LEAKING OIL FROM OIL ADAPTER HOUSING. HOMETOWN CHRYSLER TOLD ME THAT OVER 72,000 OF THESE HAVE BEEN REPLACED. I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR COULD CATCH ON FIRE, SO I LEFT IT A DEALER TO WAIT 2 WEEKS FOR THE PART. WHY HASN'T THIS BECOME A RECALL?

I RECEIVED RECALL ALERT FOR CODE V51 (RE-PROGRAM POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) OVER A YEAR AGO (DEC 2019) AND THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN GIVING THE RUN AROUND. I'VE CALLED NUMEROUS TIMES TO INQUIRE ABOUT GETTING IT FIXED AND EVERY TIME I'M TOLD THE MANAGER WILL START MAKING CALLS TO OWNERS FOR THE RECALL BUT NO SUCH THING HAS OCCURRED.
AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE BUSY HIGHWAY MY CAR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, CAR TURNED OFF AND BRAKES LOCKED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I COULD OF GOTTEN IN A HORRIBLE CAR ACCIDENT. WHEN MECHANIC CHECKED IT OUT HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN CHECK AND IT SAYS NO RECALLS.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE MAKING TURNS AND THAT THE HORN WOULD INADVERTENTLY BLOW WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DALLAS DODGE CHRYSLER JEEP RAM (11550 LYNDON B JOHNSON FWY, DALLAS, TX 75238) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC RETRIEVED DTC CODE: P0190 (POWER CONTROL MODULE) FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.

2014 CHRYSLER 200 126K MILES SEPT. 8, 2020 SLOWING DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT. APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. HEARD A LOUD NOISE LIKE A TIRE BLOWING OUT. YET DIDN'T FEEL ANYTHING. IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO INSPECT MY VEHICLE OUTSIDE AND FOUND NOTHING AMISS. ENTERED VEHICLE ON DRIVERS SIDE AND LOOKED OVER AND SAW PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST HAD DEPLOYED. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME. REWIND TO NOVEMBER 2019 SAME CAR AT 120K MILES. SITTING IN DRIVEWAY. VEHICLE PARKED AND ENGINE OFF. KEY NOT EVEN IN THE IGNITION. SITTING IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT. HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND MY HEAD WAS THROWN FORWARD IN A VERY FAST MOTION. LOOKED UP TO SEE IF I HAD BEEN REARENDED SOMEHOW AND NOT ANOTHER VEHICLE IN SIGHT. GOT OUT OF THE CAR HAD A LOOK AND FOIND NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. WALKED BACK TO THE CAR AND NOTICED THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEATS HEADREST HAD EXPLODED THUS CAUSING THE LOUD NOISE AND MY HEAD TO FLY FORWARD. I HAVE SEEN OTHER PAST MAKE AND MODELS FOR CHRYSLER/DODGE/JEEP HAVE RECALLS ALL THE WAY UP TO ABOUT 2013. HOW IS THIS STILL AN ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED YET , AGAIN? THIS IS SERIOUSLY CONCERNING. WHAT IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING WHEN THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADREST DEPLOYED? WHAT IF I HAD ONE OF MY TEENAGERS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OR A PASSENGER FOR THAT MATTER.
WHILE I AM DRIVING MY CAR, MY CAR WILL JUST SHUT OFF. I CAN BE ON THE HIGHWAY DOING 75 AND MY CAR WILL JUST DEAD STOP. I LOSE POWER IN MY STEERING WHEEL, MY BRAKES STOP WORKING. YOU CAN'T EVEN PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL DOWN. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL TURN BACK ON WHEN I TRY, OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T. ITS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR IVE HAD THIS CAR. NOBODY CAN SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHY.
CAR WILL JUST RANDOMLY SHUT OFF WHILE THE CAR IS CRUISING, ACCELERATING, OR DECELERATING. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS, SOUNDS, OR VISUAL CUES TO INDICATE ANY SORT OF PROBLEM. IN ADDITION TO THE ENGINE, THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKE ASSIST WILL ALSO SHUT DOWN. AFTER THE STALL: IT DOESN'T TRIGGER ANY ERROR CODES FOR AN OBD-II READER, MEANING TECHNICIANS WONT BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. WILL DO THIS AT ALL SPEEDS, EVEN ON THE HIGH WAY, OR PLACES THAT MAY NOT HAVE A PLACE TO PULL OFF. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.
HEADREST EJECTED WHILE I WAS DRIVING CAUSING NECK PAIN. *TR
WHILE SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY, EXPERIENCED A FLAT TIRE AND WANTED TO CHANGE THE TIRE TO A SPARE, BUT FOUND THAT NO AMOUNT OF TORQUE WOULD LOOSEN THE LUG NUTS. AFTER TRYING TWO DIFFERENT LUG WRENCHES, I ENDED UP HAVING TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER I HAD A WARRANTY WITH FOR THE TIRE. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT ALL OF THE LUGNUTS ON THE TIRE WERE DEFECTIVE (AND LATER ADDED THAT ALL OF THE OTHER LUGNUTS ON THE CAR WERE AS WELL). THEIR DEFECT IS THAT THEY HAVE A NON FERROUS (TIN?) COATING ON THEM THAT SHEARS OFF WHEN TORQUE IS APPLIED. THE LUGNUTS ATTACHING THE TIRE / WHEEL HAD TO BE HAMMERED OFF TO BE REMOVED. I HAVE SINCE HAD ALL OF THESE LUGNUTS REPLACED (EXCEPT FOR ONE) AT MY OWN EXPENSE. I BELIEVE IT I HAD BEEN STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHEN I ENCOUNTERED THE FLAT AND THE DEFECTIVE LUGNUTS, IT WOULD HAVE PUT ME AT PERSONAL RISK WHILE TRYING DESPERATELY TO REMOVE THEM - NOT TO MENTION THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY TRYING TO DO SO. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT "NO ONE WAS AT FAULT" FOR THE DEFECTIVE LUGNUTS. I TOOK EXCEPTION TO THIS, BEING OF THE OPINION THAT THE MANUFACTURER OF THESE LUGNUTS WAS VERY MUCH RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.

