The contact owns 2014 Mercedes-Benz CL250. The contact stated while driving at night the driver’s side headlight became inoperable. Additionally, while using the left turn signal there was an abnormal clicking noise detected. The check left turn signal, driver’s side low beam, running lights and driver’s side parking light message was displayed. Additionally, while driving at night on another occasion, the passenger’s side headlight became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the gasket had deteriorated, and moisture was in the headlamps. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000. The VIN was not available.
I was trying to merge onto a freeway from a complete stop and because this freeway has an extremely short on-ramp, you need to get up to a high speed in very little time. As such, I put my car in Sport driving mode and accelerated very hard from a complete stop. The car accelerated as normal for a few seconds (I reached approximately 40 to 50 MPH), then I felt the car lag and felt a loss of power. The car was in limp mode and I couldn’t accelerate even though I was pressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor. A few seconds after this occurred, I notice that the check engine light turned on. I was able to maintain a speed around 50 MPH and got off the freeway. I took my car to both the Mercedes dealership and an independent mechanic and both diagnosed a failure of the high pressure fuel pump. I also tried to see if this will happen again and after hard acceleration in regular driving mode, the exact same issues occurred. I have read that there are issues with the high pressure fuel pump with my car model and I ask that you guys please investigate thoroughly to see if a recall would be necessary. Losing power while accelerating is extremely dangerous and a huge safety hazard for all drivers on the road. I could have easily been rear ended by another driver since I couldn’t accelerate to a faster speed. I have not yet replaced the high pressure fuel pump but plan to do so in the next few days. Attached is the diagnostic invoice from the Mercedes dealership. As stated on the invoice, please note that my car only has 43,000 miles, which makes the high pressure fuel pump failure very surprising.
The contact owns a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C250. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at various speeds, she depressed the brake pedal but it hesitated to respond. As a result, excessive force was applied to the brake pedal in order to slow down the vehicle. Due to the failure, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the barrier wall and the metal fence. No air bags were deployed. The contact's daughter sustained a fractured nose, lip laceration, and other unknown facial injuries due to the driver hitting the steering wheel during the impact. No medical attention was contacted yet but will be in the future. A police report was filed. The police transferred the vehicle from the crash site to a tow yard where the police are awaiting the insurance adjustor. Damages were to the front end. The manufacturer nor the dealer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 60,000
The current vehicle I have, is suppose to have a back up camera as part of being the basic standard for a 2014 C- class mercedes Benz. Ive asked the place I bought he car from and also Ed hicks imports, who also legally sells mercedes Benz in Corpus Christi, to install one, especially because according to the vin reports I bought, it was initially on the vehicle. I was even willing to pay them to install a factory made original MB backup camera that should’ve been there in the first place but they tell me to go buy an aftermarket! After further research, it turns out mercedes Benz makes all their cars with backup cameras or the PARKTRONIC option which is added sensors !!! Before my car was even brought over to the USA in 2014! Yes, all of these issues have been confirmed by another dealer, which is auto nation here!!!! Besides that, Ed hicks imports supposedly fixed two factory recalls with my car, where one was if the airbag on the passenger front side goes off, it would kill or harm, myself, and any occupants in the vehicle due to the metal fragments that would also burst and pierce, or exit through our bodies. However, my airbag notification comes on every time someone is in the front passenger seat as a warning, as well as my own driver side airbag that just started coming up when I turn on my vehicle. The steering is not fully mounted straight either, so it’s causing me a ton of gas to get to the closest places in town, as well as having me turn the wheel twice as much as I normally would need to on a car with a steering wheel properly mounted, which makes the time for me to finally turn my vehicle at any given time to turn a lot slower than other drivers around me. The last thing is the body of my vehicle not be big properly aligned, I did not know the car had been in ANY accidents, and recently discovered it’s been in 7 !!!so it makes sense why the whole chassis resembles a Chopshop car All of these parts of my vehicle are available for inspection

On 5/15/2021, I was driving in Phoenix, AZ at about 35-40mph and heard a large bang. Was not sure what happened. Struck nothing. It was dark. The next morning I came out and noticed that the glass panel in front of my panoramic sun roof had completely shattered with a long horizontal fissure. I went to the nearest dealership and was told he has seen this happen before. I asked if it was safe to drive 4.5hrs back to my home city, Las Vegas. He said yes. When I got back I called my MB service representative, described what happened and he said there is a recall coming up 5/21/2021 for that problem. I looked it up online and it is for 2015 C-Class forward. However, my 2014 MB AMG C63 coupe is the exact same model as the 2015 MB AMG C63 coupe. So I’m questioning why my vehicle is not included?
