I have Infiniti QX60 2014. I was driving with my family from a road trip. The vehicle started to jerk and violently shake when driving about 50 miles per hour. The vehicle almost stopped in the middle of the road. I pulled off and had to driver very slowly with hazard lights on for 40 minutes home. This is a major safety concern for this vehicle.
Purchased my QX60 3 months ago from a used dealership. Today while out of town, car abruptly stopped accelerating. I pushed to safety, let it sit, car began to start moving again. Within a short min, it was right back to shutting off and being stuck in traffic with 4 minor passengers. This is very dangerous and seemingly a more common issue than just me. The day after my wedding…. And I’m towing my car.
I bought a 2014 INFINITI QX60 and after one week, my vehicle started to jerk after resuming from a stop sign or stop light but was just annoying at first. Later that day, the check engine light came on and I took it to auto zone to get the code which displayed "P1715 - Input Pulley Speed Signal" and secondary DTCs were P0776 (Pressure solenoid B performance/stuck off. When I am driving, I cannot make it a mile without having my RPMs skyrocket and my vehicle become inoperable and makes me turn my flashers on and find a place to pull over, shut off my vehicle, and restart it. This repeats over and over and over if I continue to get to the grocery store for essential needs but it is not safe to drive and will for sure cause a collision if it keeps happening. There are so many issues with this make/model and needs to be addressed for the safety of others on the road and myself/children as it is unexpected and very scary.
The vehicle started to make a grinding sound and stopped suddenly in the middle of traffic. There were no warning lamps or other symptoms. Other cars had to abruptly stop and swerve to avoid hitting the rear of my vehicle. I have been informed that this is a known issue with this model of vehicle from Infiniti related to 2014 – 2017 QX60; FLUID LEAK CAUSED BY TRANSFER ASSEMBLY RIGHT SIDE DRIVE SHAFT SEAL.
I bought the SUV in 2016 with low milage. As of Sep 2021 the SUV has 79,200 miles on it. Last month I noticed that it didn't seeem to be changing gears when I was driving it and it's making a whistling noise when driving it. I've taken it to two different to have it and they both say that it's the CTV transmission. To replaced the tranmisson would cost over $6000.00. Upon researching online I saw that this seems to be ongoing problem with this SUV. We as consumers should not have to pay out of pocket for a repair that the manufactor is reaponsible for.

Electrical coupling faulty and cause the car to shudder and jerk. I took it to Priority Infinity Greenbrier it is a know issue. These coupling should last on these vehicles. component has not been inspected by manufacture. No warning notice at all
I was driving my 2014 Infiniti QX60 on the freeway with my son and out of nowhere the QX60 starts shudder and jerking while driving on the freeway. After some back and forth with dealership, was told about the transmission on this model and it needs replacing at $6940 and it is a known issue, but my mileage is over 94K and outside of the Nissan warranty. Consumer would like to withdraw the complaint, problem has been resolved.
Sunroof exploded while driving. Glass exploded everywhere and could have hit my children in the backseat, as well as my husband and I sitting in the front. No warning signs at all.

The contact owns a 2014 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered while depressing the accelerator. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle would resume normal driving once the accelerator pedal was released. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where he was informed that the transmission was defective however, the mechanic refused to fix the vehicle. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Car jerks while changing gears. It sometimes hesitates when you step on the gas and often it feels like it "bangs" into gear when it finally does change. It feels like there is a transmission problem. However there does not appear to be any recalls for this. We've had fluid flushes and changes in an effort to fix the problem but it continues to be an issue.

WE ARE EXPERIENCING SHIFTING DELAYS AND GRINDING WHEN ACCELERATING. THE CAR IS SHAKING AT AROUN 30/40 MPH SPEED AND WE HEAR WHISTLING SOUND COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD WHEN DRIVING. WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING BUT STATIONARY NO NOISE IS HEARD.
I BOUGHT MY INFINTI QX60 USED A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO. I WAS SO EXCITED TO FINALLY HAVE A BEAUTIFUL LUXURY CAR WITH EVERYTHING I WANTED AND IT WOULD BE A SAFE AND DEPENDABLE CAR EVEN THO IT WAS USED BECAUSE IT WAS AN 'INFINITI'. ALL OF A SUDDEN, RIGHT AFTER HAVING IT A YEAR, I WENT TO ACCELERATE TO GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY ABC'S IT BOGGED OUT ON ME HALFWAY THRU THE PASS OVER ONTO THE HIGHWAY.. SCARED ME TO DEATH. IT CONTINUED TO BOG IT SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THAT. WE TOOK IT TO MECHANIC TO GET THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE FOR THE ISSUE. WE CALLED THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM ABCE CONNECTED NISSAN/INFINITY. THE PROBLEM WAS A 'TRANSMISSION SHUTTER' ISSUE WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION. WE WERE SHOCKED TO FIND THAT MY DREAM CAR HAD A 'RUBBER BAND' TRANSMISSION.. WITH RECALLS ON OTHER YEARS FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION. I'VE BEEN QUOTED ANYWHERE FROM $6,000-9,000.00. I FEEL SO UPSET AND DEFEATED BY THIS. THE VEHICLE HAD LOW MILES FOR THE YEAR. IF THIS HAD BEEN A ISSUE WITH PREVIOUS YEARS AND OTHER MAKES AND MODELS, WHY WAS THIS YEAR AND MODEL INCLUDED. I AM PRAYING YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THIS..
I NOTICED A SHAKING WHEN CAR WAS RIDING AT 15-25 MPH AND WOULD GO AWAY ONCE I REACHED A HIGHER SPEED. TOOK TO MECHANIC FOR OIL CHANGE AND ASKED TO CHECK. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP BASED ON CODE THEY WERE GETTING. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS A PART OF TRANSMISSION THAT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THEY ORDERED PART AND WHEN WENT TO DO WORK ANOTHER CODE APPEARED AND I WAS TOLD THEY WERE REPLACING THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION. THEN I WAS TOLD THE ELECTRONIC REAR COUPLING WAS ALSO REPLACED. ALL WORK UNDER WARRANTY. ON THE WAY HOME FROM DEALERSHIP AFTER REPAIRS COMPLETE THE CAR COMPLETELY DIED ON ME. SHUT DOWN ON MAJOR ROAD- DEAD- NOT EVEN EMERGENCY FLASHERS WOULD WORK. HAD ARE IMMEDIATELY TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP. I WAS CALLED THE NEXT DAYS TO SAY IT WAS THE BATTERY. I DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT WAS THE PROBLEM AS THE BATTERY WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. AFTER A CHARGE THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE. I PICKED UP AND DROPPED OFF AT MY MECHANIC. THEY TESTED EVERYTHING- BATTERY COMPLETELY FINE AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. CAR WAS FINE WHEN THEY DROVE. PICKED UP 2 DAYS AGO AND HAD THE PROBLEM AGAIN TODAY. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN WHEN GOING FROM BREAKS TO GAS AND FROM PARKED TO GAS. I JUST GET A MALFUNCTION ALERT. WHEN CAR LEFT OFF FOR SOMETIME IT 'RECHARGES' AND THEN IS OKAY.