CAR PERFOMANCE WAS EXCELLENT, DRIVEN DAILY UNTIL 03/03/2020 AND ALWAYS RETURNED TO HOME GARAGE. WHEN STARTED THE MORNING OF 03/04/2020, THE ENGINE IMMEDIATELY RACED TO 4000 RPM IN NEUTRAL. TAPPING THE BRAKE LOWERED THE IDLE TO 1200 RPM, NOT THE NORMAL 850 (APPROXIMATE). I BACKED THE OUT OF THE GARAGE UPHILL INTO THE STREET. WHEN ENGAGED IN DRIVE THE MOMENT OF STARTING ACCELERATION THE CAR GENTLY ACCELERATE ITSELF WITH MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR TO ABOUT 40 MPH IN 1/4 MILE. TAPPING THE BRAKE STOPPED THE ACCELERATION AND THE CAR THROTTLE RETURNED TO ABOUT 1200 RPM. AFTER BRAKING TO A STOP, I STARTED TO DRIVE AROUND THE BLOCK AND THE CAR AGAIN ACCELERATED BY ITSELF. WITH MULTIPLE BRAKES TAPS, I RETURNED THE CAR INTO THE DRIVE WAY. THE NEXT DAY, AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE, THE RPM AGAIN RACED TO 4000. TAPPING THE BRAKE RETURNED THE RPM TO 1200, SIMILAR TO A CRUISE CONTROL RETURN. IN ALL CASES THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT TURNED ON AND CYCLING THE CRUISE BUTTON ON AND OFF HAD NO EFFECT. CRUISE CONTROL MECHANISM MAYBE OR MAYBE NOT BE INVOLVED. I DID AN ACCUTRON CODE READ AND NO CODES RETURNED. NO ATTEMPT TO TRY TO FIX OR REPAIR THE PROBLEM WAS MADE. CAR NEEDS TO BE ANALYZED BY NHTSA, NOT JUST REPAIRED. IT IS HAZARDOUS. I USED TO TEACH PHYSICS AND HAVE PERFORMED MOST MAJOR CAR REPAIRS SINCE 1960. I WISH TO KEEP THIS CHRYSLER 200 S RETRACTABLE CONVERTIBLE. IT WILL STAY IN MY DRIVEWAY UNTIL ANALYZED BY NHTSA.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 129,000.
ENCOUNTERED A FLAT TIRE (OBSERVED WHEN DRIVING) AND WHEN I WENT TO TAKE THE WHEEL / TIRE OFF TO PUT ON THE SPARE, FOUND I COULD NOT LOOSEN THE LUG NUTS WITH A VARIETY OF LUG WRENCHES THAT WERE TRIED. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALER AND WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE LUG NUTS HAD TO BE HAMMERED OFF THE WHEEL AND REPLACED. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE LUG NUTS ON THE REMAINING WHEELS / TIRES WERE IN THE SAME CONDITION. WHEN I ASKED THE DEALER ABOUT IT, THEY SAID THAT IT WAS "NOBODY'S FAULT" THAT THIS HAPPENED TO THE LUG NUTS. I DISAGREE - AND SUBMIT THAT IT WAS THE MANUFACTURER OF THE LUG NUTS THAT WAS "AT FAULT". I READ ABOUT A SIMILAR INCIDENT INVOLVING FORD VEHICLES THAT WAS ON THE VERGE OF A CLASS ACTION SUIT, BUT THEN DISMISSED. APPARENTLY THE OUTSIDE COATING (ALUMINUM?) ON THE LUG NUTS SHEARS OFF WHEN PRESSURE IS APPLIED. I AM LOOKING FOR COMPENSATION FOR HAVING TO REPLACE THESE, ALONG WITH A POSSIBLE FACTORY RECALL.
THE CAR HAS A TICKING BY THE RIGHT SIDE I REPORTED THIS TO MEINKE AND THEY LET THE WARRANTY EXPIRE WITH SILVERCREST BUT ITS NOTED IN MY 30 DAY WARRANTY WITH DRIVE TIME.