MY VEHICLE LOSSES POWER AND CAR MOVED INTO (LIMP MODE) DURING THE ACCELERATION PROCESS FOR PASSING, MERGING ONTO FREEWAY, COMING OUT OF A CORNER AND ACCELERATING. UPON DEALER DIAGNOSIS P0002 COMES UP AS HPFP AS THE CAUSE, AND I WAS NOTIFIED AS THIS BEING A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE 1.8L MOTOR IN MY VEHICLE. ALONG WITH TIMING CHAIN, AND TENSIONER. I WAS TOLD THESE ISSUES WHILE DRIVING ARE DIRECTLY RELATED TO CAUSES ACCIDENTS.
WHILE DRIVING ON 95 HIGHWAY TAKING AN EXIT ( MAKING A RIGHT TURN ROUNDABOUT) THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ON ME PREVENTING ME FROM CONTINUING IN THE DIRECTION OF THE EXIT CAUSING ME TO ALMOST CRASH INTO THE METAL RAILINGS; BECAUSE MY WHEELS NOW WHERE LOCKED IN A POSITION THAT WOULD FORCE ME TO CRASH INTO THE RAILINGS HAD I NOT STOPPED. I STOPPED AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART FOR THE STEERING WHEEL AND SYSTEM TO RESET AND UNLOCK. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AROUND 2018 OR 2019. I NOTIFIED MERCEDES OF WHAT HAPPENED AND I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A RECALL ON THE STEERING. I HAD THE RECALL CHECKED ON MY VEHICLE AND THOUGHT IT WAS FIXED. HOWEVER, TWICE IN NOVEMBER 2020 MY CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR, THE STEERING WAS LOCKED AND THE IGNITION WOULD NOT START. THEN AFTER MAKING SEVERAL ATTEMPTS CAR EVENTUALLY STARTED. I CALLED MERCEDES AND I WAS TOLD OVER THE PHONE BY MERCEDES IT COULD BE MY KEY FAUB. HOWEVER, THIS HAPPENED A 4TH TIME ON DEC 24, 2020, NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS TO START CAR AND CAR WOULD NOT START, STEERING WAS LOCKED. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. WAS TOLD BY MERCEDES THERES A FAULT IN THE STEERING LOCK MODULAR. THE ELECTRICAL WIRING IS FAULTY AND THE ENTIRE STEERING MODULAR HAS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, AND CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS WHEN IT MALFUNCTIONS WHILE DRIVING. I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL THAT WAS ON THE STEERING AND WAS TOLD THE RECALL ADDRESSED A DIFFERENT ISSUE WITH THE STEERING.

THE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM FAILED AFTER 59,000 MILES, LOCKE THE STEERING WHEEL AND WON'T ALLOW THE CAR TO START. MERCEDES CHARGES 1,800 DOLLARS TO REPLACE IT.. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED VERY DANGEROUS.

