Driving the car stop and a light. Light turns green and the car inches through the intersection. Pedal is to the floor and nothing happens. Eventually power starts to build up and I can go,but once I get to a light it repeats itself and not power after brake is released.
I was about to get on a highway, so before I got on the highway I heard a loud blast overhead, like a loud boom sound. It was very scary that I most lost control. All that I felt was glass all over me and in the car. The panoramic roof just shattered by itself. It felt like a pressure blew the top off. A very scary experience that I don’t know what would have happened if I was on high speed on the highway, I might have lost control. I managed to close the sunroof cover and slowly made it to the next exit.
My cruise control stopped working. I took it to my Nissan dealer where I purchased the car. They advised me I needed a new transmission. However I had just put a new transmission in 3 years prior. I have never had this issue with any other vehicle. I spoke with Nissan consumer affairs who admitted there was an issue with their CVT. But they refused to do anything about it. They stated there is no recall and it’s my responsibility to fix it. The fix is not cheap as the CVT requires a brand new transmission that must be programmed specifically to your vehicle. They were not taking responsibility for the issue that they know is a problem. It is very frustrating to own a vehicle with a company who refuses to fix something they know is wrong. They are not the only ones who mentioned there is an issue. The dealer themselves have seen this numerous times and advised Nissan won’t do anything to make it right with any consumers. This poses a safety hazard in my eyes. Had this gone out at 60 mph it would not shift and could have been a significant safety risk. I am now out over $5,000 to fix the transmission. This is an unacceptable practice and they should be held responsible for continuing the this do nothing and not be forced to make a change in their production and design.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE VEHICLE JERKED, SPUTTERED AND CEASED IN GEAR, WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC CONCLUDED THAT THE FAILURE WAS PROBABLY DUE TO A TRANSMISSION ISSUE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO VERIFY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS RESET HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. LOUGHEAD NISSAN (755 S. CHESTER RD - RT 320, SWARTHMORE, PA 19081, (610)328-1500) WAS CONTACTED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON EACH TIME MY MOTHER IS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT STAYS LIGHTS FOR PERIODS OF TIME. AT TIMES THE LIGHT GOES OFF, THEN BACK ON. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO AN AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP AND HAVE NOTIFIED FIDELITY WARRANTY SERVICES SINCE WE PURCHASED THE ROYAL PROTECTION PLAN WHICH IS STILL IN EFFECT UNTIL NOVEMBER 2021. I AM AFRAID THAT IF MY MOTHER IS IN THE FRONT SEAT AND THE LIGHT SENSOR IS NOT FIXED AND WE ARE IN A FRONT IMPACT ACCIDENT SHE WILL BE INJURED.
DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT INTERMITTENTLY SHUTS OFF AND DIMS WHILE DRIVING AND STATIONARY. SWITCHING LIGHTS FROM "ON" TO "AUTOMATIC" OR VICE-VERSA RELIGHTS THE BULB.
DIM HEADLIGHT
HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT AT ALL. AT NIGHT TIME, I ALWAYS HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY BRIGHTS ON. CAN'T SEE TWO-THREE FEET IN FRONT OF ME AT NIGHT WITHOUT THE BRIGHTS ON. BLINKER LIGHT IS BRIGHTER THAN HEADLIGHTS. HAVE GOTTEN MY HEADLIGHTS REPLACED A COUPLE OF TIMES WITH NO RELIEF OF ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED HE CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS RESIDENCE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA S ARE SO DIM THAT I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR AT NIGHT. THE HIGH BEAMS ARE AS BRIGHT AS THE LOW BEAMS SHOULD BE. WE HAVE REPLACED WITH TOP OF THE LINE BULBS & IT HASN'T HELPED AT ALL. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE & NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS BEFORE PEOPLE ARE INJURED BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEE WELL ENOUGH TO DRIVE. ANOTHER ISSUE WITH MY CAR IS AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING AS THEY SHOULD. MY CAR COLLIDED WITH A 18-WHEELER ON THE INTERSTATE. THE 18-WHEELER CAME OVER INTO MY LANE LATCHING ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR. ONCE I BROKE LOOSE FROM THE TRUCK, I VEERED INTO THE MEDIAN HITTING 2 ROAD SIGNS HEAD ON & MY AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. THIS HAS TO BE A DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS WELL.