THIS SITUATION ALMOST CAUSED A ACCIDENT WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. IN MY RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHERS WHO HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ON THIS MAKE/MODEL HAS A 'VERY BAD' RATING ON NHTSA WEBSITE.

MY 2014 CHRYSLER 200 STARTED AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE ALARM WENT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING SO I PULLED OVER CUT THE CAR OFF THEN ATTEMPTED TO STARTED THE CAR BACK UP 5 DIFFERENT TIMES AND IT CUT ON FOR SECONDS AND CUT OFF WITH A A RED SECURITY LIGHT COMING ON AS WELL AND ALARM STILL GOING THEN ON THE 6TH TRY THE CAR WONT START ANYMORE BUT ALARM STILL GOES OFF FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD "ASSIGN" A RECALL TO THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. DWAYNE LANE'S CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (10515 EVERGREEN WAY, EVERETT, WA 98204, (425) 441-3522) STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT CREATE A "RECALL" FOR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT RELAYED THIS INFORMATION TO THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE CONTACT MAILED A LETTER TO NHTSA ON AUGUST 27, 2019, BUT HAD NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE MANUFACTURER REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD "ASSIGN" A RECALL TO THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN I FIRST PURCHASED AUTO THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD OCCASIONALLY COME ON. AFTER A NUMBER OF VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS GOING UP OR DOWN HILL THE BRAKE FLUID WOULD BE OFF THE SENSOR AND THE BRAKE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. NO REPAIRS WERE DONE OR RECOMMENDED EVEN AFTER I PUSHED THE ISSUE. MY ISSUE IS WHEN DO I KNOW IT IS JUST A FLUID LEVEL PROBLEM OR SOME OTHER BRAKE PROBLEM THAT WOULD TRIGGER THE LIGHT TO COME ON. THIS IS A CONTINUING PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT REQUIRED EXTRA EFFORT TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS WERE ALTERNATELY DEPRESSED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 180,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
PASSENGER SIDE HEADREST FALLS APART EXPOSING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. ON 10/01/2019 DEALER STATES AIRBAG NEEDS REPLACED AND IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY OR RECALL. DEALER REFUSES TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR.
WAS STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN MY PASSENGER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. CHRYSLER SAID THE PART ALONE WOULD BE $550 TO FIX - THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, AND ULTIMATELY, SHOULD NOT EVEN BE HAPPENING. SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED! I'M PLANNING ON TRADING IN MY CAR IN THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS TO AVOID MORE ISSUES LIKE THIS; TERRIBLE TERRIBLE COMPANY.