THE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE BROKE WHILE SIMPLY TRYING TO OPEN THE DOOR TO EGRESS THE VEHICLE, I TOOK IT TI THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR HANDLE USED TO EGRESS THE VEHICLE WAS CALLED "TRIM" AND NOT CONSIDERED A SAFETY CONCERN. ALSO, I DISCOVERED THAT THE DOOR HANDLE WAS MADE OF PLASTIC. I WROTE TO THE MANAGER OF THE DEALERSHIP AND THE CEO BRINGING IT TO THERE ATTENTION AND WAS TOLD BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP FOR MERCEDES BENZ AMERICA "YOUR CONCERNS WERE DULY NOTED". I WAS CHARGED $1,217.28 TO HAVE THE BROKEN "TRIM" REPLACED WITH MORE CHEAP PLASTIC PARTS......ONE SHOULD HAVE A REASONABLE EXPECTATION OF SAFELY EGRESSING THE VEHICLE USING THE [XXX] DOOR HANDLE !! THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE'S AIRBAG WAS ANNOUNCED OVER A YEAR AGO, AND THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. SINCE THE ISSUE COULD LEAD TO FATAL INJURY, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT THIS IS BEING HANDLED IN A TIMELY MANNER, ESPECIALLY SINCE A REMEDY IS STILL NOT AVAILABLE.

THERE IS A GLASS ROOF PANEL BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE SUNROOF. THIS GLASS PANEL IS EXTREMELY BRITTLE AND SHATTERS EASILY. THIS IS MY SECOND TIME HAVING TO REPLACE THIS GLASS PANEL. IT IS A DEALER ONLY PART AND COSTS $960 PLUS $300 FOR INSTALLATION. THE COST OF THIS GLASS PANEL IS EXTREMELY HIGH. BOTH TIMES THIS GLASS PANEL SHATTERED, NOTHING HIT IT. IT APPEARS AS SMALL CRACKS AT FIRST AND THEN SPREADS. BECAUSE IT IS SO BRITTLE, IT EVENTUALLY SHATTERS. TAKETA RECALL. I RECEIVED A LETTER ON MARCH, 2019 FROM MERCEDES BENZ, USA TO NOTIFY ME OF THIS RECALL. ON 4/24/19, I CALLED THE CORAL GABLES MERCEDES DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE NOT IN AND THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A LETTER WHEN THE PARTS ARRIVE. AT HTTPS://WWW.MBUSA.COM/MERCEDES/RECALL, THE STATUS INDICATES THAT THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT IN. SINCE THIS IS A DEFECT THAT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH, HOW CAN IT TAKE MONTHS FOR THE PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE AND FOR MY VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED?
THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON. DASH BOARD DISPLAYS LEFT AIRBAG MALFUNCTION, HORN NO LONGER WORKS, DISPLAY CAN NOT BE CLEARED. STEERING MAKE LOTS OF OF CLICKING SOUND WHEN TURNED ON EITHER DIRECTION. TOOK THE CAR TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE INITIAL RESPONSE WAS THAT THE STEERING MODULE FAILED AND MY ASSESSMENT WAS IT IS PROBABLY DUE TO RECALL NO GROUND WIRE RECALL NUMBER 17V627000.. UPON FURTHER INQUIRY THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THE STEERING MODULE BROKE AND CAME APART. I SUSPECT THIS EITHER DUE TO DEFECTIVE STEERING MODULE OR RECALL # 17V252000 STEERING BOLT. I HAD COMMUNICATED THIS ISSUE TO MBUSA VIA EMAILS AND SEVERAL PHONE CALLS. THEY STILL HAVEN'T AGREED TO COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR. AFTER SEVERAL CALLS TO THE DEALER, THEY FINALLY SHARED THE PICTURE OF THE STEERING MODULE AS YOU CAN SEE IT ATTACHED. OTHER OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME PROBLEM. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS SOUGHT SEVERAL DAYS AFTER THE COLLISION BY THE CONTACT AND HIS SPOUSE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING LOT. AAA WAS ABLE TO RETRIEVE DATA FROM THE VEHICLE DATA RECORDER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A COMPREHENSIVE REPORT COULD BE ATTAINED BY EQUIPMENT THAT ONLY THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER POSSESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WAS NO DIAGNOSTIC CHECK OR INSPECTION PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. IN JUNE OF 2018 WE HAD TO HAVE CAM SHAFT WORK DONE ON OUR CAR WHICH WAS SLIGHTLY OVER THE MANUFACTURE WARRANTY. THIS TOOK TWO TRIPS TO THE SHOP AND ABOUT $10,000 IN REPAIRS BECAUSE THE ONE SIDE FAILED THEN WITHIN A FEW WEEKS THE OTHER SIDE FAILED. I HAVE READ ON THE WEB MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND IT BEGINS RIGHT AFTER THE WARRANTY GOES OUT. NOW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE TIMING CHAIN WHICH I READ SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED WHEN THE CAM SHAFT WORK WAS DONE. ALL THESE ISSUES WITH THE SAME MODEL AND THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL. MERCEDES TOLD US IT IS A PROBLEM WITH THE C250 AND IT WILL PROBABLY HAVE TO BE DONE AGAIN AFTER ANOTHER 50,000 MILES. I DON'T UNDERSTAND IF THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE WHY THEY HAVE NOT CORRECTED IT. IT COSTS ABOUT $5000 EACH TIME!
CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON THE COURTNEY CAMPBELL CAUSEWAY HIGHWAY, ON A STRAIGHTAWAY, THAT CONNECTS CLEARWATER TO TAMPA, FLORIDA. SUDDENLY THE (CLOSED) SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED, CAUSING A VERY LOUD NOISE AND SHATTERED GLASS TO FALL DOWN INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. MY WIFE, WHO WAS DRIVING MANAGED TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE CAR AND PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. GIVEN THE CAR'S SPEED AND SURROUNDING TRAFFIC (MORNING RUSH HOUR) IT IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT THE SUNROOF EXPLOSION DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THE POLICE WERE CALLED AND ARRIVED ON SCENE. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED, AS THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT AND NO INJURY. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO MERCEDES BENZ OF TAMPA BAY. THEY TOOK PICTURES AND GAVE US A LOANER CAR AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD MAKE A DETERMINATION AS TO WHO WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON 5/1/2019 AT ROUGHLY 7:45 AM. IT WAS NOT UNTIL FRIDAY, 5/3/2019 THAT WE HEARD FROM THE SERVICE CONSULTANT, INDICATING THAT THE CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THEREFORE THE REPAIR WAS OUR RESPONSIBILITY. IT TOOK THE DEALERSHIP OVER 2.5 DAYS TO MAKE THAT DETERMINATION ... SEEMS LIKE THAT DETERMINATION COULD HAVE BEEN MADE IN ABOUT 5 MINUTES. COULD IT BE THAT MERCEDES BENZ USA WAS INVOLVED IN EVALUATING THE RESULTING LIABILITY IF THEY WERE TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY? GIVEN THAT THERE WAS NO IDENTIFIABLE CAUSE FOR THE EXPLODING SUNROOF, IT IS EVIDENT TO ME THAT IT'S A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT COULD EASILY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH, AND YET MERCEDES BENZ ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY. A COST TO REPAIR/REPLACE THE SUNROOF GLASS WAS PROVIDED VERBALLY (OVER $1,700.00). THIS SPONTANEOUS EXPLOSION OF A SUNROOF IS APPARENTLY SOMETHING THAT HAS OCCURRED IN THE PAST WITH MERCEDES BENZ, AS WELL AS OTHER CAR MANUFACTURERS. THIS COULD HAVE A CATASTROPHIC OUTCOME ... ANY TIME IT HAPPENS.