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH CONTROL ARMS, REBUILD A TRANSMISSION THAT WENT OUT, MY ENTIRE AC JUST WENT OUT, I AM CONSTANTLY REPLACING BRAKES AND DISK, BALL JOINTS AND SHOCKS. I HAVE SPENT OVER WHAT I AM STILL PAYING FOR THIS CAR AND HAVE ONLY HAD IT FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS AND STILL OWE $18000 AND PAYING EVERYTHING OUT OF POCKET. *TR
THE CHECK ENGINE REPEATEDLY COMES ONE AND CAR STALLS OR IDLES WHEN DRIVING. CAN NOT PASS INSPECTION DUE TO P0014 AND P0024 CAMSHAFT CODES REPEATEDLY COMING BACK ON. RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE MODELS. THIS OCCURS WHEN DRIVING IN THE CITY LIMITS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL CRASHING NOISE DETECTED AND THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING OR IMPACT. THE CONTACT CALLED CHARLIE CLARK NISSAN HARLINGEN LOCATED AT (3500 W EXPY 83, HARLINGEN, TX 78552 (956) 734-2490) BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,700.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA ARE SO DIM IT TRULY IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. I LITERALLY CANNOT SEE 2 FEET IN FRONT OF MY CAR AT ANY SPEED. MY BLINKERS EMIT MORE LUMMIS THAN MY LOW BEAMS. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS I HAVE RESEARCHED AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF NISSAN OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY, VERY DIM. DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH THE HEADLIGHTS ON IS VERY, VERY DANGEROUS AS THERE IS NOT ADEQUATE LIGHT BEING PROJECTED.
HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. TRIED TO REPLACE HALOGEN BULBS WITH BRIGHTER ONES WITH ZERO LUCK. MAJOR HAZARD AND KNOWN ISSUE ON 2013-2015 MAXIMA AND ALTIMA.
NOT LONG AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THE HEADLIGHTS WERE REALLY DIM AND LOW. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE BULBS. SO EVENTUALLY I BOUGHT BRAND NEW BULBS TOP SHELF WHICH DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE TOOK TO SEVERAL SHOPS AND BASICALLY HAVE BEEN TOLD I WILL NEED A WHOLE NEW LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND IT HAS TO DO WITH THE PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT. MY ISSUE IS PAYING ALL THE MONEY ON A NEW ASSEMBLY IF I WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE THE SAME RECURRING ISSUE. I CAN NOT SEE AT ALL. I ALSO HAVE DONE RE SEARCH AND SEEN WHERE A LOT OF ALTIMA AND MAXIMAS BETWEEN CERTAIN YEARS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS DIRECTED TO THIS WEBSITE TO FILE MY COMPLAINT. THIS SHOULD DEFINITELY BE RECALLED AND FIXED COMPLIMENTARY BY NISSAN
THE HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT ARE TOO DIM TO BE SAFELY DRIVEN. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS AND THIS HAS NO AFFECT. THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY THAT HAS BEEN REPORTED BY OTHER MAXIMA AND ALTIMA OWNERS.
DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND HEARD A LOUD GUNSHOT SOUNDING NOISE. PULLED OVER WHEN IT WAS SAFE. I DISCOVERED THE SUNROOF HAD EXPLODED. SAW A BIG HOLE IN THE SUNROOF WITH GLASS EVERYWHERE INCLUDING INSIDE THE SPACE BETWEEN THE SUNROOF AND THE ROOF OF THE CAR.
MY BRAKE HAVE TO BE PUMPED BEFORE MY CAR STOPS. BRAKE RESISTOR IS FULL. NO SQUEAKS ETC.
WHILE USING LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT, LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND DANGEROUS TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD. VERY DANGEROUS TO SEE AHEAD OF ME. I HAVE TRIED REPLACING BULB WITH LITTLE EFFECT. POSSIBLE THAT PROJECTORS ARE BURNT OUT AND WILL NEED ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT.
AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN I AM DRIVING THE CAR AND MY WIFE IS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THE 'PASSENGER AIR BAG IS OFF' LIGHT LOCATED IN THE DASH ILLUMINATES INDICATING THE SYSTEM THINKS THE SEAT IS EMPTY. THIS IS RANDOM AND ALWAYS AFTER A PERIOD OF DRIVING THE CAR. MY WIFE WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 160#, AND IS SITTING FLAT BOTTOMED ON THE SEAT WITH BOTH FEET ON THE FLOOR. WE HAVE BEGUN TAKING CELL PHONE PHOTOS SHOWING A TIME AND DATE STAMP AS PROOF. WE ALSO HAVE SOME WITHOUT A TIME STAMP. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO A NISSAN DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY REPORT 'NO PROBLEM FOUND'. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED. I AM WILLING TO PROVIDE THE PHOTOS AS PROOF. SO FAR THE TIMES WE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS IS AT HIWAY SPEEDS, FLAT AND LEVEL ROADWAYS.
THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER LIGHT IS OUT IN THE CAR WITH 40,000 MILES. THE INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT COME ON WHICH PREVIOUSLY ILLUMINATED THE TEMPERATURE, TIRE PRESSURE AND INDICATES TO PRESS THE BRAKE TO START THE CAR. THE LIGHT NEVER TURNS ON.