TRAVELING ON A SLIGHT INCLINE ON A CITY STREET AT 15 TO 25 MPH THE VEHICLE HAS SEVERE SHUDDERS\STUTTERS\JERKING AND HAS POOR ACCELERATION THAT PREVENTS THE DRIVER FROM MANEUVERING AND AVOIDING OTHER VEHICLES.
WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED ON A MODERATE GRADE HILL IT WILL NOT GO FORWARD WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED. THE MOTOR RPMS INCREASE BUT NO POWER IS TRANSMITTED TO THE WHEELS. THE CAR MUSH BE ALLOWED TO ROLL BACKWARDS BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES AND MOVES THE CAR FORWARD.

IF THIS OCCURS, LOSS OF POWER FOLLOWED BY SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CAN OCCUR. DUE TO A SOFTWARE MALFUNCTION, THE ENGINE MAY SUDDENLY LOSE THEN REGAIN POWER, CAUSING UNINTENDED ACCELERATION.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.
WHEN STARTING FROM A STANDSTILL, THE CAR JERKS AND HESITATES TO MOVE. SEVERAL TIMES I HAVE BEEN TAKING A LEFT AND AS I PUSH THE GAS, THE CAR JUST DOES NOTHING AND I'M AFRAID I'LL BE SITTING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TWO LANE HIGHWAY UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. AS OTHERS HAVE NOTED, THE TRANSMISSION JERKS AND IT LOOKS AS IF I'M FAILING MISERABLY AT DRIVING STICK SHIFT, BUT THE CAR IS MANUAL. WE THOUGHT FOR A LONG TIME THAT THE JERKING WAS DUE TO THE TRANSITION FROM ELECTRIC TO GAS, BUT AS THE JERKING GOT WORSE WE REALIZED IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I NOW CANNOT GET RID OF THIS CAR WITHOUT PAYING $10K ON THE LOAN BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. IT WOULD PROBABLY COST ME THE SAME TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED, BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE OTHERS HAVE PAID TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED OR REPLACED, BUT THE SAME PROBLEMS PERSIST. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE OF $11,191 FOR THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 136,000.
DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT: EVERY TIME IT RAINS OR SNOWS MOISTURE GETS BUILT UP INSIDE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND THE LIGHTS QUITS WORKING.

TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED BY DEALERSHIP FREE OF CHARGE LATE LAST YEAR, NOW TRANSMISSION IS SHUDDERING WHILE DRIVING AND CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 25-35 MPH.

I PURCHASED IN FEB 2019. SINCE MARCH MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN/OUT OF THE SHOP AT LEAST 6 TIMES FOR THE FOLLOWING ISSUES: SHUDDERING WHILE DRIVING, HESITATES TO ACCELERATE ESPECIALLY ON INCLINES AND REVERSE (I COULD BE SITTING ON A TINY INCLINE AND WHEN I ATTEMPT TO PRESS THE GAS, THE VEHICLE DOESN'T RESPOND, AND THEN WOULD EVENTUALLY JERK AND DRIVE AFTER IT CATCHES THE GEAR), NOT PROPERLY SHIFTING GEARS WHILE DRIVING (ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS DRIVING UP AN ON-RAMP ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T ACCELERATE FAST ENOUGH FOR ME TO MERGE), AND MAKES LOUD SOUNDS RANDOMLY. I'VE TAKEN IT TO MY LOCAL INFINITE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY DON'T SEE A PROBLEM WHEN THEY TEST IT. SO I THEN DROVE WITH A TECH AND DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM. BUT THEY CONTINUE TO DENY REPAIRS BECAUSE MY VEHICLE ISN'T REGISTERING ANY CODES WHILE TESTING THE TRANSMISSION, EVEN AFTER THE PROBLEM WAS DUPLICATED. THEY HAVE KEPT MY VEHICLE WEEKS AT A TIME (THEY HAVE IT RIGHT NOW) DOING SOFTWARE UPGRADES AND PATCHING WHATEVER. BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST TODAY. I'VE ONLY HAD IT FOR 8 MOS (PURCHASED PRE-OWNED). I EVEN OPENED TWO CASES WITH INFINITI CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY EVEN QUIT FOLLOWING UP. I WISH I COULD GET RID OF THIS VEHICLE. THANKFUL THAT I HAD THE SHADE CLOSED BECAUSE OTHER WISE I WOULD'VE BEEN COVERED IN GLASS AND POSSIBLY CUT. THIS HAS TO BE A RECALL, A SAFETY RECALL AT THAT.

ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR- WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STOPPED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL CONTINUE TO DEPRESS. WHEN THE BREAK IS RELEASED A CHIRPING SOUND IS MADE. THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY ISSUE ON THE 2017 MODEL. THE DEALER AND SEVERAL CHAT GROUPS ONLINE ALL POINT TO THIS BEING A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE MODEL. THERE IS A 2017 RECALL FOR THIS PART. THE RECALL SAYS IT IS A POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD. I BELIEVES THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. THE ABS BRAKE ACTUATOR SHOULD NOT FAIL ON A VEHICLE WITH 77,000 MILES. I HAD THE CAR AT THE DEALER FOR THE ISSUE PREVIOUSLY AND THEY "COULD NOT FIND" THE ISSUE. A THIRD TRIP AND THE ISSUE IS FOUND.

PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED IN AUGUST 2018, WITH ABOUT 50K MILES. BROUGHT THE CAR INTO INFINITI OF WILLIAMSVILLE, NY COMPLAINING OF A PROBLEM NOTICED WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND HYBRID SYSTEM. THE SERVICE DEPT. CLEARED A CODE FROM SOME COMPUTER AND TOLD ME TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT. I BROUGHT THE CAR IN AGAIN, COMPLAINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS REVVING UP AND DOWN A COUPLE OF 1000 RPM? THIS TIME THE SERVICE DEPT. PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE, AND AGAIN TOLD ME TO REPORT ANY PROBLEMS. FINALLY AT 64724 MILES THE TRANSMISSION FAILED ALL TOGETHER. THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, AS THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING IN AND OUT OF GEAR. THE HYBRID SYSTEM TRIED TO KEEP CAR GOING, BUT IT THREW OUT AN OVER-HEATING MESSAGE. WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A PARKING LOT AWAY FROM OTHER TRAFFIC. THE NEXT DAY I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHERE AFTER 10 DAYS OF SERVICE, THE DEALERSHIP AGREED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION UNDER THE 70K MILES POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. A TOTAL OF 24 DAYS TO REPLACE A PROBLEM THAT NO DOUBT THEY KNEW ABOUT FROM THE ONSET WAS A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. I WAS TOLD THAT THE NEW TRANSMISSION HAD 12 MONTHS, OR 12K MILES WARRANTY, BUT HAVEN'T RECEIVED THAT IN WRITING FROM THE DEALER SHIP.
I HAVE TWO CONCERNS THAT NEED TO BE ADDRESSED BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW YEARS. THE CAR WOULD SHORT OF 'STALL' DURING ACCELERATION (CAR IS STILL ON)NO MATTER WHICH DRIVING MODE (ECO, STANDARD OR SPORT), WHICH IS A MAJOR CONCERN. IT HAD A RECALL ON THE SOFTWARE A FEW YEARS AGO, WHICH APPARENTLY WAS SUPPOSED TO FIX THE ISSUE . HOWEVER, IT HAS NOT AND I HAVE TAKEN IT IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE BUT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. YET THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL MINUS THE HYBRID IS CURRENTLY RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE. IT'S A CONCERN WHEN MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR AND IT STALLS WHILE MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN. OTHER ISSUE IS WHEN I HAVE THE DRIVER ASSIST ON AND A CAR NEXT TO ME IN A SEPARATE LANE MAKES EITHER A RIGHT OR LEFT HAND TURN AND MY CAR WOULD IMMEDIATELY BRAKE. THIS IS A CONCERN BECAUSE OF THE HIGH POSSIBILITY OF GETTING REAR ENDED.

I FOUND A WARRANTY THAT WAS EXTENDED TO 94,000 DUE TO THIS SAME ISSUE. I WAS 400 MILES OVER AND THEY DENIED ME. THE CAR'S ENGINE REVS VERY HIGH AND IS VERY LOUD, NOT NORMAL.

I WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AND HEARD A LOUD BANG, LIKE A GUNSHOT OVERHEAD AND GLASS FELL INTO THE CABIN ON MYSELF, WIFE AND TWO KIDS. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, IT APPEARS THAT SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODING SUNROOFS ARE AN INCREASING PROBLEM THAT MANUFACTURERS AND DEALERSHIPS REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE, WHICH IS ALSO OUR EXPERIENCE AS WE WERE FORCED TO FILE AN INSURANCE CLAIM IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE SUNROOF.