TAKATA RECALL. OUR COMPLAINT IS REGARDING THE UNREASONABLE DELAY IN PROVIDING US WITH A GOOD REPLACEMENT PART. BECAUSE OF THE RECALL WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO USE THE CAR OR RISK SERIOUS BODILY INJURY OR DEATH IF THE AIRBAG SHOULD DEPLOY AND EXPLODE. IN THE MEANTIME WE HAVE TO FIND ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION, CONTINUE MAKING PAYMENTS ON THE CAR, AND ARE UNABLE TO SELL IT. MY STEERING WHEEL STARTED TO CLICK WHEN I TURNED IT, DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT. I WAS RECENTLY PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AND MY STEERING WHEEL MADE A LOUD POP AND GOT STUCK, THEN A LOUD CRACK AGAIN AND STARTED TO WORK. I WAS STOPPED IN FRONT OF MY GARAGE (WAITING FOR THE DOOR TO GO UP). SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES COULD NOT STOP THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS ACCELERATING TOO QUICKLY. HITTING THE BRICK FACADE OF THE CONDOMINIUM, BEYOND THE DETACHED GARAGE WAS THE ONLY THING THAT STOPPED THE CAR. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, WHICH I THOUGHT THEY SHOULD HAVE BECAUSE OF THE IMPACT. EVEN THOUGH I ONLY TRAVELED APPROXIMATELY 30 FEET, THE CAR ACCELERATED SO QUICKLY, IT TOTALED THE CAR. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL AS OF NOVEMBER 2017, FOR A STEERING COLUMN ISSUE, WHICH INCLUDES IMPROPERLY GROUNDED COMPONENTS AND THE STEERING COLUMN CLOCK SPRING BEING BROKEN ISSUE RELATED TO THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYING WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. I HAVE TIRED SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE THE CAR REPAIRED AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE PART. WHILE IN MOTION (DRIVING) ANOTHER DRIVER TURNED IN FRONT OF ME, CAUSING ME TO T-BONE HER (POLICE REPORT WITH DESCRIPTION ATTACHED). I SLAMMED ON BRAKES TO TO LESSEN THE UNAVOIDABLE IMPACT. THE DROP DOWN BELOW WOULD ONLY LET ME ENTER OCTOBER 24 OR BEFORE.
I WAS DRIVING ON GLADES ROAD, BOCA RATON, FL. I HEARD A LOUD NOISE, SAW SMOKE AND LOST MY POWER STEERING. I MANAGED TO PULL INTO TOWN CENTER MALL, GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SAW THAT THE CAR WAS ON FIRE. THE BOCA RATON POLICE CAME, #5 FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME. THE FIRE WAS PUT OUT AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MERCEDES OF DELRAY.
STATIONARY VEHICLE'S DOOR LATCH STOPPED WORKING WHILE TRYING TO EXIT THE CAR. THE LATCH IS LOOSELY MOVING AROUND WITH NO CONNECTION TO THE DOOR LOCK WHATSOEVER.
I HAD BEEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, GOT OFF ONTO A SIDE ROAD AND WHEN APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT WHILE BRAKING: MY CAR COMPLETELY DIED (WHILE IN DRIVE). THE MOTOR SHUT OFF, THE ELECTRICAL DASH SYSTEM LIGHTS ALL WENT OFF AND THE HAZARD TRIANGLE SYSTEM CAME ON (WITH THE SYMBOL OF AN EXCLAMATION MARK(!) INSIDE THE TRIANGLE). AFTER ABOUT A MINUTE AND A HALF, I PUT IT IN PARK, AND IT RESTARTED. SCARY! I HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS.
WHEN THE OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE IS COVERED WITH SNOW OR ICE IT WILL NOT ALLOW OUTSIDE AIR INTO THE HVAC SYSTEM. THIS CAUSES THE FRONT WINDOW DEFROSTER TO NOT BE ABLE TO BLOW AIR ON THE WINDSHIELD TO CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DESIGN FLAW ON BEHALF OF MERCEDES BENZ. IF HOT WATER IS POURED OVER THE OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE SCREEN THE BLOWER WILL OPERATE PROPERLY, BLOWING HOT AIR TO DEFROST THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. ONLY HAPPENS IF THE CAR IS OUTSIDE WITH SNOW OR ICE BUILDUP TO BLOCK AIRFLOW INTO THE HVAC SYSTEM. DEFROSTER WILL WORK PROPERLY IF NO SNOW OR ICE IS COVERING THE AREA.