TRANSMISSION FAILED PRIOR TO FIRST SERVICE REQUIREMENTS, CVT TRANSMISSION. WARRANTY EXTENDED BUT NOT FOR CURRENT YEAR. ONLY YEAR PRIOR. ALSO VTC RETARTDER KIT RECALLED FOR 2009-2013, NOT FOR 2014. SAME PROBLEMS ARE HAPPENING BUT NOT BEING COVERED UNDER RECALL. TOOK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT IS NOT COVERED EVEN IF THE PROBLEM WAS A RECALL FOR THE YEAR BEFORE.
CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED = CAR WAS DIAGNOSED AT 70,000 MILES
UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND LOST OF POWER WITHOUT NOTICE THEN UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION
CAR WRECK AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AND CAR IS TOTALED. *DT*JB
TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 50,450 MILES. IN MOTION, SLIPPING, JERKING ON CITY STREET. TOP SPEED ABOUT 30-35 MILES PER HOUR.
WHEN AN ADULT SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG TURNS OFF. THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND IT STATES THE AIR BAG IS OFF. IT HAPPENS ANYTIME SOMEONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IT IS A MAJOR HEALTH HAZARD AND IF ITS NOT ADDRESSED AND REPLACED. I WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO GET MY LAWYER INVOLVED IF AN ACCIDENT EVER OCCURS AND IT DOESN'T DEPLOY DUE TO THE FAULTY TECHNOLOGY.
I WAS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT GOING BETWEEN 5-15MPH WHEN I HEARD A 1-2 SECOND DEEP SCREECHING NOISE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD FULLY MADE MY STOP AT THE RED LIGHT, AND I NOTICED WHEN ACCELERATING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THE STEERING HAD BECOME STIFF LIKE I WAS DRIVING WITHOUT POWER STEERING. I FOUND A PLACE TO PULL OVER TO CHECK MY POWER STEERING LEVELS, AND THE FLUID WAS AT THE CORRECT LEVEL. I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON, AND EVERYTHING STARTS FINE, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO HAVE STEERING ISSUES. I'M QUESTIONING IF THE PUMP FAILED AND THE FLUIDS NOT MOVING THROUGHOUT THE SYSTEM. MY 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA IS ONLY AT 33K MILES, AND I FIND IT VERY CONCERNING IF A STEERING COMPONENT FAILED THIS QUICKLY IN ITS LIFETIME. IM PLANNING ON HAVING NISSAN INSPECT THIS AS I OWN A 5 YEAR CERTIFIED PREOWNED WARRANTY.
RECENTLY BOUGHT A USED 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT THE CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS CAR; OPAQUE AND YELLOWING MATERIAL INSIDE THE SEALED HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WHICH CANNOT BE ACCESSED. BOTH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES WILL HAVE TO BE CHANGED OUT, WHICH REQUIRES REMOVING THE BUMPER.
NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION ON 12/05/2018, ABOUT 10:00AM- TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND VIBRATING AND SHAKING OF CAR. PAID ABOUT $350.00 FOR OIL CHANGE AND TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND CHANGE (WHICH THE SERVICE DEPT. SAID I NEEDED FOR TRANSMISSION). THAT SAME DAY ABOUT 5:00PM WHILE ON THE FREEWAY MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING, STARTING SHAKING AND I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER GRADUALLY TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. I GOT IT TOWED BACK TO THE SAME NISSAN SERVICE CENTER FOR THEM TO EVALUATE. ON THE NEXT DAY THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAYS THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION AND THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. NISSAN HAS COME BACK TO SAY THAT THEY WILL PAY FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION MINUS 20%, WHICH WILL BE $800.00 BUT THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO PAY BACK THE 308.00 THEY CHARGED FOR THE TRANSMISSION WORK DONE THE FOLLOWING DAY. I HAVE JUST BEGAN TO REALIZE HOW WIDESPREAD A PROBLEM THIS NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION IS. I WAS SO VERY FORTUNATE THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY SAFELY.