ON A RECENT TRIP TO SAN ANTONIO, TX HILL COUNTRY ON A VERY HOT DAY, THE HYBRID SYSTEM OVER-HEATED ON A SLOW SPEED CLIMB TO A STEEP HILL. ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SHUTTER AND STOPPED POWERING THE WHEELS. THE VEHICLE START TO ROLL BACK ON TO CARS COMING BEHIND. I HAD TO PRESS EMERGENCY BRAKE AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE FOR 10 MINUTES. ON START THE HYBRID WARNING SIGN WAS STILL ON. HOWEVER THE POWERR TO WHEEL WERE BACK WITH CAR STILL SHUTTERING. FROM THEN ONWARDS HAD TO START AND STOP THE ENGINE UNTIL REACHING THE TOP OF THE HILL. ON REACHING TOP, HAD TO STOP AND PARK THE CAR FOR 2 HRS. START THE CAR AGAIN, STILL THE HYBRID WARNING SIGN ON. ALSO NOTICE THE PART OF THIRD ROW SEAT BURNT WHERE THE HYBRID BATTERY IS STORED. HOWEVER THE DEALER MENTIONS THEY BATTERY IS FINE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A SECURITY UPDATE FROM 2015 WAS NOT APPLIED TO THE CAR. I'M NOT SURE HOW A DEALERSHIP SERVICE VEHICLE COULD BE MISSING A 3 YEAR OLD PATCH, BUT WE WILL IGNORE THAT FACT FOR NOW. EVEN WITH THE SECURITY UPDATE, THE CAR IS EXHIBITING THE SAME BEHAVIOR. IT IS UNFORTUNATELY NOT CONSISTENT THOUGH, SO SERVICE HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIX. THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED ALREADY FOR SAFETY.

I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN 2015. A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. IT STARTED TO GIVE ME INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT LIGHTS (BUT NOT THE HEADLIGHT). A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER I FIRST NOTICE THE PROBLEM, I HAD THE CHANCE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. WHEN THEY TESTED THE VEHICLE THEY DIDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEMS. I DROVE HOME PUZZLED BECAUSE WHEN I DROVE TO THE DEALER THAT MORNING THE ONE OF THE LIGHTS OF OFF. SO I TESTED THE LIGHTS AS SOON AS I GOT HOME AND THE LIGHT DIDN'T GO ON. I IMMEDIATELY CALL THE REP THAT HELP ME AT THE DEALER AND LEFT A MESSAGE. SINCE IT WAS CLOSE TO 5:30 PM I FIGURED THE REP WOULD BE CALLING ME NEXT DAY IN THE AM. NO ONE DID AND I FORGOT ABOUT THE PROBLEM DO TO WORK. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS UNTIL THE LIGHT STOPPED WORKING. BY NOW THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTEE BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT AFFECTING MY DRIVING OR IT WAS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE. HOWEVER, JUST LAST WEEK, ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DRIVER SIDE ARE NOT WORKING EXCEPT FOR THE FOG LIGHT. WHEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC, THE TEST REVEALED THAT THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM AS PER HIS DEALER CONTACT COST $1600. IT IS THE BALESTER. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER REP THEY HAVE HAD LOTS OF PROBLEMS WITH THOSE; HOWEVER, IF THAT IS THE CASE I NEVER RECEIVE ANY COMMUNICATION FROM INFINITI EVEN AFTER ME BRINGING MY VEHICLE FOR REPAIRS. THE COST OF REPAIR WITH LABOR NOW IS GOING TO BE OVER $2000 WHEN IT COULD HAVE BEEN FIXED WHILE ON WARRANTY.
MY 2014 INFINITI QX60 HAS A SUNROOF THAT EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65MPH WHEN I HEARD THE LOUDEST "BANG" I HAVE EVER HEARD. I THOUGHT THE CAR HAD GOTTEN SHOT. UPON PULLING OVER AND EXAMINING THE VEHICLE, I SAW THAT THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. I HAD NOT PASSED UNDER ANY OVERPASSES, NO TRUCKS WERE NEAR MY VEHICLE. I NOTED THAT THE THERE WAS NOT EVEN A SCRATCH TO THE INTERIOR SUNROOF PANEL, WHICH WOULD HAVE SUSTAINED DAMAGE IF SOMETHING HAD FALLEN ON IT. FURTHERMORE, IT WAS OBVIOUS FROM THE GLASS THAT THE DAMAGE WAS NOT FROM A FALLING OBJECT. SHARDS OF GLASS HAD APPARENTLY BLOWN INTO THE STREETS AS I DROVE. I WAS ALMOST INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE 95 WHEN MERGING, INFINITI HAS REPLACED TRANMISSION AND MULTIPLE OTHER PARTS BUT PROBLEM STILL NOT FIXED. THERE IS STILL A VIBRATING METAL NOISE WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE UP HILL AT A SLOW SPEED, NOT ACTUALLY ACCELERATING JUST MAINTAINING THE SPEED. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 23000 MILES ON IT. INFINITI IS REFUSING TO ACCEPT THERE IS AN ISSUE SAYS THERE IS NO SAFETY ISSUE. INFINITI EXECUTIVE OFFICE ADVISED IF IT DOES NOT HAPPEN WHEN THEIR TECHNICIAN DRIVES THE CAR THERE IS NOT ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE EVEN IF IT IS RECORDED. UNFORTUNATELY IT IS A SPORATIC THING AND UNLESS YOU DRIVE IT 500 MILES YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE ANYTHING OCCUR. I HAD 2 MAJOR INCIDENTS WITHIN 500 MILES. INFINITI EXECUTIVE OFFICE ALSO INDICATED THAT THE NUMBER OF REPAIRS DOES NOT WARRANT A BUYBACK OR SELL BACK OPTION EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE 5 TIMES, WHEN ASKED HOW MANY TIME WOULD WARRANT IT THEY ADVISED THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW MY STATES LAWS. I WAS ADVISED TO PICK UP THE VEHICLE TODAY. SAD THEY ARE WILLING TO PUT A FAMILY IN DANGER EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A VERY KNOWN PROBLEM AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET.

