TRANSMISSION CVT HAVE PROBLEMS. CAR HAD A CHANGE TRANSMISSION OIL IN DEC 2020, AND YESTERDAY CAR STOP TO GEAR AND INCREASE SPEED. AFTER USED OBII SCAN, IT POP UP 5 DIFFERENTS CODE INCLUDING SOLENOIDE PROBLEM AND SPEED SENSORS. I HAVE TO CHANGE TRANSMISSION OIL AGAIN BECAUSE IT WAS DIRTY (LIGHT BLACK) IN JUST 3 WEEK BURNED THE NEW OIL. CAR START TO INCREASE SPEED AND GET GEAR BETTER BUT NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO FULL SPEED. ALL FIVE CODES DESAPEAR AS WELL AS "ENGINE SERVICE SOON" CAR HAVE 113000 MILES. I BELIEVE CAR HAVE COMPUTER PROBLEMS AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS CAR CANT SAID ONE DAY 5 PROBLEMS, WE CHANGE THE TRASNMISSION OIL AND NOW IT SAID NOT PROBLEM

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WANTAGH MITSUBISHI LOCATED AT 3460 SUNRISE HWY, WANTAGH, NY 11793, WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED AND THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000.

HAVE HAD BREAKS PULLED TWICE SINCE FOR INSPECTION AND CLEANING (DID NOT HELP PROBLEM)CAR IS UNSAFE AND NO ONE KNOWS WHAT PROBLEM IS THE CAUSE, I DO NOTICE A LARGE BUILD UP OF BLACK BRAKE DUST ON BOTH FRONT RIMS, AGAIN THESE BRAKES ARE ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD, PROBLEM SAME WITH PREVIOUS SET OF BRAKES. CAR HAS 60,000 MILES AND WAS BOUGHT NEW.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED EVERY 9,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
IN DECEMBER 2016 PURCHASED 3RD SET OF BRAND NEW TIRES DUE TO EXCESSIVE WEAR AND TEAR. WAS TOLD REAR SUSPENSION/AXLE WELDED IN, AND AT AN ANGLE, CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR AND TEAR ON TIRES, EVEN WITH REGULAR ROTATIONS. A SECOND DEALER/SERVICE STATION HAS CONFIRMED DURING AN OIL CHANGE THIS WITH THE MIRAGES BEING A DESIGN FLAW.
THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING AT 60 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE (POSTED SPEED LIMIT WAS 65 IN THIS AREA) WHEN IT WAS BLOWN BY A STRONG GUST OF WIND ACROSS SOME LOSE SNOW/SLUSH. AS THE VEHICLE SLID, THE DRIVER LET OFF THE GAS AND THE SPEED WAS SLOWLY DROPPING BELOW 60 MPH. THE VEHICLE WENT OFF THE RIGHT-HAND SHOULDER OF THE INTERSTATE INTO A DITCH, WHERE IT ROLLED, LANDING ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, ROOF OF, AND DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, BEFORE LANDING BACK UPRIGHT ON THE WHEELS AND CEASING TO ROLL ANY FURTHER. AT NO POINT DURING THE ROLLOVER AS A RESULT OF IMPACT DID ANY OF THE AIRBAGS IN THE VEHICLE DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE WAS WEARING A SEATBELT. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS LOADED WITH LUGGAGE HEAVY ENOUGH THAT THE SEATBELT LIGHT IN THE VEHICLE WAS PROMPTING FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SEATBELT TO BE USED.
IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH MANUFACTURER'S ADVERTISED FUEL MILEAGE. NO MATTER THE WEATHER, TIRE PRESSURE, POWER TO ACCESSORIES, NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE. I BOUGHT THE CAR BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE ADVERTISED BY MITSUBISHI, AND I RARELY GET OVER 30MPG IN MIXED DRIVING. VEHICLE ALWAYS HAS SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGED REGULARLY, AND IS WELL MAINTAINED. THE RADIO WILL RANDOMLY COMPLETELY LOSE ALL POWER DURING COLD WEATHER WHILE DRIVING. MY REAR TIRES HAVE ONLY 15000 MILES (20000 KMS) AND ARE VERY WORN AND BEAT FROM THIS AXLE. ITS SO BAD YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE HOW MUCH TOE THE RIGHT REAR TIRE HAS. UNACCEPTABLE AND THIS PRESENTS A DANGER TO THE STABILITY OF THE VEHICLE!!! IM FROM ALBERTA CANADA BUT THIS NEEDS TO BE SHARED EVERYWHERE POSSIBLE!!
I WAS TRAVELING ON A TWO LANE ROAD IN MY 2014 MITSUBISHI MIRAGE, IT HAD BEEN RAINING AND THE ROADS WERE STILL DAMP. I WAS DRIVING BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT BECAUSE I WANTED TO ATTEMPT TO GET THE HIGHEST MPG POSSIBLE ON THE MPG CALCULATOR ON THE DASH. SUDDENLY, THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME SLAMMED ON BREAKS. IT WAS AT A DISTANCE THAT I SHOULD HAVE NOT BEEN WORRIED ABOUT COLLISION, BUT AS SOON AS I HIT THE BREAKS IN RESPONSE, THEY FAILED. EVERYTHING HAPPENED SO FAST I DON'T KNOW IF MY BRAKES LOCKED UP CAUSING ME TO SLIDE, OR IF THEY JUST DID NOT ACTIVATE AT ALL. THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS ON THE ROAD. I ENDED UP GOING INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE HEAD ON. THE IMPACT FLIPPED MY MIRAGE MULTIPLE TIMES AND I LANDED SIDEWAYS IN A DITCH. ALL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE WERE INJURED AND WENT TO THE HOSPITAL. I BROKE A RIB AND RECEIVED SOME BAD BRUISING FROM AIRBAG AND SEATBELT, BUT REFUSED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL.
REAR ALIGNMENT OUTSIDE SPECIFICATION, BUT NOT ADJUSTABLE, AS SPINDLES ARE WELDED TO THE AXLE, MAKING SHIM PLATE INSTALLATION IMPOSSIBLE. MY VEHICLE SHOWED EXCESS TOE-IN AND EXCESS NEGATIVE CAMBER, CREATING TIRE WEAR AND HANDLING PROBLEMS. ON THIRD VISIT TO DEALER, A NEW AXLE WAS INSTALLED, BUT THIS ONE IS ALSO OUTSIDE SPECIFICATIONS WITH CROSS CAMBER IN EXCESS OF 0.5 DEGREES, WHICH WILL CAUSE HANDLING PROBLEMS. MITSUBISHI REFUSES TO HONOR THEIR WARRANTY AND REPAIR THIS OBVIOUS DEFECT. A VERY LARGE NUMBER OF MIRAGE OWNERS REPORT THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH NO SOLUTION OR HELP FROM MITSUBISHI. A RECALL MUST BE ISSUED TO REPLACE ALL DEFECTIVE AXLES WITH PARTS THAT CAN BE ADJUSTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MITSUBISHI MIRAGE. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE PADS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 19,000.