THAT SILVER METAL ROD IS STILL ENGAGED IN THE ELECTRONIC LOCK/RELEASE MECHANISM ATTACHED TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD REST. THE PLASTIC PIECES ON THE SEAT WERE FROM THAT ROD RETAINER. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE HEAT OF THE ARIZONA SUMMERS ARE CAUSING THE HEADREST PLASTIC COMPONENTS TO WEAKEN. I ALSO DON'T KNOW IF THIS WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT, OR THE BEGINNING OF A TREND. AROUND 40K MILES I NOTICED THAT MY AIR BAG DEPLOYED INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD LIGHT UP RANDOMLY AT FIRST BUT EVENTUALLY AND NOW AT 53K MILES IS ALWAYS ON AS IF MY AIR BAGS WERE DEPLOYED. I HAVE TAKEN THIS ISSUE TO THE AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER. I HAD A SIMILAR INCIDENT WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT INDICATOR THAT EVENTUALLY WENT AWAY. I DONT FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FINANCIALLY FOR THIS MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THIS ISSUE HAS ME WORRIED IF THE AIR BAGS EVEN WORK AT ALL IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.

WHEN THE CAR IS STOPPED AND I LET GO OF THE BRAKE, IT STALLS A BIT (SHAKES), IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO SHUT OFF. IT ALSO STALLS WHEN I TAKE OFF.

AT ABOUT 18,000 MILES, A LARGE PUDDLE OF OIL SUDDENLY FORMED UNDERNEATH MY CAR ON THE GARAGE FLOOR. THE DEALER IDENTIFIED THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK AS THE ENGINE OIL COOLER/HOUSING MOUNTED ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. THE SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE UNIT. THE EXACT SOURCE OF THE LEAK WAS NOT IDENTIFIED, BUT REPLACING THE UNIT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. AN INTERNET SEARCH INDICATES OTHERS HAVE HAD A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH THEIR PENTASTAR ENGINES (CHRYSLER, JEEP, AND DODGE VEHICLES). HOWEVER, THE DEALER HAD DONE ALL BUT ONE FILTER REPLACEMENT, AND THE ONE FILTER THAT WAS NOT REPLACED BY THEM WAS INDEED THE CORRECT FILTER BECAUSE IT WAS STILL IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME THE DEALER DID THE REPLACEMENT. THE UNIT REPLACEMENT COST WAS ESTIMATED AT $340, BUT LOCATION OF THE REPAIR MEANS THAT IT TAKES AN EXPERIENCED MECHANIC ABOUT 3 HOURS TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. ALTHOUGH THE REPAIR WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, IT CONCERNS ME THAT SUCH A FUNDAMENTAL COMPONENT WOULD BREAK AFTER ONLY 18K MILES AND REQUIRES SUCH AN EXTENSIVE REPAIR EFFORT.