MY CAR TRANSMISSION IS UNSTABLE. I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH 88K MILES AND CHECK ENGINE SOON SENSOR CAME UP. MY CAR ON STREETS WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND EVENTUALLY WOULD STALL. RAN DIAGNOSTIC, P1778 CODE FOR TRANSMISSION STEP MOTOR REPLACEMENT. REPLACED THIS PART AND TRANSMISSION STILL GIVING ISSUES. MY CAR HAS STALLED ON ME SEVERAL TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY FAMILY IN THE CAR, VERY HAZARDOUS. THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR PROPERLY, WONT PICK UP ON SPEED UNTIL LATE , CAUSING RPMS TO RISE DRAMATICALLY. I'VE READ ONLINE IN COUNTLESS POSTS THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION IN NISSANS ARE TERRIBLE. THIS IS A NISSAN ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. VERY UNSAFE FOR NISSAN DRIVERS WITH CVT TRANSMISSION. I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION AND I FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD HONOR A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT FOR ALL WHO HAVE COME VICTIM TO THEIR FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSIONS. THESE FAULTY ISSUES POSE A THREAT TO THE DRIVERS, PASSENGERS, AND ALL WHO USE THE ROADS FOR DRIVING, PEDESTRIAN WALKING AND DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS. *TR
WINDOWS LET'S DOWN ON ITS ON
WHILE DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT, FLAT, AND SMOOTH STRETCH OF HIGHWAY IN NASSAU COUNTY, NY, I HEARD A SUDDEN LOUD EXPLOSION. I FIRST ASSUMED IT WAS A TIRE FAILURE, BUT THE CAR CONTINUED STRAIGHT AND TRUE WITHOUT ANY VIBRATION, SHAKING, OR ERRATIC MOVEMENT OF ANY KIND. I PULLED OVER ONTO THE SHOULDER AND UPON INSPECTION, I SAW THAT THE FRONT PORTION OF THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF HAD A LARGE HOLE DIRECTLY IN THE CENTER AND WAS SHATTERED, WITH BITS OF GLASS FROM THE EXPLOSION RESTING ON THE STILL CLOSED SUNSHADE. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED ON A PARKWAY WHERE NO COMMERCIAL TRAFFIC IS ALLOWED, AND IT WAS JUST AFTER 7:30AM ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6TH, 2018 SO TRAFFIC VOLUME WAS EXTREMELY LIGHT, ALMOST NONEXISTENT IN EITHER DIRECTION. THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES TRAVELING AHEAD OF ME, NEXT TO ME, OR BEHIND ME WITHIN ANY CLOSE PROXIMITY. I WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND AT OR BELOW THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MPH. *TR
RECENT CAR ACCIDENT AND AIR BAGS NEVER DEPLOYED.
MY 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH MY FAMILY AND MYSELF INSIDE WERE IN A NEAR DEATH SITUATION WHEN THE CAR DID NOT HAVE POWER TO CROSS TRAIN TRACKS THAT WENT ACROSS THE ROAD. WE HEARD THE TRAIN COMING AND THE ONLY REASON WE ESCAPED DEATH WAS BECAUSE OF A MAN IN A PICKUP TRUCK IN BACK OF US OBSERVED THE SITUATION AND QUICKLY PUSHED THE CAR OVER THE TRACKS AND OUT OF THE WAY JUST BEFORE THE TRAIN QUICKLY PASSED THROUGH. I LATER FOUND OUT FROM THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THAT WAS WHY THE CAR DIDN'T HAVE THE POWER TO CROSS THE TRAIN TRACKS. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION REPAIR WOULD COST ME $5000.00 AND THAT THE REPAIR WASN'T COVERED UNDER ANY CVT TRANSMISSION WARRANTY. NISSAN SHOULD COVER THIS REPAIR ON THERE KNOWN TROUBLESOME CVT TRANSMISSION. WOULD NISSAN COVER EXPENSES FROM THE DEATH OF MY FAMILY AND MYSELF BECAUSE OF THERE FAULTY TRANSMISSION?
WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, SOMETIMES THE 'AIRBAG OFF' INDICATOR LIGHT WILL GO ON RANDOMLY. I EVEN HAVE VIDEO PROOF OF THIS HAPPENING WHILE MY GIRLFRIEND, WEIGHING 130 POUNDS, WAS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WITH HER SEATBELT ON. THE LIGHT WOULD STAY ON FOR MINUTES, SOMETIMES AN HOUR, BEFORE RANDOMLY TURNING OFF. ALSO, THE ENGINES OXYGEN SENSOR RANDOMLY TRIGGERS THE 'SERVICE ENGINE' LIGHT AS WELL, I BELIEVE IT NEEDS TO BE REPROGRAMMED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE DECELERATED. WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE SEIZED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (COUNTRY HILL MOTORS, 6639 F FRONTAGE R, MERRIAM, KS 66202, 913-362-7111) WHERE FAILURE CODE: P0746 (LINE SOLENOID PERFORMANCE) WAS FOUND. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
2014 NISSAN MAXIMA HAS ISSUE WITH VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY CENTER IS NOT WORKING AND DARK ON SCREEN WHILE DRIVING (JUNE 2018). DEALER SAID THAT IT'S NOT COVER BY WARRANTY AND WILL REPLACE THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER UNIT WITH THE ESTIMATE COST OF OVER 1,200 DOLLARS. IT'S A 4 YEARS OLD AND HAS 27,000 MILES VEHICLE, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I'VE EVER HAD PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY.
THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. WHEN DRIVING WITH MY WIFE (USUALLY MY ONLY ADULT PASSENGER) WE HAVE BOTH NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON, STATING THAT THE AIR BAG IS TURNED OFF. THIS SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD BE A DANGEROUS SITUATION IF WE GOT IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN WE ARE DRIVING OR JUST SITTING IN THE CAR STOPPED WITH THE CAR ON. DATE OF INCIDENT IS A RANDOM DATE AS THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.
STEERING LOCK FAILURE.