THOUGH I APPEAR TO HAVE MANAGED ONLY MINIMAL INJURY IN THE RANDOM MALFUNCTIONING DEPLOYMENT OF MY STEERING WHEEL AIRBAG WITHOUT BEING INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT OR COLLISION, I WAS EXTREMELY LUCKY MY CAR'S AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY WHILE I WAS DRIVING 50, 60 OR 70 MPH. I WAS ACTUALLY PARKED WHEN THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. KEYS WERE IN THE IGNITION AS WELL. EVEN IF THE CAR IS REPAIRED, IT COULD HAPPEN AGAIN AND EVEN LEAD TO FATALITIES OF MYSELF, MY FAMILY AND OTHER ADJACENT VEHICLES' PASSENGERS ON THE ROAD. MY WIFE PERSONALLY DOESN'T WANT TO RIDE IN THAT CAR KNOWING THIS COULD HAPPEN AGAIN. I DID A LITTLE INVESTIGATING AND I FOUND THAT MERCEDES-BENZ HAS A RECENT HISTORY OF THESE ISSUES. IT SEEM AS THOUGHT THE SMOKEY SMELL IS COMING FROM THE INSIDE BUT AFTER OPENING THE DRIVERSIDE DOOR THE BURNING SMELL IS COMING FROM UNDER THE CAR. ON YESTERDAY, MONDAY, FOUR DAYS SINCE I FIRST SMELL OF SMOKE, WHICH IS CONSISTENT NOW AND LOOKED AT BY A MECHANIC WHO SAID RUNNING OVER A PLASTIC BAG IS THE POSSIBLE PROBLEM. SOUNDED LOGICAL UNTIL A FEW HOURS LATER AFTER A 25 MILE HIGHWAY RUN AT 70+MPH THE CAR WAS SHAKING AND STUGGLING TO STAY ON. THE SMOKEY SMELL WAS ELEVATED AND THE POWERTRAIN LIGHT WAS ON. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A DRIVEWAY AND THE TRUNK WAS OPENED WHEN THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE WINDOW WAS NOT STRUCK. THIS OCCURRED AFTER A 200 MILE HIGHWAY TRIP WITH NO ISSUES. OBVIOUSLY, IF THIS HAD HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY IT COULD HAVE BEEN A DIFFICULT SITUATION.
RANDOM ENGINE STALL INVOLVING TURBO AND INTERCOOLER: WE PURCHASED THIS 2014 C250 WITH ROUGHLY 8,000 MILES FROM NEARBY MB DEALER. WE HAVE ENJOYED THE CAR IMMENSELY, EXCEPTION THIS VERY SERIOUS "DEFECT" WITH THE ENGINE. OBSERVED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THIS PROBLEM IS VERY SERIOUS AND COULD LEAD TO POTENTIAL COLLISION WHILE PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE, BECAUSE THE ENGINE "STALLS" UNDER INTENSE ACCELERATION RANDOMLY, LEAVING ONLY ONE CYLINDER WORKING. WITH THIS ONE REMAINING CYLINDER, THE CAR CAN BARELY BE OPERATED, SHAKING ETC., BUT CAN BE MANEUVERED OFF THE ROAD IF POSSIBLE IN TRAFFIC, SHUT OFF, AND RE-STARTED WITHOUT ANY AFTER-AFFECTS. WE TOOK TO THE DEALER TWICE, AND BOTH TIMES THE MB DEALER ADMITS THERE IS A VERY REAL PROBLEM WITH, ALLEGEDLY, THE "INTERCOOLER," AND THAT "ALL C250 ENGINES HAVE THIS SAME POTENTIAL PROBLEM," AND FURTHERMORE, MERCEDES DOES NOT CURRENTLY HAVE A SOLUTION OR FIX, BUT IS WORKING ON IT. NOTE: IT'S BEEN SIX MONTHS SINCE I REPORTED MY INITIAL PROBLEM AND HAD IT RECORDED (FILED AT THE DEALER). THE CAR COMPUTER DOES INDICATE THE PROBLEM EXISTS, AND RECORDS EACH INCIDENT. PROBLEM: MB DOES NOT HAVE A SOLUTION CURRENTLY. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO HAVE THE CAR UNDER FULL ACCELERATION IN SPORT MODE, AND THEN THE CAR SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING SHUTS DOWN ("COMPUTER GENERATED STALL"). I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE GOING VERY FAST MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE TRAFFIC, THEN ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD BEFORE I WAS REAR-ENDED. THIS SAME SCENARIO HAS OCCURRED ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS WITHOUT ANY ACCIDENT, AND WHILE MOTOR WAS NOT EVEN HEAVILY STRESSED AS THE INITIAL INCIDENT.

