TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, SLOW DOWN MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED OR REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS HIT YESTERDAY WHEN SOMEONE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS GOING MAYBE 40 MPH DOWN A STRAIGHT CITY STREET BUT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF WHEN I WAS HIT
BELT TENSIONER IS BAD AND WHEN ACCELERATING MAKES NOISE ESPECIALLY WHEN THE VEHICLE IS COLD IN THE MORNING
THE AYC PUMP(AWD PUMP) KEEPS SAYING IT'S GOING OUT AND THIS HAPPENS TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE. A LOT OF OTHER OWNERS HAVE THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE. THE PUMP NEEDS TO BE RELOCATED AND REPLACED AT MITSUBISHI'S COST. IT'S NOT FAIR TO THE BUYERS THAT WE WERE PAYING FOR A CAR THAT WE HAD TO BUY 1 $1700+ PART AND LABOR. IT SHOULD BE A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE IF THE PUMP GOES WHILE DRIVING IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD. IN WINTER OF 2018 WAS MY FIRST YEAR IN SNOW WITH IT. ABOUT FEBRUARY WHENEVER THE WEATHER WOULD GET ABOVE 40 DEGREES, THE TARMAC LIGHT WOULD START TO FLASH SIGNALING THE PUMP IS FAILING.
AYC PUMP FAILURE
ON 09/15/2018 AT ROUGHLY 11:30 AM WHILE OPERATING MY 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION X WITH 32,XXX MILES I EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER, INCREASED EXHAUST NOISE AND THE ILLUMINATION OF POWERTRAIN FAULT LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. AFTER PULLING OFF THE ROADWAY TO INSPECT THE ISSUE A SMALL ENGINE BAY FIRE HAD BEEN FOUND (CHARD PAINT/INSULATION AND A STILL SMOLDERING WIRING HARNESS). AFTER ENSURING THAT THE FIRE WAS OUT AND SAFE THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT IT HAD BEEN PURCHASED FROM (MANGINO MITSUBISHI OF CLIFTON PARK) AND DROPPED OFF. THE CAR IS USELESS IN ITS CURRENT STATE AND HAD TO BE TOW FROM THE DEALERSHIP TO A STORAGE FACILITY WHERE IT HAS BEEN EVER SINCE. BUT I REFUSE TO REPORT THE DAMAGES TO MY INSURANCE BECAUSE I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO COVER DAMAGES CAUSED BY BOLTS THAT WERE INSTALLED IMPROPERLY AT THE FACTORY. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE TECHNICIANS AND SERVICE ADVISERS AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY'VE INFORMED ME THAT A FAILURE LIKE THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN IF THE BOLTS ARE PROPERLY INSTALLED AND THAT THEY DON'T SEE WHY IT WOULDN'T BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT MITSUBISHI IS TRYING TO AVOID BLEMISHING THERE REPUTATION AND IS REFUSING TO ADMIT TO A FAULT THAT CAUSED A FIRE IN A VEHICLE. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS AN APPROPRIATE WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS. IT IS UNSAFE AND UNETHICAL AND AM ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE TO RECEIVE THE BENEFITS OF THE WARRANTY THAT I PAID FOR.
WARNING INDICATOR IN MANUAL AND DISPLAY HAS A SEATBELT AND AIRBAG PICTURE.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V569000 (AIR BAGS). THE PART NEEDED FOR THE REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED A UNKNOWN LOCAL MITSUBISHI DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ACD PUMP HEAVILY CORRODED FROM NORMAL USE. THE LOCATION AND MATERIAL ARE GUARANTEED TO CAUSE CORROSION. THERE ARE EVEN AFTERMARKET RELOCATION KITS AVAILABLE. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RECOGNIZED.