CHRYSLER NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED!
I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE CONSTANT SQUEALING OF THE BRAKES AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHT RANDOMLY TURNING ON. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES OR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THE BRAKES ARE SO LOUD AND NOISY THAT PEOPLE CAN HEAR MY CAR COMING FROM FAR OFF, THEY SOUND LIKE I OWN AN OLD BEAT-UP VEHICLE THAT HAS NEVER BEEN SERVICED. THIS CAR IS BRAND NEW AND SHOULD NOT BE SO EMBARRASSINGLY LOUD EACH TIME I HIT THE BRAKES WHETHER IT'S AT A SLOW CREEP OR ON THE HIGHWAY. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASH IS ALSO VERY CONCERNING. AT FIRST THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD COME ON AT THE TOP OF ANY HILL OR INCLINE, LIKE AT THE TOP OF A RAMP TO ENTER THE FREEWAY. NOW, THE INDICATOR LIGHT FOR THE EMERGENCY BRAKE RANDOMLY COMES ON AT LEAST ONCE A DAY. I AM AFRAID THAT ONE DAY THE VEHICLE WILL TRY TO ENGAGE THE BRAKE ITSELF, OR THAT MY CAR WILL LOCK UP WHILE I AM DRIVING FAST DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS NEVER BEEN ENGAGED MANUALLY BY ME EXCEPT WHEN I PARK AT LOCATIONS WHERE I USE THE E-BRAKE AS A SAFETY PRECAUTION. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING AND ESPECIALLY IF I HAVEN'T TOUCHED IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG, I BEG TO DIFFER. AN ELECTRICAL FIRE SEVERELY DAMAGED MY VEHICLE. THE FIRE STARTED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE NO ACCESSORIES WERE PLUGGED IN TO THE 12V POWER PORT. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THE ONLY ACCESSORIES THAT WERE BEING USED AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WERE THE A/C AND THE RADIO. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY A HOMEOWNER, BUT THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED HEAVY DAMAGE TO THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BETWEEN THE FRONT SEATS. THE CAR IS STILL COVERED UNDER THE FULL MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY, BUT AT THIS POINT I AM BEING TOLD THAT THIS IS NOT CONSIDERED A WARRANTY ISSUE BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT PROVE THAT THE FIRE WASN'T STARTED BY A DEVICE PLUGGED INTO THE 12V POWER PORT.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 CHRYSLER 200 TO DROP MY FATHER BACK HOME. MY MOTHER AND SISTER WERE ALSO PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE.THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED ON 10/29/2014 AS CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FROM THE DEALERSHIP WITH 5846 MILES & PASSED INSPECTION ON 10/30/2014. I ASSUMED POSSESSION OF THE CAR ON 10/30/2014 AFTER IT PASSED INSPECTION. THE CAR HAD 8059 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE MY PURCHASE. I WAS QUITE STARTLED WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY & STARTED TO DECELERATE IN SPEED. THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE FREEWAY WAS 70 MPH. ALTHOUGH I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO DECREASE RAPIDLY. I REMEMBERED SEEING MY SPEED DROP AS LOW AS 19 MPH ON THE FREEWAY; A VERY SCARY THING. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO LOCKED UP, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE TO SAFETY. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR BATTERY LIGHTS INDICATING ANYTHING WAS WRONG. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS HURT & THERE WAS A REST STOP NEARBY THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO AND INTO A PARKING SPOT. THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY POWERED OFF AS THE CAR MADE IT TO THE PARKING SPOT & WAS UNABLE TO RESTART AFTER THAT. THE ENGINE WAS CHECKED, BUT NOTHING WAS VISIBLY WRONG WITH THE CAR TO CAUSE THE CAR TO MALFUNCTION THE WAY IT DID. WHILE WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK, MAYBE 45 MINUTES LATER FROM THE APPROXIMATE TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED, MY DAD MENTIONED THAT HE WAS COLD, SO I TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AGAIN TO TURN THE HEATER ON. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. MY SISTER AND I DECIDED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AROUND THE REST STOP PARKING LOT, AND TURNED IT OFF AGAIN TO SEE IF IT WOULD RESTART. IT RESTARTED WITH NO PROBLEM AND DROVE LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. EVEN AFTER THE CAR RESTARTED, THERE WERE NOT ANY WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. DRIVING ON A WELL CLEARED INTERSTATE IN LIGHT SNOW CONDITIONS, THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE SWAYS BACK AND FORTH LIKE THERE IS NO TRACTION WHILE THE FRONT END HAS TRACTION AND TRIES TO MAINTAIN TRACTION. ONCE STABILIZED AND ONLY DRIVING 20-25MPH WHEN GOING OVER A BRIDGE OR UNDER AND OVERPASS, THE LITTLE BIT OF MOISTURE IN THOSE AREAS MAKES THE REAR OF THE CAR SLIDE SIDE TO SIDE. DRIVING OVER EXPANSION JOINTS IN THE HIGHWAY MAKES THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE JUMP TO THE RIGHT. DRIVING IS STABILIZED ON COMPLETELY DRY ROADS OR IN TOWN SNOWPACKED BUT TREATED ROADS. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE ON INTERSTATES IN EVEN THE MILDEST OF ANY TYPE OF ADVERSE WEATHER. THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN OVER 25 MPH WITHOUT OUT THE REAR END SWAYING BACK AND FORTH. DURING THIS SITUATION ALL OTHER VEHICLES WERE DRIVING AT OR NEAR POSTED HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT PROBLEM. *TR