I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY INFINITI QX60 SINCE I PURCHASED IT 09/2014. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH IT ACCELERATING. I WOULD PRESS ON THE GAS AND IT WOULDN'T GIVE ME THE ACELLERATION THAT I WOULD EXPECT FROM THIS CAR... IT IS VERY SLUGGISH. I HAVE TOLD THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE 2014. EVERY TIME THEY CHECKED IT, THEY SAID THERE WASN'T A PROBLEM. ONE TIME, I RECEIVED THE SAME CAR AS A LOANER CAR WHILE THEY WORKED ON MY CAR, AND I COULD CLEARLY SEE THAT THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE IN THE WAY THAT CAR DROVE VERSUS MINE. THE LOANER CAR DROVE BETTER THAN MY CAR. SO, TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AT THE DEALERSHIP IN MID-MAY (LAST MONTH) TO BE LOOKED AT. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH MY CAR (JUDDER ISSUE) AND THEY HAD MY CAR FOR A WEEK. DURING THAT TIME, I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND OTHERS HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS. ONE PERSON SAID THAT THEIR DEALERSHIP ENDED UP PURCHASING THEIR CAR BACK FROM THEM/ REFUNDED THEIR MONEY BECAUSE THE JUDDER ISSUE WASN'T RESOLVED. I ALSO SPOKE TO A REGIONAL SPECIALIST AT INFINITI AND HAVE A CASE # OF CASE # 22529177. I AM GOING TO CONTACT THE REGIONAL SPECIALIST AGAIN BECAUSE THIS ISSUE ISN'T RESOLVED BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT INFINITI SELLS INFERIOR CARS. ANOTHER ISSUE IS THE RUBBER MOLDING ON THE PASSENGER RIGHT DOOR IS COMING OFF AND PREVENTING ME FROM CLOSING THE DOOR AND WHEN SOMEONE IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, WITH THEIR SEATBELT IS ON, THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON. 2014 QX 60 ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS (DEC 18, 2015 AND JAN 2ND,2016, ROUGHLY 2 WEEKS APART ) THE TOP BOLTS ON THE FRONT BREAK CALIPERS FELL OFF CAUSING THE CALIPER TO TILT OFF THE ROTOR. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL STARTED MAKING SOME GRINDING NOISES WHILE DRIVING, AS IF THE BREAK PADS WERE LOW. THE NOISE STARTED OFF A BEING VERY LIGHT WHEN BREAKING, THEN CONTINUOUS GRINDING. IT WAS NOT UNTIL FURTHER INSPECTION THAT WE REALIZED THAT THE ENTIRE CALIPER FALLEN FORWARD AND WAS RUBBING ONTO THE INTERIOR OF THE WHEEL RIM. WE MADE THE REPAIR AND REPLACED THE BOLT AND ASSUMED IT WAS A FLUKE AND JUST ONE OF THOSE RANDOM THINGS. TWO WEEKS LATER, WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN SAN DIEGO, WE STARTED TO HEAR THE SAME NOISE AGAIN. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION WE DISCOVERED THAT THE OTHER FRONT CALIPER HAD ALSO BECOME DISENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST INIFINTI DEALER FOR INSPECTION. IT WAS A SATURDAY EVENING AND WAS NOT TILL TUESDAY MORNING WHEN THEIR SERVICE DEPT REPLACED THE MISSING BOLT AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE SECOND INCIDENT, I RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE TO DISCOVER THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED ON THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WE EXPERIENCED, WITH THE CALIPER BOLTS NOT BEING TORQUED ON DURING THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. HOWEVER AFTER DISCUSSING WITH THE DEALER AND INFINITI, I WAS TOLD THE RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE THE MANUFACTURING DATE OF MY VEHICLE. IN THE FIRST INSTANCE THE BREAK PADS WERE STILL INTACT WITH THE CALIPER WHEN IT SHIFTED FORWARD OFF THE ROTOR. IN THE SECOND INSTANCE THE BREAK PADS ACTUALLY SLIPPED OFF THE CALIPER. PHOTO ATTACHED.
THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL. A TEST DRIVE WITH THE DEALERSHIP ON 11/19/2014 REVEALED, SETTING THE CRUISE AT 40 MPH SHOWED AN INCREASE IN SPEED OF 30+ MPH, DOWNHILL. WHEN GOING DOWNHILL THE VEHICLE WILL INCREASE IN SPEED WITH THE ENGINE RPM'S REMAINING AT 1500 RPM'S, 1500RPM = 40 MPH. THIS CLEARLY SHOWS THE CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT RELEASING THE THROTTLE AND NOT DOWNSHIFTING TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN, AS STANDARD CRUISE DOES. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A FULL STOP INTO A RIGHT OR A LEFT TURN, THE RPMS GO UP BUT THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE. THIS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 3-4 TIMES BEFORE MY FIRST 5000 MILES. I WAS TOLD IT WAS PART OF THE ENGINE BREAK-IN PROCESS. WHEN I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE IN FOR ITS 10K SERVICE, I AGAIN COMPLAINED OF THIS HAPPENING, BUT THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE RESULTS. IT HAS HAPPENED 2X SINCE MY LAST SERVICE, ONCE WITHIN 24 HRS OF THE SERVICE AND THE OTHER AT APPROXIMATELY 14910 MILES. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AS I'M AFRAID TO GET REAR ENDED. I HAVE FOUND AT LEAST 3 OTHER REPORTED INCIDENCES OF THIS BY OTHERS ONLINE AND THE DEALERS DON'T SEEM TO BE DOING ANYTHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. SINCE WE HAVE PURCHASED OUR CAR BRAND NEW IN 2014 WE HAVE HAD ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. RANDOMLY, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A PERSON SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR IS LIT "OFF" AS IF NOONE IS SITTING IN THE CAR SEAT. WE HAVE RECORDED VIDEOS OF MULTIPLE EVENTS AND HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER. EACH TIME THE DEALERSHIP RUNS A SCAN IT TELLS THEM THAT THE CAR IS OPERATING NORMALLY. I HAVE EVEN DEALT WITH INFINITI DIRECTLY AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO COME UP WITH A FIX AND KEEP TELLING US TO BE PATIENT BECAUSE THEY ARE WORKING ON RESOLVING THIS PROBLEM. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR NOW FOR ALMOST 1 1/2 YEARS AND STILL NO GOOD FIX BY INFINITI. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND WE FEEL IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE SINCE AN AIRBAG WOULD NOT GO OFF DURING AN ACCIDENT EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.