I LEASED MY VEHICLE IN NOVEMBER OF 2013. THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN TO AND FROM WORK AND IN THE BEGINNING I NEVER HAD A PROBLEM. A FEW MONTHS AGO I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE VEHILE WOULD VIOLENTLY SHAKE WHE TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I MANGED TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE FOR ABOUT ANOTHER 30 MINUTES AND MADE IT TO THE DEALER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF BUT ONCE THEY RESTARTED IT THE CAR RAN FINE. SINCE THEN THEN CAR WILL RANDOMLY LOOSE POWER ALL OF A SUDDEN IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 3 OR 4 TIMES AND THEY KEEP IT FOR A WEEK AND THEN GIVE IT BACK AND SAY THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RECREATE THE ISSUE. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT ONCE SO FAR AND WHEN I LET MY BROTHER USE THE CAR HE WAS ALMOST HIT WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN BECAUSE OF THE RANDOM POWER LOSS. I HAVE CONTACTED MBUSA AND SPOKE WITH SOMEONE NAMED JUAN. I CONTINUED TO CALL HIM ANS TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER EVERYTIME IT HAPPENED EXPRESSING MY CONCERNS ABIUT THE CAR AS WELL AS SAFETY. JUAN INTIALLLY ACTED AS IF HE CARED BUT THAT WAS SHOR LIVED AS HE FINALLY CALLED BACK ON 10/2/15 AND EXPLAINED THAT HIS MANAGERS AND MBUSA WERE UNABLE TO CREATE THE ISSUE AT THE DEALER LEVEL SO THERE IS NOTHING THEY WILL DO AT THIS POINT... AT THAT POINT I REALIZED THAT THERE IS NOTHING THAT MBUSA WILL DO FOR ME AND THAT I WILL CONTINUE TO FORCED TO DRIVE AND PAY FOR A VERY UNSAFE VEHICLE.
I BOUGHT A 2014 C250 MERCEDES WITH CONTINENTAL TIRES DOT: HW4TNXH61413 IN NOVEMBER OF 2013. TWO OF THE FOUR TIRES CONTINUE TO LOSE TIRE PRESSURE AND HAVE DEVELOPED SIDE WALL BUBBLES. THE CAR IS DRIVEN DAILY AND HAS 20,000 MILES ON IT.

I WAS DRIVING ON I-10 EASTBOUND AT APPROXIMATELY MILE MARKER 180 TO 182, WHEN I MADE A LANE CHANGE TO LET A FASTER MOVING VEHICLE PASS ME. I WENT FROM THE LEFT TO RIGHT LANE WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 70 OR 75 MPH, (SPEED LIMIT ON I-10 IS 75 MPH). UPON ENTERING THE RIGHT LANE I SAW A TRACTOR TRAILER BRAKE LIGHTS, AND I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKE IN MY C 250, AND IT CAUSED THE CAR WHEELS TO LOCKED UP, WHICH ALSO CAUSED THE CAR TO SKID, AND SWERVE THE BACK END. THE C 250 DID SLOW DOWN SOME, BUT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AFTER THE C 250 IMPACTED THE REAR BUMPER OF THE TRAILER ATTACHED ON THE TRACTOR TRAILER TRUCK. THE C 250 SLIDE APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET, THERE WERE TIRE TRACKS ON THE PAVEMENT, WHICH SHOWS THE TIRES LOCKED UP. THE REAR ENDED OF THE CAR ALSO SWERVED, AND IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE THE C 250 WAS SLOWING DOWN, ONCE THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THERE WAS ALSO SOME SKIPPING OF THE TIRES. THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED BUT WAS LATE, AND CAUSED ME TO IMPACT THE WINDSHIELD WITH MY HEAD. THERE IS ALSO A HOLE IN THE AIRBAG THAT IS BIGGER THEN A SILVER DOLLAR, WHICH SHOWS SIGN OF TEARING AND FRAYING. THE SEAT-BELT DETACHED AT IMPACT WHICH FORCED ME FORWARD AND DIDN'T RESTRAIN ME FROM ME HITTING THE STEERING WHEEL AND WINDSHIELD. *TR