I BOUGHT MY 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER IN NOV. 2014 AT LONG LEWIS FORD IN FLORENCE, AL, WHERE I RECEIVED ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE PERFORMANCES FOR IT. ON SEPT. 15, 2017, I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD IN MY 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER AND EXPERIENCED COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE (WHILE IN MOTION), CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. ONCE THE SYSTEM FAILED, I COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE AND COULD ONLY "COAST" TO TRY AND FIND A SAFE SPOT TO BRAKE. WHEN I OPENED THE HOOD, THE MAIN RELAY HAD CAUGHT FIRE, WAS BLACK, BURNT UP, AND MELTED ON THE INSIDE. I COULDN'T GET MY CAR TO GO IN NEUTRAL OR ANY SYSTEMS TO WORK TO GET IT COMPLETELY OFF THE ROAD, CREATING ANOTHER SAFETY HAZARD, AND HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. A SALES TECH MET ME WITH A NEW RELAY THAT I PURCHASED. THE NEW RELAY DID NOT GET MY CAR MOVING AGAIN BECAUSE WHEN THE RELAY (THAT WAS IN MY CAR WHEN I BOUGHT IT) CAUGHT FIRE, IT CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE COMPUTER/ECM. WHEN GIVING THE PART NUMBERS FROM MY RELAY AND ECM/COMPUTER FOR REPLACEMENTS, THE PARTS SPECIALISTS AND I REALIZED THAT THE PART NUMBERS FOR THE COMPUTER/ECM MATCHED ONLY A 2015 COMPUTER/ECM, AND THERE WAS NOT A MATCHING PART NUMBER FOR THE RELAY AS THAT EXACT ONE WAS UNOBTAINABLE, AND A DIFFERENT ONE THAT WAS COMPATIBLE HAD TO BE PURCHASED. I HAVE RECENTLY LEARNED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE 2015-2017 MITSUBISHI LANCER RELAYS BECAUSE THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE RELAY WHICH CAUSES COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. I WOULD APPRECIATE AN INVESTIGATION BEING PERFORMED TO SEE IF THE 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCERS SHOULD BE INCLUDED UNDER THIS RECALL AS I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME RELAY ISSUE, SAFETY HAZARD AND CONCERNS, AND ALSO DUE TO THE FACT THAT MY 2014 LANCER HAS A 2015 SYSTEM IN IT. I NEED TO MAKE CERTAIN WHETHER THE RELAY THAT WAS PUT IN MY 2014 LANCER WHEN BUILT, AND WHEN REPLACED, WAS/IS NOT DEFECTIVE. PLEASE ADVISE IF I NEED TO DIRECT THIS SAFETY CONCERN TO ANOTHER APPROPRIATE ADMINISTRATOR.
VEHICLE HAS CVT TRANSMISSION AND WHEN THE CAR AND ENGINE ARE COLD THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT MOVE THE CAR. CAR REVS TO 1500-2000 RPM AMD WILL EVENTUALLY BEGIN TO CREEP FORWARD. CAR ONLY HAD 75,000 MILES BUT AS WE ARE THE 2ND OWNER MITSUBISHI WILL NOT WARRANTY ALTHOUGH THE ORIGINAL OWNER WARRANTY IS 100,000 MILES AND THERE IS ALREADY A TECALL ON THIS SAME TRANSMISSION IN THE OUTLANDER.
THE CAR AXLES FROM THE FRONT WHEELS FELL OFF THAT THE BRAKES STOPPED WORKING AND I COULDN'T STOP THE CAR. FOR 2014 CAR AND 184295 MILES IT WAS VERY STRANGE. IT HAPPEN IN THE STREET L JUST WAS COMING OUT OF THE HIGHWAY. POLICE REPORT (17-34721) INSURANCE CLAIM (171234952) RECALL (1-263434426)
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, AN ABNORMAL CLICKING SOUND EMITTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING INSIDE THE VEHICLE ONTO THE FLOOR BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V446000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS DRIVING ON FREEWAY IN THE CENTER LANE SWITCHED TO LEFT LANE AND CAR IMMEDIATELY AND VIOLENTLY JERKED LEFT AND I HAD TO USE STRUGGLE TO KEEP THE CAR FROM VEERING OFF THE ROAD. I HAVE GONE THROUGH 4 SETS OF TIRES CAR HAS BEEN ALIGNED 5 TIMES AND IT WILL NOT STEER STRAIGHT AND REQUIRES IMMENSE EFFORT JUST TO KEEP IT ON THE ROAD WHENEVER THE CROWN OF THE ROAD IS ON THE LEFT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL DATING BACK TO 2008 AND IT A SAFETY AND DEFECT HAZARD. UNTIL SOMEONE GETS KILLED OR MAIMED THE MANUFACTURER WITH JUST DENY ANYTHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL VEHICLE. THANK YOU *TR
AFTER ABOUT 35,000 MILES A WARNING LIGHT CAME UP SAYING ASC SERVICE REQUIRED. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION IT TURNED OUT TO BE THAT THE AWD PUMP WAS OUT. THE LIGHT COMES ON MEANWHILE I DRIVE AROUND.