VEHICLE IS MOVING WHEN PARKED IN INCLINED POSITION. REMOVING THE VEHICLE FROM "PARK" ON A INCLINED ROAD IT IS MOVING FREELY. WE HAVE PARKED ON A INCLINED ROAD AND AS SOON AS I REMOVE IT FROM PARK TO REVERSE IT WENT FORWARD FREELY. I HAVE TO HIT THE GAS FULL, IN ORDER TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,569.
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEAR A LOUD BOOM, AS IF A GUN WAS FIRED RIGHT BY MY EAR. I ALMOST RAN INTO ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE IT STARTLED ME SO. I PULLED OFF ONTO A MEDIAN AND INSPECTED THE CAR. I LOOKED AT MY CAR AND WHEN I LOOKED AT THE ROOF, I REALIZED THAT MY SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED. I WAS SHOCKED! I WAS VERY FORTUNATE TO NOT HAVE GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT. MY SON, WHO WAS WITH ME WAS ALSO VERY SCARED. HE WAS WORRIED ABOUT THE OTHER WINDOWS EXPLODING. IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING.
WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A DEAD STOP SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE PAUSES AND MOVES VERY SLOWLY ENOUGH TO GET YOU IN THE FRONT OF ON COMING VEHICLES, AND THEN WILL NOT EXCEED OVER 10 TO 12 MPH WHICH TAKES UP TO 30 TO 45 SEC. OR MORE. I NARROWLY ESCAPED A SEMI TRUCK HITTING ME ON THE DRIVERS SIDE PULLING OUT OF OUR LOCAL POST OFFICE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE NEEDED TO YANK THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD SO AS NOT TO GET REAR ENDED IN TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES, WHICH THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE ISSUE BY REPLACING SOMETHING CALLED A BREAK SWITCH, "TWICE" THIS HOWEVER DID NOT CORRECT PROBLEM. THE NATIONAL INFINITI GROUP SENT A RECORDING DEVICE WHICH THE DEALER INSTALLED, THIS MEANT THAT WHEN THIS EVENT OCCURRED I WAS SUPPOSED TO REACH DOWN TO THE CONSOLE WHERE THE DEVICE WAS LOCATED AND PUSH A BUTTON TO RECORD EVENT ALL THE WHILE TRYING TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I SUCCESSFULLY DID IT WITHOUT INCIDENT AND RECORDED THE REQUESTED 6 EVENTS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN CONSISTENTLY OCCURRING NOW FOR 7 MONTHS. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR MY ELDERLY PARENTS WITH EVERY AVAILABLE SAFETY OPTION FOR THEIR SAFETY, AND I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO LET THEM DRIVE THE CAR FOR OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE THEY TOOK IT ON A TRIP. FEARING THAT THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO REACT FAST ENOUGH TO AVOID BEING IN AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE GETTING KILLED IN THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO DRIVE IT. PURCHASED CAR 11/2013 NEW FROM DEALERSHIP. WITHIN THREE MONTHS, FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT BEGAN COMING ON EVEN THOUGH A PASSENGER WAS IN THE SEAT. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON & OFF EVER SINCE. THERE HAS BEEN NO PATTERN DISTINGUISHABLE -- NO CORRELATION BETWEEN WEIGHT OF PERSON, IN CAR WHEN/WHEN NOT STARTED, NOR HOW LONG LIGHT HAS STAYED ON OR IF IT DID GO OFF AFTER >3MIN. WE HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES, FOUR OFFICIALLY ON THE SERVICE HISTORY, AND AT LEAST TWO OTHER TIMES AS A "DRIVE THRU" TO CONFIRM THAT INDEED MY FAMILY WOULD BE SAFE IF IN AN ACCIDENT (VERBAL REASSURANCE GIVEN BY SERVICE MANAGER FOR EACH OF THOSE "DRIVE-THRU" TIMES). SERVICE MANAGER SAID SYSTEM IS WORKING PROPERLY PRIOR TO INITIAL OCS REPROGRAM COMPLETED 6/5/14 (RECALL NUMBER 14V138000). LIGHT REMAINED ON WHILE PULLING OUT OF DEALERSHIP ON 6/5/14 AND THEY REPROGRAMED IT AGAIN BEFORE LEAVING. DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE DEALERSHIP IS OVER 30 MILES AWAY, AS WELL AS THEIR INSISTENCE THAT THE SYSTEM IS "WORKING PROPERLY", I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT IS MANY TIMES WHEN THE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON. IF TAKEN IN EACH TIME, THIS WOULD BE PROBABLY EVERY TEN DAYS - TWO WEEKS. IF THE LIGHT HAS NOT GONE OFF, I HAVE MADE THAT PERSON GET INTO THE BACK SEAT. OVER 90% OF THE TIME, THESE HAVE BEEN FAMILY MEMBERS, WEIGHING BETWEEN 90#-200# AND ALL OVER 5' TALL. ADDITIONAL SERVICE HISTORY TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE ARE: 8/20/14, 8/25/14, 3/24/15. SERVICE MANAGER FREQUENTLY UNABLE TO DUPLICATE CONCERNS, INSISTS SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING APPROPRIATELY. PROBLEM 1: APPROXIMATELY 4 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, WE NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WOULD DEACTIVATE DURING OPERATION WHILE AN ADULT WAS IN THE SEAT. CAR WAS TAKEN TO INFINITI DEALER AND SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED ACCORDING TO THE AIRBAG RECALL. HOWEVER THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO REMAIN AND THE PASSENGER AIRBAG STILL RANDOMLY DEACTIVATES WHILE AN ADULT IS IN THE SEAT. INFINITI