THE DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT IS STUCK FOR SOME REASON AND I CANNOT ADJUST THE LOCK PART TO FASTEN OR WEAR MY SEATBELT WHICH MEAN I CAN'T FOLLOW TEXAS SEAT BELT LAW AND COULD BE HURT OR KILLED DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I HAVE NOT DONE ANYTHING THAT WOULD HAVE CREATED THIS ISSUE SO I AM CONFIDENT THAT IT IS A DESIGN ISSUE OR MAYBE A FLAW IN JUST MY 1 CAR......I DON'T WANT TO BE STOPPED AND GIVEN A $200 TICKET WHICH TEXAS LAW AND POLICE ARE STRICKED AND I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE THAT IF I DO NOT PULL THE BELT OVER MY CHEST I WILL BE STOPPED BECAUSE I WAS GIVEN A $200 TICKET ON A SUNDAY MORNING AND I PULLED OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND REALIZED WHEN A SAW A STATE TROOPER THAT WAS HEADING TOWARD ME I INSTANTLY REALIZED THAT I HAD FORGOT TO FASTEN MY SEATBELT AND HE SAW ME PUT MY SEATBELT ON AND HE PAST ME AND TURNED AROUND WITH LIGHTS AND AND GAVE ME A $200 TICKET WHILE I WAS WEARING THE BEALT
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, A PASSENGER WHO SITS IN PASSENGER SEAT THE AIRBAG NOTIFICATION LIGHT COMES ON INDICATING THE AIRBAG IS OFF. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE ON JULY 29, 2017 WITH 37000 MILES. WE HAD TO MAKE VIDEOS TO SHOW THE DEALERSHIP THAT WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP KEEPS SAYING THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIND PROBLEMS BIT IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD TO EVEN DRIVE THIS VEHICLE
VEHICLE CAN BE TURNED OFF WHILE PRESSING IGNITION BUTTON WHILE STILL IN GEAR. THIS RESULTS IN THE CAR DRIFTING ONLY A BEEPING. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT TURN OFF AND WILL GO INDEFINITELY UNTIL PARKED. SEVERAL TIMES THIS HAS ALMOST CAUSED MAJOR ACCIDENTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER AIR BAG WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED AND BLINKED OFF AND ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (NISSAN OF RICHMOND, VA, 804-346-4200) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT THE CONTACT DID NOT WANT TO PAY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
TRANSMISSION IS GONE , CAR ONLY HAS 77000 MILES , NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION
I HAVE A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA AND HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR FOR OVER A YEAR. THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON, INDICATING THE AIRBAG IS OFF, EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE PROBLEM OCCURS AT DIFFERENT TIMES, INCLUDING IF A PASSENGER IS SEATED IN THE CAR BEFORE THE CAR IS STARTED OR IF A PASSENGER GETS IN THE SEAT AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR WHEN THE CAR OR BROUGHT TO A STOP. OCCASIONALLY THE LIGHT TURNS OFF, MOST TIMES IT DOES NOT TURN OFF. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP, GETTLE NISSAN IN SARASOTA FL, AND THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND CLAIM THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THEY REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER ASSISTANCE SINCE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR AND I CAN PROVIDE PICTURES AND/OR VIDEO SHOWING THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOW SEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS FROM OTHER NISSAN MAXIMA OWNERS WITH THIS SAME ISSUE AND IT IS TIME FOR NISSAN TO ADD THE 2014 MAXIMA TO THEIR RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, ANOTHER VEHICLE CUT IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,363.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATIONAL, A NOISE COULD BE HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR PASSENGER SEATS ALONG WITH A FUEL ODOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NO LEAKS WERE NOTICEABLE AND THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY FUEL PUMP THAT NEED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FUEL DAMPENER THAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE PART WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
ISSUE IS WITH THE PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG SENSOR. THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON, INDICATING THE AIRBAG IS OFF, EVEN WHEN AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS AT DIFFERENT TIMES, INCLUDING IF A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT BEFORE THE CAR IS STARTED, IF A PASSENGER GETS IN THE SEAT AFTER THE CAR IS STARTED. SOMETIMES THE LIGHT TURNS OFF, SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. WE HAVE VIDEOS SHOWING MULTIPLE INSTANCES OF THIS HAPPENING. NISSAN CLAIMS THERE IS NO PROBLEM, CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND REFUSES TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. OTHER NISSANS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND ARE SUBJECT TO RECALL. THE MAXIMA NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WILL NOT ACTIVATE WHEN I SIT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I AM A 5'4" WOMAN THAT WEIGHS 125LBS. OUR 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA WAS RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE, ONLY I DID NOT EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM IN THAT VEHICLE OR IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE I RIDE IN AS A PASSENGER. EVEN IF MY PURSE, WHICH WEIGHS AT LEAST 10LBS, OR MY DOG THAT WEIGHS 25 LBS SITS IN MY LAP, THE SENSOR DOES NOT REGISTER MY WEIGHT PROPERLY. I FEEL THIS ISSUE IS DUE TO THE SENSOR NOT BEING POSITIONED PROPERLY IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ISSUE TO NISSAN AND HAVE 2 CASE NUMBERS. 