TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LEXUS LS460. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LUNGED FORWARD (INVOLUNTARY ACCELERATION). THE CONTACT HAD NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HE PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE HIT THE POST OF A FENCE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE STREET. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER BUT IT FELL ONTO THE TIRE AND BLOCKED THE ABILITY TO TURN THE WHEEL. THE WERE NO INJURIES AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER LEXUS OF SOUTHAMPTON 299 COUNTY ROAD 39A, SOUTHAMPTON, NY 11968 (631) 259-0300.. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL AT THE DEALER UNREPAIRED AND WAS WAITING TO BE EXAMINED BY AN INDEPENDENT ENGINEER. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED A CASE FOR THE CONTACT AND WAS AWAITING THE RESULTS FORM THE ENGINEER'S REPORT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.*DT*JB *JS
FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR BARKS EVERY TIME BREAK PEDAL IS PRESSED AT ANY SPEED. CONSTANT BEEPING INSIDE MY CAR, COULDN'T FIGURE WHAT IT WAS OR WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM. BAD BRAKE BOOSTER AND "ACTUATOR". SAFETY!!!
BRAKE SYSTEM MAKES , "BARK" NOISE WHEN STOPPING. NOISE CAN ACTUALLY BE HEARD BEHIND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DASH AREA INSIDE THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE RUNNING AND IN MOTION. ANY SPEED. PRETTY MUCH HAPPENS EVERY DAY OF DRIVING. I HAVE A CONCERN FOR BRAKE AND VEHICLE SAFETY WHEN PARKED , VEHICLE RUNNING, NO NOISE WHEN BRAKE PEDAL APPLIED. COMMOM PROBLE WITH THIS LEXUS?
BRAKE PEDAL STARTED PULSATING AND WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON. TOOK TO MECHANIC HE REPLACED THE BRAKE ACCUMULATOR FIRST THEN THE BRAKE ACTUATOR. THE CAR HAS ONLY COMPLETED 64,000 MILES. *TR
DRIVING IN LAS VEGAS ON PARADISE RD (NORTH), SOMEWHERE AROUND E DESERT INN RD INTERSECTION. MY SPEED WAS ABOUT 30-35 MPH. THERE WERE STEEL PLATES ON THE ROAD. PRE-CRASH SYSTEM OF MY LEXUS SUDDENLY ACTIVATED WITHOUT ANY REASON (MAXIMUM BREAK STRENGHT, SEAT BELTS ALSO TIGHTENED) AND COMPLETELY STOPPED THE CAR. IT WAS EXTREMELY SCARRY. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND IT LOOKS SIMILAR TO A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2013-2015 LEXUS ES/TOYOTA AVALON (RESOLVED BY A RECALL).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LEXUS LS460. WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (STEVE LANDERS TOYOTA), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE MULTIPLE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS, BUT NO SPECIFIC REPAIR REMEDY FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,336.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LEXUS LS460. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, A BURNT ODOR DEVELOPED INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW THE ORIGIN OF THE ODOR. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR PANEL NEAR THE LOCATION OF THE COURTESY LIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT NO DEFECTS WERE FOUND THAT MAY HAVE CAUSED THE SMALL FIRE AROUND THE LIGHT, WHICH DAMAGED THE LEATHER ON THE DOOR PANEL. THE MANUFACTURER SENT A FIELD INVESTIGATOR WHO DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE NO WORKMANSHIP DEFECTS FROM THE FACTORY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,306.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 LEXUS LS460. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RODENTS ENTERED INTO HOOD OF THE VEHICLE AND CHEWED THE WIRING HARNESS AND KNOCK SENSOR. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,690. UPDATED 09/20/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE FAILURE RECURRED. *JS