I DROVE AN ENTERPRISE RENTAL CAR, CHRYSLER 200 SEDAN. I DROVE IT FOR ABOUT 2-4 HOURS ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY, GOOD ROAD. CONDENSATION APPEARS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD. I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT OPTIONS AS TO CONTROL IT USING THE DEFROST. NOTHING WORKS. WHEN I USE THE WIPERS IT JUST SMEARS THE "FOG" ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS ONE EXAMPLE IT HAPPENED AT NIGHT AFTER MY SON'S SOCCER PRACTICE WHERE I COULD HARDLY SEE OUT THE WINDOW. IT WAS 85 DEGREES OUTSIDE AND I HAD DEFROST ON AND NOTHING WAS WORKING. I HAVE TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP AND OF COURSE, THEY CAN NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE DRIVER SEAT BELT HAS SOME ISSUES WITH BUCKLING. ULTIMATELY, IT DOES BUCKLE BUT IT IS NOT SECURE. THERE HAS BEEN INSTANCES WHERE IT UNBUCKLED BECAUSE OF A BODY MOVEMENT. IN ORDER TO BUCKLE IT I HAVE TO INSERT THE BELT INTO THE BUCKLE AT LEAST 5-6 TIMES, AND EVEN THEN I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS ENTIRELY SECURE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD FOR ME. *TR

I HAVE 8400 MILES ON MY CAR. WHILE ON VACATION WE WERE DOING A LOT MORE STOP AND GO DRIVING. THE JERKING AND LUNGING WAS HAPPENING AGAIN, AND THEN OUR ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WE ARE OUT OF STATE AND NOW HAVE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S GOING ON WITH THIS. THE CAR IS RUNNING FINE OTHERWISE, THE OIL LEVEL IS GOOD AND THE GAS CAP IS ON. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO AT THIS POINT. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED ON 12/27/13. THE NEXT DAY, AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE DRIVER PUSHED THE GAS. AFTER PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR REPEATEDLY, THE CAR MOVED. THE DEALER SAID THE CAR WAS 1 1/2 QUARTS LOW ON TRANSMISSION FLUID. SUBSEQUENTLY, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN OR TO LET ONCOMING TRAFFIC PASS, THE CAR HAS STALLED AS THE DRIVER PUSHED THE GAS THEN IT JUMPED INTO GEAR. ANOTHER TIME, THE VEHICLE JUMPED INTO GEAR AS THE DRIVER SLOWED TO MAKE A TURN. WHEN THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, THEY FOUND THE TRANSMISSION FILTERED WAS CRACKED AND REPLACED IT. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION CONTINUE. TOOK THE CAR IN FOR TEST DRIVING, WE INTEND TO LEAVE THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP TO BE TEST DRIVEN OVER TIME. THE PROBLEMS ARE NOT EVIDENT EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN. ADDITIONALLY, TODAY SOME KNOCKING OCCURRED UNDER THE CAR WHEN THE BRAKES WERE PRESSED. The Occupant Restraint Control (OCR) module may short circuit, preventing the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags from deploying in the event of a crash.