HAS BEEN INFORMED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT STATES THAT THE ISSUE CANNOT BE REPLICATED AND AS SUCH HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX IT. INFINITI HAS STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS CONTINUE TO WORK AND IS THE FIRST LINE DEFENSE IN AN ACCIDENT! PROBLEM 2: APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, WE EXPERIENCED TRANSMISSION JUDDER AT LOW SPEEDS (5-10MPH) AND GOING AROUND CORNERS. INFINITI UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE BUT THE ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN FULLY SOLVED. THE TRANSMISSION STILL HAS SOME JUDDERING. INFINITI HAS BEEN INFORMED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT STATES THAT THE ISSUE CANNOT BE REPLICATED AND AS SUCH HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING TO FIX IT. *TR
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS,THE GAS PEDAL ON THE CAR GOT STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION CAUSING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE UNCONTROLLABLY. THE FIRST TIME WAS WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO THE HIGHWAY. WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL, IT STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION AND I HAD TO MANUALLY DISENGAGE IT WITH MY FOOT. THE SECOND TIME ON 3/7/2015 AT 2050, MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AT A STEADY SPEED OF 65 MPH WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WENT DOWN ON ITS OWN CAUSING THE CAR TO ACCELERATE TO APPROXIMATELY 85 MPH BEFORE SHE WAS ABLE TO DISENGAGE THE PEDAL. THERE WAS NOTHING UNDERNEATH THE PEDAL TO CAUSE IT TO GET STUCK EITHER TIME. MY WIFE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD BY THE GENERAL MANAGER, [XXX], THAT IT WAS PROBABLY THE RUG STUCK UNDER THE PEDAL AND THE ALL WEATHER MAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN PUT OVER THE STANDARD MAT. THESE HAD BEEN INSTALLED BY THE DEALER AND WE EXPLAINED THAT THE MATS WERE NOT NEAR THE PEDAL. THEY FINALLY AGREED TO COME GET THE VEHICLE TO CHECK IT. WHEN THE DRIVER CAME TO PICK IT UP, HE STATED HE WAS TOLD THE MATS WERE CAUSING THE PEDAL TO GET STUCK. WE TOLD HIM THAT WAS NOT THE CASE AND WE DIDN'T THINK THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. HE TESTED THE GAS PEDAL WITH THE VEHICLE OFF AND SAID IT FELT ABNORMAL. IT HAD A CLICK MID WAY DOWN AS WELL AS A CLICK AT THE VERY BOTTOM OF THY RANGE OF THE PEDAL. GAS MUST BE PRESSED TO 3/4 FULL SPEED IN ORDER TO ENGAGE POWER. 3) TRANSMISSION DESIGN FLAW- IN ANY GEAR OTHER THAN PARK, THE CAR CAN ROLL FREELY IN ANY DIRECTION, WITH OR WITHOUT ENGINE RUNNING. FOR EXAMPLE IF FACING DOWNHILL AND IN REVERSE, WITH CAR RUNNING, THE CAR CAN ROLL FORWARD WITHOUT STOP OR RESISTANCE FROM THE TRANSMISSION / ENGINE OR STALLING OUT, HENCE LOCKING THE ENGINE. 4) BATTERY ISSUE- ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF PURCHASE, THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEPLETED REQUIRING A JUMP START. SEVERAL TIMES A MONTH THIS OCCURS. FROM A STANDSTILL, I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO TURN INTO TRAFFIC, AND AFTER THE CAR INITIALLY MOVES FORWARD, THE CAR APPEARS TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWS THAT IT'S IN DRIVE. THE ENGINE RPMS REV WITH THE ACCELERATOR PRESSED, BUT THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OR MOVE. LIFTING UP AND RE-PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR ONLY MAKES THE TACHOMETER RPMS REV UP, BUT AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS, THE CAR POPS BACK INTO GEAR. WHEN I PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC, I COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF MY CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND LIES DEAD IN THE ROAD! THE DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT ONLY OCCURS A FEW TIMES A MONTH, BUT IT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 12 MONTHS NOW. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE TRAVELING ON I-95 SOUTHBOUND FROM CT TO NY WHEN OUR BRAND NEW INFINITY QX60 SIMPLY STOPPED DRIVING BETWEEN EXIT 19 AND EXIT 18 (NE11.9). THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING BUT THE CAR COULD NOT MOVE. WE USED WHATEVER MOMENTUM LEFT ON THE CAR TO MOVE TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THIS MALFUNCTION WAS A LIFE ENDANGERING MECHANICAL FAILURE SINCE WE WERE TRAVELING ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. THE QX60 WAS TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED DUE TO THE TRAFFIC JAM AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THE 2014 INFINITI QX60 SHUDDERS (OR BUCKS) MODERATELY TO SEVERELY AFTER RE-APPLYING THE GAS AFTER CRUISING/ROLLING AT 20 MPH WITH RPM AT APPROXIMATELY 1,000. THIS HAPPENS TO ME REPEATEDLY (EVERY DAY) BECAUSE MY HOUSE IS AT THE TOP OF THE CURVE OF HILL. I CALLED THE DEALERS SERVICE DEPARTMENT FOR AN APPOINTMENT AND SINCE THERE "WASN'T A BIG CONCERN" GAVE ME AN APPOINTMENT A WEEK LATER. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE SITUATION. THEY SAID THAT THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. "ALL AIR BAGS WORKED AS DESIGNED". PERFORMED A HARD RESET ON PASSENGER OC SENSOR. MY WIFE PURCHASED 2014 INFINITI QX-60 SUV ON JANUARY 23, 2014. SHE NOTICED WHEN SETTING THE INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL AT 40 MPH THE VEHICLE WILL PICK-UP SPEED GOING DOWNHILL. DEPENDING ON THE LENGTH AND GRADE OF THE HILL THE VEHICLE WILL INCREASE AS MUCH AS 30+ MPH. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS PERSON, AND WAS TOLD TO CALL THE DEALERSHIPS SERVICE MANAGER TO SCHEDULE A TEST DRIVE OF THE SAME MODEL. I FOUND IT TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AS MY WIFE'S CAR. I CALL THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS PERSON AT INFINITI AND TOLD HIM WHAT I FOUND. THE INFINITI REPRESENTATIVE HAPPEN TO BE IN THE SERVICES MANAGERS OFFICE SO I EXPLAINED MY PROBLEM TO THEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER SUGGESTED WE GO FOR A TEST DRIVE, AND HE DROVE. HE SET THE INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL AT 40 MPH, WHEN WE STARTED DOWNHILL THE VEHICLE PICKING UP SPEED. WHEN WE REACHED THE BOTTOM WE CONTINUED TO PICK UP SPEED, ALMOST 30 MPH. THE SERVICE MANAGER CONTACTED THE INFINITI TECHNICAL SUPPORT GROUP AND EXPLAIN WHAT HE EXPERIENCED, AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS NORMAL. I LEASED THIS 2014 QX60 ON 10/23/2013. WITHIN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS WE NOTICED THAT THE "AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT WOULD GO ON WHILE MY WIFE WAS IN THE FRONT SEAT. IT WOULD COME ON FOR SEVERAL MINUTES THEN GO OFF. THIS OCCURRED RANDOMLY AND WOULD OCCUR DAYS APART. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY ADJUSTED THE SENSITIVITY. THE ISSUE STARTED BACK A MONTH LATER AND WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK ON 2/26/14 AND THEY PERFORMED A ZERO POINT RESET. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THE SECOND ISSUE CAME ABOUT AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AND HAS YET TO BE FIXED. THE ACCELERATOR WILL INTERMITTENTLY NOT WORK. THIS HAPPENS EITHER FROM A STOP ? I GO TO HIT THE GAS AND EITHER NOTHING HAPPENS OR THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD AND STOPS. I WILL PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR AGAIN AND IT WILL WORK. THE OTHER TIME IS WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AND GO TO INCREASE YOUR SPEED ? YOU PRESS ON THE GAS AND THE RPM?S GO DOWN AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I PRESS ON THE GAS AGAIN AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I TRY AGAIN AND IT WILL KICK IN. THE DEALERSHIP HAD OUR CAR FOR 6 WEEKS FOR THE SECOND ISSUE AND CANNOT REPLICATE IT SO THEREFORE THEY WON?T DO ANYTHING FOR US. TWO WEEKS LATER AS I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT LESS THAN 15 MPH, THE DRIVER SEAT BELT SUDDENLY PRE-TENSED TIGHTLY AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES, SUDDENLY PINNING ME TO SEAT UNTIL VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY STOPPED. IT HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY WHEN GENTLY APPLYING BRAKE WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED ON RESIDENTIAL STREET. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED EACH TIME IT HAPPENED WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT LOW SPEED WITH NO VEHICLES OR OBSTACLES IN VICINITY. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE CHECKED THE VEHICLE OVER 24 HOURS AND COULD NOT DETECT THE PROBLEM, RETURNING THE VEHICLE TO ME. AFTER A WEEK IT BEGAN AGAIN, EACH TIME TIGHTENING QUICKLY AND PINNING ME INTO MY SEAT UNTIL VEHICLE COMPLETELY STOPPED. OCCURRED RANDOMLY AT SPEEDS LESS THAN 20MPH AND NO CARS, PEDESTRIANS OR OBSTACLES NEAR VEHICLE. NO ALARMS, NO WARNING AND NO REASON. NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS IT OCCURRED AS OFTEN AS 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN 24HRS, I LEFT MY VEHICLE AT DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AGAIN. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS, BOTH SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AND SERVICE MANAGER STATED THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THE SEAT BELT IS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH AIRBAG/SAFETY SYSTEM OR RECOGNIZE THE HYBRID SYSTEM. SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE CONFIRMED OTHER QX60 HYBRIDS DETECTED SAME SEAT BELT MALFUNCTIONING DURING MANUFACTURING LINE TEST. In the affected vehicles the hood release cable assembly may have been installed incorrectly preventing the latching claw from fully engaging. The secondary latch may remain in the open position when the hood is closed.

(Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.