DRIVING ON A FOUR-LANE STREET (TWO LANES ON EACH SIDE) WITH MY TWO KIDS. THE 2014 C250 HAD A MALFUNCTION WITH THE ELECTRIC STEERING: AUTOMATICALLY JERKING THE CAR TO THE RIGHT. I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND HIT THE CURB. IT FELT LIKE WE WENT AIRBORNE. I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT TO TRY TO STABILIZE THE CAR, QUICKLY REALIZING THERE WAS TRUCK TO THE LEFT I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL BACK TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING THE TRUCK. THIS CAUSED ME TO HIT THE CURB AGAIN. IT ALL HAPPENED SO FAST IT WAS HARD TO STABILIZE THE CAR. MERCEDES-BENZ (EXPRESSED AS MBUSA) HAD MY CAR FOR OVER A MONTH. IN THEIR INCIDENT QUESTIONNAIRE THEY ASKED TO GRANT PERMISSION TO IMAGE THE DATA CONTAINED IN THE VEHICLE'S EVENT DATA RECORDER (EDR). I SENT THE QUESTIONNAIRE TO MY INSURANCE, AND WE DIDN'T NOT GRANT MBUSA PERMISSION AS THE LESSEE. MBUSA BROKE THE LAW AND WENT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND IMAGED THE DATA. THAN CAME BACK AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE DAMAGE, AS THE EDR STATED THAT I HIT THE CURB. MBUSA EXPRESSED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THEIR MALFUNCTION. I ASKED FOR A COPY OF THE RECORDED CONVERSATION AND I WANT THE REPORT. IT WAS EXPRESSED BY MBUSA THAT I WOULD HAVE TO GET A COURT SUBPOENA FOR THEM TO GIVE ME THE INFORMATION. I CALLED A ATTORNEY AND THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW; AND IS ALL TACTICS/STRATEGIES ON MBUSA PART TO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE THEY WOULD BY LAW HAVE TO REPORT IT TO NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA). ALL I WANTED WAS TO KEEP MY FAMILY SAFE, AND FOR MBUSA TO TAKE THE CAR BACK AS IT WAS AROUND 3 MONTHS OLD WHEN THE ACCIDENT ACCUSED. THE CAR WAS GARAGED FOR APPROX 2 WEEKS AND NOT DRIVEN, THEN FOR 2 DAYS DRIVEN LOCALLY TO DO ERRANDS, THEN DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY AN HOUR TO MY DESTINATION AND AN HOUR BACK WHEN IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD AT 25 MILES PER HOUR THE CAR WAS OUT OF CONTROL AND THE REPLACED TIRE BLEW. ONCE I DROVE 30 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT ON AND ALARM DINGING SO THEY COULD WITNESS IT. THE MANAGER AND TECHNICIAN MET ME IN THE GARAGE AND HAD ME PULL THE LEVER; THE PEDAL ACTUALLY MOVED BY ABOUT AN INCH. THE MANAGER AND TECH PRACTICALLY ACCUSED ME OF PARTIALLY APPLYING THE BRAKE (WHICH I TOLD THEM I HAVE NEVER PULLED SINCE OWNING THE CAR). I TOLD THEM THIS MAKES THE SITUATION EVEN MORE SERIOUS BECAUSE THE BRAKE MAY ACTUALLY AUTO-APPLY WHILE DRIVING. STILL, NO CONCERN ABOUT SAFETY, OR RESOLVING THE PROBLEM.