22789194 AND 23879183. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO 2 DEALERS, WHICH I DID. I WAS INFORMED SINCE THERE WAS NOT AN ERROR CODE ON THE COMPUTER, THE AIRBAG WAS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. I REQUESTED A SPECIALIST TO COME AND SEE MY SIZE AND FURTHER INVESTIGATE THE SAFETY OF THE MAXIMA, BUT MY REQUEST FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS DENIED BY NISSAN AND I WAS ADVISED BY THEM THAT I WOULD NEED AN ATTORNEY FOR ANY FURTHER COMPLAINT. WE OWN MULTIPLE OTHER VEHICLES FOR OUR BUSINESS AND I HAVE BEEN A PASSENGER IN MANY RENTAL CARS AND WELL AS THOSE OWNED BY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IN ANY OTHER VEHICLE AND STRONGLY DISAGREE WITH THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS COMMENT THAT I WEIGH LESS THAN A SMALL CHILD. I HAVE TAKEN PICTURES ON MANY OCCASIONS OF THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT, INCLUDING ONE WITH MY PURSE ON MY LAP AND ONE WITH MY DOG ON MY LAP. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS IF THE VEHICLE IS MOVING OR STATIONARY. IF I LIFT MYSELF OFF OF THE SEAT AND WAIT FOR THE THE AIRBAG TO RESET, IT WORKS FOR 2 TO 3 MINUTES BEFORE IT DEACTIVATES AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM BUT I CHOSE A SERVICE DATE FOR THE REQUIRED FIELD BELOW. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE RIDING AS A PASSENGER IN MY 2014 MAXIMA AS I BELIEVE I WOULD BE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH IN REVERSE, A CLICKING SOUND WAS HEARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
2014 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH 43000 MILES. SUNROOF EXPLODED TWICE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH. ALMOST EXACT SAME OF HOLE LEFT IN ROOF. ONCE ON JULY 20TH 2016 AND ONCE ON AUGUST 15 2016 AFTER BEING REPLACED WITH OEM PARTS. DANGER TO MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. NISSAN REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING AFTER CALLING IN AND SPEAKING WITH THE COMPLIANT DEPARTMENT. I HAVE SINCE REPAIRED IT A SECOND TIME AND RETURNED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP - I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE.
ON AUGUST 13, 2016, THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGH-SPEED RAMP GOING ONTO A HIGHWAY (LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY) WITHOUT ANY WARNING, PUTTING US IN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS STILL WORKING, BUT MOTOR SHUT OFF. I COULDN'T GET THE CAR MOVING AFTER NUMEROUS ATTEMPTS A/C ALSO SHUT DOWN EXPOSING US TO A 100+ DEGREE HEAT UNDER DIRECT SUNLIGHT. ALSO WHILE WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK, WE GOT HIT IN THE BACK BY THE ONGOING FORD SUV WHICH COULD NOT STOP ON TIME.
I PURCHASED MY 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA SV ON AUGUST 27, 2014. ON THE DATE OF PURCHASE, I NOTICED A CLEARLY VISIBLE PROBLEM WITH THE EXTERIOR PAINT ON THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP ON THE DATE OF PURCHASE, I NOTIFIED MY SALESMAN THAT THE PAINT ON THE BODY, THE FRONT AND THE REAR BUMPER WERE ALL DIFFERENT SHADES OF PEARL WHITE. I WAS ASSURED BY THE SALESMAN THAT THE REASON THE APPEARANCE WAS DUE TO THE VEHICLE BEING PARKED BY GREEN BUSHES CAUSING A REFLECTION. IT IS MY CONTENTION THAT YOUR COMPANY (NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC.) AND ITS AFFILIATE'S, SPECIFICALLY CENTRAL NISSAN IN HOUSTON, TEXAS FAILED TO FULLY DISCLOSE PRODUCT INFORMATION. THE PRODUCT/GOODS IN QUESTION IS THE NISSAN MAXIMA 2014 MODEL THAT YOU MANUFACTURED AND SHIPPED TO YOUR AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIPS. THIS VEHICLE AND OTHERS OF THE SAME MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR WERE BEING SOLD TO THE PUBLIC KNOWING THAT THERE WERE EXTERIOR PAINT VARIATIONS.THE WINDOW STICKER MADE NO MENTION THAT THE VEHICLE HAD VARIATIONS OF PEARL WHITE PAINT, IT JUST STATED PEARL WHITE. I HAVE PRE-DELIVERY RECEIPTS THAT STATE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED FOR PAINT DISCREPANCIES WHICH WERE FALSE. A NISSAN REPRESENTATIVE ADMITTED TO KNOWING OF THE PAINT VARIATIONS. IF ACCURATE INFORMATION ABOUT PAINT VARIATIONS WAS DISCLOSED DURING THE TIME OF NEGOTIATING, I WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. TO DATE, THERE HAS NOT BEEN A PUBLIC DISCLAIMER/RECALL TO CORRECT THE VARIATION(S) OF THE VEHICLE(S). THIS ACT VIOLATES TEXAS STATUE 17.46 (B)(7)(24)DECEPTIVE TRADE PRACTICES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE SUN ROOF SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR ILLUMINATED, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE AIR BAG WAS TURNED OFF EVEN THOUGH THE PASSENGER WAS OCCUPYING THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED, WHICH INDICATED THAT THE AIR BAGS WERE DEACTIVATED ALTHOUGH A PASSENGER OCCUPIED THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
I WAS SITTING IN MY CAR IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN SUDDENLY MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. THE SUNROOF GLASS WAS CLOSED BUT THE ROOF WAS OPEN. MOST OF THE GLASS ENDED UP OUTSIDE THE CAR. IT WAS LIKE IT EXPLODED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. THE GLASS ON THE EDGES WAS BENT UPWARDS. IT WAS LIGHTLY RAINING AND THE TEMPERATURE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60 DEGREES. THANKFULLY I WASN'T DRIVING BECAUSE THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY CLAIM THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING BEFORE. THE INTERNET SAYS OTHERWISE.....
