILE TRAVELLING AT UNIFORM HIGHWAY SPEEDS (67 MPH) IN A SLIGHT TURN AND RAIN. AFTER CRASHING, FOUND RIGHT REAR TOE LINK BROKEN AWAY FROM KNUCKLE, ALLOWING THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL TO ARTICULATE AND TOE-IN/OUT EASILY.
THE CARS HUD IS NOT READABLE WHEN DRIVING INTO THE SUN.

I JUST PURCHASED THE AUTOMOBILE FROM A CHEVROLET DEALER WITH 17,200 MILES AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FILL THE TAKE UP WITH GAS. TWICE I HAVE TRIED TO FILL THE TANK, BUT THE GAS KEEPS TURNING OFF AT THE PUMP. WHEN I RETURN HOME AND PARK THE CAR IN THE GARAGE, YOU CAN SMELL GAS AFTER AWHILE AND IT LINKERS FOR A FEW DAYS. I WAS LOOKING FOR A RECALL NOTICE ON THIS ISSUE BECAUSE I READ IN OTHER PLACES ON THE INTERNET SIMILAR ISSUES. I SAVED FOR 3 YEARS TO PURCHASE A NEW 2014 CORVETTE. IT WAS BROKEN IN PROPERLY AND WAS WELL MAINTAINED. IT WAS 3 MONTHS OLD AND HAD 3,645 MILES WHEN ON THE WAY TO WORK IT THREW A ROD BEARING AND THE ENGINE DIED.THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO COAST MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BUT IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS DURING 7:30 AM RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC WITH NO POWER ON IN THE VEHICLE. IT HAS TAKEN GM OVER A MONTH TO FIX THE CAR, WHICH ENDED UP IN A FULL ENGINE REPLACEMENT. MY BRAND NEW TOP OF THE LINE CHEVY PRODUCT HAD THE WHOLE FRONT END DISASSEMBLE AT THE DEALER AND RE-INSTALLED. I TOLD GM I WAS NOT CONFIDENT ABOUT THIS WORK BUT THEY INSISTED EVERYTHING WOULD BE LIKE NEW. I HAD THE CAR FOR 3 DAYS WHEN SMOKE STARTED TO COME FROM UNDER THE HOOD. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE, A QUALITY ISSUE WITH PAINT, REAR TRUNK SEAL, AND TO CLEAN UP COSMETIC DAMAGE (REPLACING MORE PARTS) FROM THE INSTALLATION OF THE NEW ENGINE. I KNOW THIS IS NOT YOUR ORGANIZATION PURPOSE TO MONITOR QUALITY BUT ALL OF THIS LEAD TO THE FACT THAT GM HAS ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. I ASKED THE DEALER IF THE CAR WAS BEING ANALYZED BY TECHNICIANS AND THEY STATED THEY WOULD JUST GET THE PARTS BACK AND WORK THE PROBLEM. I DO KNOW THAT GM HAS 3 TSB RELATED TO ENGINE REPLACEMENTS OR WHAT TO DO AFTER AN ENGINE IS REPLACED ON A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. CAR AND DRIVER REPORTED ENGINE DAMAGE AND THERE ARE AT LEAST TWO OTHER MEMBERS OF THE CORVETTE FORUM THAT HAD SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE. THIS PROBLEM IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF I COULD NOT HAVE MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, I COULD HAVE BEEN HIT FROM THE REAR OR STRUCK BY TRAFFIC WALKING ACROSS MAJOR FREEWAY. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP NOW FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS OF MY 120 DAYS OF OWNERSHIP. IT IS BACK AGAIN FOR ANOTHER 7 TO 10 DAYS.