ALSO, WE WERE IN MY GEO METRO 1996 AND WHAT I NEED TO REPORT ON ARE ALSO THE CURRENT MITSUBISHI MIRAGE AND OTHER MAKES OF THE SAME TYPE MODEL FRONT CAR SEATS BY OTHER CAR MANUFACTURERS! THE FRONT SEATS HAVE A CONTROL BAR THAT STICKS OUT ABOUT AN INCH OR MORE AGAINST THE PERSONS ANKLES AND THIS CAN CAUSE THE ANKLES TO BREAK IN A REAR END CAR CRASH ALSO THE SEATS, ABOVE THE BAR ARE NOT PADDED ENOUGH TO STOP INJURY TO THE CALVES OF THE PERSON'S LEGS. THE 2014 MITSUBISHI MIRAGE IS MANUFACTURED WITH A METAL HANDLE , ABOUT 6 INCHES LONG AND EXTENDING OUT FROM UNDER THE FRONT SETS , ABOUT ONE INCH. IT COULD BREAK BOTH ANKLES OF DRIVER AND PASSENGER IF THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND. I BASE THIS ON THE FACT THAT ON OCT, 30, 2014 , I WAS REPEATEDLY REAR ENDED , IN A 1996 GEO METRO AND JUST THE PRESSURE ON MY CALVES BEING PRESSED AGAINST THE SEAT DEEPLY BRUISED MY LEG CALVES AND TO DATE . FEB 28, 2015, I STILL SUFFER WITH PAIN AND NUMBESS IN BOTH MY LEG CALVES. THE RIGHT LEG BEING SLIGHTLY MORE INJURED. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MADE A LEFT TURN TO GO ON THE HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE STARTED STARTLING AND THEN THERE WAS SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD. BEING THAT I WAS ON MY WAY TO A FAMILY EVENT THAT WAS ABOUT 5 MILES AWAY, I MADE SURE THAT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE LOCATION SO THAT I COULD AT LEAST PARK MY CAR. AS I WAS DRIVING THE SMOKE CONTINUED WHICH CAUSED ME TO DRIVE MY CAR 20 MPH AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ONE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AS WELL AS THE LOW COOLANT LIGHT REMAINED ON UP UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PARK IT. AS I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO BACK IT IN THE PARKING SPACE THE CAR STARTED MAKING SOME FUNNY NOISE AND IT SOUNDED AS IF THE ENGINE WAS GOING TO FALL OUT. I SHUT THE CAR OFF BEING THAT THE SMOKE WAS GETTING OUT OF CONTROL. I LET THE CAR SIT FOR A WHILE SO THAT IT WAS ABLE TO COOL OFF AND WHEN I TRIED TO SEE IF IT WOULD START BACK UP, IT DID NOT. WHEN MY BOYFRIEND WAS ABLE TO LOOK UNDER THE HOOD WE FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A LEAK AT THE TOP WHERE THE COOLANT WAS AND THE COOLANT HAD SPEWED OUT ALL OVER THE HOOD OF THE CAR. I HAVE ALSO HAD OTHER ISSUES WITH THE CAR NOT STARTING WITH THE PUSH BUTTON START AND I HAVE TO ATTEMPT TO START THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES IN ORDER FOR IT TO START. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 MITSUBISHI MIRAGE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS SHUT DOWN AND JERKED UPON RESTARTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION. A LOUD BANGING NOISE EMITTED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,100.
ON APRIL 18, 2014 ONLY 2 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THEIR BRAND NEW 2014 MITSUBISHI MIRAGE MY PARENTS WERE HIT HEAD ON AFTER A PERSON SWERVED INTO THEIR LANE. SPEED WAS NOT A FACTOR, THE INVESTIGATION IS STILL UNDER WAY, AND WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHY THEY BOTH DIED (DRIVER WITH MASSIVE HEAD TRAUMA INCLUDING A BROKEN JAW, PASSENGER WITH MASSIVE ABDOMINAL TRAUMA.) THERE WILL BE AN AUTOPSY ON BOTH VEHICLES, BUT THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE WALKED AWAY WITH A BROKEN LEG AND HEEL. WHY? I HAVE LOOKED LONG AND HARD AT THIS NEW MITSUBUSHI AND I AM WONDERING WHY THEIR NEW SAFETY SYSTEM THAT WOULD EFFECTIVELY KEEP THEM IN A STEEL CELL DURING AN ACCIDENT WAS COMPROMISED. *TR

(Mitsubishi) is recalling certain model year 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage vehicles manufactured July 27, 2013, to November 20, 2013, and 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV vehicles manufactured October 28, 2011, to September 7, 2012. Due to an increased resistance in the impact sensor for the air bag system, in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the frontal, side and/or curtain air bags when the SRS warning is illuminated, the frontal air bag may have a delayed deployment and/or the side and curtian air bag may not deploy at all.

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Mitsubishi Mirage vehicles manufactured July 27, 2013, to September 2, 2015. If the driver enters an affected vehicle with their feet covered water and salt, it may soak through the carpet and cause corrosion to a wiring connector located in a junction box behind a kick panel to the left of the driver's footrest.

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Mirage vehicles. The internal acceleration sensor in the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) can misinterpret vibrations such as those from poor road conditions or a flat tire to be a sensor error thereby disabling the air bags from deploying in a crash.