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE PARKING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED LIGHTLY AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITH EXTREME FORCE. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE CENTER DRIVER'S SIDE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE CAUSING THAT VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 26,000. UPDATED 06/14/16*LJ
I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE HIGHWAY ON A SUNNY DAY, ABOUT 75 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, GOING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WHEN I HEARD A LOUD EXPLODING TYPE OF NOISE. THE NEXT THING I KNOW I HEAR RATTLING OVERHEAD. I DON'T LIVE FAR FROM WHERE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED SO CONTINUED TO DRIVE .25 MILES APPROXIMATELY TO MY RESIDENCE AND IMMEDIATELY GET OUT TO INSPECT MY VEHICLE. THE SUNROOF WAS SHATTERED INTO A MILLION PIECES AND THERE WAS HUGE HOLE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. I HAD NOT OPENED THE SUNROOF WHILE DRIVING SO THE VISOR WAS THANKFULLY CLOSED WHEN IT BROKE.
I PURCHASED A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA IN JANUARY 2015 EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN MARCH OF 2015 WHERE THE CONSOLE SCREEN (RADIO, HEAT/AC CONTROLS, GAS MILEAGE, ETC.) CONSTANTLY BLACKED OUT/VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL LINES APPEARED. THE SCREEN WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED AND THE REPAIR WAS FIXED BY A LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. AFTER RECEIVING AN OIL CHANGE IN EARLY JULY 2015 (FIRST FREE OIL CHANGE) I NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE HAD A TICKING AND KNOCKING NOISE/SOUND THAT WAS RATHER LOUD COMING FROM THE ENGINE. I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AN ENGINE KNOCK FROM #1 MAIN BEARING. AT THE DEALERSHIP A SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS SET-UP AND I WAS PROVIDED A SERVICE BULLETIN (TECHNICAL BULLETIN) FROM NISSAN. THE BULLETIN READS AS FOLLOWS: CLASSIFICATION: EM12-014A REFERENCE NTB12-01A DATED DECEMBER 17, 2013 THAT FOR 2009-2014 MAXIMAS HAVE ENGINE KNOCKS FROM #1 MAIN BEARING (ON THIS NOTICE THERE IS A NOTE DO NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE FOR THIS ISSUE). I DID NOT REALIZE THE MAXIMA HAD ENGINE ISSUES. IF I KNEW THIS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE I WOULD HAVE SELECTED ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAVE MADE A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO NISSAN REQUESTING THE REPURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE WITH VARIOUS MANUFACTURE DEFECTS (CURRENTLY WAITING ON A RESPONSE). ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE TRIED TO RECEIVE AN EVEN TRADE FOR A SAFE VEHICLE DUE TO THE MANUFACTURER DEFECTS FROM THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BROUGHT THIS CAR BUT HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL AT THIS POINT DUE TO THE DEPRECIATION OF THE VEHICLE/CURRENT MANUFACTURER DEFECTS (UNSAFE ENGINE). THIS IS UTTERLY RIDICULOUS FOR A CAR THAT HAS LESS THAN 7,000 MILES TO HAVE SO MANY DEFECTS THAT WAS PURCHASED 6 MONTHS AGO. ANY ASSISTANCE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 30 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED OVER THREE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,458.