I WAS INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAG EXPLODED. MY CONCERN IS I WAS 47 AND PRETTY GOOD SHAPE YET I HAD PAIN IN MY CHEST FOR OVER12 MO. I CONCERNED PEOPLE IN LESS SHAPE THAN ME WILL NEVER SURVICE THE IMKPACT OF THAT AIRBAG BECAUSE I FELT LIKE I BARELY SURVIVED. MAYBE THIS IS THE WAY IT WORKS I NEVER HAD ONE HIT ME BEFORE BUT TO THIS DAY I STILL FEEL A LITTLE PAIN.
MY CAR WAS RECENTLY WRECKED GOING AROUND THE CORNER IN THE SNOW IS IT SLID OFF THE ROAD INTO A TELEPHONE POLE AND THE FIRE HYDRANT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT GO OFF WHEN WE IMPACT WE WERE DOING ABOUT 40 MILES PER HOUR. THE CAR ALSO DID NOT TURN ITSELF OFF LIKE IT SHOULD HAVE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, SMOKE STARTED TO EMIT FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WITHOUT ANY WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION, DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DIRECTLY RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V281000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2014, I PURCHASED A 2014 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION GSR. ON OCTOBER 17, 2014, WITH A LITTLE OVER 2700 MILES THE SERVICE/MAINTENANCE LIGHT COMES ON AND I DROVE THE CAR TO MITSUBISHI TO HAVE THEM CHECK THE CAR OUT. ON OCTOBER 21, 2014, I RETURNED TO DEALER AND THE CAR WAS IMMEDIATELY WAS DRIVEN INSIDE AND PLACED ON A LIFT TO BE INSPECTED. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT IT WOULD BE A LONGER WAIT THEN EXPECTED DUE TO MITSUBISHI'S HEAD OFFICE BEING LOCATED IN CALIFORNIA, AND TIME ZONE DIFFERENCE. I WAS NOT GIVEN A LOANER CAR, STANDARD PRACTICE ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH FULL WARRANTY AND HE ( SVR. MANAGER) DID NOT GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION WHILE I WAITED. THE NEXT DAY, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM VIN FROM MITSUBISHI SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHO TOLD ME MITSUBISHI, WANTS TO GET AUTHORIZATION FROM ME TO BREAK DOWN THE CARS ENGINE/TRANSMISSION IN ORDER TO MOVE FORWARD AND IT WOULD COST ME $1100, IF THEY SAW THAT IT WASN'T A DEFECT ON MITSUBISHI'S PART. I GAVE THE AUTHORIZATION AND WAS CALLED AGAIN BY VIN, WHO ADVISED ME THAT THE CAR HAD A DEFECTIVE SEAL AND THE CAR IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. ON OCTOBER 22, 2014, AT ABOUT APPROX. 4:25PM I RECEIVED A CALL FROM MITSUBISHI SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO GIVE ME A NEW UPDATE ON THE DEFECTIVE PARTS AND REPAIRS. VIN TOLD ME THAT THE CLUTCH & FLY WHEEL HAD BURNED OUT AND THAT MITSUBISHI WAS NO LONGER GOING TO COVER REPAIRS, WHICH HAD NOW REACHED $3,200. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE CAR FROM MITSUBSHI; WE BOUGHT IT WITH 11 MILES ON IT AND IT IS INCONCEIVABLE THAT A BRAND NEW CAR CAN HAVE SUCH DEFECTIVE PROBLEMS. MITSUBISHI IS NOT UPHOLDING THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES AND WE FEEL WE HAVE BEEN SOLD A LEMON. HOW CAN A VEHICLE GO IN FOR AN OIL LEAK AND SUDDENLY HAVE ALL THESE MAJOR ISSUES? OCTOBER 27TH I WAS TOLD BY THE DISTRICT MANAGER OF MITSUBISHI THAT THE CAR WAS NOT GOING TO BE COVERED AND MITSUBISHI TOLD ME TO "DO AS YOU PLEASE." *TR