DRIVING DOWN A SNOW/ICE COVERED ROAD, I HEARD A LOW NOISE COME FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF VEHICLE AND STEERING WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I DETERMINED IT TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE POWER STEERING. THE BELT IS STILL INTACT AND THERE IS FLUID IN THE RESERVOIR. I AM GOING TO DEALERSHIP TOMORROW TO DIAGNOSE BUT THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AS IS DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO REACT TO POSSIBLE ISSUES IN ROADWAY. HARD TO BELIEVE A CAR WITH ONLY 1000 MILES COULD HAVE THIS HAPPEN. *TR
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON IN SUB-ZERO WEATHER AND STAYS ON. DOES NOT GO OFF UNTIL TEMPERATURE WARMS UP. ON 12/31/2014, AT -35 DEGREES THIS OCCURRED AND STAYED ACTIVE MY ENTIRE DRIVE TO WORK. ON 01/01/2015 AT -10 DEGREES THE WARNING LIGHT AGAIN CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THE WARNING LIGHT CLEARS AS SOON AS THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE INCREASES. DEALER WANTS TO SEE CAR AT THEIR FACILITY. BY THE TIME I WOULD GET TO THEIR FACILITY, THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE WILL HAVE RISEN AND THE LIGHT WILL BE OFF. I AM CONCERNED I HAVE NO AIRBAG PROTECTION IN SUB-ZERO CONDITIONS. *TR
2014 NISSAN MAXIMA SEAT BELTS HAVE A DESIGN FLAW THAT I DO NOT BELIEVE WAS THE DESIGN INTENT. THE AUTOMATIC LOCKING RESTRAINT OR ALR LOCKS ON ACCELERATION AND ON DESCENDING STEEPER HILLS AT CONSTANT SPEED. THIS PINS THE DRIVER TO THE SEAT, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO LOOK OVER HIS SHOULDER, FOR INSTANCE, DURING MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY. THE OWNER'S MANUAL STATES CLEARLY THAT THE ALR DEPLOYS ON RAPID DECELERATION AS IT SHOULD; AS EVERY OTHER CAR DOES. HOWEVER, THE NISSAN MAXIMA ALR ALSO DEPLOYS ON ACCELERATION IN A STRAIGHT LINE ACCELERATION AND LATERAL ACCELERATION. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR THAT BEHAVES IN THIS WAY. WE HAVE A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA THAT DOES NOT BEHAVE IN THIS WAY. I HAVE DRIVEN TWO 2014 MAXIMA'S THAT EXHIBIT THIS BEHAVIOR AND THE DEALER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO CORRECT THIS. AS YOU LOWER THE HEIGHT OF HUGE SEATBELT ANCHOR ON THE FRONT SEATS, IT BECOMES MORE AGGRESSIVE. ALL FOUR SEAT BELTS EXHIBIT THIS BEHAVIOR. RESTRICTING THE DRIVER'S MOVEMENT UNNECESSARILY IS UNSAFE. THE DEALER SAID THEY HAD OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS FOR THE SAME REASON. *TR
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT COMES SHOWING THAT NOBODY IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN IN FACT THERE IS SOMEBODY SITTING THERE. TO ME THIS MEANS THAT IF A CRASH OCCURRED WITH SOMEONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE INDICATOR SHOWS NOBODY THERE, THE AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY. *TR
PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG STAYS LIT INDICATING THAT AIR BAG IS OFF AND WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. THIS OCCURS WHEN THERE IS AN ADULT PASSENGER IN THE SEAT. BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS INTERMITTENT WHEN TAKING IT TO THE DEALER IF THE LIGHT IS OFF I AM TOLD THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING WITH A PASSENGER. *TR
BRAND NEW LEASE, HAD VEHICLE 2 DAYS. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, THANK GOD THERE WAS SLIGHT TRAFFIC CONGESTION. OUT OF NOWHERE THE CAR STARTED TO PULL TO THE LEFT, I COULD NOT GAIN CONTROL OF VEHICLE. THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED HARSH, AS IF I WERE STUCK ON SOMETHING. CARS BEHIND ME HAS TO SLAM BREAKS AND SWERVE OUT OF WAY. WHEN TOW TRUCK CAME THEY SAID STABILIZER BAR WAS BROKEN AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT HAD I BEEN GOING FASTER. AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS AND CONVERSATIONS NISSAN IS FORCING ME TO TAKE THE "REPAIRED" CAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO TAKE A CAR THAT WAS BROKEN STRAIGHT FROM THE FACTORY. *TR
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON INDICATING AIRBAG IS OFF WHEN MY WIFE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. SHE IS 5'3" AND WEIGHTS APPROXIMATELY 102LBS. TOOK IT TO DEALER, AUTONATION LEWISVILLE, TX. AFTER CONSULTING WITH NISSAN THEY SAID IT WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. IT IS NOT FUNCTIONING NORMALLY AND IS A SERIOUS SAFETY MATTER. NOTICED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT SAME SUBJECT. IT IS TIME FOR NISSAN TO ADMIT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND GET IT FIXED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN MAXIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEATED SEATS WOULD NOT HEAT IN THE BOTTOM PORTION OF THE SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE SEATS WERE PERFORMING TO SPECIFICATIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 800.
